Development of Ubiquitous Telemetry Water Reading System Using RF and CDMA

In recent, there has been progressed in various ways of research and development about a ubiquitous telemetry reading, but several problems are arising the reliability of reading value, power supply and so on. These issues were solved by using the RF module and digital pulse meter with photocoupler. Realized by this study, a telemetry reading system, utilizing RF and CDMA telecommunication, and check in real time the state of water leakage by managing the distinct usage data. In addition, the users can check it in person, and it can minimize the public enmities. Further, as a part of the silver industry fur constantly growing senior population, it might be introduced as safety supervision system.
Comparison of Heat Transfer Performance and Pressure Drop of Fin-Tube and Aluminum Heat Exchangers

This study presents comparison of heat transfer and air side friction characteristics in a condenser condition of air conditioner between Louver fin-tube heat exchangers and aluminum parallel heat exchangers. All experiments are performed using an air-enthalpy type calorimeter, which is designed based on the method described in ASHRAE standards. The air velocities crossing the heat exchanger tubes are varied from 0.7 to 1.6 m/s with 0.3 m/s interval, maintaining air dry temperature and relative humidity at

A Parasol-type Grid-connected Solar Power Generation System for Utilization of New and Renewable Energy

In this paper, in order to utilize new and renewable energy a grid-connected parasol-type solar power generation system is presented. The proposed power system combining with commercial electric power system is designed to meet the need fur maximum power consumption and parasols for the people staying at beach during hot summer. Solar electric power can be charged in rechargeable batteries during day time and used to provide charged electric power to loads like lamps and fans during night time, A battery charge-discharge controller is required for the good performance of batteries to be charged. The presented battery controller is designed based on high performance microprocessor for precise charge-discharge operations. An alarm circuit to give notice of battery exchange time and other convenient functions are installed in the system. We implemented the proposed solar power generation system at East Sea beach during peak summer season to verify its productivity and performance by experiments.

Comparing with fixed-type Robots, Mobile Robots have the advantage of extending their workspaces. But this advantage need some sensors to detect mobile robot`s position and find their goal point. This article describe the navigation teaching method of mobile robot using omni-directional position detection system. This system offers the brief position data to a processor with simple devices. In other words, when user points a goal point, this system revise the error by comparing its heading angle and position with the goal. For these processes, this system use a conic mirror and a single camera. As a result, this system reduce the image processing time to search the target for mobile robot navigation ordered by user.

Error is the major problem in communication system. Absolute circuit is one of the most important building blocks to implement for the error measurement in communication system as well as in analog circuit design. The main goal of this paper is to design a circuit with high accuracy and minimum error performance. In this paper, a new current mode absolute circuit is implemented to calculate the absolute value of two signals. This new design shows enhanced performance and low distortion over the previous implementation. The proposed circuit is simulated using Hspice and implemented in analog viterbi decoder. It is very suitable for implementing in error calculation for the large scale integrated circuit. Hspice simulation results of previous and new one circuit are reported.
The Study on Train Separation Control Technology using Balise for Conventional Line Speed Up

KORAIL carries out an improvement project of railway signaling system for the conventional line from the existing method which permits a train to move within limited speed the ground signal of ATS(Automatic Train Stop) system. The proposed system makes possible that a train can be driven using a speed profile created by onboard signaling system(ATP) with the movement authority from ground balise. A driving test over 100,000km is being executed by developing a tilting train for the speed elevation on the conventional line. And, the introduction of the tilting train by ATP system to the Jung-ang line is expected. However, a speed elevation on a curved line section has a restriction. Therefore, research on safety braking model and train separation control technology for the localization of ATP system is required preferentially. In this paper, we presented a safety braking model of ATP system and a train separation control method that use ground balise as variable information provider, and executed a performance simulation.
Analysis of Power Transfer and Noise characteristics for PCB Design of DC/DC Converter

In this paper, the two PCB design method results of boost converters are simulated with same circuit device parameters. One is modeled with microstrip structure and the other is modeled two layers structure without reference plane. Between devices of each circuit are routed 5 centimeters. When the switching frequency is operated 100kHz, the overshoot by signal reflection and the noise characteristics by frequency spectrum for the output voltage and current of the power switch is compared and analyzed using simulation.

