On the Oil Film Behaviors of Engine Bearing Considering Crankshaft Misalignment

The purpose of this paper is to analyze dynamic behaviors of the oil film thickness and engine bearings in both aligned and misaligned operation conditions of a crankshaft using computer simulation techniques. A crankshaft as an elastic body is modeled for a misaligned crankshaft which is very important design parameter of the film thickness and engine bearings. In this analysis, a dynamic characteristic of a minimum oil film is analyzed based on the elastohydrodynamic lubrication theory. The boundary conditions for analyzing the film behaviors include non-linear constraint forces and bending moments in engine bearings. The more expedient model of an engine bearing is extended to consider the effect of crankshaft misalignment. The computed results indicate that the minimum oil film thickness that causes a major influence on the performance of engine bearings has showed a decrease of 16% to 24% for the misaligned crankshaft compared with an aligned crankshaft. The computed results show that the misalignment of a crankshaft inevitably brings the reduction of minimum oil film thickness and this may increase the failure of a bearing. These results as design parameters are very useful for a bearing designer as a firm reference data of an automotive engine.
Identification of Thermal Flow Boundary Conditions for Three-way Catalytic Converter Using Optimization Techniques

Three-way catalyst durability in the Korea requires 5 years/80,000km in 1988 but require 10 years/120,000km after 2002. Domestic three-way catalyst satisfies exhaust gas conversion efficiency or pressure drop etc. but don`t satisfy thermal durability. Three-way catalyst maintains high temperature in interior domain but maintain low temperature on outside surface. This study evaluated thermal durability of three-way catalyst by thermal flow and structure analysis and the procedure is as followings. Thermal flow parameters ranges were determined by vehicle test and basic thermal flow analysis. Response surface for rear catalyst temperature was constructed using the design of experiment (DOE) for thermal flow parameters. Thermal flow parameters for rear catalyst temperature in vehicles examination were predicted by desirability function. Temperature distribution of three-way catalyst was estimated by thermal flow analysis for predicted thermal flow parameters.
Spin Test of 5 kWh Composite Flywheel Rotor

A 5 kWh composite flywheel rotor was designed and manufactured, and its spin test was performed to monitor strain distribution and burst speed. Strain distribution in radial and circumferential directions of the rotor were measured using a wireless telemetry system based on bluetooth technology for real-time strain measurement. The strains was compared with pre-calculated design values to verify the initial rotor design. We noticed the rotor failed at 19,499 rpm in the spin test, 11 % lower than the predicted burst speed of 22,000 rpm. Failure occurred at the hub which connects the shaft and the composite rotor. The performance of the composite rotor was confirmed in a general sense, and the danger of unexpected failure of composite rotor during high-speed spinning was also demonstrated in this paper. Special attention should be paid to not only composite rotor but also hub when designing a flywheel energy storage system. The telemetry system needs to be further developed, especially enduring the high centrifugal forces, and can be used in a real time monitoring system for the flywheel energy storage system.
Thermal Design of a MR16 LED Light with the Effects of Ceiling Unit Mount

The most important cause for shortening LED lighting efficiency and life is the junction temperature rises and, to solve this problem, various studies such as thermally efficient packaging, highly conductive material development, contact resistance improvement or heat sink optimization have been studied. However, most studies so far assumed that the LED lights are in the atmosphere, and thermal performance has not been therefore reported when the LED lights are mounted on the ceiling with ceiling unit. Thus, this study investigates the variation of junction temperature of the MR16 LED light under actual installation conditions and more accurate thermal design for the efficiency and life of LED lights is therefore achieved.
Probabilistic Approach for Fatigue Life of Composite Materials with Impact-Induced Damage

This paper presents the probabilistic analysis for fatigue life of Glass/Epoxy laminates with impact-induced damage. For this, a series of impact tests were perfomed on the Glass/Epoxy laminates using instrumented impact testing machine. Then, tensile and fatigue tests carried out so as to generate post-impact residual strength and fatigue life. Two Parameter Weibull distribution was used to fit the residual strength and fatigue life data of Glass/Epoxy composite laminates. The residual strength was affected by impact energy and their variance decreased with increasing of impact energy. The fatigue life of impacted laminates was greatly reduced by impact energy and this trend depended on applied stress amplitude. Additionally, the variation of fatigue life was gradually decreased with the applied stress amplitude.
Analysis of Weladbility on Resistance Spot Weld for 3 Steel Sheets of Automotive Car Body Using Simulation Method and Nugget Growth Curve

Nowadays, most car manufactures have tried to improve fuel efficiency and corrosion resistance of car body. Therefore, use of high strength steels and coated steel becomes more and more increased. In this study, spot weld characteristics according to lap sequence of sheets were analyzed using simulation method for three different steel sheet of car body which were EDDQ class coated steel with 0.7t, high strength steel 440R with 1.2t and advanced high strength steel DP 590 with 1.0t. Using simulation, weldability was evaluated by nugget size of welded zone according to nugget growth curve and welding current with respect to lap sequence of sheets. Contact resistance of each sheets contact point was used to analyze formation of nugget and optimal lap sequence was suggested.

