The die technology of a high-efficiency induction motor is an important technology for manufacturing the core (iron core), which is the major part of a high-efficiency induction motor. It is also an essential technology in enhancing national competitiveness. In this study, the core of a high-efficiency induction motor was designed and manufactured as 2 prototype dies: one is for small-size, and the other is for large-size. They are then tested by attaching in press, the result are considered.
The Large Optical Structure Designed by Topology Optimization Methodology

Recently, the development of new structural model in optical mechanical system is required to be started from the conceptual design with low cost, high performance and quality. In this point, a structural-topological shape of system concerned with conceptual design of mechanical structure has a great effect on performance of the system such as the structural rigidities and weight reduction. In this paper, the optimization design methodologies are presented in the design stages of large optical structure. First, using topology optimization, we obtain the optimal layout and the reinforcement of structure, and then carry out the detail designs using size optimization and multidisciplinary optimization technique. As an example, these methods were applied to the design of large mirror structure.
Automatic Mesh Generation System for FE Analysis of 3D Crack

This paper describes an automatic mesh generation system for finite element analysis of three-dimensional cracks. It is consisting of fuzzy knowledge processing, bubble meshing and solid geometry modeler. This novel mesh generation process consists of three sub-processes: (a) definition of geometric model, i.e. analysis model, (b) generation of bubbles, and (c) generation of elements. One of commercial solid modelers is employed for three-dimensional crack structures. Bubble is generated if its distance from existing bubble points is similar to the bubble spacing function at the point. The bubble spacing function is well controlled by the fuzzy knowledge processing. The Delaunay method is introduced as a basic tool for element generation. Practical performances of the present system are demonstrated through several mesh generations for 3D cracks.
Performance analysis for load control of R744(carbon dioxide) transcritical refrigeration system using hot gas by-pass valve

The automatic hot gas by-pass technique is applied to control the capacity of refrigeration and air-conditioning system when operating at part load. In the scheme, the hot gas from the compressor is extracted and injected into the outlet of an evaporator through a hot gas by-pass valve. Thus, In this paper, the hot gas by-pass scheme for CO2 is discussed and analyzed on the basis of mass and energy conservation law. A comparative study of the schemes is performed in terms of the coefficiency of performance (COP) and cooling capacity. The operating parameters considered in this study include compressor efficiency, superheating degree, outlet temperature of gas cooler and evaporating temperature in the R744 vapor compression cycle. The main results were summarized as follows : the superheating degree, outlet temperature and evaporating temperature of R744 vapor compression refrigeration system have an effect on the cooling capacity and COP of this system. With a thorough grasp of these effect, it is necessary to design the compression refrigeration cycle using R744.
Performance Analysis of Refrigeration Cycle of Hydrocarbon Refrigerant using Suction-Line Heat Exchanger

This paper considers the influence of suction-line heat exchangers on the efficiency of a refrigeration cycle using hydrocarbon refrigerants such as R290, R600a and R1270. These suction-line heat exchangers can, in some cases, yield improved system performance while in other cases they degrade system performance. A steady state mathematical model is used to analyze the performance characteristics of refrigeration cycle with suction-line heat exchanger. The influence of operating conditions, such as the mass flowrate of hydrocarbon refrigerants, inner diameter tube and length of suction-line heat exchanger, to the performance of the cycle is also analyzed in the paper. Results showed that the mass flowrate of hydrocarbon refrigerants, inner diameter tube and length of suction-line heat exchanger, and effectiveness have an effect on the cooling capacity, compressor work and RCI(Relative Capacity Index) of this system. With a thorough grasp of these effect, it is necessary to design the compression refrigeration cycle of hydrocarbon refrigerants using suction-line heat exchanger.
Implementation of CAM Program for 6-Axis CNC Pipe Coaster

Joint paths are induced mathematically for many kinds of joint pattern between master- and sub-pipes. By compensating them with root gap of welds and kerf width, real cutting paths are determined. Their NC codes are generated, and the paths generated by NC code are verified by a ghost function. A beveling is implemented through tilting a torch in the A- and B-axis direction for 8 sections in the chuck rotation of C-axis. The effective CAM program was developed specially for 6-axis CNC pipe coasters which cut a master or sub- pipe along the cutting path and simultaneously fulfill a beveling process.

