DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5405
The effects of heat input (1.5~3.6 kJ/mm) and post weld heat treatment (PWHT,
, 40hr.) on the TMCP HSB600 steel weldments made by GMAW process were investigated. The tensile strengths and hardness of as-welded specimens were decreased as heat input increased, but CVN (Charpy V-Notch) impact energy did not show any differences. The fine-grained acicular ferrite was mainly formed in the low heat input while polygonal and side plate ferrites were dominated in the high heat inputs. Meanwhile, tensile strength and hardness of PWHT weldments were decreased due to the coarsening and globular of microstructure as well as reduction of residual stresses.

The need is growing for high-speed spindle because various equipment are becoming more precise, miniaturization and high speed with the development of industries. Air-lubricated dynamic bearings are widely used in the optical lithographic manufacturing of wafers to realize nearly zero friction for the motion of the stage. Air-lubricated dynamic bearing can be used in high-speed, high-precision spindle system and hard disk drive(HDD) because of its advantages such as low frictional loss, low heat generation, averaging effect leading better running accuracy. In the paper, numerical analysis is undertaken to calculate the performance of air-lubricated dynamic bearing with herringbone groove. The static performances of herringbone groove bearings which can be used to support the thrust load are calculated. Electrochemical micro machining(
) which is non-contact ultra precision machining method has been developed to fabricate the air-lubricated dynamic bearing and optimum parameters which are inter electrode gap size, concentration of electrolyte, machining time are simulated using numerical analysis program.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5450
In order to build a ship, painting on ship cargo tank is one of the most dangerous parts as it involves working in high altitudes and a closed ship cargo tank. Therefore, researchers have been developing devices that will enable mobile robots to operate on vertical walls. The wall-climbing robots have been widely used to attach on the wall such as suction types. These types can be utilized regardless of the wall material. However, it is required to adhere and control the suction cups. To moderate this drawbacks, this paper proposes an automatic painting robot that uses a permanent magnet mobile robot. Using the magnetic characteristics, this robot can move on the boat vertically and horizontally even while hanging on the ceiling of the ship cargo tank. Also, we made a prototype to test adhesive force of the permanent magnet wheel and mobile robot as well as the towing capacity and auto-piloting ability.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5469
The purpose of this study was to analyze relating with Faucult`s disciplinary power which factors influence a dancer`s self-management (weight control)Total 10 ballet major undergraduate students of two respective universities in Seoul and Daijon were selected for the research and the chosen method was an interview with them. After the researchers analyzed the interview result, they found out the following several significant results. The first reason that major ballet dancers control their weight is to show their beautiful figures on the stage and to make their appearances look slender in the mirror. Dancers adapt various methods for effective weight management (diet control) such as dietary control, 1 food intake (potatoes, bananas, grapes, etc), physical force to advise or ingest (injection, taking medicines, reflexology, vomiting, etc.) Then, what is the hidden vision that makes such a practice of weight control maintain? The study presents a "mirror" as a tool of control playing a significant role, in terms that the power of discipline functions automatically in a dancer`s body. In addition, another constant factor of dancers` weight management is monitoring each other`s performance continuously, which is called "synopticon" Symptoms. Lastly, the fact that a question about placing a ruler could function in the continuous practice was also revealed.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5477~5485
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5477
This study comparatively analyzed the instrumentation and the voicing structure, which were shown in the film music titled "Star Wars-Main Title" by John Williams(1932~), with analytical technique that the writer mapped out, and aimed to discover the progression principle in orchestration based on the results. Also, it applied a functional part-division method that was classified and distributed into 3 functional parts according to auditory cognitive level as for each of functional elements such as the musical element. And, it made it pattern for the vertical structure and the voicing structure in musical instruments, which were distributed to each functional part based on this, and comparatively analyzed the standard point in a change which were shown according to progression of music, namely, the operating technique. As for the results of this study, first, each theme has specific instrumentation pattern. Unity was emphasized by consistently organizing those things in exposition, reprise, and recapitulation of each theme. To reinforce diversity, an attempt was made such as adding and reducing auxiliary instruments in the middle part and the rear part. Second, even in a change of instrumentation pattern by passage in accordance with a change in theme amid each part, the same instrumental group was organized in the middle part, thereby having maintained unity. Third, to strengthen diversity by clause, which is forming each theme, a continuous change in voicing pattern was created by adding or omitting a part. Fourth, the voicing concentration was maintained the structure of "thinness-thickness" in the whole musical piece. However, in part 2 that is repeated theme 3, diversity was pursued with a unique change of "thickness-thickness." Fifth, in part 4 that is indicated theme 4, the other diversity was intensified with the inverted range in the front part and the middle part. Accordingly, based on the conclusions that were indicated in this work, it is desired to be conducive to understanding the horizontal consideration and the progression principle of orchestration.

