Microstructure and mechanical properties in hot-forged liquid-phase-sintered silicon carbide

Two kind of
-SiC powders of different particle sizes (

and 1 wt% MgO as sintering additives, were prepared by hot pressing at
for 1 h under applied pressures, and then were hot-forged at
for 6 h under 40 MPa in argon. All the hot-pressed specimens consisted of equiaxed grains and were developed grain growth after hot-forging. The smaller starting powder was developed the finer microstructure. The microstructures on the surfaces parallel and perpendicular to the pressing direction of the hot-forged SiC were similar to each other, and no texture development was observed because of the lack of massive
phase transformation of SiC. The fracture toughness (
), hardness (~ 25.2 GPa) and flexural strength (480 MPa) of hot-forged SiC using larger starting powder were higher than those of the other.
The Mechanical Dither Design of Navigation Guide Structure

The gyroscopes have been used as a suitable inertial instrument for the navigation guidance and attitude controls. The accuracy as very sensitive sensor is limited by the lock-in region(dead band) due to the frequency coupling between two counter-propagating waves at low rotation rates. This frequency coupling gives no phase difference, and an angular increment is not detected. This problem can be overcome by mechanically dithering the gyroscope. This paper presents the design method of mechanical dither by the theoretical considerations and the verification of the theoretical equations through FEM(Finite Element Method) applications. As a result, the maximum prediction error of resonant frequency and peak dither rate was under 5 percent. The theoretical equations for the mechanical performances of dither can be said to be feasible.

A performance of CNC 3-axis pipe profile-cutting machine we developed was evaluated by measuring and verifying a positioning accuracy of its feeding unit and a cutting shape accuracy of pipe workpiece. The positioning accuracy was verified by comparing moving distance actuated by PLC motion controller with actual one measured by a laser interferometer. The cutting shape accuracy was also verified by comparing a cutting shape obtained through scanning and 3D modeling the pipe workpiece with that through CL data.
A Computer Algorithm for the evaluation of elements in Face Stimulus Assessment

The Face Stimulus Assessment is an efficient projective drawing test developed by Betts. This paper categorizes scales which Betts suggested into the following five groups: accuracy of painting, color fit, perception of shape, precision of drawing, and space usage. In this paper, a computer algorithm which objectively evaluates these five scales is suggested. The proposed algorithm defines the areas of the lip, eyes, hair, etc. which take on significant roles in the evaluation of the FSA and based on these factors, it calculates the grade of each scale through the main color and color ratio. The consistency of evaluations between the computer algorithm and the art therapist is measured by the Quadratic Weighted Kappa. By providing objectivity and consistency, the computer algorithm is expected to solve the problem of uncertainty found in art therapists` evaluations of projective drawing tests caused by their subjective judgment, experience, and intuition.
A Study on the Ways to Embrace Stereoscopic 3D Cinema in Korea

James Cameron`s "Avatar" has broken the national record of movie ticket sales, and it caused the boom of 3D and 3D related fields. This research is focused on the appropriate ways to embrace the stereoscopic 3D cinema and the assumable result in Korea. The new stereoscopic 3D is different from the old fashioned analogue 3D, and it has many possibilities that may influence Korean film industry. Since 1990s, the number of Korean film school has increased drastically, and many of those who graduated from the schools would experience fierce job market. 3D converting projects that require a lot of film majored personnels would solve the overly supplied film majored professionals. Through Korea`s hundreds of film schools, when they include 3D filmmaking in their curriculum, they can train and educate 3D related staff such as stereographer, convergence puller, and depth continuity artists, and Korea can be an important 3D staff train center in the world. Educating 3D filmmaking can produce a noticeable result in terms of accepting 3D cinema. Stereoscopic 3D cinema has many possibilities in many fields not only in cinema but also almost every fields that related to the imagery. With government`s supports, the investments from the 3D related corporations, and 3D education in colleges would be fast and efficient way to embrace and accept stereoscopic 3D cinema in Korea in terms of the size and the profit.

