Design of Fuzzy Logic based Classifying System for the Degree of Goodness of Steel Balls

The steel balls are core elements between inner part and outer part in a bearing system. The degree of goodness of the steel balls has been visually processed by human beings. In this paper we propose a new method that uses image processing algorithm and fuzzy logic theory. We use fuzzy inference engine and fuzzy Choquet integral algorithm in the proposed system. We first distinguish the defects of the steel balls by an image processing algorithm. And then the degree of the defects is classified by a fuzzy logic system. We perform some simulations to show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed system.

This paper describes how to protect the personal information of a biometric reference provider wherein biometric reference and personally identifiable information are bounded in a biometric system. To overcome the shortcomings of the simple personal authentication method using a password, such as identify theft, a biometric system that utilizes physical and behavioral characteristics of each person is usually adopted. In the biometric system, the biometric information itself is personal information, and it can be used as an unique identifier that can identify a particular individual when combining with the other information. As a result, secure protection methods are required for generating, storing, and transmitting biometric information. Considering these issues, this paper proposes a method for ensuring confidentiality and integrity in storing and transferring personally identifiable information that is used in conjunction with biometric information, by extending the related X9.84 standard. This paper also outlines the usefulness of the proposition by defining a standard format represented by ASN.1, and implementing it.
State Estimation for Underwater Vehicles by Means of Cascade Observers

This paper investigates the estimation problem of vehicle velocity and propeller angular velocity on the underwater vehicle. Inspired by but different from a high-gain observer, the cascade observer features a cascade structure and adaptive observer gains. In doing so the cascade observer attempts to overcome some of the typical problems that may pose to a high-gain observer. As in the case of a high-gain observer, the cascade observer structure is simple and universal in the sense that it is independent of the system dynamics and parameters. A cascade observer is used for the estimation of velocity from measured position. In the 1st step of the observer, the output is estimated, and the 1st order derivative of measured output is estimated via the 2nd step of the observer. Also, nth order derivative of the output is estimated in the (n+1)th step of the observer. It is shown that the proposed observer guarantees globally asymptotical stability. By simulation results, the proposed observer scheme for the estimations of vehicle velocity and propeller angular velocity shows better performance than the scheme based on the existing observer.
Fuzzy Controller for Intelligent Networked Control System with Neutral Type of Time-delay

We consider the stabilization problem for a class of networked control systems with neutral type of time delays. The neutral type of time-delays occur in controller-to-actuator and sensor-to-controller. The Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent a nonlinear system with neutral type of time-delays. The stabilization via state-feedback is first addressed, and delay-range-dependent stabilization conditions are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, an application example will be given to show the merits and design a procedure of the proposed approach.
Design of Low Power Error Correcting Code Using Various Genetic Operators

The memory is very sensitive to the soft error because the integration of the memory increases under low power environment. Error correcting codes (ECCs) are commonly used to protect against the soft errors. This paper proposes a new genetic ECC design method which reduces power consumption. Power is minimized using the degrees of freedom in selecting the parity check matrix of the ECCs. Therefore, the genetic algorithm which has the novel genetic operators tailored for this formulation is employed to solve the non-linear power optimization problem. Experiments are performed with Hamming code and Hsiao code to illustrate the performance of the proposed method.
Observer-based Intelligent Control of Nonlinear Networked Control Systems with Packet Loss for Wireless Sensor Network

In this paper, an observer-based intelligent controller for the nonlinear networked control systems with packet loss is proposed for wireless sensor network. For the intelligent control of the nonlinear system, it uses the fuzzy system with Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The observer is designed for the fuzzy networked control system, and the output feedback controller is proposed for the stability of estimates and errors. The stability condition of the closed-loop system with the proposed controller is represented to the linear matrix inequality (LMI) form, and the observer and control gain are obtained by LMI. An example is given to show the verification discussed throughout the paper.
Feature Selection Method by Information Theory and Particle S warm Optimization

In this paper, we proposed a feature selection method using Binary Particle Swarm Optimization(BPSO) and Mutual information. This proposed method consists of the feature selection part for selecting candidate feature subset by mutual information and the optimal feature selection part for choosing optimal feature subset by BPSO in the candidate feature subsets. In the candidate feature selection part, we computed the mutual information of all features, respectively and selected a candidate feature subset by the ranking of mutual information. In the optimal feature selection part, optimal feature subset can be found by BPSO in the candidate feature subset. In the BPSO process, we used multi-object function to optimize both accuracy of classifier and selected feature subset size. DNA expression dataset are used for estimating the performance of the proposed method. Experimental results show that this method can achieve better performance for pattern recognition problems than conventional ones.
Development of esXML for Energy Information Exchange

