Sampled-data Fuzzy Controller for Network-based Systems with Neutral Type Delays

This paper presents the stability analysis and design for a sampled-data fuzzy control system with neutral type of time delay, which is formed by a nonlinear plant and a sampled-data fuzzy controller connected in a closed loop. The sampling activity and neutral type of time delay will complicate the system dynamics and make the stability analysis much more difficult than that for a pure continuous-time fuzzy control system. Based on the fuzzy-model-based control approach, LMI(linear matrix inequality)-based stability conditions are derived to guarantee the nonlinear networked system stability. An application example will be given to show the merits and design a procedure of the proposed approach.
Learning Tagging Ontology from Large Tagging Data

This paper presents a learning method of tagging ontology using large tagging data such as a folksonomy, which stands for classification structure informally created by the people. There is no common agreement about the semantics of a tagging, and most social web sites internally use different methods to represent tagging information, obstructing interoperability between sites and the automated processing by software agents. To solve this problem, we need a tagging ontology, defined by analyzing intrinsic attributes of a tagging. Through several machine learning for tagging data, tag groups and similar user groups are extracted, and then used to learn the tagging ontology. A recommender system adopting the tagging ontology is also suggested as an applying field.
Indoor Location Estimation and Navigation of Mobile Robots Based on Wireless Sensor Network and Fuzzy Modeling

Navigation system based on indoor location estimation is one of the core technologies in mobile robot systems. Wireless sensor network has great potential in the indoor location estimation due to its characteristics such as low power consumption, low cost, and simplicity. In this paper we present an algorithm to estimate the indoor location of mobile robot based on wireless sensor network and fuzzy modeling. ZigBee-based sensor network usually uses RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) values to measure the distance between two sensor nodes, which are affected by signal distortion, reflection, channel fading, and path loss. Therefore we need a proper correction method to obtain accurate distance information with RSSI. We develop the fuzzy distance models based on RSSI values and an efficient algorithm to estimate the robot location which applies to the navigation algorithm incorporating the time-varying data of environmental conditions which are received from the wireless sensor network.
A Study on Extraction of Irregular Iris Patterns

Recently, biometric systems are of interest for the reliable security system. Iris recognition technology is one of the biometric system with the highest reliability. Various iris recognition methods have been proposed for automatic personal identification and verification. These methods require accurate iris segmentation for successful processing because the iris is a small part of an acquired image. The iris boundaries have been parametrically modeled and subsequently detected by circles or parabolic arcs. Since the iris boundaries have a wide range of edge contrast and irregular border shapes, the assumption that they can be fit to circles or parabolic arcs is not always valid. In some cases, the shape of a dilated pupil is slightly different from a constricted one. This is especially true when the pupil has an irregular shape. This is why this research is important. This paper addresses how to accurately detect iris boundaries for improved iris recognition, which is robust to noises.
A Study on Service Composition Using Case-Based Reasoning

Context-aware service environment should provide many kinds of services according to users' requests. Users want a great variety of services. In response to their demands the service provider should make a new service every time. But making a new service every time may be inefficient even for a small number of users' requests. So, there are studies on how to efficiently support various and complex requests fFom users. In many researches, service compositions have lately attracted considerable attention. However, existing researches have mainly focused on Web services. So they are not proper to rapidly providing services in response to users' requests, especially In context-aware service environment. This paper proposes a rapid service composition using case-based reasoning. For evaluating the proposed algorithm we implement 'purchasing seTvice agent'. With this system, we compare our algorithm and the existing service composition algorithms.
On fuzzy preinvexity in Choquet integrals

We consider fuzzy invex sets, fuzzy preinvex functions, fuzzy quasi-preinvex functions, and fuzzy logarithmic preinvex functions. Murofushi et al. have been studied Choquet integrals and their properties. In this paper, we study some characterizations in Choquet integrals as follows: fuzzy preinvexity, fuzzy quasi-preinvexity, and fuzzy logarithemic preinvexity, that mean some characterizations of functionals defined by Choquet integrals. Furthermore, we discuss Jensen's type inequality in Choquet integrals.
Position Improvement of a Mobile Robot by Real Time Tracking of Multiple Moving Objects