Independent-suspension type axles for heavy duty special vehicles are usually produced by only a few specialized companies. The special techniques, such as designing, producing, testing techniques has been unveiled. The test of durability with the vehicle in which is installed a prototype taking several years is required for setting the designing parameters. In this research, through-drive the core-component of the independent-suspension type axle has been tested with the reverse engineering and the testing methods for the confirmation of the accomplishment in the development goal has been suggested. Also the prototype is developed from designing and testing the design with the CAD and CAE tools. As a result, the process and testing methods studied in this research are useful in the development of power train.
LED sign board design using solar cells

This paper presents the design of the LED sign board system installed on the exterior of a building and powered by a photovoltaic system. A grid connected photovoltaic system has been designed with the capacity estimate of the load, battery and power. After the luminance and uniformity of LED load has been checked, the sign board and the solar cell modules have been installed. The performance and problems occurred during the field test for the photovoltaic LED sign board system have been analyzed.

This paper describes the system configuration and measured performances of a wireless power transmission system which utilizes microwave. The technically final target of this system is to provide DC power to various mobile terminals within limited spaces such as buildings, conference rooms, and so on. The prototype system is built using in-house designed and fabricated circuits such as microwave oscillator, high power amplifier, microstrip patch antenna, low pass filter, and detector/rectifier. The fixed RF power of 29.3dBm at 2.4GHz is produced from the high power amplifier and transmitted through the transmitting antenna, while the received RF power at the receiving antenna is transformed into DC power through the detector/rectifier. The measured change of DC voltage according to the distance between transmitting and receiving antenna is described.
Impact Evaluation of Plug-in Electric Vehicle Loading on Distribution Systems in North America

This paper proposes the process for evaluating the impact of charging the PHEV(Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) on the distribution systems, and analyzes the study results employing the actual systems as the PHEV is highly expected to increase in the automobile industries in North America in the near future. Since the charging load of the PHEV directly connected to the distribution systems would consume electric power much more than any other existing electric product of residential customers, the new modeling and process would be required to consider the PHEV in distribution systems planning. The EPRI(Electric Power Research Institute) is collaboratively conducting the impact study of PHEV on the distribution systems with power utilities in North America. This study models distribution systems and the charging load of the PHEV using OpenDSS software, and analyzes the impact of PHEV on the distribution systems by assuming various scenarios with different charging time and PHEV types.
A Dual-Band Asymmetrical Metamaterial Antenna for Orthogonal Radiation Patterns

A new metamaterial antenna with dual resonant modes is presented using an asymmetrical periodic arrangement for orthogonal radiation patterns. The proposed antenna produces two orthogonal modes by the asymmetrical periodic unit-cell arrangement. The orthogonal resonant mode provides perpendicular radiation patterns without changing the antenna polarization at each resonant mode. The fabricated antenna shows good agreements with the theoretical analysis of the electric-field. The experimental results shows the orthogonal radiation patterns along x- and y-axises, and gains are 3.34 and 3.86 dBi at each radiating resonant mode, respectively. Additionally, slotted ground structures are embedded on the back side of the antenna in order to reduce the size and enhance the radiation efficiency of 12 % and 27 %, respectively.
A Study on the Algorithm for Multi-Functional Protection Devices in Distribution Systems with New Energy Sources

The typical distribution systems have the power flow from distribution substations (sources) to customers (load) only as one direction. However, in the case where new energy power sources are connected to distribution systems, the output variations of new energy sources to distribution systems, which is so called reverse power flow, may cause the bi-directional power flow. So, the reverse power flow has severe impacts on typical power system, for example power quality problems, protection coordination problems, and so on. Therefore, this paper proposes the algorithm for Multi-functional protection devices in distribution systems in the case where new energy sources are interconnected. The proposed algorithm is verified to show the effectiveness by simulating and experimenting the prototype systems.

A novel adaptive phase calibration method is proposed for nonlinear amplifiers. Based on the adaptive process of simple phase vector calculations, the AM/PM distortion can be significantly reduced for various input power. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated for up to 80 % improvements in AM/PM distortions, compared with the distortion of a conventional amplifier. Moreover, by means of an additional envelope-compensation technique, the improvement of the adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) is presented.
A Plan for Construction of the National Electrical Safety Grid to Prevent the Fires Caused by Electrical Faults

In this paper, in order to monitor and manage an electrical risk factor like as leakage current, load current, and arc-fault, a real time monitoring and management system being operated in the ubiquitous environment was developed, and a plan of construction of an electrical safety grid using the system was proposed. For confirmation of usefulness and reliability of the proposed safety system and grid, the developed intelligent panels were applied to 28 Korean traditional houses in Jeonjoo city, and the grid including the panels was operated. If the proposed National Electrical Safety Grid is completely constructed in the houses of general electrical users, the Grid will have an effect on that a main manager on electrical safety transfers from management system by general people to real-time management system by expert. As a result, the electrical fires caused by an over-load, an arc-fault, and an earth-fault will be prevented.
Simulation Study on the Multipath Tracking Errors

