Computational Study on the Energy Separation of the Vortex Tube for CO

Vortex tube is the device that can separate small particles from the compressed gas, as well as compressed gas into hot and cold flow. In this study, computational approach has been performed to analyze the characteristics of the vortex tube. Energy separation characteristics of the vortex tube has been tested for various geometric design parameters. For the given conditions, it is found that as the tube is lengthened, hot end temperature is reduced but cold end temperature does not influenced much. As the orifice diameter decreases, cold end temperature decreases. Also, as hot gas fraction increases, hot end temperature decreases. The urethane based on prototype mold is very useful for making prototype. Especially, the method of stereolithography mold was turned out to be rapid and accurate 3-dimensional modeling data. Urethane resin (TSR-755) has heat resistant and is good for make hundreds of prototypes. In this study, we compared with various designed cooling channel and analyzed of cooling effect and deformation using commercial code Simpoe-Mold for injection mold. As a result, efficiently arranged cooling channel could make 19% of shrinkage to reduce and 46% cooling time to reduce.
Psychosocial Distress and Fatigue Symptoms Among Firemen; and Its Related Factors

The levels of psychosocial stresses and fatigue of firemen were analyzed to reveal the various factors related to them. The self-administered questionnaires were performed to 262 firemen ill Cheonsju City. In terms of various levels of psychosocial stresses, 12.2% were under potential stresses, 87.8% were under high-level of stress, but healthy group was not found. The levels of fatigue symptoms divided by the median of total scores was 51.1% of low levels, and 48.9% of high levels. Multiple stepwise analysis revealed that the factors or influence on psychosocial stresses with explanatory powers of 11.5% included subjective health status, job satisfaction, job demand and alcohol drinking habits. The factors of influence on fatigue symptoms with explanatory powers of 9.0% included subjective health and regular exercises. The study results indicate that the level of stress or fatigue is so complicatedly influenced by variable factors. Thus the effective strategy for stress and fatigue reduction among firemen should include additional programs focusing on health promotion.

Human Motion Recognition using Fuzzy Inference System

The technology of distinguishing human motion states is required in the areas of measuring and analyzing biosignals changing according to physical activities, diagnosing sleep disorder, screening the effect of treatment, examining chronic patients` kinetic state, prescribing exercise therapy, etc. The present study implemented a fuzzy inference system based on fuzzy rules that distinguish human motion states (tying, sitting, walking, and running) by acquiring and processing data of LAA, TAA, L-MAD, and T-MAD using ADXL202AE of Analog Devices embedded in an armband. The membership degree and fuzzy rules in each area of input (LAA, TAA, L-MAD, and T-MAD) and output (tying, sitting, walking, and running) data used here were determined using numeric data obtained from experiment. In the results of analyzing data for simulation generated in order of tying
tying, the sorting rate for motion states tying, sitting, walking, and running was 100% for each motion.
A Study on Health Promoting Lifestyle and its Affecting Factors of General Hospital Worker

This study intends to examine general hospital workers` health promoting lifestyle practice and figure out related factors to it. To achieve that, it conducted a survey with an unsigned self-reported questionnaire to the subject of 580 workers at hospitals located in Daejeon. The degree of practice in the subjects` health promoting lifestyle, the average of the entire questions was 2.26 points and the average of sub-sections was as in the following: 2.62 for interpersonal relations, 2.58 for spiritual growth, 2.26 for nutrition, 2.16 for stress management, 2.00 for health responsibility and 1.89 for physical activity Thus, the section of interpersonal relations showed the highest practice rate, whereas the section of physical activity demonstrated the lowest one. According to the multivariate regression analysis by phase, main factors affecting their health promoting lifestyle practice were selected as stress, attendance in education on health promotion, subjective heath condition, and age. The above results imply that general hospital workers` health promoting lifestyle practice is not sufficient and various factors are involved in it. Accordingly, it is considered that in order to enhance general hospital workers` attention to health promoting lifestyle practice, it is necessary to develop health promoting strategies and programs.
Motion Adaptive Lossless Image Compression Algorithm

