The Improvement of Convergence Rate in n-Queen Problem Using Reinforcement learning

The purpose of reinforcement learning is to maximize rewards from environment, and reinforcement learning agents learn by interacting with external environment through trial and error. Q-Learning, a representative reinforcement learning algorithm, is a type of TD-learning that exploits difference in suitability according to the change of time in learning. The method obtains the optimal policy through repeated experience of evaluation of all state-action pairs in the state space. This study chose n-Queen problem as an example, to which we apply reinforcement learning, and used Q-Learning as a problem solving algorithm. This study compared the proposed method using reinforcement learning with existing methods for solving n-Queen problem and found that the proposed method improves the convergence rate to the optimal solution by reducing the number of state transitions to reach the goal.
Improved Fuzzy Clusteirng

In this paper, we propose a new fuzzy clustering scheme that optimizes the initial structure and the parameters to improve the performance of a intelligent systems. The proposed method keeps the good properties of clustering, and improves the total systems' performance at the same time, Especially, the proposed algorithm not only keeps robust to change threshold value in the optimization process, but also improves the performance of a system through the process of the self-organizing and the converging intelligent systems in its structure of cluster. In experiments, the superiority of the proposed scheme is presented by comparing its performance with other methods.
On-line Signature Verification Using Fusion Model Based on Segment Matching and HMM

The segment matching method shows better performance than the global and points-based methods to compare reference signature with an input signature. However, the segment-to-segment matching method has the problem of decreasing recognition rate according to the variation of partitioning points. This paper proposes a fusion model based on the segment matching and HMM to construct a more reliable authentic system. First, a segment matching classifier is designed by conventional technique to calculate matching values lot dynamic information of signatures. And also, a novel HMM classifier is constructed by using the principal component analysis to calculate matching values for static information of signatures. Finally, SVM classifier is adopted to effectively combine two independent classifiers. From the various experiments, we find that the proposed method shows better performance than the conventional segment matching method.
Emotional Expression System Based on Dynamic Emotion Space

It is difficult to define and classify human emotion. These vague human emotion appear not in single emotion, but in combination of various emotion. And among them, a remarkable emotion is expressed. This paper proposes a emotional expression algorithm using dynamic emotion space, which give facial expression in similar with vague human emotion. While existing avatar express several predefined emotions from database, our emotion expression system can give unlimited various facial expression by expressing emotion based on dynamically changed emotion space. In order to see whether our system practically give complex and various human expression, we perform real implementation and experiment and verify the efficacy of emotional expression system based on dynamic emotion space.
Design of Neuro-Fuzzy Controller using Relative Gain Matrix

In the fuzzy control for the multi-variable system, it is difficult to obtain the fuzzy rule. Therefore, the parallel structure of the independent single input-single output fuzzy controller using a pairing between the input and output variable is applied to the multi-variable system. However, among the input/output variables which arc not paired the interactive effects should be taken into account. these mutual coupling of variables affect the control performance. Therefore, for the control system with a strong coupling property, the control performance is sometimes lowered. In this paper, the effect of mutual coupling of variables is considered by the introduction of a neuro-fuzzy controller using relative gain matrix. This proposed neuro-fuzzy controller automatically adjusts the mutual coupling weight between variables using a neural network which is realized by back-propagation algorithm. The good performance of the proposed nero-fuzzy controller is verified through computer simulations on 200MW boiler systems.
Intelligent Automatic Transmission System Using Soft Computing

An automatic transmission pattern with the fixed standard shift map can provide comfortable shift to driver. However it may be a complain to provide shift by the same shift pattern for driver because the inclination of a driver may be various. Therefore, in this paper, we design the decision module, which can decide the driving style using input to decide the inclination of the driver and driving manner. The goal of this paper is to calibrate the shift map according to the inclination of the driver using the decided driving manner from the proposed module. As a result, the proposed intelligent automatic transmission system can provide a suitable shift point and time to the driver. To verify the performance of the proposed system, the real data that is obtained from the road test will be used.
Linear Digital Decentralized Control System for Smart Space

The smart space is composed of the wire and/or wireless network, multi-sensor-based environment, and many various controllers. For the smart space, this paper presents a new design method of multirate digital decentralized controller using the digital redesign technique. In specific, the proposed method is based on the delta-operator and the multirate sampling and takes the form of the LMIs. To shows the feasibility of the suggested method, the computer simulations for HVAC system are provided.
A Study of the 3D-Reconstruction of indoor using Stereo Camera System

