The purpose of this study is to investigate how the ignition spark timing conversion influences the engine performance of LPG/Gasoline Bi-Fuel engine. We propose the control system which can advance the ignition spark timing in LPG fuel mode more than used in gasoline fuel mode. This paper introduces a simulation model regarding the process analysis of a digital doorlock mixed assembly process. The objective of the simulation model is to evaluate the performance of various design aspects of process alternatives. To develop the simulation model, a time study is performed for each process. Next, by using ARENA, a simulation model is conducted based on the process analysis and the line balancing methodology. We found out several problems for mixed assembly process, and then suggest several alternatives to improve the system.

The behavior of bubbles in a centrifugal fluidized bed with a 340mm inner diameter, 195mm high was observed by photographs using 10.5
mean diameter of
particles as bed materials at each of 400rpm, 600rpm, 800rpm, and 1000rpm number of rotations of the rotor. At these experimental ranges, the experimental results clearly proved the effect of number of rotations of the rotor on the behavior of bubbles in the centrifugal fluidized bed. As the number of rotations of the rotor increased, the gas velocity at which bubbles begin to be formed also increased but diameter of bubbles decreased. And sizes of the bubbles were relatively small.

This study is to apply the mechanical press joining method to join two kinds of sheet metals with circular holes by mechanical pressing instead of laser beam. Usage of the mechanical pressing avoids the thermal deformation of sheet metals which occurs inevitably in laser joining. A die design has been proposed to make the mechanical press joining applicable with finite element analysis. Five design factors related to the joining force have been selected and applied to the Taguchi method for optimization. Among five factors, `Forming Depth` and `Punch Corner Radius` have been revealed to be the most influential ones.
A Study on Development of Large-capacity Aluminum Heat Sinks Brazed with a Batch Furnace

Recently demand for large-capacity aluminum heat sinks has been increased as market for high power electricity expands and high-performance electronic products develop. While the brazed heat sinks are in particular preferred, it is almost impossible to manufacture them with an atmospheric continuous furnace due to insufficient heating rate and various thickness of the parent metals. Therefore, a new index batch furnace is developed and the process variables are optimized. Then, brazing efficiency and tensile stress are obtained for brazed parts of the heat sinks. Finally experiment as well as numerical analysis has been performed to compare thermal efficiency of the brazed heat sinks with that of the silicone-bonded heat sinks.

The effect of heat loss rate on NOx formation of
premixed flame were examined numerically in a perfectly stirred reactor. The following conclusions were drawn. Under the adiabatic wall condition, an increase in the residence time causes a remarkable increases in NOx emission. Under the heat loss conditions, however, NOx decreases significantly as the heat transfer coefficient and residence time increase. As the heat loss rate increases, Thermal NO mechanism and Re-burning NO mechanism play an important role in the NOx reduction, but Prompt NO mechanism and
-intermediate NO mechanism lead to the increase in NOx production. Although the NOx formation is actually related to complex NOx mechanism with the changes in the heat transfer coefficient and residence time, it was found that NOx concentration can be represented by independent Thermal NO mechanism. A Study on the Profile Design of Sweeping Auger for the Combined Grain Drying and Storage System

This study have been carried out as a part of R&D project to develop a low cost high efficiency combined grain drying & storage system. The design of sweeping auger must meet the various conditions : capacity and dimensions of silo, discharging capacity of auger, operation conditions of auger such as revolution and rotation and density of grains and even the first-in & first-out of grains in the system. Through the experimental observations with the apparatus which enables the direct observation of discharging behavior of grains, the limitations of the performance of existing straight type auger was observed. Generalized mathematical model for the profile of new variable section sweeping auger was obtained, which ensures the uniform descending of grains and also meets various operating conditions. The experimental results with a prototype sweeping auger showed that the mathematical model for the variable section sweeping auger was quitely correct.
HW/SW co-design of H.264/AVC Decoder using ARM-Excalibur

In this paper, the hardware(HW) and software(SW) co-design methodology of H.264/AVC decoder using ARM-Excalibur is proposed. The SoC consists of embedded processor, memory, peripheral device and logic circuits. Recently, the co-design method which designs simultaneously HW and SW part is a new paradigm in SoC design. Because the optimization for partitioning the SoC system is very difficult, the verification must be performed earlier in design flow. We designed the H.264 and AVC Decoder using co-design method. It is shown that, for the proposed co-design method, the performance improvements can be obtained.

