We study some operations of two quadratic fuzzy numbers defined by quadratic curves. And we calculate the normal fuzzy probability for fuzzy numbers generated by the operations.
Intrusion Detection System Based on Multi-Class SVM

In this paper, we propose a new intrusion detection model, which keeps advantages of existing misuse detection model and anomaly detection model and resolves their problems. This new intrusion detection system, named to MMIDS, was designed to satisfy all the following requirements : 1) Fast detection of new types of attack unknown to the system; 2) Provision of detail information about the detected types of attack; 3) cost-effective maintenance due to fast and efficient learning and update; 4) incrementality and scalability of system. The fast and efficient training and updating faculties of proposed novel multi-class SVM which is a core component of MMIDS provide cost-effective maintenance of intrusion detection system. According to the experimental results, our method can provide superior performance in separating similar patterns and detailed separation capability of MMIDS is relatively good.
Multiple SVM Classifier for Pattern Classification in Data Mining

Pattern classification extracts various types of pattern information expressing objects in the real world and decides their class. The top priority of pattern classification technologies is to improve the performance of classification and, for this, many researches have tried various approaches for the last 40 years. Classification methods used in pattern classification include base classifier based on the probabilistic inference of patterns, decision tree, method based on distance function, neural network and clustering but they are not efficient in analyzing a large amount of multi-dimensional data. Thus, there are active researches on multiple classifier systems, which improve the performance of classification by combining problems using a number of mutually compensatory classifiers. The present study identifies problems in previous researches on multiple SVM classifiers, and proposes BORSE, a model that, based on 1:M policy in order to expand SVM to a multiple class classifier, regards each SVM output as a signal with non-linear pattern, trains the neural network for the pattern and combine the final results of classification performance.
Comparison of Analysis Performance of Additive Noise Signals by Independent Component Analysis

This paper presents the separation performance of the linearly mixed image signals with additive noises by using an independent component analyses(ICAs) of the fixed-point(FP) algorithm based on Newton and secant method, respectively. The Newton's FP-ICA uses the slope of objective function, and the secant's FP-ICA also uses the tangent line of objective function. The 2 kinds of ICA have been applied to the 2 dimensional 2-image with
pixels. Then Gaussian noise and Laplacian noise are added to the mixed images, respectively. The experimental results show that the Newton's FP-ICA has better the separation speed than secant FP-ICA and the secant's FP-ICA has also the better separation rate than Newton's FP-ICA. Especially, the Newton and secant method gives relatively larger improvement degree in separation speed and rate as the noise increases.
A Context-Aware Engine for Mobile Platforms

Context-aware intelligent services are essential in ubiquitous computing and intelligent robots environments, which make decisions on which services to start with the consideration of surrounding contexts. In the ubiquitous and intelligent environments, context-aware service engines should be light-weighted due to the resource restrictions on the devices. This paper presents a context-aware service engine which is designed for light-weighted devices. The context-aware service engine has been designed with special attention to improve the execution speed and to minimize the memory requirement.
A Purchase Pattern Analysis Using Bayesian Network and Neural Network

To analyze the consumer's purchase pattern, we must consider a factor which is a cultural, social, individual, psychological and so on. If we consider the internal state by the consumer's purchase, Both the consumer's purchase action and the purchase factor can be predicted, so the corporation can use effectively in suitable goods development in a consumer's preference. These factors need a technology that treat uncertain information, because it is difficult to analyze by directly information processing. Therefore, bayesian network manages elements those the observation of inner state such as consumer's purchase is difficult. In addition, it is interpretable about data that the observation is impossible. In this paper, we examine the seller's know-how and the way of consumer's purchase to analyze consumer's purchase action pattern through goods purchase. Also, we compose the bayesian network based on the examined data, and propose the method that predicts purchase patterns. Finally, we remove the data including unnecessary attribute using the bayesian network, and analyze the consumer's Purchase pattern using Kohonen's SOM method.
Ubiquitous Data Mining Using Hybrid Support Vector Machine