This study, centered on public institutions that introduced and are using Knowledge Management System(KMS), is a study of affecting influence factors for utilization and satisfaction. In case of public institutions, they introduced in earnest knowledge management system starting second half of 1999 and most branches of the government such as Department of Defence, Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs and Ministry of Planning and Budget have laid the foundation and been managing the system. As a result understanding convenience and need of knowledge management system and awareness for importance of knowledge asset are proliferating. But there is a lot of difference in utilization of KMS by work unit and also can find that the difference exists among users in terms of satisfaction. This is expected as having influence from chief officer`s concern, support of exclusively responsible personnel factor, whether education training was given, KM process support etc. for KMS. Therefore this study draws subordinate factors of organization characteristic, knowledge information characteristic, strategy characteristic as influence factors to KMS and analyzes how these subordinate factors influence utilization and satisfaction of KMS to suggest a way to catalyze knowledge management system in the future.
CSF Analysis centered on the Case Study of a Restaurant Franchise

The Korean restaurant franchise business is continuing to grow along with economic growth. Moreover, there are some Korean restaurant franchise enterprises that have managed to enter overseas markets as well, and which are unfolding a strategy for success by leveraging marketing activities that consider the tastes of the respective localities and their consumers` characteristics. This research conducted a comparative analysis of `Nolbu`and `Mister Pizza` both considered successful franchises, to identify the CSF(Critical Success factors) of the Korean restaurant franchise business. The results of the research demonstrate the critical success factors, including: efforts such as effective marketing; effort to return part their profits to the community; structured and scientific restaurant management; an effective logistics and distribution system and differentiation against other brands.

Mean Residual Life (MRL) function plays a very important role in the area of engineering, medical science, survival studies, social sciences, and many other fields. Specially, in the reliability study of technical systems, the MRL estimation of a component is very important because the sudden stop of a system brings a serious problem. So, many simulation studies of MRL estimation have been done considering various situation variables. In this paper, four estimators of MRL are proposed under random censoring and their performances re compared through bias and Mean Square Error (MSE) by Monte Carlo simulation.
The Effects of Embedding-study Oriented Entrepreneurship Educating Program on Participant`s Satisfaction and Referring ill

This paper assess participant`s satisfaction and referring will of embedding study- oriented TEC entrepreneurship program to drive policy implications for domestic entrepreneurship education, such as graduate schools of entrepreneurial management in Korea. The hypothesis test of this research shows that four assumptions given have been accepted among five of them as follows; education content, lecture style, prior knowledge variables with positively correlating to participant`s satisfaction and referring will. In particular, the stronger highlights falls on algorithm approach with stressing on iterative and process oriented embedding study relating to education content, case-oriented lecture to lecture style and experience, customer understanding with business plan to prior knowledge.
Modeling for Transparent Toaster with a Cap of Folding Type

This paper presents a study on the modeling for transparent toaster with a cap of folding type. The toaster was modelled to solve problems of customer`s unsatisfaction such as heat loss, input of a piece of dirt, unidentified heating state of sliced toaster. Rapid prototyping was followed by the first modeling, and the second modeling was implemented in order to solve the problems of the first modeling such as interference of holder and door, and the third modeling was developed with a cap of folding type through analysis of assembly and simulation. The 3D modeling tool used in this paper was Pro/Engineer 4.0. The modeling was designed to minimize heat loss and structured with transparent outer case. So the toasting procedure will be identified with the naked eye, and the transparent toaster will improve the customer`s aesthetic satisfaction.
Design and Analysis of Efficient Operation Sequencing in FMC Robot Using Simulation and Sequential Patterns

This paper suggested the method to design and analyze FMC robot`s dispatching rule using the Simulation and Sequential Patterns. To do this, first of all, we built FMC using simulation and then, extracted signals that facilities call a robot, saved it as the log type. Secondly, we built robot`s optimal path using the Sequential Pattern Mining with the results of analyzing the log and relationship between machine and robot actions. Lastly, we adapted it to the A corp.`s manufacturing line for verifying its performance. As a result of applying the new dispatching rule in FMC, total throughput and total flow time decrease because of decreasing material loss time and increasing robot utility. Furthermore, because this method can be applied for every manufacturing plant using simulation, it can contribute to advance total FMC efficiency as well.
A Study of Business Support Policy for Small-Medium Enterprises in Regional Strategic Industry

