Park, Yoonseo ; Kim, Yongsik ;
Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 1~23
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.001
This study examines whether key characteristics of cloud computing services would affect the intention of use for personalized cloud computing services. The research model was generated based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with resistance variable, and verified statistically by undertaking a survey about the perception of personal users. As the results of this analysis, we could find the structural relationship among the factors affecting adoption of the cloud computing service. We found that the expectation of ubiquity as a representative function of the cloud computing service meaningfully affected the perceived ease of use and resistance, and that the relativeness with existing services also meaningfully affected the perceived ease of use, but not the resistance. In addition, the moderating effects of use experience in the path leading from the perceived ease of use and resistance to the intention of use were identified. This study will provide diverse implications for the companies providing personalized cloud computing services.

Recently, social network services (SNSs) most notably in Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin have became a worldwide sensation more than the other internet services. This study suggested social conformity theory is appropriate tools for diagnosis to rapid adoption and diffusion of SNSs. Based on previous research, we suggested three different aspects of social conformity:social imitation conformity, social connection conformity, and social comparative conformity. Namely conformity has positive effect on user's three kinds of commitment which called continuance, normative, and affective commitment. we investigated user's commitment to the SNSs have positive effects on user's stickiness intention. Finally, we presented useful implications related to academy and industry.

As the usage of SNS has grown dramatically over the last years, it has been used in various sectors not just a tool for communication. In particular, corporate companies actively use Facebook as a tool for corporate marketing. Corporate companies communicate with their customers by providing service or events information. In this study, empirical analysis was carried out on corporate companies that are using Facebook as a marketing tool, thus finding out the influencing factors in continued usage of Facebook Fan Page users. In addition, analysis of the factors will be investigated according to continued usage of the users, where the user's intention will differ depending on how corporate companies operate and deal with the Facebook Fan Page. Factors affecting the user's satisfaction, perceived usefulness, and perceived playfulness were deducted through the analysis of the existing literature study on corporate company's continued intention on the usage of Facebook Fan Page. Accordingly, factor affecting this such as relationship, speed, content diversity, which are the media characteristics of the Facebook were deducted and finally hypothesized. In addition, the type of corporate company's Facebook Fan Page was divided into event type, communication type, information service type. And hence investigated the factors that differed from the continued usage depending on the type. Results analysis shows that perceived usefulness affected only relationship, speed, content diversity. Furthermore, analysis shows that corporate company's Fan Page of communication and event types are the factors that affect the usage intention which meant it only affected the perceived enjoyment. On the basis of this study, we are able to present an implication of value where corporate company use it as a marketing tool, through factors from continued usage of coroporate company's Facebook Fan Page users.

As education environment is changing rapidly and competition of education industry is more intensive, the importance of service view about education is increasing as a differential competitive advantage. This study attempted to investigate the impact of service convenience as a different competitive advantage on e-learning acceptance by using TAM. The purpose of this study is to examine how five-dimensional service convenience constructs(decision convenience, access convenience, transaction convenience, benefit convenience, post-benefit convenience) affect consumers' perceived usefulness, attitude and usage intention. For this study, data were gathered from respondents who bought or used e-learning services and analyzed by structural equation model. Among the five-dimensional service convenience constructs, two constructs(benefit convenience, post-benefit convenience) affected consumers' positive perceived usefulness, attitude and usage intention about e-learning service. The results show that management and investment to improve benefit and post-benefit service convenience make consumers' positive attitude and usage intention about e-learning service.

DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.091
In this study, we empirically examine cross-sectional determinants of IT personnel size of Korean listed companies from year 2004 to year 2009. Also, cross-sectional determinants of IT personnel size involved in managing internal control over financial reporting (hereafter, "ICFR") were examined. IT personnel or IT workers are recognized as critical intangible resources comprising firm's IT capability. Although IT personnel are regarded as important resources, there are not much information about factors explaining the size of firms' IT personnel. Fortunately, the Korean governmant regulates that every listed companies should dislclose the number of IT workers and ICFR-related IT personnel in their annual reports. This study utilizes the mandatorily disclosed IT personnel data to analyze cross-sectional determinants of korean listed companies' IT personnel size. Empirical results show that profitability, uncertainty, leverage, industry types are statistically significant factors associated with the size of IT personnel.

DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.109
Recently domestic companies have struggled to deal with different kinds of crisis accrued from various sources. However, their perception on the crisis and crisis management system are extremely vulnerable. In particular, although almost all companies have had many business related crisis, they have tended to ignore the crisis with simply considering it as unlucky and not to approach it provocatively in preparing some preventive measures and turning it into an opportunity due to the lack of recognizing the importance of risk management. In other words, domestic companies have not systematically prepared detailed plans for potential crisis, rather have tended to recognize the importance of having crisis management system after experiencing a detrimental crisis or accident. Furthermore research on the issue has conducted sparsely in the academic world. The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences among types of businesses in terms of the degree of crisis experienced previously, the perception on the importance of crisis management system, the level of crisis management implementation, and the areas of crisis management being focused in the future. Usable data was collected from 201 companies using an on-site survey. Data was analyzed with SPSS 21.0 using some descriptive statistics and a series of ANOVA (One-way Analysis of Variance). Results and implications were provided, along with some future research directions.

Kang, Jae-Won ;
Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 125~143
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.125
This paper intends to explore the social and cultural implications of convergence media, based on Goffman's situational approach. The situational segregation of regions makes us to re-interpret the current private and public spheres and helps us to reveal the principle and structure hidden in the new middle region. An environment of convergence media is nullifying the separation of private and public spheres, while letting a new middle region appear.

Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 175~186
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.175
Among many automotive manufacturing processes, an assembly process has the smallest automatization percentage. As the correct assembly of the supplied components according to its specification is directly related with the quality of the final product, it is of the utmost importance to reduce the possible human errors in the assembly line. However, due to the lack of an effective verification system for an assembly line, currently, there is huge cost loss caused by the errors in seat assembly every year. Therefore, in this paper, to overcome the limit of the current verification method and to prevent the occurrence of assembly errors caused by mismatching assembling components or its specifications, a verification system and its method is proposed employing the RFID technology. The system is for automatic detection of the assembly errors, so that it can reduce the time and effort needed for verification and maximize the work efficiency. Also, by preventing the assembly errors in advance, the productivity can be increased through a quality innovation.

In this study, we developed a comprehensive model to measure the National Information Security Level based on PRM framework. The proposed model reflected a rapidly changing technology environments such as social network service, mobile devices, and etc. This new model consists of three layers:Infrastructure Layer, the Action Layer and the Performance Layer, and there are 16 sub-indexes under the 3 layers. To develop new model and sub-indexes for measuring the National Information Security Level, much amounts of documents related to security indexes or deliberation criteria and security guidelines from international organization were reviewed and then most probable index pool were composed. The Index pool were verified by expert group consisting of professors and specialists. Through five times of screening and having an evaluation review, 16 sub-indexes were deduced and then Delphi and AHP have been conducted to obtain validity and objectiveness of the indexes. Thus the new proposed national information security index will show more exact national information security level and we expect that the indexes give much implications for establishing information protection policy.

Recently, due to the proliferation of smartphones, users of mobile banking services which are based in wireless Internet without constraint of the time and places are significantly increased. In the study, considering the characteristics of mobile banking services based on the smartphone and the user behavior. we analyse the factors which have an effect on the behavioral intention to use mobile banking services based on the smartphone. For this purpose, we use the model which is based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and add two constructs:the perceived enjoyment and the perceived risk. A survey data for 194 students at the K cyber university is used for statistical analysis. As a result, the perceived ease of use affects the perceived usefulness and the perceived enjoyment, and the perceived ease of use. And the perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment affect continuous intention to use. On the other hand, the hypothesis which the perceived risk would affect adversely the continuous intention to use is rejected. Through this study, we expect to provide the useful implications for the smartphone banking services and contribute to the development of strategy for them.

Seong, Deokhyun ; Byeon, Gwuiwon ;
Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 255~265
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.255
This paper proposes a DEA-AR model for the efficiency evaluation of the iron ore brands in an integrated steel mill. The input factor is defined as unit cost of each brand based on CIF and two output factors are chosen as Fe and Al which are the important ingredients of iron ore. The relative importance between two output factors is determined by several experts using AHP model. The efficiency of each brand is determined using DEA and DEA-AR models. The negative correlation between the DEA-AR efficiency and the unit cost (CIF) is shown as significant whereas no significant correlation exist between the efficiency and the output factors. Also, the Kruskal Wallis rank sum test shows that there exist efficiency differences among the iron ore types whereas no difference is shown among the countries. The result could be utilized in selecting good brands of iron ores based on the DEA-AR efficiency in an integrated steel mill.