The Characteristics of Amorphous-Oxide-Semiconductor Thin-Film-Transistors According to the Active-Layer Structure

Amorphous indium-gallium-zinc-oxide thin-film-transistors (TFTs) were modeled successfully. Dependence of TFT characteristics on structure, thickness, and equilibrium electron-density of the active layer was studied. For mono-active-layer TFTs, a thinner active layer had higher field-effect mobility. Threshold voltage showed the smallest absolute value for the 20 nm active-layer. Subthreshold swing showed almost no dependence on active-layer thickness. For the double-active-layer case, better switching performances were obtained for TFTs with bottom active layers with higher equilibrium electron density. TFTs with thinner active layers had higher mobility. Threshold voltage shifted in the minus direction as a function of the increase in the thickness of the layer with higher equilibrium electron-density. Subthreshold swing showed almost no dependence on active-layer structure. These data will be useful in optimizing the structure, the thickness, and the doping ratio of the active layers of oxide-semiconductor TFTs.
Hardware Architecture of Automatic Exposure Algorithm for CMOS Image Sensor

AE(Auto exposure) is a function to maintain the exposure value of a captured image constant, and is one of the crucial functionalities of a CIS-based mobile camera. Generally AE is implemented in software, requiring a CPU and a ROM to store the corresponding software. This approach increases the hardware size at the cost of increased flexibility. In this paper, we propose an AE algorithm featuring variable frame-rate and adaptive analog gain control, as well as a FSM-based hardware architecture for a CIS-based mobile camera.

This study applied image processing techniques, constructed to real-time, to thermal infrared camera image. Thermal infrared image data was utilized for hot mapping, cool mapping, and rainbow mapping according to changing temperature. It was histogram image processing techniques so that detected shade contrast function of the thermal infrared image, and the thermal infrared image`s edge was extracted to classification of object. Moreover, extraction of temperature from image was measured by using the image information program.
Analysis of a Semicircle Antenna by Tilt Angles for Wideband Applications

A semicircle antenna is presented for wideband communication system. The proposed antenna radiates linear polarized wave omnidirectionally in wide frequency band from 1.5 GHz to more than 5 GHz (110%). The frequency bands of the proposed antenna are investigated from the variable current path lengths by tilting angles. The overall radiation gain of the proposed antenna is 2-3 dBi.
Light Extraction Improvement of 400 nm Wavelength GaN-Based Light-Emitting Diode by Textured Structures

We fabricated the GaNLED emitting 400 nm wavelength and improved the optical extraction efficiency by making surface patterns on n-GaN layer and ITO layer above p-GaN. In addition, the light reflection metal under the n and p pad is made and the light reflection metal is installed on the backside of the chip. The light extraction efficiency is increased by 20 % with texturing n-GaN layer and 18% with texturing ITO layer at 20 mA. Compared to planar-surface LED, the light extraction efficiency for surface texturing both n-GaN and ITO is increased by 32% at 20mA.
Design of the Crane position control System using GPS and USN

In this paper, we study and simulate the suggested position control system using GPS and USN to replace the existing control system of a crane. For the correct approach, the position control system of a crane is divided into the control system of the ground station and the mobile station The hardware is comprised of GPS receiving module to receive the position control data of a crane from GPS satellites, bluetooth communication module for the data communication between the ground station and the mobile station, supersonic sensor module for a precise position control of a crane, motor to replace a crane roller, embedded MCU(ATmega128L) and so on. In here, an embedded MCU controls GPS receiving module, bluetooth communication module and supersonic sensor module. The Software is comprised of three programs. Three programs are the program to filter GGA output part in a receiving data of GPS receiving module, the driving program for supersonic sensor module, the digital map program to monitor a crane location. From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that the proposed system has the capability of crane position control with 1cm precision.
CMOS Low-voltage Filter For RFID Reader Using A Self-biased Transconductor

