Characteristics of fuel economy and emissions of soft and hard type hybrid vehicles

This paper describes the characteristics of emissions and fuel economy of soft type hybrid vehicle (Hyundai Avante) and hard type hybrid vehicle(Toyoda, Prius) in a transient CVS-75 driving mode. Hybrid vehicles showed the better fuel economy and emission characteristics comparing the conventional gasoline vehicle. Especially, hard type hybrid vehicle showed the better fuel economy comparing soft type hybrid vehicle under 55 km/h periods in the CVS-75 mode.

In this paper, variable reactor and capacitor for high-frequency welder are analyzed by optimum design. As the polar panel of high-frequency welder has the role of condenser, the material with the high rate of induced electricity has to be selected in order to manufacture the condenser with the great power cut. And the area of polar panel must be large and the gap between panels must be thin. On the contrary, the resistance is generated and the heat is happened because the large current is flown. To prevent the thermal deformation of this polar panel, the temperature can be lowered by using cooling water and so on. At this point, the speed of cooling water due to deformation and temperature of polar panel can be optimized.
Development of Wireless Gantry Loader System

Gantry loader which is also called as gantry robot is a kind of cartesian coordinate robot with two or more linear motions. A conventional gantry system has cableveyor for protecting power and signal cables, but the use of cableveyor makes a delay of work due to frequent repairing for its aging. This study reports that a wireless gantry loader is able to be operated without a power line for power transmission or a signal cable for motion control. The wireless gantry loader enables a convenient maintenance and a stable productivity by the reduction of wire broken from fatigue. The developed loader system is controlled by PC-based motion controller and is communicated by wireless LAN devices. The line from a power source to the loader system was substituted by attaching trolley bar on the traveling beam. The loader system was designed to be moved with high speed and high repeatability, and the motion was observed continuously by monitoring system in the PC-based controller. The maximum speed and the repeatability for the transferring and loading axes are 200 m/min, 60 mm and 100 m/min, 40 mm respectively.
Study on Heat Exchanging Characteristics of Automobile Exhaust Heat Recirculation Device

Recently, various technologies for the fuel efficiency improvement are being developed. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the heat exchanging performance of a exhaust heat recirculation device and to propose a model with optimized performance. The device has been designed to warm up engine coolant as quickly as possible using wasted exhaust heat. To achieve these goals, heat transfer characteristics has been analyzed using CFD for the flow direction effect and in/out location effect of coolant. A method improving the effectiveness of heat exchange has been proposed. As a result, the highest efficiency in heat exchange was observed on condition that exhaust heat affects the coolant directly with a separate flow path between exhaust gas and coolant and that coolant flow rate is relatively low.
Study on the Performance Characteristics of the Roof Mounted Electrical Air Conditioning System Using Inverter Scroll Compressor

The objective of this study is to investigate the cooling performance of the roof mounted air-conditioning system using electric driven scroll compressor for zero emission vehicles. This air conditioner with air source was used R-134a as a refrigerant and tested under various operating conditions such as refrigerant charge amount and indoor temperature, and compressor frequencies. Experimental results revealed that at all tested compressor frequencies, heat transfer rate of the evaporator increased and the cooling COP increased with the indoor temperature. In addition, the heat transfer rate of the evaporator was over 25.0kW sufficient for the cooling loads of an electric bus.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the success factors of European companies operating in Korea. Special attention is given to German companies seeking to enter the Asian market. The advantages and disadvantages of the Korean market as an gate to other Asian markets are discussed. Furthermore, it is introduced a measure by which other foreign companies could be induced to invest in the Korean market. Chapter two introduces a theoretical framework for market entry strategies of German companies in Asia. Chapter three and four analyses empirical cases. In chapter five a conclusion and implications is provided.
Effects of a older volunteer activity on the career development of girl's middle school student -Career attitude maturity, Career decision level-

This study was conducted to analyze the influences of older volunteer activity. In detail, Administered on girl's maddle school students with the program's purpose on encouragement of positive career development. The study sample was taken from 30 students attending Y girl's middle school in Gyeonggi province, all of whom were regular volunteers at a near by rest home. The contents of the study and apparatus alike incorporated the use of a CAMI and CDS employed as a means of observing the changes before and after older volunteer activity experience in relation to five sub factors and career decision level. The data were analyzed by t-test using the SPSS Program. The results were as follows: First, it appears that older volunteer activity, in general, partial effect of improving a girl's middle school students' career attitude maturity. Second, it appears that older volunteer activity, improving effect a girl's middle school students' career decision level. Third, a girl's middle school students' career attitude maturity and career decision level had positive to advance more in particular in cases where the students' family also participated in older volunteer activity. As observed by the above results, a older volunteer activity experience should be an integral to a girl's middle school students' career education program plan as an effective means of enhancing their career attitude maturity and career decision level.
A Review on Dynamic Changes of Consumer's Attributes and Marketing Mix Strategies of Cut Roses in Korea

