The effect of electrolysis conditions on the composition and preferred orientation of Ni-Fe alloy electrodeposits

The effects of electrolysis conditions on the composition and preferred orientation of Ni-Fe alloy were studied using the sulfate-chloride baths paddle agitated. Cathode current efficiency is higher in the deposits from bath 2 than that of deposits from bath 1. The Fe content of alloy deposits from bath 2 is nearly constant(19∼21wt.%) in the wide range of current density, while it decreases noticeably with current density in the deposits from bath 1. The variation of Fe content at the edge of specimen is lower in deposits from bath 2 than those from bath 1. The alloy deposits show (111) & (200) preferred orientation for the deposits from bath 1 and bath 2 respectively.
Characteristics of Ar Plasma Excited by Helicon Wave

This work concerns a research for helicon wave plasma generators with applications to materials pro-cessing. For this end, helicon wave plasma source has been designed, constructed and tested. High density plasma was successfully produced and diagnosed with Langmuir probe. The measured maximum plasma de-nsity in this work was
with 295 gauss of magnetic field and electron temperature was about 3.5eV. The uniformity of plasma densities in the radial direction was excellent with 160 gauss of magnetic field on the cross section which is 10cm apart from the edge of the exciting coil.
The Analysis of Underpotential Deposition by Multilayer Adsorption Model

The underpotential deposition of zinc was investigated on carbon steel and nickel. The relationship be-tween the deposition potentials and the corresponding amounts of charge for deposited layers shows a very similar trend to the multilayer adsorption mechanism. The experimental results fit a mathematical model de-rived on the basis of the BET equation for the underpotential deposition.
A Study on Uniformity of Current Distribution in Hull Cell

The method of uniforming current distribution in Hull cell are studied by using auxiliary anode, current shield bipolar electrode, and combinings bipolar electrode with current shield in order to find a way of uni-form deposition. The current density distributions are measured by each ammeter of the same inner resistance connected to divided cathode pannel respectively. The current density distributions of cathode electrode divided into five sections with 5mm width have a tendency of linear inclination, and that of twenty sections have a tendency of smoother curve than the curve of original Hull cell pannel. Their results showed lower value on the high current density portion and higher value on the low portion than that original Hull cell pannel. The current distribution in Hull cell is able to unify by using auxiliary anode, or combining bipo-lar electrode with current shield, but not efficient in using one of both individually.
Estimation of Durability of corrugated Steel Pipes Made of Hot-Dip Galvanized Sheet Steels

Estimation of durability for corrugated steel pipe(CSP) has been evaluated by using several analytical methods. This study, using a plain hot-dip galvanized CSP as the base line, addresses additional coatings such as polymers sand bituminous coatings that may be used to achieve a desired design life of at least 50years. The behavior of both the soil side and the effluent side of the pipe have been studied. It is estimated that CSP generally provides outstanding dura-bility with regard to soil side effects, and that virtually any required service life can be attained by selecting appropri-ate coatingss and/or thickness of steel substrate. This study is limited to storm drainage systemss carrying naturally oc-curring surface water only. The recommendation in this report do not apply to sanitary or industrial waste sewers or other conduits used to carry corrosive effluents.