This paper describes the radar tracking errors due to the presence of surface reflected waves. We investigate the previous studies on tracking errors and developed a tracking error estimation program using Matlab. We suggest an accurate error prediction method by considering the antenna beamwidth and surface reflection coefficient. The presented results well agree with theoretical predictions.
Detecting Nighttime Pedestrians for PDS Using Camera in Visible Spectrum

The death rate of pedestrians in car accidents in Korea is about 2.5 times higher than the average of OECD countries'. If a system that can detect pedestrians and send alarm to driver is built and reduces the rate, it is worth developing such a pedestrian detection system (PDS). Since the accident rate in which pedestrians are involved is higher at nighttime than in daytime, the adoption of nighttime PDS is being standardized by big auto companies. However, they are usually using expensive night visions or multiple sensors for their PDS. In this paper we propose a method for nighttime PDS using a monochrome visible spectrum camera. We could verify its superiority in both performance and real?time operation to existing algorithm through tests against video data taken in several different environments.
Importance Analysis of SCM Adoption Factors

This study aims to analyze the importances of various SCM adoption factors suggested in precedent researches with AHP. SCM adoption factors were categorized by four types: organization factor, transaction factor, relation factor, and information factor. Each factor has sub-factors. Organization factor has five sub-factors: adoption strategy, support of CEO, maturity of information technology, development of assessment system, and innovation leadership. Transaction factor has three sub-factors: transaction period, delivery/quality, and shared goal. Relation factor has five sub-factors: trust, collaboration, inter-dependence, conflict, and immersion. Information factor has three sub-factors: information quality, information share, and information exchange. There are sixteen sub-factors altogether. Analyzing the importances of SCM adoption factors with AHP, the importance of organization factor(.387) ranked the highest. Relation factor(.291), information factor(.167), and transaction factor(.155) followed. Putting the analysis results of primary hierarchy factors and secondary hierarchy factors together, support of CEO(.169) ranked the highest and trust(.124), adoption strateg (.089), share goal(.081), information exchange(.069), collaboration(.064), and information share (.057) followed.
IP Assignment Analysis Based on DHCP at High-speed Network

Recently, Telecommunication companies have introduced a new network architecture that assigns network resources consistent and protects their systems more secure. Now, they provide multimedia services through various types of access networks. In this study, I'd like to introduce IP address assignment method based on the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and find out how success or failure of Ip address assignment will be taken place according to the booting order of xDSL modem, AP and PC.

Todays, telecommunications companies tried to transform CDMA users into 3G service, WCDMA users. However, the WCDMA market growth is postponed by the lack of difference between CDMA and WCDMA service, customer's switching barriers such as loyalty program and handset, etc. Therefore, in this study, we tried to identify the relationship between the customer's satisfaction to the WCDMA services and the intention to uses using the WCDMA users' data. Additionally, we set the customer's attitude of technology adoption as a moderating variable between the customer's satisfaction to the WCDMA services and the intention to use. We expect that our results will be useful in planning the strategies of WCDMA service.
Analysis of Awareness Performance for Applying RFID in Electric Power Equipment

In this paper, when the power equipment, which is based on RFID, is managed, it is reviewed the performance of RFID frequency recognition and its scheme is required to manage status information efficiently. The proposed paper is studied for optimization of recognition performance, when tags are attached the power equipment & major components, to diagnosis failure status of power equipment in monitoring service. The results of paper is valuable applying environment of power equipment.
A Study on the Technical Regulation of Weak Electric Filed Strength Radio Equipment about 58kHz Frequency Band

This paper compared the output limits value of the Korean weak electric field strength wireless device in the 58kHz band with the standard values of foreign countries. Through this, the study confirmed that the Korean regulation was lower by about 50dB than those of the USA or Europe. In order to prove this, the study measured outputs by entrusting the 58kHz EAS system to two measuring companies. As a result of these measurements, electric field strengths were shown to be
respectively, and these values were confirmed to exceed the current Korean standard of
. Accordingly, it is deemed necessary to review the specifications of the Korean standard in the 58kHz band.
Performance Evaluation of Smoothing Algorithms Reflecting Network Traffic