In this study, We will find approach to improve the efficiency of business support policies for small-medium enterprises(SMEs) in the regional strategic industries. Especially, based on the customized needs of SMEs in strategic industries, we intend to find directions of the business support policy. we can use the decisions criteria(for example, business strategy, business portfolio, effective budget allocation, core business plans, etc.) by research results. To achieve the research objectives, we surveyed from 243 SMEs in regional strategic industry. we found the differences of industry characteristics, strategy and industry-specific by growth stages. Thus, this result implies the necessity of creating a customizing policy for SMEs. We found implications about the efficiency improvement of regional industrial policy. In conclusion, regional industrial policy must reflect the central government`s policy direction of regional industries and the demand of SMEs.
Estimating the Determinants of Households` Monthly Average Income : A Panel Data Model Approach

Households` monthly average income is composed of various factors. This study paper studies focuses on estimating the determinants of a households` monthly average income. The region for analysis consist of three groups, that is, the whole country, a metropolitan city(such as Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangiu, Daejeon, Ulsan.) and Seoul. Analyzing period be formed over a 57 time points(2005. 01~2009. 09). In this paper the dependent variable setting up the households` monthly average income, explanatory (independent) variables are composed of the consumer price index, employment to population ratio, Index of housing sale price, the preceding composite index, loans of housing mortgage, spending rate for care medical expense and the composite stock price index. In looking at the factors which determine the monthly average income, evidence was produced supporting the hypothesis that there is a significant positive relationship between the composite index and housing loans. The study also produced evidence supporting the view that there is a significant negative relationship between employment ratios, the house sale pricing index and spending rates for care or medical needs. The study found that the consumer price index and composite stock price index were not significant variables. The implications of these findings are discussed for further research.
A Study on Structural Relationships among Emotional Labor, Job Stress and Turnover Intention

This study reviewed the previous research materials and made a positive investigation to identify the structural interrelation of caddies` emotional labor, job stress and turnover intention. Some analytical findings are as follows: First, the job stress increases in proportion as the emotional labor. Second, the turnover intention is not in proportion as the frequency of emotional display or the subordinate element of the emotional labor but the degree of the emotional expression and dissonance. Third, the turnover intention is in proportion as the job stress. In other words, the higher the emotional labor, the more the job stress and turnover intention. Consequently, the caddies should be highly qualified to express themselves according to their job conditions. Also, the stronger the caddies` job stress, the more their turnover intention. It is necessary to use the leadership to relieve the job stress and motivate the caddies to have the pride. My solution will have a positive effect on lessening the job stress and turnover intention.
On an optimum positioning of multivariate data using an orthogonal rotation technique

This paper suggests an algorithm for optimal positioning individuals(or observations) with p-dimensional measurements into coordinates of a two dimensional space. A criterion for optimizing the rotation is taken as the consistency of the grouping result obtained by the cluster analysis. This paper introduces the criterion and a transformation matrix for the orthogonal rotation. The criterion of the optimal positioning is that standard groups are placed in each quadrant of the positioning. An optimal angle of the orthogonal rotation is investigated and found by this criterions.

This research has been started with the goal of design and implementation of more innovative next generation security equipment system by understanding and reviewing the technological trend and status of security equipment system. The importance of environmental protection and management is ever increasing recently. Various types of equipment and system solutions are used according to the development of CCTV technology, but more efficient environmental protection and management are not in place because of situational restrictions such as expensive equipment and hard to install. Next generation security equipment system is designed and implemented to compensate and innovate these problem, and it is expected to utilize more effectively with lower cost through this research. In addition, methodology to inquire this system is proposed for security equipment system solution.
A Study on the Effects of One`s Blood Type Cognitive Function and Emotional Character for the Elder

