A Study on the Heating and Cooling Energy Load Analysis of the KNU Plant Factory

The heating and cooling energy load of the KNU plant factory was analyzed using the DesignBuilder. Indoor temperature set-point, LED supplemental lighting schedule, LED heat gain, and type of double skin window were selected as simulation parameters. For the cases without LED supplemental lighting, the proper growth temperature of lettuce

. The annual heating and cooling loads which are required to maintain a constant indoor temperature were calculated for all the given temperatures. The cooling load was highest for

. For the cases with LED supplemental lighting, the heating load was decreased and the cooling load was 6 times higher than the case without LED. In addition, night time lighting schedule gave better result as compared to day time lighting schedule. To investigate the effect of window type on annual energy load, 5 different double skin window types were selected. As the U-value of double skin window decreases, the heating load decreases and the cooling load increases. To optimize the total energy consumption in the plant factory, it is required to set a proper indoor temperature for the selected plantation crop, to select a suitable window type depending on LED heat gain, and to apply passive and active energy saving technology.
Prediction on Performance of Cascade Refrigeration System using Alternative Freon and Natural Refrigerants

In this paper, cycle performance analysis of cascade refrigeration system using alternative FREON refrigerants and natural refrigerants are presented to offer the basic design data for the operating parameters of the system. The operating parameters considered in this study include subcooled and superheated degree, and condensing and evaporating temperature, temperature difference of cascade heat exchanger in cascade refrigeration system. The COP of cascade refrigeration system increases with the increasing subcooled degree, but there is no significant changes with the increasing superheated degree. The COP of cascade refrigeration system depends on evaporating and condensing temperatures of cascade heat exchanger. Therefore, subcooled degree, evaporating and condensing temperature of cascade heat exchanger using alternative FREON refrigerants and natural refrigerants have an effect on the COP of this system. In this paper, COP of cascade refrigeration system using (R23 / R290), (R23 / R600), (R23 / R600a), (R23 / R717), (R744 / R404A) are higher 20 ~ 36 % than (R23 / R22), using R23 for low temperature system and R22 for high temperature system.
Application of Sensitivity Analysis to Vehicle Handling with Equivalent Cornering Stiffness

Vehicle is a dynamic system combined with various parameters. Dynamic characteristics of a vehicle can vary with the change of these parameters. To investigate the effect of the design parameter on vehicle handling performance the sensitivity analysis is carried out by the numerical method. The vehicle model is described by equivalent cornering stiffness that considers parameters of suspension and steering system. As the analysis results show the effect on the static and dynamic characteristics of the vehicle system, the sensitivity analysis can be used for synthesis of the design parameters to improve the vehicle handling characteristics at the design stage as well as during the vehicle test under development.

Structural Analysis of Hydraulic Valve Meter

Existing hydraulic valve meter used in industrial fields precise pressure measurement gives inconvenience in precise measurement due to manually regulated pressures. In order to improve this inconvenience, the hydraulic valve meter was designed by using automatic design program CATIA and structural analysis of the designed hydraulic valve meter was conducted and internal water leaking, stress, strain and total deformation were obtained by applying three dimensional finite element code ANSYS. These results will be provided to develop new concepts of hydraulic valve meters as fundamental data.
Bond Graph Modeling, Analysis and Control of Dual Stage System

The dual stage manipulator is composed of the voice coil motor (VCM) and piezoelectric ceramics transducer (PZT), which can produce the high precise displacement and express a well dynamic performance. However, inaccurate modeling of the dual stage will exacerbate the positioning accuracy. This paper presents an approach to model the dual stage system by using bond graph theory. And the state space equations can be derived through the bond graph straightforwardly, which can be used in computing simulations. Through designing the compensators for the dual stage system and simulating, the dual stage performs better dynamics characteristic than the single actuator system.