A Study on the Displacement of Lumber Support Affecting the Comfortableness of Passenger

Lumber support as the part of automotive seat supports the pressure applied on waist by clearing the tiredness of passenger at long driving. In this study, lumbar support of automotive seat is modelled. Various bids are built up at its bed. The main purpose is to look for adequate model on comfortableness by calculating displacement according to applied force when some passenger sit at automotive seat. Full build -up type of 5 rows can be seen most suitable for passenger`s comfortableness and its durability as the inner displacement of 5mm and contact force of 500 N.
Life Prediction of Composite Pressure Vessels Using Multi-Scale Approach

A multi-scale fatigue life prediction methodology of composite pressure vessels subjected to multi-axial loading has been proposed in this paper. The multi-scale approach starts from the constituents, fiber, matrix and interface, leading to predict behavior of ply, laminates and eventually the composite structures. The multi-scale fatigue life prediction methodology is composed of two steps: macro stress analysis and micro mechanics of failure based on fatigue analysis. In the macro stress analysis, multi-axial fatigue loading acting at laminate is determined from finite element analysis of composite pressure vessel, and ply stresses are computed using a classical laminate theory. The micro stresses are calculated in each constituent from ply stresses using a micromechanical model. Three methods are employed in predicting fatigue life of each constituent, i.e. a maximum stress method for fiber, an equivalent stress method for multi-axially loaded matrix, and a critical plane method for the interface. A modified Goodman diagram is used to take into account the generic mean stresses. Damages from each loading cycle are accumulated using Miner`s rule. Monte Carlo simulation has been performed to predict the overall fatigue life of a composite pressure vessel considering statistical distribution of material properties of each constituent, fiber volume fraction and manufacturing winding angle.
Experimental Study on the Rotational Speed Measuring Condition of a Gasoline Fuel Pump for a Small-Size Engine

To develop gasoline engine fuel pump, it is needed to measure the rotational speed of the pump. In general, because gasoline fuel pump is submerged in the fuel tank, it is difficult to measure the rotational speed directly. Currently, there are two popular methods measuring the rotational speed. One of them is using a piezoelectric accelerometer, and the other is using a current sensor. Originally, a piezoelectric accelerometer had been applied to measure the frequency of the motor vibration. A current sensor is measuring current frequency of the commutator slot. In this study, both the piezoelectric accelerometer and the current sensor have been applied on the fuel pump to calculate the rotational speed at the same time. As a result, the current sensor delivered highly accurate rotational speed information compared with that of the piezoelectric accelerometer. Especially, low rotational speed region, the current sensor shows very robust measuring characteristics. To measure the rotational speed within 1% error, the piezoelectric accelerometer needs to be set with less then 0.5Hz datum storage interval, and the current sensor needs to be set with less then 2.0Hz datum storage interval.
Definition and Verification of the Dynamic Characteristics of the Anti-Vibration Mount for the Numerical Analysis

Because the non-linear property of the rubber, the elastic modulus and damping factor of the rubber mount are dependent on the frequency. Therefore, the dynamic properties of the rubber mount should be considered when the anti-vibration mount is designed. Especially, when the numerical analysis is performed, the results can have much errors not considering the dynamic characteristics of the rubber mount. In this paper, the dynamic properties of typical standard rubber mount approved by ROK navy are defined experimentally and the results from the numerical analysis and experiment are compared for considering and non-considering the dynamic properties of the rubber mount respectively.
A Study on a Decision Making Model of Prioritization of Supporting Policies for Regional Strategic Industries in Chung-nam

The regional strategic industry support has been increasingly developed due to the change of environmental and political conditions for the last 10 years. As the paradigm changed from the central government-sponsored system to regional government-sponsored system, the policy has been diversified into various support systems such as regional strategic industry, specialized industry, supporting technology, supporting business, etc. It is crucial to establish the overall development plans and project strategies for the regional industry in terms of effectiveness and efficiency which will generate an integrated strategic frame to adjust overlapped supporting policies and offer a consumer-oriented service. Not only does the study focus on performance-based outcome regarding to a regional business (supporting policy) portfolio, but it also analyzes and proves an empirical decision-making model to draw out the priority and relative importance according to the regional strategic industry and support cases by analyzing the case of Chungnam area`s strategic industry support in 2009. Following a priority list of 20 support cases selected from this research model by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the result shows that the diverse support plans are needed according to the different strategic industries or the size of enterprise due to the fact that priority of project type varies upon the characteristics of strategic industry. Thus, the support project needs to generate various strategic industries and develop differentiated support policy to consolidate competitiveness of regional enterprises and revitalize the regional economy.
The Technology Forecasting for the Biometrics System by Using Delphi Method

This paper suggested the future technologies of biometrics system by using Delphi method. The level of technology were also evaluated. The group for the Delphi analysis consisted of 30 experts involved in biometrics. This study also suggested the 10 future core technologies of biometrics system including Body-signal DB technology and Bio-signal analysis technology, etc. From the technological importance point of view, several technologies were suggested as critical ones including the manufacturing technology of semiconductor micro-sensor and bio-sensor, etc. This research also forecasted the realization time of each technology and gave shape the detail goal performances. This research will be able to contribute to deciding the priority order and setting the direction of biometrics R&D planning.
An Empirical Study on the Influence of Franchisor`s Company Owned Outlet before Franchising to Franchisor`s Current Performance

Franchise Industry has a big portion in national economy, and contributes to protecting self-employments and making jobs. One of good way to increase the success of franchise business is operating some franchisor`s company owned outlets before franchising. The purpose of this research is to understand the effects of the company owned outlets on franchisor`s current performance. According to the result, the operation term, scale, and location of company owned outlet increase the legitimacy of franchisor. The influence of tax credit on firm`s innovation performance

For a long time, most of advanced countries have supported the innovative firms with various support methods such as tax credit, subsidy, human resource education, and so on. Tax credit for innovation is the most popular industrial policy in these countries including Korea. However, in Korea, the effect of tax credit policy has been rarely analyzed. On the other hand, a considerable number of studies discover that tax credit policy in other countries influences positively on invest of R&D expenditure. This paper shows that tax credit policy positively influences on firm`s innovation performances in Korea. The evaluated innovative effect of tax credit policy in this paper is more persuasive because it introduces various innovation performance variables including patent application with Propensity score matching method(PSM).
Dynamic manufacturing scheduling using multi-agent-system in FMS

As flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) are highly automated and required flexibility to satisfy market need, dispatching rules are constrained by specific environments of manufacturing systems such as mechanical failures, absence of employees, and lack of spare parts. In this paper, an ontology-based knowledge approach is proposed to improve efficiency of system through adapting suitable dispatching rules, considering context in a FMS shop floor, which consists multiple manufacturing cells. the multi-agents monitor manufacturing system status and job so that it figures out a dispatching rule considering context. To demonstrate the proposed approach, a proof-of-concept prototype system has been implemented in the
platform and Protege to make OWL DL ontology.
Factors of the Acceptance Affecting the e-Payment System : Focusing on service quality and social influence

A number of people using e-payment system has been increasing drastically during the recent period and the trend still continues. The purpose of this article was to investigate the effect of service quality and social factors on the e-payment system acceptance and the moderating effects of self-efficacy in the perspective of the interactional approach. In this research, data were collected from 2331 e-payment system users with structured questionnaires and analyzed using regression analysis method. This research found that security, responsiveness, mass media, word of mouth, security and self-efficacy of interaction effect have significant positive effects on acceptance intension. The result of this research showed that the social influence and self-efficacy interactional approach are more adequate than only service quality in accounting for the e-payment system acceptance.
The impact of contents and system characteristics on online game usage : Focused on MMORPG

The purpose of this study is to investigate the contents and system characteristics of online game and analyzed how these characteristics are related to the flow and online game usage. For this purpose, we identified character customization, storytelling traits, item properties as the contents characteristics of online game(MMORPG) and user interface and ease of community usage as the system characteristics of online game(MMORPG) based on previous researches and in-depth interviews from MMORPG users. The results of this paper revealed that character customization, storytelling traits and item properties positively influence the flow, however, game reality has not impact on the flow. In the system characteristics, only ease of community usage positively influence the flow at a significant level. Furthermore, it is proven that flow has an impact online game usage. Implications and directions for future research are discussed.
Effects of the interplay between organizational and national cultures in an international university-industry collaboration for technology innovation and transfer

The purpose of the study was to understand how the interplay between organizational and national cultures affects the management of IUICs (International University-Industry Collaboration) devoted to technology innovation and transfer. This study presents two examples of IUIC drawn from a qualitative research method, both involving a British university and a Japanese company. The first case illustrates how different organizational practices (organizational culture), which are nested in the national culture (values), raise questions about the role of ethical boundaries in causing misunderstandings and the deterioration of UIC relationships. The second case demonstrates how long-term relationships and extensive interpersonal interactions can play a positive role in IUIC. Practical implications, the limitation of this study and further studies have been discussed.
A Study on Development of Exercise Simulation System out of regard for Korea`s Armed Forces

Preparing to reclaim the wartime operational control of South Korea`s armed forces, Korea Military have to embattle the right capability in relation to conduct of the war. Although Korea Military are operating Joint Exercise Simulation Training System, they are having a lot of difficulties because of interoperability according to a joint exercise with USA military and pursue an independent korea military models. Therefore this study analyzes technical problems and proposes some measures to establish Exercise Simulation System out of regard for South Korea`s self defense.
The Study of Development of permanent wave for Additives of Collagen

In this study, in order to find effects of collagen manipulation on hair in permanent wave treatment, it was conducted measurement and analysis on hair curl formation, thickness, tensile strength, methylene blue absorbance, and moisture loss after manipulating concentration proportion of collagen in permanent wave treatment on normal hair. As a result, it was found that by contrast with applying the reductant, hair thickness, tensile strength, methylene blue absorbance, and moisture loss were decreased when applied collagen in permanent wave treatment the higher concentration proportion of collagen was applied, the less damage was occurred on hair However curl formation capacity was decreased in permanent wave treatment as concentration proportion of collagen was increased. Therefore, the appropriate concentration proportion of collagen was 2% in order to reduce hair damage in permanent wave treatment.
The Effect of Ear-Therapy on Change of Adolescence Brain Function

This experiment, through the use of Ear-Therapy by a Cylindrical bar, analyzed the change of adolescence brain function. For this experiment, from the months of Nov. until Dec. 2009, 41 subjects were selected students the experimental group 21, the comparison group 20 that adolescence lives in Kyonggi-do southern region. pre and post treatment were measured with a paired t-test. The results of study confirmed significant change of mental relaxation quotient. Therefore, this results show that Ear-Therapy is a effective for mental stress reduction and mental relaxation in adolescence brain function.
An Application of Recursive Method for Efficient Retrieval in Business Material Management

In business material management, as the number of products and their parts increases, the employment of databases becomes inevitable. Many researchers have tried to incorporate semantics in traditional models using logic programming, resulting in the deductive method. However, since the designer of this method does not overcome the traditional design concept of relational method, there have been not much successful implementations in deductive method. Therefore, this paper propose the new way designing the retrieval methods for deductive databases and using those relations the query that makes recursive retrievals possible and hypotheses test in business material management.
A Study on Strategic Plan for Conflict Management in Family Travel by Age

This study attempted to identify the strategic factors of conflict management in making decisions of family travel by age focusing on the different conflicts occurred in the family travel currently in Korea. by doing this, it tried to provide the basic data that can draw out constant participation, higher involvement and commitment by identifying the strategies for conflict management centering around not only tourism studies of tourist psychology and behavior but also the strategic variables of conflict management in terms of the promotion of tourism industry. To examine the result of this study, first, it was found that in all age groups, strategies of compromise and moderation strategy to meet the needs of surrounding people and the person him/herself were used as a strategic plan for conflict management between decision-makers and conflicting groups. Second, it was analyzed that when a conflict is caused, from order to negotiation strategies; from authority to democratic strategy, they turned out to make efforts to solve the conflicts occurred during family travel by collecting the opinions of the surrounding people; tune the opinions; and make decisions by majority. Lastly, it was found that they turned out to make efforts to ease the conflicts caused during family travel through active problem-solving regarding internal/interpersonal/structural restriction factors.