This study is focused on the effects of elder`s blood type on determining awareness and emotional character of the elderly, by comparing each individual`s brain wave. Observed records are from thoes elder`s who volunteered for KRIJUS( Korea Research Institute of Jungshin Science)`s brain wave measurement from September 2008 to June 2009. This study conducted a chi-square test and a logistic regression analysis by not only using a investigation data of discharged patients with damages from 2004 to 2006, but also using a census and a research data on the actual condition from health care system. The result follows; First, the centralization of medical utilization of operation patients is becoming apparent, centrally the capital area. To improve this, a policy that can not only provide medical centers and sickbed, but also improve the quality of local medical treatments for the localization of medical treatments. Second, propelling localization policy of certain diseases for the localization of medical utilization is needed as the rate of non-residential of operation patients that have diseases of the eye and adnexa, or cancers is high. Third, a localization policy for patients with damages is needed as the rate of treatments in other regions of operation patients with industrial accidents is increasing day by day.
Effect of Repeated Directing Tooth-brushing Education on Plaque Control

Educational object of this study was patients who visited H-dental clinic in D-Metropolitan City. It was investigated on the general character, subjective health condition, oral knowledge, oral recognition and oral practice of patients(experimental group 134 subjects and control group 110 subjects) who were educated to repeated directing tooth-brushing through questionnaire. For understanding the degree of actual oral practice, plaque control score was analyzed by the O`Leary index. The results of this study are as follows. A verification of effect after repeated directing tooth-brushing education represented to significance in experimental group on the concern, subjective health condition, oral recognition, oral knowledge, oral practice and plaque control score(p<0.001). And as frequency of repeated directing tooth-brushing education was increased, plaque control score significantly increased(p<0.001).
Relationship Between Mitochondrial DNA Copy Number, Metabolic Abnormalities and Hepatic Steatosis

Insulin resistance plays a central role in fatty liver, a part of the metabolic syndrome. This study examined the relationship between fatty liver, metabolic abnormalities and mitochondrial DNA [mtDNA] copy number in peripheral blood that is correlated with diabetes or metabolic markers. Fatty liver was assessed by questionnaire on alcohol consumption and abdominal ultrasonography. MtDNA copy number in peripheral leukocytes was measured by a real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction [PCR]. Among 445 subjects, 148 subjects had hepatic steatosis and 297 were controls. mtDNA copy number was significantly lower in fatty liver group in comparison with that of normal finding group. This result is similar in both groups, alcoholic or non-alcoholic fatty liver group. MtDNA copy number was inversely correlated with alanine aminotransferase [ALT], aspartate aminotransferase [AST], gamma-glutamyltransferase [
-GTP], body mass index [BMI], waist circumference, diastolic blood pressure, and free fatty acid. MtDNA copy number in peripheral leukocytes was associated with fatty liver and insulin resistance related factors.

A Study on the Environmental Radiation Dose Measurement in the Nuclear Medicine Department

Korean individual occupational exposure control is focused on the retrospective service to the over-exposed person by the reading of personal dosimeter. Since the radiophamaceuticals using in the nuclear medicine department are uncontained radiation sources, the potential exposure at working environment is very high. Moreover, a patient remains radioactive for hours or even days after the administration of a radiopharmaceutical for diagnosis or treatment. Thus, the proper working environmental exposure control must be established and executed to protect not only the affiliated employees, but also guardians accompanying patients and temporarily visiting public from the exposure by the patients. Japanese radiation protection law regulates working environmental radiation exposure by regularly measuring and filing the environmental dose for years. This study was aimed at measuring working environmental radiation dose in the nuclear medicine department of an university hospital located in Daejeon, Korea. We measured the accumulation radiation dose in air at 8 locations in the nuclear medicine department by using the same method as in Japan with glass dosimeters. The highest dose rate, 0.23 mSv per month, was measured at the waiting room, and the second one is at reception desk. Even though the doses were lower than the Korean constraint dose rate (0.3 mSv/week) at the boundary of the radiation controlled area, it was over the dose limit of public (1 mSv/y) and environment (0.25 mSv/y). Conclusionally, it was found that the new or additional procedure was necessary to less the exposure dose to the receptionist and guardians by the environmental radiation dose in the nuclear medicine department.
MAPK Activity in Porcine Oocytes Maturing InVitro

