Experimental Study on the Spray Characteristics of a Fuel Injector for a Non-Road Small Engine

Since recently exhaust gas regulation for a non-road small engine as well as commercial vehicle engine has been enforced, a carburettor of a small engine should be replaced by an electronic fuel injection system. In this study, the spray characteristics of the 400cc gasoline small engine injector has been experimentally analyzed. Based on the experimental results, suitable injector for the small engine has been selected. Through the test rig measuring spray mass distribution, fuel distribution characteristics of 3 hole- and 6 hole-injector has been analyzed. Through the visualization equipment, injector spray angle, penetration length and spray width have been measured and analyzed. Considering spray characteristics and stability, 6 hole-injector is selected for the 400cc gasoline small engine.
NAH method for reducing sound source generated in air-conditioning rotary compressor

The paper demonstrates how to deal with the Near-field Acoustic Holography method (NAH) for reducing noise source which is generated in air-conditioning compressor. Sound radiation was measured for both normal compressor and fault compressor. The acoustic noise holograms are predicted by measuring at discrete multiple points around the two compressors and are thereafter reconstructed on the surface of the compressors. 1344 measuring points are used by two microphones in which one is scanning microphone and the other is reference microphone. NAH is a good tool for the visualization of Sound so we can show the source of sound graphically. In this paper, the NAH method found the exact noise source position on the surface of the compressor and the noise-related sub part in the compressor. We found the NAH and is very useful as a noise reduction tool for home-appliance device.
Effect of the Wear of Contact Tips on the Weld beads made by GMAW Process

The effect of the wear of contact tips on the weld beads made by a Gas Metal Arc Welding(GMAW) process was studied. In order to correlate between the wear of tips and beads, the droplet transfer was investigated by a high speed camera and waveform shapes, and the condition of beads was examined by a low magnification camera as well. It was found that the worn contact tip had caused to shift the contact point between the tip and the welding wire which resulted in nonuniform beads. In addition, the worn contact tip had changed the welding resistance and brought about the arc instability during welding.

Interference-free French door design using four-bar linkage mechanism

The French doors have the advantage that they can use inner space more efficiently due to without of partition between two rooms. However, when they are used for refrigerators, the door gaskets for sealing may cause interference of themselves during opening and closing, which causes fatal effect on sealing by worn out of the gaskets as well as increases door opening force. This research proposes a new mechanism for the French doors using the parallelogram motion of 4-bar linkage mechanism, which does not make any interference between gaskets. We manufactured the French doors of proposed mechanism to verify that they do not cause any interference during opening and closing, as well as opening force is decreased. The use of our developed mechanism is not limited to refrigerators, but can be extended to other industrial products with the French doors.
A Production Planning Framework for Slim MES in TFT-LCD Lines

This paper presents a framework for production planning for a Slim MES(Manufacturing Execution System) of module operations in TFT-LCD(Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) production lines. There are differences in the line configurations and functions among the module operations in the TFT-LCD production systems. This paper presents the framework for the customized MES reflecting these differences. First, a production process is figured out through the analysis of the TFT-LCD module operations. Next, a mathematical modeling is presented reflecting the constraints of shop floors and an optimal schedule is presented through a case example. And a scheduling process using the dispatching rules reflecting the status of shop floors is presented and the performances are measured and compared. Finally, a design process for the Slim MES framework is presented.
Development of the Energy Harvesting System Using Door Torque

The aim of this paper is to propose an energy harvesting system by converting mechanical energy of revolving door into electrical energy. The method of energy harvesting system is discussed on two methods: one is the energy-harvester using gear shaft coupling system, and the other is the energy-harvester using spiral spring system. The former is generated by coupling the shaft of rotating door with generator system, while the latter is generated by connecting end-effector of door with the string of generator system. We present the experimental results for two developed energy-harvester. Finally, a comparison between these results is presented to show the validity of energy-harvester.
Experimental Study on Spray Characteristics of Gasoline Direct Injection Multi-hole Injector

The purpose of this paper is to investigate spray characteristics of GDI injector that is economic and environment-friendly. Injector characteristics such as penetration length, spray angle and mixture formation were measured using experimental visualization technique. Especially, it has been analyzed that the influences of ambient pressure and injection pressure on penetration length and spray angle. To visualize the spray, a constant volume combustion chamber and fuel supply system have been manufactured. A high-speed camera and LED light source have been applied to obtain spray images. The experimental and visualization result shows that the penetration length is increased as decreasing ambient pressure and/or increasing injection pressure. Also, ambient pressure and injection pressure have minor effect on the spray angle variation.
Performance Review of a Cycloid Speed Reducer for Ship Transport Vehicles using FEM