This study solves the decision making problems for TFT-LCD manufacturing supply chain with demand and price uncertainties by establishing robust production and distribution strategies. In order to control the decisions regarding production graded by quality, inventory level and distribution, this study develop scenario model based stochastic mixed integer linear programs (SMILPs) that consider demand and price uncertainties as well as realistic constraints such as capacities etc. The performance of the solution obtained from the SMILPs using robust algorithms will be evaluated through various scenarios.
Preliminary Analysis of Language Styles between South and North Korean Broadcastings

This study compared South and North Korean broadcasting languages to measure the language differences due to the long segregation. This study would provide fundamental database on the language uses between South and North Korea. The KLIWC analyzed the text that was selected from news clips of South and North Korean broadcasting agencies. The results showed that North Korean languages were significantly different from South in terms of affective, cognitive, and social words. In addition, North Korean broadcasting used more person pronoun and a part of speech than South Korean broadcasting. Psychological interpretations were provided based on the language differences.
A Study on the Effect of Neurofeedback Traing on the hearing impairments Student about Resistance Stress

This study was to examine the effectiveness of neurofeedback training by observing the pre and post brainwave measurement results of about 16(Primary Student 6, middle school student10) student who have shown resistance stress and body stress, mental stress. The study was examined at S city M dong A hearing impairments student, from Mar. 2008 and to Feb. 2009. The methodology used in the study is the Coloring Analysis Program of the Brain Quotient Test. As the brain waves are adjusted by timeseries linear analysis, the brain function quotients can reflect the functional states of the brain. The training took place two times a week, for about 40 minutes per session. The result confirmed the differences of both resistance stress quotient and body stress, mental stress. The results of the analysis show that neurofeedback training plays positive role in changing the brain function. Therefore, the result of the study shows that there is possibility that Neuro Feedback technique might be positively affecting resistance stress of the hearing impairments student, relationship between neurofeedback training and stress among several categories.
Anti-wrinkle Effect of Oriental Medicine Cosmetics Containing Black Ginseng

This study evaluated anti-wrinkle effect using toner and lotion containing ginsenoside Rg3 enriched black ginseng in oriental medicine like Liriope platy phyllla, Inonotus obliquus, Glycyrrhiza glabra and nourishing of the blood and energy(Atractylodes japonica, Poria cocos Wolf, Angelica gigas, Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, Cnidii Rhizoma, Paeonia lactiflora). 6 female adults on average at the age of 42.5 applied lotion after toner under the normal conditions of use on the face including crow`s feed area, twice a day (in the morning and evening) for 4weeks. After 4 weeks, the replica of eye wrinkle was made and analyzed the image. The result was decreased in R1(
), and R5(
)(P<0.05). Therefore, oriental medicine cosmetics containing black ginseng may play a role anti-wrinkle.
Clinical Contents Model for Laboratory Result Exchange

Due to the acceleration of medical information age, the semantic interoperability of clinical information is rising up as a major issue. The laboratory results are known as the best significant area among clinical information to be required for exchanging and sharing. The aim of this research is to develop the clinical contents model for exchange laboratory results. This research was conducted from March 2008 to September 2008. Firstly, the method is to get the attributes and codes from LOINC which is one of the standard medical terminology system related to laboratory and the Reference Information Model(RIM) of Health Level 7(HL7). Secondly, the attributes from each work process around orders and reports of laboratory was analyzed. We evaluated the attributes whether they could be represented into the attributes contained in HL7`s RIM. Thirdly, the prototype for hemoglobin case using the structure of clinical contents model and defined attribute. Fourthly, the face validity was done by one laboratory physician with four clinicians. The assessment contents were for the suitability involved in representation and exchange with proposed model. The results shows that the model corresponds with the aim of the research. Eventually the proposed model for the exchange of laboratory results could contributes to information interchange according to laboratory area for the future.
National hospital discharge survey for the hospitals with fewer than 100 beds: A pilot project and evaluation

This study has been carried out against hospitals with less than 100 beds, which were excluded from the previous study on the discharged patients from January 1 to December 31, 2007. To analyze the discharged patients, the general characteristics of discharged patients, means of payment for medical costs, type of disease and surgery and current status of the use of medical services have been investigated based on the medical records. During the year of 2007, the number of discharged patients from the hospitals with less than 100 beds reached 4,697,095 (9.7% of total population). In other words, 9,693 people were discharged from a hospital per 100,000 populations with 9.8 days in terms of annual mean length of hospitalization. The number of patients who returned home after hospitalization reached 4,538,861 (male: 1,784,041, female: 2,754,821) while 119,378 patients were evacuated to other hospitals. Among them, 8,970 patients were returned back to the original hospital. Based on the results of this study, they could be used in could be used in planning a project which is aimed to reduce public health costs by investigating high-risk groups with particular injuries and preventing damage. In addition, the injury monitoring data which are continuously collected could be useful in monitoring and evaluating the efficiency of an injury prevention program.
The Change of Salivary and Oral Bacteria Amount by Composition of SLS Contents of Toothpaste

Dentifrices comtaining SLS of 2.2% and 0.0% were applied to 60 subjects for 4 weeks in this study. Dentifrice is used for salivary and oral bacteria amount change according to its SLS contents in toothpaste. The results were as follows. Anaysis of LSL contents befor and after the after experiment in salivary and bacterial count oral cavity didn`t show significant difference in time interval. There was no correlation between salivary flow rate and bacterial count in the oral cavity according to content of SLS. Dentifrice of 2.2% content satisfied the subjects much more than that of 0.0% content(p<0.001).
Shielding Effect according to the Direction of Control Room Door Opening during Radiography

