Regarding the Preliminary Feasibility Study of National R＆D Program : With Focus on the Applicability of Theory of Attractive Quality

Purpose: This paper discusses the intrinsic assumption of one-dimensional relationship between the upper and lower levels in AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) for the Preliminary Feasibility Study of National R&D Program. This assumptions has not been questioned in academia and industry so far. Methods: This discussion is induced by understanding the Theory of Attractive Quality (Kano et al. 1984) and explains the limitation of AHP in the preliminary feasibility study of national R&D program. Results: In this paper, we propose a new questioning method based on two dimensional perspective, which is named as 2D-AHP (two dimensional AHP), to overcome the limitation. The main idea stems from the observation that the relationship between the upper and lower levels in AHP can vary depending on the subject of R&D. Conclusion: The two dimensional perspective pointed out in this paper should be more deeply studied in the field of MCDM(multi-criteria decision making) since it can be applied to the more general problems in human decision making.
Quality Management in a Manufacturing Environment using a 3D Printer

Purpose: As the number of people directly employed in making things declines, the cost of labour as a proportion of the cost of production and delivery will diminish too. This will make to move the focus of quality management because new manufacturing techniques make it cheaper and faster to respond to changing local tastes Methods: This discussion is induced by understanding that change the point of view of quality. Results: Mark-processing method using a mold of 3D-printer is different from traditional manufacturing methods. Design, rapid prototyping of products produced by the right way, many changes in many industries will be created. Therefore, the design will be more emphasis on the importance of quality. Conclusion: As manufacturing goes digital, a Quality great change is now gathering pace. It will allow things to be made economically in much smaller numbers, more flexibly and with a much lower input of labour, thanks to new materials, completely new processes such as 3D printing. So we must change the vantage point of quality, from process to Design, R&D, and Delivery.
Clinical Information Protection Behavior in a Medical Institution : Based on Health Psychology Theories

Purpose: This research aims to find out clinical information protection behavior within a medical institution in mandatory circumstance based on health psychology theories Methods: This research has developed the survey based on the variables from ealth psychology theories; and conducted the survey during the whole month in April 2013. In the end, 256 samples have been used for this research`s analysis. Results: First of all, Empirical results has proved that perceived benefits, self-efficacy, and cues to action have an positive influence on clinical information protection behavior. Perceived barriers has an negative influence. Finally, it has proven from the research that perceived severity and perceived susceptibility do not have an impact on clinical inf ormation protection behavior Conclusion: These findings provide an enriched understanding about medical institution workers information protection behavior on patient`s clinical information.
An Research on Improvement of Eco-Labelling Certification -Focused on Certification System of Biodegradable Resin-

Purpose: This study analyzes the strategical priority to improve eco-labelling certification system, focused on biodegradable resin. Methods: This study will come up with measures to operate the eco-Label certification system related to biodegradable products more effectively and efficiently by discovering various problems related to the system, using causal loop diagram and AHP analysis. Results: This study shows that the government should play more important role while firms could also serve their roles in the initial and stabilizing stages of the eco-labelling certification system, in order to vitalize the eco-Label certification system more effective. Conclusion: This study addresses strategic eco-labelling policies on governmental and firm`s operation and providers guidance to practitioners in addressing strategic decision relating to eco-labelling certification system.
On Feasibility Study of the Charged Particle Beam Pretreatment Process for Non-conducting Metal Coating

Purpose: Since several problems were found when present non-conducting metal coating process was applied to mass production, we study and develop to improve those problems. Methods: In this paper, a couple of analysis methods such as surface hardness, XPS spectrum analysis, morphology, and reflection ratio were used. Results: This paper suggest a new possibility of Non-conducting thin metal coating method that has quality of mass production phase without UV coating process. Conclusion: By the result of analysis, we can set optimized process conditions of the electro deposition coating using electron beam.
Developing Global Masterpiece Index and the Evaluation Method of a Masterpiece

