Brand-Post Factors Affecting the Social Media Success : Case of Energy/Eco-Friendly Company Brands in Facebook

Domestic and international energy and eco-friendly companies take advantage of social media for image enhancement and product promotion. However, there were no in-depth empirical analysis to verify specific effectiveness of social media use in these sectors. The purpose of this study is to reveal the key factors that are considered to use social media effectively for energy and eco-friendly companies. For this purpose, we regarded the effectiveness of social media as Post Awareness and Word of Mouth. Characteristics of social media as a medium were measured separately, media richness and media genre, as independent variables of social media effectiveness. We investigated 413 posts in Facebook brand page of energy and eco-friendly companies and conducted a content analysis. As a result, post awareness of users was greater when post has richer media such as video. For media genre, word of mouth appeared to be greater when the posts provide information.
A Study on the Effect of Complementary Bundling Based on the Categorization of the New Hybrid IT Product

Categorization means the process labeling or identifying an object based on what people already know or its similarity for people to be easily perceptible in external environment. If it is categorized, it is schematically conjectured from typical characteristic of the category. In this sense, the categorization of new products has an important effect upon the market performance. Nevertheless, the categorization of innovative new products is not easy and occasionally very ambiguous. In this study, we discuss how to strengthen the categorization strategy of new hybrid IT products through complementary bundling. The model of this study is based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with resistance variable and verifies the statistical significance by undertaking a survey on consumers` awareness. In addition, we review the moderating effects of prior knowledge in the adoption process of complementary bundling. Through this analysis, we find out the structural relationship among the factors affecting adoption of complementary bundling. Also, it show that the influence of prior knowledge in respect of the adoption process is greater than others in case that there exists significant heterogeneity among strategic categories and complements. In conclusion, these findings suggest the following managerial implication. The categorization strategy of new hybrid IT product can be enhanced by complementary bundling, but the suitability among strategic category and complements should be evaluated exhaustively.
Personal Characters and Addictive Use of Facebook

The current study explored the factors that affect the addictive use of facebook. This study focused on the relationship between personal characters and the addictive use of facebook. To define the addictive use of facebook, various issues and the definitions of the Internet addiction were first considered in the theoretical background. Then depression, extroversion, openness, and communication competence were considered as the personal characters. Data were obtained by online survey and 600 responses were gathered. The results revealed that depression predicted the higher degree of the addictive use and low communication competence positively affected the addictive use of facebook. However, after controlling for communication competence, depression and extroversion were both associated the addictive use of facebook. Further, social compensation perspectives and social enhancement perspectives, and the policies on the SNS addiction were discussed.
A Study on the Causal Relationship between the Expected Effects by Acceptance Attitudes of Smart Work

In this study, I explored the causal relationship between acceptance attitudes and the expected effects of smart work. With the rapid development of smart technologies, lots of organizations try to innovate in the conventional working styles for maximizing organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Although many organizations wish to foster smart working environment, they don`t have confidence in detailed action plans and effects from it. Therefore, this study that explores the causal relationship between acceptance attitudes and effects may have crucial meaning to organizations pursuing smart work. In this research empirically conducted by questionnaire survey, the acceptance attitudes as predictors and the expected effects of smart work as influenced variables were used. This research analyzed 118 collected data and multiple regression analysis. As a result of analysis, teleworking shows the positive relations to all of dependent variables. And others have a positive or negative influence on cognitive effects of smart work. Results of this study may give implications to organizations that want to implement smart work environment.
Longitudinal Analysis of Regional LQ Index Industry Competitiveness of Game Culture Contents Industry

The purpose of this study is to analyze the status and the competitiveness improvement of game contents industry comparing to relative LQ index of the no. of character company, the no. of employee and the amount of revenue of 2011, 2012, and 2013 between including Metro area and regional blocks(kangwon, chungchung, daekung, honam, dongnam and jeju region. The results of this research are as follows. In case including metro regional analysis, no. of employee suggested Metro and Chungchung have high competitiveness in during the 3 years. And in case of no. of game company suggested honam, dongnam and jeju area have high competitiveness between 2012 and 2013. The amount of revenue of game industry indicated the only Metro area have over LQ 1.0 which relative higher competitiveness than the other culture contents industry. But in case of except of Metro, no. of game company indicated honam, jeju have relative high competitiveness over LQ 1.0 and the no. of employee indicated kangwon, chungchung, honam and jeju showed relative competitiveness during 3 years. The amount of revenue of game industry indicated kangwon, chungchung and honam suggested high competitiveness. Honam area have strong competitiveness among three category by regional longitudinal analysis. Kangwon and jeju area suggested 2nd strong regional competitiveness. The main competitiveness of game industry were well established among national industry cluster.
The Analyses of Research Productivity and Review Efficiency for IT Related Journal

