Study of Safety on Damage of Automotive Door at Impact

In this study, the safety of passenger could be investigated by the analysis of car body to absorb he shock onto automotive door. The damage at door happens because of the collision of automotive door or parking accident due to the carelessness of driver. This door was modelled by CATIA program. The damage process of this model by impact was analyzed and investigated through ANSYS program. The contours of equivalent stress and strain were obtained. It can be known how damage of door becomes under impact and this study result can be thought to contribute for the design of door considering impact safety.

New E-EGR valve design to suppress a carbon deposit causing a trouble in the valve by improving gas flow velocity is proposed. With CFD simulations of various shapes of valve disk and rod, the velocities and quantities of flowing fluid are observed. The proposed unique design of having round grooves on the disk head shows the improved performance of flow velocity about 10 % without sacrificing the flow quantity.

The This research paper deals with research on the 3D strip layout design of HEV UV terminal by utilizing the Cimatron Die Design, an automation module. To ensure smooth stamping of the product, strip layout was corrected for 33.5 degrees of slope, and blank layout of the double-width, 1-line, 1-pull out inner carrier was then optimized as a single arrangement. To mass-produce two different terminals from one common die, 3D strip layout design and die design were completed in 29 different processes.
The Multi-Objective Optimal Design of Vehicle Component Manufacturing System with Simulation and ANP

This paper suggested the optimal operating design method using simulation and ANP(Analytic Network Process) for mass-customization in the automotive component manufacturing industry. For this, first of all, we built the simulation model including various and complex factors in the field, and estimated the meta-model by RSM(Response Surface Method). Secondly using ANP, we calculated the weight of relative importance of evaluation factors gathered from decision makers. And then, we proposed the optimal operation designs by MOGA(Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm), analyzed results of them. Moreover, by comparing the results with the consequences using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), we showed its superiority of suggested method to the manner using AHP, because it reflects inner, outer dependency, and inter-relation among judgement factors. In conclusion, through this process, we can present the better way to serve mover effective, precise, and accurate information to decision makers when they build operation design for mass-customization system as automotive parts production system.
A Study on Correlations of Job Competence and Job Fitness with Functions of National Technical Qualification in Mechanical Field

To determine the influence of qualification on field and currency, the model is presented that there is the connection between job competence and job fit about the function of qualification. To find out this connection, the study is being done and based on this, a clue of qualification on field and currency is tried to figure out. First, in case of national technical qualification holders in Machinery field, the type of the function of qualification(signal, guide, screen functions) of job competence and job fit shows correlation between them. Second, the job competence and job fit of the owner of national technical qualification in Machinery field is mostly affected by signal function. Thirdly, the mediating effect of job competence on the effect of the function of qualification on job-fit is showed by the types of function of qualification. Guide function does not have any mediation effect, but signal function and screen function have the mediation effect. Especially, out of all, signal function is the most affecting factor of mediating effect. Lastly, the model of the relationship between subordinate factors by types of function of qualification on job competence and job fitis presented.
Development of Tapered Rolling Type Strip Pressure Key for the Prevention of Scratch

In this study, we developed new tapered rolling type strip pressure key for the prevention of scratch in sheet metal forming line. The developed pressure key is equipped with two tapered rollers inside a conventional block pressure key. Through the scratch test, for the case of transversal movement the tapered rolling type pressure key reduces both friction and depth of scratch by the effect of tapered shape which decreases the pressure spike on edge, and for longitudinal movement the scratch on the sheet metal surface is certainly removed by the rolling contact.
Performance Characteristics of Water-Chilling Heat Pump Using CO
on Control of Inverter Frequency

The performance characteristics of water-chilling heat pump using CO2 for the control of inverter frequency was investigated experimentally. An experimental apparatus is consisted of a compressor, a gas cooler, an expansion valve, an evaporator and a liquid receiver. All heat exchangers used in the test rig are counter flow type heat exchangers with concentric dual tubes, which are made of copper. The gas cooler and the evaporator consist of 6 and 4 straight sections respectively arranged in parallel, each has 2.4m length. The experimental results summarize as the following: for constant inlet temperature of evaporator and gas cooler, as mass flow rate, compression ratio and discharge pressure increases with the inverter frequency. And heating capacity and compressor work increases, but coefficient of performance(COP) decreases with the inverter frequency of compressor. As inlet temperature of secondary fluid in the evaporator increases from
, compression ratio and compressor work decreases, but mass flow rate, heating capacity and COP increases with the inverter frequency of compressor. The above tendency is similar with performance variation with respect to the variation of inverter frequency in the conventional vapor compression refrigeration cycle.

The biopsy operation, especially in lungs, is essential to inspect whether some detected tumors are malignant or benign. But it requires a series of precise and careful actions which is time-consuming and the operator is easy to be exposed to over-radiation. We developed a distantly controlled robot for the CT-guided biopsy which is radiation-free. The robot system is easily and precisely controlled in distant from the radiation source and most actions of the biopsy operation can be automated. Also this robot has a specially designed needle insertion device which does less pain to the patient.
One-wave Step Horn Design for Ultrasonic Machining for Metal Welding

The ultrasonic metal welding is highly used in extensive field due to the possibility for welding of various materials such as new materials, plated structures and etc, and its welding conditions has been diversify. In this paper, one-wavelength tool horn of step type designed for ultrasonic metal welding of dissimilar metal sheets has performed by FEM analysis. FEM analysis is applied to predict the natural frequency of ultrasonic tool horn and use of in the optimal design of ultrasonic horn shape. And the optimal design of one-wavelength step horn is confirmed experimentally using natural frequency analysis system.