Ubiquitous computing has had an effect to politics, economics, society, culture, education and so forth. For effective management of huge Ubiquitous networks environment, various computers which are connected to networks has to decide automatic optimum with intelligence. Currently in many areas, data mining has been used effectively to construct intelligent systems. We proposed a hybrid support vector machine for Ubiquitous data mining which realized intelligent Ubiquitous computing environment. Many data were collected by sensor networks in Ubiquitous computing environment. There are many noises in these data. The aim of proposed method was to eliminate noises from stream data according to sensor networks. In experiment, we verified the performance of our proposed method by simulation data for Ubiquitous sensor networks.
Intelligent Digital Control of a Single Link Flexible-Joint Robot with Uncertainties

In this paper, we propose a systematic method of a fuzzy-model-based controller for continuous-time nonlinear dynamical systems which may contain uncertainties. The continuous-time uncertain TS fuzzy model is first constructed to represent the uncertain nonlinear system. A parallel distributed compensation (PDC) technique is then used to design a fuzzy model based controller for both stabilization and tracking. Finally, the designed continuous-time controller is converted to an equivalent discrete-time controller by using an intelligent digital redesign method. This new design technique provides a systematic and effective framework for integration of the fuzzy model based control theory and the advanced digital redesign technique for nonlinear dynamical systems with uncertainties. Finally, the single link flexible-joint robot arm is used as an illustrative example to show the effectiveness and the feasibility of the developed design method.
Robust H∞ Fuzzy Control for Discrete-Time Nonlinear Systems with Time-Delay

In this paper, a robust
stabilization problem to a uncertain discrete-time nonlinear systems with time-delay via fuzzy static output feedback is investigated. The Takagj-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent an uncertain nonlinear system with time-delayed state. Then, the parallel distributed compensation technique is used for designing of the robust fuzzy controller. Using a single Lyapunov function, the globally asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed-loop fuzzy control system are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of robust
controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities via similarity transform and congruence transform technique. We have shown the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through the simulation.
An Improved Map Construction for Mobile Robot Using Fuzzy Logic and Genetic Algorithm

Existing Bayesian update method using ultrasonic sensors only for mobile robot map building has a problem of the quality of map being degraded in the wall with irregularity, which is caused by the wide beam distribution. For improving this problem, an infrared sensors aided map building method is presented in this paper. Information of obstacle at each region in ultrasonic sensor beam is acquired using the infrared sensors and the information is used to get the confidence of ultrasonic sensor information via fuzzy inference system and genetic algorithm. Combining the resulting confidence with the result of Bayesian update method, an improve map is constructed. The proposed method showed good results in the simulations and experiments.

The present paper establishes the improved version of central limit theorem for sums of level-continuous fuzzy set-valued random variables as a generalization of central limit theorem for sums of independent and identically distributed set-valued random variables.
Automatic Mesh Generation System for a Novel FEM Modeling Based on Fuzzy Theory

This paper describes an automatic finite element (FE) mesh generation for three-dimensional structures consisting of free-form surfaces. This mesh generation process consists of three subprocesses: (a) definition of geometric model, i.e. analysis model, (b) generation of nodes, and (c) generation of elements. One of commercial solid modelers is employed for three-dimensional solid structures. Node is generated if its distance from existing node points is similar to the node spacing function at the point. The node spacing function is well controlled by the fuzzy knowledge processing. The Delaunay method is introduced as a basic tool for element generation. Automatic generation of FE meshes for three-dimensional solid structures holds great benefits for analyses. Practical performances of the present system are demonstrated through several mesh generations for three-dimensional complex geometry.
Bio-Signal Acquisition System Using Mobile Device

In this paper, we propose a mobile telemedicine system that acquires more easily and analyzes individual's bio-signal using PDA. It is not easy for modern people who live busily, disabled patients, or old people to visit hospital. The major goal of this study is to implement the mobile telemedicine systems that the captured bio-signal from remote hospital or other medical treatment device is transmitted via Bluetooth module in ubiquitous environment, PDA with built-in Bluetooth module receives its data and displays on the screen in various form. By implemented systems, it is possible to compare current bio-signal with historical bio-signal and analyze bio-signal, and it is able to make a self diagnosis and it is available to be examined and treated remote diagnosis by sending stored bio-signal to a medical doctor.
A remark to a Constrained OWA Aggregation