A cycloid speed reducer is one of the rotational speed regulation devices of the machinery. A cycloid speed reducer has an advantage of transmitting high torque, but is known to be unsuitable for high speed rotation. However, it is almost impossible in an analytical method to find a use limit speed when installing such a speed reducer in a 200ton loading transporter. In this research the cycloid reducer was simulated to get its performance depending on friction energy loss in time domain by using by LS-DYNA. The maximum torque of the cycloid speed reducer is 3.5ton-m, so the comparison of analysis results between a case of 60rpm rotation and a case of 162rpm rotation with such a torque showed the following results. In the case of 60rpm rotation, the maximum stress appearing in the RV gear and the pin gear was 463MPa and 507MPa. Lost power due to friction was 50kW; In the case of 162rpm rotation, the maximum stress appearing in the RV gear and the pin gear was 550MPa and 538MPa. Lost power due to friction was 175kW, which was shown to be almost impossible to use.

The recent trend in technology development is characterized as technology convergence, mainly between IT, BT and NT and also more and more industries are starting to use several technologies simultaneously or in a combined way theses days. As a result, the needs on technology interaction analysis is increasing for strategic technology management and policy-making. Responding to the needs, this research deals with technology innovation process in terms of technology competition, particularly focusing on the 17 new growth drivers in 3 areas, which has been announced by the Korean government as a new growth vision for Korean economy, and analyzing their co-evolutionary process. For the analysis, patent data, a representative data on technology innovation, is adopted. Then, Lotka-Volterra Competition model, a model frequently used to describe the dynamism of competitive innovation is applied to the data. The research results are expected to support strategic decision-makings such as effect policy-making or R&D priority-setting, by analyzing the relationship between the 3 areas, the 17 new growth drivers, or the particular technologies in the drivers.
A Study on Internal and External Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Intentions of Korean Professional Soldiers Waiting for Retirement: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Entrepreneurial Support Programs

The purpose of this study is to study internal and external factors affecting entrepreneurial intention of korean professional soldiers who are supposed to retire less than one year. Another main focus of this study is to find out whether there is mediating effect of entrepreneurial support programs for entrepreneurial intentions. In this research, data were collected from 361 officers and non-commission officers who are scheduled to retire from the military within 5 months to one year after at least 10 years of military service. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS using the regression analysis method. In this study, we found that internal factors did not positively affect entrepreneurial intentions, however, external factors positively affected entrepreneurial intentions. It was also found that entrepreneurial support programs played important role as moderating variables between social perceptions toward entrepreneurs and their entrepreneurial intentions. Based on these findings, implications of research implications are discussed, and recommendations for future research were provided.
Effect of individuality-relatedness and well-being of the youth on creativity

This study was conducted as an explorative effort to know significant variables on creativity. Particularly, with interest in individuality-relatedness and well-being, it is investigated that how those affect creativity of the youth. For this, a questionnaire measuring integrative creativity, individuality-relatedness and integrative well-being is given to 836 middle and high school students in Seoul and investigate relationship among variables. The results show higher individuality, relatedness and well-being tend to induce higher creativity. Each of individuality, relatedness and creativity has different influences on creativity. Over the whole creativity, explanation gets higher in order of individuality, well-being and relatedness. When creativity and well-being are classified into a sub-category, creative motivation has a high explanation in order of individuality, psychological well-being and relatedness. And creative attitude has a high explanation in order of individuality, relatedness and psychological well-being. About creative ability, all the predictors are explained in order of individuality, psychological well-being, relatedness, emotional well-being and social well-being.
The Influential Analysis for Customer Preference in the Perceived Quality of Hypermarket PB

Despite the PB diffusion introduced as a strategic competitive factor from the change of a retailing business, the study of PB perceived quality in a customer aspect is poor. Therefore, this study led the influential factors to retailer attribute and product attribute through overall analysis. Also, the study found the influential attributes affecting the perceived quality and analysed the influential power linking to customer satisfaction and preference through the perceived quality. The examined results of the study have known that each attribute links to customer satisfaction via the only perceived quality. The strategic PB sales advantage should be achieved as giving customers the overall perceived quality, and has shown that it can increase the customer preference for PB.
Chaebolgroups Propping: Evidence from the Stock-Price Effects by Changing of Corporate Bond Rating

I examine propping within chaebolgroups, using changes of bond rating events made by corporate credit evaluation institutions. Much studies related to the internal capital market and tunneling have enhanced our understanding of the important function of chaebolgroups in emerging market, but relatively little is known about propping within affiliated firms. In a common sense, propping implies capital reallocation within affiliated firms to save a financially troubled affiliate. In event study on announcement the changes of corporate bond rating, I found most positive numbers in chaebolgroup's CAR. Particularly when lower change than higher change, decrease ratio of CAR is higher positively in chaebolgroups, which relatively shows that there is more propping effects in chaebolgroups than non-chaebolgroups. In multi-regression analysis, after strengthen restriction of internal mutual investment, propping effects are decreased positively in chaebolgroups than non-chaebolgroups when credit rating adjust lower, which implies there was more propping in chaebolgroups.
The Analysis of Theses Content Related to Parents' Needs for Their Education