The purpose of this study was to identify the perceptions of local food to activate the school meal service. This study examined the concept of local food in Korea and its usage the definition and benefit of local food has been done through experts who are food producers or distributors, and operators related in school meal. The result of this study could be provided a basic items of survey for further research to identify the consumers' perceptions on using local food.
The Effect of Social Influence on Users' Cognition, Flow, and Actual Usage in Web 2.0

Using Technology Acceptance Model and flow theory as our foundation, this paper investigates the interrelationships among social influence, individual cognition, flow, and actual usage in the Web 2.0 environment. According to TAM, users evaluate perceived usefulness(PU) and ease of use(PEU) of information technology(IT) in accepting the innovative IT. Along with users' cognitive evaluation(i.e. PU and PEU), in case of UCC(user-created-contents), which is one of the representative Web 2.0 features, flow also has a significant effect on users' usage. Accordingly, the current study involve cognitive elements such as PU and PEU as well as flow of enjoyable state during using IT in exploring antecedents leading to UCC usage. On one hand, we consider the effect of social influence on users' cognition and flow toward actual usage because the more users creates Web contents, the more long-tail situation prevails on the Internet. Web 2.0 becomes a kind of social phenomena. The empirical results show that social influence affects positively both PU/PEU and flow. Users' cognitive evaluation and flow have positive impacts on users' UCC usage.
Security Issue in T-MAC Communication Protocol

Time out-medium access control (T-MAC) protocol is one of the well-known MAC protocols designed for wireless sensor networks (WSN), and is proposed to enhance the poor performance of the S-MAC protocol. In this paper, we are reviewed about security vulnerability in T-MAC, and analyzed the power which is consumed at each stage of T-MAC protocol according to vulnerability of denial of service (DoS) and replay problem. From our analytical results, it can be considered the need of power efficient authentication scheme which provides the reliability, efficiency, and security for a general T-MAC communication. This is the case study of possible DoS vulnerability and its power consumption in T-MAC.
An analysis on the competition patterns between Paper-book and E-book using the Lotka-Volterra model

Electronic book(E-book) is a digitalized content which provides online service and digitalized text-based information that has been distributed in the form of Paper-book. E-book has been attracting people's attention in earnest since the Steven King's novel, 'Riding the Bullet' was published as a form of E-book in 2000. Since then, customers have paid attention to E-book, and the scale of E-book market has been growing sharply in Europe, China, Japan and Korea as well as the US. The purpose of this study is for actual analysis how Paper-book and E-book market compete with each other and expand into the world publication market. The relationship between Paper-book and E-book is modeled by the Lotka-Volterra Model designed for competitive relationships and estimate spreading curves. Also, competition patterns between Paper-book and E-book are analyzed by estimating coefficient of curve expression. This study shows the change of customers' demand which has been created since E-book was introduced to the publication market.
Survey on the Application of Standards and Specifications in Munitions Companies (I)

Based on the survey for munitions companies, we have tried to find current state of the application of Korean military specifications(KDS) and their references for munition products, and how they can be improved for a better management system. On average, Korean munitions companies have 660 of KS, 18 of U.S. military specifications, and 5 of foreign standards, and annually spend about 0.4 million won for KS, but 1.3 million won for foreign standards. In addition, they have emphasized the necessity of the integrated management system for KDS and the related drawings.
The Effects of Social Network on Entrepreneurial Activities Which are mediated by Entrepreneurship

This study focuses on the creation new jobs since it is considered as the national purpose recently. As this phenomenon regarded, this study is purposed to explore the effects of social network on entrepreneurial intentions and new venture. To promote an empirical analysis, the sample survey based on 208 domestic nascent entrepreneurs are collected and multiple regression analysis and mediated regression analysis are used. The results of an empirical analysis are as follow. First, the finding shows that social network of the strong ties and the week ties positively affect on entrepreneurial intentions. The strong ties more influence on entrepreneurial intentions. On the other hand, the week ties which are based on substantial business knowledge, information, and technology more affect on entrepreneurship. Second, entrepreneurial intentions play a role in the partial mediation effect between the strong ties and entrepreneurship, and the perfect mediation effect is indicated by between the week ties and entrepreneurship. The results suggest that nascent entrepreneurs have a lack of capital during business start-up period. As this regard, they tend to achieve related entrepreneurship resources through the strong ties such as family, relatives, and friends. Moreover, it is suggested that the potential nascent entrepreneurs should be aware of necessity of technological and economical support so that it can establish various social network. Furthermore, it encourages entrepreneurial intentions, fosters entrepreneurship, and indicates the direction of entrepreneurship through practical suggestions. it is expected that moderating effect of gender on nascent entrepreneurs and non nascent entrepreneurs leads to useful results for the future.
The Effects of Service Quality of Dispatch Companies on Satisfaction and Performance of User Companies

This study examined the effects of perceived service quality of dispatch companies on satisfaction and performance of user companies. The empirical investigation was conducted in human service sector. Service quality was classified into five dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Data were collected from 80 employees of user companies. Results indicated that responsiveness and assurance were positively related to satisfaction of user companies. Results also indicated that tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, and empathy were positively related to performance of user companies. This study had differential value that it applied the concept of SERVPERF into the labor market, and analyzed its effects on customers' satisfaction and performance. The results also have consequences for managers responsible of outsourced workers.
A Study on the Choice Behavior of Transportation Mode in Jeju

In order to solve the traffic problem in jeju, we must reduce demand for car travel. In addition, demand for passenger travel by public transport policy is needed for conversion. And to improve the quality of public transport services are desperately needed. The purpose of this study, personal characteristics of the trip traveler and the relationship between transportation choice, and personal effectiveness as a factor in travel costs and travel time on the impact of transportation choices will investigate. Restructure its public transportation routes, when to switch to buses to car traffic on the data as a basis for the factors that may be. In addition to improving the quality of public transport services is expected to be able to contribute. To study the performance of the May 2010 survey was conducted. And multinominal logit model were conducted. According to the analysis, People who own homes and families with more than 5 people are likely to use cars. If a prolonged travel time is likely to use buses. However, increasing the cost of travel increases the likelihood that the car is available.
The Effect of the of Hotel Information System(HIS) quality on Acceptance Level and Personal & Organizational Performance

As the role that information system and technique plays in hotel firms is critical, the quality of IS and IT is considered as one of most important factors that determine success of hotel firms. This study aims to examine the influences of the quality of IS/IT exerted on the user's level of acceptance of the HIS and the operational performance on both personal and organizational levels. Based on the data collected from 256 employees in reservation departments of 3 Seoul and 3 Busan deluxe hotels, the study tested the applied TAM model. The results indicated that the quality of IS/IT affects the user's acceptance level (eg., satisfaction and perceived usefulness), and such acceptance behavior affects reservation employees' performance on both personal and organizational levels. Managerial implications are also presented for researchers and practitioners of hotel firms.
The Prevalence of Neck Disability Index among Some College Students

