The Intelligent Control System for Biped Robot Using Hierarchical Mixture of Experts

This paper proposes the controller for biped robot using intelligent control algorithm. In order to simplify the complexity of biped robot control, manipulator of biped robot is divided into four modules. These modules are controlled by intelligent algorithm with Hierarchical Mixture of Experts(HME) using neural network. Also neural network having direct control method learns the inverse dynamics of biped robot. The HME, which is a network of tree structure, reallocates the input domain for the output by learning pattern of input and output. In this paper, as a result of learning HME repeatedly with EM algorithm, the controller for biped robot operating safety walking is designed by modelling dynamics of biped robot and generating virtual error of HME.
Analysis of Dynamical State Transition and Effects of Chaotic Signal in Continuous-Time Cyclic Neural Network

It is well-known that a neural network with cyclic connections generates plural limit cycles, thus, being used as a memory system for storing large number of dynamic information. In this paper, a continuous-time cyclic connection neural network was built so that each neuron is connected only to its nearest neurons with binary synaptic weights of
. The type and the number of limit cycles generated by such network has also been demonstrated through simulation. In particular, the effect of chaos signal for transition between limit cycles has been tested. Furthermore, it is evaluated whether the chaotic noise is more effective than random noise in the process of the dynamical neural networks.

In recent years, several methods in distributed environment have been proposed in which a user-centered multimedia service may be efficiently provided. However, problems such as the improvement of QoS, streaming and the dynamic service of data for distributed service of multimedia data are introduced. In this paper we propose
structure for user-centered multimedia service in distributed network environment. The proposed
structure are constructed by disjunct, conjunct, semantic and filtering mapping scheme, and its structure are updated by
scheme. The comparison results shows that the proposed method provides the better than the other methods.
New Kernel-Based Normality Recovery Method and Applications

The SVDD(support vector data description) is one of the most important one-class support vector learning methods, which depends on the strategy of utilizing the balls defined on the feature space to discriminate the normal data from all other possible abnormal objects. This paper addresses on the extension of the SVDD method toward the problem of recovering the normal contents from the data contaminated with noises. The validity of the proposed de-noising method is shown via application to recovering the high-resolution images from the low-resolution images based on the high-resolution training data.
A Prediction for Manpower Profile of Software Development Using Predictive Filter

Most of the existing statistical models of software manpower profile are based on the assumptions of the usage and development process. Therefore, there is no universally applicable estimation and prediction model. To develop a prediction model, this paper suggests the predictive filter as a prediction model for software manpower profile. Firs of all, we investigate the software manpower profile and we suggest the input-output of predictive filter and method for parameter determination. Then, its usefulness is empirically verified by analyzing the actual data obtained from the software projects. Based on the average relative prediction error and Pred(0.25), the suggested predictive filter is compared with other well-known statistical estimation models. As a result, the predictive filter generally has a simple structure and on the other hand, it adapts the software manpower profile very well.

The systems in the ubiquitous computing environment need to provide users with context-aware services, intelligently interacting with the surrounding environment. Therefore, the systems in the ubiquitous computing environment require context-awareness ability in order to gather and analyze context information in various situations and environments. However, existing context-aware systems lack the ability to systematically generate and handle various types of context information, and only a few systems have ability learning from environment. In this paper, a general context model is defined to describe various contexts and a context-awareness framework is implemented based in the model, which makes it straightforward to handle and generate various types of context from diverse sensor. The framework is designed to allow a system to sensed, combined, inferred, and learned context information, in order to provide users with services in dynamic environments. We have implemented the proposed framework and applied it to a u-Health management system.
Multimodal biometrics system using PDA under ubiquitous environments

In this paper, we propose a method based on multimodal biometrics system using the face and signature under ubiquitous computing environments. First, the face and signature images are obtained by PDA and then these images with user ID and name are transmitted via WLAN(Wireless LAN) to the server and finally the PDA receives verification result from the server. The multimodal biometrics recognition system consists of two parts. In client part located in PDA, user interface program executes the user registration and verification process. The server consisting of the PCA and LDA algorithm shows excellent face recognition performance and the signature recognition method based on the Kernel PCA and LDA algorithm for signature image projected to vertical and horizontal axes by grid partition method. The proposed algorithm is evaluated with several face and signature images and shows better recognition and verification results than previous unimodal biometrics recognition techniques.
Channel Allocation Method and Job scheduling Scheme by Property of Traffic in Cellular Network

It is important matter that inflect well allocated frequency resource in cellular network and is still more serious element in environment that provide multimedia services. Also, that do that make job scheduling how base station system or terminal according to this service request is important constituent that evaluate performance of whole system. channel allocation according to service kind causes big effect to whole system when hand off gets up in cellular network. This paper describes model and algorithm that increase two elements that is frequency allocation and job scheduling that consider multimedia service traffic special quality by emphasis that do mapping present in CDMA cellular system.
Low-Power Walking Trajectory Generation of Biped Robot and Its Realization

In this paper, a novel method is proposed for generating the low-power and stable walking trajectory of biped robots, and then a biped robot with 25 DOFs(degrees of freedom) is designed and implemented for the realization of the low-power walking trajectory generated by the proposed method. In our method, first a stable VPCG(vertically projected center of gravity) trajectory is generated, and then the trajectories of ankle and pelvis of a biped robot are planned to follow the preplanned stable VPCG trajectory, which produces a waking pattern without bending its knees and enables a biped robot to walk with less power consumption. On the other hand, a biped robot implemented in this paper has the mechanical structure of foot that enables a biped robot to support on the ground well, and the mechanical structure of pelvis that enables a biped robot to move flexibly. From results of the walking experiment and power consumption measurement, it was confirmed that the proposed method can generate the more stable and flexible trajectory with less power consumption compared with the existing methods which do not use the ankle of a biped robot.
A Study on the Dynamic Image Drawing Part Information Recognition using Artificial Intelligence

