Liquid Adsorption Characteristics on Surface-treated Natural Zeolite
Journal of the Korean institute of surface engineering, volume 26, issue 6, 1993, Pages 285~290
A series of samples were prepared by treating natural zeolite from Kampo area with HCl and NaOH. And, the adsorption characteristics of some liquid samples were investigated by the Diamond-Kinter method. The adsorption amount of all liquid investigated was more effective in acid treatment than in alkali treatment. In the case of n-, iso-C3H7OH, thed adsorption amount of n-form which has smaller molecular size was larger. Similar tenedncy was observed in n-, iso-C4H9OH, but the amount was lower than n-, iso-C3H7OH. In CHCl3 and CCl4, that of CHCl, which is smaller molecular size and has polarity, was far lager. From the view of the molecular size, adsorption amount of C6H5CH3 and p-C6H4(CH3)2 showed the characteristics of surface activity rather than chemical treatment.
A study on the fabrication of porous cermet electrode for molten carbonate fuel cell anode
Journal of the Korean institute of surface engineering, volume 26, issue 6, 1993, Pages 291~298
In order to substitute for porous nickel anode in Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell(MCFC), porous cermet elec-trode was fabricated with Ni and Ni-P coated ceramic powder. Ni and Ni-P were coated by electroless plat-ing method in the nickel solution containing of hydrazine and sodium hypophosphate as a reducing agent. The plating solution was stirred by air and mechanical agitator. Ultrasonic irradiation was applied to the plating bath to improved the effect of agitation and coating speed. Electorde was formed by pressing method and doc-tor blade method followed by sinterd at
for 6 hours in H2 environment. Anode performance test carried out by potentiodynamic polarization technique in the MCFC operating condition and 154-161mA/
as ob-tained as a anode current density at the+100mV overpotential.
Studies on the Synthesis of Potassium Hexatitanate and Manufacturing Thin Film Type Matrix
Journal of the Korean institute of surface engineering, volume 26, issue 6, 1993, Pages 299~306
The characteristic of synthesized potassium hexatitanate and manufacturing of thin film type matrix for battery was studied. After ball milled the mixture with 1:4 of
and TiO2, mixsture was sintered at 85
and its product was confirmed with XRD. Adding the PTFE to the obtained potassium hexatitanate according to there various ball-mill time to control its particle size, thin film type matrix was manufactured. The high-est wettability of 50% was found with 12 hour ball milled powder containing 10w/o of PTFE and also it shown good mechanical properties. The matrix with
whisker shown 170% of wettability. Thed char-acteristics of matrix made by whisker and powder mixture were compared with the investigation of bubbled pressure and pore size distribution to improve its mechanical properties.
Development of Anti-Fingers Printed EGI Steel Sheet With High Corrosion Resistance
Journal of the Korean institute of surface engineering, volume 26, issue 6, 1993, Pages 307~315
A study on a new anti-finger printed EGI steel sheet with high corrosion resistance has been carried out to meet the recent requirement of high quality and performance of the pure zinc electrogalvanized steel sheet. The substrate was the pure zinc electrogalvanized sheet with the metallic coating of 20g/
. The two differ-ent processes for inorganic(chromating) and organic(resin) coating were applied. One was a two coat/two bake type to separately treat chromating and resin coating which is now widely used. The other was a one coat/one bake type to simultaneously treat them which is newly developed in this study. The solution for the one coat/one bake type was an aqua-base coating agents which was composed of inorganic and organic components. The new anti-finger printed EGI steel sheet with the Cr and resin coating weight of 13mg/
, respectively shows the superior corrosion resistance besides the good paintability, formability fingerprint resistance and earth characteristics properties.
Hardness and adhesion of the reactively sputtered Zr-ZrN on the stainless steel(SUS304) and tool steel(SKH9)
Journal of the Korean institute of surface engineering, volume 26, issue 6, 1993, Pages 316~326
Adhesion and hardeness are the most important properties of a hard coated layer which is applied to wear-resistant devices. Zr/ZrN layer was deposited on tool steel(SKH9) and stainless steel(SUS304) by a re-active D.C. magnetron sputtering technique and their microhardness and adhesion strength were measured for the films processed by changing the partial pressures of
mbar) and the substrate bias voltage(0~250V). The adhesion strength was evaluated by acoustic signals through the scratch-test with the incremental applied load. As the partial pressure of
gas and the substrate bias voltage were increased, the adhesion strength of tool steel was observed to be stronger than that of the stainless steel. The adhesion strength was generally, observed to decrease with the same tendency regardless of the kinds of substrates. The adhesion strength of tool steel was increased more and more strongly than that of stainless steel as heat-treated temperature was increased. The strength of tool steel was appeared to be high adhesion strength at
. From the failure mode of the film during the scratch adhesion test, the cohesive failure was observed to be obvious and the adhesive failure in a minor portion in the Zr/ZrN doublelayer regardless of the kinds of substrates.
Adhesion between Cu-18wt% Cr Alloy Film and Polyimide : Effect of Heat Treatment
Journal of the Korean institute of surface engineering, volume 26, issue 6, 1993, Pages 327~333
The effect of heat treatment on the adhesion between Cu-18wt% Cr film and polyimide has been studied by using T-peel test, AES, and XRD. Cu-18wt% Cr alloy and pure Cu films were sputter deposited onto pol-yimide. Cu was electroplated before and after heat treatment at
for 0.5 hr and 2 hrs respectively. The adhesion of metal film onto polyimide was considerably good before heat treatment, but heat treatment re-duced the peel adhesion strength in all specimens. The reduction in adhesion in adhesion strength values in the specimens which were plated after heat treatment was mainly due to Cr-O rich pahse formed in the metal/polyimide in-terface. In the specimens which were heat treated after plating, the enhanced ductility in the metal films con-tributes the peel adhesion strength by increasing the amount of deformation in metal strips.
Physico-Chemical Properties of Natural Zeolite -On the Zeolite from Kampo Area-
Journal of the Korean institute of surface engineering, volume 26, issue 6, 1993, Pages 334~340
The physico-chemical properties and characteristics after thermal treatment of natural zeolite from Kampo area were studied. The physico-chemical properties of natural zeolite were studied by investigating chemical composition, x-ray diffraction pattern(XRD), scanning electronic microscope(SEM), infrared spec-tra(IR), thermal analysis(TA), and cation exchange capacity(C.E.C.), and the characteristics of natural zeo-lite after thermal treatment from
were compared with the natural zeolite. This study showed that clinoptilolite was the predominant costituent in natural zeolite, and the natural zeolite contained a little amount of quartz and feldspar as impurities. Zeolite mineral was seen to develop slowly by the natural alternation of volcanic ash considering the almost amorphous crystal structure. The more temperature of ther-mal treatment increased, the more adsorption capacity decreased, considering the fact that the hydroxy peak diminished on infrared spectra, and that cation exchange capacity also decreased distinctly.
