GaN Epitaxy with PA-MBE on HF Cleaned Cobalt-silicide Buffer Layer

We fabricated 10 nm-thick cobalt silicide(
) as a buffer layer on a p-type Si(100) substrate to investigate the possibility of GaN epitaxial growth on
substrates. We deposited 500 nm-GaN on the cobalt silicide buffer layer at low temperature with a PA-MBE (plasma assisted-molecular beam epitaxy) after the
substrates were cleaned by HF solution. An optical microscopy, AFM, TEM, and HR-XRD (high resolution X-ray diffractometer) were employed to determine the GaN epitaxy. For the GaN samples without HF cleaning, they showed no GaN epitaxial growth. For the GaN samples with HF cleaning, they showed
-thick GaN epitaxial growth due to surface etching of the silicide layers. Through XRD
-scan of GaN <0002> direction, we confirmed the cyrstallinity of GaN epitaxy is
which is comparable with that of sapphire substrate. Our result implied that
substrate would be a good buffer and substrate for GaN epitaxial growth.

This paper describes the design and performance of a hovering AUV 'NOAH' constructed at Jeju National University. We analyse the dynamic performance of NOAH using simulation program and carry out depth control test at small basin. The main purpose of NOAH is to carry out fundamental tests on its attitude control and position control. Its configuration is similar to general ROV appearance for underwater works and dimension is
. It has 4 thrusters of 450watt for longitudinal/lateral/vertical propulsion and is equipped with a pressure sensor for measuring water depth and a magnetic compass for measuring heading angle. The navigation of the vehicle is controlled by an on-board Pentium III-class computer, which runs with the help of the Windows XP operating system. These give us an ideal environment for developing various algorithm which are needed for developing and advanced hovering AUV.
A Research on the improvement scheme for manufacturing bronze warm forging die through environment-friendly workshop

In the process of warm forging, billet is heated up to
and located in the upper part of die block impression. The scattered oxidized scale may cause workers burn and shortening of die life sticking to the die block impression. The separating materials sprayed in die block cause harmful dust, harmful mist, fume, and bad odor which contaminate workshop environment. The process is classified as one of the avoided jobs and make the planned output achievement difficult. Development of an elimination device to clear out the contaminating materials in the workshop and improvement of the unsatisfactory maintenance method to fix the abrasion of die block impression which delays the dead line, cost increases needs to be developed. In this research, I tried to solve the problems caused in warm forging of bronze pipe joint such as the billet heating process, die maintenance, and manufacturing cost through improvement of warming forging manufacturing method and die maintenance method and eliminating harmful gas which will make the workshop more environment friendly.
Statistical Evaluation for Residual Strength of Impacted Composite Materials

This study is experimentally performed to evaluate the strength reduction behavior and its statistical properties of plain woven glass/epoxy composites. The results indicate that the major impact damage of plain woven glass/epoxy composites is the fiber breakage and matrix crack, whereas the dominant impact damage of unidirectional carbon/epoxy laminates is the delamination, which depends on the stacking sequence. The residual strength prediction models, previously proposed on unidirectional laminates, are applied to evaluate the residual strength of plain woven glass/epoxy composites with impact damage. Among these models, the results by Caprino and Avva's model have a good agreement with the experimental results. To investigate the variability of residual strength of the impacted composite materials, a statistical model was proposed and its results were in conformance with the experimental results regardless of their thickness.
Dynamic Analysis of a Rigid Body Traveling on the Rotating Shaft

The analysis of rigid body traveling along the rotating Timoshenko shaft has been a topic of interest. The problem arose from the observations that as a structure is subjected to moving loads, dynamic deflection as well as stresses can be significantly higher than those for static loads. The establishment of analytical method for the development and maintenance of performance is required in the fields of the machining operations and the position control using ball screw. The equations of motion for the rotating shaft subjected to the two moving forces are derived by using Hamilton's principle. Influence of system parameters such as the speed ratio, the mass ratio and the Rayleigh coefficient is discussed on the response of the moving system.
Study on Vibrated Cutting Blade with Hinge Mechanism