The Intelligent Space(ISpace) provides challenging research fields for surveillance, human-computer interfacing, networked camera conferencing, industrial monitoring or service and training applications. ISpace is the space where many intelligent devices, such as computers and sensors, are distributed. According to the cooperation of many intelligent devices, the environment, it is very important that the system knows the location information to offer the useful services. In order to achieve these goals, we present a method for representing, tracking and human Jollowing by fusing distributed multiple vision systems in ISpace, with application to pedestrian tracking in a crowd. This paper describes appearance based unknown object tracking with the distributed vision system in intelligent space. First, we discuss how object color information is obtained and how the color appearance based model is constructed from this data. Then, we discuss the global color model based on the local color information. The process of learning within global model and the experimental results are also presented.
The Implementation of Face Authentication System Using Real-Time Image Processing

In this paper, it is proposed the implementation of face authentication system based on real-time image processing. We described the process implementing the two steps for real-time face authentication system. At first face detection steps, we describe the face detection by using feature of wavelet transform, LoG operator and hausdorff distance matching. In the second step we describe the new dual-line principal component analysis(PCA) for real-time face recognition. It is combines horizontal line to vertical line so as to accept local changes of PCA. The proposed system is affected a little by the video size and resolution. And then simulation results confirm the effectiveness of out system and demonstrate its superiority to other conventional algorithm. Finally, the possibility of performance evaluation and real-time processing was confirmed through the implementation of face authentication system.
Reliable Data Selection using Similarity Measure

For data analysis, fuzzy entropy is introduced as the measure of fuzziness, similarity measure is also constructed to represent similarity between data. Similarity measure between fuzzy membership functions is constructed through distance measure, and the proposed similarity measure are proved. Application of proposed similarity measure to the example of reliable data selection is also carried out. Application results are compared with the previous results that is obtained through fuzzy entropy and statistical knowledge.
Occlusion Processing in Simulation using Improved Object Contour Extraction Algorithm by Neighboring edge Search and MER

Trainee can enhance his perception of and interaction with the real world by displayed virtual objects in simulation using image processing technology. Therefore, it is essential for realistic simulation to determine the occlusion areas of the virtual object produces after registering real image and virtual object exactly. In this paper, we proposed the new method to solve occlusions which happens during virtual target moves according to the simulated route on real image using improved object contour extraction by neighboring edge search and picking algorithm. After we acquire the detailed contour of complex objects by proposed contour extraction algorithm, we extract the three dimensional information of the position happening occlusion by using MER for performance improvement. In the experiment, we compared proposed method with existed method and preyed the effectiveness in the environment which a partial occlusions happens.
Path Planning Method Using the the Particle Swarm Optimization and the Improved Dijkstra Algorithm

In this paper, we develop the optimal path planning algorithm using the improved Dijkstra algorithm and the particle swarm optimization. To get the optimal path, at first we construct the MAKLINK on the world environment and then make a graph associated with the MAKLINK. The MAKLINK is a set of edges which consist of the convex set. Some of the edges come from the edges of the obstacles. From the graph, we obtain the Dijkstra path between the starting point and the destination point. From the optimal path, we search the improved Dijkstra path using the graph. Finally, applying the particle swarm optimization to the improved Dijkstra path, we obtain the optimal path for the mobile robot. It turns out that the proposed method has better performance than the result in  through the experiment.
Multi Characters Detection Using Color Segmentation and LoG operator characteristics in Natural Scene