A voltage regulator can be used to reduce the effect of the power-supply noise on the control voltage of the VCO. An accurate analysis of the voltage regulator circuit is needed for the optimal design of the voltage regulator. Hybrid Algorithm for Interpolation Based on Macro-block Gray Value Gradient under H.264

H.264 suggests applying a 2-D 6-tap wiener filter to realize the interpolation for half-pixel positions, followed by a bilinear interpolation to get the data of quarter-pixels precision. This method is comparatively simpler; however, it only considers the affection of 4-connection neighborhood ignoring the influence that comes from the changing rate between respective neighborhoods. As a result, it has the characteristics of a Low-pass filter under the risk of losing high-frequency weights. The Cubic interpolation uses the gray-values within the larger regions of points to be sampled for interpolation. Nevertheless, the cubic interpolation is more complicated and computational. We give a deep analysis on the features while applying both bilinear and cubic interpolation in H.264 presenting a proper selection of interpolation algorithm with respect to specific distribution of gray-value in a certain grand block. The experiments point out that load far motion searching and interpolation are reduced when promoting the precision of interpolation simultaneously.

The NGN(Next-Generation Network) structure has been considered from various points of view as all If wireless-wired integration network and its performance is one of the main issue in these days. In this paper, various wired and wireless integrated networks with voice service are designed and simulated to obtain problems and factors affects the network performance using OPnet simulator. The characteristics only showed in the wired and wireless integrated networks are measured and analyzed compared with the single networks such as a wired or wireless networks. Especially, in the wired and wireless integrated networks showed degrading performance even if there are few transmissions in the network and furthermore, the various networks of increasing numbers of the nodes and transmission are simulated and evaluated.

In this paper, the trend of technology and the business strategy on `Hearing Aids` are investigated for the industry promotion of medical devices based on IT engineering from the 316 patents of `Hearing Aids` registered in Korean Intellectual Property Office(KIPO). The classification of technology on `Hearing Aids` is performed according to the IPC(International Patent Classification) code to and the core technology of `Hearing Aids` As the results of classification of IPC code, the number of patents with IPC code `H04R`, `H04B`, `H01M`, and `A61F` are 160, 46, 40, and 19 respectively. We found that the Digital technology and the Medical Transplants technology are come to the front of `Hearing Aids` and the foreign `Hearing Aids` companies are filed an application with the Korean Intellectual Property Office(KIPO) before their business.

A RFID Multi-Authentication Method for Logistics Systems

Recently the RFID system, which can recognize multiple tags simultaneously through wireless communication, is emerging as a new technology that can replace the barcode system. Furthermore, related industries are carrying out active research on tags and authentication protocols with guaranteed security that are widely applicable to logistics, distribution, etc. The present study proposes a protocol with enhanced security by introducing the concept of RBAC to the authentication protocol, and a method with lower security for effective mass authentication. The proposed method is advantageous in that it guarantees security against spoofing attack, traffic analysis, replay attack, etc. based on hash function.
Localization System of Neighboring Vehicles Using GPS and Bluetooth

Providing visual field for a driver is one of the most important things for safe driving. Therefore, it will be a first step fur the safe driving that the driver recognizes front and back outside scenes within short time in the car. Specially, it is essential to take the visual field in frequently foggy area where the traffic accident can cause highest rank in the number of deaths. In this paper, our technique can provide the visual field by displaying the location of neighboring vehicles on the monitoring system, embedded board navigator in the car, using the location information of the vehicles from GPS(Global Positioning System) in real time. It is expected that this system can contribute to help safe driving and to lower collision accidents by guiding to cope with unexpected circumstances.
Cryptanalysis of Remote User Authentication Scheme