In this papcr, we address the 3D reconstruction of the indoor circumstance using what the data is extracted by a pall of image from Stereo Camera. Generally sucaking, there arc three methods to extract 3-Dimensional data using IR sensor, Laser sensor and Stereo camera sensor. The best is stereo camera sensor which can show a high performance at a reasonable price. We used 'Window Correlation Matching Method' to extract 3-Dimensional data in stereo image. We proposed new Method to reduce error data, said 'Histogram Weighted Hough Transform'. Owing to this mettled, we reduced error data in each stereo image. So reconstruction is well done. 3-Dimensional Reconstruction is accomplished by using the DirectX that is well known as 3D-Game development tool. We show that the stereo camera can be not only used to extract 3-dimensional data but also applied to reconstruct the 3-Dimensional circumstance. And we try to reduce the error data using various method.
Spectral Shape Invariant Real-time Voice Change System

In this paper, the spectral shape invariant real-time voice change method is proposed to change one's voice to mechanical voice. For this purpose, LPC analysis and synthesis is used to maintain the spectraum of voice and the pitch of synthesis speech can be changed freely. In the proposed method, gain matching method is applied to excitation signal generator to make the changed voice natural to hear. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, voice change experiments were conducted. Experimental results showed that original speech signal is changed to the mechanical voice signal in which context of the speaker's voice is conveyed correctly in spite of drastic change of pitch. The system is implemented using TI TMS320C6711DSK board to verify the system runs in real time.
Application of Data Mining for Coagulant Dosage of Water Treatment Plants Corresponding to Input Conditions

Water shortages are gradually accelerating because higher standards of living are required and water resources are more heavily utilized. Therefore, effective water treatment is necessary in order to retain the required qualify and amount of water. General treatment includes coagulation, flocculation, filtering, and disinfection. coagulation, flocculation, and disinfection are major components of water treatment processes. In this paper, a new automatic decision algorithm is proposed for coagulation. The proposed method shows how to determine the coagulant type and amount using data mining techniques.
Walking and Stabilization Algorithm of Biped Robot on the Uneven Ground

In the paper, we propose an intelligent walking algorithm of biped robot on the uneven ground and a posture stabilization algorithm against external forces. At first, the mechanics and the control system of biped robot that can walk on the uneven ground and stand external forces are designed. We propose obstacle hurdling, incline walking. and going-up stairs algorithm by using infrared sensors and FSR sensors. Also, posture stabilization algorithm against external forces is designed using FSR sensors. Infrared sensors ate used to detect the obstacles in the working environment and FSR sensors are used to obtain the ZMP of biped robot. The developed biped robot can be controlled by the remote control system using vision system and RF module. The experimental results show that the biped robot Performs obstacle avoidance, obstacle hurdling, walking on the inclined plane, and going up stairs using the proposed walking and stabilization algorithm.
Privacy-Preserving ID-based Service in Anonymity-based Ubiquitous Computing Environment

Privacy preservation is crucial in ubiquitous computing environment in which lots of privacy- sensitive information can be collected and distributed without appropriate control. The anonymity-based approach is a famous one used for privacy preservation communication, which allows users to use pseudonyms instead of real ID so as not to reveal their identities. This approach is effective in that it can hide the identity of users. However, it makes it difficult to provide ID-based services like buddy service, dangerous area alert, P2P communication in the ubiquitous computing. We proposes a system architecture which enables ID-based services in the ubiquitous computing environment employing anonymity - based privacy - preserving approach.
User Assistant Soft Computing Method for 3D Effect Optimization

In this paper, we suggested user assistant soft computing method for 3D effect optimization. In order to maximize 3D effect of image, intervals among cameras have to be set up properly according to distance between cameras and an object. Two data such as interval and distance was obtained to use in neural network as the data for learning. However, if the data for learning was obtained by only human's subjective views, it could be that the obtained data was not optimal for learning because the data had an accidental ewer To obtain optimal data lot learning, we added candidature data to obtained data through data analysis, and then selected the most proper data between the candidature data and the obtained data for learning in neural network. Usually, 3D effect of image was affected by both distance from an object to cameras and an object size. Therefore, we suggested fuzzy inference model which was able to represent two factors like distance and size. Candidature data was added by fuzzy model. In the simulation result, we verified that the mote the obtained data was affected by human's subjective views, the more effective the suggested system was.
3-Dimensional Analysis of Magnetic Road and Vehicle Position Sensing System for Autonomous Driving

In this paper, a 3-dimensional analysis of magnetic road and a position sensing system for an autonomous vehicle system is described. Especially, a new position sensing system, end of the important component of an autonomous vehicle, is proposed. In a magnet based autonomous vehicle system, to sense the vehicle position, the sensor measures the field of magnetic road. The field depends on the sensor position of the vehicle on the magnetic road. As the rotation between the magnetic field and the sensor position is highly complex, it is difficult that the relation is stored in memory. Thus, a neural network is used to learn the mapping from th field to the position. The autonomous vehicle system with the proposed position sensing system is tested in experimental setup.
Optimal Design of Fuzzy Relation-based Fuzzy Inference Systems with Information Granulation