This paper proposed the multi characters detection algorithm using Color segmentation and the closing curve feature of LoG Operator in order to complement the demerit of the existing research which is weak in complexity of background, variety of light and disordered line and similarity of left and background color, etc. The proposed multi characters detection algorithm divided into three parts : The feature detection, characters format and characters detection Parts in order to be possible to apply to image of various feature. After preprocess that the new multi characters detection algorithm that proposed in this paper used wavelet, morphology, hough transform which is the synthesis logical model in order to raise detection rate by acquiring the non-perfection characters as well as the perfection characters with processing OR operation after processing each color area by AND operation sequentially. And the proposal algorithm is simulated with natural images which include natural character area regardless of size, resolution and slant and so on of image. And the proposal algorithm in this paper is confirmed to an excellent detection rate by compared with the conventional detection algorithm in same image.
Intelligent Drowsiness Drive Warning System

In this paper. we propose the real-time vision system which judges drowsiness driving based on levels of drivers' fatigue. The proposed system is to prevent traffic accidents by warning the drowsiness and carelessness using face-image analysis and fuzzy logic algorithm. We find the face position and eye areas by using fuzzy skin filter and virtual face model in order to develop the real-time face detection algorithm, and we measure the eye blinking frequency and eye closure duration by using their informations. And then we propose the method for estimating the levels of drivel's fatigue based on measured data by using the fuzzy logic and for deciding whether drowsiness driving is or not. Finally, we show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through some experiments.
A Study on the Design of Intelligent Classifier for Decision of Quality of Barrier Material

Recently, LG chemical corporation developed new material called HYPERIER, which has an excellent barrier characteristic. It has many layers which are made of nano-composite within LDPE(Low-Density Poly Ethylene). In order to guarantee the quality of the final product from the production line, a certain test equipment is required to investigate the existence of layers inside the HYPERIER. In this work, ultrasonic sensor based test equipment for investigating the existence of inner layers is proposed. However, it is a tedious job for human operators to check the existence by just looking at the resounding waveform from ultrasonic sensor. Therefore, to enhance the performance of the ultrasonic test equipment, Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) and Principle Components Analysis(PCA) and Back-Propagation Neural Network(BPNN) are utilized which is used for classification of Quality. To verily the feasibility of the proposed scheme, some experiments are executed.
Design of Optimized Fuzzy Controller by Means of HFC-based Genetic Algorithms for Rotary Inverted Pendulum System

In this paper, we propose an optimized fuzzy controller based on Hierarchical Fair Competition-based Genetic Algorithms (HFCGA) for rotary inverted pendulum system. We adopt fuzzy controller to control the rotary inverted pendulum and the fuzzy rules of the fuzzy controller are designed based on the design methodology of Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) controller. Simple Genetic Algorithms (SGAs) is well known as optimization algorithms supporting search of a global character. There is a long list of successful usages of GAs reported in different application domains. It should be stressed, however, that GAs could still get trapped in a sub-optimal regions of the search space due to premature convergence. Accordingly the parallel genetic algorithm was developed to eliminate an effect of premature convergence. In particular, as one of diverse types of the PGA, HFCGA has emerged as an effective optimization mechanism for dealing with very large search space. We use HFCGA to optimize the parameter of the fuzzy controller. A comparative analysis between the simulation and the practical experiment demonstrates that the proposed HFCGA based fuzzy controller leads to superb performance in comparison with the conventional LQR controller as well as SGAs based fuzzy controller.
An Automatic Summarization of Call-For-Paper Documents Using a 2-Phase hidden Markov Model

This paper proposes a system which extracts necessary information from call-for-paper (CFP) documents using a hidden Markov model (HMM). Even though a CFP does not follow a strict form, there is, in general, a relatively-fixed sequence of information within most CFPs. Therefore, a hiden Markov model is adopted to analyze CFPs which has an advantage of processing consecutive data. However, when CFPs are intuitively modeled with a hidden Markov model, a problem arises that the boundaries of the information are not recognized accurately. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a two-phrase hidden Markov model. In the first step, the P-HMM (Phrase hidden Markov model) which models a document with phrases recognizes CFP documents locally. Then, the D-HMM (Document hidden Markov model) grasps the overall structure and information flow of the document. The experiments over 400 CFP documents grathered on Web result in 0.49 of F-score. This performance implies 0.15 of F-measure improvement over the HMM which is intuitively modeled.