The purpose of this study is to draw a general conclusion through summing up theses on parents' need for their education up to the present. The subjects of this study are 25 masters' degree theses on parents' need for their education in the kindergarten from 2001 to 2010. The results of data on parents' education method and style were conducted by frequency analysis. Also it was surveyed if in how many theses the contents of parents' education were rated over average points by Licker. The results of this study are as follows: First, the parents think that the proper frequency of their education is once or two in a semester and the favorite time is from 10 to 12 o'clock or from 2 p. m. to 4 p.m. They also want to learn on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. And they want a professional as their lecturer the most and then a homeroom teacher. Secondly, in the survey of their education style they like more lecture or a short course than any other thing, and then they like home messenger, group council and so on. But especially they don't like the style of visiting class, book lending, ceremony/class assistance, practice (workshop), and visiting home. Thirdly, they want to know a general guide in the kindergarten of the contents of their education a lot. And they want to know some of a budget, program, and assessment of a principal and the teachers in the kindergarten. Fourthly, they want to know all parts of the parents' roles related to rearing their children in their own elements of the contents of their education above all. And they also want strongly their free time, hobby, the liberal arts, amusement and recreation. Fifthly, in the view of infant development they want strongly to know how to communicate with their children rightly, and how to adjust their children's activities and how to praise or blame their children. And they also want how to form their children's right habit and to guide their children's right acts in the infant period the most. Lastly, they want to know children's physical development and their cognitive development in the view of infant development the most. And then they want to know the development of sociology, creativity, morality, and emotion in good order.
Design and Development of a Teaching Assessment System for Improving Teaching Skill in u-Campus

The purpose of this research is to design and develop an evaluation system with a view to improving teaching skills in the u-Campus environment. To achieve the purpose, this research analyzed various theories on the effectiveness of teaching and teaching evaluation system, extracting several evaluation factors which are to be included in the system. Based on these evaluation factors, this research developed a prototype by reflecting teaching assessment, coaching, self-reflection, portfolio, supervisor selection, user authority in sharing the portfolio and ubiquitous technology. This prototype differs from the existing evaluation methods in that it can enlarge the extent of supervisors other than professors according to their own selecting and can reduce the burden of assessment task, thus improve their teaching skills. This teaching evaluation system using portfolio and ubiquitous technology will be an innovative alternative to conventional assessment methods and will be of great help to qualitative progress in higher level education.
A Study on Setting the Direction of Development for the Functional and Mixed Drinks using the Jeju Water

The environment of the health food in the world has been changed very rapidly. The world market volume of functional drinks in 2012 will be estimated at $ 26.9 billion, and Asia-Pacific market is expected to be $ 13.6 billion. The domestic market volume of bottled water in 2008 was 440 billion won, and "Jeju Samdasu" sales was 89.1 billion won. But the brand of "Jeju Samdasu" has the limits. As a solution, the comprehensive advertising of the excellence quality of Jeju water is required. To increase the likelihood of success in development of functional and mixed drinks by the water is necessary to develop a global integrated brand. In developing the functional and mixed drinks by the water, we apply the functionality of the Jeju agricultural products actively, and connect Jeju Water industry with Jeju agricultural industry, which promote the overproduction control and the high value- added agricultural products.
A Comparison Study between Current Capability and Required Capability of Managers in Business Incubator

Managers in Business Incubator(BI) perform an important role to success of BI, but researches about what area of capability need to improve are limited. This study investigates the perceived gap between current capability and required capability of BI managers from BI managers' and CEOs' perspectives with a survey method. From the BI managers' perspective, improvement of most capabilities, such as financing support, R&D support and understanding of patents, and understanding of business of firms in BI, is needed. From CEOs' perspective, improvement of capability in financing and marketing support is needed.
A Study on the Feasibility of a National Practical Examination in the Radiologic Technologist