This paper describes the design of a 5th order Elliptic CMOS Gm-C low-voltage filter for the RFID reader IC. The designed filter is composed of CMOS differential transconductors by parallel gain circuits to improve the gain of the conventional self-biased differential amplifier. The filter is designed to operate in low-voltage 1.8V to meet the specification of the RFID reader filter. The results of HSPICE simulation using 1.8V-0.18
CMOS processing parameter showed that the designed 5th order Elliptic low-pass filter satisfied the cutoff frequency of 1.35MHz given by the design specification.
Design of a K-band CW Radar Transceiver

This paper describes a K-band CW radar transceiver suitable for power saving motion sensor. The presented transceiver module is designed and contains patch antennas, dielectric resonator oscillator (DRO), IF amplifier, mixer, divider. The designed divider and antenna are measured and the transmitting frequency and the power were fairly good for using in commercial applications. The transceiver is manufactured with a dimension of 35
10(mm) and can be adapted in various applications.

In this paper, we present a novel pulse train identification method for two step stagger pulse train. Generally radar uses a fixed pulse train, and it is easy for electronic warfare system to measure the pulse repeat interval(PRI) and identify the radar. But it is very difficult to measure the PRI of stagger pulse radar because the pulse interval is periodically changed. We suggest a novel method to measure the PRI and identify the radars using the second deviation of pulse train. This method is faster comparing with Histogram method. We have a good PRI measurement results for 2 step stagger signals.
Design of Miniaturized Wilkinson Power Divider Using Substrate Integrated Artificial Dielectric

This paper describes a size-reduced Wilkinson power divider using substrate integrated artificial dielectric(SIAD). SIAD transmission lines have increased effective refractive index, so the line width and length are reduced from those of standard transmission lines. Therefore the "size-reduction effect" is achieved if SIAD lines are applied to high frequency circuits. An efficient simulation method is proposed for SIAD lines which have an enormous number of via-holes. A 2GHz Wilkinson power divider is designed and measured using SIAD transmission line as an example of application. The size of the fabricated divider is reduced by 32% due to the increased effective refractive index of SIAD, while the performances are maintained similarly.
Minimizing Energy Consumption of Sensor Networks with Energy Balance Ratio and Relay Node Placement

The Relay node placement problem is one of the most important requirements for many wireless sensor networks because the lifetime of sensor networks is closely related with the placement of relay nodes which receive sensed data from sensor nodes and forward them to the base station. Relay node placement problem has focused at minimization of dissipated total energy of the sensor nodes in whole networks. However, minimum total energy causes the unbalance of consumed energy in sensor nodes due to different distances between relay nodes and sensor nodes. This paper proposes the concept of energy balance ratio and finds the locations of relay nodes using objective functions which maximize the energy balance ratio. Maximizing this ratio results in maximizing the network lifetime by minimizing the energy consumption of large-scale sensor networks. However, finding a solution to relay node placement problem is NP-hard and it is very difficult to get exact solutions. Therefore, we get approximate solutions to EBR-RNP problem which considers both energy balance ratio and relay node placement using constraint programming.
Using Optical Flow and HoG for Nighttime PDS

The death rate of pedestrian in car accidents in Korea is 2.5 times higher than the average of OECD countries`. If a system that can detect pedestrians and send alarm to drivers is built and reduces the rate, it is worth developing such a pedestrian detection system (PDS). Since the accident rate in which pedestrians are involved is higher at nighttime than in daytime, the adoption of nighttime PDS is being standardized by big auto companies. However, they are usually using night visions or multiple sensors, which are usually expensive. In this paper we suggest a method for nighttime PDS using single wide dynamic range (WDR) monochrome camera in visible spectrum band. In our experiments, pedestrians were accurately detected if only most edges of pedestrians could be obtained.
Design of Scenario-based Requirements Extraction Tool