In the adaptable bandwidth allocation technique, a transmission plan for variable rate video data is made by smoothing algorithms such as CBA algorithm and the data is sent by the transmission plan considering network traffic. But the CBA algorithm, the MCBA algorithm, MVBA algorithm and the other smoothing algorithms produce a transmission plan where the size of the increasing interval of transmission rate is generally larger than the size of the decreasing interval. And the transmission rate in CBA algorithm, the MCBA algorithm, the MVBA algorithm is changed in overflow curve during the increasing interval of transmission rate. This may cause many frames to be discarded when available transmission rate is larger than transmission rate by the transmission plan. In this paper, the smoothing algorithm, where transmission rate is changed in the middle of underflow curve and overflow curve to decrease the number of discarded frames, but the transmission rate increases at the minimum, and the CBA algorithm, the MCBA algorithm, the MVBA algorithm are applied to a transmission plan in the adaptable bandwidth allocation technique, and the minimum frame rates, the average frame rates, the variation of frame rates, and the numbers of discarded frames are compared in among algorithms.
Performance Comparison of the Recognition Methods of a Touched Area on a Touch-Screen Panel for Embedded Systems

In case of an embedded system having an LCD panel with touch-screen capability, various figures such as rectangles, pentagons, circles, and arrows are frequently used for the delivery of user-input commands. In such a case, it is necessary to have an algorithm that can recognize whether a touched location is within a figure on which a specific user-input command is assigned. Such algorithms, however, impose a considerable amount of overhead for embedded systems with restricted amount of computing resources. This paper first describes a method for initializing and driving a touch-screen LCD and a coordinate-calibration method that converts touch-screen coordinates into LCD panel coordinates. Then it introduces methods that can be used for recognizing touched areas of rectangles, many-sided figures like pentagons, and circles; they are a range checking method for rectangles, a crossing number checking method for many-sided figures, a distance measurement method for circles, and a color comparison method that can be applied to all figures. In order to evaluate the performance of these methods, we implement two-dimensional graphics functions for drawing figures like triangles, rectangles, circles, and images. Then, we draw such figures and measures times spent for the touched-area recognition of these figures. Measurements show that the range checking is the most suitable method for rectangles, the distance measurement for circles, and the color comparison for many-sided figures and images.
Hopping Routing Scheme to Resolve the Hot Spot Problem of Periodic Monitoring Services in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper we proposed a hopping routing scheme to resolve the hot spot problem for periodic monitoring services in wireless sensor networks. Our hopping routing scheme constructs load balanced routing path, where an amount of energy consumption of all nodes in the sensor networks is predictable. Load balanced routing paths can be obtained from horizontal hopping transmission scheme which balances the load of the sensor nodes in the same area, and also from vertical hopping transmission scheme which balances the load of the sensor nodes in the other area. The direct transmission count numbers as load balancing parameter for vertical hopping transmission are derived using the energy consumption model of the sensor nodes. The experimental results show that the proposed hopping scheme resolves the hot spot problem effectively. The efficiency of hopping routing scheme is also shown by comparison with other routing scheme such as multi-hop, direct transmission and clustering.
Study on Load Redistribution Mechanism in Grid System

For applications that are grid enabled, the grid can offer a resource balancing effect by scheduling grid jobs on machines with low utilization. When jobs communicate with each other, the internet, with storage resources, an advanced scheduler could schedule them to minimize communications traffic or minimize the distance of the communications. We propose an load redistribution algorithm to minimize communication traffic and distance of the communication using genetic algorithm. The experiments show the proposed load redistribution algorithm performs efficiently in the variance of load in grid environments.
A Mining-based Healthcare Multi-Agent System in Ubiquitous Environments

Healthcare is a field where ubiquitous computing is most widely used. We propose a mining-based healthcare multi-agent system for ubiquitous computing environments. This proposed scheme select diagnosis patterns using mining in the real-time biosignal data obtained from a patient's body. In addition, we classify them into normal, emergency and be ready for an emergency. This proposed scheme can deal with the enormous quantity of real-time sensing data and performs analysis and comparison between the data of patient's history and the real-time sensory data. We separate Association rule exploration into two data groups: one is the existing enormous quantity of medical history data. The other group is real-time sensory data which is collected from sensors measuring body temperature, blood pressure, pulse. Proposed system has advantage that can handle urgent situation in the far away area from hospital through PDA and mobile device. In addition, by monitoring condition of patient in a real time base, it shortens time and expense and supports medical service efficiently.

Recently AI(Artificial Intelligence) is one of the issues in the on-line game, a research that a game character seems to be realistic and is progressing using AI technique. Especially NPC is an important part of the AI researches of on-line game, and it is concerned by a game player and an architect. We proposed an intelligent agent framework to implement the NPC technique after studying the NPC technique using context awareness that reacts to the PC(Player Character) actively. Also, it can be developed gradually, and apply to various application because it has the capability to of adding an agent or deleting an agent easily.