Currently practical examination can't function as a practical technique ability evaluation', so there is a contradiction which even though a radiologist passed an examination for license, he has to complete a training course. To improve this problem, this study tried to deduce the most reasonable plan from the analysis of propriety of currently practical examination and what improvement points are. This conduct study was compared and analyzed the performance or practical examination of radiology from leading advanced countries within the samples of 634 radiologists, 56 professors of radiology. From the result of this study, it showed that radiology practical examination was difficult to be substituted by radiology clinical training since there were some critical differences between conditions of domestic and advanced countries. Therefore, the introduction of the radiology practical examination is inevitable and necessary. However the currently practical examination can't evaluate actual practical ability, so we could conclude that converting it into OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) form is essential. From now on, we should consider more about an in-depth study on types of advanced practical examination and how to suggest and present them in order to become an one of the advanced countries for radiologic technologist.
Musculoskeletal Symptoms and Related Factors among Nurses in a University Hospital

This study evaluated the complaint rates of musculoskeletal symptoms and investigated the related factors of musculoskeletal symptoms among nurses in a university hospital. For 249 nurses working at the ward, we used the self-administered questionnaires to examine sociodemographic, health related factors, job-related, subjective musculoskeletal symptoms designed by NIOSH. during the period from Aug. 1st to Aug. 31st, 2010. As a results, one and more of musculoskeletal symptoms was 66.3%, and two and more of that was 45.8%. The complaint rates of musculoskeletal symptoms were 44.2% in the shoulders, 33.7% in the low back, 33.3% in the legs/feet, 29.7% in the neck, 14.9% in the hands/wrists/fingers, 4.8% in the arms/elbows. For the age adjusted odds ratio for the musculoskeletal symptoms of neck, shoulders, low back and legs/feet, the groups who are shift work, staff nurse, who reported that their subjective health status are not good, and whose physical burden of works are hard were increased than their respective counterparts. In conclusion, the complaint rates of musculoskeletal symptoms was differently revealed by variable factors such as sociodemographic, health related factors and job-related factors.
The effect of Holistic Health Program on spiritual well-being and mental health in nursing students

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Holistic Health Program on spiritual well-being and mental health of nursing students. A one-group pretest-posttest research design was used. The subjects were 42 nursing students attending C College located in Y city. All subjects participated in 13 week holistic health program. The data were analyzed using frequency, paired t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of this study were as followings; First, the score of spiritual well-being was significantly increased after Holistic Health Program in the subjects. Second, the score of mental heath was significantly increased after Holistic Health Program in the subjects. Based on these results, it was concluded that Holistic Health Program is effective for improving spiritual well-being and mental health of nursing students. Therefore, we recommend this program to be utilized as an effective method for improving spiritual well-being and mental health of nursing students. And this results will provide basic data to develop nursing practice curriculum in the nursing college.
The Protective Effects of Kamdootang on Accumulation of Cadmium in Rats

To find out the protective effects of Kamdootang against accumulation of cadmium in rats, the experimental rats were divided into 2 groups. One group was administered with cadmium alone and the other group administered with cadmium mixed with Kamdootang. Each group has been orally administered with different doses of cadmium such as 1.7
, respectively, for 1 to 8 weeks. As a results, body weight gained has a tendency to decrease more in the Kamdootang treated groups and non-treated groups than in control group. Cadmium accumulation in kidney showed a significant difference between the Kamdootang treated group and Kamdootang non-treated group. As the experiment period is longer and longer, both groups have got more significantly cadmium accumulation amounts. The kidney system was researched through histopathological observation that Multiple foci of necrosis, hemorrhagic necrosis in glomeruli and cloudy swelling of tubules in kamdootang non-treated group. but tissue lesion of kidney was showed less kamdootang treated group than Kamdootang non-treated group. As remarked above results, when dose low concentrated Cd in rat, Kamdootang was reduced accumulation of Cd. in kidney.
The Effects of Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation on the Gait Symmetry in the Chronic Stroke Patients

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of gait training using rhythmic auditory stimulation on gait symmetry of stroke patients. Forty chronic stroke patients were divided into four groups by intervention. Group A and B received auditory stimulation when they walk with comfortable gait speed. Group A received auditory stimulation to paralyzed side while group B to non-paralyzed side. Group C and D received auditory stimulation with 10% faster gait speed than their comfortable gait speed. Group C received auditory stimulation to paralyzed side while group D to non-paralyzed side. Gait training using auditory stimulation was done in each group during five minutes. Gait symmetry was evaluated by formula and temporal variables of gait were measured by gait analysis system. Step time was decreased significantly in all groups except group A (P<.05), and gait symmetry was also improved significantly in all groups except group A (P<.05). Cadence was increased significantly in all groups except group A (p<.05), but velocity was not increased in all groups. Therefore we conclude that RAS gait training is effective in improving gait symmetry and can be useful to stroke patient's gait training.
Three Dimensional Stress Analysis of a Dental Implant with Central Cavity

In this study, we propose a new short dental implant and investigate its bio-mechanical characteristics by using three dimensional finite element analyses. The proposed dental implant has the central cavity which can be integrated with the core of cancellous bone remained by trepanning drill. We take the Bicon short implant as a reference model for studying the effects according to the shape of cavity. The parametric finite element model using ANSYS APDL has been built to determine which length, diameter and thread of central cavity would be effective to dissipate stress. The reduction of undesirable stress in adjacent bone which can suppress bone defects and the eventual failure of implants. The numerical results shows that the cavity of well-determined shape has the beneficial effects on reducing the bone absorption in cancellous bone.