These days, the hospital management are paying more and more attention to the issue about the increasing employee`s turnover ratio in hospital. Such issues are very important because the high turnover ratio reduce the productivity and morale of remaining workers, and means the unavoidable drainage of the accumulated know-how and technology of the hospital to the outsides. The result of such a negative development means the loss of competitive advantage compare to other hospitals. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the management`s leadership style influence on the job-satisfaction for the employees and the employee`s turnover intension. At this time we will refer the effect of the hospital brand image as moderator. The result of this study could present the guide line to the hospital managers about the desirable leadership style to enhance the employee`s productivity and also to reduce the turnover intention ratio.

The study conducted this experiment using the nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design, and carried out a
analysis and a t-test according to the data. Concerning the research results, first, keeping a educational diary of teaching practice affirmatively affected a teacher efficacy. Second, it did not significantly affect a teacher`s educational belief. Third, it did not significantly affect the organizational health of the kindergarten to practice according to the ways teachers-to-be feel. This study is meaningful in that keeping a reflective journal in which feedback by a guidance teacher for practice becomes the basic proposition may be replaced with the keeping of a diary of practice at the level of practicality. This means that a teacher`s sense of efficacy may improve simply by keeping a educational diary of teaching practice without feedback by a guidance teacher.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5601
The purpose of this paper is to better understand the socio-economic differentials of Internet access and use. Data from `2008 Korean Internet usage behavior` were used to conduct logistic regression analysis. The findings show that there are significant socio-economic(age, gender, educational attainment, employment situation, and Internet access type) disparity in Internet access(Internet access at home, broadband Internet access). Also socio-economic variables enter in as statistically significant in most specifications for Internet use intensity (Intensive internet use, frequent internet use, less frequent internet use). The gender, household income and education attainment explanations for large differential in Internet use intensity are generally very similar. It is shown that age, education attainment and household income level cause a large digital divide on Internet service use(information use, communication and community use, e-commerce use, Internet banking use).

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5622
This paper presents the simulation design and analysis of Integrated Logistics System(ILS) which is operated by using the AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). To maximize the operation performances of ILS with AGV, many parameters should be considered such as the number, velocity, and dispatching rule of AGV, part types, scheduling, and buffer sizes. We established the design of experiment in a way of Orthogonal Array in order to consider (1)maximizing the throughput; (2)maximizing the vehicle utilization; (3)minimizing the congestion; and (4)maximizing the Automated Storage and Retrieval System(AS/RS) utilization among various critical factors. Furthermore, we performed the optimization by using the simulation-based analysis and Evolution Strategy(ES). As a result, Orthogonal Array which is conducted far fewer than ES significantly saved not only the time but the same outcome when compared after validation test on the result from the two methods. Therefore, this approach ensures the confidence and provides better process for quick analysis by specifying exact experiment outcome even though it provides small number of experiment.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5633
Kim(2011) showed that the team-based teaching method which is focusing on the individual job assignment solves the backlash effects of peer-evaluation method and suggested that it should be studied if the job assignment teaching method does not worsen the learning outcomes. To analyse the learning outcomes of the job assignment teaching method is the purpose of this paper. This paper evaluates the improvement of the learning outcomes which are resulted from a variance of education style that each member of project team was given his specific task. Firstly, all the students evaluate a learning satisfaction and quality of outcomes by themselves. Secondly, an instructor and some professionals evaluate all the outputs. The results showed that the learning outcomes evaluated by students and instructors are improved significantly. The suggested method in this paper, which focuses on the job assignment of team project, could improve the learning outcomes of team project in engineering education.