One of the most difficult problems in user requirement engineering is the communication gap that exists between different end-users, stakeholders, and software engineers. Since scenarios allow different stakeholders to describe and review the problem in their own language instead of some abstract model, they are also a solution to the problem. We propose a progressive, iterative and interleaved process of using scenario at different requirement engineering stages including elicitation, analysis and validation. This process model has been applied to our TRES System. In our proposed system, we combine prototype, scenarios and use cases in a single and comprehensive framework to avoid most of the shortcomings in other tools. Our system is an XML-based system for scenario-driven requirement engineering. Within the TRES system, scenarios are stories capture information about users and their tasks, including the context of use. In our TRES system, scenarios are stored in XML-based database and described using XML notation.

On Developing a Semantic Annotation Tool for Managing Metadata of Web Documents based on XMP and Ontology

The goal of Semantic Web is to provide efficient and effective semantic search and web services based on the machine-processable semantic information of web resources. Therefore, the process of creating and adding computer-understandable metadata for a variety of web contents, namely, semantic annotation is one of the fundamental technologies for the semantic web. Recently, in order to manage annotation metadata, direct approach for embedding metadata into the document is mainly used in semantic annotation. However, many semantic annotation tools for web documents have been mainly worked with HTML documents, and most of these tools do not support semantic search functionalities using the metadata. In this paper, based on these problems and previous works, we propose the Ontology-based Semantic Annotation tool(OSA) to efficiently support semantic annotation for web documents(such as HTML, PDF). We define a semantic annotation model that represents ontological-semantic information by using RDFS(RDF Schema). Based on XMP(eXtensible Metadata Platform) standard, the model is encoded directly into the document. By using OSA with XMP, user can perform semantic annotation on web documents which are able to keep compatibility for managing annotation metadata. Eventually, the integrated semantic annotation metadata can be used effectively in semantic search for a variety of web contents.
Bandwidth-Efficient Multi-Code Modulation Scheme

As a general rule, the orthogonal modulation scheme which is widely used for wireless communications is not appropriate for the high speed data transmission applications due to the low bandwidth efficiency. Therefore, to increase the bandwidth efficiency of the conventional orthogonal modulation, we propose the multi-code trans-(bi-)orthogonal modulation in this paper. It is the combined scheme of multi-code modulation and trans-orthogonal modulation. We can know that the bandwidth efficiency of the proposed scheme is better than that of the conventional orthogonal modulation. Additionally, the receiver complexity of the proposed scheme is lower than that of the conventional orthogonal modulation. The proposed scheme can be used for the physical layer of the high speed wireless digital data transmission applications such as multimedia communications system and high speed personal area networks.

In this paper we present a plan which improve the capabilities of embedded system only act as a gateway by installing embedded database in an embedded system for the sensing data management that was transmitted by radio from sensor nodes. In other words, by installing an embedded database to store and manage data by sensing data can be reduced the transmission frequency to communicate with a host and by performing the filtering program in embedded system and then by transmitting only valid data to the host can be increase the reliability of the analysis results based on data collected.

The overlay multicast that has been recently presented as an alternative for the IP multicast has been getting much persuasion by the system resource and the network bandwidth and the advancement of the network cost. we propose a overlay multi_casting network policy for efficient multimedia services with P2P join scheduling. In order to evaluate the performance of proposed scheme, We test the performance of multi_casting nodes with average join count, the maximum guaranteed waiting time and buffer starvation ratio with similar techniques. The result of simulation shows improved about 15
20% of performance.

