Behavior Learning and Evolution of Individual Robot for Cooperative Behavior of Swarm Robot System

In swarm robot systems, each robot must behaves by itself according to the its states and environments, and if necessary, must cooperates with other robots in order to carry out a given task. Therefore it is essential that each robot has both learning and evolution ability to adapt the dynamic environments. In this paper, the new learning and evolution method based on reinforcement learning having delayed reward ability and distributed genetic algorithms is proposed for behavior learning and evolution of collective autonomous mobile robots. Reinforcement learning having delayed reward is still useful even though when there is no immediate reward. And by distributed genetic algorithm exchanging the chromosome acquired under different environments by communication each robot can improve its behavior ability. Specially, in order to improve the performance of evolution, selective crossover using the characteristic of reinforcement learning is adopted in this paper. we verify the effectiveness of the proposed method by applying it to cooperative search problem.

This paper presents intelligent digital redesign method for hybrid state space fuzzy-model-based controllers. For effectiveness and stabilization of continuous-time uncertain nonlinear systems under discrete-time controller, Takagi-Sugeno(TS) fuzzy model is used to represent the complex system. And global approach design problems viewed as a convex optimization problem that we minimize the error of the norm bounds between nonlinearly interpolated linear operators to be matched. Also, by using the bilinear and inverse bilinear approximation method, we analyzed nonlinear system's uncertain parts more precisely. When a sampling period is sufficiently small, the conversion of a continuous-time structured uncertain nonlinear system to an equivalent discrete-time system have proper reason. Sufficiently conditions for the global state-matching of the digitally controlled system are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a TS fuzzy model for the chaotic Lorentz system is used as an . example to guarantee the stability and effectiveness of the proposed method.
A Balanced Model Reduction for Uncertain Nonlinear Systems

This paper deals with a balanced model reduction for uncertain nonlinear systems via T-S fuzzy approach. We define a generalized controllability/observability gramian and obtain a balanced state space model using generalized gramians which can be obtained from solutions of linear matrix inequalities. We present a balanced model reduction scheme by truncating not only state variables but also uncertain elements. An upper bound of the model reduction error will also be suggested. In order to demonstrate the efficacy of our method, a numerical example will be presented.
Study of Information Education for Visually Handicapped People at the Social Welfare Facilities

This study observes information education of facilities for the disabled. A certain facility for the disabled was selected in Daejeon to compare the educational environment for visually disabled of regular school for visually disabled and facilities for the disabled, and then personnel current situation by age and form of the disabled, teacher current situation by age, computer possessing current situation, weekly education schedule for the disabled, and equipment possessing current situation for visually disabled were observed. As a result, expansion of Braille education was necessary for the Braille skilled, which is the basis of information education information to visually disabled is insufficient, and forming of learning environment was desperate since equipment necessary for computer education was absurdly lacking unlike regular schools. Also, only 10 out of 21 teachers(47%) majored in social welfare or special education, and none majored in computer. It is because support for employment of those who majored social welfare, special education, and computer is insufficient compared to treatment for teachers at general schools at the facility for the disabled since teacher employment regulation at the facility for the disabled is not set. It is studied that providing high-quality of education environment to the disabled was desperate through physical and social treatment that suits nurturing of the professionally knowledge personnel through expansion of equipments and constant education and training based on government support to promote information education of the facility for the disabled.
A Prediction System of User Preferences for Newly Released Items Based on Words

CF systems are widely used in recommendation due to the easy implementation and the outstanding performance. They have several problems such as the sparsity problem, the first-rater problem, and recommending explanation. Many studies are suggested to resolve these problems. While the influence of the sparsity problem lessens as the users' data are accumulated, but the first-rater problem is originated from the CF systems and there are a number of researches to overcome the disadvantages of CF systems based on the content-based methods. Also CF systems are black boxes, providing no explanation of working of the recommendation. In this paper we present a content-based prediction system based on the preference words, which exposes the reasoning behind a recommendation. Our system predicts user's rating of a new movie and we suggest a semiotic network-based method to solve the mismatching problem between the items. For experimental comparison, we used EachMovie and IMDb dataset.
A Multimedia Contents Recommendation System using Preference Transition Probability