The semi-automatic gas metal arc welding equipment was developed and the weldability of zinc coated steel pipes was evaluated in terms of strength, porosity and welding parameters including shielding gas composition. The good bead appearance and the reduction of porosity in the welds could be possibly obtained by adding
to Ar. The strength and joint efficiency of welds made by the semi-automatic welding equipment was about 1.8 times higher compared with welds manually made. The integrity of welds was confirmed by the water pressure test as well, Finally, it is expected that the weld productivity will be enhanced even unskilled welders can produce quality welds by operating the semi-automatic welding equipment.
Heat Transfer Characteristics in the Evaporator of a Soft Ice Cream Maker

Soft icecream is made by scraping an ice formed on the inside of the cylindrical evaporator, where R-404A is evaporating in the annulus. The heat transfer characteristics of the refrigerant evaporation and those during icecream formation were experimentally investigated. Results show that the refrigerant-side heat transfer coefficients are highly dependent on the location in the evaporator due to the complex annulus configuration. The heat transfer coefficient at the inlet is generally lower than those of other locations. The average heat transfer coefficient increases as heat flux increases or saturation temperature decreases. A correlation is developed to predict the refrigerant-side heat transfer coefficient. The icecream-side heat transfer coefficient oscillates continuously due to the periodic removal of ice formed on the surface. The average heat transfer coefficient during icecream formation is approximately 280 W/

Rotational smart lighting control system provides artificial light to plants on planting board by rotational lighting system. As the lighting system of existing plant factory has high cost problem due to the installation for many lighting equipments, the lighting system was developed to rotate less number of lighting equipments to reduce cost. In this paper, the illuminance, luminous flux and photosynthetic photon flux density(PPFD) that plants need to grow were calculated. And the light intensity at each measured location considering the rotational speed of blade were analyzed by the simulation and the experiment.
Failure Load Prediction of Tunnel Support using DOE and Optimization Algorithm

Recently, the safety of the coal-mining tunnels has been improved greatly, but accidents occur continually. Most tunnel support failures occur because the fish plate part that connects the I-beams is unable to withstand ground pressure. In the case of XX coal mine, the arch part of tunnel support bends to the upper direction. In such a case, excessive horizontal load as well as vertical load acts on the tunnel support. Horizontal load is caused by the sudden loosing of underground rock mass or the leakage of underground water, so it is fairly complex to predict horizontal loading on a tunnel support. To predict the horizontal load on this component is defined as the problem that determines the horizontal load conditions in wedges of tunnel support. This is an optimization problem in which maximum bending stress and horizontal load are considered by an objective function and design variables, respectively. Therefore, in this study, design of experiments and optimization algorithm were applied to identify the horizontal load in tunnel support.
Study on Structural Analysis of DCB Specimen Bonded with Aluminum Foam Composite

In this study, the fracture behaviour of DCB(double cantilever beam) specimen with aluminum foam composite materials is analyzed by simulation. The used model is 3D configuration on the basis of British industrial standard and ISO international standard. As the thickness of model is increased, the length of propagated crack is increased and the load becomes higher. The analysis result obtained by this study can be applied at the practical composite structure bonded with aluminum foam materials. The fracture behaviour is analyzed and the mechanical property can be understood.
A Study on Flow and Vibration Analysis, and Performance Test for Automotive Fuel Pump

The fuel pump mounted on the engine in the vehicle is consist of the outer and inter rotors, and which inhales fuel from the inlet port and supplies it to the outlet port. In this study, it is carried out the analysis and test of the fuel pump with rotors to evaluate its performance. It is analyzed the flow characteristics of the fuel pumps with numerical simulation in their inlet-outlet angles of 0, 15, 30 degree. After it is determined whether it has the best flow characteristics, its vibration characteristics is analyzed. The flow rate of a pump in the inlet-outlet angles of 0 degree is 191.0 LPH(Liter per hour) which is the largest. and its vibration is calculated to be 0.866
. In the results of vibration test, it is known that the vibration of the research pump is smaller than that of the existing one. And the natural frequencies of two pumps is nearly same. Therefore it is known that the performance of the research pump is superior.
Heat and Flow Analysis in the HVAC Impeller for Mid-Size Car