There is a lot of recent research to provide services of dynamic distributed contents in P2P-based distributed environment. Distributed services of contents objects, however, have problems in QoS and dynamic management of segments. This paper proposed a new segment management method for the service of P2P-based distributed contents. The proposed method manages groups by the SGM(Segment Group Manager). The SGM manages streaming efficiently by the grouping of segments to be served in P2P environment. The segments in the same group cooperate for improved QoS using the management structure based on the distance and relationship. The distance-based management structure is for the improvement of retrieval efficiency while the relationship-based management structure is for the improvement of service ratio. The simulation results of the proposed method showed improvements in average transmission efficiency and average service rate. The improvement is 8% - 30% in average transmission efficiency and 10% - 30% in average service rate.

Compositional design and optimization of processing parameters are key factors for controlling and improving the properties of SiC-based electroconductive ceramic composites. Temperature rising time of sheath heater is 1.1 times faster than SiC ceramic heater. Heating insulation of SiC ceramic heater is 2.7 times larger than sheath heater. If SiC ceramic heater is one body type of a product application, contact resistance will decrease. I think that temperature initial rising time is faster than now. The more SiC ceramic heater is used for a long time, the more economic benefit is larger in the view point of heat insulation.

In this study, we have prepared plastic lenses with both photochromic and hard properties by hard coating, and evaluated their optical properties and surface characteristics. Photochromic effects could be observed on the UV spectra of the closed forms and the visible spectra of the open forms. Visible light transmittance of photochromic lenses was from 83.44% for graphite(GP) to 85.15% for blue(BL) in colourless state and from 71.10% for red(RE) to 79.98% for yellow(YE) in colour state. Red photochromic lens was higher in optical density(
OD) and color difference(
) than the others. Photochromic lenses applied by hard coating showed good adhesion, hot water resistance, chemical resistance and surface appearance. Also, compared to the uncoated lens, hardness and abrasion resistance were increased. Consequently, this coating system could impart functional properties such as photochromic and hard coating property onto ophthalmic lenses.

Changes in aerosol characteristics during 2006
2008 Asian dust events in Cheoan were investigated by measuring mass, ion and elemental concentrations of fine and coarse particles. The average mass concentrations of daily TSP, PM10, PM2.5 were 214.9, 160.3, and 95.9
during Asian dust events, which were 3.08, 2.58, and 1.95 times higher than Non-asian dust events. The maximum concentrations of TSP, PM10, and PM2.5 were 850.1, 534.4, and 233.3
, which were 12.19, 8.60, and 4.76 times higher, respectively. Increases in ion concentrations were not significant during Asian dust events, but elemental concentrations including soil components such as Fe, Al, Ti increased by 17.1 and 43.4 times for fine and coarse particles, respectively. The results clearly indicate that metallic components from soil constituents were the major components in Asian dusts sampled at Cheonan.

Two different cutting-oils from H and B companies which are sold as an eco-friendly cutting-oils were selected and the biodegradability of these commercially available cutting-oils was evaluated by the sequencing batch reactor (SBR) processes. The cutting-oil wastes (
) pre-treated by coagulation/flocculation was used as an influent to SBR. When the F/M ratio was operated 0.04 to 0.08kgCOD/kgMLSS d, removals of

Post-cure characteristics of a silicone rubber material which is widely used for a LCD lamp holder were investigated using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Research was especially focussed on searching for the optimum post-cure conditions in relation to the practical operation environments. The results showed that incipient volatile temperature(Ti) during the process was considered as the most important factor and, thereby, post-curing for 2hrs at
seemed to be a reasonable condition in the practical view-point. Arrhenius plot of shift factors which were empirically determined from the time-temperature-superposition-principle showed good linearity, exhibiting the post-cure mechanism might be proceeded through single mechanism with activation energy of 108.25kJ/mol.
Investigations of Soil Classification Methods using Cone Test Results

In this study, the method by Robertson which has been most commonly used for classifying soils, using piezocone test results, was compared with that by Schneider which was most recently proposed. Both methods were applied to the soils in Gyeonggi province and the classifying results were investigated. It has been found that the difference between the results according to the methods was not so large and Schneider`s method showed slightly better results for clay region and vice versa. Such factors as large field database, normalized tip resistance, pore water pressure, and drain condition were found to need further research for more reliable soil classification.

