Disaster Recovery Priority Decision of Total Information System for Port Logistics : Fuzzy TOPSIS Approach

This paper is aimed to present a fuzzy decision-making approach to deal with disaster recovery priority decision problem in information system. We derive an evaluation approach based on TOPSIS(Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution), to help disaster recovery priority decision of total information system for port logistics in a fuzzy environment where the vagueness and subjectivity are handled with linguistic terms parameterized by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. This study applies the fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making method to determine the importance weight of evaluation criteria and to synthesize the ratings of candidate disaster recovery system. Aggregated the evaluators` attitude toward preference, then TOPSIS is employed to obtain a crisp overall performance value for each alternative to make a final decision. This approach is demonstrated with a real case study involving 4 evaluation criteria(system dependence, RTO, loss, alternative business support), 7 information systems for port logistics assessed by 5 evaluators from Maritime Affairs and Port Office.
An Empirical Study on the Influence of Social Network Services(SNS) and Individual Characteristics on Intention to Continuous Use of SNS

Social network service(SNS), provided by social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Cyworld is rapidly growing in online business. Furthermore, many companies have growing interests in finding effective ways to use SNSs for their innovations, marketing and advertisement. In fact, firms have recognized the utility value of the SNS for their business. In this aspect, this study attempts to identify key factors influencing the intention to continuous use of SNSs. Based on the UTAUT(the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology)model, this study proposes the research model, including the effects of social network service characteristics(social relationship support, information sharing, image expression) and individual characteristics(self-disclosure, extroversion, familiarity) on performance expectancy as well as the moderating effect of perceived information security among UTAUT variables. The 412T sets of data collected in a survey were tested against the modeling using SEM using SmartPLS. Results indicated that social network service and individual characteristics had significant effect on performance expectancy with exception of self-disclosure. In addition, the moderating effect of perceived information security had significant effect. The results had important implications for firms providing SNSs hoping to develop a successful business model.
Does Big Data Matter to Value Creation? : Based on Oracle Solution Case

It is essential that firm makes a rational and scientific decision making and creates a news value for the future direction. To do so, many firms attempt to collect meaningful data and find the filtered and refined implication for the better customer relationship and the active market drive through the various analytic tools. Among the possible IT solutions, utilization of `Big Data` is becoming more attractive and necessary in such a way that it would help firms obtain the systemized and demanding information and facilitate their decision making process to keep up with the market needs. In this paper, it introduces the concepts and development of `Big Data` recognized as a IT resource and solution under the rapidly changing firm environment. This study also presents the several firm cases using Big Data` and the Oracle`s total data management and analytic solutions in order to support the application of `Big Data`. Finally this paper provides a holistic viewpoint and realistic approach on use of `Big Data` to create a new value.
Continuous Usage Intention of Twitter`s Informations Focus on Elaboration Likelihood Model

This study aims to investigate the factors influencing followers` continuous usage intention of twitter based on Elaboration Likelihood Model. In particular, central route(information itself) and peripheral route(twitterian`s trustworthiness) are tested to reveal which has a more influential role in effecting the continuous usage intention of power-twitter. Furthermore, this study tests the relationship of users` attitude and continuous usage intention. The results indicate that argument quality, accuracy(central route), source expertise and source trustworthiness (peripheral route) have an influence on attitude. However, trustworthy on central route is not significant. Argument quality, trustworthy, accuracy(central route) and source expertise(peripheral route) have an influence on perceived usefulness. But source trustworthiness on peripheral is not significant. Attitude has an influence on perceived usefulness, and attitude and perceived usefulness both have an influence on perceived usefulness. In conclusion, central route is more influential than peripheral route in forming a positive attitude towards arguments, which in turn leads to the perception of twitter`s usefulness, and in the end brings the continuous usage intention of twitter.
The Effect of Business Strategies and Competitive Environments on the Configuration of e-Biz Integration Policy Determinants