In future digital environment, energy management system will meet the real-time capability to process the emergency events, unexpected blackouts or over-load, and the high speed to provide the consumer service events such as remote meter reading. According to, energy management system needs the simple and independent information exchange model which can transmit various energy event information in real-time. In this paper, we developed an esXML that was divided into two modelings, device modeling and event modeling, based on XML using object-oriented modeling. As a result of experiments, the system was able to exchange information independently and efficiently.
Minimized Stock Forecasting Features Selection by Automatic Feature Extraction Method

This paper presents a methodology to 1-day-forecast stock index using the automatic feature extraction method based on the neural network with weighted fuzzy membership functions (NEWFM). The distributed non-overlap area measurement method selects the minimized number of input features by automatically removing the worst input features one by one. CPP
(Current Price Position of the day n: a percentage of the difference between the price of the day n and the moving average from the day n-1 to the day n-m) and the 2 wavelet transformed coefficients from the recent 32 days of CPP
are selected as minimized features using bounded sum of weighted fuzzy membership functions (BSWFMs). For the data sets, from 1989 to 1998, the proposed method shows that the forecast rate is 60.93%.

There are rule-based learning method and statistic based learning method and so on which represent learning method for hierarchy relation between domain term. In this paper, we propose to leveling and similarity measure using the extended AHP of fuzzy term in Information system. In the proposed method, we extract fuzzy term in document and categorize ontology structure about it and level priority of fuzzy term using the extended AHP for specificity of fuzzy term. the extended AHP integrates multiple decision-maker for weighted value and relative importance of fuzzy term. and compute semantic similarity of fuzzy term using min operation of fuzzy set, dice's coefficient and Min+dice's coefficient method. and determine final alternative fuzzy term. after that compare with three similarity measure. we can see the fact that the proposed method is more definite than classification performance of the conventional methods and will apply in Natural language processing field.
Development of Individualization Wrong Answer Note Model Using Collective Intelligence

This dissertation about the wrong answer note model development which is individualized investigates a problem. The method which is used from here uses a group sincerity and adds wrong answer analysis leads and to the wrong answer person explanation note of the pattern which is similar refers a wrong answer note explanation. The result which this dissertation is principal will reach to the wrong answer where is not the explanation about right answer and the process which is incorrect and a wrong answer will seek will be able to arrange. There is a possibility of finding the solution which existing wrong answer note system is improved with the method which is proposed.
Distributed Moving Algorithm of Swarm Robots to Enclose an Invader

When swarm robots exist in the same workspace, first we have to decide robots in order to accomplish some tasks. There have been a lot of works that research how to control robots in cooperation. The interest in using swarm robot systems is due to their unique characteristics such as increasing the adaptability and the flexibility of mission execution. When an invader is discovered, swarm robots have to enclose a invader through a variety of path, expecting invader's move, in order to effective enclose. In this paper, we propose an effective swarm robots enclosing and distributed moving algorithm in a two dimensional map.
Mesh Generation Methodology for FE Analysis of 3D Structures Using Fuzzy Knowledge and Bubble Method

This paper describes an automatic finite element mesh generation for finite element analysis of three-dimensional structures. It is consisting of fuzzy knowledge processing, bubble meshing and solid geometry modeler. This novel mesh generation process consists of three subprocesses: (a) definition of geometric model, i.e. analysis model, (b) generation of bubbles, and (c) generation of elements. One of commercial solid modelers is employed for three-dimensional solid structures. Bubble is generated if its distance from existing bubble points is similar to the bubble spacing function at the point. The bubble spacing function is well controlled by the fuzzy knowledge processing. The Delaunay method is introduced as a basic tool for element generation. Automatic generation of finite element for three-dimensional solid structures holds great benefits for analyses. Practical performances of the present system are demonstrated through several mesh generations for 3D geometry.
A study on integration of XML application schema for MGIS

Information integration for distributed and heterogeneous data sources is still an open challenging, and schema matching is critical in this process. This paper presents and approach to automatic elements matching between XML application schemas using similarity measure and relaxation labeling. The semantic modeling of XML application schema has also been presented. The similarity measure method considers element categories and their properties. In an effort to achieve an optimal matching, contextual constraints are used in the relaxation labeling method. Based on the semantic modeling of XML application schemas, the compatible constraint coefficients are devised in terms of the structures and semantic relationships as defined in the semantic model. To examine the effectiveness of the proposed methods, an algorithm for XML schema matching has been developed, and corresponding computational experiments show changes of calculated values.
A Movie Rating Prediction System of User Propensity Analysis based on Collaborative Filtering and Fuzzy System