The problem of maximizing an OWA aggregation of a group of variables that are interrelated and constrained by a collection of linear inequalities is considered by Yager[Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 81(1996) 89-101]. He obtained how this problem can be modelled as a mixed integer linear programming problem. Recently, Carlsson et al. [Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 139(2003) 543-546] obtained a simple algorithm for exact computation of optimal solutions to a constrained OWA aggregation problem with a single constraint on the sum of all decision variables. In this note, we introduce anew approach to the same problem as Carlsson et al. considered. Indeed, it is a direct consequence of a known result of the linear programming problem.
A study on Iris Recognition using Wavelet Transformation and Nonlinear Function

Iris recognition system is the one of the most reliable biometries recognition system. An algorithm is proposed to determine the localized iris from the iris image received from iris input camera in client. For the first step, the algorithm determines the center of pupil. For the second step, the algorithm determines the outer boundary of the iris and the pupillary boundary. The localized iris area is transformed into polar coordinates. After performing three times Wavelet transformation, normalization was done using a sigmoid function. The converting binary process performs normalized value of pixel from 0 to 255 to be binary value, and then the converting binary process is compared pairs of two adjacent pixels. The binary code of the iris is transmitted to the server by the network. In the server, the comparing process compares the binary value of presented iris to the reference value in the database. The process of recognition or rejection is dependent on the value of Hamming Distance. After matching the binary value of presented iris with the database stored in the server, the result is transmitted to the client.
Need based Game Artificial Intelligence Object Modeling using Analytic Hierarchy Process

Artificial life is a science studying artificial systems that implement various behavioral characteristics of lives as an attempt of applying some features found in living creatures to artificial intelligent objects in virtual worlds. Attempts and researches are actively being made to apply human needs to games and express them through artificial life. Human needs and the expression of the needs are extremely diverse and complicated, so they cannot be modeled in a specific way. Thus this study modeled game AI object needs using AHP, which is a useful model in solving problems quantitatively through basic observation of human nature, analytic thinking, measuring, etc. In addition, the modeled game AI object needs were examined through the analysis of performance sensitivity and their applicability to actual games was assessed with example.
Building of an Navigation Guiding System Using Fuzzy Theory

Currently, ECDIS and GPS plotters are much used as equipment providing operators with route information, but they do not have any function of automatic route creation and route explanation, so available for only experienced operators. Especially, the present situation is that no study is made of the automatic route creation and route explanation using ENC for ECDIS, substitution system of paper chart. ENC is the electronic navigation chart that is produced using S-52, 5-57 standard format required by IHO. In this paper, an Navigation Guiding System(NGS) is proposed to generate an optimal route where ENC and GPS data is fusioned including the wind direction and speed of an anemometer. The proposed system was testified by a simulation, and its effectiveness was verified.
Co-Evolutionary Model for Solving the GA-Hard Problems

Usually genetic algorithms are used to design optimal system. However the performance of the algorithm is determined by the fitness function and the system environment. It is expected that a co-evolutionary algorithm, two populations are constantly interact and co-evolve, is one of the solution to overcome these problems. In this paper we propose three types of co-evolutionary algorithm to solve GA-Hard problem. The first model is a competitive co-evolutionary algorithm that solution and environment are competitively co-evolve. This model can prevent the solution from falling in local optima because the environment are also evolve according to the evolution of the solution. The second algorithm is schema co-evolutionary algorithm that has host population and parasite (schema) population. Schema population supply good schema to host population in this algorithm. The third is game model-based co-evolutionary algorithm that two populations are co-evolve through game. Each algorithm is applied to visual servoing, robot navigation, and multi-objective optimization problem to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Extension of L-Fuzzy Topological Tower Spaces

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the notions of L-fuzzy topological towers by using a completely distributive lattic L and show that the category L-FPrTR of L-fuzzy pretopoplogical tower spaces and the category L-FPsTR of L-fuzzy pseudotopological tower spaces are extensional topological constructs. And we show that L-FPsTR is the cartesian closed topological extension of L-FPrTR. Hence we show that L-FPsTR is a topological universe.