Neck pain was commonly experienced by both adolescents and adults. The neck disability index(NDI) was the most commonly used self-report measure for evaluating status in neck pain. The objective of this study is to research the prevalence of the NDI in their 20's of college students in department of physical therapy. The data were collected from the NDI questionnaire of college students(males: 229, females: 405) for functional disability measures. Statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS 12.0 program, which was used for descriptive statistics, independent samples test and Pearson correlation analysis. The results were : First, 'headache' item was showed 'the highest prevalence' in second choice demonstrating the neck disability and 'pain intensity' in third choice. Second, female(46.4%) was higher distribution than male(36.3%) on score, percentage and grade of NDI(p<0.05). Third, the NDI grade was investigated that it is composed of 'no disability(63.8%)', 'mild disability(35.4%)', and 'moderate disability(0.9%)' in male and 'no disability(53.6%)', 'mild disability(44.7%)', 'moderate disability(1.5%)' and 'severe disability(0.2%)' in female. Fourth, there was a statically significant relationship between NDI grade and NDI items(p<0.05). These results have specific meaning as future clinical and epidemiological studies. Also, it is needed to education and preparation on prevention and management of neck disability among college students.
Gross-β Level in Dental Ceramic Materials

In all of dental ceramics, these materials contained the radio-isotopes with natural abundance ratio. After dental treatment, remained dental ceramics in the oral cavity is caused for human internal dose. In this study, the gross beta activity levels were measured in dental materials including 22 dental ceramics, 1 resin, and 2 cements for estimation of human internal dose. In dental ceramic samples, the obtained results showed that the gross beta activity level varied between 1.317 ~ 2.935 Bq/g and the gross beta activity level was 2.379 Bq/g. And the same level for dentine, opacious dentine, translucent and enamel were 2.479 Bq/g, 2.491 Bq/g, 2.470 Bq/g and 2.069 Bq/g, respectively. The gross beta activity level of temporary resin and cements were negligible, compare to the same level of dental ceramics. The high gross beta activity level observed in opacious dentine code OD-A4 is 2.935 Bq/g thus mainly ascribable to 40K. The reduction of the radiation level of natural radio-isotopes and the improvement of the dental ceramic materials should be required for internal dose reduction.
Studies on Bacterial and Fungal Contamination in the Herbal Medicines

The study has been done for about two months through June 2 to July 30 of 2010. The study subjects are three herbal-pharmaceutical companies located in Seoul. Each of them purchased thirteen types of medicinal herbs, then the study did analysis for microbial contamination status of bacteria and fungi. Here, the study focuses on settling out fundamental data bases regarding the investigation standards of microbial contamination. As comparing the study results with contamination limits of bacteria and fungi which are represented by
CFU/g in number respectively, the total percentage of fungi contamination which is 12.8% is higher than that of bacteria is only 7.7%. In the DNA homology analysis regarding 16S rRNA gene, 117 of colonization have been selected as study subjects. Including B. cereus composing of resistant spores, soil microbes account for approximately 96.6%. It indicates that it is important to establish collection and preservation systems in handling medicinal herbs. Also, it is critical to manage microbial contamination limits. In conclusion, the study proposes the needs to study on possible mingling of bacteria and fungi in manufacturing process, and microbial contamination status in medicinal herbs.
A Study on Stress of Family Caregivers Caring for Demented Elderly

The purpose of this study is to identify the differences of stress according to general characteristics and find stress related factors to reduce stress level of family caregivers for demented elderly. Subjects were 72 family caregivers for demented elderly in Seoul and Gyunggi province. Stress were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test and multiple regression according to gender, age, residence, marital status, number of family members, number of children, religion, education level, occupation, monthly income, relation with the demented elderly, caring years of the demented elderly and symptom of family caregivers for demented elderly. The results were as follows. First, the stress of family caregivers for demented elderly were significantly high in number of family members who live alone with demented elderly, education level with elementary school or below, monthly income with below 2,000,000 won, and the ones who have symptom by taking care of demented elderly. Second, stress related factors of family caregivers for the demented elderly were women, age between 60-69, number of family members that live alone with demented elderly, education level with elementary school or below, monthly income with between 1,000,000 - below 2,990,000 won, daughter-in-law and son of demented elderly. The family who live alone with demented elderly, family with low education level and low monthly income were important variables of family caregivers' stress for the demented elderly. Therefore it is assumed that support for family who living alone with demented elderly, family with low education level and low monthly income can reduce the stress of family caregivers for the demented elderly.
The Abnormal Rates of Blood Pressures and Blood Biochemical Properties with BMI in Health Checkup Examinees

The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of blood pressures, hematological and biochemical properties of blood according to the degree of obesity in health checkup examinees. Study subjects were 3,731 adults of 20 years and over (2,312 males, 1,419 females), who underwent health package check-up at the Korea Health Management Association from Jan. 2007 to Dec. 2009. As a result, the rates according to the degree of obesity of study subjects were 4.6% in low weight group, 44.3% in normal weight group, 25.0% in over weight group and 26.1% in obesity group. The over weight group were significantly higher in 40's age group than other groups, and the obesity group were significantly higher in 50's age group than other groups. The abnormal rates of SBP, DBP, TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, ALT, AST in male were significantly higher than that of female. With respect to degree of BMI, the abnormal rates of SBP, DBP, TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, ALT, AST, GGT, ALP were significantly increased with higher level of BMI. The age-adjusted odds ratio in the abnormal level of SBP, DBP, TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, AST, ALT and GGT were significantly increased in overweight group and obese group than that of normal weight group.

Twenty five compounds isopropylmethylphenyl benzenesulfonate derivatives of thymol (1), 4-isopropyl-3-methylphenol (2), 5-isopropyl-3-methylphenol (3), 4-isopropylphenol (4), and 2-isopropylphenol (5) derivatives were synthesized. These compounds were analyzed for their structural confirmation with IR, GC/MS, and
-NMR. Synthetic compounds were tested against phytopathogenic fungi activities such as Pyrcularia grisea, Rhizoctonia solani, Phytophthora infestans, Colletotrichum orbiculare, and Sphaerotheca fusca. 2-Isopropyl-5-methylphenyl o-toluenesulfonate (1a), 2-isopropylphenyl 2,4,5-trichloro-benzenesulfonate (5b) and 2-isopropylphenyl 2-methyl-5-nitrobenzenesulfonate (5e) showed a potent in vivo antifungal activity against Pyrcularia grisea, Phytophthora infestans and Sphaerotheca fusca.
The Analysis of Disease Distribution of patients discharged from a general hospital in a farming and fishing village region

