A Study on the Risk Factors for Successful Enterprise Architecture Implementation

Today, Organizations should be equipped with flexibility in order to cope with rapidly changing environment in management. By doing so, they are able to grow and obtain their superior competitiveness in highly developed economic arena. Recently, Enterprise Architecture is actively constructed to perform such a change flexibly. In this regard, it is crucial to figure out some risk factors for the organizations that place an order. Besides, it is also important to find out the quality of EA and some risk factors caused by the organizations that receive an order. Lastly, it is absolutely important to verify the relationship between such factors and outcomes of EA. In this aspect, this study will verify risk factors made by the former organizations and investigate the quality of EA and its outcome by proving the said relationship. In doing so, it will suggest an appropriate direction for the companies that will build up or perform EA successfully.
The Effect of Online Community's Interactivity, Reward, Commitment and Loyalty on Purchase Intention in Portal Sites

This research studied the interactions of online communities, reward, commitment and loyalty to purchase intention in portal sites based on relevant theories. Data were collected from the users who had purchase experiences in potal sites to analyze the effects of interactions and loyalty. An empirical analysis regarding the hypothesized structural equation model was performed using SPSS 10.0 and PLS Graph 3.0. As the result, the interactivity of communities was found significant to commitment and loyalty, the reward of community was shown to significantly influence commitment, but not loyalty. And the commitment and loyalty of community were shown to have much effects on purchase intention. Finally, trust on portal sites were found to have an interaction effect on purchase intention.
An Exploratory Study on the BSC Project Issues Influencing Business Process Innovation

The research is intended to satisfy two interesting research purposes: one is to examine activities of both BSC adotion phase and implementation phase under carrying BSC project. The second purpose is to analyze the influence from those activities towards innovating business world. This study was conducted thru online questionnaires via online survey system during 3 months for targeting mainly on business users and consultants. The findings of the study suggest that employee's involvement, BSC information sharing, collaboration cross task related teams have major roles to operate BSC successfully. From findings, KPI choice, top-down goal allocation, budgeting allocation have strong influences on upgrading business innovations. Those businesses like to considering adoption of BSC can benefit from the findings of the research.
A Study on the Status of ITA/EA Initiatives in Korea

This study is an approach to solve the problem concerning informatization and its investment of the existing information system. In this regard, IT Architecture is becoming a prominent figure, and great efforts are being taken to establishment of related infrastructure environment such as the 1st and 2nd pilot programs, ITA related law's legislation, and development of a reference model and its guidance. Especially, with 'the bill on the introduction and management of the information system' passing the National Assembly, all sorts of environment involved for the introduction of IT Architecture in the future such as establishment of the political foundation for IT Architecture introduction of public organizations, and integrated IT Architecture management system(G-ITAMS) is establishing the constituency. Therefore, this study aims to grasp accurately the actual condition concerning the introduction and utilization of IT Architecture at domestic public organizations, which was followed by investigation to present the right direction in the future, and the findings were discussed in the main body as follows:
An Improvement of Software Company Reporting System of Korea through Empirical Survey

The current software company report system in Korea has many problems in its efficiency and effectiveness. In this paper, we investigated the system by surveying the contracting officials and contractors in software development. By analyzing current status and some problems with the survey results, we derived an feasible improvement scheme for the software company report system. We suggested efficient procedures and reporting items for the registration process, some benefits for contractors, and the short-term direction for its implementation.
A study for Verification Procedures on Open-source Software Via Benchmark Testing

Public institutions are considering adoption of open-source software in the process of information projects. However, there doesn't exist reliable information about an adoption process for open-source software. Performance and stability problems of this software also persist, as a result, current open-source software is not widely used. As a software market and industry grows, Benchmark test has been performed more often than before in order to help customers understand and select the most appropriate product among myriad similar ones. It is certain that more objective and trustful data evidence should be obtained by way of utilizing the procedures and methods of Benchmark Test in decision making process for selecting an open-source software. For this research, Benchmark test was applied as a way of demonstrating performance verification of an open-source software in the public institutions. It is certain that more objective and trustful data evidence should be obtained by way of utilizing the procedures and methods of Benchmark Test in decision making process for selecting an open-source software. It also introduces a case study of a information system, which selected and implemented open-source software, in order to confirm the validity of this research. This research will serve as a guideline to adopt open-source software in governments as well as public institutions.
A Case Study on EAI Implementation for Enterprise Process Integration: Focusing on EAI Project in Deakyo Co

The company cannot optimize its computing environment just with individual solutions such as ERP(enterprise resource planning), SCM(supply chain management), CRM(customer relationship management), and KM(knowledge management). EAI(enterprise application integration) has emerged as an alternative that can optimize computing environment of the company through integrating such solutions and systems of distributed computing and mainframe environment. This paper reports the case study of Deakyo Co. in successfully implementing EAI. It describes project goal, project organization, project plan, the implemented EAI configuration and its features, the EAI effectiveness to the firm, and the critical success factors of the EAI project. This case study is thought to be useful as a practical guideline in carrying out EAI project of the company and to provide significant basis for constructing the theoretical framework of EAI project methodology.
A Study on the Scheme of Information System Audit for Institute of Knowledge Information