Interests on collaborative research and academic relationship among researchers have been increased. Collaborative researchers can maximize productivity, time and cost savings, and reduce the risk of research. An empirical study on the research productivity of co-authors` network and review efficiency of the reviewer network was conducted based on co-author networks and reviewer networks in Korea Society of IT Service. This study aims to find the characteristics of the co-author and reviewer networks, and to analyze research productivity and review efficiency in order to draw some implications. The meaning of interactions among professional groups was analyzed. Research productivity index was calculated using 728 authors` papers submitted to the society. In order to verify the effects of indicators of social network analysis on research productivity and review efficiency, correlation and regression analyses were used. As a result, the indicators of network centrality did not affect the review efficiency, but affect the research productivity.
Policy Design to Vitalize Spectrum Sharing Ecosystem : A System Dynamics Approach

Demand of spectrum resource is tremendously increasing recently and this trend will continues in the future due to the wide spread of IT services based on cloud computing and Internet of Things technology and as well as smart devices. Recently, spectrum sharing technology has drawn attention to the spectrum policy makers as a promising way to overcome the shortage problem of scarce spectrum resource. To succeed in commercialization of spectrum sharing technology, it is necessary to prospect the future business ecosystem of spectrum sharing and develop appropriate policies and laws at the same time along with the advance of spectrum sharing technology. The purpose of this paper is to analyze casual relationships between enablers in future business ecosystem of spectrum sharing and propose policies to vitalize spectrum sharing ecosystem based on a system dynamics causal map proposed in the previous research. With the causal map and system dynamics method, it is possible to analyze feedback loops exist in the business ecosystem of spectrum sharing and build policies which optimize positive dynamics in business ecosystem of spectrum sharing. As a result, policy leverages were found in four areas; spectrum supply, spectrum demand, spectrum quality and technology, and spectrum transaction cost. For those policy leverages, 13 policies were identified and intervention timing for each policy was discussed. Finally, the promotion policies of government and market participants to vitalize spectrum sharing ecosystem were discussed.
A Study on the Legislation of Crowd-Funding in Korea

Since the global financial crisis, funding for startups or ventures has been diminished seriously. In this situation, crowd-funding has attracted worldwide attention as a viable means to financing startups/ventures. After reviewing existing laws in other countries, this study investigated the current status of crowd-funding legalization in Korea and surveyed requirements from three groups of participants to crowd-funding. Investors already recognized the high risk of crowd-funding into startups and asked for the protection of their investment. But, their priorities were on the enlargement of tax benefits and the establishment of a trading market for selling their equity. In addition, investors wanted to shorten the compulsory holding period. Issuers as fund raisers hoped fast legalization, convenient process of crowd-funding, and expansion of government support. Crowd-funding platform operators requested policies for establishing paths to become new growth companies from startups, tax benefits, and the setup of separate fund for startups. Currently, the National Assembly in Korea is holding the discussion on the submitted law. For desirable outcomes to all participants, it would be better to proceed in the following sequence. First, legalize the crowd-funding with clauses protecting investors; Second, encourage investment through tax benefits; Third, develop communities among participants for reducing information asymmetry; And fourth, establish diverse trading markets for selling equities of startups.
A Study on Relationship Quality Influencing Customer Value, Customer Satisfaction and Relationship Retention Intention in the B2B Transaction : Focused on Clients of PCB Manufacturing Corporation

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of relationship quality on customer value, customer satisfaction and relationship retention intention in the B2B transaction relationship. For the empirical study, we conducted a survey of the PCB corporation`s client companies and used 110 surveys of them for analysis. The results of this study are summarized as follows : First, trust, relationship satisfaction, unity and performance as factors of relationship quality had significantly positive effect on relationship retention intention by the medium of customer satisfaction. Second, utilitarian value which is a parameter did not have significantly effect on customer satisfaction and relationship retention intention. Whereas, hedonic value which is influenced by relationship satisfaction, unity and performance had significantly positive effect on customer satisfaction and relationship retention intention. These results are not treated weightily in the preceding studies and managing the hedonic value in B2B transaction relationship is considered important to improve the customer satisfaction and relationship retention intention.
The Business Ethics and Innovation Management Performance of IT Service Firm`s in Korea

