Development of Estimation Model for Hysteresis of Friction Using Artificial Intelligent

This paper proposed the friction model using Preisach algorithm with neural network based on experimental results. In order to apply the neural network algorithm, the back propagation update rule was used and the updated weighting factor of neural network was applied to distribute function of Preisach model. In order to implement the proposed algorithm, the LabView software was used to apply to the precision control of mechanical system. The evaluation of the proposed friction model was executed through experiments.
A Quality Stability Estimation of Shock-absorber Tube for automatic drawer

The automatic drawer is used to absorb the movement shock and adjust its velocity when it opens and closes. The tube in shock-absorber is the cylindrical case which surrounds its parts and is made of acetal. The purpose of this study is to determine the quality stability of the tube in the shock-absorber in injection molding process. The tube which had been manufactured in the process with 4 cavity cooling unit was used. In this study, the analysis and test are carried out to determine its quality stability. Which are the quality analysis with numerical simulation and performance tests of the tube compared with one of foreign make. It is calculated that the injection press is 87.6 MPa and the deflections in X, Y, Z directions are ranged in 0.07~1.00 mm. When the researched tube is compared with the foreign made tube, the maximum bending compressive load is 231 kgf higher, average axial compressive load is 0.05 kgf higher, and the roughness(Ra) on the inner surface is
. lower. In the result, it is known that the quality of researched tube in injection mold process is stable and its performance is superior.
Effect on the Fuel Economy by Gradient in Automobile Driveway

A vehicle fuel economy is very important issue in the view of fuel cost and environmental regulation. The fuel economy is much improved according to the development of electric, electronic and mechanical technology, but up to now the measurement of it tests the given mode(LA-4, FTP-75, etc) within computer simulation program and engine dynamometer. This fuel economy is different with it of real road. The one of main reason is not considered the gradient of the road. To estimate the effects of fuel economy at highway with gradient in this paper, we measure the amount of fuel consumption and calculate the fuel economy of it with running the Youngdong highway with high gradient. Also this paper analysis and compares the fuel economy with gradient and without gradient when the vehicle runs the same driveway. Then we calculate the total energy created the difference of fuel consumption amount of the two cases and calculate the consumpted energy by tire driving force from the torque and power of engine in the simulation. This paper verifies the relation of the driving force and the total energy by creating the difference of fuel consumption amount. This paper also proposes the method of fuel economy improvement despite of gradient at the result.
Analytical Study on Effective Thermal Conductivity of Three-Phase Composites

Effective thermal conductivity of three-phase composites, consisting of matrix and two kinds of spherical inclusions, has been derived as an explicit form by extending modified Eshelby model (MEM) for two-phase composites. The present results are compared with those by differential effective medium model (DEMM), which are also compared with the experimental results of two- and three-phase composites in the literatures to be validated. For two-phase composites, the results by MEM are better than those by DEMM for the inclusion volume fraction smaller than 0.5. Comparisons between the results by two models and experimental results have been made for three-phase composite, resulting in that MEM predicts better than DEMM for smaller volume fraction of the inclusion having larger inclusion-to-matrix thermal conductivity ratio, but DEMM predicts better as its volume fraction increases. It has been observed through parametric study that its volume fraction is the critical factor affecting the deviation of predictions by the two models. The results by them show a good agreement with the three-phase composite proposed by Molina et al..
A Study on the Estimation of Homogeneous Physical Properties of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Stacks

The performance and efficiency of a Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell system will improve with the aids of numerical simulations such as finite element analysis. For best simulation results, the virtual model must accurately reflect the actual model including the material properties. It is very difficult, however, to make a detailed numerical model of the stack that consists of hundreds of layers of unit cells composed of various materials like metal, ceramics, polymer, etc. Instead, a practical approach is to find a homogenized material property of the stack as a whole as an approximate replacement. In this paper, the compression ratio of a unit cell is introduced, and a new method is proposed to estimate the homogeneous material properties for both the active and the manifold regions of the stack under the assumption that the compressive deformation occurs only at the separators and matrices in the unit cells. The estimated properties are applied successfully to simulating an actual stack.
Study on Vortex Apparatus for Efficiency Improvement of Combustion Chamber of Automobile

As the step to improve fuel efficiency, there is the system to build up the eddy of combustion chamber at the suction line in order to increase the combustion efficiency. The models installed with no vortex generation system or with various shapes of the system are examined by fluid analysis. Vortex generation system is installed prior to the suction of combustion chamber. The wing of this system winds itself around the suction air and generates the vortex. This study investigates the flow of suction air and the pressure distribution of suction stroke by using the eddy generation system.
A Study on the Relations between Self-Efficacy and Career-Deciding Factor for Beautician Students

This study is to know the relations between self-efficacy and a factor to decide their major for beautician students. with questionnaires from 180 beautician students in Seoul, we could see a significant result with p < .05 from self-confidence and self-control efficacy of self-efficacy according to major satisfaction, a high level of significant result with p < .01 from level of difficulty of assignment, a significant result with p < .05 from information collect of career-deciding factor, and a greatly high level with p < .001 from goal setting, career planning and self-rating. As to verify the correlation of sub variables between self-efficacy and career-deciding factor, I analyzed it. Then I found that every variables except problem solve in self-confidence of self-efficacy variables showed a significant result and every variables between sub-variables and others in career-deciding factor showed a significant outcome. In conclusion, it is considered that self-efficacy resulting from major satisfaction plays a critical role in students career decision-making and that students self-efficacy and career deciding factors are corelated, given the meaningful outcome from them.