These days, firms are focusing on the improvement of relationships with business partners. The supply chain integrations are taking critical role in improving the relationships with business partners. In accordance with the development of the IT technology, it became possible for firms not only to integrate inner parts of the organization, but also to integrate the company with other organizations in the supply chain, which is open system. Therefore, in e-Biz environments, it is imperative for firms to strengthen the core capacity through the supply chain integration, and to precisely determine the components of the determinants of e-Business integration which impact the firm performance. This study analyzed determinants that have impacts on business integration in IT capacity perspectives in competetive environments. We analyzed 163 domestic companies to find out many significant suggestive points. First, IT management capacity, process innovation capacity are adopted as determinants of differentiation and competetive edges against competing firms. Second, it is analyzed that the more the companies are in intensified competetive environment, the more likley that the innovation capacity and partner management capacity become the determinants of the business integration of the companies and that they pursue new market development strategy. Third, it is analyzed that the more the companies are in high demand fluctuation, the more likley that the innovation capacity becomes the determinants of the business integration of the companies, and that they pursue new market development strategy and operation efficiency strategy. Last, it is analyzed that the more the companies are Technology dependent, the more likely that IT management capacity and process innovation capacity become the determinants of business integration, and that they pursue new market development strategy and operation efficiency strategy. These results provide us the foundation that the determinants that we have analyzed can impact the supply chain integration strategies which take into account the competetive environments.
An Empirical Study on the Correlation of IT Investment and Management Performance in the Financial Industry

The study investigated if IT investment in Korean financial markets for the past 18 years has grown following the s-curve pattern based on Nolan`s growth model in order to find the correlation between IT investment and management performance in the financial industry. According to the research finding it can be said that the overall financial markets maintain s-curve pattern, and IT investment is related to management performance, particularly increase in total assets and net profit. However, each sector has defining features of growth patterns. The banking industry has grown similarly to the s-curve, and the insurance industry also shows the s-curve but it looks more like linear pattern. In terms of securities industry, its growth patterns can hardly be considered s-curve due to the irregular changes. his research outcome illustrates the analysis of IT growth patterns in the financial industry and thus, it is expected to be a useful reference when deciding the appropriate time for IT investment in the financial industry.
Who Can be the Target of SNS Review Marketing? : A Study on the SNS Based Marketing Strategy

With the advent of SNS (Social Network Services), the product reviews by friends in SNS are intensively utilized for online marketing. However, there is a lack of empirical evidence on the actual marketing effect of SNS reviews, although we need to identify who can be the target of SNS marketing in terms of customer attributes, preferences, or experiences. In this study, we investigate the moderating role of customer attributes in identifying the effect of SNS reviews on customer purchasing decision. As the moderating variables, we adopt `information search experience` and `perception of information overload`. Research results evidence that, in order to understand the effect of SNS reviews in a comprehensive manner, we need to examine it in the context of various related factors such as `information search experience` and `perception of information overload`. The results show that the persuading effect of SNS reviews for product purchasing is stronger for the customers with the lower information search experiences as well as the lower perception on the information overload on the web. This result delivers managerial implications on who can be the target customers of SNS marketing.
Analysis of Billing System using AHP for Cloud Computing Services

Cloud-computing is in the limelight with expectation for cost reduction, because it alleviates the burden of initial investment and maintenance cost and based on pay-as-you-use billing policy. However, many suppliers of Cloud-computing service are suggesting diverse and complicated billing policies without consideration for setting reasonable service billing policy and definite criteria of properties to determine service billing system. So companies willing to use Cloud-computing service are hard to understand the billing system and often spend more expensive cost than necessary. Therefore, this study invested billing system properties of four representative suppliers. Based on these properties of billing system, this study found priorities using AHP survey which conducted to experts who are able to make decisions for adopting Cloud-computing in the company using or willing to use Cloud-computing service. We expect that this study can suggest basic guideline for comparing and analyzing properties of Cloud-computing service with standardized and objective method.
A Study on the novel ICT baced Services : Focused on N-Device Smart Education Services