Yang, Sung-Byung ;
Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 267~287
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.267
As the online bookstore market has been saturated and the level of competition has become more intense, maintaining competitive advantage by mitigating consumers' perceived risks can be considered as one of good alternative strategies a company should use. Although studies that identify the types of consumers' perceived risks in the context of online bookstores as well as validate the relationships between perceived risk and its antecedent/consequent factors in an integrated manner are strongly required, there has been less attention paid to these matters. Therefore, based on previous literature, we identify five types of perceived risks (financial, performance, online payment, delivery, and seller's response risk) and validate the impacts of online bookstore specific characteristics and user specific characteristics on perceived risk. In addition, we also verify causal relationship between perceived risk and intention to use online bookstores. The results of PLS test using 108 samples collected from undergraduate and graduate students confirm that perceived risk has a negative impact on intention to use and four antecedents (reputation, service quality, self-efficacy, and user experience) are significantly related to perceived risk.

Hwang, Young Hwan ; Kim, Soung Hie ; Jo, Hyeon ;
Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 289~305
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.289
Recently, Green Business/IT becomes very important for management of company, because there are many new regulations about the environment protection, especially to reduce green house effect. The purpose of this research is to investigate present situation of Korean manufacturing industry about the Introduction of Green Business/IT. For the people who is in charge of the decision whether to Introduce Green Business/IT or not, this paper aim to provide some useful findings. We made a research framework consisting of 5Ps (Philosophy, Partner, Process, Product, Public) from literature review, then we found that almost all of the companies in manufacturing industry prepare for the regulations by introducing and using Green Business/IT concepts. There are some differences between production goods industry and consumer's goods industry. Also we found that there are a lot of relationships with recognition level and planning level. The higher the level of profitability, the lower the level of preparing social responsibility. This means there are two opposite perspectives(profitability, social responsibility). Therefore organizations who are adopting Green Business IT/should strive for harmony of sight.

Cloud computing allows users to access software or specific programs that support the cloud platform through an information communicating device that can connect to the internet anywhere or anytime. Also, the cloud architecture not only reduces the expenses of IT infrastructure construction and maintenance, but also speeds up processing and mobility, which leads to a significant ease of use. In spite of the advantages of cloud computing, previous studies have been centered on case studies of the execution, advantages, and problems of cloud computing. In contrast, empirical research on individual cloud computing up till now is very insufficient. Thus, the research aims to create a model of an individual user's perspective and verify validation. This study reveals types of influence that characteristics can have on an individual user's intention to use, by searching the characteristics that the individual user recognizes on cloud computing services. The results are as follows:first, the characteristics of cloud computing indicates a significant influence on usage intention. Second, all characteristics in cloud computing, accessibility, reliability, perceived ease of use, and fusibility, are confirmed in providing significant influences in shaping social influence forms. Third, social influence has a significant influence on usage intention.

DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.337
The mobile market in South Korea is about 4trillion and the social commerce market is also growing. Social commerce market was started from small venture company and in nowadays, its status is getting higher enough to compete with such as Gmarket and 11st. As social commerce market is rapidly growing, the interest of consumer is getting higher and we need to research about how consumers to recognize and make a purchase. For the research, I set hypothesis about consumer's recognition about social commerce, shopping experience, purchasing disposition, a trust influence on purchase attitude and we analyzed through actual investigation. I did a survey for male and female in 20s. An analysis result showed that the recognition about social commerce, shopping experience, purchasing disposition and a trust can affect on purchasing satisfaction. The most popular category in social commerce market was restaurant and fashion and I also found that consumers visit social commerce market in case of need rather than regular visits. I expect a rapid growth of social commerce market as an advance of smartphones. I hope this research could help for to establish marketing strategy by understanding characteristics of social commerce market and consumer proneness.