The aim of this study is to find changes of the attributes that influence the purchase of cut roses during recent five years(2007~2011) and suggest some implications on ways to promote cut roses marketing. For this purpose, a survey was conducted through the Internet among 1,100 randomly chosen people living in Seoul, Inchon and Gyeonggi Province in 2011. A total of 1,023 valid replies were received for the analysis of the survey which was carried out by the subsidiary consulting firm. The survey panels and estimation models to analyze changes of consumers' preference attributes during recent five years are same to them of Kim, et al.(2007). That is, empirical analysis tools such as ordered probit model, multinomial logit model, and conjoint analysis were used according to Kim, et al.(2007). This paper suggests several policy implications to set up the target market of cut roses and marketing mix strategy to specify the best 4P(product, price, place and promotion).
Influence of Consumers' Purchasing Selection Criteria for Golf-wear upon Clothing Pursuit Benefit and Purchase Satisfaction

The purpose of this study is to analyze a research on the influence of consumers' purchasing selection criteria for golf-wear upon clothing pursuit benefit and purchase satisfaction. It selected people who are using golf games and golf courses in each city and county where are located in Gangwon-do Province, and surveyed targeting totally 206 people by using convenience sampling. As for data processing, the collected materials in this study were carried out frequency & percentage, reliability analysis, correlation & multiple regression analysis by using SPSS 13.0 program. The results are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing socio-demographic characteristics, the similar distribution was shown by gender with 51.0% in men and 49.0% in women. By age, the age group from their 40s to 50s was indicated to be the largest. The martial status was indicated to be a litter higher in the married with 57.3% compared to the unmarried with 42.7%. By healthy condition, what tends to be healthy can be known to be the largest with 79.4%. Second, positive correlation was indicated all in correlation of consumers' purchasing selection criteria for golf-wear with the clothing pursuit benefit and satisfaction. Third, as a result of analyzing on relationship of the golf-wear purchasing selection criteria with the clothing pursuit benefit, the purchasing selection criteria were indicated to have influence upon the ideal pursuit, the fashion & brand, comfort pursuit, and youthand-individuality pursuit, which are the clothing pursuit benefits. Fourth, the analytical result on the purchasing selection criteria for golf-wear with purchase satisfaction was indicated to have significant influence upon consumers' golf-wear purchase satisfaction.
Metaphor And Thought: Focused on Political Metaphors

This paper is based on the Cognitive Linguistics point of view on metaphor. Metaphors are not a matter of language use or rhetorics but of a conceptual frame, where thoughts work. The conceptual frames can highlight one aspect affecting our lives while hiding the other aspect of the facts. Politicians use metaphors to persuade people and justify their political decisions. Lakoff argues that the Republicans in the U.S. have their own conceptual framework based on the 'strict father model' of the conservatives, which can be found in important political speeches. Political metaphors supporting this view are found in the 'Attack on Iraq Speech' by G. H. Bush in 1991 and 'Operation Iraqi Freedom Address' by G. W. Bush in 2003.
A Combined ANP and DEA Model based Efficiency Analysis of the Listed Construction Firms

Many Korean construction companies have fallen on hard times because the construction business continues to stagnate. Therefore it is necessary to measure the management efficiency for efficient operation and strengthening competitiveness of them in order to survive a difficult situation. This paper proposes a combined ANP and DEA model to analyze the efficiency of the listed construction firms. In order to determine the input and output variables of DEA, the ANP model is applied to evaluate the importance of input and output variables. The benchmarking companies and efficiency value for the construction firms with inefficiency are also provided to improve the their efficiency. The 57 listed construction companies consisted of 36 listed on KOSPI and 21 listed on KOSDAQ are analyzed in this study. The analysis results show that 11 companies whose values of CCR are 1, and 14 firms whose values of BCC efficiency are 1. In additions, the 19 firms have the scalability efficiency. Finally, we test the correlation between efficiency and the stock price.
Determinants of Credit Default Swap Spreads: The Case of Korean Firms

Among several macroeconomic missteps blamed for the recent global financial crisis including the social problems of income distribution and the lack of proper financial remedies, two of them have received particular attention: the global BOP(Balance of Payment) imbalance and the misguided monetary policy. Such BOP imbalance was blamed for massive foreign exchange investment flows from Asia into the U.S., triggering the financial and real estate bubble in America. The latter refers to the excessively loose monetary policy of the U.S. Federal Reserve, which pushed financial institutions and households into reckless investment behavior in search of higher returns. Given the abuse of certain innovative financial techniques and new investment instruments that have been created in recent decades, both collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) and credit default swaps (CDS) enjoyed a symbiotic and toxic relationship prior to the financial crisis This paper is organized as follows: The first section analyzes the real causes of the recent financial crisis. The second details the role of CDOs and CDS. Then, to identify key determinants of the CDS spreads in an emerging capital market, the sample data of major Korean firms' CDS spreads are used to estimate the risk premium by utilizing the multiple regression analysis. The empirical test result indicates that Korean 3-year treasury bond rate(TYIELD), market to book value ratio(MV/BV), and assets size(INASSETS) are shown to demonstrate statistically significant influences on the changes of the CDS premium for sample firms.
The Effects and Development of Coordination Supporting Script in CSCL