This study was to examine the change of vowel acoustic characteristics of the temporomandibular joint disorder patients by maintaining normal vocalization pattern of the temporomandibular joint through increasing the range of motion, that was, the oral cavity sonorant cavity of the temporomandibular joint, related to vowel articulation through temporomandibular training using the physical therapy. When taking PET/CT, the distortion of the image happens due to the movement of a lesion with respiration. In this study, the experiment was conducted to see if the change in SUV value and distortion of the image could be somewhat corrected by comparing the image which was not compensated with that of the region of lung nodule, compensated with respiration compensation Plumonary Toolkit possessed by this hospital. The records of 17 patients with Lung cancer between May and August 2008. As the result of the experiment, Max SUV value increased by from 4.08% minimum to 43.10% maximum, and the average Max SUV value of lung nodule increased from 6.07 to 7.00(12.16%). In the case of respiration compensation PET/CT, the distortion of the image improved. As there was no significance in the comparison of SCC and Adenocarcinom respectively, though there was a statistically significant level(P<0.05) before and after respiration compensation in SCC-Adenocarcinoma, there was an effect in respiration compensation regardless of Cell types. As the result of the experiment, it was found out that the distortion of standard intake coefficient value and the image was compensated Therefore, the diagnosis of lung cancer and follow up will be able to help.
Relationship of Goal Orientation, Flow Experience and Self-Accomplishment among College Students Receiving Lifeguard Education

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of goal orientation, flow experience and self-accomplishment among students who received lifeguard education. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the task-involvement of the college students receiving lifeguard education, which was one of the sub-variables of goal orientation, had an impact on cognitive flow and behavioral flow, and ego-involvement affected cognitive flow. Second, the task-involvement of the college students receiving lifeguard education, which was one of the sub-variables of goal orientation, exercised an influence on their self-realization, display of ability and development of ability, which were the task-involvement of self-accomplishment. Besides, ego-involvement impacted on self-realization. Third, the cognitive flow and behavioral flow of the college students receiving lifeguard education, which were the sub-variables of flow experience, exerted an influence on self-realization, display of ability and development of display, which were the sub-variables of self-accomplishment. Fourth, the goal orientation of the college students receiving lifeguard education had a firsthand relationship to flow experience and self-accomplishment, and that had a secondhand causal relationship to self-accomplishment through flow experience as well.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of basic integrative lecture course of medical college through cyber lecture. This study was also aimed to develop and implement a progressive cyber-teaching method which integrative lecture system is concerned for medical students. In this study, effectiveness of cyber lecture on the student's satisfaction, content difficulty and course management were analyzed by way of anonymous survey at the end of basic neuroscience integrative lecture course. Survey data were also analyzed with statistical tools to find out strength of correlation between students degree of satisfaction to cyber lecture and their individual grade of this course. The majority of students held positive opinions on course management, level of difficulty in each session, utilizing multimedia contents and preferred cyber lecture system to be continued in the future. Many students also suggested intimate integration of multimedia contents shown in cyber lecture to the lab sessions for the maximization of educational effect. In this study, it suggested that cyber lecture could be a useful tool in teaching integrative medical subjects and play more important role in the future integrative medical subjects with the improvement of present problems and limitations.
Influence of Sleep Quality, Occupational Stress and Fatigue on Depression Among Small-scale Manufacturing Male Workers

This study was performed to determine the depression and its association with sleep quality, occupational stress and fatigue among small-scale manufacturing male workers. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 856 workers under 50 members of manufacturing industries during the period from April 1st to June 30th, 2010. As a results, the distribution of depression group(21 point and over at CES-D score) among all subjects were 44.3%, and it was positively correlated with occupational stress, fatigue and quality of sleep. With the analysis of covariance structure, occupational stress(KOSS) was more influential on the depression than quality of sleep and fatigue. It was found to have the inter-relational effects that the higher the occupational stress(KOSS) and fatigue(MFS), and the lower the quality of sleep, the higher the depression. Thus the effective strategy for depression reduction among workers requires the efforts to improve the work environment and job contents.
Design of a Highly Integrated Palette-type High Power Amplifier Module Using GaN Devices for DPD Application

