Fuzzy Regression Analysis for Core Competency of Construction Subcontractors

In this paper, we conducted a conventional regression and fuzzy regression analysis of the core competencies of construction subcontractors. The study was undertaken to check whether these two types of regression core capabilities affect the rating of construction subcontractor. Conventional regression result showed some effect on the rating of construction subcontractors on which core competencies to management and firm contribution were conducted. With fuzzy regression analysis, on the other hand, the rating of construction subcontractors could see the Min and Conjunction problem which utilize 100% reliability of Min. Max and Conjunction. From the above, the dependent variable of conventional regression could determine the evaluation grade of construction subcontractor. The fuzzy regression analysis shows the estimator of evaluation grade of the construction subcontractor including or corresponding to the fuzzy output data.

It is well known that the structure of brain and consciousness of human have a phenomena of complex system. The human emotion have a many kind. The love is one of human emotion, which have been studied in sociology and psychology as a matter of great interested thing. In this paper, we consider a same and different time delay in love equation of Romeo and Juliet. We represent a behavior of love as a time series and phase portrait, and analyze the difference of behaviors between a same and different time delay.
A Study on Fuzzy Logic based Clustering Method for Radar Data Analysis

Clustering is one of important data mining techniques known as exploratory data analysis and is being applied in various engineering and scientific fields such as pattern recognition, remote sensing, and so on. The method organizes data by abstracting underlying structure either as a grouping of individuals or as a hierarchy of groups. Weather radar observes atmospheric objects by utilizing reflected signals and stores observed data in corresponding coordinate. To analyze the radar data, it is needed to be separately organized precipitation and non-precipitation echo based on similarities. Thus, this paper studies to apply clustering method to radar data. In addition, in order to solve the problem when precipitation echo locates close to non-precipitation echo, fuzzy logic based clustering method which can consider both distance and other properties such as reflectivity and Doppler velocity is suggested in this paper. By using actual cases, the suggested clustering method derives better results than previous method in near-located precipitation and non-precipitation echo case.
Analysis on Torques of Shoulder and Elbow Joints of Humanoid Robot Arm for Lifting Tasks

This paper analyses the torque characteristics of the shoulder and elbow joints of a humanoid robot arm that is useful for an object lifting and transferring task instead of human beings. For the purpose, some typical human lifting behaviors are considered, and various simulations for lifting and transferring an object have been performed by employing a humanoid robot arm having a simple configuration of shoulder and elbow joints. Through the simulation, it is shown that the torque patterns and ranges of the shoulder and elbow joints required for such a humanoid lifting and transferring task can be found earlier in the design of a humanoid robot arm. As a result, this effort is useful for us to design an effective robot arm.
Comparisons of Pattern Analysis in using the Four-digit Personal Identification Numbers according to Sensitivity -A University Case

This study is investigated the effect of sensitivity upon pattern of the four-digit personal identification numbers(PINs) of A-university students. Under survey 2, PINs were collected after each student had information about his PINs were used in disclose his test scores, But Under survey 1, each student didn`t have. Survey 2 is viewed more sensitive situation than survey 1 to students. The rate of occurrences of most common PINs which were created by the reason of easiness to remember or to use without caution, in survey 2 is five times less than survey 1 and using rate of girl students are considerably less than that of boys. By comparing frequencies of digits used at each position, it is found that significant differences exist between two surveys in the first, second and forth position except third. PINs are represented by the polygonal graph with that X-axis shows position and Y-axis shows digits from 0 to 9 used at each position. There are many different figures between two surveys. This study shows that students are more anxious about using the PINs in survey 2 which is viewed more sensitive than survey 1.
Study on the Transformable Quadruped Robot with Docking Module

This paper presents a study on transformable multiple quadruped robots by docking between robots and waist joints. This robot is able to go on a variety of angles because of mecanum wheels. It is also a hybrid design which allows robot use legs to overcome obstacles on complex terrains and wheels to move on flat ground. The robot is applied kinematics of mecanum wheels and walking, and its walking is based on specific patterns. Docking module is located in front and backside of robot, docking algorithm is suggested and fulfilled for docking between 2 robots. A waist joint is at the center of robot body for transformation and after docking and transformation, robot can activate new functions that carry something.
Design of Meteorological Radar Echo Classifier Based on RBFNN Using Radial Velocity