Rapid advance in information technology requires high performance devices with compact size. Integrated multi-layer electronic element with different functions enables those compact devices to possess various performances and powerful capabilities. In mass production, the multi-layer electronic element is manufactured as a bulk type with a large number of parts for productivity. However, this may cause the electronic part to be damaged in the cutting process of the bulk elements to separate into each part. Therefore the cutting performance of multi-layer element bulk is playing an important role in the view of production efficiency. This study focuses on the cutting characteristics of multi-layer electronic elements. In order to increase the efficiency, the vibration cutting method was applied to the blade cutting machine. Flexure hinge structure, which is an physical amplifier of increasing displacement, was attached to the vibration cutting device for machining efficiency. The behaviors of flexure hinge were modeled with Lagrange equation and simulated with finite element method (FEM). Performance of hinge structure was verified by experimental modal analysis (EMA) for hinge structure to be tuned to the specific mode of vibrations. Cutting experiments of multi-layer elements were conducted with the proposed vibrating cutting module, and the characteristics was analyzed.
Flow Characteristics of R600a in an Adiabatic Capillary Tube

In this paper, flow characteristics of R600a in an adiabatic capillary tube were investigated employing the homogeneous flow model. The model is based on fundamental equations of mass, energy and momentum which are solved simultaneously. Two friction factors(Churchill) and viscosity(McAdams) are comparatively used to investigate the flow characteristics. Thermodynamic and transport properties of R600a are calculated employing EES property code. Flow characteristics analysis of R600a in an adiabatic capillary tube is presented to offer the basic design data for the operating parameters. The operating parameters considered in this study include condensation temperature, evaporation temperature, subcooling degree and inner diameter tube of the adiabatic capillary tube. The main results were summarized as follows: condensation and evaporation temperature, inlet subcooling degree and inner diameter tube of an adiabatic capillary tube using R600a have an effect on length of an adiabatic capillary tube. The length of an adiabatic capillary tube using R600a is expressed to the correlation shown in Eq. (15).

The high-efficiency induction motor reduces the generation loss of conventional induction motors and saves energy with less electricity consumed, enabling the return of initial facilities investments on a shorter-term basis due to its low operation cost and allowing the extension of the life of the motor. Poscore has entered the phase of development of high-efficiency induction motor based on its experiences to date in cooperation with electricity researchers. This paper examines the development of the small motor die for the high-efficiency induction motor.
Simple Digital LCD Backlight Inverter using a Single-chip Microcontroller

This paper presents a simple digital LCD backlight inverter using a single-chip microcontroller. The proposed inverter reduces the ignition voltage and eliminates the current spikes and hence improves the ignition behavior of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp(CCFL). Thus it increases the CCFL's life span. This is achieved by implementing a digital dimming control algorithm, that contains the soft-starting algorithm, all on a single-chip microcontroller. The inverter utilizes the full-bridge resonant circuit topology. The design example along with a simple analysis for the inverter is shown, and the experimental results of the designed prototype results in close agreement with the theoretical analysis and explanation. The overall system's power efficiency is approximately 85%. Compared with conventional inverters, the ignition voltage is reduced by around 30% without any lamp current spike occurring during the dimming control operation.
A Study on the Interference of Harmonic Frequency during the Change of Urban Transit's Signalling Systems

The railway signalling system plays an essential role in the safe and efficient train operation as serving control functions of train operation intervals and train routes. The reliability and safety of the system are very important because the failure of the railway signalling system can lead to train collision or derailment as well as train operation stop. Until now, in railway signalling system the conventional wayside signal mode has been used generally. There are, however, the risk of accidents such as human mistakes caused by that the driver identifies the signal lamp status and controls train speed with the naked eye. It is also necessary to refurbish the obsolete system. Thereby, It is being effective that the onboard signal mode has been recently introduced and applied in order to transmit the speed control information to train by using the computer and communication equipment. It is necessary to switch over the system in a way while providing passengers with an operation service to replace the obsolete signal system. In this paper, we verify the cases through trial assessment which are solved by the way of adding specific functionalities in the problems of interference among the procedure of switch-over processes and a serial of processes for system verification while a train is operated in the new system in parallel to the existing system.
A study on High Frequency DC-DC Converter Drive using a Piezoelectric Transformer