This study examined the disease conditions of patients from a farming and fishing village area. In order to analyze the medical service utilization, the necessary data were obtained from established health and medical care service plans from medical treatment related organizations. The following results were based on the analysis of data from the medical records of 2,365 discharged patients during a six months period from July to December 2009 at a general hospital in an aging farming and fishing village area. Results: The sex of the patients investigated was male 55.3%, female 44.7%, and the most frequent age category at 42.0% was 70 years of age or older. Based on type of hospital admission, 65.5% of patients who were admitted were originally outpatients. Patients were admitted according to the following departments: 49.7% for the department of internal medicine, 16.7% for the department of orthopedics, and 13.8% for the department of neurosurgery. The average number of days hospitalized was 14.8 days. The following ranks the principal diagnosis among patients in this study: S00-T98 18.4%, J00-J99 15.5%, and I00-I99 11.5%. The average number of diagnosis listed per patient was 5.6. There was a statistically significant difference for the following general characteristics according to principal diagnosis list: gender, type of insurance, admission process, and age category distribution had statistically significant differences. Monthly distribution of principal diagnoses were statistically significant difference. There was a statistically significant difference for principal diagnosis lists according to the average number of days admitted and the number of diagnosis. The results of this study showed the types of disease from typical farming and fishing village regions as disease from external injury due to the work environment of farming and fishing village regions and excessive labor throughout the year, respiratory disease, and various chronic disease from aging.
Assessment on Quality of Life: Based on Oral Health Conditions

This study adopted two instruments, i.e. Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14: index of patient's subjective oral health impact) and Todai Health Index (THI: index of patient's subjective systemic health) The Purpose of this study was to determine potential effects of oral health upon systemic health and quality of life (QOL) and provide required basic reference data for developing oral diseases prevention program and public oral health improvement As a result, it may contribute to improving health and quality of life in local community. Analysis on OHIP for subjective oral health conditions revealed that there were significant differences among all categories of self-aware oral health conditions on statistic basis and good oral health group showed significantly higher total OHIP points (4.33) than any other group. Analysis on THI for subjective oral health conditions showed that there were significant differences among all categories of self-aware oral health conditions on statistical basis and very good oral health group got higher total THI points (3.83) than any other group. Analysis on QOL for subjective oral health conditions suggested that there were significant differences among all categories of self-aware oral health conditions but social category and good oral health group got highest total QOL points (3.39) of all groups.
Middle-Aged Women's Change of Health Experiences in Gymnastics Based on Korean Traditional Dance

The purpose of this study was to make a qualitative analysis of middle- aged women's change health experiences in gymnastics based on Korean traditional dance in an attempt to acquire some information on the impact of Korean-dance-based gymnastics on middle-aged women's climacteric symptoms and health promotion. The subjects in this study were nine selected middle-aged women who learned Korean-dance-based gymnastics at Korean-dance-based gymnastics academies and welfare centers in the city of D. After their interview was tape-recorded, the tape was transcribed, and the data were analyzed by utilizing qualitative analysis method. As a result, there appeared four categories of experiences: selecting Korean-dance-based gymnastics as the best way, a surprising and favorable change of health, confidence building resulting from the change in the body, and receiving the backing of family.
Basic RF Coils Used in Multi-channel RF Coil and Its B1 Field Distribution for Magnetic Resonance Imaging System

RF coil is an important component of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system and the performance of RF coil is one of major factors for high SNR images. Sensitivity and RF field uniformity are parameters for evaluating RF coil performance. Since the B1 field is induced by RF coil, MR signal is strongly affected by RF coil structure and arrangement. In receiving MR signal, the RF coil sensitivity to MR Signal is also determined by the induced B1 field of RF coil. Therefore, the spatial distribution of B1 field must be verified. In this work, we performed computer simulation of the basic RF coil structures using Matlab and verified their sensitivity and uniformity through their B1 field distribution. This work will be useful for the advanced multi-channel RF coil design.
Current Status of Dental Hygiene and Comparison of Some Curriculums in Korea and Japan

This study was conducted in order to promote students' interest in overseas employment and to present methods of improving education that suits globalization and internalization. From responses to individual written survey questionnaires answered by
grade 200 students who are studying dental hygiene at colleges in Daegu. They had most interested in Japan (60.3%), and they want to work abroad if they are given the changes (38.1%), which indicate that the dental hygiene majors have much interest and positive attitude in overseas employment. In Japan, there are 158 schools had department of dental hygiene (51 to 2 years, 101 to 3 years, 6 to 4 years). Especially, Kanto area has 25 private schools. When compared Korea and Japan, they similar were curriculum, 39 at 3 years, 44 at 4 years, respectively. The current national board dental hygiene examination system was 200 in total score, and 19 in total subjects. The 9 basic clinical courses including oral anatomy have 100 scores, and the 8 subjects including preclinical course have 50 scores, one dental assistant course have 50 scores. In Japan, 4 years pre-dental hygiene curriculum content provide certificate of dental hygiene after graduation. They provide additionally 'social worker' in Tokyo University, 'teacher in nursing' in Hirosima University. They scheduled the various foundational knowledge and skill such as competencies to communicate effectively, to participate community health program, and to make decisions regarding dental hygiene service.
Recognition and Attitudes on DNR of College Students (Focused on Comparison between Nursing and Non-Health Department College Students)

The object of this descriptive survey research was to provide basic information source for building objective standards of DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) that can be clinically applied, by analyzing college students' awareness and attitude toward DNR. The participants of the study were 1,267 students from one college of Daegu, South Korea. The structured survey questionnaire was used for data collection, and the survey was conducted from 1-31 July, 2010. The error and percentage was estimated by SPSS 17.0 program, and analyzed with
-test. As a result of comparing the nursing students' and non-health care major students' awareness and attitude toward DNR, the significant differences were found in the necessity of DNR, reason for supporting DNR, reason for opposing DNR, and DNR decision-maker, among the awareness dimension; among the attitude dimension, significant differences were found in implication of family DNR and self-DNR. Comparing the nursing students' and non-health care major students' awareness toward DNR related information provision, researchers have found significant differences in the necessity of giving information on DNR, timing of the DNR information provision, result of the DNR-related information provision, and guidelines for the DNR information provision. In terms of the difference in DNR's necessity recognition by the demographic information, the significant differences existed based on the religion and the history of blood donation; in terms of the differences in attitude toward DNR decision-maker, the differences were found on the religion and the number of siblings. For the attitude toward family member's DNR, the significant differences existed for the sex, age, economic status, religion, the number of siblings, the history of familial illness and death, and experience of blood donation; the attitude toward the DNR for the self was significantly differed by the sex, economic status, the number of siblings, and the history of familial illness and death. To establish the standards for DNR based on the study, we suggest more well-designed future studies.
Effect of Acanthopanax extract on the DNA and erythrocyte damage induced by herbicides