This paper describes the design of a palette-type 60watt high power amplifier module using gallium nitride(GaN) devices with high power and efficiency performances for WiMAX and LTE systems. The line-up for the high gain amplifier module consists of the pre-amplifier stage with low power and high gain, 8watt GaN driving amplifier stage, and 60watt GaN high power amplifier stage of Doherty structure with two 30watt GaN devices. The obtained gain is 61.4dB with an excellent gain flatness of
0.075dB over 2.5~2.68GHz. GaN devices and the Doherty structure are adopted for the improvement of high efficiency and output power. The measurement for the fabricated high power amplifier module of palette type is performed using the widely known WiMAX signal all over the world. In the example of RRH(remote radio head) application of the fabricated amplifier module, the measured efficiency is 37~38% with the 10watts of modulated output power. It is shown that when the fabricated amplifier module is activated with a digital predistorter(DPD), the measured ACLR is better than 46dBc under the 10watts of modulated output power.

This paper analyzed the problems of the Korean output regulation in the relevant band through an analytic comparison of the current trend of each country and their standard values concerning the technical standard of low power u-IT equipments. In connection with the standard value of technical values of each country, which has been proposed in the registration of the appropriate electric wave, the paper aims to propose the standard value that could actually be introduced for suitable low power u-IT installations in Korea. Provided that the Korean standard may be upgraded based on the tolerances of technical standards proposed in this paper, this is expected to be committed to the distribution and advancement of low power u-IT equipments; and further, it is anticipated to be prepared with competitiveness not only in the Korean communications market, but also in the international communications market.

Being the most widely used in ultrasound Doppler color flow mapping, the Kasai algorithm, also known as lag-1 autocorrelation method, is capable of estimating the Doppler mean frequency relatively accurately with a modest amount of computation. Particularly in the case of imaging deep lying areas, however, its performance suffers due to low signal-to-noise ratios. The purpose of this paper is to propose a dealiased lag-2 autocorrelation method which is superior to the Kasai algorithm even at low signal-to-noise ratios and to compare their performances through simulations. The proposed algorithm is found to be better by about 2 to 3 dB than the Kasai algorithm in terms of Doppler mean frequency estimation error in the presence of measurement noise.

In most of radial distribution systems, the overcurrent protection coordination is adopted for the protection of apparatus and the improvement of electrical power system reliability. The protection coordination structure in distribution substation is composed of several circuit breakers(CB) with distribution lines originating from one substation bus under one transformer, which trip for their fault current. But sufficient analysis is necessary for the capacity of CB's in distribution systems with several distribution generations(DG). In this paper, a protection coordination method not to exceed the traditional capacity of CB's was proposed and certified through simulation by the PSCAD-EMTDC S/W.

This paper is the research on SMSR yield improvement of the optical transceiver using modulated DFB laser. In general, the wavelength of DFB laser optical transceiver are 1310, 1490 and 1550 nm. Usually SMSR in modulated DFB is difficult to improve as low as 30 dB because of high slop efficiency trade off. In modulation condition, we studied SMSR improvement according to adjust bias current, extinction ratio and optical line terminal receiver sensitivity. As our test results, we can found a method how to improve SMSR for optical transceiver for long distance.

Design of A Miniaturized Low Pass Filter Using Common Defected Ground Structure

This paper describes and presents the design of a miniaturized low pass filter (LPF) for microwave frequency region using a common defected ground structure (CDGS). In this study a half-sized LPF is obtained using CDGS, while the previous LPFs with the conventional DGS showed a mild size-reduction. The common DGS (CDGS) is realized on the common ground plane of two microstrip lines, i. e double-sided microstrip lines, which exist back-to-back to each other. In order to show the validity of the proposed design, an example of LPF using CDGS and double-sided microstrip lines is designed, fabricated and measured using the dielectric substrate with the dielectric constant of 2.2 and with the thickness of 31mils. The size of the designed LPF using CDGS is only 52.6% compared to that of the previous LPF with the conventional DGS. In addition, it is shown that the performances of the proposed LPF are well preserved after the size-reduction with the measured S11 and S21 of -22dB, min and -0.19dB, max, respectively.

General cryptosystem uses differently the data and key value for the increment of security level, processes the repetition of limited number and increases the periodic feature of LFSR similar infinite series. So, it cause the efficiency of the cryptosystem. In this thesis, proposed algorithm is composed of reformat, permutation, data cipher block and key scheduler which is applied the new function by mixed symmetric cryptography and asymmetric cryptography. We design the cryptosystem of smart card using the common Synopsys and simulate by ALTERA MAX+PLUS II at 40MHz. Consequently, we confirm the 52% increment of processing rate and the security level of 16 rounds.