Recently, as the piezoelectric transformer technology develops, piezoelectric transformer may become a variable alternative to magnetic transformers in various applications. Because it was have to favorable characteristics such as electromagnetic-noise free, compact size, higher efficiency, and superior power density, linkage flux, noiseless, etc. its resonance frequency was used to output waveform of a sine wave. In this paper, the switching mode power supply of about 87.2[KHz] is driven by the multilayer thickness vibration mode piezoelectric transformer and the DC to DC converter drive circuit using an electrical equivalent circuit is proposed. Also, it was possible to drive power source device of the high-luminance LED by propose circuits.
Analysis of effect of parasitic schottky diode on sense amplifier in DDI DRAM

We propose the equivalent circuit model including all parasitic components in input gate of sense amplifier of DDI DRAM with butting contact structure. We analysed the effect of parasitic schottky diode by using the proposed model in the operation of sense amplifier. The cause of single side fail and the temperature dependence of fail rate in DDI DRAM are due to creation of the parasitic schottky diode in input gate of sense amplifier. The parasitic schottky diode cause the voltage drop in input gate, and result in decreasing noise margin of sense amplifier. therefore single side fail rate increase.
An analysis of the effectiveness for an anti-ARM technique using decoy antennas

This paper describes an analysis of the effectiveness for an anti-ARM technique to protect a radar system. We investigate the optimum deployment of decoy antennas which are widely using for anti-ARM and the electromagnetic field at the ARM receiver. To verify the effect of decoy antennas, we analyze the field intensity and phase at the receiver and develop a numerical simulation program using Matlab. We conduct an analysis of ARM attack in case of using multiple decoy antennas and these results can be used to decide the optimum positions of the decoys for anti-ARM.
Current Unbalance Improved Half-bridge LLC Resonant Converter using the Two Transformers

This paper presents current unbalance improved half-bridge LLC resonant converter using the two transformers with different leakage inductances. The proposed converter resonates with the leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance of the transformer and the resonant capacitance. The converter operates in a wide load range and satisfies the zero voltage switching even under the light load. The series-parallel connected two transformers act as the transformers or the resonant inductances according to the operational modes, and the separate output filter inductance in the transformer secondary is not needed using the leakage inductance. The current unbalance of the secondary diode rectifier is improved using the different leakage inductances of the two transformers and the asymmetrical pulse-width modulation (PWM). In this paper, the operational principle of the converter is explained by the modes, and the design example for the prototype is also shown. To validate the performance of the converter, the prototype is implemented as the designed circuit parameters and the good performance of the proposed converter is shown through the experimental results
A Study on the Development of a Home Mess-Cleanup Robot Using an RFID Tag-Floor

An autonomous and automatic home mess-cleanup robot is newly developed in this paper. Thus far, vacuum-cleaners have lightened the burden of household chores but the operational labor that vacuum-cleaners entail has been very severe. Recently, a cleaning robot was commercialized to solve but it also was not successful because it still had the problem of mess-cleanup, which pertained to the clean-up of large trash and the arrangement of newspapers, clothes, etc. Hence, we develop a new home mess-cleanup robot (McBot) to completely overcome this problem. The robot needs the capability for agile navigation and a novel manipulation system for mess-cleanup. The autonomous navigational system has to be controlled for the full scanning of the living room and for the precise tracking of the desired path. It must be also be able to recognize the absolute position and orientation of itself and to distinguish the messed object that is to be cleaned up from obstacles that should merely be avoided. The manipulator, which is not needed in a vacuum-cleaning robot, has the functions of distinguishing the large trash that is to be cleaned from the messed objects that are to be arranged. It needs to use its discretion with regard to the form of the messed objects and to properly carry these objects to the destination. In particular, in this paper, we describe our approach for achieving accurate localization using RFID for home mess-cleanup robots. Finally, the effectiveness of the developed McBot is confirmed through live tests of the mess-cleanup task.
Design and Implementation of Text Classification System based on ETOM+RPost

Recently, the size of online texts and textual information is increasing explosively, and the automated classification has a great potential for handling data such as news materials and images. Text classification system is based on supervised learning which needs laborous work by human expert. The main goal of this paper is to reduce the manual intervention, required for the task. The other goal is to increase accuracy to be high. Most of the documents have high complexity in contents and the high similarities in their described style. So, the classification results are not satisfactory. This paper shows the implementation of classification system based on ETOM+RPost algorithm and classification progress using SPAM data. In experiments, we verified our system with right-training documents and wrong-training documents. The experimental results show that our system has high accuracy and stability in all situation as 16% improvement in accuracy.