In order to investigate whether the ethanol extract of Acanthopanax sp. might inhibit herbicide-induced DNA damage and erythrocyte damage, the suppression of the oxidative DNA damage of lymphocyte and erythrocyte damage in the presence of the extract were evaluated by comet assay and hemolysis assay, respectively. Phenoxy herbicides, named 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and 2,4,5-T (2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and bipyridyl herbicide paraquat induced oxidative DNA damages of lymphocytes. However, the oxidative DNA damage by 2,4-D, 2,4,5-T or paraquat was inhibited in vitro upon treating Acanthopanax extract. Moreover, the erythrocyte damage was also suppressed in vitro by Acanthopanax extract treatment.
Analysis of the positive word-of-mouth, Quality of medical service and customer satisfaction of patients in dental clinics

Dental health care in modern society has gradually been developing with patients'expectation, desire, and medical knowledge according to the changes in the medical industry. Dental marketing strategy is necessary to construct a better dental health environment in order to cope with customers' changes and desire. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the positive comments by word-of-mouth experience, quality of dental clinic service and customer satisfaction among dental patients. The study surveyed 5oo subjects being treated at 6 dental clinics in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. It was conducted from March 22 to April 9, 2010. The subject groups with a positive experience through word - of - mouth who had a perception about the quality of dental clinic service (p<.001) and customer satisfaction (p<.001) were higher than other groups who had no comments on their dental treatment and clinics. The results showed that there was a correlation(r=. 852, p<.001) between the positive comments by word-of- mouthabout the quality of dental clinics service and customer satisfaction. The perception of dental clinic service and patients' satisfaction with positive comments by word of mouth was highly recognized by older and more experienced patients of dental treatment. Therefore, the results suggest that empirical information on important factors about strategic marketing lead to positive comments by word of mouth experience for patients in dental clinics.
The Experiences of Thyroid Cancer Patients Receiving Radioactive Iodine Therapy

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceived difficulties during both pre-treatment period and admission period for radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT), the level of information about RAIT provided by medical staffs and the satisfaction of RAIT process in thyroid cancer patients receiving RAIT. Participants were 165 thyroid cancer patients, who had total thyroidectomy and had been offered RAIT. The data were collected using structured questionnaire and open-ended questions and analyzed by descriptive statistics and content analysis. The most frequent perceived difficulties of RAIT was associated with thyroid specific symptoms during both pre-RAIT period and RAIT admission period(38.2% vs 43.0%). The rating of RAIT information provided by medical staffs was evaluated as over moderate level(mean
). The RAIT process satisfaction was investigated as moderate level(mean
). the satisfaction of RAIT was the highest in medical attention and coping procedure (mean
) however it was the lowest in adequacy of RAIT information(mean

Thus the nursing intervention program for thyroid cancer patient undergoing RAIT should be developed to support needs of thyroid cancer patients related to thyroid specific symptoms and to improve patients' understanding about RAIT procedure so that patients have competence to participate in therapeutic activities efficiently.
Differences in the concepts and objectives of physical education by the body image and gender of middle school students

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in perception levels of goals and concepts of physical education by the body image and gender of middle school students. Among 461 middle students randomly selected by a multistaged cluster sampling technique, 433 students(boys 267, girls 166) filled out questionnaires consisted of Figure Rating Scale and modified ones. To know the differences in the perception levels of goal and concept of physical education by sex, t-test was utilized. In order to find out the differences in the perception levels of goal and concept of physical education by body image, ANOVA was performed using the SPSS Windows 12.0. The results of this study revealed that boys had higher level of goal and concept of physical education than girls. Second, middle school students classified into normal body image was higher level of goal and concept of physical education that other body images such as very thin, thin, very obese, and obese ones. The results of this study indicated that curriculum of physical education focused on fragmentation of health, psychomotor, cognitive, affective, leisure, holistic human should make girls understand thoroughly and deeply goals and concepts of physical education and ideal body image.
What kind of specialized services attract patients?

Background: Competition among hospitals has intensified, because hospitals and beds are oversupplying and the global medical market has opened in Korea. Method: we developed questionnaires of the patient's satisfaction about 20 items. We surveyed 297 out-patients and 302 in-patients. We analyzed the descriptive statistics and regression by SPSS(Version 17) and Excel. Results: The relations with the patient's loyalty and the specialized hospital service are 1) Recommend to other person: FHR use and the assistant for follow-up treatment were related positively for out-patient and PHR and FHR use were related positively for out-patient. 2) Revisiting: PHR use and the need of an assistant for follow-up patients were related for them and the PayTV were negatively related. Conclusion: FHR, PHR and assistant system for follow-up patient's condition were very useful factors to increase patient's loyalty.

Security of the electronic commercial transaction especially through the information communication network is gaining its significance due to rapid development of information and communication related fields. For that, some kind of cryptographic algorithm is already in use for the smart card. However, the growing needs of handling multimedia and real time communication bring the smart card into more stringent use of its resources. Analysis of Return Current by Common Earth on Electrical Line of the Gyeongbu Line

Electrical Railroads provide electric power, which can operate vehicles, via feeder wires. And the supplied current returns to the transformer substation through lines and ground net. In domestic cases, the configuration of ground net affecting such a return current mostly uses an exclusive earth method. However, along with the introduction to Gyeongbu HSL(High Speed Line), the concept of Common Earth was applied to Electrical Railroads. In this paper, based on the return currents analyzed to be measured in the electrified sections for the operation of High Speed Rails in existing lines, we analyze the relations between earth methods and return currents in electrified sections. For analysis, we utilize the measured values of return currents measured in track circuits in Gyeongbu HSL, and predictive values of those compared to the earth methods between Gyeongbu HSL and the existing electrified sections.

In this paper, a Step-down CMOS DC-DC Converter using low power switched capacitor method is designed in a 0.5
technology for the integration of devices. Conventional DC-DC converter is used inductor that can store energy in a magnetic field but have low efficiency because power consumption is caused by magnetic flux. And there were problems with size, weight and price to integrate chip. In this paper, a proposed Inductorless step-down CMOS DC-DC converter of low power using SC method is designed in a 0.5um technology to solve these problems. Designed DC-DC converter have 96% power efficiency with 200kHz frequency by using cadence simulation.
An Energy Saving Method Using Cluster Group Model in Wireless Sensor Networks

Clustering method in wireless sensor network is the technique that forms the cluster to aggregate the data and transmit them at the same time that they can use the energy efficiently. Even though cluster group model is based on clustering, it differs from previous method that reducing the total energy consumption by separating energy overload to cluster group head and cluster head. In this thesis, I calculate the optimal cluster group number and cluster number in this kind of cluster group model according to threshold of energy consumption model. By using that I can minimize the total energy consumption in sensor network and maximize the network lifetime. I also show that proposed cluster group model is better than previous clustering method at the point of network energy efficiency.
A Hetero-Mirroring Scheme to Improve I/O Performance of High-Speed Hybrid Storage