In this paper, we implement measurement functionality for performance measurement of the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) terminal by using software. Generally speaking, the receiving algorithms in normal modems cannot be used directly to the measurement system due to the lack of the algorithm accuracy. In this paper, we propose the new receiver algorithm for precise GSM signal measurements. In the receiving algorithm, 2-stage (coarse stage, fine stage) parameters estimation (symbol-timing, frequency offset, carrier phase) scheme is used. To improve the estimation accuracy, we increase the number of the received signal samples by interpolation. The proposed GSM signal measurement algorithm can be used for verifying the hardware measurement system. In addition, the proposed algorithm can be used for the commercial system through code execution speed optimization.

A New Lightweight Mutual Authentication Protocol for Home Network

In this paper, we propose a lightweight mutual authentication protocol for secure and efficient home network service. Lee et al. recently proposed an attribute-base authentication key agreement protocol using public key in home network. Its protocol provided forward secrecy but don't diminish conspicious overhead of operation using ticket. Therefore the proposed protocol provided the security and efficiency using hash function and counter. Also it can provide secure home network service by check consumer electronics control level of users after created session key.

This study is on development of UV-cured hard coating compounds which have more improved abrasion resistance than existing UV-cured urethane-acrylic resin, to prevent a surface of a widely used PVC tile as a constructive material from being scratched. To make a high abrasion resistant hard coating solution compared to UV-cured urethane-acrylic resin which has no abrasion resistance and been used for PVC tiles, we added powder substances of different abrasion resistant level,
(KS-5000), etc., to the resin, changing their contents from 10% to 30% against quantities of resin, and compounded it using Ring-Mill. After coating PVC tiles with the hard coating solution using bar-coating method that can adjust a thickness, we estimated some surface properties-abrasion resistance, pencil hardness, adhesive power, thickness of coating, and so on. As a result, a hard coating solution added 30%
powder to the resin had the finest surface properties-the first grade in abrasion resistance, H in pencil hardness, 100% in adhesive power, and a hard coating solution which showed excellent solidity and abrasion resistance has smaller particle size, higher powder content, and thicker coating thickness.
A Study on the Change of Load Carrying Capacity of High-tension Bolt Joints by Critical Sections

This study conducted a static tensile test in order to prevent the lowering of load carrying capacity caused by critical sections made by over bolt holes in the base plate and the cover plate of steel member joints using high-tension bolts. The change of the load carrying capacity of joints was examined by comparison of the maximum load on joint fracture obtained from the tensile test with critical section rate and design strength. According to the results, the rate of decrease in strength was higher when the critical section rate was high, and in particular, decrease in strength was affected much more by critical sections in the base plate than by those in the cover plate. In high-tension bolt joints using over bolt holes for the base plate and the cover plate, load carrying performance was somewhat lower than that in joints using standard bolt holes, but the maximum tensile strength on facture was over 15% higher than design fracture strength. According to the results of this study, the use of over bolt holes in high-tension bolt joints had an insignificant effect on the lowering of load carrying capacity, so the allowance of over bolt holes in the joints of steel members is expected to enhance to the economy and efficiency of the works.

We consider organizational knowledge combination process. Previous literature investigated the issue from either managerial or social aspects, emphasizing on a part of the whole process and limiting to qualitative analyses. Here we propose an integrative and quantitative approach which considers knowledge combination process from engineering perspective. We employ a queueing network model and techniques to capture the process of interactions of entities in the knowledge combination environment. By doing so, we are able to understand the performance of the knowledge combination process. The performance measures derived can provide valuable implications for managerial decisions such as planning and controlling the knowledge combination process.

This study, centering on public enterprises, has been conducted from 4 different perspectives such as grasping the effects that the factor precedent of the multi-rater feedback affects on the usefulness of evaluation and the effects that the usefulness of evaluation affects on the organizational achievement, checking on whether there is any discrepancy among the effects affecting on the usefulness of evaluation in accordance with the degree of advance training on the evaluation system, and being what kind of effects the usefulness of valuation that the appraised eventually understand affects on the organizational achievement. As result of the study, the factor precedent that are confidence of the appraisers and the support from CEO reasonably affected on the usefulness of evaluation, but the standard referred to evaluation was not reasonable. It became resultantly clear that the confidence of the appraisers held the effect of control from the verification of whether there is the effect of control between the factor precedent and the usefulness of evaluation in accordance with the degree of advance training. However, it turned out that the standard referred to evaluation and the support from CEO held no effect of control. As result, It was possible to confirm that the usefulness of evaluation in this study affects directly or indirectly to the organizational achievement such as organizational immersion, job satisfaction, self development opportunity, and organizational revitalization as influenced by the prior factors, and the advance training was partially effective on the adjusting effect.