A Hybrid Artificial Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm based Cost Estimation Approach for Feature-based Plastic Injection Products

Plastic injection products have been widely used in various electronic appliances and high-tech commodities. However, plastic injection product manufacturers have to spare no efforts to shorten new product development period to introduce new products into the market ahead of other competitors, gaining competitiveness and satisfying customers. The manufacturers cannot only get big target market share rapidly but also the advantage of leading the product price in order to survive in highly competitive market. This paper proposes the cost estimation approach of feature-based plastic injection products by using hybrid artificial neural network and genetic algorithm. The proposed method is to dramatically simplify and shorten the complex conventional cost estimation procedures and the requested computation parameters of plastic injection products. The case study demonstrates the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed model in solving the cost estimation problem of plastic injection products at the development stage.
The Relative Influence of Social and Psychological Factors on Life Satisfaction : Comparison of Entrepreneur and Paid employee

It is about the study of life satisfaction with type of employment(entrepreneur/paid employee), social factor(social capital), and psychological factor(self efficacy) in Seoul. The empirical results using Seoul Welfare Panel showed that psychological factor was the most powerful, and economic (household income levels) and social factor were in order. Type of employment was also significantly affected on life satisfaction, and paid employee's life satisfaction was higher than entrepreneur's one. In case of paid employee, psychological(self-efficacy) and social(norms, informal networks of participation, non-profit trust) factor in addition to the economic factor were significantly. In case of entrepreneur, economic and psychological factor and only norm among social factors were significant. Finally, The implications for politicians and local public officials were reported.
Efficiency Analysis of Schisandra Tea Using Image & Acoustic Signal Processing

We propose an efficiency analysis method to test whether Schisandra tea is beneficial to the health of internal organs, and, if so, to find which organ is mostly benefited. Firstly, for this, the color change in the right cheek region of face images before and after drinking Schisandra tea is analyzed using image processing techniques. Also, acoustic analysis experiments on both of the vocal cords vibration and the intensity value of acoustic signal are performed to investigate further Schisandra tea's effectiveness. The results of lung function smoothly by eating omijacha become. Vocal cords vibration and voice energy intensity of the right cheek region has changed a steady increase of the b values were observed.
The Effect on the Value of the Life Insurance company by Using Derivatives

The puporse of this research is to analyze the impacts of derivatives to firm value. The sample of this research consists of 20 domestic life insurance companies and the duration of the research is the year between 2002 and 2009. And multi-regression analysis by cross-sectional analysis approach is used for the entire sample in this study. The result of the research indicates the impact of derivatives use on the value of the firm, which was the original focus of this study, is insignificant. And firm value increases as the leverage, rate of return on a loan, the ratio of product for annuity and the ratio of expense decrease.

Setting the Hallabong Tangor's Quality Standards based on Consumer Preference Survey

The purpose of this study is to set the Hallabong tangor's quality standards based on consumer preference survey. Until now the Hallabong tangor's quality standards has been based on the fruit size. Hallabong tangor's quality in agricultural cooperative, citrus agricultural cooperative, and some agricultural corporation has been selected in accordance with its own brand of quality grade using a non-destruction sorting machine. But, setting the Hallabong tangor's quality standards has been based on the convenient and routine method rather than the scientific and objective method, consumer's preference. According to the grade contents, more than sugar
and less than acid 1.10% has been used uniformly. Thus, in this study, based on the consumers' preference of Hallabong tangor, 5-level grades of sugar and 7-level grades of acidity were divided into the total 35-level grades. Based on this, 5-level grades were set and were divided into selling product grades(1~3) and non-selling product grades(4~5).
Neo-Han Ryu Market Segmentation based on Psychographic profile among Chinese and Japanese visitors

Psychological involvement, belief, and attitude as important variables in explaining tourism behavior have been widely examined in the tourism context for its usefulness in differentiating markets. This study investigated foreign tourists' Neo-Han Ryu related trip behaviors based on their psychological involvement, belief, and attitude toward Neo-Han Ryu. A self-administered on-site survey was conducted in January 2010. Three distinctive clusters were identified from cluster analysis. These three segment show sharp contrast in terms of their psychological involvement, attitude and belief about Neo-Han Ryu and thus differ from each other with respect to their behaviors, including satisfaction, intention to revisit, recommendation, and trip expenditure. The results clearly indicate that the segment with a high Neo-Han Ryu involvement reported stronger intention to revisit and recommendation to others compared to the less involved segments. The findings provides important implications to the marketers regarding how to utilize Neo-Han Ryu to expand Korean inbound market and how to select target markets.

While there is ample information on the investment plans about Korea's selected new growth businesses, it is hard to find any analysis on the valuation of the projects. In this paper, I intend to do a valuation for the three particular technologies, which are solar cell, automotive battery, and bio-pharmaceutical, based on compound option model so that the valuation can capture not only the expected net cash flow but also the value originated from the flexibility of the decision maker. In addition, the real option pricing theory is reviewed and its practical limitations are thoroughly investigated.
Analysis of Inquisitive Tendencies in the Units 'Information Society and IT' in Middle School Informatics Textbooks