A novel concept of ICT based service, which is called N-device service, is proposed and implemented in the form of N-device smart education services. The N-device services are different from the existing N-screen services in terms of the number of devices a user is using for a specific service at the same time. A N-device service consists of several smart devices which are different in size, software and hardware platform, mobility, manufacturer and the like by fully utilizing the characteristic of each device. The major and unique features of N-device services are analyzed and depicted in a strict way. Those are shared role for each device, service by configurable device, one sensor multiple use, real-time data sharing, role shifting and new market creation. It is turned out that the N-device service is more human centric compared with existing ICT based services and can give richer digital experience to users because non-existent services become possible with the new concept. However, there exist several barriers to be implemented and commercialized in the real world. Those include high development cost and time, small market and different application platforms of devices. These barriers can be overcome by technical advances and cooperation between relevant parties. The smart education is very prominent area, in which the novel concept can be applied with high priority because Korean government announced its plan to boost up new educational services with big budget and these are acceptable by enthusiastic Korean parents and students. That`s why the N-device service is implemented in the education area, which is called as "livessam(live teacher)," with four smart devices, IPTV, tablet PC, PC and smart phone. By providing both detailed service scenario and techniques, we shows that the novel education service is technically feasible and acceptable by teachers and students.
A Study on Win-Win Growth Strategy for Large and Mid-sized IT Service Enterprises

The purpose of this research is to find a better win-win growth strategy of Large and mid-sized IT service enterprises. Efficient win-win growth for large and mid-sized enterprises is essential for acquiring a solid global competitiveness in IT service industry. However, previous studies lack generalized and detailed findings, and therefore past strategies were based on fragmented analysis. To develop an efficient win-win growth for Large and mid-sized enterprises, global benchmarking and an in-depth analysis on deep-rooted problems in IT service industry has been conducted. Past and present policies on IT service industry have been reviewed based on desirable co-growth structure. Based on research, current policies are unable to support co-growth, and collaborative efforts between Large and mid-sized enterprises as well as square deals are necessary for win-win growth. A new policy paradigm has been derived and a roadmap for efficient co-growth strategy has been suggested. The results of this research can be used for building a better IT service industry polices. In future studies, a longitudinal analysis on the proposed co-growth strategy can be conducted.
A Study on the Relation of Web News and Stock Price

In the stock market, the investors rely on stock information to trade. Good information may stimulate buying, raising the stock prices and the bad information may result in selling, decreasing the stock prices. In terms of the relationship between information and stock prices, stock prices can be viewed as reaction of investors to all the information flowing into the market. The significant increase of web stock news volume is often associated with the significant changes of stock prices. When the web stock news volume for a firm increases significantly, the stock price movement is often oscillatory. This paper attempts to investigate the relationship between volumes of information from Korean web IT and stock prices in Korean stock market. This research shows that when the web stock news volume increases significantly, volatility, trading volumes and rate of returns are increase too. The results of the study provide us with the new clues to the microstructure of the stock market from the perspective of the web news.
The Study on Differences of Performance by Mimic Investment Pattern of IT Project

The purpose of this study is to examine negative IT performances produced by irrational fashion-mimic IT investments in firms. Since most studies have been carried out on the assumption of rational investment decisions, many of them have revealed positive investment process and performances in firms. However, fashion-mimic investments to follow the paths of market leaders rather than rational investment decisions have been of frequent occurrence in many firms. This study divided types of mimic investments into subgroups where one subgroup has fashion-mimic properties and the other subgroup retains rational-mimic properties. We compared differences in performance of these subgroups to investigate effects of irrational investments in IT projects. The results indicated that there are differences in performance between fashion-mimic and rational-mimic investments. Additional analysis also revealed differences in performance at the presence of CEO control in the case of fashion-mimic investment subgroup.
Effects of Perceived Factors on the Word-of-Mouth of SNS