This paper discussed about business ethics and innovation management performance of IT service firms in Korea. To prove empirically the research hypothesis, the statistical analysis was based on the response from the 92 IT Service firms in Korean. As analysis results, it was found that the business ethics of organizations were the effect factors of the innovation management performance. And the knowledge competency and creativity are confirmed as a mediator between the business ethics and innovation management performance. So this paper suggests that business ethics in organizations are the important factor for enhancement of IT service firm`s innovation performance. Specially the mediation effects of knowledge competency and creativity variables were proved empirically for the relation between the business ethics and innovation management performance. So it is desirable that knowledge-based service firms, for example IT service firms, have to strive to upgrade their level of business ethics and to link with their creativity and knowledge competency.
A Study on the Development of PMO Cost Estimation Model

Recently the complexity and difficulty of the IT projects are increasing due to technological and environmental risks, resulting in the adoption of PMO(Project Management Office) onto IT project management practices, including public area projects. For example, the Korean government regulated the application of PMO onto large scale public IT projects. However, since there has been no reliable method to estimate the cost to execute PMOs, a PMO cost evaluation model to support the budget and cost planning of PMO projects is required. Thus, the purpose of this research is to develop a systematic cost evaluation model for PMO projects. We identified the dimensions that determine the PMO execution cost to be the scale of the subject project, the technical difficulty level of the subject project, and the tasks to be executed in the PMO project. Based on the determinants, the PMO execution cost model were developed from historical data and experts opinion. Upon verification, the validity of the developed model has high level of consistency compared with their experiences of real PMO project costs.
Empirical Data Analysis of a Social Network Name-Directory Service with Advertisements

With the evolution of Internet technologies and the increasing variety of Internet devices, advertisements in various web services have also expanded. Interactive web services often go hand in hand with effective advertisements for a business model. We estimated statistical parameters of the interactive web server for service monitoring and advertisement-effect. In the web pages, we integrated the plugins of social networking services (SNSs) (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) and an advertisement scheme (e.g. Google AdSense) that regards social name-directory contents. Empirical data analysis and statistical results are presented with the implementation of estimations of parameters (e.g. utilization-level and serviceability) and advertisements in a social networking name-directory service (http://ktrip.net or http://한국.net). We found that estimated parameters were applicable to service monitoring of web-server as well as to synthesis of advertisement-effect in our social-web name-directory service.
The Effect of Characteristics and Perceived Privacy Risk of Mobile Location-based SNS on Intention to Use SoLoMo Applications

In recent years, the social network service (SNS) and the location-based social network service (LBSNS) industry is expanding and the competition within the field is increasing much more. Since 2010, the full-scaled studies of SNS and LBSNS have begun. With the growth of SNS and LBSNS markets, SoLoMo (Social-Local-Mobile) is also becoming the trend for applications in different fields. However, despite the importance of SoLoMo, there have been little studies on the characteristics of SoLoMo applications. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of characteristics and perceived privacy risk of mobile location-based SNS on intention to use SoLoMo applications. For the purpose, we proposed a SoLoMo service acceptance model with TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) and the characteristics of SoLoMo applications. The characteristics consist of three factors, i.e. SNS, location, and mobile-related factors. This study also considered a gamification and a perceived privacy risk factor influencing on SoLoMo service usage in our proposed research model. The results of our empirical analysis using partial least squares (PLS) method show that the characteristics of SoLoMo applications including SNS, location, and mobile-related features, gamification, and perceived privacy risk have partially an effect on intention to use SoLoMo applications. Based on these results, SoLoMo-related companies will be able to increase the usage of SoLoMo services by differentiating their own strategies with these factors influencing on SoLoMo services.
A Method for Analyzing Web Log of the Hadoop System for Analyzing a Effective Pattern of Web Users

Of the various data that corporations can approach, web log data are important data that correspond to data analysis to implement customer relations management strategies. As the volume of approachable data has increased exponentially due to the Internet and popularization of smart phone, web log data have also increased a lot. As a result, it has become difficult to expand storage to process large amounts of web logs data flexibly and extremely hard to implement a system capable of categorizing, analyzing, and processing web log data accumulated over a long period of time. This study thus set out to apply Hadoop, a distributed processing system that had recently come into the spotlight for its capacity of processing large volumes of data, and propose an efficient analysis plan for large amounts of web log. The study checked the forms of web log by the effective web log collection methods and the web log levels by using Hadoop and proposed analysis techniques and Hadoop organization designs accordingly. The present study resolved the difficulty with processing large amounts of web log data and proposed the activity patterns of users through web log analysis, thus demonstrating its advantages as a new means of marketing.
Design and Implementation for Card Holder Initiated Card Payment System Using the Mobile Devices