One of the characteristics of the informatics subject implementing the revised national curriculum is to develop the practical attitude of the student as an active member of information society. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the units 'Information Society and IT' in middle school informatics textbooks reflect inquisitive tendencies to student's practice. After four textbooks that were widely selected by schools were selected from among the authorized textbooks, the sentences of the selected textbooks were analyzed by utilizing Romey's analysis method to see whether there was such an inquisitive tendency in them. As a result of analyzing six content elements of the textbooks, one textbook and two textbooks had an inquisitive tendency in three elements or more in terms of texts and activities index respectively. But there was no inquisitive tendency in the textbooks in terms of figure/diagrams, questions at the end of chapters and chapter synthesis. This study is meaningful in that it attempted to make a quantitative analysis of middle school informatics textbooks and to investigate an inquisitive tendency in the textbooks by analyzing every statement and sentence instead of analyzing just some parts of the textbooks.
Relationship of Professional Identity, Emotional Labor and Depression in Beauty Business Workers

This study was conducted as descriptive research to examine the relations among beauty business workers' professional identity, emotional labor and depression, to analyze factors that influence their depression, and to provide basic information necessary to develop interventions for beauty business workers' depression. The subjects of this study were 158 beauty business workers sampled from 25 beauty shops in Seoul. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire during the period from April 12 to May 13, 2011. From the collected data were obtained real numbers, percentages, and the means and standard deviations of professional identity, emotional labor and depression using the SPSS 16.0 Program. In addition, multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the correlations among the variables and to identify factors influencing the beauty business workers' depression. In the results of multiple regression analysis on factors that influence the subjects' depression, factors found to explain their depression were autonomy among the sub factors of professional identity, and the diversity of emotional expressions and surface acting among the sub factors of emotional labor, and these factors explained 23.6% of their depression. The subjects' professional identity was in a positive correlation with the frequency of emotional expressions and deep acting among the sub factors of emotional labor, and in a negative correlation with surface acting and depression. The Frequency of emotional expression and the diversity of emotional expressions which the sub factors of emotional labor were in a negative correlation with depression and in a positive correlation with surface acting and depression. In order to relieve beauty business workers from their depression based on these results, there should be education or programs for establishing beauty business workers' professional identity and program for increasing of emotional expressions and decreasing of surface acting.

The aim of this article is to build up the model related to our industry, including the tourist industry. And all kinds of the inducement coefficients of the tourist industry were compared and analyzed among industries. In an analysis of economic effects on the tourist industry, the analysis related to industries is a useful method. Accordingly, the analysis related to industries was used in order to measure the relations of influence between the tourist industry and other ones.

This study, continuing education programs and elderly welfare center in order to verify the source of satisfaction perceived elderly welfare center services for the elderly aged 60 or over to use the various welfare services for elderly, distribute the questionnaire with the permission of the welfare centers, utilizing a material portion 175. This study used PASW 18.0 program on the collected data and for data analysis, detailed statistical analysis methods used were t-test and One-way ANOVA. Gender were observed in higher overall satisfaction of a man, granted a high degree of satisfaction lower age, education elementary school, at least university graduates, found that satisfaction is high. In health, become clear that the more satisfied the more you health, spending money a month it became clear that the more satisfied the elderly to be used about 300,000 won to 500,000 won use period found that the elderly were more satisfied if less than one year and more than three years. In the region, Gangseo-gu is found to be slightly higher overall satisfaction with services than the Eunpyong-gu.
The Effect of R&D Investment on Firm Value : An Examination of KOSDAQ Listed Firms

This study examines the relationship between R&D(research & development) investment and market value among KOSDAQ firms in the Korea Stock Exchange. We investigate the effect of R&D investment on firm value in both total sample and sub-samples classified by firm characteristics based on types of firms. And we study the impact of a major economic disruption as the global financial crisis triggered by sub-prime mortgage problem in the US on R&D investment relative to the firm value. We find that R&D investment positively affects firm value and the squared term of R&D investment is found to be significant and negatively correlated with market value. This suggests the presence of nonlinear relationship like a reverse U-shape between R&D investment and market value in total sample and most of sub-samples. And we find firm characteristics and global financial crisis partially affect the contribution of R&D investment to market value in some of sub-samples.
The Effectiveness of Ownership Structure on the Financial Performance of Construction and Manufacture Industries

This study proposed to compare the performance differences between a manufacturing company and a construction company in accordance with the mutual relations and ownership structures with the management performance based on the increase or decrease of the large shareholders' share-holding ratio (insider ownership, foreign share-holding, institutional investors' share-holding) of a KOSPI listed company in Korea during 10 years(1998-2007). To sum up the research work, first, the increase of foreign share-holding supported the results of previous studies which foreign share-holding has a positive effect on the long term performance by having a positive(+) effect on MTB, and the increase of an insider ownership supported the management entrenchment hypothesis of previous studies by having a negative(-) effect on MTB. However, relations between institutional investors's share-holding and MTB could not find out linkages in spite of the results of previous studies where dealt with the active monitoring hypothesis. Also, to examine the linkages of ROA and the ownership structure, though the increases of foreign share-holding and insider ownership had a positive(+) effect on ROA, the increases of institutional investors' share-holding had a negative(-) effect on it. It showed different analysis results from the active monitoring hypothesis of institutional investors. As a result of verifying whether there is "any difference in the management performances between the construction industry and the manufacturing industry according to the equity structure" which is the second hypothesis, nothing of the insider ownership and whether or not there is the construction industry, foreign share-holding and whether or not there is the construction, and the institutional ownership and whether or not there is the construction industry gave a statistical difference to MTB and ROA. Accordingly, it was possible to find out there is no difference in the management performance between the construction industry and the manufacturing industry based on the ownership structure in spite of different characteristics from the manufacturing industry such as the revenue recognition in ordering, production and accounting.
The Association of Blood Pressures and Blood Biochemical Properties with BMI in Health Checkup Examinees