The goal of this research is to development a coordination supporting script in CSCL and tried to measure of coordination supporting script's effectiveness. Therefor, in this research, after derive macro-script design principle and activity principle from former study and CSCL tool, after derive micro-script from role sign several reference, and then based on those principle developed coordination supporting script. As providing coordination supporting script or not, there will be the sense making difference of effectiveness of coordination supporting script in learning activity(shared mental model). The result of this study may have implication for the research on macro-script and micro-script and educational practice.
Anti-oxidative Activities of Angelica dahurica Radix Ethanol Extract

In order to evaluate the anti-oxidative capabilities of Angelica dahurica Radix ethanol extract (ADEE), we analyzed the contents of polyphenol and flavonoid compounds and the electron donating ability from ADEE. For animal experimentation, the test agent was topically applied to the artificial tanning spots which were induced by 1,500 mJ/
of ultraviolet B radiation on the backs of brown guinea pigs weighing approximately 450~500g. The test agent of
was applied (6areas per group) twice a day, five days a week, for five weeks. On completion of the experiment, the animals were sacrificed under anesthetization, and the artificial tanning spots were obtained by biopsy punch and stained with H&E to observe the histological change in the epidermis and dermis. As a result, the contents of polyphenol and flavonoid compounds in ADEE were 20.7mg/g and 19.5mg/g respectively. As the for electron-donating capability of ADEE, it was observed that ADEE displays a dose-dependent antioxidative capacity of 14.8% and 19.8% at the concentration of 500 and 1000
respectively. Tissue staining with H&E revealed that the epidermis of the control group was slightly thicker than that of the other groups. However no inflammation or any other undesirable effect on the skin tissue due to ADEE was observed. These results indicate that ADEE is of value as a natural antioxidant.
A study on the relationship between medical service user's doctor-shopping behavior and the Internet use

Doctor-shopping which has a tendency to seek out alternative opinions when they got diagnosed by a doctor is increasing nowadays. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the doctor-shopping behavior of Korean and the related variables. Questionnaires have been distributed from 2009/10/16 to 2009/11/16 and the sample size of this study is 223 people in Korea who experienced of medical service for disease treatment purpose. Among the six independent variables, confidence in doctor's ability variable and trust of the Internet information variable have correlation with the doctor-shopping behavior. With the development of Internet and raise of consciousness toward consumer right, the consumers are now selecting doctors slightly as if they go shopping.
Effects of Horticulture Therapy on Depression and Stress in Patient of Hospice Unit

The study was done to examine the effects of horticulture therapy on depression and stress in patient of hospice unit. The subjects of this study were hospice patient in D hospital in D city, thirty hospice patient were assigned to experimental group, thirty hospice patient were assigned to control group. Data were collected from April 29, 2009 to July 26, 2009. Horticulture therapy program consisted of indoor and outdoor horticultural activities. The horticulture therapy was conducted 30 minutes, 6 times a week for 3 weeks (a total 18 times). Measures were depression, and stress by serum cortisol count. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square test and t-test with SPSS/WIN 17.0 version. The results of this study was patients in the experimental group receiving Horticulture therapy had a significant difference in changes of depression between the experimental group and control group. The study results indicate that horticulture therapy is an effective, palliative intervention program to improve the depression and stress of hospice patients.
Factors Influencing on Safety knowledge of Scuba divers

The purpose of this study was to investigate on the safety knowledge level, and to identify the factors that affect the safety knowledge according to general characteristics of scuba divers. This research design was a descriptive study. Data of 179 scuba divers were collected from October 17, 2010 to June 17, 2011. Data were analyzed by SPSS PASW statistics 18.0 program. The mean score of safety knowledge related to diving was 2.07(
)(score range was 1~4). The highest score was safety knowledge to cope with the cold(
점). The lowest score was safety knowledge for hyperexpansion of lungs. In the results of multivariate regression analysis after variable selection, Adjusted
value was 0.567. The model fit was 56.7%. The factors that affect the safety knowledge were age(
years), equipment(all purchase, some lease), motivation(job), participation period(
months) and frequency(once a month)(p<.05, p<.001). It is necessary to develop and conduct the educational program for scuba divers safety at country level.
A Study on the R&D Trend and Patent Analysis of Treatments for Degenerative Brain Diseases

