A note on Linguistic quantifiers modeled by Sugeno integral with respect to an interval-valued fuzzy measures

Ying[M.S. Ying, Linguistic quantifiers modeled by Sugeno integrals, Artificial Intelligence 170(2006) 581-606] studied a framework for modeling quantifiers in natural languages in which each linguistic quantifier is represented by a family of fuzzy measures and the truth value of a quantified proposition is evaluated by using Sugeno integral. In this paper, we consider interval-valued fuzzy measures and interval quantifiers which are the generalized concepts of fuzzy measures and quantifiers, respectively. We also investigate logical properties of a first order language with interval quantifiers modeled by the Sugeno integral with respect to an interval-valued fuzzy measures.
Hierarchical Internet Application Traffic Classification using a Multi-class SVM

In this paper, we introduce a hierarchical internet application traffic classification system based on SVM as an alternative overcoming the uppermost limit of the conventional methodology which is using the port number or payload information. After selecting an optimal attribute subset of the bidirectional traffic flow data collected from the campus, the proposed system classifies the internet application traffic hierarchically. The system is composed of three layers: the first layer quickly determines P2P traffic and non-P2P traffic using a SVM, the second layer classifies P2P traffics into file-sharing, messenger, and TV, based on three SVDDs. The third layer makes specific classification of the entire 16 application traffics. By classifying the internet application traffic finely or coarsely, the proposed system can guarantee an efficient system resource management, a stable network environment, a seamless bandwidth, and an appropriate QoS. Also, even a new application traffic is added, it is possible to have a system incremental updating and scalability by training only a new SVDD without retraining the whole system. We validate the performance of our approach with computer experiments.

In this paper, we discuss a decentralized observer design problem for the fault detection in the large-scale continuous-time T-S (Takagi-Sugeno) fuzzy system. Since the fault detection residual is desired to be as sensitive as possible, on the fault, we use
index performance criterion. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such a observer is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Design of Fuzzy Logic based MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) Algorithm for Urban Wind Turbine System

Generally, wind industry has been oriented to large power systems which require large windy areas and often need to overcome environment restrictions. However, small-scale wind turbines are closer to the consumers and have a large market potential, and much more efforts are required to become economically attractive. In this paper, a prototype of a small-scale urban wind generation system for battery charging application is described and a fuzzy logic based MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) algorithm which can be effectively applied to urban wind turbine system is proposed. Through Matlab based simulation studies and actual implementation using DSP of the proposed algorithm, the feasibility of the proposed scheme is verified.
Image Quality Enhancement by Using Logistic Equalization Function

This paper presents a quality enhancement of images by using a histogram equalization based on the symmetric logistic function. The histogram equalization is a simple and effective spatial processing method that it enhances the quality by adjusting the brightness of image. The logistic function that is a sigmoidal nonlinear transformation function, is applied to non-linearly enhance the brightness of the image according to its intensity level frequency. We propose a flexible and symmetrical logistic function by only using the intensity with maximum frequency in an histogram and the total number of pixels. The proposed function decreases the computation load of an exponential function in the traditional logistic function. The proposed method has been applied for equalizing 5 images with a different resolution and histogram distribution. The experimental results show that the proposed method has the superior enhancement performances compared with the source images and the traditional global histogram equalization, respectively.
Clustering Algorithm for Efficient Use of Energy in Wireless Sensor Network

In oder to operate sensor networks effectively it is very important to use the energy in the individual nodes efficiently and so increase their lifetime. Cluster-based routing algorithms such as LEACH and HEED obtain the efficiency of energy using data transfer between cluster heads and its members. In this paper we analyze the typical cluster-based routing algorithms and suggest a new energy efficient method of electing the cluster heads with the maximum delay of dead nodes occurrence. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is verified through MATLAB simulation.
Platform Development for Maze Search Algorithms Testing

Many contests by micro mouse was celebrated of which maze search algorithms performance are compared. That is used in various forms based on left(right) weight method, euclidean algorithm method, hill climbing method. However we feel uncomfortable to test algorithms performance through direct development of programs or hardwares as no software platform to test in maze search algorithms. In this research we develop of a platform for maze search algorithms that is easily to produce various forms of maze that are hard to be realized by hardware, to apply algorithms, and evaluate the seek time, operation count, steps and performance. The platform is consist of main layer, interface layer, user layer which has merit to apply and replace easily algorithms. We verified that the maze search algorithm can be applied even in the development and experiment of algorithm by evaluating and analyzing its performance through the experiment of platform.
Intelligent Dust Chamber Bag Control System using Case-Based Reasoning

In this paper, we develop the intelligent remote dust chamber bag control system which is combination of the advanced IT and traditional dust chamber based on event. At first, the message format is defined for the efficient dust chamber bag information transmission using power line communication. Also, we define the data types to logically model the dust chamber and the dust chamber bag, and they are logically modeled using XML and object-oriented modeling method. In addition to, we apply the case-based reasoning for showing the dust chamber bag exchange time intelligently to user at real-time using casebase, that is collected by case or case-based reasoning result, and that is described using XML.
Line Tracking Method of AGV using Sensor Fusion