In this paper, an efficient lossless compression algorithm using motion adaptation is proposed. It is divided into two parts: a motion adaptation based nonlinear predictor part and a residual data coding part. The proposed nonlinear predictor can reduce prediction error by learning from its past prediction errors using motion adaption. The predictor decides the proper selection of the intra and inter prediction values according to the past prediction error. The reduced error is coded by existing context adaptive coding method. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has the higher compression ratio than context modeling methods, such as FELICS, CALIC, and JPEG-LS.
Development of induction heating superheater system using new heat exchanging method

Two step serial load induction superheater has been proposed using resonance type induction heat method in this paper. Heat method is a type of flowing the electron induction and current to special alloy heater in body from external heat coil with non-contact method. Inverter was a full bridge serial load resonance type and inductor was used as load in LC resonance design to maximize the efficiency. The developed system is a new heat exchanging method combined with electromagnetic induction heater and fluid movement, ana very accurate to control of heating the gas, liquid and evaporated mass, so on without combustion process.

In this paper, the MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) channel characteristics for Rx antenna spacing are described in the real environment, which has LOS(Ling of Sight) and NLOS (Won-Line of Sight). We developed
MIMO channel measurement system at 2.3GHz Wibro Band. MIMO antenna evaluation parameters such as received power, channel capacity and spatial correlation are evaluated for standard dipole antenna with 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 wavelength spacing at 2-position for LOS and 4-position for NLOS. The spatial correlation is distributed more than 0.9 in most LOS case which might be intricate to operate MIMO communication. MIMO antenna design need to be focused on getting spatial diversity and reducing spatial correlation in LOS case.
Implementation of Data Protocol Conversion System for High-end CMOS Image Sensors Equipped with SMIA CCP2 Serial Interface

Recently the high-end CMOS image sensors are developed, conforming to the SMIA CCP2 specification, which is a high-speed low-power serial interface based on LVDS technology. But this kind of technology trend makes the existing equipments are no longer useful, although their capability is still good enough to handle the recent image sensors if there was no interfacing problem. In this paper, we propose and realize a data protocol conversion system that translates the SMIA CCP2 serial signals into the existing 10-bit parallel signals. The proposed system is composed of a de-serializer and a FPCA chip, and thus can be constructed on a small PCB which enables easy integration between the existing equipments and the new high-end image sensors. Besides, the maximum transfer rate by the SMIA specification is also achieved on the implemented system. So it is expected that the implemented system can be used as a general-purpose protocol converter in a variety of sensor-related application fields.

This is can accomplish convenience of use and encipherment of fundamental personal information. Also, this system has advantage to fast communication speed because that has little size packets. Planed system does and fit this in shopping to graft together mobile-phone that the such MVLS and most of internal adult are possessing. A Study on the Factors for Adopting Human Resources Management System and the Results of Organizations in the Service Industry

In the situation where the uncertainty of the environment of organizations is high and dynamic, the competitive advantage should be secured and maintained through securing knowledge-based intangible assets rather than tangible assets. human resources management in the service industry is more important than in any other industries. Accordingly, based on preceding researches, this study examines the adoption factors and the results of organizations with regard to the e-HRM system as IT-based information system. The proof results are summarized as follows. First, the degree of IS maturity in the information technology factors was found to have effects on the business results of organizations (financial and non-financial results) and the IS/IT based structure was found to have significant effects on financial results (productivity, growth potential) but no effects on non-financial results (revitalization of organizations, the degree of total satisfaction). Second, the degree of competition, the degree of information technology and environmental uncertainty factors in environmental factors were found to have effects on financial results (productivity, growth potential) but no effects on non-financial results (the revitalization of organizations, the degree of total satisfaction). Third, it can be seen that the scales of organizations partially play the adjustment role between information technology factors and environmental factors and the business results of organizations. Based on these results, we can cautiously draw the conclusion that it is effective in enhancing financial results (productivity, growth potential) of organizations to adopt the e-HRM system in the case of large scale organizations in the service industry.
A Technic to Improve and Implement Virtual Environment Grid Information in War-game Model