Given the prevalence of internet and web 2.0, SNS(Social Network Service) market is growing rapidly. IT providers which focused marketing point on network hub have become to disseminate SNS mainly now. Many users are using the various functions of SNS to communicate each other or share the information. At this point, identifying the influencing factors to WOM(Word-Of-Mouth) of SNS is very important. In this paper, we aim to examine the effects of perceived variables on the WOM of SNS. In order to analyze the antecedents, we selected perceived factors such as perceived usefulness, perceived easiness, perceived enjoyment and perceived crowd. For statistical analysis, we surveyed real users of SNS. As a result, all antecedents of WOM showed significant influence and among the variables the perceived enjoyment has top standardized coefficient. In addition, perceived crowd has significant on perceived easiness, perceived enjoyment but not on perceived usefulness. The result of this research can be useful guidelines to increase SNS Market.
Adaption and Assessment of ETSI M2M Standard in Smart Home Environments

Recently, smart home environments which provide complex services through smart appliances are becoming realized, due to the advances in connected devices and network technologies. Current smart home environments are mostly restricted, because of difficultly of integration of heterogeneous smart appliances. Therefore radical service integration is impracticable. In this paper, we analyze and implement Machine-to-Machine (M2M) standards which are established by European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) for integrating heterogeneous devices and services. Smart Home is one of the areas covered by ETSI M2M standards, however these standards are just standardized, so adaption and assessment in smart home are not proved yet. Therefore, this paper analyze ETSI M2M standards by focusing the data transport model and evaluate by selecting the most commonly used smart home scenarios and by implementing ETSI M2M standards compatible smart metering system. In some points ETSI M2M standards are not efficient because of its complexity of structure, however ETSI M2M provides sophisticated features for integrating M2M which are appropriate to adopt diverse smart home environments.
Identifying Influencing Factors on the Price Per Click of Keyword Advertising : Focusing on Keyword Type, Search Number and Competition

Many advertisers utilize sponsored search in search engines since customers want to find relevant information on their purchases from the search engines. Many factors have influences on price per click of the sponsored search. These influences are different based on the types of keywords such as search/experience or prominent/specific. However, differences of the influences have not been studied well. Thus, this study wants to identify the differences of the influences according the type of keywords. One month data of keyword advertising were collected from Naver. The influences of search number, click through rate, and competition on price per click were different according to the keyword types.
Role-Based Application Model for Supporting Spontaneous Interoperation in Ubiquitous Environments

The spontaneous interoperation is an important characteristic of ubiquitous applications and is closely related with mobility. The mobile components in ubiquitous environments are liable to appear in and disappear from one physical space to another. Because this characteristic certainly influences the structure and behavior of applications, they should adapt themselves to the changed environments by configuring their structure and behaviors. Consequently, developers are faced with the above challenging issue when they design and implement ubiquitous applications. The role concept is an efficient tool to model participant entities, their relationship, and collaboration, so role-based model are appropriate to describe a structure and behavior of software system. But, little attention has been given to reflect characteristics of ubiquitous applications. To tackle the problem, this study considers a ubiquitous application as a software organization which consists of software components and proposes an enhanced role-based application model for supporting spontaneous interoperation.
Emerging IT Services Model : Cloud Business Model, Focused on M-Pesa Case

Cloud computing, which means a new way of deploying information technology(IT) in organizations as a service and charging per use, has a deep impact on organizations` IT accessibility, agility and efficiency of its usage. More than that, the emergence of cloud computing surpasses a mere technological innovation, making business model innovation possible. We call this innovation realized by could computing a cloud business model. This study develops a comprehensive framework of business model, first, and then defines and analyzes the cloud business model through this framework. This study also examines the case of M-Pesa mobile payment as a cloud business model in which a new value creation and profit realization schemes have been realized and industry value network has changed. Finally, this study discusses the business implications from this new business model.