In this research, various cases of centrifugal impeller for HVAC system have been numerically analyzed by changing center angle of blades and length of outlet. Commercial CFD code, FLUENT has been used to calculate velocity, pressure, turbulence intensity, and temperature that can lead numerous results. Regardless of warming up, when the heater power level was increased, the temperature inside surrounding impeller also increased due to flowing outer air, but the temperature decreased because of flowing inner air. Consequently, the variation of central angle of blades and length of outlet led difference of velocity and flow rate which can reduce
in gas emission.
A Study on Cooling of Piezoelectric Element of Multifunction Equipment for Vacuum Exhaust and Ultrasonic Joining

Vacuum chamber or vacuum tube for the exhaust process of vacuum glazing is presently used, where excessive time and expenses are required to make the whole vacuum chamber or tube vacuum. To solve this problem, multifunction equipment for vacuum exhaust and ultrasonic joining at atmospheric pressure has been developed, in which a piezoelectric vibrator experiences excessive temperature rise resulting in optimizing the cooling of the equipment. Therefore, in this study, cooling effects of natural convection and forced convection methods were identified by numerical analysis and experiments, and cooling performance of the multifunction equipment was optimized.

A Brand is supposed to age as it goes by, following a brand life cycle, as it is not a solid, immutable asset but something of a living creature. Therefore, self-renovation and revitalization efforts are needed, in order to incessantly confirm the self existence through the relationship with the consumer. In 2009 and 2011, `Beksul`, brand in maturity stage tried to revitalize Brand and the brand image two-times. For this study, brand logo and TV commercials of Beksul for revitalization were gathered via TVCF.com and their creative strategy were studied. This study could find that the creative strategy of brand in maturity stage is based on its brand essence and focused on reinforcing brand royalty.

The study examines entrepreneurial motivation and maintenance factors of independent publication, a rising business in the current digital era. Focusing on a case of independent publication which has been successful, this research discloses that personal attributes and backgrounds of individuals are the main factors to motivate them to establish businesses. Personal attributes include desire for achievement, self-control, risk-taking inclination, and etc., and personal backgrounds contain educational background, work experiences in the same line of business, social network, and etc. Moreover, this research also discovers that both intrinsic reward indicating the belief that the individuals will be able to publish the books which they want, and extrinsic reward as market profits are the main maintenance factors. This case study will contribute to developing the education and consulting programs for independent publication entrepreneurship and the related policies.
An Efficient Portfolio Selection Methodology using DEA Approach

This study proposes an efficient portfolio selection methodology for the listed corporations in KOSPI with consideration of managerial efficiency. For each industrial sector classified by KRX(Korea Exchange), the proposed method carries out an efficiency analysis using DEA (Data envelopment analysis) approach and for the efficient corporations filtered by DEA, construct portfolio using Markowitz`s Model. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, we constructed annually portfolios for 4 years (2007-2010) out of 600 listed corporations in KOSPI and KOSDAQ, and proved that our portfolios are superior to benchmark portfolios in terms of rate of returns.
A Study on the Relationship Between Appropriateness of Education/Training for IT Professionals and Organizational Commitment: Moderating Effects of Top Talents Management and Organizational Trust

The professional workers with a sophisticated knowledge, skill and ability are core human resources to sustain firm`s competitiveness. It is very crucial to provide professional workers with an appropriate education and training to get them have organizational commitment. Thus, this study examines the relationship between appropriateness of education/training for IT professionals and organizational commitment, and explores the moderating effects that top talent management and trust have on the association between appropriateness of education/training (AET) and organizational commitment (OC). The 379 responses from firm panel survey of human capitals, which was conducted by KRIVET on 2009, were used to assess construct validity and research hypotheses. The findings show that appropriateness of education/training has a positive impact on organizational commitment. It is also found that respecting top talent has a moderating effect on the AET-OC relationship whereas trust doesn`t moderate the AET-OC relationship.
A Study on Pre-parents` Perception of Parental Role and View of Children