We studied on a technic to improve and implement the virtual environment grid information in the war-game model. The virtual environment data are categorized into ground, sea, and air, and separatedly managed and operated. The data are implemented and managed in the geographical information and topography type information. The geographical information, including grid location coordinate and sea level, are managed in computer files as a grid type. We improved the representation of the sea level by mapping the sea level value of the grid information file into GCV and suggested the dynamic virtual environment implementation technic for the region with the large range of tide. In the experiments, we could know that it is possible to adopt the dynamic virtual environment to the war-game model.
Effective Backup and Real-Time Replication Techniques for HSS System in All-IP Mobile Networks

An HSS(Home Subscriber Server) system requires a main-memory database on main-memory unit for the real-tine management of the subscriber information in the mobile communication service, in that the system controls not only basic data for handling calls of users, but also additional service data related to user authentication and operational data. Nonetheless, HSS-DBS system, requiring the reliability and stability, need more secure data store method and a back-up technique because the system have a long startup time and the big problem on the failures of main-memory. This paper proposes an efficient back-up replication technique, on the basis of enhancing the stability and performance of HSS system. The proposed shadowing back-up technique adopting the delayed recovery process, can help minimize the real-time back-up overloads by location registration, while the proposed backup replication method enables more stable system operations with replicating the data to remote server in real time.
A Study on Formant Variation with Drinking and Nondrinking Condition

This paper present a characteristic of formant variation in order to discriminate between drinking and nondrinking condition. By simulation experiments based on monosyllable, it is shown that the higher formant in F1, F2 and F3 in drinking speech signals compared with nondrinking speech signals. And I knew that the formant is very effective at distinction of drinking condition and nondrinking condition.
Design of NePID using Anomaly Traffic Analysis and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps

The rapid growth of network based IT systems has resulted in continuous research of security issues. Probe intrusion detection is an area of increasing concerns in the internet community. Recently, a number of probe intrusion detection schemes have been proposed based on various technologies. However, the techniques, which have been applied in many systems, are useful only for the existing patterns of probe intrusion. They can not detect new patterns of probe intrusion. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a new Probe Intrusion Detection technology that can find new patterns of probe intrusion. In this paper, we proposed a new network based probe intrusion detector(NePID) using anomaly traffic analysis and fuzzy cognitive maps that can detect intrusion by the denial of services attack detection method utilizing the packet analyses. The probe intrusion detection using fuzzy cognitive maps capture and analyze the packet information to detect syn flooding attack. Using the result of the analysis of decision module, which adopts the fuzzy cognitive maps, the decision module measures the degree of risk of denial of service attack and trains the response module to deal with attacks. For the performance evaluation, the "IDS Evaluation Data Set" created by MIT was used. From the simulation we obtained the max-average true positive rate of 97.094% and the max-average false negative rate of 2.936%. The true positive error rate of the NePID is similar to that of Bernhard`s true positive error rate.
XML-based Retrieval System for E-Learning Contents using mobile device PDA

Web is greatly contributing in providing a variety of information. Especially, as media for the purpose of development and education of human resources, the role of web is important. Furthermore, E-Learning through web plays an important role for each enterprise and an educational institution. Also, above all, fast and various searches are required in order to manage and search a great number of educational contents in web. Therefore, most of present information is composed in HTML, so there are lots of restrictions. As a solution to such restriction, XML a standard of Web document, and its various search functions is being extended and studied variously. Moreover, any technology, AJAX, and the old and new technology has two sides. The technology already exists, and it was not even considered before, because new technology is combined technologies. AJAX is a lot of Web 2.0 and Web technologies complement are combined. This paper proposes a search system able to search XML, AJAX in E-Learning or various contents of non-XML.
The credit card approval information management using WIPI