Degenerative brain diseases including Alzheimer's diseases, Parkinson's diseases increase in frequency with age. They are amongst the most costly and devastating diseases to patients and their families. Therefore developing therapies for degenerative brain diseases is of the highest priority. Recently therapeutics for these diseases have undergone scrutiny by many clinical trials according to the advances of cellular and molecular neurobiology. This review is focused on studies investigating the current therapeutic strategies already undergone different stage of clinical trials and recent R&D trend by nations through patent analysis on treatments for degegerative brain diseases.
Effect of Gamma Energy of Positron Emission Radionuclide on X-Ray CT Image

This study is aimed to assess the effect of the gamma ray of 511keV energy which is emitted from phantom where the positron emission radionuclide was injected on X-ray CT image. As a scanning method, the CT number and pixel value of the reference image where water was injected(0 mCi), and those acquired by changing the capacity of 18F(Fluorine), positron emission radionuclide, into 1 mCi, 2 mCi, 5 mCi, and 10 mCi were measured. As a result of measuring the CT number(HU) of the phantom image where the positron emission radionuclide(
) was injected, there were reference water (
HU), 1 mCi(
HU), 2 mCi(
HU), 5 mCi(
HU), and 10 mCi(
HU). Compared with the image where it was filled with water, there was a reduction of 5.89 Hu in 10 mCi, 3.73 in 5 mCi, 2.69 HU in 2 mCi, and 2 HU in 1 mCi. As for the pixel value of the phantom image, there were reference water (
), 1 mCi(
), 2 mCi(
), 5 mCi(
), and 10 mCi(
). Compared with the reference image, there was a reduction of 5.50 in 10 mCi, 3.40 in 5 mCi, 3.10 in 2 mCi, and 2.02 in 1 mCi. Through this experiment, it was indicated that, with the increase in the dose of the positron emission radionuclide(
), the CT number and the pixel value of the image reduced proportionally, and the width of reduction showed a similar value, too. Accordingly, according to the degree of change in X-ray CT image due to the positron emission radionuclide in the quality control item of PET/CT, the proper standard should be established and it should be periodically managed.
The Relation of BMI, Smoking and Drinking with Biomedical Parameters in 20s and 30s Men

The purpose of this study was to explore the relation of BMI, smoking and drinking with biomedical parameters in 20s and 30s men. This was a retrospective exploratory study and the subjects were 603 men who participated in health check-up for clinical trial at a tertiary hospital between October 2006 and June 2011. RBC, hemoglobin(Hb), hematocrit(Hct), triglyceride(TG), uric acid(UA), ALT in obese group were significantly higher than those of normal weight group. WBC and Hb in smokers were significantly higher than those of nonsmokers, protein in smokers was significantly lower than that of nonsmokers. Platelet in moderate smokers who smoke 10~19 cigarettes a day was significantly higher than that of nonsmokers and light smokers who smoke below 10 cigarettes a day, albumin in moderate smokers was significantly lower than that of nonsmokers and light smokers. TG in moderate smokers was significantly higher than that of nonsmokers, and blood glucose(BG) in moderate smokers was significantly lower than that of nonsmokers. AST and ALT in drinkers who drink over 10g a day were significantly higher than those of nondrinkers. In regression, BMI was significant factors of increasing RBC, Hb, Hct, total cholesterol(TC), TG, BG, UA, AST and ALT. Smoking amount was significant factors of increasing WBC, Hb, Hct and TG, and was significant factors of decreasing BG and Ca. Smoking amount was significant factors of increasing TC, AST and ALT, and was significant factors of decreasing WBC. In conclusion, there was significant relations of BMI, smoking, and drinking with biomedical parameters such as Hb, TC, TG, and ALT in young-aged men. Therefore, practice of healthy lifestyle activities to include preventing obesity and heavy drinking, and quitting smoking needs to the 20s and 30s men for preventing lifestyle disease.
Antioxidant activity of wood vinegar by bioconversion

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are reactive and potentially harmful to cells, causing oxidation of lipids, proteins, and DNA. In humans, the deleterious effects of ROS have been linked with aging, carcinogenesis, and atherosclerosis. In order to investigate an antioxidant activity of wood vinegar by bioconversion, we preferentially analyzed the total acidity, acetic acid, pH, and contents of total polyphenols and flavonoids, respectively. ECG consists of various types of electrical signal on the heart, and feature point of these signals can be detected by analyzing the arrhythmia. So far, feature points extraction method for the detection of arrhythmia done in the many studies. However, it is not suitable for portable device using real time operation due to complicated operation. In this paper, R-peak were extracted using R-R interval and QRS width informations on patients. First, noise of low frequency bands eliminated using butterworth filter, and the R-peak was extracted by R-R interval moving average and QRS width moving average. In order to verify, it was experimented to compare the R-peak of data in MIT-BIH arrhythmia database and the R-peak of suggested algorithm. As a results, it showed an excellent detection for feature point of R-peak, even during the process of operation could be efficient way to confirm.