In 2004, Das et al. proposed a scheme for preserving a user anonymity. However, In 2005, Chien and Chen pointed out that Das et al. scheme fail to protect the user anonymity, and proposed a new scheme. And then in 2007, Hu et al. pointed out that Chien and Chen scheme also has some problems; it is Strong masquerading server/user attack, Restricted replay attack, Denial of service attack. it also slow wrong password detection, and proposed a new scheme. In 2008, Bindu et al. repeatedly pointed out on Chien and Chen scheme and proposed their scheme. However, we point out that all of their scheme also has some problems; it is not to protect the user anonymity and Denial of service attack. In addition, Bindu et al. is vulnerable to Strong masquerading server/user attack. Therefore, we demonstrate that their scheme also have some problems; it is the user anonymity and denial of service attack as above.
Vocabulary Definition for Describing Business Process Events of International Logistics on EPCIS

The EPCglobal Network is a system which provides the information of items to suppliers, consumers, and customers by granting identification numbers on the goods based on the technologies of EPC(Electronic Product Code) and RFID(Radio Frequency Identification), and connecting the space to store those information by network. The EPCglobal architecture framework is also a service consolidating supply and process chain by using EPC for the common goal of business corporations. In the national level, it is necessary to define standard vocabularies for each location and logistics business process for RFID environment using the pre-constructed logistics information infrastructure. Therefore, we define the standard vocabularies and partially user vocabularies for international logistics on EPCglobal network architecture. Finally, we believe that our vocabularies contribute to describing the events fur the EPCglobal network architecture and actually providing usable platform via the XML implementation.

In this paper, it is reviewed vulnerability of security in S-MAC communication protocol of sensor network, and analyzed in the respect of power efficiency, which is consumed at each stage of communication procedure in according to vulnerability of denial of service. Home network is a network composed of devices in home and is being expanded by evolving devices. Also, The number of digital contents in home network has been increasing steadily. But it is difficult to continually protect the rights of digital contents due to lack of interoperability among contents devices. Besides, a license has to be re-issued by DRM sever for contents transfer between devices. Thus, this paper proposes framework which can freely transfer and contents to another device through mutual device authentication and a system that can decrease overload of license management of the DRM sever and that enable device outside home network to use contents through user authentication.
Text Region Detection using Edge and Regional Minima/Maxima Transformation from Natural Scene Images

Text region detection from the natural scene images used in a variety of applications, many research are needed in this field. Recent research methods is to detect the text region using various algorithm which it is combination of edge based and connected component based. Therefore, this paper proposes an text region detection using edge and regional minima/maxima transformation algorithm from natural scene images, and then detect the connected components of edge and regional minima/maxima, labeling edge and regional minima/maxima connected components. Analysis the labeled regions and then detect a text candidate regions, each of detected text candidates combined and create a single text candidate image, Final text region validated by comparing the similarity and adjacency of individual characters, and then as the final text regions are detected. As the results of experiments, proposed algorithm improved the correctness of text regions detection using combined edge and regional minima/maxima connected components detection methods.
The Model of Estimating Spectrum Requirements in Mobile Networks with Data Traffic

Today, as various access technologies appear, for example WiMax, WiBro, the demand for spectrum is increasing rapidly. Spectrums are a national resource with scarcity value so that we need to a]locate them effectively for the national economy and industry. Accordingly, In the paper, we proposed several factors and new model for estimating spectrum requirements of a next generation mobile network with multimedia data services. These are self-similarity characteristics of data traffic, engineered capacity considering QoS, structure of FA increase, asymmetry of data traffic between uplink and downlink, handoff traffic, and uneven traffic pattern among base stations. It can applied mobile WiMax or other wireless broadband systems in general.
Advanced HEED protocol using distance weight in USN