With the growth and maturation of IT industry, the necessity of audit about development, maintenance and management of high-quality information system is gradually increasing. In addition, the necessity of inner auditing system, which could totally verify and evaluate the effectiveness of project according to the characteristics of organization conducting information-oriented business, also being proposed. Government offices including Korea Institute of Science and Technology(KISTI) collectively controlling nationwide science-technology related information have no guiding principle or organization within themselves even though performing information-oriented businesses are becoming more bigger and complicated. In this paper, we propose scheme for devising framework, which can audit construction and operation of knowledge information, check list and guideline. In addition, we present concrete ways for adapting these schemes to institutes which manage science-technology knowledge information. Audit framework consists of points of time in audit, audit domain and audit criterion. Points of time in audit are defined as three phases as followings: pre-audit, in-progress audit and post-audit. Audit domain includes 16 detail audit domains and especially we set 11 check items and 40 detail investigation items for database implementation business. We expect that management level of science-technology implementation business of organizations using this research result will increase and they could offer high-quality information service.
Mapping Emerging Business Models in Massively Multiplayer Online Games

The authors map some of the current Business Models in the Massively Multiplayer Online Player scenario. These maps represent Value Creation Systems by resorting to Value Net constructs and notations, and are offered here as a proof of concept and utility. The authors claim that these mappings can enable readers, managers and IT experts, to build new insights onto such Business Models and develop requirements for Information System infrastructure. When approaching the Value Creation System as a Value Net the goal is to think outside the conceptual box of Value Chains and understand how the different activities interact, by exposing the multiplicity of value types and flows. In doing this study the authors are attempting to synthesize a new Business Model proposal that could underlie the development of an infrastructure for the collaborative creation, distribution and exploration of online massively multiplayer games, beyond the traditional producer-consumer roles.
Effects of Strategic Resources on Technology Commercialization

The purpose of this research was to examine the factors that affect colleges that play an important role in technology commercialization as technology provider, and enterprises as technology user engaging in technology transfer commercialization by dividing it into strategic resource factor. And this study was also intended to present a strategic meaning and perspective relative to colleges and enterprises as well. To do this, those factors that have influences on technology transfer commercialization were elicited through investigation of literatures, and classified into strategic resource factors to suit research purpose, and based on these information, research hypothesis and research model were established and designed. Research results improved that some enterprises among benefited from technology transfer.
A Design of X-internet Development Framework by Using Flash Component and Service API

In this paper, we designed a new type of X-internet framework by using Flash component and server service API and analyzed its performance. Proposed X-internet framework uses Flash MX Professional 2004, Java, and software which opened middleware and database. Since proposed framework use the server service API that we developed in this paper and Flash player, this framework does not need server module. Proposed framework enables to obtain design with dynamic user interface compare to Web application and enables to reduce development time. In analytical results, it has been shown that proposed x-internet framework have efficient characteristics such as network traffic, low development cost and dynamic user interface implementation. Since proposed X-internet framework can operate in environment of current developer friendly, it is useful for development of various new application programs and we confirm it through Flash web mail implementation by using proposed x-internet framework.
A Study of the PMI-based XML Access Control Model in Consideration of the Features of the Public Organization

The local public organizations, to secure the Confidentiality, Integrity, Authentication and Non-Repudiation of cyber administrative environment is giving it a try to consolidate the official documents among them by standardizing all the documents into XML formats together with the establishment of the GPKI(Government Public Key Infrastructure). The Authentication System based on the PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) used by the GPKI, however, provides only the simple User Authentication and thus it results in the difficulty in managing the position, task, role information of various users required under the applied task environment of public organizations. It also has a limitation of not supporting the detailed access control with respect to the XML-based public documents.In order to solve these issues, this study has analyzed the security problems of Authentication and access control system used by the public organizations and has drawn the means of troubleshoot based on the analysis results through the scenario and most importantly it suggests the access control model applied with PMI and SAML and XACML to solve the located problem.
A Study on the Selection of Information System Developer using AHP

Nowadays, many organizations more increasingly show their interests in developing informations systems through not only in-house development but outsourcing. Selecting a proper information system developer, however, is not easy task partly due to the absence of evaluation criteria pertinent to explain the pros and cons of information system developers considered. Further, much care should be taken of choosing an appropriate decision method applicable to semi-structured or strategical decision making problems such as selection of information system developer even though evaluation criteria are well provided. The purpose of this paper is to provide for the selection process, ranging from identification of problem structure to solution method, of information system developer with the use of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).