In this study, we determined effects of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) inhibitor, U0126 on meiotic maturation, microtubule organization and actin filament assembly in the porcine oocyte. The phosphorylated MAPK was first detected at 12 h after the initiation of maturation cultures, fully activated at 24h, and remained until metaphase II. Treatment of germinal vesicle (GV) stage oocytes with
U0126 completely blocked MAPK phosphorylation, but germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) was normally proceeded. However, the oocytes didn‘t progress to the metaphase I. The inhibition of MAPK resulted in abnormal spindles. In oocytes treated with U0126 after GVBD, polar body extrusion was normal, but the organization of the metaphase plate and chromosome segregation were abnormal. In conclusion, MAPK activity plays an important regulatory role in GV chromatin configuration and meiotic progress in porcine oocyte maturation.
An Efficiency Evaluation of Public Health Center by Data Envelopment Analysis -Focused on Public Health Centers of Gyeongnam Province-

In this research, we analyze the efficiency of 20 public health centers of Gyeongnam Province, so the reduction and weakness of input and output factor were found. We used the CCR, BCC model of Data Envelopment Analysis as a method of evaluation, made a choice human resource as the input variable, made a selection the performance of health care center, ward as the output variable. The results show that 12(60%) public health centers in 20 were productive with respective to overall Technical Efficiency(average score 0.868), 14(70%) with respective to overall Pure Technical Efficiency(average score 0.924) and 12(60%) with respective to overall Scale Efficiency(average score 0.933). It is expected that this research can provide a good data for effective management of public health centers.
The relationship of Achievement Goal and Academic Achievement in Department of Occupational Therapy Students for Learner Centered Education Approach

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of academic achievement and the achievement goal of students of Department of occupational therapy in Gyeongnam Province. 106 students in the department of occupational therapy filled out a questionnaire. For this study, Elliot & Church`s Achievement Goal and GPA were used. The achievement goal was subdivided into the mastery goal, the performance approach goal, and the performance avoidance goal. The GPA from the previous semester was used. The results of this study were as follows. Female students received higher grades on all of the Achievement Goals than male. The results of the performance approach goal decreased as the students` class seniority increased. The performance approach goal showed academic achievement correlated positively with performance approach, but correlated negatively with the performance avoidance goal. The negative achievement goal got lower as the seniority of students increased. On the basis of these results, an educational approach is necessary for the positive achievement goal where an understanding of the students` individual characteristics are account for in the achievement goal.
Analysis of Effects of Yoga and Music Therapies on the Care of Alcohol dependents

Yoga meditation and music therapy are considered to be appropriate for the spiritual and mental treatment for the patients and employed in many clinics and rehabilitation centers as an alternative medicine. This study aims at the analysis of the effects of yoga and music on the treatment of alcoholism. For this, yoga and music treatments were executed for the patients hospitalized in an alcohol clinic hospital in Gimhae district. Only the patients who were judged as alcohol dependents by a psychiatrist with a diagnostic criteria of DSM-IV participated in the study. During five weeks, from November 10, 2009 to December 29, yoga program was practiced two times per week, totaling 10 times, and music therapy was practiced one time per week, totaling 5 times. Among the patients participated in the programs, 44patients were selected finally. They are 16 patients who performed all the yoga programs, and 28 patients who fulfilled all the music therapies. A survey was conducted on them to estimate the effects of yoga and music treatments for the three cases of `angry behavior`, `anger expression`, and `psychological state at interview`. The results show that yoga and music treatments have positive effects on the patients, although the statistical significance is not so great. However, the more reliable and significant results could be obtained in further studies by prolongation of the practice period, and by introducing the clinical information such as brain mapping to compensate the emotional bias of the patients.