It is recommended that the door of control room is closed during radiography to protect a radiologic technologist. However, for those patients such as of emergency or pediatrics, the door must be kept open unavoidably to apply immediate medical administration and treatment on the potential case of emergency which could be happened through the course of radiography. In addition, it could be efficient by reducing patients waiting time when the door is open for a general case. This study was conducted to evaluate practical exposure rate to a radiologic technologist when the door is open during the radiography, and to find out the ways to minimize radiation exposure and to increase the efficiency simultaneously. Measuring practical exposure rate was fulfilled with glass dosimeter, and it was 2.02 mGy/week at the location of radiologic technologist under the condition that the door is open during the radiography, which was about 2.3 times higher than the 100 mR/week. It means that the considerable amount of scattered rays through the door opening, and increase exposure rate at the radiologic technologist. Hence we confirmed that a radiologic technologist probably overexposed if the door is open during the radiography. It was also confirmed by the Monte Carlo simulation that the exposure rate could be reduced up to approximately 1/100 by change only the door opening direction. In conclusion, since the proper door opening direction provides same shielding effect whether it is open or close, the door opening direction need to be considered when it is installed at radiography facilities.

By identifying the patterns of diabetes and high blood pressure with elderly people in a certain region, this study was intented to obtain the basic information for the improvement of the elderly health. In this analysis, CART was used for studying the pattern for chronic illness, - with the basis on survival factor by each sex, marital status, occupation, methods of health management and age. Occupation related to agriculture showed the highest cases of diabetes. But in the occupations related to fishing industry and public service, number of diabetics were minimal. With occupations related to trades and others, the cases of diabetes increased as the age increased in 80`s and 90`s. In recent years, the elderly population is ever increasing. In addition, elderly health situation is surfacing as a significant social issue - this is especially the cases as their allowed activities are becoming even more limited. Therefore it is important to improve the functions for their livelihood and increase their satisfaction of life by considering their quality of life, so they could live the rest of their lives happily and comfortably.
Quantitative Evaluation of Skin Condition According to Ayurvedic Constitution Classification

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of facial skin parameters (hydration, lipid and pH) on forehead and cheek according to Ayurvedic constitution classification of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The condition of hydration, lipid and pH in the facial skin was measured using non-invasive diagnostic technique. The collected data was analyzed with the SPSS 16.0 windows statistical program. Design: Eighty-nine Korean female subjects were recruited for this study and the average age of them was
years. Three groups by the Ayurvedic constitution were classified by questionnaire. Results: There was a significant difference in hydration, lipid and pH according to Ayurvedic constitution. The measurement of hydration on the face depending on the constitution were shown in the order of Pitta, Kapha and Vata (p<0.001). The measurement of lipid on the face depending on the constitution were shown in the order of Kapha, Pitta and Vata (p<0.001, p<0.01). The measurement of pH on the face depending on the constitution were shown in the order of Kapha, Pitta and Vata (p<0.01). Conclusion: Facial skin surface seemed to be dependent on Ayurvedic constitution classification in Korean. These findings indicated that Ayurvedic constitution classification might be a useful esthetic treatment for caring facial skin in the future.
Impact of Satisfaction with Physical Education, General Education Courses on Exercise Adherence in University Students

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the satisfaction level of university students with Physical Education. general education courses on their exercise adherence, to seek ways of boosting college Physical Education. general education and ultimately to provide some information on how to urge students to keeping getting exercise. The subjects in this study were 486 male and female students who attend university in the city of Daejeon and Chungnam in 2009. After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed with a SPSS 14.0 program. A frequency analysis, reliability analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA and correlation analysis were carried out. The findings of the study were as follows: as for the relationship of demographic characteristics to satisfaction with Physical Education. general education courses and exercise adherence, there were partially significant gaps in the two regards according to gender, major and academic year. All the subfactors of satisfaction with the instruction had a positive correlation to exercise adherence, and satisfaction with Physical Education. general education courses exerted a great influence on exercise adherence. It implied that better satisfaction with the instruction led to stronger exercise adherence, which suggests how college Physical Education. general education courses should be offered to encourage students to enjoy lifelong sports.
A Study on the Validity and Utility of Korean-Age and Stage Questionnaire for Children in Community

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and utility of the Korean-Ages and Stages Questionnaires(K-ASQ) as a screening tool for detecting developmental delay of preschool child in community. Informed consents from parents of 229 children were received for the process of the study. The subjects were 229 parents and the children of three to five years old who did not have reported genetic diseases or developmental delays. The result of this study, validity were calculated for the K-ASQ sensitivity 0.41%, specificity 0.76%, hyper-referral 0.14%, hypo-referral 0.21%. Predictive value of delayed development were K-ASQ 0.70% and that of normal development were K-ASQ 0.77%. K-ASQ can be feasibly used in the setting of health clinic and be the highly predictive criteria for delayed development and normal development.
A Development of Management System for Publication and Operation of Clinical Contents Model`s Outcomes

In this paper we developed a CCM Manager which is a management system to support efficient development, publication and promotion of Clinical Contents Model(CCM)`s outcomes. We derived the functions of manager and user from the analysis of work process from development of CCM to management and publication, designed the database based on CCM architecture, and developed web-based system for each user to easily access and search the contents. CCM Manager supports to share the results between model developers well, distribute and promote the outcomes of model type to general users without manager`s manual packaging and publishing it. This paper shows superiority compared with other clinical information model management system in aspects of providing multiple search functions, visual model browsing methods and management functions. The proposed CCM Manager is currently used in process of CCM development, and the analysis of its efficiency with the results will be made in the future.

Assessment of the accommodative response is an essential part of the optometric examination. This study measured objectively the accommodation responses those were measured by Autorefractor, MEM retinoscopy and Nott dynamic retinoscopy, and investigate the correlation and difference the results. Author suggest that Nott dynamic retinoscopy may use Shin-Nippon NVision-K 5001 Autorefractor interchangeably to evaluate accommodative responses expect MEM retinoscopy.