The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of blood pressures, hematological and blood biochemical properties according to the degree of obesity based on differential combinations of BMI in health checkup examinees. Study subjects were 3,731 adults of 20 years and over (2,312 males, 1,419 females), not recognized as taking medicines for or having cardiovascular diseases, who underwent health package check-up at the Korea Association of Health Promotion, Daejeon Branch from Jan. 2007 to Dec. 2009. As a results, the mean values of SBP, DBP, TG, TC, LDL-C, ALT, AST, GGT, ALP were significantly increased with higher level of BMI, but the HDL-C was significantly decreased with higher level of BMI. On correlation of BMI with various factors, the BMI was positively correlated with SBP, DBP, TG, TC, LDL-C and GGT, while the HDL-C was negatively correlated. Based on the result of ordinal logistic regression analysis, the risk ratio to the abnormal level of SBP, DBP, TG, ALT and GGT were significantly increased as BMI increased.
Influence of Korean Traditional Dance Exercise upon Mental Health and Life Satisfaction in Elderly Women

The purpose of this study was to confirm the influence of Korean traditional dance exercise upon mental health and life satisfaction in elderly women. Data collection was performed from June 2010 to September targeting totally 180 elderly women with 90 people who were carried out Korean traditional dance exercise, and 90 people who weren't carried out. As a result of the effect of Korean traditional dance exercise on mental health, the Korean traditional dance exercise had positive influence upon mental health and life satisfaction. There was statistical difference somatization, obsession, and depression between Korean traditional dance exercise group and no Korean traditional dance exercise group.
The Effects of Regular Pilates Exercise on Blood pressure and Pulmonary Variables

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Pilates exercises on the improvement of blood pressure and respiratory function. 36 subjects which were randomly divided into Pilates exercises group(n=18) and control group(n=18). Subjects in the Pilates exercises group were regularly participated in Pilates exercise program for 8 weeks. We were measured the blood pressure and respiratory function such as blood pressure, VO2max, METs, and Anaerobic threshold at before and after the experiment. After 8 weeks, in Pilate exercises group, there were significant improvement on blood pressure and respiratory function except the diastolic blood pressure. And subjects participated in Pilates exercise group were significantly improved compared to control group on systolic blood pressure, VO2max, METs, and Anaerobic threshold. But in control group, there were no significant differences. In conclusion, regular participation in Pilates exercises improved the blood pressure and respiratory function. These results suggest that Pilates exercise is the method that replace aerobic exercise.
Role of Rab11 on Membrane Trafficking of Rat Vanilloid Receptor, TRPV1

Vanilloid receptor, TRPV1 (transient receptor potential vanilloid 1) is a non-selective cation channel that responds to a variety of pain-eliciting material including capsaicin, pH, heat. Although, membrane trafficking of TRPV1 was not much known so far, TRPV1 was reported to interact with FIP3 (family of Rab11 interacting protein 3). FIP3 was identified as one of Rab11 interacting proteins that is recently reported important in membrane trafficking of several channel proteins directly or indirectly. Therefore, in this study, we examined the role of Rab11 in the membrane trafficking of TRPV1 using cell biological and biochemical techniques. Rab11 was found really colocalized with TRPV1 based on the result of confocal microscopy. However, GST-pulldown assay, one of biochemical technique, found that Rab11 did not interact with TRPV1. Although Rab11 does not interact with TRPV1 directly, we hypothesized that Rab11 is indeed involved in the membrane trafficking of TRPV1. In order to examine further the role of Rab11 in the membrane trafficking of TRPV1, the expression of TRPV1 on the membrane was examined when the expression of Rab11 was decreased down to about 50% by siRNA technique and found decreased significantly. From this result, we can conclude that Rab11 is involved in the membrane trafficking of TRPV1 in a way of including FIP3.
Characteristics of Wine Fermented with Fruit of Flowering Cherry and Honey

This work was aimed to evaluate supplementation of honey as sole carbon source on the fermentation characteristics of wine fermented with fruit of flowering cherry and honey(flowering cherry-honey wine). Physiochemical changes of flowering cherry-honey wine(2 L) were investigated during 30 days in fermentation by strain of Saccharomyces bayanus (EC-118). At the beginning of fermentation, fructose was most abundant sugar then glucose and sucrose were followed. As fermentation proceeded, utilization of glucose by S. bayanus (EC-118) was faster than fructose, so that the ratio of fructose/glucose was increased. During fermentation for 30 days, pH and viable yeast count was changed rapidly between 0 to 5 days, while
(%) decreased gradually for 30 days. Final total titratable acidity, pH,
(%) and ethanol content of flowering cherry-honey wine were 0.43%, pH 3.5,
(%) and 14%, respectively. Our finding demonstrate that flowering cherry-honey could be benefical supplements for wine production.
Effects of Vibration Stimulation Method on Upper Limbs Spasticity in Patients with Brain Lesion

We studied the effects of vibration stimulation method on upper limbs spasticity in patients with brain lesion. 21 patients with spasticity of the upper limbs selected and divided randomly 3 groups. And then vibratory stimulation was applied to the triceps brachii muscle in group I(n=7), to biceps brachii muscle in group II (n=7), and to both muscles in group III (n=7). Using Neuro-EMG_Micro to investigate the changes in spinal neuronal excitability, F-waves were measured at before and directly after stimulation, and 10 minutes later and 20 minutes later after stimulation especially. MAS(Modified Ashworth Scale) test for muscle tone and MFT(Manual Function Test) for the upper extremity motor function were performed before stimulation and 20 minutes later after stimulation for the purpose of clinical evaluation. In our study, MAS was significant decreased in all groups, F wave and F/M ratio parameters were decreased in all groups and more decreased specially in group III. MFT was increased in group II and III, and more increased specially in group III. Vibration stimulation reduced the neuronal excitability of spinal cord and also muscle tone, and improved the motor function of the upper extremity. These results suggested that vibration stimulation giving to both muscles(triceps and biceps brachii muscle) at the same time was more efficiency in reducing the neuronal excitability of spinal cord and improving the motor function of the upper limbs.
A Study on Added Filters for Reduction of Radiation Exposure Dose in Skull A-P Projection