Recently an intelligent system is developed for the service what users want not a passive system which just answered user's request. This intelligent system is used for personalized recommendation system and representative techniques are content-based and collaborative filtering. In this study, we propose a prediction system which is based on the techniques of recommendation system using a collaborative filtering and a fuzzy system to solve the collaborative filtering problems. In order to verify the prediction system, we used the data that is user's rating about movies. We predicted the user's rating using this data. The accuracy of this prediction system is determined by computing the RMSE(root mean square error) of the system's prediction against the actual rating about the each movie and is compared with the existing system. Thus, this prediction system can be applied to base technology of recommendation system and also recommendation of multimedia such as music and books.

In this paper, we have studied about the ubiquitous service map for the effective u-City service providing. Through the research, we are going to propose the fact that it can be implemented ubiquitous services according to city characteristics. The proposed research could make it possible to be an intelligent decision making system by city characteristics. Also, nation, local government, companies can be assigned their appropriate load according to the proposed system for the effective u-City services.

Development of the Defect Inspection Equipment for Mobile TFT-LCD Modules

High level quality control is required for mobile TFT-LCD modules which are frequently used for fine observation. However, quantitative quality control is difficult. Defect inspection using naked eyes makes irregular inspection results. This paper developed desk type defect inspection equipment for mobile TFT-LCD modules using the same inspection criterion with that of naked eyes. From experiments using this equipments, possibilities of standardization in defect inspection equipment for mobile TFT-LCD modules are presented.
Multiple Attribute Group Decision Making Problems Based on Fuzzy Number Intuitionistic Fuzzy Information

Fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy sets (FNIFSs), each of which is characterized by a membership function and a non-membership function whose values are trigonometric fuzzy number rather than exact numbers, are a very useful means to describe the decision information in the process of decision making. Wang  developed some arithmetic aggregation operators, such as the fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy weighted averaging (FIFWA) operator, the fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted averaging (FIFOWA) operator and the fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid aggregation (FIFHA) operator. In this paper, based on the FIFHA operator and the FIFWA operator, we investigate the group decision making problems in which all the information provided by the decision-makers is presented as fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices where each of the elements is characterized by fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, and the information about attribute weights is partially known. An example is used to illustrate the applicability of the proposed approach.
On the Minimax Disparity Obtaining OWA Operator Weights

The determination of the associated weights in the theory of ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operators is one of the important issue. Recently, Wang and Parkan [Information Sciences 175 (2005) 20-29] proposed a minimax disparity approach for obtaining OWA operator weights and the approach is based on the solution of a linear program (LP) model for a given degree of orness. Recently, Liu [International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, accepted] showed that the minimum variance OWA problem of Fuller and Majlender [Fuzzy Sets and Systems 136 (2003) 203-215] and the minimax disparity OWA problem of Wang and Parkan always produce the same weight vector using the dual theory of linear programming. In this paper, we give an improved proof of the minimax disparity problem of Wang and Parkan while Liu's method is rather complicated. Behavior Learning and Evolution of Swarm Robot System using Q-learning and Cascade SVM

In swarm robot systems, each robot must behaves by itself according to the its states and environments, and if necessary, must cooperates with other robots in order to carry out a given task. Therefore it is essential that each robot has both learning and evolution ability to adapt the dynamic environments. In this paper, reinforcement learning method using many SVM based on structural risk minimization and distributed genetic algorithms is proposed for behavior learning and evolution of collective autonomous mobile robots. By distributed genetic algorithm exchanging the chromosome acquired under different environments by communication each robot can improve its behavior ability. Specially, in order to improve the performance of evolution, selective crossover using the characteristic of reinforcement learning that basis of Cascade SVM is adopted in this paper.
An Effective Reduction of Association Rules using a T-Algorithm

An association rule mining has been studied to find hidden data pattern in data mining. A realization of fast processing method have became a big issue because it treated a great number of transaction data. The time which is derived by association rule finding method geometrically increase according to a number of item included data. Accordingly, the process to reduce the number of rules is necessarily needed. We propose the T-algorithm that is efficient rule reduction algorithm. The T-algorithm can reduce effectively the number of association rules. Because that the T-algorithm compares transaction data item with binary format. And improves a support and a confidence between items. The performance of the proposed T-algorithm is evaluated from a simulation.