In this study, a survey was carried out on 200 23-year old unmarried men and women attending j university in j city from October 4 to October 7, 2011 to figure out pre-parents` perception of parental role and view of children, and put forward the necessity of pre-parent education by providing opportunities for pre-parent education. The results are summarized as follows. First, the perception of general parenting and parental role showed that `parenting` is the highest, following by `parental role`. For women, nuclear families and large families, who feel much necessity of pre-parent education in the academic liberal arts, the perception of general parenting, parental role and parenting by sub-factors was positive. Second, the perception of general view of children showed that `children plan` is the highest, followed by `pregnancy and birth.` For those surveyed, who have a plan for marriage and children plan or feel much necessity of pre-parent education in the academic liberal arts, the perception of general view of children, children plan by sub-factors, and pregnancy and birth was relatively positive. As for findings stated above, for pre-parents in their 20s~30s, women` perception of parental role and view of children was more positive than men`. And nuclear families` or large families` perception was more positive than single parent families`. These findings confirm there is a difference between parental role and view of children according to growth environments of pre-parents in social realities that the low birth rate is growing.
An Exploratory Study on Consumers` Design Sensitivity of Luxury Brand Products and non-Luxury Brand Products and Its Effect on Purchase Intention

This study attempts to explore the design sensitivity of both luxury and non-luxury brand products, and its effect on purchase intention. As a result, there was no difference in design sensitivity between luxury and non-luxury brand product, but the effect of design sensitivity on purchase intention was found different between luxury and non-luxury brand. It shows that for luxury brand, the people with high design pursuit of the brand have high purchase intention while for non-luxury brand, the people with high design value of the brand have high purchase intention. It indicates that for luxury brands, consumers already recognize the value of its design, which does not affect the purchase intention. For non-luxury brands, it would be important to let consumers recognize their design value.
The Effect of Career Self-efficacy on the Course of Retirement for Baby Boomer Generation

Year 2010 was the first year in which the baby boomer generation began to regularly retire by the corporate retirement system. For the following 10 years from then, large scale retirement of the baby boomer generation that used to be the driving force of economic growth in Korean society is expected to cause various social problems such as reduction in labor force and economic loss from transfer to welfare subjects. In relation to reemployment of the baby boomer generation after retirement, this study was attempted first, for analysis on the difference in the course of retirement according to average monthly income and current occupation and second, with an assumption that career self efficacy will influence the course of retirement. Total of 500 surveys for this study were distributed to baby boomer generations through direct visit or mail post in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungnam, Gyeongnam, Jeonnam and Jeju for one month during January 17 and February 16, 2012. 443 surveys were returned, among which 400 effective responses were selected as study subjects. As a result, the course of retirement according to average monthly income was verified to be significant for all factors. Significant results were found for the course of retirement according to current occupation in job transfer, complete non-employment and repetitive non-employment. In relation to the effect of career self efficacy on the course of retirement, job movement factor was affected by 21%. This study will be a good guide for the establishment of a social policy and retirement life preparation of the baby boomer generation.

This study has focused on analyzing the changes of increasing sales and potential growth by different scales of support with funds through effect analysis on governmental policy loan. It provided significant findings for the further governmental policy loan since it conducted the performance analysis of different business respectively, which included business with the governmental policy loan and ones without any loan.
Measuring Unemployment Durations of Different Types of Workers

This paper aims to build a model of unemployment duration, in which each type of unemployment duration can be defined as a function of other exogenous variables. Recently, the so-called mismatch in the labor market has become a big issue in most countries. It is very obvious that `mismatch` is deeply related to the long duration of unemployment status. Two problems may be head and tail of the same coin. Employing a simple analysis of Markov stochastic process, the model of unemployment duration developed here is useful for seeing the effects of shocks on unemployment duration. The model allows us to distinguish the determinants of different kinds of unemployment and to identify the nature of unemployment duration.

This research focuses the e-service quality and relationship between the e-service quality, customer satisfaction and behavioral intention in the AppShopping Mall. Based on the documentary research, the empirical study was followed by the questionnaire. The 313 usable questionnaires were collected by a self-administered survey. The results reveal that the e-service quality determinants are factors including customer service, app design, security, connectivity and user`s convenience, and that the e-service quality is directly or indirectly related to customer satisfaction and behavioral intention. The AppShopping mall managers have to try on their best to find out the customer`s needs, manage the lists of the e-service quality and develop the app.
A Study on the Effects of Acculturative Stress Factors to Mental Health of Married Immigrant Women

The purpose of this study is to examine the mental health of married immigrant women and the effect of cultural adaptation stress of married immigrant women on mental health. The subjects were 239 married immigrant women who live in Pusan city. Collected date were analyzed through frequency, percentage, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows. The 17.6% of the sample had the problem of mental health. The result of stepwise multiple regression analysis indicated that factors which predict the level of married immigrant women`s mental health were cultural shock, fear, and guilty feeling. The findings give us significant practical implications for social work intervention.

