A Generation from Entity-Relationship Model to XML Schema Model

The XML is emerging as standard language for data exchange on the Web. Therefore the demand of XML Schema(W3C XML Schema Spec.) that verifies XML document becomes increasing. However, XML Schema has a weak point for design because of its complication despite of various data and abundant expressiveness. This paper shows a simple way of design for XML Schema using a fundamental means for database design, the Entity-Relationship model. The conversion from the Entity-Relationship model to XML Schema can not be directly on account of discordance between the two models. So we present some algorithms to generate XML Schema from the Entity-Relationship model. The algorithms produce XML Schema codes using a hierarchical view representation. An important objective of this automatic generation is to preserve XML Schema's characteristics such as reusability, global and local ability, ability of expansion and various type changes.
Data Retrieval by Multi-Dimensional Signal Space Partitioning

This paper deals with a systematic approach for the construction of the fixed-delay tree search (FDTS) detector in the intersymbol interference channel. The approach is based on the efficient multi-dimensional space partitioning. The Voronoi diagram (VoD) and the Delaunay tessellation (DT) of the multi-dimensional space are applied to implement the algorithm. In the proposed approach, utilizing the geometric information contained in the VOD/DT, the relative location of the observation sequence is determined which has been shown to reduce the implementation complexity. Detailed construction procedures are discussed followed by an example from the intersymbol interference communication channel.
A Single Server-based Secure Electronic Sealed-Bid Auction Method

This paper presents a new method to securely conduct online sealed-bid auctions with a single auctioneer server The sealed-bid auctions have several vulnerable security problems when they are performed on the Internet. One of such problems is the trust establishment between an auctioneer and bidders who participate in an auction. Several online sealed-bid auction methods have been developed to address this trust problem. The proposed method solves the security problems that would happen in the sealed-bid auction using a blind signature scheme and a contract signature protocol. It prevents the auctioneer from illegally manipulating the bidders' bidding information, repudiating the reception of some bid, manipulating the auction period, and illegally adding or deleting bids. In addition, it keeps the bidders from modifying the bidding information after issuing their bid and doing intentional mistake to invalidate their own bid. The method can be easily implemented using the multiagent architecture.
A Cache Hoarding Method Using Collaborative Filtering in Mobile Computing Environments

In this paper, we proposed an efficient cache hoarding method in mobile computing environments using collaborative filtering. This method is used for solving the difficult problem of mobile computing, which is the vacuum of information service depending on low bandwidth, long delay, and frequent network disconnection. Many previous researches have been studied a cache hoarding approach for solving these problems of mobile client. But, the research of history information of mobile client did not support all informative requests for mobile clients. In our research, collaborative filtering model using history information and location data of mobile client is proposed. This proposed model supports an efficient service of necessary items for client's requirement. For the performance evaluation of proposed model, we make an experiment of simulation data using SAS enterprise miner. According to objective evaluation using cache hit ratio, we show that our model has a good result.
A Study on Position Control of 2-Mass Resonant System Using Iterative Learning Control

In this paper, an iterative learning control method is applied to suppress a vibration of a 2-mass system which has a flexible coupling between a load and a motor. More specifically, conditions for the load speed without vibration are derived based on the steady-state condition. And the desired motor position trajectory is synthesized based on the relation between the load and motor speed. Finally, a PD-type iterative learning control law is applied for the desired motor position trajectory. Since the learning law applied for the desired trajectory guarantees the perfect tracking performance, the resulting load speed shows no vibration even when there exist model uncertainties. A modification to the learning law is also Presented to suppress undesired effects of an initial position error, The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed learning method.
Development of Distributed Autonomous Robotic Systerrt Based on Classifier System and Artificial Immune Network

This paper proposes a Distributed Autonomous Robotic System(DARS) based on an Artificial Immune System(AIS) and a Classifier System(CS). The behaviors of robots in the system are divided into global behaviors and local behaviors. The global behaviors are actions to search tasks in environment. These actions are composed of two types: aggregation and dispersion. AIS decides one among these two actions, which robot should select and act on in the global. The local behaviors are actions to execute searched tasks. The robots learn the cooperative actions in these behaviors by the CS in the local. The proposed system is more adaptive than the existing system at the viewpoint that the robots learn and adapt the changing of tasks.
Detection of Rotor Position at Standstill for a TSRM Using Neural Network

In this paper, detection of rotor position at standstill of toroidal switched reluctance motor(TSRM) with built-in search coils using neural network is proposed. When search coils are used as a position sensor, it has many advantages like low cost, decrease in the volume, high robust characteristics and wide applications. However, the initial rotor position detection is very difficult because the search coil's EMF doesn't exist at standstill. In this paper, detection of initial rotor position of TSRM with built-in search coils using neural network is suggested. The experiment for the proposed method are presented. As a result of that, the accuracy and validity of the proposed method is verified.
Interval Type-2 Fuzzy C Clustering for Detecting Spherical Shells

This paper presents an interval type-2 fuzzy C-spherical shells (FCSS) algorithm that is an extension of the type-1 FCSS algorithm proposed in (1). In our proposed method, the membership values for each pattern vector are extended as interval type-2 fuzzy memberships by assigning uncertainty to the type-1 memberships. By doing so, the cluster boundary obtained by the interval type-2 FCSS can be found to be more desirable than that of type-1 FCSS in the presence of noise. Experimental results are given to show the effectiveness of our method.