This paper present to study the guidance system as localization technique using sensor fusion and line tracking technique using virtual line for AGV(autonomous guided vehicle). An existing AGV could drive on decided line only. And representative guidance systems of such guidance system are magnet-gyro guidance and wired guidance. However, those have had the high cost of installation and maintenance, and the difficulty of system change according to variation of working environment. To solve such problems, we make the localization system which is fused with a laser navigation and gyro, encoder. The system is robust against noise, and flexible according to working environment through sensor fusion. For line tracking of laser navigation without wire guidance, we set the virtual line in program, and design the driving controller based on difference of angle and distance between AGV's position and decided virtual line. To experiment, we use the AGV which is made by ourselves, and experiment the line tracking repeatedly on same experimental environment. In result, maximum distance error between decided virtual line and AGV's position was less than 49.93mm, and we verified that the proposed system is efficient for line tracking of actual AGV.
Real-Time Mapping of Mobile Robot on Stereo Vision

This paper describes the results of 2D mapping, feature detection and matching to create the surrounding environment in the mounted stereo camera on Mobile robot. Extract method of image's feature in real-time processing for quick operation uses the edge detection and Sum of Absolute Difference(SAD), stereo matching technique can be obtained through the correlation coefficient. To estimate the location of a mobile robot using ZigBee beacon and encoders mounted on the robot is estimated by Kalman filter. In addition, the merged gyro scope to measure compass is possible to generate map during mobile robot is moving. The Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot technology with an intelligent robot can be applied efficiently in human life would be based.
A Clinical Protocol Development Methodology for Ubiquitous Healthcare Service

With the advances in ubiquitous service infrastructure, healthcare services have drawn attention as one of promising application domains. In ubiquitous healthcare services, patients or care-givers as well as medical personnel are asked to play their roles and, in addition, the information system is supposed to have active roles. In medicine, clinical protocols have been developed and put into practice in order to reduce treatment variances and assure the service quality. In the same token, clinical protocols on ubiquitous service practices are need to be developed which takes into account both the clinical details and the ubiquitous service functionality. This paper introduces a clinical protocol modeling methodology which pays attention to participants and their tasks including contextual information. The proposed method has been successfully applied to a real application domain, OAB(overactive bladder) syndrome patient care to see how it builds a clinical protocol.

I used the encryption/decryption process that applied simple substitution and mathematical calculation algorithm at theory and encryption transmission steps protective early information. Hardware and financial loss are using spurious random number to be satisfied with the random number anger that isn't real random number to size so much perfect information protection using One-time pad for applying this. I was transformed into serial test under a test to prove spurious random number anger, and it is into random number anger stronger, and the transformation serial test that proposes is proving it in algorithm speed and efficiency planes.
Feature Map Based Complete Coverage Algorithm for a Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

The coverage ability is one of essential techniques for the Robotic Vacuum Cleaner (RVC). Most of the RVCs rely on random or regular pattern movement to cover a target space due to the technical difficulties to implement localization and map and constraints of hardwares such as controller and sensors. In this paper, we consider two main issues which are low computational load and using sensors with very limited sensing capabilities. First, in our approach, computing procedures to build map and detect the RVC's position are minimized by simplifying data obtained from sensors. To reduce computational load, it needs simply presenting an environment with objects of various shapes. Another isuue mentioned above is regarded as one of the most important problems in our approach, because we consider that many RVCs use low-cost sensor systems such as an infrared sensor or ultrasonic sensor with limited capabilities in limited range, detection uncertainty, measurement noise, etc. Methods presented in this paper are able to apply to general RVCs equipped with these sensors. By both simulation and real experiment, we evaluate our method and verify that the proposed method guarantees a complete coverage.
Development of Edge Detecting Sensor Using Ultrasonic Module and Design of Fuzzy PID/PI Edge-Line-Controller

In this paper, an edge detecting sensor using ultrasonic detection module is developed which will be used for areas of industrial applications such as plastic film winding system, cloth winding system, paper roll industry, etc. The developed sensor have properties that more exactly detect the edge line, that less affected by environmental noise, and that it produced more stable measurement output. The mass of the winding object is dominantly affect the dynamics of the system and it could produce undesirable result of the system such as stability of the closed-loop system and accuracy of edge-line-following-control(ELFC) objective. Also, there exist sensor noise due to the mechanical vibration or other environmental effect. These noise also degrade the efficiency of control system. In order to compensate these problems, this paper present a fuzzy PI/PID edge-line-controller, and which is designed and implemented.
Streaming Decision Tree for Continuity Data with Changed Pattern

Data Mining is mainly used for pattern extracting and information discovery from collected data. However previous methods is difficult to reflect changing patterns with time. In this paper, we introduce Streaming Decision Tree(SDT) analyzing data with continuity, large scale, and changed patterns. SDT defines continuity data as blocks and extracts rules using a Decision Tree's learning method. The extracted rules are combined considering time of occurrence, frequency, and contradiction. In experiment, we applied time series data and confirmed resonable result.
Design of Lazy Classifier based on Fuzzy k-Nearest Neighbors and Reconstruction Error