Many researchers are studying about human Brain-Computer Interface(BCI) that it based on electroencephalogram(EEG) signals of multichannel. The researches of EEG signals are used for detection of a seizure or a epilepsy and as a lie detector. The researches about an interface between Brain and Computer have been studied robots control and game of using human brain as engineering recently. Especially, a field of brain studies used EEG signals is put emphasis on EEG artifacts elimination for correct signals. In this paper, we measure EEG signals as human emotions and divide it into five frequence parts. They are calculated related the percentage of selecting range to total range. the calculating values are compared standard values by Bayesian Network. lastly, we show the human face avatar as human Emotion.
Fuzzy Entropy Construction based on Similarity Measure

In this Paper we derived fuzzy entropy that is based on similarity measure. Similarity measure represents the degree of similarity between two informations, those informations characteristics are not important. First we construct similarity measure between two informations, and derived entropy functions with obtained similarity measure. Obtained entropy is verified with proof. With the help of one-to-one similarity is also obtained through distance measure, this similarity measure is also proved in our paper.
On Color Cluster Analysis with Three-dimensional Fuzzy Color Ball

The focus of this paper is on devising an efficient clustering task for arbitrary color data. In order to tackle this problem, the inherent uncertainty and vagueness of color are represented by a fuzzy color model. By taking a fuzzy approach to color representation, the proposed model makes a soft decision for the vague regions between neighboring colors. A definition on a three-dimensional fuzzy color ball is introduced, and the degree of membership of color is computed by employing a distance measure between a fuzzy color and color data. With the fuzzy color model, a novel fuzzy clustering algorithm for efficient partition of color data is developed.
On the fuzzy convergence of sequences in a fuzzy normed linear space

In this paper, we introduce the notions of a fuzzy convergence of sequences, fuzzy Cauchy sequence and the related fuzzy completeness on a fuzzy normed linear space. And we investigate some properties relative to fuzzy normed linear spaces. In particular, we prove an equivalent conditions that a fuzzy norm defined on a ordinary normed linear space is fuzzy complete.

Symmerge is a stable minimum storage merging algorithm that needs
element comparisons, where in and n are the sizes of the input sequences with
. Hence, according to the lower bound for merging, the algorithm is asymptotically optimal regarding the number of comparisons. The Symmerge algorithm is based on the standard recursive technique of "divide and conquer". The objective of this paper is to consider the relationship between m and n for the degenerated case where the recursion depth reaches m-1.

As the usefulness of internet is kept changing more productively with web 1.0, web 2.0 usage of XML is also increasing very rapidly. In XML environment the most critical function is the ability of effective retrieval of useful information from XML repository. That makes the W3C XQuery more popular XQuery has very complicated structure as a query language due to the semi_structured nature of XML. FLOWOR, which stand for, let. where, order by, return, is the most commonly used expression in XQuery. In this paper we suggest the methods to handle XQuery FLWOR on relational environments. We also analyze and evaluate our approach to prove its correctness.
The Improved Deblocking Filter for Low-bit Rate H.264/AVC Video

H.264/AVC among moving picture compression standard is the standard format for high compression rate and reliable video transimission. It generates blocking effects in video due to compressing video using block-based DCT and includes de-blocking filter to reduce blocking effect. Therefore, the filter makes the video over-smoothing and the quality of it is reduced. In this paper, we propose a improved de-blocking filter to solve the demerit. The proposed de-blocking filter redetermine the block boundary strength and apply the comer filtering to eliminate artifacts in low frequency domain. To evaluate the performance, we apply the proposed deblocking filter and exiting method to various video and evaluated the quality of image subjectively and objectively by analyzing the result. The simulation result shows the proposed method preserves the edge of video, reduces blocking effects and improves PSNR than the existing method.