In this paper, a mobile quiz system using SMS has been developed, which can be conveniently used on the spot of education. The system immediately not only provides each individual student with the results of his/her quizzes but also a instructor with the statistics of the results by SMS. Field tests of the quiz system have shown that it can be effectively used as a good teaching tool for teachers getting immediate feedback from participants in the lecture and adjusting teaching level as well as for inducing more interest in learning from participants and raising their concentration on the class.

The existing reliability evaluation models which have already developed by the corporations are so various because of using Maximum Likelihood Method. The existing models are very complicated owing to using system designing methods. Therefore, it is very difficult to utilize the existing models in business fields of many corporations. The purposes of this paper are as follows: The first purpose is to study the simple estimated Parameter to be easily utilized in the business fields of the corporations. The second purpose is to testify the simplification of the developed Parameter of estimated method by comparing the developed reliability evaluation model with the existing reliability evaluation models which are used in the business fields of the corporations.
Design and Implementation of A JungGanBo Authoring Tool for Traditional Korean Music

Jungganbo is a writing method for the Korean traditional music. Since writing the Korean music needs to be done by hand and Chinese characters are used, only an expert musician might handle Jungganbo. In this paper, an authoring software tool for Jungganbo is introduced. It is useful for anybody who wants to compose the Korean tradition music with a computer. This tool also enables to standardize writing techniques of Jungganbo because a musical score was done by hands without using an authoring tool. In addition, this authoring tool can be easily used since its environment is very similar to other windows-based programs such as Ms-word and Hwp. Not only the beginners but also the experts can use this authoring tool for their Korean traditional music writing easily.
A Range-Free Localization Method using an RFID System -Applied to a Library Book Location System-

We propose an RFID system based on range-free localization method. This method recognizes pre-determined reference tags first, and then checks within which reference tag the target tag is placed closest. It estimates target tag's position relative to the reference tag's position. We use Aging Counter to estimate the distance between reference and target tags using the read ratio of RFID tags. Practicality of the proposed method is verified by applying it to a library book locating system.

This paper designed 3D animation in consideration of human characteristics to stimulate their interest and to be more understandable to them. It was also confirmed that, using the 3D animation contents, general people came to recognize the problem of environment pollution and developed desirable attitude and behavior for protecting the environment. Furthermore, this paper suggested the direction of systematic environmental education and other general people education institutions using the developed 3D animation contents as a teaching material.
A Study on the Authentication Model using Integrated Management Center

U-City includes various information devices and network techniques, which connect among several information devices. Integrated Management Center, which is the core element of u-City, is designed to manage all services of u-City and carry out the control function for a city. Accordingly, u-City needs the methods of user authentication and security, so these methods must be implemented to integrated management center. This paper is devoted to describe some conventional authentication techniques, and authentication methods and procedures that may be available to u-City network context. Proposed u-City integrated authentication model assigns IP to only right user after authenticating information terminals and users in u-City and authorizes users according to the policy, so this model plays an important role for the security of integrated management center.
Design and Verification of Multimedia Synchronization Model using PetriNet

In this paper we suggest multimedia synchronization model that is based on the Petri-net and services desirable quality of service requirement. Proposed model applies variable buffer which can be allowed, and then it presents high quality of service and real time characteristics. In this paper we expend Petri-net and propose new multimedia synchronization specification model in PBMSM and apply two analysis method of Petri-net to prove our model suggested. We compared with other models and showed high QoS.
A Study on the Thermodynamic Analysis for the DME Separation Process

Through this study, we have attempted the thermodynamic analysis on the dimethyl ether (DME) separation process, which can be used for diesel alternative fuel, additive to LPG and natural gas. And we also have completed the simulation of DME separation process using PRO/II with PROVISION. As an appropriate thermodynamic models, we selected NRTL liquid activity coefficient model to describe the non-ideality between methanol and water. To estimate the vapor phase non-idealities, we have chosen the Peng-Robinson equation of state model. And we also use the Henry's law option to predict the solubilities of non-condensible gases like CO,
in methanol solvent. Case study showed that optimal solvent to feed molar ratio was 3.40

The glass formation and the dissolution property in
-FeO-CuO system were studied. In the batch process, the content of P2O5 was fixed at 60mol% and the other elements were varied from 10~40mol%. Manufacture and Application of UV-Cured Anti-cigar burning Coating Compounds for PVC Tile