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether asset sales contributed to increase of the shareholder value of the seller and the buyer in Japan. The period of analysis is 2000-2007. As a result of event study, Although the stockholder of the seller earn positive abnormal returns at the announcement of a asset sales, most stockholders of the buyer were break even. However, the buyer which purchase related asset get positive abnormal returns. Furthermore, when using a matched seller-buyer, we find that asset sales are firm value enhancing for the seller and buyer. Furthermore, we verify whether the excess return depends on the financial condition, and the managerial performance. we find that seller gains are related to the seller`s managerial performance, leverage ratio, and buyer gains are related to the leverage ratio, foreigner holdings ratio. we conclude that lender and outside monitoring lead to increase of firm value.

The Effect of Allocation to Third Parties in Increase of Capital on Stock Price of KOSDAQ Firms

The allocation to third parties in increase of capital is increasing in KOSDAQ firms. With this trend, they cause many problems which involves stock price manipulation. Under this condition, this study analyzes stock price reaction by event study to 197 cases of 81 KOSDAQ companies that allocated to third parties in increase of capital between the year of 2007 and 2009. And we find determinants of cumulative abnormal return by using multiple regression. Results of this research are as follows. First, in case of excess return of (-5, +5), it reveals positive excess return significantly at 1% significance level during 4 days before payment day(event day). But it reveals negative excess return significantly at 1% significance level during 5 days after payment day. Second, in case of excess return of (-40, +40), it reveals positive excess return significantly at 1% significance level during 40 days before payment day(event day). But it reveals negative excess return significantly at 1% significance level during 40 days after payment day. Third, in case of excess return of (0, 1 year), it reveals negative excess return significantly at 1% significance level during 1 year after payment day. Fourth, significant determinant of cumulative abnormal return to (-5, +5) was firm size with positive effect. Significant determinants of cumulative abnormal return to (-40, +40) were reserve ratio and debt ratio. Reserve ratio has positive effect But debt ratio has negative effect. Significant determinants of cumulative abnormal return to (0, 1 year) were firm size, debt ratio, reserve ratio. equity ratio to large shareholder. Firm size, debt ratio, equity ratio to large shareholder have negative effect. But reserve ratio has positive effect.

In general, fault of a virtually finished product that is value-added one, since it has gone throughout the most of processes, may give rise to quality cost nearly amount to its selling price and can be a main cause that decreases the efficiency of manufacturing process. This paper proposes a dispatching algorithm for manufacturing process with quality volatilities with consideration of due-dates and required quality level. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, this paper examines the performance of the proposed method by comparing it with that of the existing dispatching algorithms in terms of minimizing the mean tardiness. In addition, from the perspective of process capability based on required quality level, this study shows the superiority of the proposed dispatching algorithm.

The purpose of this descriptive survey was to investigate the duration of exclusive breastfeeding practice and its related factors of married immigrant Vietnamese women. And to provide baseline information necessary to develop education programs for the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding practice among them. 125 married immigrant Vietnamese women with a child between 6 months and 60 months old were conveniently recruited in two Multi-cultural Family Support Center in Chungcheong area. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire of Korean and Vietnamese versions. The data were analyzed using frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Stepwise multiple regression with SPSS 18.0 program. The results were as follows; 1) The mean duration of exclusive breastfeeding of the subjects was 15.9 weeks. 2) As the infants grows older, the rate of formula feeding and mixed feeding were markedly increased. 3) Stepwise multiple regression analysis indicated that breastfeeding education and family type were significant determinants of the duration of exclusive breastfeeding practice. This model accounted for 30.8% of the duration of exclusive breastfeeding practice. Based on these results, we recommend to develop systematic breastfeeding education program in order to promote the duration of exclusive breastfeeding practice among married immigrant Vietnamese women.