This paper wishes to present way that can take advantage of parts information of image drawing for efficient maintenance management of facilities efficiently. Information for parts that compose facilities to facilities design drawing has been expressed, and legend character has been written to divide each parts. This paper applies Artificial Intelligence techniques for legend character cognition of image drawing. Finally, apply artificial intelligence techniques to drawing management system to evaluate efficiency of method that propose in this paper that see.
Design of a Visual Servoing System of an Autonomous Mobile Robot using Fuzzy Logic System

The research and development for autonomous mobile robots has widely been reported. This paper describes a fuzzy logic based visual servoing system for an autonomous mobile robot. An existing system always needs to keep a moving object in overall image. This makes difficult to move the autonomous mobile robot spontaneously. In this paper we first explain an autonomous mobile robot and fuzzy logic system. And then we design a fuzzy logic based visual servoing system. We extract some features of the object from an overall image and then design a fuzzy logic system for controlling the visual servoing system to an exact position. We here introduce a shooting robot that can track an object and hit it. We show that the proposed system presents a desirable performance by a computer simulation and some experiments.
Fuzzy Neural Network Model Using A Learning Rule Considering the Distances Between Classes

This paper presents a new fuzzy learning rule which considers the Euclidean distances between the input vector and the prototypes of classes. The new fuzzy learning rule is integrated into the supervised IAFC neural network 4. This neural network is stable and plastic. We used iris data to compare the performance of the supervised IAFC neural network 4 with the performances of back propagation neural network and LVQ algorithm.
Genetic Algorithm Based Feature Selection Method Development for Pattern Recognition

IAn important problem of pattern recognition is to extract or select feature set, which is included in the pre-processing stage. In order to extract feature set, Principal component analysis has been usually used and SFS(Sequential Forward Selection) and SBS(Sequential Backward Selection) have been used as a feature selection method. This paper applies genetic algorithm which is a popular method for nonlinear optimization problem to the feature selection problem. So, we call it Genetic Algorithm Feature Selection(GAFS) and this algorithm is compared to other methods in the performance aspect.
A Fuzzy-Neural Network-Based IMM Method Tracking System

This paper presents a new fuzzy-neural-network based interacting multiple model (FNNBIMM) algorithm for tracking a maneuvering target. To effectively handle the unknown target acceleration, this paper regards it as additional noise, time-varying variance to target model. Each sub model characterized by the variance of the overall process noise, which is obtained on the basis of each acceleration interval. Since it is hard to approximate this time-varying variance adaptively owing to the unknown acceleration, the FNN is utilized to precisely approximate this time-varying variance. The error back-propagation method is utilized to optimize each FNN. To show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm, a numerical example is provided.
A Study on a Validity of Traffic Signal Control using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process

This paper discusses a fitness of the control on intersection using fuzzy analytic hierachy process. The validity of control of traffic signal on intersection is the fitness of phase and cycle on the intersection. The validity of the controller is cleared by the comparison of the delay time of vehicle. Fuzzy analytic hierachy process clears the grade of validity of the fixed cycle time controller and adaptive fixed cycle time and fuzzy trafic controller and proposes a new control type a traffic signal by this fuzzy analytic hierachy process.
Network Realization for a Distributed Control of a Humanoid Robot

This paper deals with implementation of network for distributed control system of a humanoid robot ISHURO(Inha Semyung Humanoid Robot). A humanoid robot needs much degree of freedom structurally and much data for having flexible movement. To realize such a humanoid robot, distributed control method is preferred to the centralized one since it gives a compactness, modularity and flexibility for the controllers. For organizing distributed control system of a humanoid robot, a control processor on a board is needed to individually control the joint motor and communication technology between the processors is required to transmit its information within control time. The processor is DSP-based processor and includes CAN network on a chip. It shares the computational load such as monitoring the sensor information and controlling the actuator between each of modules. In this paper, the communication architecture is suggested and its message protocol are discussed including message structure, time consumption for transmission, and controller structure at the view of distributed control for a humanoid robot. All of the sequence are simulated with Matlab and then verified with real walking experiment by ISHURO.
Development of Blood Pressure Measurement Method Using ANFIS

In this paper, we propose a blood pressure measurement method using ANFIS. Usually, the maximum and minimum blood pressures are calculated by Maximum Amplitude Algorithm(MAA) method. However, the MAA method has some drawbacks to measure exact blood pressure since it uses a fixed ratio to set the measuring points for everyone without considering individual's special conditions. To solve this problem, the pressures measured by the MMA are trained by ANFIS having self-learning ability. From various experiments, we confirm that the proposed method shows better performance than conventional method.
Fuzzy regression using regularlization method based on Tanaka's model

Regularlization approach to regression can be easily found in Statistics and Information Science literature. The technique of regularlization was introduced as a way of controlling the smoothness properties of regression function. In this paper, we have presented a new method to evaluate linear and non-linear fuzzy regression model based on Tanaka's model using the idea of regularlization technique. Especially this method is a very attractive approach to model non -linear fuzzy data.
Sliding Mode Observer for Fuzzy System: An LMI Approach

This paper considers a method to design sliding mode observers for a class of uncertain systems using Linear Matrix Inequalities(LMI). In an LMI-based sliding mode observer design method for a class of uncertain systems the switching surface is set to be the difference between the observer and system output. In terms of LMIs, a necessary and sufficient condition is derived for the existence of a sliding-mode observer guaranteeing a stable sliding motion on the switching surface. The gain matrices of the sliding-mode observer are characterized using the solution of the LMI existence condition. The results are illustrated by an example.