In this study, we propose the design of Radial Basis Function Neural Network(RBFNN) classifier in order to classify between precipitation and non-precipitation echo. The characteristics of meteorological radar data is analyzed for classifying precipitation and non-precipitation echo. Input variables is selected as DZ, SDZ, VGZ, SPN, DZ_FR, VR by performing pre-processing of UF data based on the characteristics analysis and these are composed of training and test data. Finally, QC data being used in Korea Meteorological Administration is applied to compare with the performance results of proposed classifier.
Design and Walking of Child-typed Humanoid Robot

In order to adapt to human`s life and perform missions, a humanoid robot needs a height at least similar with children`s. In this paper, we proposed a humanoid robot which is like a child who is taller than 1m. We presented showing the humanoid robot`s kinematics, designing of a three-dimensional model, developing mechanisms, and the hardware structures using servo motors and compact size PC. Through this process, we designed and manufactured child humanoid robot `CHARLES(Cognitive Humanoid Autonomous Robot with Learning and Evolutionary Systems)` that is robot is 1m 10cm tall and 8.16kg in weight. For robot`s walking, we applied to ZMP-based walking technique and the creation algorithm is applied for walking patterns. Through experiments, we analyzed walking patterns according to the creation and changing parameter values.
Robot Control based on Steady-State Visual Evoked Potential using Arduino and Emotiv Epoc

In this paper, The wireless robot control system was proposed using Brain-computer interface(BCI) systems based on the steady-state visual evoked potential(SSVEP). Cross Power Spectral Density(CPSD) was used for analysis of electroencephalogram(EEG) and extraction of feature data. And Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA) and Support Vector Machine(SVM) was used for patterns classification. We obtained the average classification rates of about 70% of each subject. Robot control was implemented using the results of classification of EEG and commanded using bluetooth communication for robot moving.
Alignment System for Display Panel using Edge Feature

This paper proposes a alignment system using edge feature. An alignment system obtains the position and orientation of printed circuit board(PCB) or liquid crystal display(LCD) panel through the fiducial marks. Thus, it is the indicator of the system performance how accurate we detect the positions of the fiducial marks in the target image. Edges have the geometrical characteristics such as positions, lengths, and shapes. These features are suitable for finding the marks and have the advantages of lighting variations, model occlusion, as well as variations in scale and angle. The performance of the proposed system is validated through the alignment experiment using an display panel alignment system included X, Y axis, and rotatable stage.
Experimental Studies on Bouncing and Driving Control of a Robotic Vehicle for Entertainment and Transportation

This paper presents the driving and bouncing control of a robotic vehicle for entertainment and transportation. The robotic vehicle is aimed to carry two passengers with a balancing mechanism by two wheels. To maximize the entertaining purpose, not only the balancing control performance but the bouncing control performance is implemented. Passengers can select different driving modes such as regular driving mode, balancing mode, and bouncing mode. Experimental studies of the balancing control performance as well as the bouncing control performance are conducted to see the feasibility as an entertainment robotic vehicle.
Emotion Recognition using Pitch Parameters of Speech

This paper studied various parameter extraction methods using pitch information of speech for the development of the emotion recognition system. For this purpose, pitch parameters were extracted from korean speech database containing various emotions using stochastical information and numerical analysis techniques. GMM based emotion recognition system were used to compare the performance of pitch parameters. Sequential feature selection method were used to select the parameters showing the best emotion recognition performance. Experimental results of recognizing four emotions showed 63.5% recognition rate using the combination of 15 parameters out of 56 pitch parameters. Experimental results of detecting the presence of emotion showed 80.3% recognition rate using the combination of 14 parameters.
A Study on the Information Management System Support for the Intelligent Autonomous Navigation Systems

