In this paper, VTS(Vector Taylor Series) algorithm, which was proposed by Moreno at Carnegie Mellon University in 1996, is analyzed and simulated. VTS is considered to be one of the robust speech recognition techniques where model parameter conversion technique is adapted. To evaluation performance of the VTS algorithm, We used CMN(Cepstral Mean Normalization) technique which is one of the well-known noise processing methods. And the recognition rate is evaluated when white gaussian and street noise are employed as background noise. Also, the simulation result is analyzed in order to be compared with the previous one which was performed by Moreno.

In this paper, we present the algorithm for calculating the interference of the received Non-ideal receiver filter and present the method for calculating the interference faster than that of the conventional method. The algorithm is simulated by Matlab and the simulation procedure is described by the flow-chart. The algorithm is verified by comparing the simulated results by Matlab with the result by calculator.
Performance analysis of UWB receiver using PPM and BPSK modulation scheme in the LR-WPAN System

In the IEEE 802.15.4a system, they require simple, economical and low power consumption transmitter and receiver to transmit low rate data and to identify distance and location. To meet these requirements, LR-WPAN system use transmitter and receiver with simple modulation and demodulation scheme. In this paper, use PPM+BPSK modulation and windowing scheme to overcome multipath fading effect. Then we apply this channel estimation scheme to LR-WPAN system and compare performance depends on transmitter scheme. Proposed method using preamble to find channel characteristic out and we compensate distorted data with that information. Therefore we can detect signal easily at the demodulation part. Simulation result shows that performance evaluation is greater at the NLOS channel than LOS channel no matter what the receiver scheme.

Highway ARS service made several times handling of cellular phone for accept the one information. But, use the cellular phone while driving is against the law that 'Road Traffic Act' and wield influence on safety by degrade driver's attention that causes reduced section of concentration. On this study, propose a new type service that more useful and safer witch improved of existing ARS service to it served for cellular phone. For the analyze problem in existing ARS service, collect and analysis that ARS using status data and highway overall speed data, and then offer a better service type which based on improvements to that. Also, make a comparative analysis including measure of degree about easy to use and safety between two services by using the Stated Preference method, as a result of verifies the effect of new type service Finally, for measure of the effect the value of improved ARS service type that used willingness to pay in CVM method.

The share rate of bus mode has been decreasing continuously. To solve this problem, the local governments implement Bus Management System(BMS) or Bus Impormation System(BIS). In operating the public transportation preferential policy, it is very important to verify the effectiveness of the projects. This study performed the effectiveness of BMS through before and after study based on the field data. Moreover, this study analyzed the factors affecting to BMS. We anticipate that the results of this study would be useful reference in local government's BMS planning.

A Study for Reducing Traffic Accident at Signalized Intersection - Focus on Left-turn Phase Sequence -

The main purpose of this study is to search a method for reducing traffic accident at signalized intersections. One of the important factors for this is the Left-turn phase sequence. In 1985, the operational principle of Left-turn phase Sequence was changed from Lagging left-turn to Leading left-turn in Korea. Then there was a resonable motive-no exclusive left turn-lane and narrow intersection. So, it is necessary to evaluate the performance difference between Leading and Lagging left -turn phase Sequence. The process of this study is as follows:
First, all the intersection was divided three parts for analysis the traffic safety: Inside part of an Intersection, Crosswalk, Intersection approach and exit.
Second, a safety analysis was performed by using the concepts of 'Effective interphase Period(EIP)' and 'Conflict method' The Study result is that the benefit of of phase Sequence changes from Leading to Lagging phase were significant. For an example the Accident cost will reduced about 41.8 billion won per year in korea.