This study is on development of UV-cured water soluble coating composition which have more improved anti-cigar burning to prevent a surface of PVC tile from damage of heat. To make an anti-cigar burning coating solution, thermostable agent that synthesize main materials phosphorus compound, guanidine and ammonium phosphate dibasic used temporary flame retardants, changing their contents from 10 to 30wt% against quantities of resin and compounded. After coating PVC tiles using bar-coating method that can adjust a thickness, we estimated surface properties of coated layer such as anti-cigar burning, adhesive power, chemical resistance, thickness of coating, and so on. Results showed that a coating composition added 30 wt% of phosphorus compound and coated with No.12 bar-coater had the best optimized surface property in anti-cigar burning effect, adhesive power and chemical resistance. Also, we could find anti-cigar burning effect was improved as thermostable agents content and coating thickness increased.
Development of Perfect Recycling Equipment for Sea Fish Waste

We proposed perfect recycling method of sea waste. The sea waste(rotten sea fish, rotten shell fish etc.) have bad smell and generate waste water, so these waste materials must be treated quickly. If we use speedy dryer, these sea waste can be changed to useful feed and liquid composts. Also this study relates to a method for drying a variety of untreated waste materials in a hermetically sealed state, and subsequently carbonizing the dried waste materials under a reduced pressure, thereby achieving a more stable and economical treatment for the waste materials, and an apparatus for performing the method. This effects of preventing generation of contaminants and environmental pollution while reducing fuel costs, and a carbide, obtained via the drying and carbonization of the waste material, are available into feed for poultry. The condensate water can be used to deodorants.

This study for construction of golf courses is to present basic information and pattern of change of construction cost by looking at the capacity of construction, requiring time and other aspects. The propose of this study is to develop the model of brief cost expected by using cost index and analyzing the actual work cost data gathered in golf course construction industry in Korea. The equation used for the cost-capacity index in other to deliver the expected construction cost is followed next. The results of this study, by regression analysis for the information of 7 golf courses, it could be found the cost-capacity index n, such as 0.72 for whole construction, 0.67 for net construction.
Modern Housing Discourse of Korea in 1910s

All the text of housing in 1910s was conveyed in three; hygiene general readings, home economics texts saying women's responsibility of cleaning house, and Japanese's observation and criticizing Korean housing. It stressed sanitary conditions of housing and criticised Korean housing dirty, of which contents and logic were same with the housing discourse in 1900s but much simpler and smaller in amount. It was mainly written by those in medical treatment field like doctors for enlightenment of private hygiene practice to Koreans. Because Choson Government-General(朝鮮總督府) excluded Korean residental areas from urban sanitation project, they remained dirty in 1910s. The practice of housing sanitation remained just as a matter of private sanitary practice. These political and discoursive conditions insinuated a sense that Korean dirty housing was representation of Korean's uncivilized customs and manners and a reason for being colonized. This sense made many Koreans to insist their housings' reforming to sanitary states just for civilization during colonized period.
Reduction Effect of Moment of Steel Composite Bridge according to Camber Control in Middle Support

In this study, both an experimental test and a time history analysis with 3D modeling were performed to verify the structural analysis model in a 2-span two girder bridge of high speed railway, which was under constructed according to the ballast load of track structure. In the basis of the structural analysis model, the analysis of construction step was carried out to investigate the reduction effect of moment in middle support of the bridge which has initial prestressing force according to camber control. The initial prestressing force of proper level was calculated, and then the reduction of moment for economical bridge section was studied. Finally, a bridge analysis method was presented for an economical and efficient design in steel composite bridge.

In this paper, an experimental study is performed in order to determine the effects of interaction between vehicle and structure. For this purpose a wheel tracking machine and an adequate precast concrete deck single span bridge are designed. Results presented in the paper show that interaction between vehicle and structure produce additional effects on dynamic behavior of structure including reversal and contrary behavior.

Even though local governments are committed to the landscape management aiming to enhance the quality of the urban and natural landscape, the results are not satisfactory since the landscape plan is performed through the "routine" process, on which the planning system is based. Many local governments had spent much in making their landscape plans, but these plans were evaluated not so much "useful" in the practical sense. The objective of the study, which aims to systematically readjust the existing landscape management system of Korea, is to analyse the landscape plans of the few local governments, which are categorized in two level - upper and low local government. The analysis of landscape plan is performed in terms of four factors: The composed structure, the objects of the plan, the effectiveness of the landscapeindicators and guidelines and the institutional system.