In this paper, we presents a sensor calibration technique using stereo X-ray images to provide efficient inspection of fast moving cargo objects. Stereo X-ray scanned images are acquired from a specially designed equipment which consists of a X-ray source, dual-linear array detector, and a conveyor system. Dual detector is installed so that rectified stereo X-ray images of objects are acquired. Using the stereo X-ray images, we carry out a sensor calibration to find the correspondences between the images and reconstruct 3-D shapes of real objects. Using the Image acquired from the stereo detectors with varying distances, we calculated the GCP(ground control point)of the image. And we figure out the error by comparing calculated GCP and GCP of the real object. The experimental results show the proposed technique can enhance the accuracy of stereo matching and give more efficient visualization for cargo inspection image.
Quality Measurement Algorithm for IS-95 Reverse-link Signal

In this paper, we proposed and implemented a quality measurement algorithm for IS-95 reverse-link signal. To measure the quality of the received signal, equalization, carrier frequency/phase offset estimation, and timing synchronization are essential. And, all signal processing are carried out with baseband signal. The equalizer works with 4-oversampled samples to remove ICI(InterChip Interference). The frequency/phase offset estimator is followed by timing synchronizer since it can work without aid of data and timing information. As the number of interpolation in timing synchronization increases, the measurement accuracy improves, but computation load increases simultaneously. Therefore, one need to choose adequately the number of interpolation regarding to the platform performance to be used for the proposed algorithm.
Optical metrology for resonant surface acoustic wave in RF device

Unlike the electric method capable of checking only product defect, the real time optical metrology is suggested for measuring and visualizing vibration with respect to position of surface acoustic wave in RF device. The measuring limits and conditions for surface acoustic wave is given, and the interference and diffraction due to RF signal are analyzed by optical interpretation. A single mode laser and a 105MHz-center-frequency repeater filter were employed for experiments and theoretical analysis. In this paper, the optical metrology providing visual energy distribution and real time inspection for surface acoustic wave is proposed for development of high quality multi-service and multi-frequency RF module.

In this paper, an embedded system based on sensing data management system which can collect and store sensing data from sensor node is developed. Berkeley DB and the query processor is installed in the main system, by using this we can send the more accurate information to the host server and can increase the reliability of sensor information.

We composed emotional lighting LED as controller for color conversion, power supply for supplying LED lamp a stable power, PCB board for LED lamp and lamp and case. We developed designed emotional lighting LED and proved that the system works and one can get intended color.

Cyber security assessment is the process of determining how effectively an entity being assessed meets specific cyber security objectives. Cyber security assessment helps to measure the degree of confidence one has and to identify that the managerial, technical and operational measures work as intended to protect the I&C systems and the information it processes. Recently, needs for cyber security on digitalized nuclear I&C systems are increased. However the overall cyber security program, including cyber security assessment, is not established on those systems. This paper presents the methodology of cyber security assessment which is appropriate for nuclear I&C systems. This methodology provides the qualitative assessments that may formulate recommendations to bridge the security risk gap through the incorporated criteria. This methodology may be useful to the nuclear organizations for assessing the weakness and strength of cyber security on nuclear I&C systems. It may be useful as an index to the developers, auditors, and regulators for reviewing the managerial, operational and technical cyber security controls, also.
User-Centered Information Retrieving Method in Blogs

Due to the recent tremendous growth of internet information, RSS, syndication technology provides internet users with a user-friendly information search. RSS enables you to automatically receive newly updated contents, so users do not need to constantly access web sites to obtain new information. This paper proposes the way of managing the web crawler, which collects the sites of RSS documents and helps the users efficiently use the RSS documents. And it also suggests the proper way of ranking the RSS documents based on the users` popularity. Users can efficiently search out the documents they need by using the proposed information searching methods.

In this paper, we propose assistant device system based on camera that can perform general mouse function for the physically disabled. Most disabled people use special hardware and rely largely on foreign-made assistance device and the using rate of assistance device was very low because of high price. To solve this problem, we propose effective system based on web camera that can perform general mouse function and can raise accessibility for the physically disabled. In the proposed method, we firstly attach color marker on arbitrary device or body parts and then input the information of color using camera and extract coordinate information of color marker and finally, match processing information(coordinate) to special event(keyboard, mouse) and control various applications. The proposed method shows good performance in price and performance compared with other techniques by real field test.

The Clustering technology of Energy efficiency wireless sensor network gets the energy efficiency by reducing the number of communication between sensor nodes and sink node. In this paper, First analyzed on the clustering technique of the distributed clustering protocol routing scheme LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) and HEED (Hybrid, Energy-Efficient Distributed Clustering Approach), and based on this, new energy-efficient clustering technique is proposed for the cause the maximum delay of dead nodes and to increase the lifetime of the network. In the proposed method, the cluster head is elect the optimal efficiency node based on the residual energy information of each member node and located information between sink node and cluster node, and elected a node in the cluster head since the data transfer process from the data been sent to the sink node to form a network by sending the energy consumption of individual nodes evenly to increase the network`s entire life is the purpose of this study. To verify the performance of the proposed method through simulation and compared with existing clustering techniques. As a result, compared to the existing method of the network life cycle is approximately 5-10% improvement could be confirmed.
Capacity of Convergence System of Broadcasting and Communications in Correlated Nakagami Fading Channel

In this paper, we propose a concept and model of an additional service system as a kind of convergence system of broadcast and telecommunication. The proposed system use existing back-bone network such as broadcasting or communication networks. For this, we derive channel capacity formula as an approximated closed-form expression in order to show how many reliable additional data can be transmitted through wireless fading channel. From the derived formula, we confirm that the channel capacity is varied according to channel and system parameters.
The Analysis of Online Games with the Lens of Interactivity: The Case of World of Warcraft

It is of great importance to categorize the genres of online games in order to get a useful conceptual framework. The reason for this is so that we can distinguish between the similarities and differences between the types of games. Most of researches, however, have not provided common criteria, other than subjective criteria or experiences. This paper finds the fundamental characteristic of games, that is, their interactivity and develops a conceptual framework including primary and corresponding participants, and controlling characters. Through an empirical research on World of Warcraft, this study shows that the framework is comprehensive covering all of interactivity at WoW and an useful tool for analyzing online games.