Skull A-P projections are the bi-product where the ESD (Entrance Surface Dose) for digital radiography is much higher than that conventional screen-film radiography. Therefore, the aim of this study was to reduce radiation doses to patients by using an added filter. This research focuses on the identification of the reduction of exposure to radiation based on the thickness of an added filter when applying the 'Skull A-P Projection' by using the 'Skull Phantom'. Also, an experiment was conducted to evaluate the qualitative decline of images through filtration. The measurement of one's exposed dose to radiation was executed by locating the 'Skull Phantom' on the position of the 'Skull AP,' while changing 16 kinds of added filters from 0.1 mmAl to 0.5 mmCu + 2.0 mmAl in terms of incident and penetrating doses. For the qualitative evaluation of images, a total number of 17 images have been acquired in the 'Skull Phantom' under the same conditions as those for the measurement of one's exposed dose. The acquired images have been evaluated by a radiological specialist. As a result, the images with a diagnostic value have been obtained by using such added filters as the compound filter of 0.2 mmCu +1.0 mmAl. The exposed dose absorbed on the 'Skull Phantom' is about 0.6 mGy. The value is only 12% of 5 mGy, the ESD value acquired on the 'Skull P-A Projection', which is recommended by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). As a result, depending on the parts of inspection, it is possible to reduce the patient's exposed dosage of radiation considerably by using an appropriate added filter.
Effect of Combisteamer Oven Cooking Condition on Quality Characteristics of Pork Cutlets

Deep-frying pork cutlets contains high fat and calories and can cause obesity, even though it has a high preference among young consumers in Korea. In this study, we have investigated the use of oven cooking method and is studying quality characteristics of pork cutlets for the contribute to improving national health. For the replace the deep-frying method, the pork cutlet was using canola oil added brown crumbs and optimization the oven cooking time, temperature, relative humidity, fan speed. The fat content and calories of oven pork cutlet reduced by 55.4% and 28.6% respectively(P<0.05), when compared to frying method. In a color experiment, texture characteristics and separation ration of batter, oven pork cutlet has no difference(P>0.05), in a sensory characteristics, overall taste has no different (P>0.05) with frying pork cutlet. Therefore, if pork cutlet cooking by oven with optimized condition, without impoverishment of consumer's preference because of the taste similarity with frying pork cutlet and these results may be helpful to people who need dietary treatment.
Relationship Between Fatty Liver and Coronary Risk Factors among Health Examined Adult Women in an University Hospital

The present study was to elucidate such a relationship by comparing the coronary risk factors with and without fatty liver adjusted for age and/or BMI. Study subjects were 665 women of 30 years and over, who underwent health package check-up at the health promotion center of an university hospital from July, 2009 to June, 2010. As a results, the prevalence rates of fatty liver of study subjects were 11.6%, and the rates were significantly higher in older age group, in the group of higher level of BMI. The group of subjects with fatty liver had significantly lower mean HDL-cholesterol and higher levels of body fat rate, TG, TC, LDL-cholesterol, FBS and ALT, then those parameters in subjects without fatty liver, even after adjustment for age and/or BMI. In age and BMI adjusted logistic regressions, The odds ratio of fatty liver was increased significantly as there is an increase in the abnormal group with TG, TC, LDL-C and ALT.
Mortality and Potential Years of Life Lost of lung cancer between Korea and OECD countries before and after the year 2000

This present study is designed to analyze the mortality and potential years of life lost (PYLL) by malignant neoplasm of lung between OECD countries and Korea before and after the year 2000. We used the methods of Wilcoxon Singed Ranks Test between korean and other 30 OECD countries between 1993-1999 and 2000-2006 year using 2009 OECD Health data(2010) of 30 contries. At the results, the mortality of lung cancer in male korean was significantly increased after 2000 year whereas those in other 23 countries decreased. The mortalities in female were increased in 20 countries including Korea. PYLL in male and female korean were significantly decreased and male PYLL in other 26 countries was decreased, but female PYLL in other countries showed various patterns; increase in 12 countries and decrease in 3 countries. Therefore, the present study elucidated that the lung cancer-induced PYLL in the comparison between korean and OECD countries can be more important parameter.

The purpose of this study was to know the characteristics of DDK performance between CV(e.g. 'pa') and VV(e.g., 'ai') syllables in typically developing children aged 4 to 6 years old. 12 TD children performed DDK with CV structure(/pʰə/, /tʰə/, /kʰə/, /pʰətʰə/, /tʰəkʰə?/, /pʰətʰəkʰə/) and with VV structure(/ai/, /ɔi/, /ɑɔi/). Spoken syllables were counted in one second, and all spoken DDK were measured by PC-quirer. The results showed that all spoken DDK became faster as the age of children were increased. This trend was also appeared in both CV and VV syllables repetition. In addition, there was no differences in DDK rate with CV and VV syllables. The frequency of articulatory error during DDK performance was very high in the age of 3, and there was no pattern in the frequency of articulatory error according to the developmental age.