This study was to examine the effectiveness of prefrontal Neurofeedback training by observing the pre and post brainwave measurement results of about Y kindergarten kids 50 (experimental group 25.comparative group 25) subjects who have shown corelation, in between the months of Mar. 2008 and Nov. 2008. As the brainwaves are adjusted by timeseries linear analysis, the result confirmed the differences of both corelation. The result of the study suggest Neurofeedback technique`s possibility in positively affecting the subjects` corelation and mental state.
The Role of Antibody in Korean Word Recognition: Using the Priming Task

The priming task was used in order to provide an experimental evidence on whether the processing unit of Korean syllable is antibody or not. Four types of experimental conditions were made: antibody overlap condition (e.g., sumjil -> sungjik), rime overlap condition (e.g.,: hungchik -> sungjik), onset and coda overlap condition (e.g.,: saengjeok -> sungjik), and no overlap condition (e.g.,: chanmeol -> sungjik). In addition, we manipulated the letter type by

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of linguistic activity on young children`s Creativity by applying an linguistic activity, one of the major realm of Project Spectrum, to experimental group. The following research task was established for this study. What effect does the linguistic activity through Project Spectrum on children`s Creativity? The participants of this study were 80 of 5-year-old young children in two groups. They were divided and assigned into two groups, an experimental group(26 boys and 14 girls) and a control group(22 boys and 18 girls). While the experimental group was engaged in the Project Spectrums linguistic activities for 15 weeks, the control group was engaged in kindergarten curriculum linguistic activities. It was revealed that Creativity through Project Spectrum of experimental group had much influence on children`s linguistic ability than control group in every field (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) by developing and applying detailed criteria for Creativity for this study.

In this paper we analyzed the management performance as the result of the korean government`s support policy for the small and medium sized business (SMB). The governmental support policy was carried out for the companies classified in 3 criterion. The first is the upbringing of dynamic SMB group, which are driven by creativity and innovation. The second is the enforcement of technology-innovation and cooperation for SMB. The last is the establishment of the growth basis for SMB like funds, human resources and distribution channels. After categorization of above 3 classes, the affect of support policy on the management performance is analyzed, in terms of 3 aspects, management performance, technical performance and policy satisfaction. This study shows that the governmental support policy has the remarkable effects on the financial support sector of SMB. The 5 major sectors, 1) the upbinging of venture-innobiz innovation company, 2) rearing funds of knowledge-based service company, 3) R&D support, 4) support of management stability fund, 5) expansion of distribution channel to the public sector, are designed from 24 variables. The 3 sectors of these 5 are have the main influences from governmental support policy.

In this paper, we propose a problem space based search(PSBS) algorithm to solve parallel machine scheduling problem considering rework probabilities. For each pair of a machine and a job type, rework probability of each job on a machine can be known through historical data acquisition. Neighborhoods are generated by perturbing four problem data vectors (processing times, due dates, setup times, and rework probabilities) and evaluated through the efficient dispatching heuristic (EDDR). The proposed algorithm is measured by maximum lateness and the number of reworked jobs. We show that the PSBS algorithm is considerably improved from the result obtained by EDDR.

This paper is aimed at studying the sexuality elements and their perceptibility in the sports photographs and images of internet portal media. The sexuality elements are composed of athletes` uniform, body and external feature. In an analysis of sports` users through portal media, there were some differences in an experimental group of men. There was the difference between an experimental group of men and a of men and women sports game. The perceptibility of sexuality imaged by sports images of men and women games in portal media was higher in an of men and women sports game than the experimental group of men. Accordingly, the sexuality imaged through sports images of portal media had a higher effect on sports` men-users.
Development on the Process Control System for Full Gate Visual Test of LCD Manufacturing Process

This research developed process control device and FGV pattern generating device essential for full gate visual inspection to improve process so that defect detection capability may be maximized in specified environment. The devices developed in this research, which can be swiftly replaced in case loss or error occurs, are anticipated to improve module yield as well as maintain tact loss near `0`. In addition, as a result of mounting H/W and S/W system to control detailed operation sequence in production line and executing performance check and verification, detection rates were 98.1% and 99.1% respectively for pixel defect by tact and line defect, and yield of the entire module process including gate and visual level test increased up to 98.3%.