Lee, Yun-Kyung ; Kim, Ju-Gyun ;
Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 349~367
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.349
In MANET, the AODV routing protocol with on-demand method has a problem in large control packet overhead. In order to improve this, we first need a comprehensive analysis of correlation between performance metrics and factors affecting the performance of AODV. Selected parameters based on this analysis make it enable to be a more accurate and fair performance analysis, as well as to reduce the time and effort when constructing a scenario for performance analysis. In this paper, various scenarios are configured to apply AODV by varying the values of factors affecting the performance with network simulator QualNet 5.0, and then the results are analysed using performance metrics proposed by IETF MANET working group. This paper also founds a correlation between performance metrics and factors affecting the performance for AODV routing protocol, choosing the values of factors that represent many of the most maximum and minimum values of each performance metrics, and proposes optimal simulation parameters for a more accurate performance evaluation of routing protocols with minimal scenario in experiments. Next, performance comparison of AODV, DSR and DYMO routing protocols based on the proposed simulation parameters is shown which provides a comparative analysis on the performance of on-demand routing protocols. Results of this paper could be very useful for the researcher or service provider who wants to find nice simulation environment or select a proper routing protocol.

Lee, JaeYoul ; Han, Jae-Il ; Kim, Young-Man ;
Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 369~380
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.369
The advent of the state-of-the-art technologies such as cloud computing and big data processing stimulates the provision of various new IT services, which implies that more servers are required to support them. However, the need for more servers will lead to more energy consumption and the efficient use of energy in the computing environment will become more important. The next generation nonvolatile RAM has many desirable features such as byte addressability, low access latency, high density and low energy consumption. There are many approaches to adopt them especially in the area of the file system involving storage devices, but their focus lies on the improvement of system performance, not on energy reduction. This paper suggests a novel approach for energy reduction in which the MRAM-based SSD is utilized as a storage device instead of the hard disk and a downsized page is adopted instead of the 4KB page that is the size of a page in the ordinary file system. The simulation results show that energy efficiency of a new approach is very effective in case of accessing the small number of bytes and is improved up to 128 times better than that of NAND Flash memory.

Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 399~422
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.399
The aim of this study is to find the model that best explains members' continued use intention in virtual communities by comparing technical and social perspectives applied in IS context. With the eight major variables identified from prior studies, four alternative models were formulated:1) A base model from Information Systems (IS) continuance perspective, 2) IS continuance model with technology-acceptance perspective, 3) IS continuance model with social-capital perspective, and 4) IS continuance model with socio-technical combined perspective. The adequacies of these four models with different perspective highlighted were tested using survey data collected from virtual community users in Korea. The findings indicated that the IS continuance model and social-capital perspective is the most efficient model that best explains the members' continued use intention in virtual communities.

Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 423~434
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.423
Since acquiring intelligence about political situations around the Korea Peninsular in a direct manner is nearly impossible, it is inevitable for the individuals or companies to rely on open and indirect data such as newspapers. However, since the contents in the newspapers are substantially unstructured and very large, conventional content analysis is time-consuming and hence very costly. Hence, this paper aims to propose a sentimental analysis method which computes daily 'peace index' from unstructured data in the newspapers. From the content analysis, words and phrases which represent the sentiment of a nation are carefully identified. To show the feasibility of the idea proposed in this paper, a prototype system with vocabulary repository about political situations was developed for estimating peace index automatically.

Journal of the Korea society of IT services, volume 12, issue 4, 2013, Pages 435~447
DOI : 10.9716/KITS.2013.12.4.435
If we use a smartphone to analyze and detect falling, it is a huge advantage that the person with a sensor attached to one's body is free from awareness of difference and limitation of space, unlike attaching sensors on certain fixed areas. In this paper, we suggested effective posture analysis of smartphone users, and fall detecting system. Suggested algorithm enables to detect falling accurately by using the fact that instantaneous change of acceleration sensor is different according to user's posture. Since mobile applications working on smart phones are low in compatibility according to mobile platforms, it is a constraint that new development is needed which is suitable for sensor equipment's characteristics. The software which is used for electronic bulletin boards have shortcomings that the addition of new function and new information's type to the order point software is very difficult, and the aggressive adaption of newly introduced type of media is impossible because the software is developed by custom solution. Eventually new cost and time are required to enhance functionality or performance to software of DID(Digital Information Display). In this paper, we proposed the scheme to package DID's contents and to customize it using plug-in method. We conducted a case study of this scheme. The platform which can install Apps to DID as one of content was designed. Apps can be inserted by plug-in type on DID platform and run separately with DID framework. As a result, We got advantage that various contents, functions and Apps which are drived on Android can be displayed without any restriction and dependency because Apps itself is one of dynamic notice object. This solution increase reusability of Apps or contents, and can be used easily in various places such as airports, stations, terminals, and front desk by customizing.