The present paper relates to an analysis into patent applications by most exemplary patent-filing countries using time series analysis for a patented technology in which washing water in a water purifier is changed to magnetization hexagon water beneficial to human body, particularly the patented technology being to a magnetization hexagon water producing technology in which a magnetizer is mounted at an inlet pipe into which washing water is introduced to a water purifier, whereby the washing water is changed into magnetization hexagon water that is beneficial to human body for hygienic maintenance and use of bidet and toilet. In view of patent application trends in magnetization hexagon water producing technology fields, it can be easily noted from the analysis that a large portion of patent applications for the magnetization hexagon water producing technology comes from Korea and Japan, while USA and European countries are decreasing the number of patent applications and applicants. Therefore, there is a constant need of continuously observing the patent-filing trends in Korea and Japan in light of protection of patent rights in businesses that utilize the magnetization hexagon water. In view of the fact that many researches on and developments of products related to magnetization hexagon water are expected in the future, relevant producers and research institutes may effectively utilize the present paper in industrialization and patent research of the magnetization hexagon water.

The economy of the EU left behind the U. S. economy in many different aspects and the gap is widening. One major reason that promoted the EU's leading position is the ability to continuously advancing industrial technology and therefor secures the EU's leading position through a high level of competitiveness. The role as a powerhouse of the technological development is nurtured by a systematic attempt of the EU commission to stimulate international cooperation. Although the EU is focussing its efforts on international cooperation between EU members states, nonmembers, namely Korea, can benefit from this policy as well and generate win-win outcomes for both cooperating partners. The paper aims in the first chapter to introduce international technological cooperations in general. The second chapter identifies the political approach of both countries towards technological cooperations. The third chapter introduces the research method. In the forth chapter is analyzed a case study of two cooperation projects between Japan and the EU. Finally, implications for Korean policy makers are given.

Gait recognition is the method to identify the person who walks in front of camera using characteristics of individuals by a sequence of images of walking people. The accuracy of biometric such as fingerprint or iris is very high; however, to provide information needs downsides which allow users to direct contact or close-up, etc. There have been many studies in gait recognition because it could capture images and analysis characteristics far from a person. In order to recognize the gait of person needs a continuous sequence of walking which can be distinguished from the individuals should be extracted features rather than an single image. Therefore, this paper proposes a method of gait recognition that the motion of objects in sequence is described the characteristics of a shape sequence descriptor, and through a variety of experiments can show possibility as a recognition technique.

The Unmanned Ground Vehicle is comprised of four systems of obstacle detection: The navigation system, vehicle controlling system, obstacle detecting and an integration system that use the various sensors. The research introduced utilizes 6 lasers to recognize obstacles. The system operates an avoidance system within the unmanned ground vehicle, using six lasers. The Unmanned Ground Vehicle's parallel parking and right angle parking is in development using algorithms. This algorithms' certification is intended to be installed in the encoder, in the GPS. By using the Laser Scannerfor the position's calculation, errors are both reduced and minimized, so the tire's slip minimized to the point where the vehicle had a limit of about 5Km/h.

Today's digital broadcasting services based on DVB-SI standard are provided a two-way broadcast. However, using the power of STB if the user does not use a waste of time spent on standby power is becoming a serious problem. Accordingly, for energy savings both at home and abroad to actively promote green policies, but highly functional STB, the internal software to automatically update the appropriate scheduling techniques are not shown, power usage does not meet the standard can. Therefore, In this paper We analyze the current STB technology and the problems, as proper use of power to the standard STB design scheme and the automatic software installation method of operation is presented.
A Study on Web-User Clustering Algorithm for Web Personalization

The user clustering for web navigation pattern discovery is very useful to get preference and behavior pattern of users for web pages. In addition, the information by the user clustering is very essential for web personalization or customer grouping. In this paper, an algorithm for clustering the web navigation path of users is proposed and then some special navigation patterns can be recognized by the algorithm. The proposed algorithm has two clustering phases. In the first phase, all paths are classified into k-groups on the bases of the their similarities. The initial solution obtained in the first phase is not global optimum but it gives a good and feasible initial solution for the second phase. In the second phase, the first phase solution is improved by revising the k-means algorithm. In the revised K-means algorithm, grouping the paths is performed by the hyperplane instead of the distance between a path and a group center. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more efficient.
Efficient Disk Access Method Using Region Storage Structure in Spatial Continuous Query Processing

Ubiquitous applications require hybrid continuous query processing which processes both on-line data stream and spatial data in the disk. In the hybrid continuous spatial query processing, disk access costs for the high-volume spatial data should be minimized. However, previous indexing methods cannot reduce the disk seek time, because it is difficult that the data are stored in contiguity with others. Also, existing methods for the space-filling curve considering data cluster have the problem which does not cluster available data for queries. Therefore, we propose the region storage structure for efficient data access in hybrid continues spatial query processing. This paper shows that there is an obvious improvement of query processing costs through the contiguous data storing method and the group processing for user queries based on the region storage structure.
Communication Equalizer Algorithms with Decision Feedback based on Error Probability