The administration data of the national health insurance and health insurance bills were utilized in this study. The data of 485,953 patients who were at the age of 30 and up and used the out-patient departments of every medical institution located in some regions involving two southern and northern provinces once or more during a 184-day period from July to December, 2008. As a result of analyzing their Continuity of Ambulatory Care and factors affecting it, the following findings were given: The continuity of ambulatory care among the adult patients with hypertension in our country turned out to be on a high level(MMCI

The findings of the study illustrated that the average continuity of ambulatory care among the adult patients with hypertension in our country was on a high level, and it seemed that special care should be provided to patients with a low-level continuity of ambulatory care, such as women and elderly people aged 64 and over. The findings of the study are expected to serve as one of the barometers for the health care of patients with hypertension and for the performance of national hypertension management plans.
Effects on the Psychosocial Health Status of Job Stress and Job-related Characteristics among Clerical Public Officers using the Structural Equation Model

The effects of job related factors on psychosocial health status were examined by taking job stress into account. The self-administered questionnaires were performed, during the period between Oct. 1st, 2009 and Nov. 30th, 2009, to 805 individuals in the service of general administration located in Daejeon City. Causal relationships between job related factors, job stress, and, psychosocial health status were examined by structural equation model. The main finding as follows: For correlations of such indices of psychosocial health status as PWI and MFS with various studied items, all of these two indices were found to be in a negative correlation with the job position, job career, satisfaction in job life, autonomy of job, supervisors support and coworkers support, whereas in positive correlation with the experience of sick absence per year and job demand. With the analysis of structural equation model, the degree of job stress factors was more influential on the level of psychosocial health status than job related factors in such a manner as that the greater the job stress, while the lower the job related factors, the higher the psychosocial health status(PWI and MFS). Moreover, it was found to have the inter-relational effects that the greater the job related factors, the lower the job stress factors. Thus the effective strategy for stress and fatigue symptoms reduction among governmental employees requires additional programs focusing on innovated job specifications.
Quality Characteristics of Cookies with Garlic Paste

This study investigated the quality characteristics of the cookies with garlic paste. Five different paste concentration levels of 0, 40, 80, 120 and 140g were added to 400g flour to make the cookie. In terms of color, the L-value and b-value of control group was higher than that with the garlic paste added. In the case of the a-value of garlic paste added group was higher than that with the control group. Among the textural characteristics hardness was decreased according to the addition level of garlic paste. For the sensory evaluation, apperance, taste, texture and overall acceptability were excellent in the group with the addition of 40g garlic paste. From the results of this study, the cookie with 40g garlic paste added content was shown to have the best quality.

In order to examine whether the accommodative trainings with push-up or flipper methods induce the decrement of near addition on early presbyopia aged in 40s having less than 1.00 D addition, daily home vision training was performed for 12 weeks. We evaluated accommodative amplitude, accommodative facility, relative accommodation, and presbyopic addition at every one week. Two accommodative trainings significantly decreased the presbyopic addition as a degree from 0.125 D to 0.375 D, and push-up training was more effective than that of flipper training. Both push-up and flipper trainings are an useful methods to decrease the near addition of early presbyopia as an improvement of the accommodative amplitude.

The video transmission system using OFDM method at 18GHz frequency band was developed for wireless video transmission from subway to monitoring center when subway running. It is composed of digital modulation board and RF board. And it has a robust characteristics of multipath fading in subway tunnels at 18GHz. To verify the system, we used spectrum analyzer for analysing the output of transmission system and get the results that it has 350MHz frequency, 8MHz bandwidth and -19dBm channel power. Also we tested video receiving using MPEG-2 encoder and got good quality images.

In this paper, an architecture for modified Euclidean(ME) algorithm is proposed, which is using finite-state machine(FSM) instead of degree computation. Since the proposed architecture does not have degree computation circuits, it is possible to reduce the hardware complexity of RS(Reed-Solomon) decoder, so that a very high-speed RS decoder can be implemented. RS(255,239) decoder with the proposed architecture is implemented using Verilog-HDL and requires about 13% fewer gate counts than conventional one.