Recently Digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) has been available as a commercial service. The users sometimes have difficulty in finding their preferred multimedia contents and need to spend a lot of searching time finding them. They are even very likely to miss their preferred contents while searching for them. In order to solve the problem, we need a method for recommendation users preferred only minimum information. We propose an algorithm and a system for recommending users' preferred contents using preference transition probability from user's usage history. The system includes four agents: a client manager agent, a monitoring agent, a learning agent, and a recommendation agent. The client manager agent interacts and coordinates with the other modules, the monitoring agent gathers usage data for analyzing the user's preference of the contents, the learning agent cleans the gathered usage data and modeling with state transition matrix over time, and the recommendation agent recommends the user's preferred contents by analyzing the cleaned usage data. In the recommendation agent, we developed the recommendation algorithm using a user's preference transition probability for the contents. The prototype of the proposed system is designed and implemented on the WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability). The experimental results show that the recommendation algorithm using a user's preference transition probability can provide better performances than a conventional method.
A Development of Court Auction Information System using Time Series Forecasting

This paper presents a development of court auction information system using time series forecasting. The system forecast a highest bid price for claim analysis, and it is designed to offer an quota information by the bid price. For this realization, we implemented input interface of object data and web interface of information support. Input interface can be input, update and delete function and web interface is support some information of court auction object. We propose a forecasting method of a highest bid price for auto-claim analysis with real time information support and the results are verified the feasibility of the proposed method by experiment.
Stability Analysis of Limit Cycles on Continuous-time Cyclic Connection Neural Networks

An intuitive understanding of the dynamic pattern generation in asymmetric networks may be considered an essential component in developing models for the dynamic information processing. It has been reported that the neural network with cyclic connections generates multiple limit cycles. The dynamics of discrete time network with cyclic connections has been investigated intensively. However, the dynamics of a cyclic connection neural network in continuous-time has not been well-known due to the considerable complexity involved in its calculation. In this paper, the dynamic behavior of a continuous-time cyclic connection neural network, in which each neuron is connected only to its nearest neurons with binary synaptic weights of

Users' Moving Patterns Analysis for Personalized Product Recommendation in Offline Shopping Malls

Most systems in ubiquitous computing analyze context information of users which have similar propensity with demographics methods and collaborative filtering to provide personalized recommendation services. The systems have mostly used static context information such as sex, age, job, and purchase history. However the systems have limitation to analyze users' propensity accurately and to provide personalized recommendation services in real-time, because they have difficulty in considering users situation as moving path. In this paper we use users' moving path of dynamic context to consider users situation. For the prediction accuracy we complete with a path completion algorithm to moving path which is inputted to RSOM. We train the moving path to be completed by RSOM, analyze users' moving pattern and predict a future moving path. Then we recommend the nearest product on the prediction path with users' high preference in real-time. As the experimental result, MAE is lower than 0.5 averagely and we confirmed our method can predict users moving path correctly.
A Fault Detection System Design for Nuclear Steam Generator Level Control System

This paper deals with a fault detection system design for nuclear steam generator water level control system. We expressed the nonlinear properties of the steam generator level system as a T-S fuzzy system with time varying uncertain parameters. We design a residual generator using a left coprime factorization of the T-S fuzzy model and a fault detection filter in order to improve the fault detection performance. We demonstrate the efficiency of the suggested design method via many computer simulations.

In this paper, we introduce Baldwin's approximate reasoning with fuzzy logic and some truth function mappings usually used in Baldwin's method. And we introduce some assessment criteria for approximate reasonings and we define some truth function mappings which satisfy more criteria than those which are already known.
Content- based Image Retrieval using Fuzzy Integral

The management of image information settles as an important field with the advent of multimedia age and we are in need of the effective retrieval method to manage systematically image information. This paper has complemented the problem caused by the absence of space information that is a weak point of the existing color histogram method by assigning regions of features, and raised accuracy by adding texture and shape information. And existing methods using multiple features have problems that the retrieval process is embarrassed because each weight is set up manually. So we has solved these problems by assignment of weight applying fuzzy integral. As a result of experimenting with 1,000 color images, the proposed method showed better precision and recall than the existing method.
The Development of Balancing Machine Using Hall Effect Sensor