Payment system is defined as the various contracts and operating facilities for the transfer of monetary value to clear the relationship between credit and debt. Payment systems essentially require the efficient and reliable operations. Card-based payment systems are developed practically and creatively in accordance with the progress of ICT. Especially in mobile environment with intelligent mobile devices such as smart-phones and tablets, a variety of payment services are provided. Existing card-based payment services are configured by the payment transaction initiated by the merchants card acceptance and then swiping into the CAT (Card Authorization Terminal) to begin the transaction. The merchant initiated payment services are now applied to the Wireless CAT (W-CAT) for mobile environment. That kind of payment services cause many problems such the illegal card information leaks and the lingering threat of W-CAT theft. Also, the use of many W-CATs increased cost to the merchant. In this paper, we propose the card holder initiated card payment system using the intelligent mobile devices in mobile environment for solving problems of the existing merchant initiated card payment system and coping effectively with the activation of a wireless data network and changes of information technology.
An eBook Adoption Model Based on Smart Devices

The widespread use of smart phones and smart pads has given rise to the use of eBook services based on these smart devices. Consequently, the size of eBook services has exploded both in the domestic as well as overseas market. However, the growth curve becomes flatter than before, and the adoption rate is still not high in Korea. Hence, this study explores the factors affecting the intention to use eBook services based on smart devices, and their relationships. Finally, we propose an eBook adoption model, which extends the Technology Adoption Model. An online survey was conducted to validate the research model. By applying Partial Least Squares, we found that there are strong relationships among perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, social influence, and intention to use. In addition, we found that smart devices enjoyment positively affects the perceived playfulness of eBooks, and that personal innovativeness positively affects perceived ease of use. Our findings shed some light on how to design eBook services based on smart devices.
Individual Interests Tracking : Beyond Macro-level Issue Tracking

Recently, the volume of unstructured text data generated by various social media has been increasing rapidly; consequently, the use of text mining to support decision-making has also been growing. In particular, academia and industry are paying significant attention to topic analysis in order to discover the main issues from a large volume of text documents. Topic analysis can be regarded as static analysis because it analyzes a snapshot of the distribution of various issues. In contrast, some recent studies have attempted to perform dynamic issue tracking, which analyzes and traces issue trends during a predefined period. However, most traditional issue tracking methods have a common limitation : when a new period is included, topic analysis must be repeated for all the documents of the entire period, rather than being conducted only on the new documents of the added period. Additionally, traditional issue tracking methods do not concentrate on the transition of individuals` interests from certain issues to others, although the methods can illustrate macro-level issue trends. In this paper, we propose an individual interests tracking methodology to overcome the two limitations of traditional issue tracking methods. Our main goal is not to track macro-level issue trends but to analyze trends of individual interests flow. Further, our methodology has extensible characteristics because it analyzes only newly added documents when the period of analysis is extended. In this paper, we also analyze the results of applying our methodology to news articles and their access logs.
A Study on Factors Affecting Continuous Usage Intention of Emoticon : Focused on Mobile Messenger Service

Mobile instant messaging (MIM) has been widely used in modern society due to its portability, speed and ease of use. In addition to simple text-based messaging, mobile instant message has now expanded to include graphics, images, and video. Many instant message service providers attempt to differentiate their service by providing an unique emoticon. Therefore, understanding the factors that affecting the continuous usage of emoticon is essential to capture users` interest. There is relatively little study on emoticon in information systems field. Hence, this study attempts to explore the continuous usage of emoticon through exploring the property of emoticon and usage motivation of emoticon. Based on the results, this study attempts to demonstrate practical implication of marketing on understanding user interest to mobile instant messenger service provider.
An Operation of Cloud System for the Centralization Services of Business Documents

This case study focuses on the preparing a guide for the plan to the companies that want to build a business document system for the centralized services under the cloud computing. Total 3 Operating companies with regard to cloud computing issues are introduced for this purpose. Analyzing the usage and development direction of the selected companies were performed to set up plans. Through this in-depth needs of the user`s point of view for the management of business documents, The necessary improvements in the process of collaboration and document sharing were derived. Business documents centralized service plans were proposed based on cloud computing models. Practical experiences of the companies were helpful to present the details of the operational strategy and operational plans. Especially with minimal staff input and verification process, Sample method for the automatic generating of the new document file name is introduced. A test bed before operating the enterprise-wide system were presented with information that is to be considered when building systems.
Analysis of Factors Affecting Intention of Continuous Use for Mobile Wallet Based on the Information System Success Model

