HMM-based Intent Recognition System using 3D Image Reconstruction Data

The mirror neuron system in the cerebrum, which are handled by visual information-based imitative learning. When we observe the observer`s range of mirror neuron system, we can assume intention of performance through progress of neural activation as specific range, in include of partially hidden range. It is goal of our paper that imitative learning is applied to 3D vision-based intelligent system. We have experiment as stereo camera-based restoration about acquired 3D image our previous research Using Optical flow, unscented Kalman filter. At this point, 3D input image is sequential continuous image as including of partially hidden range. We used Hidden Markov Model to perform the intention recognition about performance as result of restoration-based hidden range. The dynamic inference function about sequential input data have compatible properties such as hand gesture recognition include of hidden range. In this paper, for proposed intention recognition, we already had a simulation about object outline and feature extraction in the previous research, we generated temporal continuous feature vector about feature extraction and when we apply to Hidden Markov Model, make a result of simulation about hand gesture classification according to intention pattern. We got the result of hand gesture classification as value of posterior probability, and proved the accuracy outstandingness through the result.
A Study on the Knowledge Acquisition from Local Companies and Job Seekers using Data Mining Techniques

The purpose of the study is the acquisitions of knowledge related in job searching from local companies and job seekers using data mining techniques. At the first step, for the study, we had selected the local companies their headquarters are located in Jeonbuk province. Then we had picked the graduating students out from the high schools, colleges, and universities in the same area as the job seekers. After the targeting of the sample, we had surveyed 560 local companies and 14 schools for the collecting of the preliminary data. As the result of the survey, we could collect 173 responses from the companies and 551 responses from the job seekers. At the second step using data mining, we had adapted the C5.0 algorithm to extract the inference rules. Then we had used the Visual Basic (VB) programming language to visualize the rules at the third step. At the fourth step, we transformed the inference rules into DB tables. At the final step, we had executed the rule inferences to support the development of the long-term human resources development (HRD) strategies. As the result of the study, we could suggest the helpful information to the HRD directors and job seekers in designing their strategies in managing their jobs and career development.
A Fault-Tolerant QoS Routing Scheme based on Interference Awareness for Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we propose a fault-tolerant QoS routing scheme based on interference awareness for providing both high throughput and minimum end-to-end delay for wireless sensor networks. With the proposed algorithm, it is feasible to find out the optimal transmission path between sensor nodes to the sink node by using cumulative path metric where real-time delivery, high energy efficiency and less interference are considered as in path selection. Finally, simulation results show that network throughput and delay can be improved by using the proposed routing scheme.
A Crosswalk and Stop Line Recognition System for Autonomous Vehicles

Recently, development of technologies for autonomous vehicles has been actively carried out. This paper proposes a computer vision system to recognize lanes, crosswalks, and stop lines for autonomous vehicles. This vision system first recognizes lanes required for autonomous driving using the RANSAC algorithm and the Kalman filter, and changes the viewpoint from the perspective-angle view of the street to the top-view using the fact that the lanes are parallel. Then in the reconstructed top-view image this system recognizes a crosswalk based on its geometrical characteristics and searches for a stop line within a region of interest in front of the recognized crosswalk. Experimental results show excellent performance of the proposed vision system in recognizing lanes, crosswalks, and stop lines.
A Via Point Generation Method for Road Navigation of Unmanned Vehicles

This research deals with generating via points for autonomous navigation on a roadway for unmanned vehicles. When a vehicle plans a path from a starting point to a goal point, it should be able to map out which lane on which road it passes by. For this purpose, we should organize positional information of roads and save it as a database. This paper presents methods to save the database and to plan a shortest path to the goal by generating via points in consideration of the moving direction and the lane directions. Then we prove that the proposed algorithm can find the optimal path on the road through simulations.
Identification System Based on Partial Face Feature Extraction

This paper presents a new human identification algorithm using partial features of the uncovered portion of face when a person wears a mask. After the face area is detected, the feature is extracted from the eye area above the mask. The identification process is performed by comparing the acquired one with the registered features. For extracting features SIFT(scale invariant feature transform) algorithm is used. The extracted features are independent of brightness and size- and rotation-invariant for the image. The experiment results show the effectiveness of the suggested algorithm.
Approximation-Based Decentralized Adaptive Output-Feedback Control for Nonlinear Interconnected Time-Delay Systems