The purpose of this study was to examine the state of oral health control education experiences among dental prosthesis users. The subjects in this study were 267 adults who were aged between 18 and less than 65 and resided in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. A survey was conducted from March to June, 2011, and the statistical package SPSS 11.5 was employed to analyze the collected data. The findings of the study were as follows: As for the state of education on the use of oral hygiene supplies, The unmarried respondents considered the use of oral hygiene supplies to be more conducive to oral health than the married ones. The respondents aged between 18 and 39 considered the use of dental hygiene supplies to be more beneficial to oral health than those aged between 40 and 64, and the former deemed it more absolutely necessary to use oral hygiene supplies than the latter). Those who used oral hygiene supplies viewed the use of oral hygiene supplies as more conducive to oral health and considered it more absolutely necessary to use oral hygiene supplies. The respondents expressed higher satisfaction with education on how to wash prosthesis and how to choose oral hygiene supplies. The above-mentioned findings illustrated that the dental prosthesis users were well aware of oral hygiene supplies, and that their satisfaction level with related education was not high in comparison with their awareness of oral hygiene supplies. Therefore dental institutions should provide more authentic education for dental prosthesis users.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5663~5670
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5663
This study performed empirical analyses of the static trade-off theory and the pecking order theory which explain financing behavior of firms. The results of regression analyses using the data of 762 listed non-financing firms on the KOSDAQ market from 2000 to 2010 have shown mixed evidences supporting either the trade-off theory or the pecking order theory. Specifically, as the effective tax rate and the firm size increases, debt ratio increases, which is consistent with the trade-off theory. However as the growth opportunity and the profitability increases, debt ratio decreases, which is consistent with the pecking order theory.

The purpose of this study is to examine effects of constraint-induced movement therapy(CIMT) and/or cognitive-perceptual training(CPT) on the change of hand function in cerebrovascular accident(CVA) patients and to evaluate the change in the amount and quality of use of the affected upper extremity in performing daily living tasks. The subjects of study were 10 patients who had been under rehabilitation for more than three months after CVA onset. They were all determined as mild cognition impairment according to NCSE or MVPT test. For CIMT group, to restrict the movement of the unaffected hand the subjects had been worn modified resting arm-splint in daytime for 4 weeks. For CIMT+CPT group, the subjects were performed CPT with CIMT and control group had been under conventional occupational therapy for the same period. CIMT+CPT group showed significant improvement in simulated feeding, lifting large light objects, and lifting large heavy objects of Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test. CIMT group also showed significant improvement compared with control group. The mean changes of the amount of use(AOU) of the affected arm had a statistically significant difference among groups (p<.05). While CIMT+CPT group had the biggest change in the quality of movement(QOM) of upper extremity of the affected side, CTL group showed the smallest change. Both CIMT and CIMT+CPT groups had statistically significant difference in the change in the quality of movement in upper extremity of affected side with CTL group(p<.05), but there was not significant difference between CIMT group and CIMT+CPT group. CIMT performed to the patients of stroke, with mild impairment in cognitive perceptual abilities showed the improvement in hand movement and AOU and QOM of upper extremity in the affected side and the combination of CIMT with CPT showed synergic effects.

Song, Chiang-Soon ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5741~5747
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5741
The purpose of this study was to find correlation between the Berg Balance Scale which is most commonly used and the equilibrium scores from Smart Balance Master System which is used for the test of the balance ability for the patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke to predict their falling risk though examining the postural control. Twenty-two subjects who had first stroke participated in this study. Participants were measured the Berg Balance Scale and the Smart Balance Master System. The study found that there was a significant correlation between the Berg Balance Scale and the equilibrium scores from Smart Balance Master System. And there was no significant correlation at all "eye-closed and sway of surfaces" in the 6 conditions of Smart Balance Master System and there was a significant correlation with over median in the other 5 conditions. The study was uncovered that there was no meaningful correlation between the Berg Balance Scale and "eye-closed and sway of surfaces" because chronic hemiparetic stroke patients heavily relied on their vision to maintain their balance ability and the Berg Balance Scale did not properly exam it. Thus to predict their falling risk in clinical practice for the patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke, it would be more efficient ways for us to consider all the effects of sensory organs with more than one clinical evaluation method.

This study was to investigate the change of gait temporal parameter and ankle joint moment between patients with achilles tendinitis and healthy people. Thus, the purpose of this study is to clarify biomechanical change of gait in patients with achilles tendinitis and to find risk factor for prevention of achilles tendinitis. We recruited 20 patients with an achilles tendinitis and 20 healthy people. While subjects shuttled 5 times on 13 m distance with comfortable pace, we examined gait function marker with three-dimensional gait analysis system. All subject outstepped center of forceplate during gait and calculated ankle joint moment using software. Obtained data was analyzed using SPSS 12.0 software. In results, we confirmed that patients with achilles tendinitis showed reduction of extension moment in early initial phase and reduction of flexion moment in mid-stance on hip joint. and reduction of flexion moment in early initial phase and reduction of extension moment in late phase on knee joint. And we identified that patients with achilles tendinitis showed reduction of dorsiflexion moment in early stance phase, maximal plantarflexion moment in mid stance phase, and dorsiflexion moment in late stance phase. Thus, there are biomechanical changes on gait in patients with achilles tendinitis compared to healthy people. And, in clinical settings, they should focus on changes of gait in patients with achilles tendinitis. Further study will be undertaken for the biomechanical changes of patietns with achilles tendinitis.