Robot systems have applied to manufacturing or industrial field for reducing the need for human presence in dangerous and/or repetitive tasks. However, robot applications are transformed from industrial field to human life in recent tendency Nowadays, final goal of robot is to make a intelligent robot that can understand what human say and learn by itself and have internal emotion. For example Home service robots are able to provice functions such as security, housework, entertainment, education and secretary To provide various functions, home robots need to recognize human`s requirement and environment, and it is indispensable to use artificial intelligence technology for implementation of home robots. In this paper, implemented robot system takes data from several sensors and fuses the data to recognize environment information. Also, it can select a proper behavior for environment using soft computing method. Each behavior is composed with intuitive motion and sound in order to let human realize robot behavior well.
Development of Digital PWM Attitude Controller for Nonlinear Artificial Satellites Using Intelligent Digital Redesign

This paper proposes a pulse-width-modulation (PWM) controller design technique using intelligent digital redesign. Intelligent digital redesign is to convert a well-designed analog fuzzy-model-based controller into an equivalent pulse-amplitude-modulation (PAM) digital controller maintaining the original analog control system in the sense of state-matching. In similar line of conversion concept, the redesigned PAM intelligent digital controller is converted into a PWM controller using the equivalent area principle. To convincingly visualize the proposed technique, an computer simulation example-attitude control of nonlinear artificial satellite system is included.

Currently, the supply of Internet have been generalized. The technique and the equipment using internet are developing. We can use Internet well in an engineering research such timex flows. We can obtain the result and experimentation about a intelligent robot used of advantage that easily use internet. And other equipment can obtain the above experiment and result. Intelligent robot do not be affected by a limitation of wireless because it can load a wireless LAN equipped computer. The experiment is possible in the space which a wireless internet is just possible. In this paper, Internet-based Virtual Laboratory was consisted of a intelligent robot which load control computer and a general computer. Internet-based Virtual Laboratory have a multi-interface.
Knowledge-based Semantic Meta-Search Engine

Retrieving relevant information well corresponding to the user`s request from web is a crucial task of search engines. However, most of conventional search engines based on pattern matching schemes to queries have a limitation that is not easy to provide results corresponding to the user`s request due to the uncertainty of queries. To overcome the limitation in this paper, we propose a framework for knowledge-based semantic meta-search engines with the following five processes: (i) Query formation, (ii) Query expansion, (iii) Searching, (iv) Ranking recreation, and (v) Knowledge base. From simulation results on english-based web documents, we can see that the Proposed knowledge-based semantic meta-search engine provides more correct and better searching results than those obtained by using the Google.
A Study on Information Retrieval of Web Using Local Context Analysts Feedback

In conventional boolean retrieval systems, document ranking is not supported and similarity coefficients cannot be computed between queries and documents. The MMM(Max and Min Model), Paice and P-norm models have been proposed in the past to support the ranking facility for boolean retrieval systems. They have common properties of interpreting boolean operators softly In this paper we propose a new soft evaluation method for web Information retrieval using local context analysis feedback model. We also show through performance comparison that local contort analysis feedback is more efficient and effective than MMM, Paice and P-norm.
Design of Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller for Chattering Reduction

In this paper, we proposed an adaptivefuzzy sliding control algorithm using gradient descent method to reduce chattering phenomenon which is viewed in variable control system. In design of FLC, fuzzy control rules are obtained from expert's experience and intuition and it is very difficult to obtain them. We proposed an adaptive algorithm which is updated by consequence part parameter of control rules in order to reduce chattering phenomenon and simultaneously to satistfy the sliding mode condition. The proposed algorithm has the characteristics which are viewed in conventional VSC, e.g. insensitivity to a class of disturbance, parameter variations and uncertainties in the sliding mode. To demonstrate its performance, the proposed control algorithm is applied to an inverted pendulum system. The results show that both alleviation of chattering and performance are achieved.
Real-time Voice Change System using Pitch Change

In this paper, real-time voice change method using pitch change technique is proposed to change one's voice to the other voice. For this purpose, sampling rate change method using DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) method and time scale modification method using SOLA (Synchronized Overlap and Add) method is combined to change pitch. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, voice transformation experiments were conducted. Experimental results showed that original speech signal is changed to the other speech signal in which original speaker's identity is difficult to find. The system is implemented using TI TMS320C6711DSK board to verify the system runs in real time.
Extraction of Expert Knowledge Based on Hybrid Data Mining Mechanism