This paper proposes a decentralized adaptive output-feedback controller design for nonlinear interconnected systems with unknown time delays. The interaction terms with unknown delays are related to all states of subsystems. The time-delayed functions are compensated by using appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and function approximation technique. The observer dynamic surface design technique is employed to design the proposed memoryless local controller for each subsystem. In addition, we prove that all signals in the closed-loop system are semiglobally uniformly bounded and control errors converge to an adjustable neighborhood of the origin.
Sequence Stream Indexing Method using DFT and Bitmap in Sequence Data Warehouse

Recently there has been many active researches on searching similar sequences from data generated with the passage of time. Those data are classified as time series data or sequence data and have different semantics from scalar data of traditional databases. In this paper similar sequence search retrieves sequences that have a similar trend of value changes. At first we have transformed the original sequences by applying DFT. The converted data are more suitable for trend analysis and they require less number of attributes for sequence comparisons. In addition we have developed a region-based query and we applied bitmap indexes which could show better performance in data warehouse. We have built bitmap indexes with varying number of attributes and we have found the least cost query plans for efficient similar sequence searches.
Safe Climbing Path Planning by Image Processing

This paper deals with a safe climbing path planning for unmanned automatic vehicles. Unlike the existing path planning schemes, the safety is the highest priority for our approach. To achieve this, the global potential field which includes a dangerous zone as well a given terrain information is generated, and the way-points are determined by using image processing such as the erosion operation. The proposed method can reduce the computation effort and the amount of information, and provide the safe climbing path which is similar to human`s intuition.
Disease Classification using Random Subspace Method based on Gene Interaction Information and mRMR Filter

With the advent of DNA microarray technologies, researches for disease diagnosis has been actively in progress. In typical experiments using microarray data, problems such as the large number of genes and the relatively small number of samples, the inherent measurement noise and the heterogeneity across different samples are the cause of the performance decrease. To overcome these problems, a new method using functional modules (e.g. signaling pathways) used as markers was proposed. They use the method using an activity of pathway summarizing values of a member gene`s expression values. It showed better classification performance than the existing methods based on individual genes. The activity calculation, however, used in the method has some drawbacks such as a correlation between individual genes and each phenotype is ignored and characteristics of individual genes are removed. In this paper, we propose a method based on the ensemble classifier. It makes weak classifiers based on feature vectors using subsets of genes in selected pathways, and then infers the final classification result by combining the results of each weak classifier. In this process, we improved the performance by minimize the search space through a filtering process using gene-gene interaction information and the mRMR filter. We applied the proposed method to a classifying the lung cancer, it showed competitive classification performance compared to existing methods.
Fuzzy Tracking Control Based on Stereo Images for Tracking of Moving Robot

Tracking and recognition of robots are required for the cooperation task of robots in various environments. In the paper, a tracking control system of moving robot using stereo image processing, code-book model and fuzzy controller is proposed. First, foreground and background images are separated by using code-book model method. A candidate region is selected based on the color information in the separated foreground image and real distance of the robot is estimated from matching process of depth image that is acquired through stereo image processing. The open and close processing of image are applied and labeling according to the size of mobile robot is used to recognize the moving robot effectively. A fuzzy tracking controller using distance information and mobile information by stereo image processing is designed for effective tracking according to the movement velocity of the target robot. The proposed fuzzy tracking control method is verified through tracking experiments of mobile robots with stereo camera.
Sparse Document Data Clustering Using Factor Score and Self Organizing Maps

The retrieved documents have to be transformed into proper data structure for the clustering algorithms of statistics and machine learning. A popular data structure for document clustering is document-term matrix. This matrix has the occurred frequency value of a term in each document. There is a sparsity problem in this matrix because most frequencies of the matrix are 0 values. This problem affects the clustering performance. The sparseness of document-term matrix decreases the performance of clustering result. So, this research uses the factor score by factor analysis to solve the sparsity problem in document clustering. The document-term matrix is transformed to document-factor score matrix using factor scores in this paper. Also, the document-factor score matrix is used as input data for document clustering. To compare the clustering performances between document-term matrix and document-factor score matrix, this research applies two typed matrices to self organizing map (SOM) clustering.