Purpose: To reinforce the product competitiveness of Korean small and medium-sized business in the world market. Methods: By clarifying the definition of a masterpiece, developing global masterpiece quality index(MQI) equipped with checklists, surveying several companies and customers, and analyzing the results of the survey via the MQ zone diagram. Results: The results of the survey show the gap between Korean small and medium-sized business and global masterpiece companies in terms of MQI. From this analysis, in order for the surveyed Korean companies to be the world-class ones, the managerial aspects to be improved could be clearly pointed out through the measurement indices. Conclusion: This research would provide Korean small and medium-sized companies, which wish to get on the global masterpiece level, with an objective guideline.
Bayesian Reliability Estimation of a New Expendable Launch Vehicle

Purpose: This paper explains how to obtain the Bayes estimates of the whole launch vehicle and of a vehicle stage, respectively, for a newly developed expendable launch vehicle. Methods: We determine the parameters of the beta prior distribution using the upper bound of the 60% Clopper-Pearson confidence interval of failure probability which is calculated from previous launch data considering the experience of the developer. Results: Probability that a launch vehicle developed from an inexperienced developer succeeds in the first launch is obtained by about one third, which is much smaller than that estimated from the previous research. Conclusion: The proposed approach provides a more conservative estimate than the previous noninformative prior, which is more reasonable especially for the initial reliability of a new vehicle which is developed by an inexperienced developer.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop the statistical test for process capability index
based on mixture normal process. Methods: This study uses Bootstrap method to calculate the approximate P-value for various simulation conditions under mixture normal process. Results: This study indicates that our proposed method is effective way to test for process capability index
based on mixture normal process. Conclusion: This study finds out that statistical test for process capability index
based on mixture normal process is useful for real application.
Development of Prediction Model for Churn Agents -Comparing Prediction Accuracy Between Pattern Model and Matrix Model-

Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to develop a model for predicting agent churn group in the cosmetics industry. We develope two models, pattern model and matrix model, which are compared regarding the prediction accuracy of churn agents. Finally, we try to conclude if there is statistically significant difference between two models by empirical study. Methods: We develop two models using the part of RFM(Recency, Frequency, Monetary) method which is one of customer segmentation method in traditional CRM study. In order to ensure which model can predict churn agents more precisely between two models, we used CRM data of cosmetics company A in China. Results: Pattern model and matrix model have been developed. we find out that there is statistically significant differences between two models regarding the prediction accuracy. Conclusion: Pattern model and matrix model predict churn agents. Although pattern model employed the trend of monetary mount for six months, matrix model that used the amount of sales per month and the duration of the employment is better than pattern model in prediction accuracy.
Extracting Priorities of Strategic Components of Product Liability Response System using AHP

Purpose: To develop efficient PL response system, SMEs should decide which component of PL response system is important and implemented with priority under limited resources. To accomplish this goal, we propose strategic priority components of PL response system for SME manufacturer. Methods: We categorize the components of PL response system based on prior research results - System, Organization, Training, Technology, Cost, and Awareness. AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is applied to extract important components of PL response system, which is used in assigning the priority of component. To analyze effects of each components, performance sensitivity analysis is applied. Results: The survey analysis results show Technology is the most important components. Organization and Cost component are follows. As the importance of Technology is changed, we can find Organization, Cost is second and third important components. Conclusion: Our research shows Technology which is related to make a safe product with systematic process, is a basic enabler of PL response system. Also, building a PL team and securing a budget for PL activity should be carry out with limited resources.
A Case Study on the Quality Evaluation of the Leading Small Domestic Appliances in the Global Market - Focusing on the Food Dehydrator -

Purpose: The aim of this study is to gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace by examining the current situation of three domestic Food Dehydrator companies` products. Food Dehydrators are sort of small domestic appliances(SDA), first introduced by Korean companies. Furthermore, this study suggests the improvement plans in the rapidly changing world situation. Methods: Evaluate through comparing three domestic Food Dehydrator companies` products based on the PQI(Premium Quality Index) model, developed by product quality evaluation experts group. Results: At first, we classified evaluation factors into three parts - usability quality, emotional quality - and each of the factors includes sub factors. Under this condition, the results of this study are as follows; the brand quality is remaining at a high satisfaction level compare to other two factors but emotional quality is assessed to be low. This study has shown at customers consider brand and usability quality factors as the most important factor due to the nature of the product. Conclusion: As the possibility of increasing customer needs such as product design and sensitive quality besides usability quality has risen in a competitive global market, the manufacturing companies in Korea are recommended to put forth the necessary effort to improve their product quality, especially in terms of emotional quality.