This paper presents a hybrid data mining mechanism to extract expert knowledge from historical data and extend expert systems' reasoning capabilities by using fuzzy neural network (FNN)-based learning & rule extraction algorithm. Our hybrid data mining mechanism is based on association rule extraction mechanism, FNN learning and fuzzy rule extraction algorithm. Most of traditional data mining mechanisms are depended ()n association rule extraction algorithm. However, the basic association rule-based data mining systems has not the learning ability. Therefore, there is a problem to extend the knowledge base adaptively. In addition, sequential patterns of association rules can`t represent the complicate fuzzy logic in real-world. To resolve these problems, we suggest the hybrid data mining mechanism based on association rule-based data mining, FNN learning and fuzzy rule extraction algorithm. Our hybrid data mining mechanism is consisted of four phases. First, we use general association rule mining mechanism to develop an initial rule base. Then, in the second phase, we adopt the FNN learning algorithm to extract the hidden relationships or patterns embedded in the historical data. Third, after the learning of FNN, the fuzzy rule extraction algorithm will be used to extract the implicit knowledge from the FNN. Fourth, we will combine the association rules (initial rule base) and fuzzy rules. Implementation results show that the hybrid data mining mechanism can reflect both association rule-based knowledge extraction and FNN-based knowledge extension.
An Interactive Voice Web Browser Usable as a Multimodal Interface in Information Devices by Using VoiceXML

The present Web surroundings is mostly composed of HTML(Hypertext Mark-up Language) and thereby users obtain web informations mainly in GUI(Graphical User Interface) environment by clicking mouse in order to keep up with hyperlinked informations. However it is very inconvenient to work in this environment comparing with easily accessed one in which human`s voice is utilized for obtaining informations. Using VoiceXML, resulted from XML, for supplying the information through telephone on the basis of the contemporary matured technology of voice recognition/synthesis to work out the inconvenience problem, this paper presents the research results about VoiceXML VUI(Voice User Interface) Browser designed and implemented for realizing its technology and also the VoiceXML Dialog designed for the purpose of the browser's efficient use.
Development of a New Max-Min Compositional Rule of Inference in Control Systems

Generally, Max-Min CRI (Compositional Rule of Inference ) method by Zadeh and Mamdani is used in the conventional fuzzy inference. However, owing to the problems of Max-Min CRI method, the inference often results in significant error regions specifying the difference between the desired outputs and the inferred outputs. In this paper, I propose a New Max-Min CRI method which can solve some problems of the conventional Max-Min CRI method. And then this method is simulated in a D.C.series motor, which is a bench marking system in control systems, and showed that the new method performs better than the other fuzzy inference methods.
Performance Enhancement of Face Detection Algorithm using FLD

Many reported methods assume that the faces in an image or an image sequence have been identified and localization. Face detection from image is a challenging task because of the variability in scale, location, orientation and pose. The difficulties in visual detection and recognition are caused by the variations in viewpoint, viewing distance, illumination. In this paper, we present an efficient linear discriminant for multi-view face detection and face location. We define the training data by using the Fisher`s linear discriminant in an efficient learning method. Face detection is very difficult because it is influenced by the poses of the human face and changes in illumination. This idea can solve the multi-view and scale face detection problems. In this paper, we extract the face using the Fisher`s linear discriminant that has hierarchical models invariant size and background. The purpose of this paper is to classify face and non-face for efficient Fisher`s linear discriminant.
A Sparse Data Preprocessing Using Support Vector Regression

In various fields as web mining, bioinformatics, statistical data analysis, and so forth, very diversely missing values are found. These values make training data to be sparse. Largely, the missing values are replaced by predicted values using mean and mode. We can used the advanced missing value imputation methods as conditional mean, tree method, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm. But general imputation models have the property that their predictive accuracy is decreased according to increase the ratio of missing in training data. Moreover the number of available imputations is limited by increasing missing ratio. To settle this problem, we proposed statistical learning theory to preprocess for missing values. Our statistical learning theory is the support vector regression by Vapnik. The proposed method can be applied to sparsely training data. We verified the performance of our model using the data sets from UCI machine learning repository.
The Complexity of the Static Structures of Object-Oriented Systems by Analyzing the Class Diagram of UML

Many researches and validations for the complexity metrics of the object-oriented systems have been studied. Most of them are aimed for the measurement of the partial aspects of the systems, for example, the coupling between objects, the complexity of inheritance structures, the cohesion of methods, and so on. But the software practitioners want to measure the complexity of overall system, not partial. We studied the complexity of the overall structures of object-oriented systems by analyzing the class diagram of UML. The class diagram is composed of classes and their relations. There are three kinds of relations, association, generalization, and aggregation, which are making the structure of object-oriented systems to be difficult to understand. We proposed a heuristic metric to measure the complexity of object-oriented systems by putting together the three kinds of the relations. This metric will be helpful to the software developers for their designing tasks by evaluating the complexity of the structures of object-oriented system and redesigning tasks of the system.
