The Phased Model of Success Factors in BPR Implementation for Public Corporations

The object of this study is to elicit major success factors along with the phases of implementing the BPR in case of public corporations. To obtain the goal of this research, (1) this study reviews and integrates the major previous BPR studies and shows critical success factors of implementing BPR projects coincided with the characteristics of the public organizations. (2) This study has analyzed and arranged the details of BPR projects of public corporations in South Korea through the literature survey, the questionnaire and the interview. (3) This study classifies 40 critical success factors which were identified in existing studies into ones belonging to 3 phases of BPR projects implementation: Introduction Phase, Execution Phase and Stabilization Phase. (4) This study has tested the relation between critical success factors on each stage of BPR projects implementation and the performance variables. It has proven that there is the statistically significant correlation between the success factors and the performance. The findings of this study are thought not only to be useful as a practical guideline in carrying out BPR project Implementation but also to provide significant basis for constructing the theoretical framework of effective BPR project implementation strategy.
An Effect on the Audit Quality and Customer Satisfaction by Information System Audit Style

Information system audit of Korea is different from that of the United States of America, Japan and so on. Information system audit improves the quality of information system. Information system audit of Korea carried out administrative branches. Recently Public sides required ordinary audit frequently. The reason is that the risk of information system project has increased. Examined closely relation between audit quality and audit style such as ordinary audit, fixed period audit, residence audit, and responsibility audit. And, wished to examine closely relation between audit quality and customer satisfaction. As research result, being effect factor that audit style keeps in mind in audit quality, also, audit quality in audit satisfaction, and was proved that exert effect that ordinary audit, report to the responsibility audit or sense of responsibility state keeps in mind in audit satisfaction.
A Study on Improvement of Subcontracting System for Software Project

Small/medium software businesses are often at a disadvantage when trying to win government contracts. Rather, most of small/medium software companies work with larger companies in the form of subcontracting. In its broadest meaning, subcontracting refers to the purchase of a part of a product or process from a different company. Appropriate subcontracting system helps both large and small software firms keep in healthy. However, many problems regarding subcontracting have been reported and recognized as one of major obstacles impeding advancement of the software industry. This paper examines the current problems in subcontracting system by conducting a field survey and proposes directions to improve the system for software project. It suggests revision of 'Software Industry Promotion Act' to induce fair relationship among software firms.
A Study on Software Product-Line Architecture Design Process

S/W product line is a S/W product or a set of S/W system, which has common functions. We can develop a specific S/W product, which satisfiesrequirements of a particular market segment and a mission in a specific domain by reusing the core asset such as the developed S/W architecture through the S/W product line. S/W development methodology based on the S/W product line can develop a S/W more easily and fast by reusing the developed S/W core asset. An advanced country of S/W technology selects S/W product line as a core field of S/W production technology, and support technology development. In case of USA, CMU/SEI (Carnegie Mellon University / Software Engineering Institute) developed product-line framework 4.0 together with the industry and the Ministry of National Defense. Europe is supporting the development of product line technology through ITEA(IT for European Advancement) program. In this paper, we aim to construct reference architecture of S/W product line for production of the S/W product line.
Ubiquitous Data Warehosue: Integrating RFID with Mutidimensional Online Analysis

RFID is used for tracking systems in various business fields these days and these systems brought considerable efficiencies and cost savings to companies. Real-time based information acquired through RFID devices could be a valuable source of information for making decisions if it is combined with decision support tools like OLAP of a data warehouse that has originally been designed for analyzing static and historical data. As an effort of extending the data source of a data warehouse, RFID is combined with a data warehouse in this research. And OLAP is designed to analyze the dynamic real-time based information gathered through RFID devices. The implemented prototype shows that ubiquitous computing technology such as RFID could be a valuable data source for a data warehouse and is very useful for making decisions when it is combined with online analysis. The system architecture of such system is suggested.
The Technology of Device-to-Device Integration using Web Services