In this paper, we proposed a new lazy classifier with fuzzy k-nearest neighbors approach and feature selection which is based on reconstruction error. Reconstruction error is the performance index for locally linear reconstruction. When a new query point is given, fuzzy k-nearest neighbors approach defines the local area where the local classifier is available and assigns the weighting values to the data patterns which are involved within the local area. After defining the local area and assigning the weighting value, the feature selection is carried out to reduce the dimension of the feature space. When some features are selected in terms of the reconstruction error, the local classifier which is a sort of polynomial is developed using weighted least square estimation. In addition, the experimental application covers a comparative analysis including several previously commonly encountered methods such as standard neural networks, support vector machine, linear discriminant analysis, and C4.5 trees.
Design of Control System for Hydraulic Cylinders of a Sluice Gate Using Fuzzy PI Algorithm

A main technology of opening and closing a sluice gate is accurate synchronous and position control for the two cylinders when they are moving with the sluice gate together over 10[m]. Since the supply flow and supply pressure of cylinders are not constant and a nonlinear friction force of the piston in cylinders exists, a difference will be made between the displacement of two cylinders. This difference causes the sluice gate to deform and abrade, and even it may be out of order. In order to solve this problem we design two kinds of fuzzy PI controllers. The former is for a position control of two cylinders, the latter is for their synchronous control. We show some simulation results compare the performance of fuzzy PI controller to the conventional PID controller.
Design of a SIFT based Target Classification Algorithm robust to Geometric Transformation of Target

This paper proposes a method for classifying targets robust to geometric transformations of targets such as rotation, scale change, translation, and pose change. Targets which have rotation, scale change, and shift is firstly classified based on CM(Confidence Map) which is generated by similarity, scale ratio, and range of orientation for SIFT(Scale-Invariant Feature Transform) feature vectors. On the other hand, DB(DataBase) which is acquired in various angles is used to deal with pose variation of targets. Range of the angle is determined by comparing and analyzing the execution time and performance for sampling intervals. We experiment on various images which is geometrically changed to evaluate performance of proposed target classification method. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a good classification performance.
Development of Project Success Model in Enterprise Using FCM

To increase the chance of the success of project, it is necessary to identify the important factors influencing the performance of project. Cognitive map has been used for analysing by investigating causal links among relevant factors. A fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) is an extension of a cognitive map with the additional capability of representing feedback through weighted causal links. Project performance is influenced by several factors such as input resources, possibility of achievement, concern of others and so on. The object of this paper is to develop the project success model of enterprise using a fuzzy cognitive map approach to investigate the degree of causal relationship between project performance and these factors.

Nonlinear Characteristic Analysis of Charging Current for Linear Type Magnetic Flux Pump Using RBFNN

In this work, to theoretically analyze the nonlinear charging characteristic, a Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) is adopted. Based on the RBFNN, an charging characteristic tendency of a Linear Type Magnetic Flux Pump (LTMFP) is analyzed. In the paper, we developed the LTMFP that generates stable and controllable charging current and also experimentally investigated its charging characteristic in the cryogenic system. From these experimental results, the charging current of the LTMFP was also found to be frequency dependent with nonlinear quality due to the nonlinear magnetic behaviour of superconducting Nb foil. On the whole, in the case of essentially cryogenic experiment, since cooling costs loomed large in the cryogenic environment, it is difficult to carry out various experiments. Consequentially, in this paper, we estimated the nonlinear characteristic of charging current as well as realized the intelligent model via the design of RBFNN based on the experimental data. In this paper, we view RBF neural networks as predominantly data driven constructs whose processing is based upon an effective usage of experimental data through a prudent process of Fuzzy C-Means clustering method. Also, the receptive fields of the proposed RBF neural network are formed by the FCM clustering.
Implementation of the Intelligent System using RFID for HealthCare Self-Diagnosis

In this paper, we implemented the intelligent healthcare system self-diagnosis that can achieve self-diagnosis by measured bio-signal(blood pressure, blood sugar, body fat monitor) after the recognize a user to access using RFID. The implemented healthcare self-diagnosis intelligent system is consist of kiosk structure that is RFID reader, bio-signal measuring instrument(hemadynamometer, glucometer, body fat monitor), computer for a part of database server and printer for print the result of self-diagnosis. It can achieve self-diagnosis of a user after compare and analyze the measured data and information of a user from database. The implemented system can make simple self-diagnosis even if not take a physical examination at hospital and apply to company, school, etc.
Performance Improvements of Brain-Computer Interface Systems based on Variance-Considered Machines

This paper showed the possibilities of performance improvement of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) decreasing classification error rates of EEG signals by applying Variance-Considered Machine (VCM) which proposed in our previous study. BCI means controlling system such as computer by brain signals. There are many factors which affect performances of BCI. In this paper, we used suggested algorithm as a classification algorithm, the most important factor of the system, and showed the increased correct rates. For the experiments, we used data which are measured during imaginary movements of left hand and foot. The results indicated that superiority of VCM by comparing error rates of the VCM and SVM. We had shown excellence of VCM with theoretical results and simulation results. In this study, superiority of VCM is demonstrated by error rates of real data.