This study is to investigate the effect of the limitation factor in women's marine sports on negotiation strategy and participation decision. we selected out 278 in total by cluster random sampling that are women in their twenties living in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas in 2009. 2009 years 1 July to 30 July were surveyed. There are the following results performed by a frequency analysis, a factor analysis, a reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Windows 15.0 Version. First, the limitation factor in women's marine sports partially influences on negotiation strategy. Second, the participation limitation factor in women's marine sports partially influences on participation decision. Third, the participation negotiation strategy in women's marine sports partially influences participation decision.

An Application of Artificial Dielectric Substrate for Design of Size-reduced Directional Couplers

This paper describes the design of size-reduced directional coupler using the artificial dielectric substrate and its increased effective permittivity. Directional couplers are widely used in measuring RF power indirectly and coupling signal power. Artificial dielectric substrates have higher effective dielectric constant than standard dielectric substrate due to the lots of metalized via-holes, and the increased effective permittivity results in size-reduction of circuits. As a design example, 15dB directional couplers are designed on the standard substrate and artificial dielectric substrate and their size are compared. The size of the directional coupler using the artificial dielectric substrate is only 1/3 of that designed using the standard substrate, while the performances are preserved. In addition, the measured performances of the size-reduced coupler are well agreed with the simulated ones. The measured coupling coefficient, matching, and insertion loss at 2GHz are -14.62dB, -24.1dB, and -0.38dB, respectively.
Transmission Rate Priority-based Traffic Control for Contents Streaming in Wireless Sensor Networks

Traffic and congestion control in the wireless sensor network is an important parameter that decides the throughput and QoS (Quality of Service). This paper proposes a transmission rate priority-based traffic control scheme to serve digital contents streaming in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, priority for transmission rate decides on the real-time traffic and non-real-time with burst time and length. This transmission rate-based priority creates low latency and high reliability so that traffic can be efficiently controlled when needed. Traffic control in this paper performs the service differentiation via traffic detection process, traffic notification process and traffic adjustment. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves improved performance in delay rate, packet loss rate and throughput compared with those of other existing CCF and WCA.
Detection of Special Effects with Circular Moving Borders

In this paper, we propose a method to detect Iris Round wipe transitions with circular moving borders in digital video data. The suggested method robustly extracts circular moving borders from the input image using improved Hough transform, and finally detects Iris Round wipes by effectively analyzing their moving directions and shapes. In order to evaluate the performance of the suggested algorithm, the experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively detect Iris Rounds with circular moving borders in various video data.

The objective of this study is to provide the guide for producing data for effective analysis of weapons systems and munitions. Therefore, the prototype from the study of creating the effectiveness data of surface to surface Artillery system under different battle environments was developed in this paper. For this purpose, mathmatical method which is in use of calculating Lethal Area and EFC(Expected Fractional Casualty) is analyzed and applied to the prototype for generating effectiveness data of surface to surface Artillery system. To validate the suggested prototype, we did the following actions: we select the source data corresponding to JMEM(Joint Munition Effectiveness Manuals) data and apply our prototype to the source data, and then match the results to check validity.
Production of Low-illuminated Image Sets based on Spectral Data for Color Constancy Research

Most methods of color constancy, which is the ability to determine the object color regardless of the scene illuminant, have failed to meet our expectation of their performance especially about low-illuminated scenes. Some methods with high performance need to be developed, but we must, above all else, obtain experimental images for analyzing the required circumstances or evaluating the methods. Therefore, the paper produces new sets of images so that they can be used in the development of color constancy methods suitable for low-illuminated scenes. These sets are composed of two parts: one part of images which are synthesized with spectral power distribution(SPD) of illuminants, spectral reflectance curve of reflectances, and sensor response functions of camera; the other part of images where the intensity of each image is adjusted at the uniform rate. In an experiment, the use of the sets takes an advantage that its result images are analyzed and evaluated quantitatively as their ground truth data are known in advance.

In order to monitor internal risk factors such as fire, terror, etc. on the subway station, the surveillance systems using CCTV and various kinds of sensors have been implemented and recently, introduction of surveillance systems using an advanced IT technology, sensor network technology is tried on several areas. Since 2007, Korean government has made an effort to develop the intelligent surveillance and monitoring system, which can monitor fire, intrusion, passenger congestion, health-state of structure, etc., by using wireless sensor network technology and intelligent video analytic technique. For that purpose, this study carried out field wireless communication environment test on Chungmuro Station of Seoul Metro on the basis of ZigBee that is considered as a representative wireless sensor network before field application of the intelligent integrated surveillance system being developed, arranged and analyzed and ZigBee based wireless communication environment test results on the platform and waiting room of Chungmuro Station on this paper. Results of wireless spectrum analysis on the platform and waiting room showed that there is no radio frequency overlapped with that of ZigBee based sensor network and no frequency interference with adjacent frequencies separated 10MHz or more. As results of wireless data transmission test using ZigBee showed that data transmission is influenced by multi-path fading effect from the number and flow rate of passengers on the platform or the waiting room rather than effects from entrance and exit of the train to/from the platform, it should be considered when implementing the intelligent integrated surveillance system on the station.
Design, Implementation, and Performance Evaluation of an Embedded RDBMS Miracle