Mobile payment system using NFC attracted attention as the mobile payment market grows due to the fast diffusion of smart phones. However, non NFC mobile payment recently appeared because of the slow growth of infrastructure for NFC. With advent of Non NFC mobile payment applications, mobile payment industry is in developing trend. Non NFC mobile payment revitalizes the market by overcoming the limit of NFC with the smart applications using bar code and QR code payment, and providing various discounts, membership benefits and payment information. Therefore, this paper analyzed the intention of continuous use with the quality of mobile payment application based on the information system success model. Three categories of factors which are system quality, service quality, and information quality were used. We verified the significance of the factors affecting the intension of continuous use. mainly, quality of information was considered as an important factor of continuous Intention to Use. Also, unlike previous NFC, it was found that in Non-NFC, compatibility might not be as important factor. Moreover, we suggest a marketing strategy of companies for mobile payment industry which focus on information quality. and future research directions for non NFC payment market.
A Study of Establishing Converged Service R&D Infrastructure

Service R&D that adds high value to existing products and service by scientification, IT convergence, intellectualization is a core business of creative economy. It is necessary to examine the service R&D revitalization plan by establishing service R&D hub researching the service R&D because a shortage of facility and infrastructure makes impossible to turn ideas into products (service). This research aims at establishing the implementation plan of service R&D hub that invigorates local service industries and contributes to carry out the plan. Service R&D hub is a focal point of service R&D activities which inter-connects service R&D activities distributed across ministries of central government and fields of studies, and which invigorates service R&D activities and enhances competitive power of service industries in Korea. It is necessary to establish main hub like Service Engineering Research Center in Japan and Fraunhofer IAO in Germany which take the lead in national service R&D activities, and make it build the solid foundation of service R&D activities in public sector and also create service innovation ecosystem. Considering the interdisciplinary characters of service R&D, it is essential to establish additional sub-hubs to meet a variety of demands of service R&D. It is also necessary to establish `Living Lab`, an open innovation system, which connects research institutions, universities, and corporates to make them target the specific fields of their own, and enhance open R&D and innovation in service industries.

Researchers cannot avoid missing data in collecting data, because some respondents arbitrarily or non-arbitrarily do not answer questions in studies and experiments. Missing data not only increase and distort standard deviations, but also impair the convenience of estimating parameters and the reliability of research results. Despite widespread use of hot deck, researchers have not been interested in it, since it handles missing data in ambiguous ways. Hot deck can be complemented using K-nn, a method of machine learning, which can organize donor groups closest to properties of missing data. Interested in the role of k-nn, this study was conducted to impute missing data based on the hot deck method using k-nn. After setting up imputation of missing data based on hot deck using k-nn as a study objective, deletion of listwise, mean, mode, linear regression, and svm imputation were compared and verified regarding nominal and ratio data types and then, data closest to original values were obtained reasonably. Simulations using different neighboring numbers and the distance measuring method were carried out and better performance of k-nn was accomplished. In this study, imputation of hot deck was re-discovered which has failed to attract the attention of researchers. As a result, this study shall be able to help select non-parametric methods which are less likely to be affected by the structure of missing data and its causes.
The Application of Image-Oriented SNS Marketing Channel for Improving Performance of Online Shopping Malls : Pinterest Case Analysis

There is a phenomenon that the consumers from all over the countries are using the Korean online shopping malls, which has settled as a distribution industry. To get the attention of the consumers from other countries, the marketing strategy is important in order for the online shopping malls to go advance abroad. The purpose of this study is to overview the Pinterest, which is a shopping-oriented Social Network Service (SNS) based on the image content. The Pinterest is a valuable online shopping mall marketing channel. By looking at the background growth and feature of service, the existence of the mega SNS as a center in the social business is to see how Pinterest is targeting a niche market. As a result of this study, Pinterest has the advantage against other SNS for joining with online shopping malls because a tendency of the traffic referrals from Pinterest is increasing and the average of the cost of the purchase is high. Therefore, this study is reflecting various cases of utilizing the online shopping malls. In conclusion, Pinterest represents an illustrative case of effective marketing channel of the online shopping malls.
Processes and Methods for Eliciting Software and System Requirements from Users` Opinions in Mobile App

For mobile service organizations, it is one of the most important tasks to reflect users` opinions rapidly and accurately. In this study, the process is defined to elicit requirements of software/system improvement for mobile application by extracting and refining from users` opinion in mobile app, and detailed activities procession method in this processing are also proposed. The process consists of 3 activities to get requirements of software/system improvement for mobile app. First activity is to transform mobile app to software structure and define term dictionary. Second activity is to elicit simple sentences based on software from users` opinion and refine them. The last activity is to integrate and adjust refined requirements. To verify the usability and validity of the proposed process and the methods, the outputs of manual processing and semi-automated processing were compared. As a result, efficiency and improvement possibility of the process were confirmed through extraction ratio of requirements, comparison of execution time, and analysis of agreement ratio.