Study on Local Path Control Method based on Beam Modeling of Obstacle Avoidance Sonar

Recently, as the needs of developing the micro autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) are increasing, the acquisition of the elementary technology is urgent. While they mostly utilizes information of the forward looking sonar (FLS) in conventional studies of the local path control as an elementary technology, it is desirable to use the obstacle avoidance sonar (OAS) because the size of the FLS is not suitable for the micro AUV. In brief, the local path control system based on the OAS for the micro AUV operates with the following problems: the OAS offers low bearing resolution and local range information, it requires the system that has reduced power consumption to extend the mission execution time, and it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an intelligent local path control algorithm based on the beam modeling of OAS with the evolution strategy (ES) and the fuzzy logic controller (FLC), is proposed. To verify the performance and analyze the characteristic of the proposed algorithm, the course control of the underwater flight vehicle (UFV) is performed in the horizontal plane. Simulation results show that the feasibility of real application and the necessity of additional work in the proposed algorithm.
Design of Path Tracking Controller for Underactuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Using Approach Angle Concept

In this paper, we propose a method for designing the path tracking controller using an approach angle concept for an underactuated autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). The AUV is controlled by the surge speed and yaw rate: there is no side thruster. To solve this underactuated AUV problem in the path tracking, we introduce an approach angle concept which makes the AUV converge to the reference path. And we design the path tracking controller using the proposed approach angle. To design the path tracking controller, we obtain the new vehicle`s error dynamics in the body-fixed frame, and then design the path tracking controller based on Lypunov direct method. Finally, some simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
The Effect of Internet Addiction of Elementary School Student on Impulsiveness and School Adjustment

This study investigated whether there is the difference of the level of impulsiveness school adjustment according to the internet addiction level of elementary school students or not. Also, this study examined the effect of internet addiction of elementary school students on impulsiveness and school adjustment. The result suggested that there was the difference of impulsiveness according to internet addiction level and the impulsiveness level of addiction and addiction potential groups were the highest. And, the school adjustment level of the addiction group was lower than the non-addiction and addiction potential group`s. The more elementary school students are addictive, the more their impulsiveness level are higher and their school adjustment level are lower.
Design of PID Controller for Magnetic Levitation RGV Using Genetic Algorithm Based on Clonal Selection

This paper proposes a novel optimum design method for the PID controller of magnetic levitation-based Rail-Guided Vehicle(RGV) by a genetic algorithm using clone selection method and a new performance index function with performances of both time and frequency domain. Generally, since an attraction type levitation system is intrinsically unstable and requires a delicate controller that is designed considering overshoot and settling time, it is difficult to completely satisfy the desired performance through the methods designed by conventional performance indexes. In the paper, the conventional performance indexes are analyzed and then a new performance index for Maglev-based RGV is proposed. Also, an advanced genetic algorithm which is designed using clonal selection algorithm for performance improvement is proposed. To verify the proposed algorithm and the performance index, we compare the proposed method with a simple genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization. The simulation results show that the proposed method is more effective than conventional optimization methods.
Development of auto-tuning algorithm for considering aging effect of wind turbine generator

Recently, concern over climate change and global politics associated with traditional fossil fuel energy sources has driven significant increase in wind energy utilization over the past decade around world. Generally, life-time of wind turbine system should be guaranteed for twenty years. Therefore, performance deterioration of wind turbine system occurs owing to aging effects for long term operation. In this work, a new type of auto tuning algorithm for overcoming the problem of performance deterioration is proposed. Furthermore, various simulations are carried out to verify the feasibility of the proposed scheme.
Estimation algorithm of ocean surface temperature flow based on Morphological Operation

Target detection is very difficult with complex clutters in IRST(Infrared Search and Track) system for a long distance target. Especially sea-clutter and ocean-surface with non-uniform temperature distribution make it difficult to detect incoming targets in images obtained in sea environment. In this paper, we propose a novel method based on morphological method for estimation of ocean surface with non-uniform temperature flow. In order to estimate the exact ocean surface temperature flow, we divided it into upper and lower bound flow. And after estimating it, the final ocean surface temperature flow is derived by a mean value of the estimated results. Also, we apply the multi-weighted technique with a variety of sizes of structure elements to overcome sub-sampling effect by using morphology method. Experimental results for ocean surface images acquired from many different environments are compared with results of existing method to verify the performance of the proposed methods.
On the Application of Game Theory to the Competition among Major Ports in NE Asia for T/S Cargos

Due to rapid growth of East Asian economy, some changes are being made in trade volume and shipping market of this area. Busan port in Korea and Shanghai port in China are continually increasing their investment in port development and competitiveness in order to become the logistics hub of Northeast Asia. Especially the competition for transshipment containers becomes more and more fierce. So in this study, we set a goal of increasing the port competitiveness on transshipment cargo by an analysis of competition strategies. We choose the Busan port and the Shanghai port as the research objects, game competition model and real data is used to analyze the two ports` price strategies and market share. According to the results, some advices will be put forward to enhance competitiveness of the two ports.