The eccentricity of the rotor causes a rotary machine to unbalance and the balancing to correct or compensate this is very important not only for dust-proof and anti -noise design but also for stabilization and durability of the rotary machine. In this paper, for developing the balancing machine to find and compensate such eccentricity, we will propose new way of measuring eccentricity using hall effect sensor that is different from the way in a conventional balancing machine. And we will show that it is possible to make balancing machine more compactly and cheaply by experiment results using hall effect sensor to measure eccentricity. Moreover we try to control and monitor the balancing machine by personal computer through serial communication.
Implementation of Multiple Nonlinearities Control for Stable Walking of a Humanoid Robot

This paper is concerned with the control of multiple nonlinearities included in a humanoid robot system. A humanoid robot has some problems such as the structural instability, which leads to consider the control of multiple nonlinearities caused by driver parts as well as gear reducer. Saturation and backlash are typical examples of nonlinearities in the system. The conventional algorithms of backlash control were fuzzy algorithm, disturbance observer and neural network, etc. However, it is not easy to control the system by employing only single algorithm since the system usually includes multiple nonlinearities. In this paper, a switching Pill is considered for a control of saturation and a dual feedback algorithm is proposed for a backlash control. To implement the above algorithms, the system identification is firstly performed for the minimization of the difference between the results of simulation and experiment, and then the switching Pill gains are determined using genetic algorithm with some heuristic approach. The performance of the switching Pill controller for saturation and the dual feedback for backlash control is investigated through the simulation. Finally, it is shown that the implemented control system has good results and can be applied to the real humanoid robot system ISHURO.
A DNA Sequence Generation Algorithm for Traveling Salesman Problem using DNA Computing with Evolution Model

Recently the research for Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) using DNA computing with massive parallelism has been. However, there were difficulties in real biological experiments because the conventional method didn't reflect the precise characteristics of DNA when it express graph. Therefore, we need DNA sequence generation algorithm which can reflect DNA features and reduce biological experiment error. In this paper we proposed a DNA sequence generation algorithm that applied DNA coding method of evolution model to DNA computing. The algorithm was applied to TSP, and compared with a simple genetic algorithm. As a result, the algorithm could generate good sequences which minimize error and reduce the biologic experiment error rate.
Evolutionary Design for Multi-domain Engineering System - Air Pump Redesign

This paper introduces design method for air pump system using bond graph and genetic programming to maximize outflow subject to a constraint specifying maximum power consumption. The air pump system is a mixed domain system which includes electromagnetic, mechanical and pneumatic elements. Therefore an appropriate approach for a better system for synthesis is required. Bond graphs are domain independent, allow free composition, and are efficient for classification and analysis of models. Genetic programming is well recognized as a powerful tool for open-ended search. The combination of these two powerful methods, BG/GP, was tested for redesign of air pump system.
IMM Method Using Kalman Filter with Fuzzy Gain

In this paper, we propose an interacting multiple model (IMM) method using intelligent tracking filter with fuzzy gain to reduce tracking errors for maneuvering targets. In the proposed filter, the unknown acceleration input for each sub-model is determined by mismatches between the modelled target dynamics and the actual target dynamics. After a acceleration input is detected, the state estimates for each sub-filter are modified. To modify the accurate estimation, we propose the fuzzy gain based on the relation between the filter residual and its variation. To optimize each fuzzy system, we utilize the genetic algorithm (GA). The tracking performance of the proposed method is compared with those of the adaptive interacting multiple model(AIMM) method and input estimation (IE) method through computer simulations.
Intelligent Immigration Control System by Using Passport Recognition and Face Verification

This paper proposes the intelligent immigration control system that authorizes the traveler through immigration and detects forged passports by using automatic recognition of passport codes, the passport photo and face verification. The proposed system extracts and deskewes the areas of passport codes from the passport image. This paper proposes the novel ART algorithm creating the adaptive clusters to the variations of input patterns and it is applied to the extracted code areas for the code recognition. After compensating heuristically the recognition result, the detection of forged passports is achieved by using the picture and face verification between the passport photo extracted from the passport image and the picture retrieved from the database based on the recognized codes. Due to the proposed ART algorithm and the heuristic refinement, the proposed system relatively shows better performance.

In this paper, we define an interval-valued Choquet price functional which is a useful tool as the price of an insurance contract with ambiguity payoffs and investigate some characterizations of them. Moreover, we show that the insurance price with ambiguity payoffs has an interval-valued Choquet integral representation with respect to a capacity.