The aim of this study was to investigate the capacity of the xylitol-sensitive(Xs) and xylitol-resistant(Xr) S. mutans to induce dental caries in the presence of various carbohydrate. S. mutans KCTC3065 was cultured with 0.4% glucose and 1% xylitol in TYE medium for 30 days at
to form Xr S. mutans. Both Xs and Xr strains were cultured in four different carbohydrate environments; 0.5% glucose containing basal culture TYE medium(G-TYE), G-TYE plus 0.5% sucorse, G-TYE plus 0.5% fructose, G-TYE plus 0.5% maltose. Then cell growth, acid production, and extracellular polysaccharides synthesis were analyzed. The final growth level and extracellular polysaccharides contents in the Xr strain were significantly lower than in the Xs strain in all carbohydrates except fructose. While, acid production was no significantly difference between Xs and Xr strain. These results indicate that the virulence of Xr strains is significantly lower than that of Xs strains, which supports Xr strains may be less cariogenic than Xs strains.

There existed the interactive effect between the longitudinal arch and muscle activity. The contrast test within subjects showed positively in the rectus femoris and gastrocnemius medialis, biceps femoris and gastrocnemius medialis. The different longitudinal arch did not influence on the effect(p>.05). There was significant difference between the normal foot and the flat foot. So it is necessary to carry out the long term study.
Factors related to the Quality of Sleep in the Elderly Women

The purpose of this study was to examine the factor of the quality of elderly women's sleep. The subjects in this study were 198 elderly women who were at the age of 60 and up. One instrument used to assess their quality of sleep was Buysse, et. al.(1989)'s Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI), and the other used to check their urinary incontinence was Jackson, et. al.(1996)'s Urination Symptom Inventory. The collected data were analyzed by the statistical package SPSS 18.0. The elderly women got
in the quality of sleep of the PSQI, and 67.7 percent suffered from sleep disorders. Among the subfactors of the PSQI, their subjective quality of sleep was low, and the quality of sleep during, sleep latency was low as well. And their sleep disturbance was great. In contrast, the effectiveness of their habitual sleep was relatively good, and they didn't take medicine such as a sleep pill a lot, and their functional sleep disorder in the daytime wasn't great. There were differences in the quality of sleep according to their education, financial state, self-rated health status and family relations, and whether they worked out on a regular basis or not made a difference to that as well. No differences were found according to age, religion, occupation and having a coffee or not. There was a positive correlation between their quality of sleep in the PSQI and urinary incontinence(r=.51, p=.000). Out of the subfactors of the PSQI, the sleep disturbance factor was most closely linked to urinary incontinence(r=.465, p=.001). Finally, urinary incontinence and subjective health status were identified as the variables that exerted a statistically significant influence on the quality of sleep. Those variables made a 31% prediction of it.

The purpose of this study was to analyze dental laboratory's self health recognition level and health behavior level and to examine its correlation. 250 dental technicians in Seoul, Incheon, and Jeonbuk area were selected. Survey was carried out from October 11, 2010 to November 25, 2010 by using self-administered questionnaire. The following are the analytical results in the collected data. The average in the self- health recognition was indicated to be high with 2.83, The average of health behavior was indicated to be high with 2.76. As for correlation between self health recognition and health behavior, most of variables were indicated to have reverse correlation, it was concluded that higher health behavior likely led to lower self health recognition. From the result of this study, the work environment of dental technician must be improved and do more Practice of Health Behavior to improve and maintain their health.
Cognitive Function and Its Related Factors Among the Elderly People Affiliated with Long-term Care Insurance Services in Rural Areas

This study was performed to determine the levels of MMSE-K among the elderly people affiliated with long-term care insurance services in rural areas, and to reveal its association with related variables. The interviews were performed, during the period from March 1st, to May 31th, 2009, to 410 elderlies in rural areas. As a results, The prevalence of cognitive functions among all subjects were 80.5% of severe cognitive impairment, 11.7% of mild cognitive impairment, and 7.8% of normal. The prevalence of cognitive functions were lower according to the higher grade of long-term care insurance. And the prevalence of cognitive functions were lower in the group of lower educational level, unemployed, live alone, lower monthly income, bear for living expenses by sons and daughters and medical aid, lower visual acuity, with urinary incontinence, with amnesia, without regular exercise and lower frequency of going out than their respective counterparts. The hierarchial multiple regression analysis was used to reveal the explanatory powers of factors influencing on the cognitive functions level. Such factors as age, bear for living expenses, visual acuity, urinary incontinence, amnesia, regular exercise and grade of long-term care services were significantly influenced with cognitive functions. especially the factors of health status were significantly influenced with cognitive functions.
Analysis of the Related Factors on Job Satisfaction in Nursing Officers Using the Structural Equation Model