The rapid increase of the current marine accidents is mainly due to the human execution errors. In an effort to address this, various kinds of researches such as construction of the digital vessels and vessel information monitoring systems have been conducted. But for safe navigation of vessels, it lack on systems study which can efficiently store, utilize and manage the mass data accepted by the vessel. In this paper, we propose a VWS(Virtual World System) that is based on the architecture of intelligent systems RVC(Reactive Layer-Virtual World-Considerative Layer) model of intelligent autonomous navigation system. VWS is responsible to store all the necessary information for safe navigation of the vessel and the information services to the sub-system of intelligent autonomous navigation system. VWS uses topology database to express the specific problem area, and utilizes a scheduling to reflect the characteristics of the real-time processing environment. Also, Virtual World defines API for the system to reflect the characteristics of the distributed processing environment. As a case study, the VWS is applied to a intelligent ship autonomous navigation system, and simulation is done to prove the effectiveness of the proposed system.
An Evaluation of Sustainability Management Using Fuzzy Relation

The aim of this study was to provide a method to assume the value of the continuous and possible management part to investigate the relationship between component of evaluation of Disaster Management and Sustainability Management in enterprise by obtaining Fuzzy Relation Matrix in view of necessity and possibility when there are new data. The index of Disaster Management was yielded from 100 small and medium-sized enterprises for 4 component of evaluations of based on ISO standard, and that of Sustainability Management was obtained from same enterprises for 6 component of evaluations in GRI G4 version of Sustainability Management guideline. The above results suggest that this model is significant by using 80 data as a training data and 20 data as a checking data from the 100 data obtained in this study.
A Study on the Factor Analysis of the Encounter Data in the Maritime Traffic Environment

The vessel encounter data collected from the vessel trajectories in the maritime traffic situation is possible to analyze vessel collision and near-collision risk using statistical method. In this study, analyzing variables extracted from the vessel encounter data using factor analysis, we determine main factors effecting vessel collision risk from vessel encounter data. In order to calculate each factor, it used principal component analysis for factor analysis after normalization and standardization of vessel encounter variables. As a result of the factor analysis, main effect factors are summarized into the vessel approach factor and collision avoidance variance factor.
Development of Energy Management System for Micro-Grid with Photovoltaic and Battery system

Global environmental concerns and the ever increasing need of energy, coupled with steady progress in renewable energy technologies, are opening up new opportunities for utilization of renewable energy resources. Distributed electricity generation is a suitable option for sustainable development thanks to the load management benefits and the opportunity to provide electricity to remote areas. Solar energy being easy to harness, non-polluting and never ending is one of the best renewable energy sources for electricity generation in present and future time. Due to the random and intermittent nature of solar source, PV plants require the adoption of an energy storage and management system to compensate fluctuations and to meet the energy demand during night hours. This paper presents an efficient, economic and technical model for the design of a MPPT based grid connected PV with battery storage and management system. This system satisfies the energy demand through the PV based battery energy storage system. The aim is to present PV-BES system design and management strategy to maximize the system performance and economic profitability. PV-BES (photovoltaic based battery energy storage) system is operated in different modes to verify the system feasibility. In case of excess energy (mode 1), Li-ion batteries are charged using CC-CV mechanism effectively controlled by fuzzy logic based PID control system whereas during the time of insufficient power from PV system (mode 2), batteries are used as backup to compensate the power shortage at load and likewise other modes for different scenarios. This operational mode change in PV-BES system is implemented by State flow chart technique based on SOC, DC bus voltages and solar Irradiance. Performance of the proposed PV-BES system is verified by some simulations study. Simulation results showed that proposed system can overcome the disturbance of external environmental changes, and controls the energy flow in efficient and economical way.
A Patent Trend Analysis for Technological Convergence of IoT and Wearables

This study aims at analyzing the convergence of Internet-of-Things and wearables technologies using cooperative patent classification(CPC). CPC, introduced to an increasing number of technological fields of Korean patents, is expected to be widely used in Patent Informatics because the classification codes in CPC are more specific than those of IPC, which reflect the characteristics of technologies in detail with accuracy. CPC has seldom been used up to date and most of the previous researches on technological convergence used IPC. As a pre-analysis step for analyzing the trend of technological convergence of IoT and wearables, CPC and IPC codes assigned to each patent were compared. By applying association rule mining to the analysis of CPC codes, we identified the technological fields where convergence frequently takes place and examined the trend of technological convergence over time.