The beginning of Web Services was understood as efficient technology for application integration in the internet, thus it was used to integrating the distributed enterprise applications or the e-business applications between partners. But, recently the usage trend of Web Services is largely spreaded out wireless network applications beyond the internet applications. The main reasons are that Web Services is the international standard of W3C, and Web Services is based on XML that is independent of the specific internal implementations such as platform, programming languages, communications networks etc. Currently Major company of Web Services such as MS, IBM, etc. focus on the research about technology for integrating various devices. In this paper, we define and explain technical issues for adapting web services to ubiquitous Environment.
A Study of Characteristics and Structure of Negotiation Message using Electronic Commerce Market Classification

With the proliferation of EC, many customers have been participating into online auction or group-buying market over searching internet shopping-malls to purchase goods. To support the customer's convenient transaction, lots of agent systems are developed to facilitate the customer's product brokering, merchant brokering, and negotiation of transaction. However, many of these systems have focused upon supporting transaction at only one type of marketplace. Since these marketplaces have different transaction settlement mechanism, it is necessary to develop the system that utilizes the customer's transaction including the selection of the type of marketplace to buy. Then we classify the kinds of B2C electronic marketplace according to the protocol by which the market operated. The structure of negotiation message is developed using XML schema and RDFS under the characteristics and message example of each marketplace in this research.
Design and Implementation of Force Unmount for Linux Filesystem

This paper describes a kernel function named FU(forced unmount) related to filesystem on linux system. FU is a function to forcibly unmount filesystems in despite of busy state of the filesystems. Our current implementation has been developed on linux-2.6.8 and tested in environments that are established by tools, POSTMAR and LTP. This contains considerations of FU and a algorithm to solve problems during developing FU.
Interoperability Testing between Defense Information Systems

Interoperability among defense information systems is one of the most important technologies in the modern information and electronic wars. Computer-aided interviewing has been used in popular for measuring the interoperability among information systems in military domain. In this paper, we suggest a new approach, testing after interviewing, in order to resolve the weakness of interviewing approach. In the testing after reviewing approach, the potential level of interoperability predicted by computer-aided interviewing is explored by distributed testing techniques. For this purpose, test requirements of each interoperability level are identified and appropriate testing model and test cases are suggested. Finally, a distributed testing tool is designed for automating the execution of suggested test cases.
A Study on Web Service Performance Enhancement Using Tuning Model

Because of paradigm change to web service, numerous institutes have been suggested supporting solution about web service, and actively developed system using web service but it is hard to find out a systematic study for web service performance enhancement. Generally, there are SOAP message processing improvement and configuration optimization of server viewpoint for web service performance enhancement. Web service performance enhancement through SOAP message processing improvement have been studied related research but configuration optimization of server is hard to find out a systematic tuning model and performance criteria. In this paper, I suggested performance testing based tuning model and criteria of configuration optimization of server viewpoint. We executed practical analysis using tuning model about web service in internet. This paper show that the proposed tuning model and performance criteria is applicable to web service performance enhancement.
The Feasibility Study of Offshore Outsourcing in Korea SI Industry: Comparison between India and China case

The plenty of successful cases of Multi-national companies has been realized benefits of offshore outsourcing in particular "cost savings" from offshore IT outsourcing services, such as call center, software development, IT support and maintenance etc. A few Korean companies recently started to make the feasibility study of offshore IT outsourcing to catch up with the global trend. The objective of this study is to present the feasibility of offshore IT outsourcing of Korean companies through the analysis of pilot projects results between Indian and Chinese companies. The analysis include key elementsof cost, productivity, quality, practical issues as well as Gartner's framework, "AD Sourcing Cost Model", composed of 7 model factors. The findings of this study are not limited to understand offshore IT outsourcing but also provide useful guidelines covering wide range from the theoretical framework of selecting suitable offshore partner.