This study was performed to determine the job satisfaction and its association with sociodemographic and health related characteristics, job-related factors, perception on socioeconomic status, professional job perception, job stress and social support among nursing officers. The survey was administered to 542 nursing officers working at military hospitals of the ROK Armed Forces, from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30. The structured self-administered questionnaires were delivered and they were collected without respondents' personal information. As a results, The job satisfaction of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in the following groups: an elder, married, subjective sleep quality is good, feels they are healthy, higher positional status, a longer job career, satisfied with their work, without consider quitting the job, their physical burden of work is adequate. The survey results showed that respondents' job satisfaction is positively correlated with the professional job perception and social support. while it is negatively correlated with job stress. When analyzed by Covariance Structure, it turned out that the professional job perception is more influential on job satisfaction than job stress and social support. The study found the professional job perception, high social support, and low job stress tends to improve job satisfaction. Meanwhile, the study also found that the professional job perception and high social support reduces job stress.

The purpose of this study is to examine the degree of health promotion behavior among stomach cancer patients and its relevant factors, such as belief, family support, and self-esteem etc. To investigate factors affecting health promotion behavior among stomach cancer patients, a survey was conducted through personal interviews with 153 stomach cancer patients who came to two hospitals in Daejeon from June to July, 2008. Questions were about respondents' general characteristics, properties related to stomach cancer, health belief & family support for the disease, and self-esteem. According to the results of multi-variate regression analysis, factors affecting health promotion behavior included age, treatment type, benefit, barrier, family support, and self-esteem which explained 66.6%. Public health and medical interventions are necessary to improve health promotion behavior among stomach cancer patients by improving benefit, family support, and self-esteem and reducing barrier.
The Effects of Stretching Exercise to Musculoskeletal pain in the Community-Dwelling Farmers

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of stretching management on musculoskeletal joint pain in community indwelling elderly farmers. The study included 28 residents who lived in a rural community. All participants were assigned randomly to either the stretching group (n=13,
year-old) or the control group (n=15,
year-old). Respondents were interviewed by means of a structured questionnaire. Pain severity of 6 body areas caused by symptoms of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and pain severity on day time variations were measured by the visual analogue scale on a self-assessed questionnaire. The stretching group was administered stretching therapy (45 min, 2 sets, warming up and cool down, main exercise; total 19 stretching kinds of subset 5 fields) for 12 times for 4 weeks. There were no significant difference between the two groups in general social and pain characteristics. After 4 weeks of stretching, the stretching group showed significant improvements at almost all joint pain scores except arm/elbow, and day time variation scores of pain compared to both baseline scores, and with control group scores. These results showed that stretching therapy is one of the most useful modalities to manage musculoskeletal pain in community-based elderly farmers.

RFID technology uses communication through the use of radio waves to transfer data between a reader and an electronic tag attached to an object for the purpose of identification and tracking. RFID technology can be applied to the various service areas such as, position determination technology, remote processing management and information exchange between objects by collecting, storing, processing, and tracing their informations from the tag attached to the objects using electronic wave by recognizing the information and environment of those objects. However, to revitalize these various services, it is important to test the RFID tag performance. But There are few instructions which have and hold the RFID emulator technology for organizing the RFID international test environment. Also there are not many manufacturing companies which recognize about the exact RFID test standard and requirements for the International Standards. In this paper, a construction of Tag Performance test environments and test methods are suggested which are required by EPCglobal or ISO/IEC. Details about RFID Tag performance test items proposed by ISO/IEC FDIS 18046-3 are explained, performed RFID Tag performance test through the performing test against each measured item, and draw a result for the RFID Tag performance of International Standards.

In this paper, carrier comparison PWM method for voltage control of Vienna rectifier is discussed. In general, in industrial and communications applications, the two-level rectifier is used. However, this two-level rectifier has the limit of high THD and low efficiency. So, the studies of three-level rectifier has been carried out so far, and the Vienna rectifier circuit is the representative. The space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) method is generally used for Vienna rectifier, in which voltage vectors and duration time are calculated from the voltage reference. However, this method require very sophisticated and complex calculations, so realizing this method by software is very difficult. To overcome this disadvantage, simple carrier comparison PWM method for Vienna rectifier is proposed which is modified from the carrier comparison method for 3 level inverter. Furthermore, to verify the usefulness of the Vienna rectifier carrier comparison PWM the simulation and experiment are carried out.