In this paper, a relational embedded DBMS was designed and a prototype 'Miracle' RDBMS (MDB) was developed. MDB is written in C and works on Unix, Linux and Windows platforms locally. It accesses database through SQL interfaces and API functions and uses
tree index. It guarantees ACID in transactions and supports low concurrency control and processes SQL statements on a single table. To evaluate the performance of MDB on an ARM board EZ-S3C6410 and to compare the performance of MDB with that of SQLite, an experiment was carried out to estimate processing times for insertion, selection, update and deletion operations. The result shows that the average times for selections and insertions in MDB were 38.46% and 22.86% faster than those in SQLite, respectively, but the average times for updates and deletions in SQLite were 28.33% and 26.00% faster than MDB, respectively, This experiment shows that fetching data from database and sending data to database in MDB is faster than in SQLite, but
tree index is implemented more effectively in SQlite than in MDB.
Design of Worker's Safety Management System by Monitoring Work Location and Sensing Danger Zones

Negligent accidents are often caused by risk factors of working environment at most construction sites and construction schedules are delayed as the workers' work location and construction progress are not figured out accurately, and this leads to a lot of loss. In this paper, with the object of solving the problems at construction sites, RFID portable device, active tag and wireless RFID reader to provide the status of workers which is based on location are designed in order to send information about the location of workers and work progress in real time to a personal RFID device. Also an application system to monitor workers' approaching to prevent accidents from vehicles and danger zones and to manage the real time location of workers is designed.

This study introduces a threat level assessment model adapting Fuzzy theories in order to help make decisions for better covering quantitative factors and qualitative ones together. The threat is classified into three major categories - one resulting from navigational condition, another from target vessel specification and the other from external decision environment. The threat levels by each category are examined by a fuzzy inference, and its corresponding weights are assigned via fuzzy measures. Finally the high level threat measures become integrated via a Choquet Fuzzy Integral method into ultimate threat level indicators.

This paper presents a new Boolean extraction technique for logic synthesis. This method extracts kernel-kernel pairs as well as cokernel-kernel pairs. The given logic expressions can be translated into Boolean divisors and quotients with kernel-kernel pairs. Next, kernel intersection method provides the common sub-expressions for several logic expressions. Experimental results show the improvement in literal count over previous other extraction methods.
The Effect of Resources and Family Saliency on Business Performance of Women Entrepreneurs in IT Business

This paper empirically explores how resources and family saliency of women entrepreneurs in IT business influence their business performance. Building up on prior research and Shelton, we develop hypothesis on how the strategies of resolving wok family conflict relate to determinants of performance and business performance. The central hypothesis states that role sharing would be the strategy raising up the business performance. We also posit that the role sharing strategy would be adopted by women who show high saliency in both family and work. and women who have high levels of resources. Results suggest that financial resources have significant impact on role sharing strategy and the sales. The hypothesis of positive role sharing effect on the performance is not supported, indicating that combining family role might be an obstacle to business performance of women.

Recently, speech recognition technology has dramatically developed, with the increase in the user environment of various mobile devices and influence of a variety of speech recognition software. However, for speech recognition for multi-language, lack of understanding of multi-language lexical model and limited capacity of systems interfere with the improvement of the recognition rate. It is not easy to embody speech expressed with multi-language into a single acoustic model and systems using several acoustic models lower speech recognition rate. In this regard, it is necessary to research and develop a multi-language speech recognition system in order to embody speech comprised of various languages into a single acoustic model. This paper studied a system that can recognize Korean and English as International Phonetic Language (IPA), based on the research for using a multi-language acoustic model in mobile devices. Focusing on finding an IPA model which satisfies both Korean and English phonemes, we get 94.8% of the voice recognition rate in Korean and 95.36% in English.

The matter of the calculation of the mutual access fee has become one of the hottest issues among service providers and attracted concerns from concerned regulatory authorities. It is essential to conclude a rational and systematic procedure for interconnection costs and charge between fixed and mobile networks. In this paper, I proposed the conversion factor scheme between circuit switched voice and packet switched data service in the domestic CDMA mobile system based on analysis of the rational GSM allocation method of common cost.
Finite Element Analysis for Bending Behavior of Composite Beam with Perfobond FRP Used as a Permanent Formwork

In recent years, many efforts have steadily been allocated to develop a new deck system in terms of its materials and structures in order to make up for the shortcomings of reinforced concrete deck. This study implemented and analyzed the verification for concrete composite beam with perfobond FRP as a permanent formwork and the tensile reinforcement, using non-linear finite element analysis program. Approximately 8-15% difference of ultimate failure load between numerical and experimental results were found and showed a similar figure of strain distribution in failure state.

Currently in construction Soil-cement Injected Precast pile of buried pile method are in wide use. But deterioration in pile quality and faulty construction can be often found these days because of problems arise in the construction field. For this study, survey was carried out by targeting construction engineers working in the field in order to identify the types and the causes of problems arise based on SIP(Soil-cement Injected Precast) method. By analyzing the causes of problems arise, countermeasures could be presented. The data and the analysis presented in the study could be effectively used for minimizing problems arise in future during SIP method construction.

The Porous pavement gains popularity because of several benefits. It is to minimize hydro-planning condition, spraying condition, and splash to increase friction resistance, and decrease noise. Also, other studies showed that it is important to have appropriate porosity to reduce noise and water flush. The purpose of this study is an evaluation on the mechanical properties of asphalt pavements for surface course. In this study the specimen was manufactured using the Gyratory compactor in order to compact the strengthened surface course that involved the two-layer pavement. This study is conducted by using Marshall stability test(KS F 2377), Impact resonance test, Schmidt hammer test(KS F 2730), and the Uniaxial compression test(KS F 2314). Using the Uniaxial compression test and Schmidt hammer test, the values of compressive strength and bearing capacity were measured, and the modulus of elasticity for each specimen was respectively measured using the Uniaxial compression test, Impact Resonance test.