Twenty one healthy adult men and women who had not participated in a regular exercise program for the lower extremities were assigned to one of two experimental groups: vibration training group, Control group. We measured the VAS(Visual Analogue Scale), ankle plantar flexor strength, triceps surae circumference, CK(Creatine Kinase) before and after exercise and 24, 48 and 72 hours after eccentric exercise. After inducing DOMS, VAS showed significant differences between groups at a point of time 48 hours, and showed significant differences within groups in accordance with the time of measurement(p<.05). Plantar flexor strength of groups with VT did not show significant difference between groups but, showed significant differences within groups in accordance with the time of measurement(p<.05). Triceps surae circumference of groups with VT did not show significant difference between groups but, showed significant differences within groups in accordance with the time of measurement(p<.05). CK of groups with VT did not show significant difference between groups but, showed significant differences within groups in accordance with the time of measurement(p<.05). As a result of the study, VT prior to eccentric exercise is effective to inhibit pain. So, this method can be suggested to prevent DOMS in doing an unfamiliar activites.

Kim, Sung-Dae ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5838~5842
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5838
The study mainly aims to explore how deterioration of motor control center, namely MCC, and vibration put impact on temperature of bus bar as well as temperature change of bolt-nut joint. The motor control center consists of three internal parts (i.e. R, S, T) which are for motor operation of high capacity. Two dimensional mechanism for measuring temperature was designed and manufactured with infrared temperature sensor. Installing it in inner motor control center enabled researcher to monitor temperature of bus bar as well as amount of change of current regularly. Temperature change of bus bar according to load was primarily examined based on a bolted joint in the experiment. It was clearly verified that temperature change of bus bar was proportional to current consumption. Therefore, installing non-contact two dimensional mechanism for measuring temperature in motor control center would be expected to prevent temperature rise owing to overload current and power outage as well as fire accident which can be triggered by poor electrical contact.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5843~5848
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5843
To improve the efficiency of the channel spectrum and to reduce the power consumption of the system in EVRC, the voice signal is compressed and transmitted only when the user speaks to. In addition to this, voice frames are divided into three rates 1, 1/2 and 1/8 and each frame is handled differently. For example, we assumed that the input is silence region if the 1/8 rate is used. In this paper, the sections are firstly separated into the voiced speech signal region, unvoiced speech signal region, and silence region by using distribution characteristics of LSP parameters. Then the paper suggested to encode 1 rate for the voiced speech signal, 1/2 rate for the unvoiced speech signal region, 1/8 rate for the silence region. In other words, traditional way of transmission is used when sending full rate in the EVRC. However, when sending half rate, the voice is firstly distinguished between voiced and unvoiced. If the voice is distinguished as voiced, voice is converted into full rate before the transmission. If it is distinguished as silence, EVRC`s basic rate is applied. In the experimental results with SNR, ASDM, transmission bit rate measurement, we have demonstrated that voice quality was improved by using the proposed algorithm.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5849~5855
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5849
As application development environment changes rapidly, importance of user interface design is increasing. Usually, most of designers are clustering by subjective method of individual to define objects that have relativity in design interface. But, interface which is designed without particular rules just adds inefficiency and complexity of business to user who use this system. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an object oriented design model that allows for flexible development by formalizing the user interface prototype in any GUI environment. The visual cohesion of the user interface is a new set of criteria which has been studied in relation to the user interface contents, and is founded on the basis of the cohesion of the interface as defined using basic software engineering concepts. The visual cohesion includes the issue of how each unit is arranged and grouped, as well as the cohesion of the business events which appear in the programming unit. The interface will become easier to understand and use if the business events are grouped by their inter-relevance within the user interface.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5856~5864
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5856
In this paper, we propose a moving object detection method in road video sequences acquired from a stationary camera. Our proposed method is based on the background subtraction method using Gaussian pyramids in both the background images and input video frames. It is more effective than pixel based subtraction approaches to reduce false detections which come from the mis-registration between current frames and the background image. And to determine a threshold value automatically in subtracted images, we calculate the threshold value using Otsu`s method in each frame and then apply a scalar Kalman filtering to the threshold value. Experimental results show that the proposed method effectively detects moving objects in road video images.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5865~5872
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5865
Multi-hop communication in clustering system is the technique that forms the cluster to aggregate the sensing data and transmit them to base station through midway cluster head. Cluster head around base station send more packet than that of far from base station. Because of this hot spot problem occurs and cluster head around base station increases energy consumption. In this paper, I propose a cluster group head selection using trajectory clustering technique(CHST). CHST select cluster head and group head using trajectory clustering technique and fitness function and it increases the energy efficiency. Hot spot problem can be solved by selection of cluster group with multi layer and balanced energy consumption using it`s fitness function. I also show that proposed CHST is better than previous clustering method at the point of network energy efficiency.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5895
This paper shows that a scheme provided by An is not enough to satisfy security requirements for a user certification using a password-based smart card. In order to compensate this weakness, this study provides an improved user scheme with a hash function and ElGamal signature. This new scheme has some advantages protecting password guessing attack, masquerade, and replay attack as well as providing forward secrecy. Compared to An`s certification scheme, this scheme suggests that the effect of computational complexity is similar but the efficiency of safety is better.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5902~5909
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5902
In this paper, we propose a new method to detect abrupt and gradual shot transitions of video data by using certainty factors. The abrupt transitions denotes cuts and the gradual transitions fade in, fade out, dissolve, horizontal wipes, vertical wipes, Barn Doors, and Iris Rounds. The suggested method first extracts representative features for each shot transition and determines corresponding shot transitions by integrating all the extracted features and inferring adequate transitions. To verify the performance of the proposed shot transition method, experimental results show that the suggested method can detect shot transitions more accurately than existing methods.