In this paper, we used the method which output signal of resolver is demodulated by cos and sin waveform and the demodulated analog signal is transmitted to controller. The purpose of this paper is to compare performance test of Hibernate 3.2 and iBatis 2.3 in the identical platform environment of Spring Framework 2.5 and to analyze their strengths and weaknesses. Currently Spring Framework is mostly used and well known lightweight container architecture. Both Hibernate and iBatis are mostly used instruments of ORM which is a method to enhance productivity of database. Hsiang-Shin proposed a user authentication scheme which was created by improving Yoon's scheme. Afterwards, An showed the failure to meet security requirements which are considered in user authentication using password-based smart card in Hsiang-Shih-suggested scheme. In other words, it was found that an attacker can steal a user's card, and detect a user's password by temporarily accessing it and extracting the information stored in it. However, An-proposed scheme also showed its vulnerability to password-guessing attack and forgery/impersonation attack, etc. and thus, this paper proposed the improved user authentication scheme. The proposed authentication scheme can thwart the password-guessing attack completely and this paper proposed scheme also includes an efficient mutual authentication method that can make it possible for users and authentication server to certify the other party.
A Study on the Efficient MES Using Automation in Automotive Module Assembly Line

This paper suggests a specific model that could efficiently improve the interaction and the interface between MES(Manufacturing Execution System) server and POP(Point Of Production) Terminal through RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) system in Automative Module Assembly Line. The proposed model shows that the new method by RFID can more efficiently perform to receive work order informations and transmit work performances, compared with the current approach by proximity sensor. As a result of the certain test among the MES server, RFID system, PLC(Programmable Logic controller) and POP terminal, it is noted in case of the automatic control by RFID that the effects of proposed model are as follows; (a) While the processing time per truck for carrying by the current method was 10 minutes, the processing time by the new method was 1 minutes. (b) While the error rate by the current method was 20 %, the error rate by the new method was 1 %.

In this paper, we design an ubiquitous-type shopping mall using RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) technology and a location analysis system which can locate customers in real time at off-line shopping malls as a way to provide any services to customers, based on the results of environmental analysis data. We also suggest an intelligent agent system which can provide a personalized information in time.
A Production Traceability Information Gathering System based on Handwritten Data Digitalization Technology in Agro-livestock Products

The detailed production traceability information is a fundamental element in successful introduction and revitalization of traceability system. In this paper, we propose a production traceability information gathering system which is based on handwritten data digitalization technology in agro-livestock products. By the proposed system, we can effectively gather the detailed production traceability information with digital pen and the management ledger of paper document type by only writing the ledger. The server of the system generates the same digital image as the ledger and converts the handwritten data into digital text to insert the data into the database. Because the system is superior to data gathering system based on PC, PDA and touch screen in mobility, usability, data input speed, suitability in agro-livestock environment, it is possible to effectively gather traceability information of high quality by users even if they have low information ability and insufficient time to input data. We expect that the handwritten data digitalization technology is used to gather document based information in stage of manufacturing, distribution and marketing. In addition, this technology is applied to implementing advanced traceability system with RFID/USN based systems.
Application of Variational Method to the Elastic Foundation

Solution for elastic foundation of plane strain state was derived by the application of variational method. Functions of the transverse distribution of the displacements for the analysis were chosen as linear functions. Loading conditions considered for the analysis were concentrated load and distributed load. Under the loading condition of the concentrated load, surface displacement was decreased drastically as the distance from the point of the loading increased. Under the loading condition of the distributed load, surface displacements were more uniformly distributed beneath the loading area when the ratio of the half of the loading width to the depth(B/H) of the compressible layer was greater. The surface displacement was more quickly converged from the edge of the loading area as the ratio(B/H) increased.
A Study on Sustainable Downtown Activation Plan Considering Balanced Development of City (Focused on Siheung City in Korea)

Korea experienced rapid urbanization due to high growth of economy. As people left the country and gathered in the city, the size of city has been expanded, resulting in unbalanced development of the land. In addition, it appears in diverse aspects from nationwide phenomenon to the local development in each city unit. In particular, it even tends to become social problems in the metropolitan cities. As a solution for it, this study conducts theoretical consideration on sustainability in the aspect of balanced urban development and suggests measures through analysis on Siheung-city. The result is as follows. First of all, comprehensive approach is required based on sustainability. It is required to derive balanced city development by expanding it to the social, cultural and economic aspects. Second, integrated management policy is required for the original city along with new development. It should be considered together with diverse social and physical aspects. Third, approach from the aspect of city planning is required through consideration on flat city expansion and connection with city space structural. Fourth, in order to foster balanced urban development, it is needed to grope for solutions for imbalanced urban development through the participation of diverse groups such as local residents, private enterprisers, and the non-profit civic groups of the local community along with the mediation among persons interested. And continuous support of administrative authorities should be obtained to create such environment.