In this research we propose the need of implementing CRM systems to reactivate traditional retail markets, and analyze the primary factors for successful implementation of CRM systems. We derived 4 primary factors such as business management, customer management, service management, and facility management among 22 measurement factors. The characteristics of each primary factor are ; product planning and certification management activities are needed for business management factor. Privileged treatment policies for primary customers are regarded as needed. And the needs for total service in service management factor including from order to delivery and return are raised. Finally, improvements of convenient facilities for using traditional retail markets are needed.

The aim of the study is to look at the impact of 'NPD process planning proficiency' on NPD performance. In particular, the current study examines this effect at firm's level (NPD program), rather than at the level of individual project. This study investigate the impact of process planning proficiency considering other NPD proficiencies (i.e. marketing and technical proficiency). In addition to the main effect of process planning proficiency, the current study investigates the interaction effect between process planning proficiency and marketing proficiency (or technical proficiency). Based on a cross-industry sample of 103 Korean manufacturers, this study examines the impact of NPD process planning proficiency on product family performance. The current study focuses on platform projects which play a critical role on product family's successes. NPD process planning proficiency has significant impact on both NPD technical and commercial performance. Technical proficiency is not directly associated with NPD performance. However, this study finds the interaction effects of technical proficiency with process planning proficiency on NPD performance.
Measurement Accuracy of Blood Glucose Test on the Forearm

The present study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the blood glucose test with almost painless vacuum assisted auto-lancing technique. The blood glucose concentration measurements in the capillary blood sampled from the alternative (forearm) site were compared with the standard venous or finger sampling techniques. Capillary blood was sampled from both the left index finger and the forearm, followed by the venous blood sampling in 531 patients who visited the C University Hospital. Blood sugar test was performed for each blood samples for comparative analysis. Mean blood glucose concentration measured on the forearm was closer to the venous glucose level than that of the finger, but the difference was approximately 10 mg/dL small enough to ignore from the clinical point of view. The correlation coefficients of the measured blood glucose levels between finger and vein and between forearm and vein were 0.94 and 0.92, respectively (p<0.001). The blood glucose measurement on the forearm also well correlated with the finger, showing a correlation coefficient of 0.94, and both data were very much close to each other. Therefore, the blood sugar test on the alternative capillary blood sampling site such as forearm was accurate enough for clinical practice. The vacuum assisted auto-lancing technique on the alternative site would be of particular interest for the disease management of the chronic diabetes, since it induces almost no pain when sampling blood from the capillaries.

In this study, the parameter extraction for evaluation of the anesthesia depth in each anesthesia stages was conducted. An object of the this experiment study has studied 5 adult patients (mean
), ASA classification I and II, undergoing surgery of obstetrics and gynecology. Anaesthesia was maintained with Enflurane. HRV signal was created by R-peak detection algorithm form ECG signal. The HRV data were preprocessing algorithm. It has tried find out the anesthesia parameter which responds the anesthesia events and shows objective anesthesia depth according to anesthesia stage including pre-anesthesia, induction, maintenance, awake and post-anesthesia. In this study, proposed algorithm to analysis the HRV(heart rate variability) signal using wavelet transform in anesthesia stage. Three sorts of wavelet functions applied to PSD. In the result, all of the results were showed similarly. But experiment results of Daubeches 10 is better. Therefore, this parameter is the best parameter in the evaluation of anesthesia stage.
A Study on the Relationship between Dental Technician's Working Environment and Job Stress

The purpose of this study was to analyze dental technician's job environment and job stress level and to examine its correlation. 180 dental technicians in Seoul, Incheon, and Chungnam area were selected. Survey was carried out from April 6, 2009 to May 20, 2009 by using self-administered questionnaire. The following are the analytical results in the collected data. 1. As a result of analyzing the research subjects' working environment level, there was significant difference in the item of health(P<0.05). The average in the working environment was indicated to be high with 1.53. 2. As a result of analyzing the research subjects' job-stress causing level, there was no significant item in all the variables. The average of job stress was indicated to be high with 3.44. 3. As for correlation between working environment and job stress, most of variables were indicated to have reverse correlation, thereby having been shown that the worse working environment leads to the more job stress.
A Study on Oral Health Behaviors Depending on Oral Examination of Students at S Boys' High School