About 40 million automotive vehicles all over the world and 0.55 million in Korea were retired from use annually. Every nation is desperate to decrease environmental pollution by ELVs(End of Life Vehicles) and try to tighten the regulations. Europe passed laws requiring OEMs to increase vehicles` recovery and reuse rate to 95% by 2015 from current 84%. The ferrous parts, 75% of total automobile weight, are almost recycled whereas the remaining 25% of the non-metal -predominantly plastics as well as form, glass and rubber- and the non-ferrous materials -copper, nickel and aluminium- end up in landfills. The recycling status of non-ferrous materials represented by copper and nickel is reviewed and how much the recycling rate will be improved is calculated.

In addition, environmental regulations and rising oil prices cause demand for hybrid cars to keep rising. Accordingly, more and more attention is being paid to medium and large batteries and more efforts are being made to realize lower battery prices, higher outputs and stability. This study presented a patent technology related to the lithium ion battery packing that allows reducing processes related, increasing productivity and recycling parts other than the body. The lithium ion battery pack to which protection circuits are elastically attached provides short circuit protection for the circuit and the body and makes electric connection of the circuit and the body easier.

A Study on the Radiation Dose Managements in the Nuclear Medicine Department

After administration of a radiopharmaceutical, the patient remains radioactive for hours or even days, representing a source of potential radiation exposure. Thus, including the personnel who are occupationally exposed to ionizing radiation, radiation exposure must be managed for members of the public, in particular for people accompanying patients. In this study we investigated radiation exposure dose management in the nuclear medicine departments at seven general hospitals. Two of them had no radiation safety considerations for patient transporters, sanitation workers and the like. And they all were careless of radioprotection for people accompanying patients. The average dose rate to people accompanying patients from radioactive patients just before a bone scan was 25.60
Sv h-1. This is higher than 20
which is the annual public dose limit for temporary use. Therefore radiation dose measurement and risk assessment of patient transporters, sanitation workers and the like should be performed. And the nuclear medicine technologist should provide advices on the radiation safety to patient transporters, sanitation workers, people accompanying patients and so on. To ensure the radiation safety for people accompanying patients, it is required to restrict the patient`s access to his relatives, friends and other patients or isolate patients.
Expression of Acid Stress-Induced Proteins of Streptococcus mutans Isolated from Korean Children with Caries

In this study, we are interested in comparing the protein profiles of acid-shocked and control cells of S. mutans isolated from Korean children with caries. The results of 2D gel electrophoresis showed that twelve proteins are up-regulated when the cells were grown under 20 mM lactic acid stress in the exponential phase. Up-proteins under acid stress were estimated a major key of the survival and proliferation of S. mutans in low pH environments. These proteins are estimated generally associated with three biochemical pathways: glycolysis, alternative acid production and branched-chain amino acid biosynthesis.

This study was carried out to examine the main cause of influencing oral health impact profile (OHIP) and self-esteem of patients on orthodontic treatment. Questionnaire was used for research based on 200 patients on orthodontic treatment in four dental clinics specialized orthodontic treatment and located in Daegu. General characteristics, orthodontic treatment characteristics, OHIP, and self-esteem were examined to analyze the cause of influencing OHIP and self-esteem of patients on orthodontic treatment. The results, Influential factors in OHIP, The younger age (P<0.01), showed that healthier oral condition (P<0.001), and treatment done by family encouragement (P<0.05) were the influential factors of OHIP. Influential factors in self esteem showed that male (P<0.05), unmarried (P<0.01), and higher income (P<0.05) were influential factors of self esteem.