SMS service is widely used for providing the approval information of a credit card when the payment is made by a credit card. But the message contained in the SMS is very simple and includes one time approval information. Although detailed approval informations could be retrieved by means of wire-network or mobile network services, the wire-network service could not be used on moving and the mobile network service requires high cost. In this paper, a WIPI application program managing the approval informations of a credit card based on the accumulated SMS messages in the cell phone has been developed. A cell phone user can conveniently can get the useful information such as the approval list on last month, the approval list on this month, the total amount on this month and the information about payment by installment from the developed program without any cost.
Performance Analysis of Dualrate Multi-code/ Multi-carrier CDMA System with Interference Canceller

In this thesis, Multi-code/Multi-carrier CDMA(MC/MC CDMA) system which is combination of Multi-code CDMA and Multi-carrier CDMA is analyzed. This system is suitable fur multi-rate services that use multi-codes and high data rate transmission that employ multi-carriers. In addition, the MC/MC CDMA system is robust against frequency selective fading, is good for narrowband interference rejection, and has higher spectral efficiency. In this paper, The users are assigned OVSF codes as a spreading code according to their data rates and divides the active users having different representative code split into a number of groups for effective cancellation. At the receiver, The code grouping interference canceller performs cancellation between the groups. The proposed receiver does not require any information about interference users, such as code, data and amplitude, and has relatively low complexity. The results show the large improvement in performance that can be attained by cancellation scheme.
Inelastic Behavior of Standard School Building according to Hysteresis Models

The inelastic response characteristics of the standard school buildings depending on selection of hysteresis models are reviewed. Three earthquake records of El-centre, Santa-Monica, Taft and three artificial earthquake records in accordance with Korea standard are used and the inelastic response characteristics such as story shear force, story drift ratio, story displacement, hinge distribution state are reviewed with various hysteresis models. As results, story shear force is increased by maximum 60% according to hysteresis model. And Story drift ratio is increased by maximum 42% according to hysteresis model. And The result with clough model shows the maximum hinge distribution state.

This study is to look into the spatial cognition of modern space in the nineteenth century and it is on the purpose of understanding the character of the modem architectural space and of showing the modern architectural space connected with modem society and its everyday life. Especially, fur understanding the spatial cognition of modern space, the Landscape Gardens will be analyzed. The reason for analyzing is that the Landscape Gardens are important theme in the nineteenth century and have great influence on whole European architecture and city. The Landscape Garden produce several modern spaces, that are (1) space of dynamic vision, (2) space of panorama, (3) space of spectacle. These spaces make modem cognition of space and pervade the space of everyday life in the nineteenth century. As a result, the modern spaces and their cognitions are in deep relation to modern society and its everyday life, and unique characters of that spaces are origin of the modem architecture and its space.
Synthesis of P(PEGMA-co-PBMA) microgels by Precipitation Polymerization in Polymer Solution

Poly(ethyleneglycol methacrylate-co-benzyl methacrylate) (P(PEGMA-co-BMA)) microgel was prepared by precipitation copolymerization of PEGMA and benzyl methacrylate in poly(acrylic acid)/ethanol solution. The microgels with various sizes were obtained by changing the concentration of poly(acrylic acid), monomer and nature of solvents. The particle size of P(PECMA-co-BMA) microgels was decreased with increasing the concentration of poly(acrylic acid) and increased with that of monomer. Applicability Evaluation of Two-stages and Dual Media Filtration System by the Small-scale Pilot Plant

This study aimed at developing the two stage and dual filtration system. It has a sand + activated carbon layer above the underdrain system and a sand layer above the middledrain system for pretreatment. When retrofitting an old filter bed or designing a new one, this technology can substitute the existing sand filter bed without requiring a new site. In order to extend the filtering duration, the upper layer of the filter bed consists of the rapid sand filtration with large particles which pre-treats and removes coarse particles and turbidity matters. The middle layer has biological activated carbon(BAC) and granular activated carbon(GAC) to eliminate dissolved organic matters, disinfection by-products precursors etc. The lower layer consists of the sand filtration for the post filtering mode. In this study, a pilot plant of two stage and dual filtration system was operated for 4 months in the S water treatment plant in Kyounggi-Do. The stability of turbidity was maintained below 1NTU. The TOC, THMFP and HAAFP were removed about 90% by two stage and dual filtration system, which is almost 2 times higher than S WTP. From analysis result of HPC along the depth of activated carbon + sand layer at 2nd stage, microorganism was mostly not detected, however, increment of HPC was shown as it becomes deeper. It indicates that growth of microorganism is occurred at activated carbon layer.