For intersymbol interference (ISI) compensation from communication channels with multi-path fading and impulsive noise, a decision feedback equalizer algorithm that minimizes Euclidean distance of error probability is proposed. The Euclidean distance of error probability is defined as the quadratic distance between the probability error signal and Dirac-delta function. By minimizing the distance with respect to equalizer weight based on decision feedback structures, the proposed decision feedback algorithm has shown to have significant effect of residual ISI cancellation on severe multipath channels as well as robustness against impulsive noise.

The voice has distinguishable acoustic properties of speaker as well as transmitting information. The speaker recognition is the method to figures out who speaks the words through acoustic differences between speakers. The speaker recognition is roughly divided two kinds of categories: speaker verification and identification. The speaker verification is the method which verifies speaker himself based on only one's voice. Otherwise, the speaker identification is the method to find speaker by searching most similar model in the database previously consisted of multiple subordinate sentences. This paper composes feature vector from extracting MFCC coefficients and uses the dynamic time warping algorithm to compare the similarity between features. In order to describe common characteristic based on phonological features of spoken words, two subordinate sentences for each speaker are used as the training data. Thus, it is possible to identify the speaker who didn't say the same word which is previously stored in the database.
Estimation of Vertical Stress Developed in Subsurface due to Additional Embankment

The needs for enlargement of width of existing embankment have been increasing due to heavy traffic and large amount of transporting goods. In this study, it was intended to derive formula for estimating vertical stress induced by additional embankment. Theoretical background for handling plain strain problem was investigated. It can be seen that stress function considered in the analysis was justifiable for compatibility and boundary condition. Notes for using derived formula were also considered.

This study focused on the transition from modularity of a mechanical construction system to the seriality in a digital production system in architecture and arguing how digital design process affects the design of surface in the contemporary architecture and development of digital technology actively intermediate surface of architecture and expressive characteristics of media on surface. DSM (Deep Soil Mixing) is to establish soil-cement column by injecting of cement slurry and blending it in soft ground and have been introduced to Singapore in 1980s and now a days quite popular and considered as alternative method to the jet grouting for temporary earth retaining works and foundations. Herein this paper, the results of lab mixing test based on comparison of characteristics between OPC (Original Portland Cement) and PBFC (Portland Blast Furnace Slag Cement), DSM field trial test and main installation results including monitoring, was presented and it would be referred to similar site later.

Ghana is the country that produces world's biggest production of Cacao. Cacao is the main ingredient of chocolate, which has been widely used in a variety of food as its anti-oxidantal effect is well known to public. Moreover, Ghana-produced Cacao is known to have a bigger amount of polyphenol compared to the ones produced elsewhere, and as they are not processed with alkali Ghana-produced Cacoa is slightly acidic as it is. This project aimed at analysing this natural Ghana Cacao's polyphenol composition, developed cosmetic mask using it and don skin irritation tests in order to study skin improvement effect. As a result, it was found that Ghana-produced Cacao contains approximately 3.6% of tannin, showing 5.6 pH. From the result of the first skin irritation test, the result of experiment of the cometic masks which contain 15% of Ghana cacao powder showed that the irritation was not shown. After 120 minutes, in the experiment of skin improvement effect, it was proved to have skin improvement effect, appearing 20% increase in skin moisture, -17% decrease in skin moisture evaporation, convergence of 5.3pH, 24% increase in skin elasticity.
Adsorption/Desorption Properties of VOCs on Activated Carbon Fiber

We investigated the adsorption/desorption property of volatile organic compounds(VOC) by using activated carbon fibers(ACF) instead of activated carbon(AC) which is conventionally used. The adsorption behavior of the fixed bed and the breakthrough characteristics were also studied. As a result, ACFj showed 1.15 times higher adsorption amount as compared to AC. The breakthrough Point and adsorption amount of VOCs were decreased with the increase of temperature. In the case of AC, desorption time having 99% removal efficiency was about as minutes, but that of ACF was about 5 minutes at same condition.
Design of Reformate Fractionation Process with Thermally Coupled Distillation Column

Design of reformate fractionation process using a fully thermally coupled distillation is conducted with commercial design software Aspen HYSYS. Detailed procedure of the design is explained, and the performance of the process is compared with that of a conventional system. The design outcome indicates that the procedure is simple and efficient. The performance of the new process indicates that an energy saving of 12.2% is obtained compared with the conventional process while total number of trays maintains at the same.