This study aims to analyze the early 19th century Jeolla-Gamsa's(全羅監司; the provincial governor of Jeolla-Do) utilization of governing institutions in Jeonju-Bu(全州府) focused on his duties and ritual ceremonies. Wanyeong-Ilrok("完營日錄") which is Jeolla-Gamsa's official diary written by Yu-Gu Seo(1764-1845) is closely investigated for that purpose. As a result, it is proved that some governing institutions are used differ from ritual regulations.

There is a few problems in the preliminary seismic performance evaluation procedure of subway infrastructures, such as cut-and-cover tunnel structures and bridge structures, recently because the characteristics of subway infrastructures are not properly considered in the procedure. In particular, the evaluation procedure of vehicular bridge structures is applied to subway bridges without any modification. Moreover, the present evaluation procedure is lack of both theoretical and empirical backgrounds, which makes the evaluation less reliable. This paper presents problems in the existing preliminary evaluation procedure and proposes possible modification(revision) to the procedure.
A study on enhancement of nitrogen removal efficiency on low concentration influent sewage

This study was investigated to complement nitrogen removal of low concentration influent municipal sewage. The following are the results of the effect of Internal Recircularion and Step Feed rates on Treatment efficiency at a BOD low concentration influent municipal sewage. Up to 90.0% of BOD, 87.8% of COD, 71.0% of T-N, 75.3% of T-P were removed on average at a low concentration influent. Whereas BOD and T-P were removed without any relations to Step Feed rates, T-N was influenced. Nitrogen removal efficiencies in 80% of Step Feed rates was 65%, which was caused by the lack of Carbon Source for denitrification. Nitrogen removal efficiency in 40% of Step Feed rates was 58%, which means it was not removed but dischared. Consequently, the efficiency was 73%, 80%, and 78% in 70%, 60% and 50% of Step Feed rates, which was concluded as the best range of Step Feed rates. Nitrogen removal efficiency increased under the condition of Internal Recircularion. At over 150% of Internal Recircularion rate, the efficiencies were not affected any more. It is believed that lots of Recircularion caused inflow of DO to anoxic tank. Therefore, the most appropriate Internal Recircularion rate can be concluded as 50~150%.

As the concerning about Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) is increasing, corporate's expenditure about Corporate Social Responsibility is increasing year and year. As for this, we need the research about the effect of the expenditure about corporate social responsibility on financial performance. So, lot's of empirical researches have been tested in order to prove the relations between Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance. But their results of study different from those of researchers due to the reasons of different methodologies and varieties of variables measuring. Therefore, in this article, setting two hypotheses with sampling 600 corporate firms from 2003 to 2005,first we analyzed financial performance of corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility and which is not. Second, we analyzed corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility before and after. In results of this paper, carrying execution into corporate social responsibility affects financial performance badly in short term. That's why we need to study for further more long term periods such as after 5-years or so. And financial performance of corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility is higher than others, accepting the second hypothesis just as this paper has set.
Words for Numbers and Transcoding Processes Reflected by ERPs during Mental Arithmetic

The effect of the code conversion process of Korean script (Hangul), also known as words for numbers, was investigated using event-related potentials (ERPs) during mental arithmetic operations. Study subjects were asked to determine whether the arithmetic results of a given target stimuli were correctly matched. Visual inspection and statistics of mean ERPs showed stimulus type-dependent processing rather than task-dependent processing. Results of addition and multiplication tasks revealed that the overall temporal profiles of the Arabic numerals were similar to the Hangul words for numbers. The only exception to this observation was a delayed positive-slope peak occurring around 300 ms, which was likely related to the encoding process of Hangul words for numbers to Arabic-digits, defined as a 'transcoding-related potential.' Source analysis confirmed that the topography of different waveforms for the two conditions was attributed to a single dipole located in the left temporo-parietal area; this area is known to be involved in Hangul words for number processing. These results suggest that the initial processing for encoding words for numbers was followed by arithmetic operations without direct access of internal number representation. Development of a Prototype of FEM Simulation Environment for Temperature Controller Design

In many industrial applications, it is very important to control the temperature of the controlled object to the target temperature as closely as possible. Although it is apparent that the great obstacles in controller design are time-delay of the thermal responses of the controlled object and the effect of thermal interference between neighboring heating zones, one more fundamental obstacle is a very large amount of time which is required during repeated experiments in controller design process. Therefore, a convenient simulation environment, which can represent thermal behavior accurately within appropriate time, is needed. In this paper, a prototype of 2D FEM (finite element method) heat transfer simulation environment using MATLAB is constructed to be usefully adopted into industrial applications with temperature controller design.