A new scheme for variable structure control design which is based on eigenvalues assignment of sliding mode is developed. In conventional methods, generally, specific type of system matrix like canonical or regular form is required to construct a switching surface. Furthermore, the methods are not explicit. The new method in this paper solved the problems. No special type of system matrix is required and very explicit. It is shown that the switching surface can be constructed and determined uniquely without any dependency on the system form. The proposed method is based on the fact that the dynamics of sliding mode is determined by system zeros. Finally, a numerical example is given to verify the validity of the results studied in this paper.

Authoring AR(augmented-reality) contents not only takes too much time and cost, but also needs the help of professionals in the areas of computer science, VR(virtual reality), AR, 3D computer graphics, computer vision, etc. In this paper, we analyze the difficulties(inherent to developing AR contents) into three problems and present a formalized authoring approach for AR contents. The proposed approach is based on the Statecharts, which was originally designed for modeling real-time embedded systems. In order to apply he Statecharts to modeling AR contents, we defined the semantics of the Statecharts and various events for interaction modeling.

Current puretone audiometer takes an operation model, so called face-to-face model, in which model an audiometrist assesses only one subject at a time. Such model results in high cost and long waiting time when there exist many patients. In order to solve such a disadvantage of face-to-face model, we have developed PC-based audiometer supporting client/server model, in which model one audiometrist is able to measure several subjects concurrently. This model has an architecture like that several PCs for subjects are connected to an audiometrist`s PC through LAN and each assessment process of subjects are displayed onto audiometrist`s monitor in real time. And if necessary, it makes possible for audometrist to adjust the assessment progress of particular subject like as a face to face model.

In this paper, the performance of ad-hoc wireless network protocols is analyzed under the vehicular communication environments. We estimate the throughput and delay of the protocols with packet sizes and various data traffics in expressways and metropolis by using QualNet simulator. It turns out that the performance of DSR protocol is better in expressways and the performance of AODV works well in metropolitan areas. Therefore, it is necessary that the proper protocols should be selected to provide the better performance according to the vehicular communication environments.

Myocardial imaging in SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed tomography) scan of the gamma-ray emitting radiopharmaceuticals to patients after intravenous radiopharmaceuticals evenly spread in the heart region of interest by recording changes in the disease caused by a computer using the PSA test is to diagnose. Containing information on the functional myocardial perfusion imaging is a useful way to examine non-invasive heart disease, but the argument by noise and low resolution of the physical landscape that is difficult to give. For this paper, the level of myocardial imaging by using the three algorithms to split the video into 3-D implementation of the partitioned area to help you read the proposed plan. To solve the difficulty of reading level, interest in using the sheet set, partitioned area of the left ventricle was ranked the partitioned area was modeled as a 3-D images.

In this paper, we describe an ontology-based context aware model that collects context information from USN sensor and CCTV image and reasons about context in order to development an integrated security control system in the industrial environments. The context model represents autonomous and heterogeneous data as ontologies and recognizes the context through DL(description logic) inference in the smart computing environment. We expect that the integrated security control system can automatically detects the risk in the industrial field and reduces the safety and security incidents by applying this context model to the system.

The requirements for automated handing of business process and its monitoring usually have a proprietary form for each enterprise. Unlike the conventional database transaction, business process takes long time for its completion and incorporates very complex handling logics along with business situations. Since those handling logics are frequently changing in accordance with the business policies or environment, enterprises want to integrally capture the whole business semantics while monitoring those process instances. In this paper, we adopted GMA(Grid Monitoring Architecture) for the integrated monitoring of business processes. The GMA(Grid Monitoring Architecture) is a very scalable architecture to effectively monitor and manage monitoring information under the heterogeneous environment. By introducing complex event handling features into GMA to support various processing logics, we could implement a system that enables automated execution and high-level monitoring of business processes.