Recently, Study for routing protocol is gone vigorously in the Ubiquitous Sensor Network. A hierarchical routing protocol is being practical and received interest among them. Therefore we analyze a weak point of HEED. And I suggest the new protocol that solved a weak point of HEED. The new protocol that we propose puts weight in the energy remainder amount than HEED and elect CH. And elected CH is designed to change by new node when quantity of energy leftover becomes less than 50%. Therefore all nodes come to use energy fairly. The protocol that we proposed can prove the cluster survival rate about 30%. And CH is more effective because when elect CH replace, response time selects small node.
Integration of Timestamp Service into Digital Signatures

Digital signatures not only provide a way of guaranteeing the integrity of data but also establish the identity of the signer. However, basic digital signature format which contains only the signature of the signer does not guarantee the correctness of its creation time, and it can not remain valid over long periods. This paper proposes a system which integrates timestamp service into digital signatures. The system provides online services for the creation and verification of long term digital signatures which can give the guarantee of the correctness of their creation times and can be proved to be valid over long periods. The proposed system can be used in the various areas such as e-commerce contracts, document archival services, and invoice applications, which requires long term digital signatures. The proposed system is tested with the KRISS timestamp service system.
Three-Party Key Exchange Protocol Providing User Anonymity based on Smartcards

Three-party authenticated key exchange protocol based on smartcards using XOR and hash function operation instead of the public key operation has been proposed in 2006. Recently, it is doing for research because of increasing interest in privacy. This paper pointed out that proposed three-party authenticated key exchange protocol in 2006 has some problems; it is user anonymity and slow wrong input detection, and then we proposed new one to overcome these problems.
Performance Evaluation on Structure-based Retrievals of XML Documents

In extension to our previous study, we develop metadata that specify elements` structural orders, to increase the efficiency level of XML document`s retrieval process. Then, we proposed a structure-based indexing model. We expect the model to generate a more efficient retrieval process of horizontally and vertically related elements. To evaluate the model`s performance level, we developed an experimental prototype and conducted an experiment on an XML corpus. On average, descendant, ancestor and sibling retrievals were approximately twelve percent faster than the ETID model. And retrievals specifying structural orders of particular element types were approximately twenty-five percent faster than the ETID model. In conclusion, metadata, such as Etype, Asso and Lsso, may make a meaningful contribution to retrieval processes that specify elements` order.
Development of a Simple Rate-Sensitive Model II (Material Parameters and Modification)

This study presents the analysis of the identifications and determinations of the material parameters in the developed model in the former paper and their effects on the stress paths. It was shown that the influences of the parameters, specially involved in the strain rate and the viscous nucleus, were in generally acceptable range. From this point, the model was modified by identifying the plastic yield surface and the viscous yield surface in the same mathematical form. The modified model was successful in simulating stress path.

When raw silk fibers were treated with wetting agent but without subsequent washing before sericin fixation, the strong sericin fixation was obtained by fixing sericin. Adding hydrogen peroxide to the melamine and formalin mixture made sericin fixation worse, resulting weaken the sericin hardness of fixed raw silk fibers and tight bonding of the fibers. On the other hand, it was confirmed that adding sodium hydrosulfite to the melamine and formalin mixtures gave better sericin hardness of fixed raw silk fibers without the bonding of fibers. Optimal Analytical Conditions for Panax Ginseng Ginsenosides using HPLC and Ginsenosides Content Analysis of Red Ginseng Products and their Raw Materials

The analytical conditions of ginsenosides were optimized using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The optimal analysis conditions were set up from the experiments using different gradient conditions, and the ginsenosides contents of red ginseng products and their raw materials were analysed. Red ginseng contained 0.29% Rg1, 0.82% Rb1, 0.38% Rc, 0.32% Rb2, 0.11% Rd, showing the highest ginsenoside contents. Among the red ginseng products, red ginseng extract showed the highest content. The ginsenoside contents were varied according to the raw material type and product type. Re and Rb1 contents were the highest in most raw materials and products.
The Effects of Health Education on Treatment Compliance of Patients with High Blood Pressure and Diabetes in Private Clinics