A flash-memory-based SSDs(Solid State Disks) are one of the best media to support portable and desktop computers' storage devices. Their features include non-volatility, low power consumption, and fast access time for read operations, which are sufficient to present flash memories as major database storage components for desktop and server computers. However, we need to improve traditional storage management schemes based on HDD(Hard Disk Drive) and RAID(Redundant array of independent disks) due to the relatively slow or freezing characteristics of write operations of SSDs, as compared to fast read operations. In order to achieve this goal, we propose a new storage management scheme called Hetero-Mirroring based on traditional HDD mirroring scheme. Hetero-Mirroring-based scheme improves RAID-1 operation performance by balancing write-workloads and delaying write operations to avoid SSD freezing. Our test results show that our scheme significantly reduces the write operation overheads and freezing overheads, and improves the performance of traditional SSD-RAID-1 scheme by 18 percent, and the response time of the scheme by 38 percent.
Development of an integrated amplifier for MATV/Satellite Broadcasting

Recently n Korea, the House of Commons and terrestrial broadcasting facilities integrated with FM radio and the satellite compulsory was amended to transfer MATV(Master Antenna Television) adjusted by SMATV(Satellite Master Antenna Television). While the SMATV was accepted by default in most other countries, our county did not accept it as the default for broadcast. Because domestic cable and satellite television service providers are conflicts with their interest. bAs a result, the hybrid amplifier for SMATV technology development and volume production for the state is insufficient. Therefore, terrestrial television broadcast bands (54 ~ 806Mhz) and FM radio broadcast band (88 ~ 108Mhz) band satellite with (950 ~ 2150Mhz) to amplify the development of a broadband amplifier with subsequent resolution of problems is also presented in this study.
Precision Analysis of the STOMP(FW) Algorithm According to the Spatial Conceptual Hierarchy

Most of the existing pattern mining techniques are capable of searching patterns according to the continuous change of the spatial information of an object but there is no constraint on the spatial information that must be included in the extracted pattern. Thus, the existing techniques are not applicable to the optimal path search between specific nodes or path prediction considering the nodes that a moving object is required to round during a unit time. In this paper, the precision of the path search according to the spatial hierarchy is analyzed using the Spatial-Temporal Optimal Moving Pattern(with Frequency & Weight) (STOPM(FW)) algorithm which searches for the optimal moving path by considering the most frequent pattern and other weighted factors such as time and cost. The result of analysis shows that the database retrieval time is minimized through the reduction of retrieval range applying with the spatial constraints. Also, the optimal moving pattern is efficiently obtained by considering whether the moving pattern is included in each hierarchical spatial scope of the spatial hierarchy or not.
Simulator Development for LED Display Design

In this paper, an image based LED design simulator is proposed to reduce LED design cost mostly contingent on a design expert. Current techniques about LED design schemes have mostly treated text-based LED simulators. The proposed method is to provide novel and easy simulator for LED designers. At first, image filters including histogram equalization, bicubic interpolation. and scaling are employed. Color mapping and special effects are added as well. Experimental results classified into several categories along with running times are shown to validate the proposed methods.
Resource Allocation and Handoff for Mobile Multimedia Service

This paper proposes a scheme to maximize traffic capacity for supporting mobile multimedia services. For a handoff session, we suggest a novel resource reservation scheme to adjust the number of reserved resources in macrocell, depending on the number of saturated microcells. The proposed schemes are able to accommodate much more mobile sessions in the microcell and significantly reduce the blocking probability in the macrocell at the expense of the small increment of a forced termination in the microcell. Therefore, our system is more flexible to the increase of traffic in macrocell.

This paper introduces the complex-version of an Euclidean distance minimization algorithm based on a set of delta functions. The algorithm is analyzed to be able to compensate inherently the channel phase distortion caused by inferior complex channels. Also this algorithm has a relatively small size of Gaussian kernel compared to the conventional method of using a randomly generated symbol set. This characteristic implies that the information potential between desired symbol and output is higher so that the algorithm forces output more strongly to gather close to the desired symbol. Based on 16 QAM system and phase distorted complex-channel models, mean squared error (MSE) performance and concentration performance of output symbol points are evaluated. Simulation results show that the algorithm compensates channel phase distortion effectively in constellation performance and about 5 dB enhancement in steady state MSE performance.
Partition-based Operator Sharing Scheme for Spatio-temporal Data Stream Processing

In ubiquitous environments, many continuous query processing techniques make use of operator network and sharing methods on continuous data stream generated from various sensors. Since similar continuous queries with the location information intensively occur in specific regions, we suggest a new operator sharing method based on grid partition for the spatial continuous query processing for location-based applications. Due to the proposed method shares moving objects by the given grid cell without sharing spatial operators individually, our approach can not only share spatial operators including similar conditions, but also increase the query processing performance and the utilization of memory by reducing the frequency of use of spatial operators.
An Efficient Authentication Mechanism Strengthen the Privacy Protection in 3G Network

As communication technologies are developed and variety of services to mobile devices are provided, mobile users is rapidly increasing every year. However, mobile services running on wireless network environment are exposed to various security threats, such as illegal tampering, eavesdropping, and disguising identity. Accordingly, the secure mobile communications services to 3GPP were established that the standard for 3GPP-AKA specified authentication and key agreement. But in the standard, sequence number synchronization problem using false base station attack and privacy problem were discovered through related researches. In this paper, we propose an efficient authentication mechanism for enhanced privacy protection in the 3G network. We solve the sequence number synchronization existing 3GPP authentication scheme using timestamp and strengthen a privacy problem using secret token. In addition, the proposed scheme can improve the bandwidth consumption between serving network and home network and the problem of authentication data overhead for the serving network because it uses only one authentication vector.
A Method for Quality Evaluation of Firewall

International standard is the documents that is constructed based on general and common characteristics of software. Thus, it is necessary to consider the characteristics of product and optimize the evaluation method by using related standard to adapt to some specific knowledge information security products. Also, because rapid development of software field was obliged to change the international standard, the content and construction of standard has changed, it is necessary to construct the evaluation method with this change. In this paper, we developed the evaluation model that can support the quality enhancement by evaluating the quality level and extracting the improvement method of firewall. For this, we surveyed and analyzed the trend and the technical elements of firewall and considering the general quality requirements and unique quality requirements, and proposed the quality evaluation model and method.