This study showed the reduced greenhouse gas(GHG) emission through GHG inventory establishment and process diagnosis for a response to climatic change. Also, it presented a direction for company's response to climatic change. Ulsan from its industrial complex has many energy-intensive companies such as petrochemistry, automobile and shipbuilding, and as we judged that the systematic reduction of GHG emission would make a considerable reduction of GHG emission in national dimension we executed this study from 10 companies. It showed the high rate of direction GHG emissions by its process that 5 of 10 companies calculated GHG emission and built its inventory. Also, in order to reduce energy and GHG, it produced about 227,554 million won of its economic effect and 50,740 ton/yr of its sparing effect.
The Mechanism of Hematoxylin on Glucose Metabolism Improvement in Sciatic Nerves from Streptozotocin-induced Diabetic Rats

Hematoxylin is the main component of Hematoxylon campechianum which has been utilized in the southern provinces of Korea as a folk remedy for diabetic complications. In the present study, to investigate the hypoglycemic mechanism of hematoxylin, the 2-deoxyglucose uptake and phospholipid metabolism were examined in sciatic nerves from three groups of rats : normal control, diabetic control, diabetic hematoxylin-treated group. Hematoxylin significantly reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic control rats. On a wet weight basis, the nerves from diabetic rats showed a 20% decrease in total phospholipid from that of controls and a relative decrease in phosphatidylinositide. Hematoxylin treatment increased the incorporation rate of 2-[3H] myo-inositol into total phosphoinositids in diabetic rat. The effectiveness were more potent in higher dose hematoxylin-treated rats than lower dose hematoxylin-treated rats. These results suggest that hematoxylin increases glucose transport and lipid metabolism by partially normalizing concerned with myo-inositol metabolism in diabetic rat. Therefore we propose that hematoxylin can be a promising candidate for diabetes medication.
A Study on Physicochemical Properties of Achyranthes japonica and Smilax china Extracts

Physicochemical properties of Achyranthes japonica and Smilax china extracts were investigated for the purpose of functionality research on the natural bio-resources. Extraction contents were order of distilled water>methanol>ethanol solvent, the highest free aminoacids were proline from Achyranthes japonica, phosphoserine and glutamic acid from Smilax china, respectively. BI and TAC by spectrophotometric absorbance were order of methanol>ethanol>water in Smilax china leaf extract, but water>methaol>ethanol in Achyranthes japonica leaf extract. EDA was high in ethanol extract from Smilax china leaf and in methanol extract from Smilax china root, and in water extract from Achyranthes japonica. TBA value of Achyranthes japonica leaf and Smilax china leaf-ethanol extracts on olive oil was 82.1% and 84.0%, respectively, for that of an artificial antioxidant BHT. Antimicrobial effect was observed in Achyranthes japonica stem-methanol extract on Bacillus subtillis, in Smilax china leaf-ethanol extract on Bacillus subtillis, Vibrio vulnificus and Salmonella enterica, respectively. And the adsorption of Pb(II) on Achyranthes japonica was higher than that of Cd(II) on Smilax china under the same metal ion concentration.

The interest on the recovery of thermal energy using the industrial waste has been rising to solve the problems of continuous increase of waste generation and the depletion of the fossil fuel recently. To recovery from the waste among the new recyclable energies has been proved as the most favorable when the potential value of energy source is compared. The RDF made from the industrial waste has been approved as the most economical method. This research has analyzed the heavy metal components containing in the industrial waste. The concentration of Cl and S in the industrial waste generated in C-industrial complex are slightly high than that of the B- and A-industrial complex. The main components generated from A-industrial complex, B-industrial complex, and C-industrial complex are alumina-silicates, calcium alumina silicates, and the mixture of lime and calcium alumina silicate. These results could be used to reveal the origin of inorganic components in industrial waste and utilized as a basic data to improve the performance of the RDF as fuel.
A Simulation Study on the Carbon Dioxide Removal Process Using Aqueous Amine Solution in the GTL Process

In this study, a computer simulation work has been performed for the carbon dioxide removal process using aqueous amine solution in the GTL (Gas To Liquids) process. 30wt% DEA(diethnaol amine) aqueous solution was utilized as a carbon dioxide remvoal agent and an absorber-stripper two-columns configuration was used. Kent-Eisenburg modeling equation built-in amine specicial package was used for the modeling of the carbon dioxide removal process. PRO/II with PROVISION 9.0, a commercial process simulator was used. Through this simulation study, heat and material balance was obtained and packing column diameter and column height were also estimated.
Characteristics of wastewater treatment of sewage mixed with industrial wastewater

In this study, characteristics of wastewater treatment of sewage intermittently mixed with industrial wastewater is examined by investigating the operational status of each unit operation and measuring water quality. The bioreactor operating condition was measured for MLSS concentration 2,000~3,000 mg/L, HRT 5.3~16.3 hour, SRT 2.8~66.6 day, and SVI frequently showed the value above 200 which was higher than the optimal range of 50~150. It is thought that the sludge is not in suitable condition for sedimentation caused by the incoming industrial wastewater. When industrial wastewater is come into the system, MLDO inside of bioreactor rapidly increased, rate of nitrification is steeply decreased, and Pin floc. is spilled in the secondary clarifier. In the observance of microorganism showed that various bacterial floc. and ciliata were found as well as actinomycetes and filamentous bacteria(Sphaeotilus) which is known to cause bulking. Efficiency of each unit operation was fairly good in average. However, efficiency of the bioreactor treatment showed high fluctuation by unstable operating condition by intermittently incoming industrial wastewater.