To provide fundamental educational materials for the effective management of patients with high blood pressure and diabetes in korea, and to expand the scope of such educational businesses the survey was administered between September 2007 and February 2008 to 1,213 consenting patients suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes in private medical centers within Daejeon in Korea. The patients were provided with standardized education materials and were monitored whether they were conducting a controlled management of their blood pressure and diabetes level as well as monitoring changes in their daily routine. Out of the 1,213 patients, 51.3% of the patients suffered only from high blood pressure, 26.3% suffered only from diabetes and 22.4% suffered from both high blood pressure and diabetes (Condor difference was not considered in this research). Physical education was the most commonly used education upon visitation to these medical centers, which was then followed by eating habits and weight management, respectively. The education demanded and preferred from the patients was similar to the education provided during the visitations. 56.7% of the medical doctors responded that the majority of the patients were passive in controlling and managing their illnesses. 63.7% of the participants believed that the education provided through this research was effective.

This paper has investigated disease structure and pattern against 9,955 (34.6%) elderly patients aged 60 or older at `K` University Hospital from January 1 to December 31, 2007 through canonical correlation analysis. According to this investigation, the variable with the biggest correlation coefficient has been whether or not surgery has been performed. Since the aged are weaker than the young physically and mentally in general, a surgical operation has been considered. I hope that the result of this paper would be used as basic data for establishment of systematic geriatric health program and disease statistics.
Neutropenia & Nutritional status during Chemotherapeutic cycle in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

This study aims to investigate chemotherapy-induced neutropenia, nutritional status and both relation of patients with acute myeloid leukemia during 1st consolidation chemotherapy and the therapy-related cytopenic phase in order to determine more effective nutritional support. We review medical records of total 54 cases received first consolidation chemotherapy on P hospital in Busan. The duration of neutropenia(Absolute Neutrophil Count<
) is mean 14.78 days, neutropenia occur on mean 10th(9.54) day of chemotherapy(D10). The nutritional parameters of total protein, body weight, BMI showed no significant interval change during chemotherapeutic cycle except albumin, cholesterol. The neutropenia wasn`t dependent on general factor of gender, age, comorbidities, Body Surface Area(BSA). The correlation wasn`t revealed between neutropenia and nutritional status. In conclusion, although nutritional status didn`t affect neutropenia, this study provides detailed information on the neutropenic response of acute myeloid leukemia patients during induction chemotherapy.

This study investigates to information medium and small enterprises and analyzed how enterprise`s integration information system affects to business users. Many medium and small enterprises are introducing and operate new integrated system for latest several years, but it is suffering difficulty in substantial business analysis as unstable system, maintenance and insufficiency of management controls. Therefore, in this study, tried to analyze common problem and solution to enterprise which is operating integration information system stably. First, If system usefulness, information usefulness, information creation level, service usefulness are high, Analysis result about user business performance appeared very positive effect. Second, Analyzed to which lack a little user realization about information level in details measured variable. This study will be able to become data that is useful in stable system introduction in various field of industry of medium and small enterprises hereafter.
Research on Functional Use nnd Demands for Cellular Phone in The Aged

The present study focused on the status of functional use and demands for cellular phone in the aged. Through a survey of 206 aged people, we asked the present use of UI(User Interface) and problems in use of functions of cellular phone. The survey consist of questions about use of internet and mobil products, receptiveness of various mobil contents and machines, and marketable evaluation. The results showed that great part of elder people used only cellular phone as telephone. However, it appeared that relatively younger people in the participants In survey used more and more various functions of cellular phone such as digital camera. Moreover, according to the situations of health, economy, culture of participants, they demanded more various functions and UI in cellular phone.