The purpose of this study is to conduct an oral examination of total 220 students (1st grade) at S Boys' High School in Seoul metropolitan City. The results of oral examination can be outlined as follows: According to survey on experience of oral symptoms 85.5% students had no experience of tooth fracture, 76.8% students had no experience of hemodia, and 90.9% students had no experience of toothache. And it was found that 86.4% students had no experience of periodontal disease, 98.2% students had no experience of intraoral pain, and 88.2% had no experience of subjective halitosis symptom. According to survey on oral health behaviors, 73.6 % students had no experience of visiting any dental clinic over last one year. In particular, it was found that 57.3% students brushed their teeth after breakfast every day, 19.1% students didn't enjoy having any confectionery or sweet stuff, or taking soft drink like coke on a daily basis, and 19.5% students used fluoride toothpaste for toothbrushing as of this survey. According to oral health examination, 55.9% students had no dental caries, and 44.1% students had dental caries. And it was found that most students (79.2%) had dental calculus resulting from periodontal disease.
A Study on Microbial Pollution of Indoor Air at Elderly Care Facilities

(Biomerieux), which is a microbe interceptor based on inertial impaction interception, in order to investigate bioaerosol in indoor and outdoor air at five elderly care facilities in a metropolis and an urban-rural consolidated city for two months from April 1 to May 31, 2007. From the culture followed by isolation and identification, the following conclusions were drawn. 1. As for the general isolation of microbes in each facility, care center S had the largest amount of microbes (263 cfu/
) isolated in a 300L room, followed by care center U having 123 cfu/
isolated. 2. As for the number of bacteria isolated from a medium intercepting 300 L indoor, the largest amount of other unidentified or non-pathogenic Gram positive cocci (321 cfu/
) was isolated and most of the other Gram positive cocci were CNS (Coagulase Negative Staphylococcus). 3. As for the number of fungi isolated from a medium intercepting 300 L in a room, the largest number of Aspergillus spp. (66) was isolated, followed by Mucor spp. (62 cfu/

A Preliminary Study on the Psychopathological protocols of the Vietnam War Agent Orange Patients and Korean Civil War Wound Soldier -Focus on Rorschach Tests-

This study was carried to examine overall psychopathological patterns of the Vietnam Civil War Veterans(Agent Orange patients)and Korean Civil War veterans(wounded soldier) using Rorschach tests. Test protocols of were compared with those of twenty Vietnam Civil War Veterans group and twenty-one Korean Civil War veterans. Rorschach protocols were administrated, scored, analysed according to the Exner's comprehensive system. Specifically, each Rorschach variable was divided into 3 clusters(e.g., core section, response determinants, and several special indices. The results of t-tests between the Vietnam Civil War Veterans group and the Korean Civil War veterans showed that Vietnam Civil War Veterans group were characterized as 1)cognitive rigidity, 2) ineffective problem solving, 3)emotional represion, 4)hypervigilance, 5)anxiety and 6) depressive tendency. These patterns suggest that still Vietnam Civil War Veterans experience the past trauma and lasting psychological seguela. Other implications and limitations of this study were discussed.

This study it to find out how to manage the conflict within a hospital organization. We use survey data of 269 employees of one university hospital. The result is as follows. The type of conflict management varied significantly according to sex, age, and departments. Among the type of conflict management, avoidance was differed significantly by sex. and competition, avoidance, cooperation were differed significantly by age, and avoidance, cooperation were differed significantly by department. Conflict is always in exist in a complex organization like a hospital. Though the data has its own limit as of only one hospital, through this study, we could find that there were some differences in the way of conflict management in hospital organization according to sex, age, and departments. With the result, we expect to find a way to improve the working performance by knowing how to manage conflicts within a university hospital.
The Effects of Trunk Stability Exercise on Dynamic Balance in the Persons with Chronic Stroke.

This study compared the relative effectiveness of trunk stability exercise with general balance exercise on dynamic balance for patients with chronic patients. Thirty eight subjects were recruited and randomly divided into two groups. One group was trained trunk stability exercise and the other group was trained general balance exercise. This process was carried out three times a week for seven weeks. Dynamic balance was measured prior to commencement of the exercise programs, and again after seven weeks, when the programs were completed, in order to establish the effectiveness of both exercise programs. Both the trunk stability exercise and the general balance exercise increased BBS and TUG(p<.001). The trunk stability exercise was more effective at increasing BBS(p<.05). We suggest that trunk stability exercise is effective in the improvement of balance ability in the persons with chronic stroke. Therefore, the trunk stability exercise is considered to important when the stroke patients are trained. Further studies of effectiveness of trunk stability exercise should be carried out to increase our understanding of this area of study.
Evaluation of Epidemic Characteristics of Extended Spectrum β-Lactamase Producing Bacteria Isolated from Blood Cultures