The Paper describes the methodology for Software Architecture Design. The key idea is to find the interfaces between the actors, modules, and communicating entities, and use them to identify the software design elements. The identified interfaces and modules are further used to find new modules and interfaces until the every design elements are found and located in the software architecture. This method starts the architecture design with finding the interfaces and enables the natural design procedure by relating the cause and results of the design. It also makes use of not only 5 architectural views for analysis and design of the software, but also concept of architecture patterns in design procedure. Especially, this method is also useful for the novice of the software architecture design.

An implementation of NPC AI(artifical intelligence) is similar with real world's flocking can increase fun factor of game. To this end, we design fish flocking patten of analyzed real world, implement using Ogre engine in this paper. To determine the usefulness of implemented fish flocking, we compare fish flocking in real world with implemented fish flocking. Implemented behavioral patterns of fish flocking show similar behavioral patterns of fish flocking in real world.
A Research on Enhancement of Text Categorization Performance by using Okapi BM25 Word Weight Method

Text categorization is one of important features in information searching system which classifies documents according to some criteria. The general method of categorization performs the classification of the target documents by eliciting important index words and providing the weight on them. Therefore, the effectiveness of algorithm is so important since performance and correctness of text categorization totally depends on such algorithm. In this paper, an enhanced method for text categorization by improving word weighting technique is introduced. A method called Okapi BM25 has been proved its effectiveness from some information retrieval engines. We applied Okapi BM25 and showed its good performance in the categorization. Various other words weights methods are compared: TF-IDF, TF-ICF and TF-ISF. The target documents used for this experiment is Reuter-21578, and SVM and KNN algorithms are used. Finally, modified Okapi BM25 shows the most excellent performance.
AHP-Based Determination of Warning Grade in a Warranty Claims

Two perspectives on developing better decision capabilities for a warranty system can be identified: one involving the inclusion of a 'learning' module and the other the inclusion of a 'prioritization' capability. This paper demonstrates how a warning process can be included in a warranty system by coupling with a neural network's learning capabilities. In addition to the neural network, a method is employed for assigning priorities to warning criteria by using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Thus, it is possible to construct an integrated system with three components: the warranty system, the AHP module, and the neural network system. A case study is provided to enhance the accuracy of warning/detection judgment in a warranty system for automobile companies, having many factors related to the warranty system.

This paper is related to the access to the control platform who manages their resources on the virtual environment. The computing performance of hardware supersedes the computing performance human demands. In this case, making the platform on the virtual computing environment has been developed for the usage of computing resource's residues which is available. This virtual computing environment is quite similar with the real environment in aspect of some functions but is quite different with that in aspect of the real configurations. This paper found that the virtual computing environment has another problems besides the problems the real computer might be happening. This paper found that the virtual environment needs the proper control platform. This paper will suggest a control platform for managing the virtual computing environment properly.
Extraction of full body size parameters for personalized recommendation module

Anthropometry has been broadly explored in various fields including automobile industry, home electronic appliances, medical appliances and sports goods with aiming at reaching satisfaction to consumer's need and efficiency. However, current technologies to measure a human body still have barriers in which the methods mostly seem to be contingent on expensive devices such as scanner and digital measuring instruments and to be directly touchable to the body when obtaining body size.. Therefore, in this paper, we present a general method to automatically extract size of body from a real body image acquired from a camera and to utilize it into recommend systems including clothing and bicycle fitting. At first, Haar-like features and AdaBoost algorithm are employed to detect body position. Then features of body can be recognized using AAM. Finally clothing and bicycle recommending modules have been implemented and experimented to validate the proposed method.
Development of an Auto ABLB Test Software

ABLB(Alternate Binaural Loudness Balance) test is one of the medical assessments to diagnose detailed lesion of sensory-neural hearing loss based on a recruitment phenomenon. This paper describes an Auto ABLB test software. This software automatically decides test frequency and intensity of first test tone. And it supports an automatic algorithm that analyses the subject's reponses in the current step and then decides intensity of tone provided in next step. Also, this software supports an interface to control and monitor subject's ABLB test. The assessment result is represented by a ladder diagram. The output of this software has been verified using a digital oscilloscope.
Efficient Contrast Enhancement Using Histogram Specification

In this paper, an efficient contrast enhancement algorithm using histogram specification is proposed. Histogram equalization and its modified methods have been effective techniques for contrast enhancement. However, they often result in excessive contrast enhancement. Besides conventional histogram specification also has a problem to get the desired histogram. We propose a method that utilizes a simple high frequency filter to get the desired histogram. The proposed technique not only produces better visual results than conventional contrast enhancement techniques, but is also adaptively adjusted to the statistical characteristics of the image.

Determining Improvement Priorities of Barrier Free Components for Beaches through M-IPA

A number of cities are committed to enhancing the barrier-free (BF) environments. However, no attempts have been made to examine the BF environment design concept by accounting for the universal BF components, which should be improved for providing both disabled people and non-disabled people with better BF environments. With this challenge in mind, this study determines the improvement priorities of BF components for beaches in the city of Busan by investigating the results of satisfaction survey, which was administered to disabled and non-disabled visitors. The modified importance-performance analysis (M-IPA) results show that "sanitation facilities" are the universal BF components having the highest improvement priority. The analysis results also indicate that "access facilities" have the second highest improvement priority for disabled people while "amenity facilities" have the second highest improvement priority for non-disabled people. It is highly expected that the suggested improvement priorities of BF components can be used for policy makers to develop more flexible plans when designing the BF beach.
A Change of Peak Outflows due to Decision of Flow Path in Storm Sewer Network

In the previous researches for storm sewer design, the flow paths in overall network were determined to minimize the construction cost and then, it was not considered the superposition effect of runoff hydrographs in the sewer pipes. However, in this research, the flow paths are determined considering the superposition effect to reduce the inundation risk by controlling and distributing the flows in the sewer pipes. This is accomplished by distributing the inflows that enter into each junction by changing the flow path in which pipes are connected between junctions. In this paper, the superposition effect and peak outflows at outlet were analyzed considering the changes of the flow paths in the sewer network. Then, the flow paths are determined using genetic algorithm and the objective function is to minimize the peak outflow at outlet. As the applied result for the sample sewer network, the difference between maximum and minimum peak outflows which are caused by the change of flow path was about 5.6% for the design rainfall event of 10 years frequency with 30 min. duration. Also, the typhoon 'Rusa' which occurred at 2002 was applied to verify the reduction of inundation risk for the excessive rainfall, and then, the amount of overflows was reduced to about 31%.
Characteristics of Waste Lime and Soil Mixture for Reusing of Roadbed Embanking Material