As the world has had a high recognition of security since 9/11 attacks in 2001, many countries and international organizations around the world are making strenuous efforts in establishing stronger security, centering on areas with high possibility of terrorist attacks. In particular, harbor facilities where a great deal of trade take place between countries, have high possibilities of becoming the objects of terrorist attacks and also of becoming places of trading objects and illegal items which might be leveraged for terror attacks. In this study, I have explained the current status of the harbor entrance system through existing documents, interviews and field trips to harbors and have also introduced improvement measures using RFID technology from the viewpoint of BP(Business Process). I expect that this study will be used as basic materials because I have studied the number of people entering harbors and working procedures for vehicle entrance, which have not been studied so far and also laid out various factors to be considered to introduce RFID technology.
Development of Haplotype Reconstruction System Using Public Resources

Haplotype-based research has become increasingly important in the field of personalized medicine since the haplotype reflects a set of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) that are genetically associated and inherited together. Currently, the most widely used application softwares available for haplotype reconstruction, based on in silico method, include PL-EM, Haplotyper, PHASE and HAP. PL-EM, Haplotyper and PHASE are command-line application running on LINUX or Unix system and HAP is a web-based client-server application. This paper deals with an integrated haplotype reconstruction system that have been developed with PL-EM and Haplotyper selected from the accuracy test with experimentally verified data on public application softwares. This integrated system is a kind of client-sever one with user friendly web interface and can provide end-users with a high quality of haplotype analysis. SNPs genotype data with a length of 5 derived from 5 people and SNPs genotype data with a length of 13 derived from 15 people were used to test the analysis results of Haplotyper and PL-EM respectively. As a result, this system has been confirmed to provide the systematic and easy-to-understand analysis results that consist of two main parts, i.e. individual haplotype information and haplotype pool information. In this respect, the integration system will be utilized as a useful tool for the discovery of disease related genes and the development of personalized drugs through facilitating the reconstruction of haplotype maps.
Factors Influencing on Medical Service Satisfaction of Patients Utilizing a Day-Case Surgery Center in Korea

This study was attempted to identify the factors relating to the medical service satisfaction on the patients utilizing a day-case surgery center in Korea. A questionnaire survey was conducted to patients were utilizing a day-surgery center, independently operated by one general hospital from January 13 to February 13, 2009. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, in the characteristic related with health and medical situations, day-surgery patients had little experience with surgery or hospitalizing and much interest in their health. Secondly, there were significant differences in regard to the quality of medical service for surgery waiting time and surgery time(p<0.05). Thirdly, multiple regression analysis revealed that age and level of education affected patients perception of day surgery(p<0.05). In conclusion, in order to increase the rate of day-surgery, it is necessary to give information about the advantages of day-surgery center and preoperative education.
Comparison of Quality of CPR between Knee Protection and No Knee Protection in CPR

This study was carried out examine the difference in the quality of CPR between knee protection and no knee protection when CPR is performed with mannequin on the floor covered with laminated paper. Subjects of the research were 48 experimental group and 56 control group who were college students in G province and U metropolitan city and completed AHA BLS Provider Course from Apr. 20 to Nov. 15, 2009. This study made knee pad(material: polyester 100%, thickness: 2.5cm, width 16cm
length 17cm) to protect knee for experimental treatment and measurement of CPR quality was connected with Resusci Anne(Leardal, Norway) mannequin and the results of CPR were recorded with Resusci Anne
(Leardal, Norway). Collected data were analyzed by SPSS/PC+(version 14.0). In conclusion, knee protection in CPR on the floor covered with laminated paper showed higher quality of CPR than that of no knee protection regardless of sex, height and weight.
The Presenting Visual acuity and Satisfaction of Visual Acuity Tests on Health Checkups in Korean Adults