Because the application simultaneously to transmit large amounts of data (Video conferencing, Internet broadcasting, Online games etc.) to multiple users increases, the importance and utilization of group communication was greater. So the security was recognized as a important issue. To provide security in multicast environment, A study of single group management server using protocol based on Key Tree Scheme was proposed. But the paper proposes secure group key management scheme to be a relatively low-overhead. Therefore proposed paper is demonstrated to be excellent by comparing the effectiveness of existing and proposed group key management scheme.
Adaptive Multi-level Streaming Service using Fuzzy Similarity in Wireless Mobile Networks

Streaming service in the wireless mobile network environment has been a very challenging issue due to the dynamic uncertain nature of the channels. Overhead such as congestion, latency, and jitter lead to the problem of performance degradation of an adaptive multi-streaming service. This paper proposes a AMSS (Adaptive Multi-level Streaming Service) mechanism to reduce the performance degradation due to overhead such as variable network bandwidth, mobility and limited resources of the wireless mobile network. The proposed AMSS optimizes streaming services by: 1) use of fuzzy similarity metric, 2) minimization of packet loss due to buffer overflow and resource waste, and 3) minimization of packet loss due to congestion and delay. The simulation result shows that the proposed method has better performance in congestion control and packet loss ratio than the other existing methods of TCP-based method, UDP-based method and VBM-based method. The proposed method showed improvement of 10% in congestion control ratio and 8% in packet loss ratio compared with VBM-based method which is one of the best method.

In this paper to make young children to learn habits of the animals, crying, features, and English and Korean language, The system was developed to target the zoo various animals exist. If young child places a doll on the front of interesting animal, then young child can learn to look through the display connected to the model. The zoo is reducing the current appearance of the zoo, sensors that can recognize animals are attached to each cage. Attached to each sensor has a unique ID, If this approach recognizes a doll baby and will transmit a unique ID to the handler. Transmitted ID search the matched value sent from the database to retrieve the content and then the content is to be output through the output device. Also if the doll near the animal`s room, young children find out animal sound and basic learning by multimedia effects. At the same time Korean, English, Mathematics are learned.

Single exposure dual X-ray imaging can be used to separate soft and dense-material images for medical and industrial applications. This study keep focusing baggage inspection system(BIS) specifically. New detector modules for single exposure dual X-ray imaging are consisted of low energy detector (LED) and high energy detector (HED). First, the optimized thickness of copper filter coupled HED to separate low energy and high energy was simulated by the given X-ray energy (140 kVp, 1 mA) using Monte Carlo simulation codes, MCNPX. So as a result of simulation, the copper filter thickness is 0.7 mm. For the design of PIN photodiode, ATLAS device simulation tool was used. 16 channels PIN photodiode of 1.5 mm
3.2 mm for Dual X-ray imaging detector was fabricated in the process of ETRI. And its dark current and quantum efficiency, terminal capacitance were measured. It was proven that the Lanex Fast B coupled HED were a sufficient candidate to replace the CsI(Tl) commerced in dual X-ray system, since these give a strong signal, overcoming system noise. Finally dual X-ray image was acquired through correction of the LED X-ray Image and the HED X-ray Image.

In order to supply suitable services to users in ubiquitous computing environments, it is important to consider both location and time information which is related to all object and user`s activity. To do this, in this paper, we design a spatial-temporal ontology considering user context and propose a system architecture for active mining user activity and service pattern. The proposed system is a framework for active mining user activity and service pattern by considering the relation between user context and object based on trigger system.

Mobile phones can access the wired website using mobile Full Browsing service. But the number of mobile websites is quite small compared to domestic Internet domain, and is mainly concentrated in some large businesses. The small businesses and individuals have a problem that is difficult to develop mobile Web interface, because they are lack of the technology for usability and compatibility. This paper proposes the small basic interface elements that are considered usability and based on relevant standards and can easily be applied in the industry. The proposed basic interface elements consist of 33 elements for overall behavior, navigation, contents, page definition and user input.
An Exploratory Study for the Adoption and Use of Telepresence: Focusing on Supporting Trade Business Activity of SME

As Telepresence has emerged as a key collaboration tool for supporting trade business, the need for using Telepresence has also been increased in the foreign countries. In this context, we has studied an exploratory research to analyze how staffs-in-charges of trade support authority, exhibition & convention center and SME(Small and Medium-Size Enterprise) perceive the general concept of Telepresence, the necessity, feasibility, business values and expected problems of Telepresence`s adoption and use. The finding indicated that there seemed to be significant differences between the necessity and the feasibility of Telepresence adoption and use. In addition, they were anticipating some problems when building Telepresence. Major reasons are incompatibility between Telepresence systems, lack of usability and difficulties of fixing a rental fee. The results of the perception analysis also showed that Telepresence would positively influence on creating business value. The analysis revealed that the core factors of the successful adoption and use of Telepresence are stable network environment, awareness and accessability, and education and promotion. Through the perception analysis, I came up with the core factors to implement Telepresence successfully and use it properly. And the fact that I presented the guideline to build Telepresence for SME makes this study meaningful.
A Design and Implementation of User Authentication System using Biometric Information

Security enhancement technologies are required to preventing phishing and pharming attacks on Internet banking. One-time password(OTP) should be used with certificate for enhancing user authentication and security performance. However, existing OTP technique is weak on MITM(Man-In-The-Middle) attack and synchnonization should be provided on OTP system. Therefore, more advanced mechanism such as combining biometic data with OTP can be suggested to enhancing security on authentication system. In this paper, we designed and implemented a multifactor authentication system using one-time biometric template to generate unique authentication data after adapting biometric transform on each user`s biometric data.
The Technique of Spectrum Flattening by Algorithm for Minimized Harmonics Variance Value

The exact fundamental frequency (pitch) extraction is important in speech signal processing. However the exact pitch extraction from speech signal is very difficult due to the effect of formant and transitional amplitude. So in this paper, the pitch is detected after flattening the spectrum in frequency region by proposed algorithm for minimized harmonics variance value. Experimental result showed the proposed method appeared an outstanding performance in compared with LPC, Cepstrum. Also, the results show the proposed method is better than conventional method.