Currently about 3.2 millon tons of waste lime are accumulated and annually 100,000 tons are producted. This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of soil mixed with waste lime for reusing of roadbed embanking material. Waste lime used in this study is producted as a by-product in the manufacturing process of making
from local chemical factory in Incheon. In this study, the feasible reuse of waste lime mixed with granite weathered soil, clay, crushed rock was investigated through laboratory tests including specific gravity test, sieve analysis, hydrometer analysis, atterberg limit test, compaction test, unconfined compressive test, CBR test, permeability test, shear test, and abrasion test. The mixing rate is granite weathered soil, clay, crushed rock 80 % respectively and waste lime 20 % by weight. From the test results, it is shown that the waste lime and soil mixtures satisfy the criteria as road embanking material specification.
A Study on the Street Revitalization for Downtown Regeneration -Focused on the Myeong-dong Fashion Street in Cheonan City-

This study is an attempt to seek ways to revitalize the main streets in local city with regard to urban regeneration. It focuses on the case of Myeong-dong Fashion Street located in front of Cheonan Station, which recently lost its vitality. In order to explore causes of the decline and solutions for restore, this paper investigate the concerned urban area by approaching through three different aspects: physical and environmental aspects, social and economic aspects, historic and cultural aspects. In addition, the street visitors were surveyed on their visiting patterns, priorities and discontents about the components of street, and preferences for its restoring, etc. The investigation resulted in following findings and proposals. In physical and environmental dimension, it is needed to create legal incentives for encouraging local residents to develop their own district, and suggested to plan green space for relaxation and cultural arts space by using existing buildings, along with the expansion of public parking. In regard of social economic aspects, it is proposed to give each street specialized commercial theme. At the historic and cultural level, it is suggested to plan the pedestrian network which links the Fashion Street with surrounding historic elements.
Behavior of Elbows with Ovalization of the Tangential Pipes

The effects of the ovalization of the tangential pipes to the elbows are analyzed. The geometric nonlinear behaviors of the elbows are shown with the element capable of ovalization. The relationships between the length of the tangential pipes in the models and the bend angles of the elbows are analyzed to supplement the ASME code. And the proper length of the tangential pipes for the elbow models are suggested.
A Study on the Role Division in Team Projects of Architectural Design

This study chiefly aims to find out the efficient ways of organizing teams of architectural design projects. In order to reach this goal, this study analyzed (1) specialties of students' projects during semesters in architectural design studios, (2) teaching methods relevant to architectural design education, (3) division of role play in architectural studios and organizing method that students prefer. Besides, in order to clarify the principles of practical project team organization and to find out more efficient methods in team organization, this study executed archival research on (1) specialties of team organization rules and principles in architectural firms, (2) types and merits of projects teams, (3) efficient methods of dividing roles. For the students project of the studio, it is desirable to switch the roles of team leader and staff members of the team to make members' feeling of participating the decision making of the project progress. In architectural design team, since the high productivity was valued beyond individual preferences, the team organization and and work split was done on the basis of (1) experiences, (2) design ability, (3) schedule of the project, etc. However, for the continuous motivation and enthusiasm for the firms, it is required to study efficient ways of team organization.
An Empirical Study on the Relationship between Subway Trips and Characteristics of Subway Catchment Area.

Although numerous studies have analyzed the relationship between subway travel demand (STD) and various characteristics of subway catchment area (SCA), a few studies examined the relationship between STD and the structure of pedestrian networks within each SCA. Hence, this study evaluates the structure of pedestrian networks within 79 SCAs in the city of Busan using Space syntax and investigates the relationship between STD and several characteristics of SCA including the spatial structure of pedestrian network. The analysis results show that the spatial integration of pedestrian networks within the SCAs, which represents the magnitudes of walking accessibility to subway station, is positively associated with STD among the three spatial indexes such as integration, connectivity, and intelligibility. In addition, the results show that STD significantly increases as the number of travel gathering facilities and the average floor area ratio within the SCAs increase. This study ultimately corroborates that designing the grid pedestrian network and assigning the travel gathering facilities to the compact buildings within SCAs are needed to ameliorate the spatial structure of SCA in the city of Busan as transit-oriented development system.
Buckling Analysis of Laminated Composite Plates under the In-plane Compression and Shear Loadings

In this paper, we investigate the buckling analysis of laminated composite plates, using a improved assumed natural strain shell element. In order to overcome membrane and shear locking phenomena, the assumed natural strain method is used. The eigenvalues of the laminated composite plates are calculated by varying the width-thickness ratio and angle of fiber. To improve an shell element for buckling analysis, the new combination of sampling points for assumed natural strain method was applied and the refined first-order shear deformation theory which allows the shear deformation without shear correction factor. In order to validate the present solutions, the reference solutions are used and discussed. The results of laminated composite plates under the in-plane shear loading may be the benchmark test for the buckling analysis.
Site-Suitability Analysis Using Spatial Information Analysis

Selecting proper location for complex facility with special purpose need comprehensive consideration on the condition and surrounding environment. Especially, in case of living space for human, lighting, ventilation, efficiency in land use, etc. are important elements. Diverse 3D analysis through 3D topography modeling and virtual simulation is necessary for this. Now, it can be processed with relatively inexpensive cost since high resolution satellite image essential in topography modeling is provided with domestic technology through Arirang No. 2 satellite (KOMPSAT2). In this study, several candidate sites is selected for complex planning with special purpose and analysis on proper location was performed using the 3D topography modeling and land information. For this, land analysis, land price calculation, slope analysis and aspect analysis have been carried out. As a result of arranging the evaluation index for each candidate site and attempting the quantitative evaluation, proper location could be selected efficiently and reasonably.
Study on Rheological Properties of HBA/HNA Thermotropic Liquid Crystalline Polymer

Rheological measurement of a thermotropic liquid crystalline poymer (TLCP) is not an easy task since their rheological responses are strongly influenced by a thermal history during a processing and thus the reproducibility of the measurement is poor. In order to find out a cause for the strong influence of the thermal history, rheological measurements and DSC observations of the TLCP having various thermal histories were carried out. It was observed that the TLCP used in this study shows liquid-like behavior at a temperature above a crystal-nematic transition temperature (
), but at the same time crystallization can occur at this temperature range and as a consequence the viscosity of the polymer continuously increases. When the samples are heated beyond the
, all crystals thus formed and the thermal histories were observed to disappear. Crystallization rate of the samples annealed above
was very low at even the lowed temperature (
). Therefore, it is concluded that rheological measurements of TLCP used in this study must be performed after annealed above the nematic-isotropic transition temperature for better reproducibility.