Surface area of the steel member exposed to fire differs according to type and size of the section and the kind of the member, which shows a big difference in the temperature rise of the steel by fire. The section factor (
/A) is determined by factors such as type, size, and member of the steel and type of the fire protection material, and it is the criteria in determining thickness of the fire protection material. This study showed that the size of the steel increase regardless of the steel type, the section factor decrease. In the results on fire protection thickness of the steel according to the section factor, the efficiency of 1 hour fire protection was lower from 30 to 50% than the criteria. And there is the member, which have the thickness lower the minimum 27% in 2 hour fire protection, but it generally approached in the criteria. In case of H-shape steel, the efficiency of 3 hour fire protection was suitable for the criteria, but rectangular hollow steel section and circular hollow steel section were higher (5.0-17.5%) than the criteria.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5931
The effects of coupling beam, which is generally used in high-rise building structure system as shear wall-coupling beam, on the lateral drift of high-rise buildings are studied in this paper. Six different analytical models, which are combination of two inputs, such as concrete strength and wall thickness, are selected and analyzed on lateral drifts with different stiffness of coupling beams. MIDAS GEN was used for analysis. Calculated lateral drifts were compared with allowable limits(H/400~H/500) proposed by standard CEN EC 3/1, in order to analyze the control evaluation of coupling beams. Calculated x-direction displacements were 68~87 percent of allowable limit(H/500). With increase of wall thickness(100mm) and concrete strength(5Mpa), eight to ten percent and four percent of x and y-direction displacement were decreased individually. About three percent of lateral displacement was increased with 20 percent decrease of coupling beam stiffness and additional 20 percent decrease resulted in additional five to eight percent increase.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5963~5973
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5963
Current design and analyzing methods about soil nailing structures, developed on the basis of results obtained from experiments in laboratory or in field and numerical analyses, have applied different interaction mechanisms between the reinforced nails and the surrounding ground, and different safety factors against failure have been obtained. They might be proper approaches if the assumptions about rigidity of nails and ground conditions are met with actual conditions occurred in field. Otherwise, they would result in designing on analyzing in inappropriate ways so that it is needed to evaluate the validity of them. Therefore, in this research using the Centrifugal Model Testing, numerical parameters experiments about soil nailing structures` behavior and failure mechanism were performed. In the numerical parameters experiments, transmuted nail`s length, setting angle, nail`s front panel, stiffness variously, and increased the level of gravity until wall model was destroyed. Based on experimental results, we compared the effect, failure mechanism caused from parameters changes. By reviewing and comparing centrifugal model test results and methods currently in use, verified validity of existing methods.

Kim, Kyung-Sik ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 12, issue 12, 2011, Pages 5984~5989
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2011.12.12.5984
The buckling strength of a pin-ended column may be increased significantly by reinforcing it with an assemblage of cross-arm members rigidly connected to the modpoint of the column and stayed members connecting the ends of the columns and cross-arm members. The purpose of the stays and cross-arm members is to introduce restraint against translation and rotation and thereby decrease the effective buckling length of the column. In this study, buckling strengths of the reinforced columns were quantitatively evaluated from analytical solutions and elastic/inelastic finite elements analysis and the results were compared each other. It was found that the reinforcing system may increase the buckling strength up to 8 times compared to ones without reinforcing system.