In this study, we introduce a new category of fuzzy inference systems based on information granulation to carry out the model identification of complex and nonlinear systems. Informally speaking, information granules are viewed as linked collections of objects (data, in particular) drawn together by the criteria of proximity, similarity, or functionality Granulation of information with the aid of Hard C-Means (HCM) clustering help determine the initial parameters of fuzzy model such as the initial apexes of the membership functions and the initial values of polynomial functions being used in the premise and consequence part of the fuzzy rules. And the initial parameters are tuned effectively with the aid of the genetic algorithms(GAs) and the least square method (LSM). An aggregate objective function with a weighting factor is also used in order to achieve a balance between performance of the fuzzy model. The proposed model is evaluated with using a numerical example and is contrasted with the performance of conventional fuzzy models in the literature.
Family of Cascade-correlation Learning Algorithm

The cascade-correlation (CC) learning algorithm of Fahlman and Lebiere is one of the most influential constructive algorithm in a neural network. Cascading the hidden neurons results in a network that can represent very strong nonlinearities. Although this power is in principle useful, it can be a disadvantage if such strong nonlinearity is not required to solve the problem. 3 models are presented and compared empirically. All of them are based on valiants of the cascade architecture and output neurons weights training of the CC algorithm. Empirical results indicate the followings： (1) In the pattern classification, the model that train only new hidden neuron to output layer connection weights shows the best predictive ability; (2) In the function approximation, the model that removed input-output connection and used sigmoid-linear activation function is better predictability than CasCor algorithm.

This paper discusses an intelligent digital redesign technique for designing a fuzzy pulse-width-modulated (PWM) control. First when we are given a well-designed fuzzy analog control, the equivalent digital control is intelligently redesigned. Using the similar technique we intelligently redesign the fuzzy PWM control from the intelligently redesigned fuzzy digital control. A stabilizability of the intelligently redesigned PWM control is rigorously analyzed.
Choquet expected values of fuzzy number-valued random variables and their applications

In this paper, we consider interval number-valued random variables and fuzzy number-valued random variables and discuss Choquet integrals of them. Using these properties, we define the Choquet expected value of fuzzy number-valued random variables which is a natural generalization of the Lebesgue expected value of fuzzy random variables. Furthermore, we discuss some application of them.
A Structure of Users이 Context-Awareness and Service processing based P2P Mobile Agent using Collaborative Filtering

Context-awareness is an important element that can provide service of good quality according to users' surrounding environment and status in ubiquitous computing environment. Information gathering tools for context-awareness use small size mobile devices which have easy movement and a mobile agent in mobile device. Now, Mobile agents are consuming much times and expense to collect and recognize each users' context information. Therefore, needs research about structure for users' context information awareness in early time to reduce mobile agent's load. This paper proposes a P2P mobile agent structure that mikes filtering techniques and a P2P agent in mobile agent. The proposed structure analyzes each user's context information in same area, and groups users who have similar preference degree. Grouped users share information using a P2P mobile agent. Also this structure observes and learns to continue on users' action and service, and measures new interrelation.
Face Detection for Automatic Avatar Creation by using Deformable Template and GA

This paper proposes the method to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth in a color image for making an avatar automatically. First, we use the HSI color model to exclude the effect of various light condition, and we find skin regions in an input image by using the skin color is defined on HS-plane. And then, we use deformable templates and Genetic Algorithm(GA) to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth. Deformable templates consist of B-spline curves and control point vectors. Those can represent various shape of a face, eyes and a mouth. And GA is very useful search procedure based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. Second, an avatar is created automatically by using contours and Fuzzy C-means clustering(FCM). FCM is used to reduce the number of face color As a result, we could create avatars like handmade caricatures which can represent the user's identity, differing from ones generated by the existing methods.

Fuzzy Scheduling for the PID Gain Tuning

In this paper, We propose the fuzzy controller for the gain tuning of PID controller The proposed controller doesn't use the crisp output error and rule tables though with a fuzzy inference process in forward fuzzifier, New Fuzzy PID Controller assigns relations and ranges of two variables of PID gain parameters. These new gain parameters are calculated by the fuzzy inference with max-min ranges of Kp and Kd. The Ki parameter is computed automatically between Kp and Kd parameter Is calculated by Ziegler-Nickels tuning rules. Finally we experimented the propose controller by the hydraulic servo motor control system. We can obtained desired results through the good control characteristics.