As alcohol use is one of the most important risk factors for injuries, this study was intended to clarify and evaluate any relationship between drinking patterns and the incidence rates/specific characteristics of injuries in adult populations, using a widely accepted tool, the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (chronic alcohol drinking behaviors measurement, hereinafter the AUDIT) developed by the World Health Organization to help to assess the behaviors in a more accurate and reliable manner. This study used the data collected from the 2009 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES), in which 7,511 of 7,893 adult participants aged
years answered the questions about injuries, and excluding 104 non-respondents, 6,258 of participants in the questionnaire survey of drinking patterns were finally analyzed. The incidence rates and specific characteristics of injuries as classified by the AUDIT categories (i.e., body regions, types and mechanisms) were assessed and estimated in terms of their relative risk using t-test, ANOVA, and logistic regression. SPSS 19.0 statistical package software was employed for statistical analyses. These analyses indicate that the incidence rates of overall injuries were significantly higher in male respondents than in female respondents. The risks of alcohol use related injuries were 8.3 times higher in male respondents than in female ones. Regarding educational background, high school graduates showed the highest rates in the AUDIT with significant difference from the other groups. The married group and the group of respondents having monthly income estimated at KRW 2.01 to 3 million also showed the highest rates in the AUDIT compared to the other groups, indicating statistically significant difference. Significantly increased in problematic drinkers and those with alcohol dependence, the incidence rate of injuries body regions was 0.0371 in the head/neck, and with respect to the AUDIT and the mechanisms of external causes of injuries, transport accidents ranked first, followed by slippage, others, crash and fall. In regard to the classified types of injuries, it was statistically significant in others (e.g., laceration, contusion, addiction, or penetrating wound). In conclusion, the mechanisms of external causes of injuries as well as injuries attributed to alcohol use are very important, and a strategy is required to reduce such the injuries in the manner of decreasing the frequency of drinking after motivation by professional counsellors.

This study was conducted to examine the differences of the quality of chest compression between 10 cm higher position of rescuer`s knee from the bottom and its bottom position during implementation of CPR. It selected randomly subjects out of 66 students who attend the Dept. of Emergency Medical Technology in G college, G metropolitan city as the first grader and divided them into 31 experimental group and 32 control group from Nov. 8 to 9, 2011. -test and Fisher`s exact probability test using SPSS 14.0 for Window, Mann-Whitney U-test, and Wilcoxon signed rank test. As a result of the study, it was found that 10 cm higher position of rescuer knee from the bottom than the bottom position and group below 170 cm in their height and 65 kg in their weight were more effective in proper depth of chest compression and average chest compression depth.
Needs for Hospice Care among Families of Children with Cancer for Outpatients

The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for child hospice care in families of children with cancer for outpatient. The participants were 83 parents of children with cancer. This survey was conducted from January 2011 to March 2011 at four hospitals in Daegu. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA using the SPSS/WIN Program. Needs for hospice care for the participants were high. The need for "emotional care of children" showed the highest, "control of secondary physical problems", "acceptance of the family`s difficulty", "management for terminal physical symptoms", "spiritual care for preparing for death". With respect on the demographic characteristics of the participants, there were statistically significant differences in hospice care needs, among to the religion, sibling, relatives, whether of the cancer. The above findings indicate that needs for hospice care for the participants were high about emotional care, especially as it is related to children`s anxiety. Therefore hospice care, based on emotional part, should be provided systematic hospice care with specialized multidisciplinary child hospice care team, child hospice center.
A Study on Various Automatic Exposure Control System in Multi-Detector Computed Tomography by Using Human Phantom