A Study on the Timeliness for Performance Evaluation of Government-supported Information Policies

The government has funded various types of projects to promote small and medium companies` computerization for several years. Most of these government-supported funds have been free and given small and medium firms good opportunities. The government has made various effects to manage results of these government-supported projects. We have not seen any noticeable research on the performance evaluation of government-supported projects for small and medium companies` computerization. This research proposes an approach that performance evaluations are made in different time based on evaluation area of government-supported information policy. The empirical study has been made by correlation analysis and has shown that the correlations among measurement factors are significant enough. The performance evaluation for government-supported information policy has been made differently in time depending on evaluation subjects such as organizational strategies, internal operations, supporting processes. Th experimental study shows that performance evaluations on organizational strategies, internal operations, supporting processes should be made respectively in long term(step3), mid term(step2), and short term(step1).
The Effects of Auditor Turnover Ratio on the Quality of Earnings

Since 1982, the auditee have selected the auditor under market mechanism. Under the system on which the auditor have been chosen by client, there have been chances for opinion shopping, etc. To prevent those, some audit regulations have been introduced. Prior studies have documented the positive effect of these audit regulations. Those studies, however, had some limitations which they dealt with just short event period for empirical tests. This study examines the effect of Auditor Turnover Ratio on the Quality of Earnings using a sample of firms that were listed on Korea Exchange(KRX) from 1995 to 2004. The firms that change auditor frequently are expected to have low disclosure quality. The CEO with the incentives to manage or manipulate earnings could accomplish this purpose by replacing existing auditor with more friendly auditor, which could result in eventually lowering earning`s quality of the firm. The result of empirical test shows that the accrual quality of firms which have high auditor turnover ratio are significantly lower than those of firms which have low ratio. This result is consistent with our hypothesis that the more frequently a firm changes auditor, the lower the quality of earning is. This evidence might give the implication to policy-making supervisor.

Recently many companies has implied the measurement system to measure the organizational and personal performance. For that purpose the measurement system based on Balanced Scorecard(BSC) is broadly implemented. For the successful and effective measurement of performance measurement the design of measurement methodology and indicators should be carried out by experts in this field, and "the objectivity" should be kept in the whole process. But due to the financial difficulties many of the companies have relied on the standard (performance measurement) software, which is avaliable in the market. In this paper the performance measurement. Indicators has been presented for the small and medium sized manufacturing company. As the result of this research the presented performance measurement indicators for administration, operation and R&D part are statistically verified as it is effective.
Development of a Business Model of the Robot Industry in the Convergence Age

This paper presents a business models of the robot industry for copying with aging society that facilitates to create new business opportunities in the convergence age. In order to identify the market drivers for both convergence and aging society, the trends of them analyzed. Through constructing and analyzing market value chain, we design a set of the business model of the robot industry focused on u-health robots of a convergence service type integrated ubiquitous, health and robot. In addition, we describe the evolution path of the proposed business model in terms of technology development and market. Finally, we develop a matrix based evaluation framework to measure and assess the effectiveness of the business model.
The Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) of the Tourism Products as a Means of Railway Transportation

In this research, railway transportation by means of the characteristics of tourism in the selection of railroad tourism and to clarify the difference in IPA is a primary purpose of this research. In addition, the train travel experience would like to clarify the difference in the importance and performance. This research fellows the indication points. First, by means of transportation to select train tourism product is the difference in the importance and performance in the 25 items. Second, the urgent needs to improve part `Concentrate Here` side of the train, the temperature of the reasonable air-conditioning, and the appropriate means of transport links to the information service has been identified.`Low Priority` side of the entry tourist train operation of the frequency and interval, a total of 26 items, including the efforts of more than the current level of commitment was expected to be unnecessary. Third, according to the experience of sightseeing train railway transportation as a means to help train tourism product selection was the difference in the importance and performance.