The aim of this study was to survey the presenting visual acuity (VA) and satisfaction of VA tests in health checkups and to suggest ways in which eye care can be improved. VA data were obtained from the results of the health checkups for Korean adults in 2002-2007. Satisfaction questionnaires were administered via direct interview with 173 participants who had health checkups. The prevalence of VA 0.5-1.4 was 76.24%. Women had a higher prevalence than men below VA 0.9 and men had a higher prevalence than women above VA 1.0. The change in VA with age had a tendency to decrease after forties. Findings for satisfaction of VA tests on health checkups showed a level of neutral agreement. In order to enhance satisfaction, it is important that vision testing should provide examinees with referral criterion and follow-up VA results. It is also necessary to have comprehensive eye examination and utilize optometric instruments and professional examiners.
The Analysis of Acute Drug Intoxication in Emergency Medical Center

In order to investigate acute drug intoxication trends in the elderly who visited emergency medical center, Data were collected from the records of poisoning patients visited five different hospitals from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007. The analysis was conducted by using 624 cases from these hospitals. The results are as follows. The study was designed to be divided into two categories of elderly and those under age 65. The criteria were as follows ; male to female ratio, those living together with families, past suicide attempts, acute drug intoxication reasons, management, mental status and the level of sobriety on arrival at the medical centers, and monthly distribution. There was no difference between two groups. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop suicide prevention program for the suicide vulnerable group. Accidental poisonings are going to continue. This means that poisoning prevention education programs must also be developed for periodic use.

This study showed effective and new applicative direction of CRM of medical management after arranging CRM researches, measuring CRM activity and the results of medical institutions and clearing factors having an effect. In other words, 'Human Factors' variables and 'Physical Factors' variables have an effect on the result of CRM. 'Human Factors' variables have an effect on the qualitative result and 'Physical Factors' variables have an effect on the quantitative performance. In more strategic CRM continuum, Human Factors have a significant effect on the whole performance of CRM. And in more tactical, CRM continuum Human Factors and Physical Factors have significant effect on the whole performance of CRM. Consequently, The key point is grasp of what characteristics exist in CRM between strategic level and tactical level. This provides the foundation for the variables in marketing practice.
A Study on Economic Stress-Related Factors with Stroke Patients

This study was carried out to examine relationships between financial pressures, depression, the quality of life related with economic stress factors on patients suffering from chronic strokes residing in Daejeon. 209 patients with chronic stroke being treated in genernal hospital were selected as subjects for this study. Data were collected by conducting 1:1 interviews through questionnaires. The study examined differences in patients' economic stress, depression, standard of living and the quality of lives through collected data. The results showed statistically meaningful analysis in standard of living(p<.000), economic pressure (p<.000), depression (p<.05), the quality of life (p>.05), the standard of living (p<.05). The higher the economic pressure, depression indexes or very severe the standard of living the lower the quality of life index, so the economic stress meaningfully increases. If an objective economic stress index is devised by measuring the level of economic burdens in common with guardians of patients and patients themselves, the index will become clinically important data. Furthermore, there requires the development of medical mediation that can reduce economic stress and increase the quality of life for patients suffering from strokes.

To measure bonding strength, various porcelain materials were baked on with-Beryllium metals, non-Beryllium metals 8group and Zirconia 1 group among commercially available base alloys, and measured the bonding strength was measured before and after thermocycling. The findings of this study are as follows: 1) PTM(press-to-metal) porcelain non-Beryllium metal showed the, highteat bonding strength each 73.2MPa, 59.2MPa before and after thermocycling. 2) The porcelain materials baked on non-Beryllium metal showed higher bonding strength before and after thermocycling than those baked on with-Beryllium metal. 3) Zirconia products showed the lowest 38.7MPa bonding strength before and after thermocycling.
Difference of the Effect of Related Factors on Healthy Life_Styles by the Income level

This research have aimed for analyzing the effect of relative factors on healthy life styles by the income level in a medium-sized city. Especially, the research tried to figure out whether the public health center's health-promotion-activity had different effects on healthy life styles by the income level. The random sampled data of 809 citizens aged between 19 and 69 were analyzed through phone survey by the Korea Gallop inc(surveyed from 2006.10.11 to 10.13). In the low socioeconomic status, the relation between people's positive conception about public health center's health-promoting-program and healthy behavior tendency is low. But in the high socioeconomic status, the relation is high. This result suggest that the effect of public health center's health promotion programs on healthy life styles is different by income level.