The data which analyze the results of blood cultures are crucial basic information of the empirical therapy for patients with infection since the patterns of the species of microorganism isolated from blood and the results of antibiotic susceptibility test vary depending upon patients general features. Especially, in case of ESBL-producing bacteria, there is a close relation with use of antibiotics. Therefore, we carried out the research with the results of blood culture and antibiotic. 1. Total 39,305 cases of blood culture samples were investigated and positive patients of 2,216 (20.0%) were found. Among those, there were 40 patients with ESBL positive, and blood culture positive samples were 4,798 (12.2%). ESBL positive bacteria were found in 86 samples (including double checked culture bacteria). 2. The majority of ESBL producing bacteria were E. coli, K. pneumoniae and K. oxitoca as ordering based on the number. 3. The research showed the results that there were more females than male with the bacterias, more E. coli in over 50 years old aged group than other bacterias, more K. pneumoniae and K.oxitoca in less 1 year old aged group than other bacterias and largest numbers of patients with 13 patients (32.5%) in Chungcheongnam-do province were found. 4. The most common ESBL producing bacteria were E. coli throughout 3 years, but K, pneumoniae and K. oxitoca were also fairly found. Interestingly, E. coli was highly found in over 50 years old patients.

Especially, there was statistical significantly difference in the carbonated drink. Morphological changes by scanning electron microscope were indicated that children's range beverage cause significant enamel demineralization effects on bovine tooth surface among five beverages.
Relationship Between Health Behaviors of Local Residents and Stomach Cancer Incidence

This study was performed to evaluate relationship between health behaviors of local residents and stomach cancer incidence. Case-control study was carried out on 91 cases matched for age and sex with 91 controls in a general hospital in Seoul. It was surveyed using questionnaires and interview from December 20, 2008 to January 30, 2009. Major findings are as follows. First, significant negative association was observed in recreational activity ; OR for active group was 0.23, 0.41 relative to the inactive group. Secondly alcohol consumption was a significant risk factor; relative to non-drinker for drinker of more than 30 years(OR=5.17 95% Cl=1.78-19.95). Thirdly, Eating broiled food showed a positive significant association with risk for stomach cancer(OR=3.79 95% Cl=1.61-9.84) for consumption of three times more per week. As a result of multiple logistic regression analysis, income, BMI 10 years ago, recreational activity, alcohol consumption, eating broiled and salt food were associated with stomach cancer. In conclusion, the correlation of stomach cancer incidence can be found in recreational activity, alcohol consumption, eating broiled and salt food, income, and BMI 10 years ago.
Development of Smart Brain-Wave Care System based on 3-Tier Client/Server Model

The brain-wave research provides relatively various information for brain condition in safety. The counselor or measuree will must easily reduce user TCO about the series of process for the measurement, analysis, and management of brain-wave, and can access to the desired information in real time. While the traditional method for brain-wave process was processed manually by the judgment of a specialist. In this paper the developed system is smart brain-wave care system based on optimizing and combining the 3-Tier client/server by IT with brain-wave technology including BQT. This system was developed in the real-time service with a completely automated process by the conveniently web interface. Our system currently gave a service at the field, and the collected data on DB were provided to researchers for the use of clinical research.
A Study on the Oral Health Care and Oral Health Awareness of Some Laborers

The purpose of this study was to examine the oral health care and oral health awareness of some laborers. Out of them, 220 workers were selected from K motor company in Hwaseong, and the other 180 workers were selected from D automobile company in Bupyeong. The findings of the study were as follows: As for daily toothbrushing frequency, the largest number of the laborers investigated(44.0%) brushed their teeth three times a day. Smoking made a significant difference to that(
=19.00, p<.01). Concerning the use of oral hygiene supplies, 41.3 percent put oral hygiene supplies to use. There was a significant difference in that aspect according to gender(
=9.20, p<.01). Regarding scaling experience, the largest group(37.3%) had their teeth scaled twice or more, and their scaling experience significantly varied with gender(
=8.60, p<.05), age(
=20.07, p<.01), academic credential(
=11.88, p<.01) and the presence or absence of systemic diseases(
=8.19, p<.05). In relation to oral diseases, the greatest group(27.8%) had dental caries. By gender, the female workers had more dental caries or the more swollen gums than the males, and the gap between the two was significant(
