Surface Flaw Detection of Cold-Rolled Steel Strips using Intensity Gradient

This paper presents a method of detecting surface flaw of cold-rolled steel plate using image processing technique and a neural network classifier. The amount of steel plate surface image data is reduced by the wavelet transform. Features are extracted from the co-occurence matrix of the partial image corresponding to the low-frequency region, and a MLP neural network classifies into predetermined surface flaw categories. Simulations show the neural network classifier outperforms conventional vector quantization method.
A Study on Fuzzy Traffic Signal control using Analytic Hierarchy Process

This paper proposes the use of the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) controller for obtaining optimal cycle time of traffic intersection signal. By means of simulations that have data from expert traffic estimators, the performance of AHP controller is compared with a fixed-time controller and fuzzy controller. A simulation was executed using data obtained from many expert interviewer of Ansan City hall rotary. The principal issue is how AHP controller algorithm can aid traffic signal supervisor to construct an expert system for traffic intersection signal control. This paper has two steps: (I) we shall present a new methodology based on the work of Satty for calculating a scale of importance of each of the objectives, (2) we also consider that the human's decision mechanism is represented by approximating reasoning where the fuzzy integral is used.
Design on Fult Diagnosis System based on Dynamic Fuzzy Model

This paper presents a new FDI scheme based on dynamic fuzzy model(DFM) for the unknown nonlinear system, which can detect and isolate process faults continuously over all ranges of operating condition. The dynamic behavior of a nonlinear process is represented by a set of local linear models. The parameters of the DFM are identified by an on-line methods. The residual vector of the FDI system is consisted of the parameter deviations from nominal model and the set of grade of membership values indicating the operating condition of the nonlinear process. The detection and isolation of faults are performed via a neural network classifier that are learned the relationship between the residual vector and fault type. We apply the proposed FDI scheme to the FDI system design for a two-tank system and show the usefulness of the proposed scheme.

We will prove the existence of final smooth fuzzy topological spaces and final smooth fuzzy closure spaces. From this fact we can define quotient spaces of their spaces.
Chaotic Time Series Prediction using Parallel-Structure Fuzzy Systems

This paper presents a parallel-structure fuzzy system(PSFS) for prediction of time series data. The PSFS consists of a multiple number of fuzzy systems connected in parallel. Each component fuzzy system in the PSFS predicts the same future data independently based on its past time series data with different embedding dimension and time delay. The component fuzzy systems are characterized by multiple-input singleoutput( MIS0) Sugeno-type fuzzy rules modeled by clustering input-output product space data. The optimal embedding dimension for each component fuzzy system is chosen to have superior prediction performance for a given value of time delay. The PSFS determines the final prediction result by averaging the outputs of all the component fuzzy systems excluding the predicted data with the minimum and the maximum values in order to reduce error accumulation effect
An Immunity-based Security Antibody Layer Model

With the rising innovative antigens(such as intruders and viruses) through Internet, new secure schemes are expected to perceptively detect and put them down. However, the current hosts over Internet could not properly analyze Internet antigens due to limitations of their system and network resources. In this paper, we introduce an Antibody Layer that mediates proper security services based on the biological mechanism to mpidly disclose and remove innovative antigens. The proposed Antibody Layer also provides three classes to make agreed-on security parameters set up easily with respect to real-time security QoS for one host as well as host alliances.

A Study on Identification of Optimal Fuzzy Model Using Genetic Algorithm

A identification algorithm that finds optimal fuzzy membership functions and rule base to fuzzy model isproposed and a fuzzy controller is designed to get more accurate position and velocity control of wheeled mobile robot. This procedure that is composed of three steps has its own unique process at each step. The elements of output term set are increased at first step and then the rule base is varied according to increase of the elements. The adjusted system is in competition with system which doesn't include any increased elements. The adjusted system will be removed if the system lost. Otherwise, the control system is replaced with the adjusted system. After finished regulation of output term set and rule base, searching for input membership functions is processed with constraints and fine tuning of output membership functions is done.
Initial fuzzy quasi-proximities

We prove the existence of initial fuzzy quasi-proximity spaces. We study the relationship between the initial structure of the fuzzy closure spaces and that of fuzzy quasi-proximity spaces. We give some examples of those.
Fuzzy Controller for Nonlinear Systems Using Optimal Pole Placement

This paper addresses the analysis and design of fuzzy-model-based controller for nonlinear systems using extended PDC and optimal pole-placement schemes. In the design procedure, we represent the nonlinear system using a Takagi-Sugeno fkzy model and formulate the controller rules by using the extended parallel distributed compensator (EPDC) and construct an overall fuzzy logic controller by blending all local state feedback controllers with an optimal pole-placement scheme. Unlike the commonly used parallel distributed compensation technique, by blending a newly extended parallel distributed compensator and the optimal poleplacement schemes, we can design not only a local stable k z y controller but also an overall stable fuzzy controller to perform the tacking control objective. Furthermore, a stability analysis is carried out not only for the fuzzy model but also for a real nonlinear system. Finally. the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed fizzy model-based controller design method has been shown through a simulation example.
Design of BAM using an Optimization approach

In this paper, we propose a design method for BAMs(bidirectiona1 associative memories) which can perform the function of bidirectional association efficiently. Based on the theoretical investigation about the properties of BAMs, we first formulate the problem of finding a BAM that can store the given pattern pairs as stable states with high error correction ratio in the form of a constrained optimization problem. Next, we transform the constrained optimization problem into a GEVP(genera1ized eigenvalue problem), which can be solved by recently developed interior point methods. The applicability of the proposed method is illustrated via design examples.
The optimizing in fuzzy queueing system(Multi-server)

All the visiting customers makes a queue and then can be served at an unoccupied server, in the queueing system of multi-server. The customer and server, however, have a conflictive feeling of satisfaction at all times. To solve the problem, in this paper, it is proposed that new design method of server number to maximize the satisfaction level of customer and server by the hzzy concept which is applied to the queuing system.