The performance of Genetic Algorithms (GA) is affected by various factors such as parameters, genetic operators and strategies. The traditional approach with random initial population is efficient however the whole initial population may contain many infeasible solutions. Thus it would take a long time for GA to produce a good solution. The GA have been modified in various ways to achieve faster convergence and it was particularly recognized by researchers that initial population greatly affects the performance of GA. This study proposes modified GA with sorted initial population and applies it to solving Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP). Normally, the bigger the initial the population is the more computationally expensive the calculation becomes with each generation. New approach allows reducing the size of the initial problem and thus achieve faster convergence. The proposed approach is tested on a simulator built using object-oriented approach and the test results prove the validity of the proposed method.

In this paper, we investigate the vibration analysis of plates, using an 8-node shell element that accounts for the transverse shear strains and rotary inertia. The forced vibration analysis of plates subjected to arbitrary loading is investigated. In order to overcome membrane and shear locking phenomena, the assumed natural strain method is used. To improve an 8-node shell element for forced vibration analysis, the new combination of sampling points for assumed natural strain method was applied. The refined first-order shear deformation theory based on Reissner-Mindlin theory which allows the shear deformation without shear correction factor and rotary inertia effect to be considered is adopted for development of 8-node assumed strain shell element. In order to validate the finite element numerical solutions, the reference solutions of plates are presented. Results of the present theory show good agreement with the reference solution. In addition the effect of damping is investigated on the forced vibration analysis of plates.
Durability Enhancement of Textile Materials for Thermotherapy Massager

The wear and abrasion mechanism of conventional PET/Cotton fabric which is used as a lining layer for thermotherapy massager was elaborately investigated in order to increase the life-span of the fabrics for Thermotherapy Massager. Based on the destruction mechanism, the feasible PET fabrics were prepared and its anti-wearing performance was evaluated. It is revealed that the wearing destruction is mainly caused by the repeat abrasion on a specific part of folded fabric as well as abrasion itself. Therefore, it is necessary that the prevention of fabric folding while massager is running is essential and the recovery from the crease on a fabric is also necessary to solve this problem. Covered elastic yarn, high twisted yarn, change of fabric structure or different fiber were utilized to prepare the possible alternatives. As a result, the anti-wearing performance of the fabrics are greatly improved to have about 2 times and 1.5 times longer life-span for the fabric with covered elastic yarn and high twisted yarn, respectively.

This study was performed about color-contained mud to provide fun and diversity for the event of mud self massage as a core program of Boryeong Mud Festival which has become one of representative festivals in Korea. Adjusting its own lower brightness of mud and based on the primary study performed about the expressivity of yellowish colors, inorganic colors (oxidized steel in red, ultra marine pink, ultra marine blue, chrome oxide green) were added for the development of colored mud in diverse colors on the basis of Korean traditional colors. It had been judged about each expressivity of color by methods of colormeter, naked eyes inspection and feeling of usage, etc. For the color decided, it had been examined about the coloring when it got wet with the cleaning condition so that it can be used for the event of mud self massage as a program of Boryeong Mud Festival to increase diversity of the Festival and also attempted to develope colored mud to show Korean traditional colors.

Corrosion is a complex series of oxidation/reduction reactions between at the water-metal surfaces and materials in which the water is stored or transported. With respect to the corrosion potential of drinking water, the primary concerns include the potential presence of toxic metals, such as lead and copper; deterioration and damage to the household plumbing, and aesthetic problems such as stained laundry, and bitter taste. Decrease of corrosion rates were strongly related to phosphate corrosion inhibitors. Considering that typical corrosion processes consists of a series of electrochemical reaction at the metal surface in contact with water, corrosion rates were positively correlated with Fe release.
Synthesis and Properties of Copolyterephthalamides Containing Biphenyl-2,2`-diyl Structure

Three series of copolyterephthalamides having biphenyl-2,2`-diyl structure in the main chain, were synthesized from p-phenylene-containing diamines such as p-phenylene diamine, 4,4`-oxydianiline or 1,4-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzene, with mixed diacids of terephthalic acid and 2,2`-bibenzoic acid by the direct polycondensation method. The resulting copolymers had inherent viscosities ranging from 0.46 to 0.93dL/g, and most of them could be readily dissolved in polar aprotic solvents including N,N-dimethyl acetamide and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone.