New precursors as a Li adsorbent,
(M=Cu, Ni, Co, Fe), were synthesized by hydrothermal method and their physicochemical properties were discussed. XRD and HRTEM results revealed that the original spinel structure was stabilized by cobalt-doping while Cu-, Ni- and Fe-doping led to structural changes. Numerical Study for Flow Uniformity in Selective Catalytic Reduction(SCR) Process

Performance of NOx removal in SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction) process depends on such various factors as catalyst factors (catalyst composition, catalyst form, space velocity, etc.), temperature of exhaust gas, and velocity distribution of exhaust gas. Especially the flow uniformity of gas stream flowing into the catalyst layer is believed to be the most important factor to influence the performance. In this research, the flow characteristics of a SCR process at design stage was simulated, using 3-dimensional numerical analysis method, to confirm the uniformity of the gas stream. In addition, the effects of guide vanes, baffles, and perforated plates on the flow uniformity for the inside and catalyst layer of the reactor were studied in order to optimize the flow uniformity inside the SCR reactor. It was found that the installation of a guide vane at the inlet duct L-tube part and the installation of a baffle at the upper part is very effective in avoiding chaneling inside the reactor. It was also found that additional installation of a perforated plate at the lower part of the potential catalyst layer buffers once more the flow for very uniform distribution of the gas stream.
Study on Mixing Characteristic and Rheology of Polymer/Graphite Composites for a Bipolar Plate of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell

In this paper, studies on a mixing characteristic and viscosity measurement of polymer/graphite composites for a bipolar plate of the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell were presented. Since the materials for the bipolar plate should be electrically conductive, contents of solid graphite in the composite are very high. As a consequence, a viscosity of the polymer/graphite composite used for the bipolar plate is very high and the measurement of the viscosity is difficult. Viscosity measurements of the polymer/graphite composites were not possible because pressure drops were continuously fluctuated during the viscosity measurements when a conventional capillary die was used. After the die design was optimized, the steady state pressure drop could be achieved, but the viscosity thus measured was not reproducible. After many trials with different experimental techniques, it was found that melt blending of the grinded powder mixtures of both PET and graphite provides reproducible viscosity measurements and electric conductivities of the polymer/graphite composites.
Evaluation on Resource Recovery Potential by Landfill Gas Production

This study was performed to the municipal waste generation amounts and characteristics for B city in Gangwon province, predicted the methane gas generation rate emitted from landfill, and analyzed the possibility of energy recovery to RDF(Refuse Derived Fuel) using combustible waste. The study results showed that the average bulk density of municipal waste for B city was 144.0 kg/
, and the average ratios of combustible waste were 36.0 % of paper, 21.6 % of vinyl, and 19.7 % of food waste. respectively. In the experiment for heating value, high and low heating value(moisture) was measured to 3,471
/kg and 2,941
/kg, respectively. After the prohibition of burying of food waste in landfill, the heating value of municipal waste was dramatically increased due to increase of the ratio of paper, vinyl, and plastic waste. The prediction results of methane gas generation rate emitted from landfill showed that the gas generation rate is increasing to 2,505.7 CH4 ton/year in 2021. After then, the rate is decreasing gradually. When the RDF facility is installed, the rate is decreasing after peaking at 1,956.9 CH4 ton/year in 2013. The generation rate of LFG emitted from waste landfill of B city was analyzed to 9.92
/min, similar to 10.11
/min for other city.
Comparison of Chemicophysics Properties of the Detonation Monocrystalline and Synthetic Polycrystalline Nanodiamond

Nanodiamond is a relatively new nanomaterial with broad prospects for application. In this paper, a variety of methods were used to analyze comprehensively chemicophysics properties of the detonation monocrystalline and synthetic polycrystalline nanodiamond, XRD spectroscopy, EDS, HRTEM, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, TGA-DTA and BET. The results show that the monocryctalline detonation nanodiamond particles are spherical or elliptical shape of 4nm ~ 6nm grain size and the polycryctalline synthetic nanodiamond particles are angular shape of 80nm ~ 120nm grain size. Tetraazamacrocyclic ion-exchangers, 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane bonded Merrifield peptide resin(TDM), 1,4,8,12-tetraazacyclopentadecane bonded Merrifield peptide resin(TPM) were prepared, and the ion-exchange capacity of these TDM and TPM were characterized. The distribution coefficients in various conc. of NH4Cl for magnesium with ion exchangers were determined by using the batch method. We found the isotope separation factors on new prepared tetraazamacrocyclic ion-exchangers bonded Merrifield peptide resin(TDM, TPM). The isotope separation of magnesium was determined by using of breakthrough method of column chromatography.

In order to set the simple criteria to distinguish being or not facilities of Consultation about Energy Use Plan, data analysis and case analysis were carried out. This paper proposes that building, one of the facilities, is being object of the Consultation about Energy Use Plan when in the public project, its gross area is more than 75,000
or main transformer capacity is more than 9,000 kVA and when in the private project, its gross area is more than 100,000
or main transformer capacity is more than 11,500 kVA. Also shows that factory, another of the facilities, is being object when in the private project, its main transformer capacity is more than 6,000 kVA or boiler capacity is more than 24 ton/h and when in the public project, its main transformer capacity is more than 3,000 kVA or boiler capacity is more than 12 ton/h.