The purpose of the study was to evaluation of the radiation dose reduction and the possibility of the maintainability of the adequate image quality using various automatic exposure control (AEC) systems in multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT). We used three AEC systems for the study: General Electric Healthcare (Auto-mA 3D), Philips Medical systems (DoseRight) and Siemens Medical Solutions (Care Dose 4D). The general scanning protocol was created for the each examination with the same scanning parameters as many as possible. In the various AEC systems, the evaluation of reduced-dose was evaluated by comparing to fixed mAs with using human phantom. The image quality of the phantom was evaluated with measuring the image noise (standard deviation) by insert regions of interests. Finally, when we applied to AEC for three manufacturers, the radiation dose reduction decreased each 35.3% in the Auto-mA 3D, 58.2% in the DoseRight, and 48.6% in the Care Dose 4D. The purpose of this study was to identify the loneliness and spiritual needs of the elderly in a certain area. The participants in this study were over 65 years, 159 elderly who attended in senior classes in Seoul. The instruments used for this study were revised UCLA `Loneliness scale` developed by Russell, Peplau & Cutrona (1980) and translated by Kim & Kim (1989) and `Spiritual need scale` developed by Yong (2008). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 program, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe`s test and Pearson`s correlation coefficient. The score of loneliness was 2.02/4, spiritual need was 4.51/5. The relationship between loneliness and spiritual needs showed significant negative correlation. Loneliness of the elderly who do not attend a religious attendance was high and spiritual needs were low. Spiritual needs of the elderly who are women over 80 years and living with subsidy from the government were high. Spiritual nursing interventions are needed to reduce a feeling of loneliness among the elderly who experience high degree of loneliness.
A Study on the Relationships between Occupational Therapists` Burn-out, Professional Self-concept, and Self-efficacy

The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of occupational therapists` burn-out, professional self-concept, and self-efficacy and also their socio-demographic characteristics and to verify the effects of professional self-concept and self-efficacy on their burn-out. The subjects of this survey were 138 occupational therapists who perform occupational therapy. From October 13th till November 2nd, 2011, a structuralized questionnaire was used to collect data. The results of this study were follows: First, the occupational therapists` mean score of burn-out was 2.12(range: 0-6), and the mean score of professional self-concept and self-efficacy were 2.64(range: 1-4) and 3.56(range: 1-5). Second, according to the general characteristics of the occupational therapists, burn-out showed significant difference by treatment hours per day, duty to work on Saturdays, aptitude and religion. Third, professional self-concept had positive correlation with self-efficacy. And professional self-concept and self-efficacy showed negative correlation with burn-out. Fourth, chief variables affecting occupational therapists` burn-out were professional self-concept and religion. Therefore it is necessary to reduce occupational therapists` burn-out and improve the services of their occupational therapy qualitatively by developing programs to enhance their professional self-concept.
Comparison of Hospital Standardized Mortality Ratio Using National Hospital Discharge Injury Data

This study was to develop the assessment of medical service outcome using administration data through compared with hospital standardized mortality ratios(HSMR) in various hospitals. This study analyzed 63,664 cases of Hospital Discharge Injury Data of 2007 and 2008, provided by Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We used data mining technique and compared decision tree and logistic regression for developing risk-adjustment model of in-hospital mortality. Our Analysis shows that gender, length of stay, Elixhauser comorbidity index, hospitalization path, and primary diagnosis are main variables which influence mortality ratio. By comparing hospital standardized mortality ratios(HSMR) with standardized variables, we found concrete differences (55.6-201.6) of hospital standardized mortality ratios(HSMR) among hospitals. This proves that there are quality-gaps of medical service among hospitals. This study outcome should be utilized more to achieve the improvement of the quality of medical service.

Capillary blood sampling on the forearm reduces pain caused by skin puncture. The present study compared the blood glucose test results performed at different sampling sites of the forearm, finger, and vein to evaluate clinical validity of this alternative site blood sampling technique. Subjects numbered 555 including 61 diabetic patients participated to measure the glucose concentration on the finger (

) with a portable glucometer under overnight fasting state. Then, the venous glucose concentration (

Relationship Between Job Stress and Fatigue Symptoms Among Nurses in a University Hospital

