An ENG analysis for estimating the individual capabilities of the rectus femoris muscle

Isometric muscle strength has become important as it is realized that a large variation in the human exists and is affected by many personal and environmental factors. Experiments have been performed for estimating the individual capabilities of the quadriceps femoris muscle in man. The surface EMG has been recorded on the belly of the rectus femoris muscle during voluntary isometric continuous exertion at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% MVC. As a muscle force (% MVC) increases, the rectified mean EMG amplitude increases in a non-linear form. The rectified mean EMG amplitude also increases in a non-linear with respect to fatigue progression. As the muscle force (% MVC) increases, an endurance time of isometric exertion decreases linearly. Analysis shows that rectified mean EMG amplitude is a consistent and sensitive measure of motor unit recruitments and can be useful in estimating an individual capability of a local muscle. Further, the result satisfies the sufficient condition that type S motor units are recruited first, while large motor units are recruited progressively as the fatigue develops.
A STUDY ON A PROBABILISTIC MULTI-LOCATION PROBLEM IN A TWO-ECHELON LOGISTIC SYSTEM FOR DETERIORATING ITEMS

A special case of the probabilistic multi-location problem is studied in a two-echelon logistic system for deteriorating items. The objective is to determine the location of the minimum number of supply centers among a discrete set of location sites of supply centers, such that the probability each retailer being covered by some supply center is not less than a specified value. A logistic cost is introduced as performance measure of the system, and leads us to analyze the impact of deterioration rate on the location problem. The results obtained from numerical examples are discussed, which provides effective guidelines that can be used for the logistic managerial decisions.
Quantitative Approaches for Classification of the Patterns on Scientific and Technological Development

The purpose of this study is to extract and classify the general patterns on scientific and technological development by quantitative approaches. Indicators used for this pattern classification amounted to a total of 39. what is more, these indicators were set up with the recent data for the first half of the 1970's mainly, and 141 nations were selected as the sample of the analysis. 7 aspects which prescribe the scentific and technological activities were established, and so 3 patterns of the S & T development were extrected by means of a "two-dimensional cross section" among them. (1) A pattern showing the trend of the exponential curve from the point over a certain level (in this study, it is defined as "Threshold Valued"). (2) A pattern in which elasticity of the exponential curve is gradually reduced from the point over the threshold value. (3) A pattern not showing any trend, but forming a large variance.
A system's approach for an aggregate control of order entry-production schedule-shippment cycle

In a complex production system, the efficient control of order entry-production schedule-shippment cycle is one of the most important managerial aspects. In this paper, an aggregate control mechanism has been developed. The result showed steps for improving and for optimizing the total systems efficiency. A simplified guidelines for a con ceptual data base has been suggested.

An Application of Experimental Designs to Improve the quality of Industrial product : optimization Methodology of statistical model. The primary object of this paper is to aid scientists and Engineers, in applying response surface procedures to obtain operating conditions for many technical fields, particularly for industrial manufacturing processes. The problem considered in this paper is to select technically and scientifically some important factors affecting the quality of products through the experimental design and analysis of response surface. Even though the mathematical model is unknown these statistical analysis can be applicable to control the quality of industrial products and to determine optimum operating conditions for many technical fields, particularly, for industrial manufacturing processes. This paper proposes a method to obtain the optimum operating condition, and how to find the condition by using table of orthogonal array experiments, and optimization methodology of statistical model.