MAC protocol has been studied for reducing energy consumption in wireless sensor networks. The overhearing and idle In the existing asynchronous MAC Protocol will occur due to unnecessary energy consumption. In this paper, to solve these problems, the Preamble to change the structure of the destination address, the Preamble of the end times, the data including the length of the Preamble and Data Overhearing reduce the length of the Check Interval Data generated according to the presence of the Dynamic Value dynamically adjustable by changing the DPL (Dynamic Preamble Length)-MAC protocol was proposed. Moreover, the existing asynchronous MAC protocol of wireless sensor networks and DPL-MAC protocol proposed in this paper to simulate the energy consumption and latency were assessed in terms of comparative analysis.
A Study of Compensation Algorithm for Localization based on Equivalent Distance Rate using Estimated Location Coordinator Searching Scheme

The estimated location coordinator exploration scheme and the E&E(Equivalent distance rate & Estimated location coordinator exploration) compensation algorithm for localization is proposed, and the performance of the E&E is analyzed in this paper. The proposed scheme is adapted to the AEDR(Algorithm for localization using the concept of Equivalent Distance Rate). From several experiments, it is confirmed that the performance of the localization compensation in SDS-TWR is improved from 0.60m to 0.34m in four experimental scenarios, and the performance of the localization compensation ratio of the E&E is also better than that of the AEDR as a level of maximum 15%. It can be thought that the proposed localization compensation algorithm E&E can be sufficiently applicable to various localization applications because the performance of the localization error rate of the E&E is measured as less than 1m in 99% of the total performance experiments.

The nitrogen oxidized substance(NOx) from cars in city is one of serious air-polution problems. In advanced country, the powder or the liquid photocatalystic for asphalt pavement and noise barrier have been used to reduce the air-polution. In this paper, the effect of photocatalystic on asphalt pavement has been evaluated, especially for UV optical science reactions analyzed NOx purification efficiencies of the automobile waste gas. Judging from the limited lab-scale test, the use of the powder or the liquid photocatalystic is one of alternatives to reduce the NOx from automobile.
Comparative Analysis for Numerical Modeling of Tidal Current on Geum River Estuary

The semi-implicit scheme proposed by Backhaus is introduced to solve two-dimensional shallow water equation. This mothod is applied for the numerical model solving surface elevation and velocity field of Geum River estuary. For the verification of the method, numerical solutions by this model are compared with ones by Heap`s well known explicit model. Solutions of two models resemble each other. The time-step chosen for the semi-implicit scheme turned out to be 3 to 6 times longer than explicit model depending on the stringent CFL criterion. The computation time could be reduced at least 50%. It was proved that this scheme is easy to handle dry banks which can be seen in Geum River estuary and numerical stability is obtained for long time computation.

It is necessary to collect the coastal zone data, to prepare the objective analysis methods, and to build the scientific and technical support system for the efficient management of coastal zone in local aspect. This study analyzes the coastal zoning methods and the integrated methods of different kind data by case study of U.S.A coastal zone. The characteristics of coastal zone management methods in U.S.A are as follows; the concrete indices and methods of establishing coastal zone which can respond to the local values and land use, related data analysis methods for supporting spatial decision making, and establishment and administration of bureau for the spatial information construction and integration of coastal zone. This study suggest the technical implications which can build the domestic coastal zone management in local level on the basis of the common values of the coastal zoning methods and integrated methods of heterogeneous data in U.S.A.
Characteristics on Pullout Behavior of Belled Tension Pile in Sandy Soils

Recently, the construction of coastal structures and high-rise structures against the horizontal and uplift forces increases with the developing the coastal developments. Especially the application of belled tension pile as foundation type to effectively resist uplift force is increasing in coastal structures. However, research on pullout resistance of belled tension pile has been limited and not yet been fully performed. Therefore, the pullout load tests of belled tension piles in four overseas sites were performed, then the bearing capacity, characteristics on load-displacement of piles and load distribution considering skin friction were investigated in this paper. In addition, the limit pullout bearing capacity calculated by the three-dimensional finite element analysis and theoretical methods were compared with values of in-situ test.
Diversity of Planktonic Micro Algae in Saemangeum Water Regions

Taxonomic compositions and species diversities of the planktonic micro algae communities were investigated 8 times during the period from May, 2006 to November, 2007 in Saemangeum water regions. Total of 191 taxa were observed; 94 diatoms, 31 chlorophytes, 24 dinoflagellates, 24 cyanophytes, 11 euglenophytes, 3 silicoflagellates, 1 cryptophyte and 3 unidentified microflagellates. During the period of this study, diversity indices of the community were changed spatio-temporally and fluctuated irregularly. It was surmised that artificial factors to the water condition such as open and lock of the dike stressed to the planktonic micro algal groups.

This study is development of UV-cured coating compounds which has more improved anti-stain and anti-biosis, about surface prevention of PVC Tile. We added water-soluble anti-static and anti-microbial agent to the resin. The process has prevented electrostatic and bacterial contagious disease. The result, which added 15wt% of water-soluble anti-static and 1wt% anti-microbial agent and coated with No.12 Bar-coater, coating composition had optimum surface property. It appear electric resistance(
), anti-stain (Ink Test, Dust Test), anti-biosis (99.99%), and adhesive power(100%).
