A Reconstructed Version of Teachers' Manual of Elementary Mathematics for Units 6, 7 and 8, Textbook 4 na

The 7th curriculum sets a basic direction based on learner centered teaching, with the aim of allowing students to develop their mathematical ability. Teachers' manuals are provided to help teachers fallow the basic direction and achieve the curriculum aims, but in practice they are not always helpful. Therefore, we reconstructed parts of a teachers' manual. This involved analyzing the contents of units 6, 7 and 8 of the elementary mathematics textbook 4 na to identify and outline the problems; introducing more detailed teaching methods and activities; and developing teaching learning materials. We tested the new version in several real classes and analysed the responses 6f teachers and students to examine the possibility of its practical use. The results suggest that the reconstructed version of the teachers' manual for units 6, 7 and 8 of textbook 4 na is of greater practical utility.
An Effective Approach to Utilize Prior Studies Based on Using Teaching Tools

The 7th curriculum sets a basic direction based on learner centered teaching. To this end, the curriculum puts a focus on activity centered classes using teaching tools. In reality, however, elementary school teachers find using the teaching tools in their classes difficult, although there are various studies going on to improve the practical use of the teaching tools in the classroom. In this paper, we present an effective approach to utilize those prior studies on using the teaching tools in classes for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.
School Mathematics and Mathematics Education Focusing on the Change in the Enlightenment Period

Mathematics can be divided into practical mathematics and logical mathematics. The 'Enlightenment Period' is the period in which our mathematics shifted from practical mathematics to logical mathematics. Considering the change of our school mathematics and mathematics education in the enlightenment period, we reach the following conclusions. First, the contents and forms of mathematics books followed to Western style, but the attitudes adhered to on. Second, making much of results than process, we are afraid of proof. Third, we necessitate the mathematics culture of enjoying itself.
The Analysis on the Necessary Factors for College Mathematics Learning and Its Implication on the Mathematics Education

In this paper, we performed research about the successful and unsuccessful factors for college math education. In addition, on the basis of the results from the comparative study on the Korean/foreign students' attitude toward the role of computers in math study, we tried to find out the ways to reflect the results on college math education. As the ways to improve college math education we propose that the professors should emphasize the significance of math and explain the successful and unsuccessful factors for math learning during the initial period of each semester. Furthermore, the professors should recognize the importance of computers in math study and ask for the university authority's support to provide necessary softwares and establish computer labs.
A study on the classification standards of the problem of analysis and synthesis

There are several kinds of mathematical thinking. The most basic mathematical thinking is analysis and synthesis. The problem of analysis and synthesis is one of the most important things in mathematics. We used mathematical textbook of Prof. Gusev for the study on the problem of analysis and synthesis. We suggested basic classification standard of problem of analysis and synthesis through historical survey and then suggested specific classification standard.
The Analysis in the Basic Cause of Learning-Stagnation on Mathematics of Junior High School Students

This research is aimed to analyze the causes of junior high school students' problems that was showed in a poor way at learning mathematics. So this is for the purpose of providing the basic data for searching for a means of teaching-learning to understand stagnant students. 5 male junior high students in teaming-stagnation were targets of this research, and we used two kinds of questionnaire in the field to find out the causes of learning-stagnation. We searched these students for the causes from a different standpoint of learning habits and self-possessed manners in mathematics.
An investigation of implementing the mathematical power in school mathematics

Although the mathematical power is considered important in the 7th curriculum, there is not concrete and systematic approach. To implement the mathematical power in the school mathematics, the several suggestions are given including the introduction of educational mathematics.
Analysis of Korean Students' Mathematics Learning Trends -Focused on 10th Graders-

According to the TIMSS and PISA, Korean students proved to score one of the best group among the participated countries on the cognitive area of school mathematics. As an attempt to find out the Korean students' trends of mathematics learning, we compared Korean and American 10th graders' mathematics test result. It was proved that Korean students were especially well equipped in retaining basic fact and formulas.
The Influence of the repeated learning of moving picture materials applying 'the development of mathematical power' program on The Self-Directed Learning

Despite the importance of mathematics education, many students in high school have lost their interests and felt difficulties and they don't have 'mathematical' experience with meanings attached because of the entrance examination. This paper attempted to resolve these problems and find the teaching-method with which students can study by themselves with more confidence. Nowadays students' use of Internet is very popular. After develop 'the development of mathematical power' program based on mathematics history, history, science, the application of problems in real world, and self-evaluation, I made students repeat them after making teaching lessons in classroom as moving pictures. Through this processes, I attempted to develop the Self-Directed Learning' ability by making public education substantial. First of all I analyzed the actual conditions on 'Self-Directed Learning' ability in mathematics subject, the conditions of seeing and hearing in Internet learning program, and students' and their parents' interests in Internet education. By analyzing the records, I observed the significance of the introducing mathematics history in mathematics subject in early stager, cooperative-learning, leveled-learning, self-directed learning, and Internet learning. Actually in aspect of applying 'the development of mathematical power' program, at first I made up the educational conditions to fix the program, collected the teaching materials, established the system of teaching-learning model, developed materials for the learning applying Internet mail and instruments of classroom, and carried out instruction to establish and practice mathematics learning plan. Then I applied the teaching-learning model of leveled cooperation and presentation loaming and at the same time constructed and used the leveled learning materials of complementary, average, and advanced process and instructed to watch teaching moving pictures through Internet mail and in the classroom. After that I observed how effective this program was through the interest arid attitude toward mathematics subject, learning accomplishment, and the change of self-directed learning. Finally, I wrote the conclusion and suggestion on the preparation of conditions fur the students' voluntary participation in mathematics learning and the project and application on 'the development of mathematical power' program and repeated learning with the materials of moving pictures in classroom.