The present study was intended to measure the level of fatigue symptoms among nurses working for a university hospital and to reveal its related factors. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 450 nurses during the period from October 1st to 31st, 2010. As a results, the level of fatigue symptoms were 75.1% in normal group, and the high-risk group 24.9%. The level of fatigue symptoms reflected in job stress contents were higher as job demand was higher, and the autonomy of job and the supervisor support was lower. In correlations, fatigue symptoms were found to be in a positive correlation with job demand, whereas in negative correlation with autonomy of job and supervisor support. The adjusted odds ratio of fatigue symptoms on job demand were significantly increased in the high risk group than in low group, but autonomy of job. were significantly decreased in the high risk group than in low group. In conclusion, the study results indicated that the level of fatigue symptoms is independently influenced by job stress contents.
Protective Effects of HEAC and its Primary Active Compound on HCl-ethanol Induced Gastritis in Rats

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the gastric mucosal damage effect by Hericium erinaceus cultibated with Artemisia capillaris (HEAC) with 0.15 M HCl in ethanol in rats. Among them, 80% ethanol extract showed potent inhibitory effect (67.7%) on gastritis. Using solvent fractionation, 80% ethanol extract of HEAC was separated into five fractions with

-butanol and water. As a result, fractions obtained with methylene chloride exhibited strong inhibitory effects on gastritis. With this result, the methylene chloride extract was analyzed by GC/MS, HPLC, IR and NMR(
) to identify primary active components and the main component in the extract was identified as ethyl linoleate. The effective does (
) values of 80% ethanol extract of HEAC and ethyl linoleate showed 22.6 and 6.4 mg/kg, respectively and these values were higher than those of stillen (44.2 mg/kg) and selbex (46.5 mg/kg). Therefore, the administration of 80% ethanol extract of HEAC and ethyl linoleate have a strong protective effect agasint the gastritis induced by HCl-ethanol and may be promising new drug for treating gastritis and gastric ulcer.
Development of A DC Motor Controller for 24V-500W Small Electric Vehicle

In this paper, a new motor driving circuit is designed to improve the output performance of DC motor, and a controller is developed with the designed circuit. By the designed driving circuit, a controller can continuously drive DC motors by a transformer which has switching signals of a self-generated circuit to operate it. And while the DC motor have a maximum velocity, the reference voltage can be maintained higher value than that of triangle voltage and it makes the DC motor driving transistor ON and maximum power. A 24V-500W DC motor controller is developed with the proposed motor driving circuit, and also a small electric car is made and the driving test of it is executed. The test results shows that it can continuously control go and back speed of motor with 12A driving current. And also, it is verified that the over current and heat detecting function is operating correctly and the rest value of the used battery can be displayed as 6 step from 20 to 100%.

In this paper, a new high-efficiency CMOS bridge rectifier for driving RFID tag chips is designed and analyzed. The input stage of the proposed rectifier is designed as a cascade structure connected with two NMOSs for reducing the gate capacitance by circuitry method, which is the main path of the leakage current that is increased when the operating frequency is increased. This gate capacitance reduction technique using the cascade input stage for reducing the gate leakage current is presented theoretically. The output characteristics of the proposed rectifier are derived analytically using its high frequency small-signal equivalent circuit. For the general load resistance of
, the proposed rectifier shows better power conversion efficiencies of 28.9% for 915MHz UHF (for ISO 18000 -6) and 15.3% for 2.45GHz microwave (for ISO 18000-4) than those of 26.3% and 26.8% for 915MHz, and 13.2% and 12.6% for 2.45GHz of compared other two existing rectifiers. Therefore, the proposed rectifier may be used as a general purpose rectifier to drive tag chips for various RFID systems.

In this paper, Power LED(Light Emitting Diodes) is studied to driver as a new lighting system in the spotlight, replacing a large existing lighting system with fluorescent and incandescent lighting. To take advantage a variety of DC power as the boost DC-DC converter design specifications through the inductor L and capacitor C through PSPICE to calculate the best estimate of the value. Converter`s switching frequency is 50[kHz], the first Duty Rate was made to increase gradually depending on the value of the detection were, 10[%] in the output voltage. As a result, the simulated Boost Power LED driver characteristics is in comparison with the design specifications, 5[%] or less as the error was approximated. So, when input 15[V] were offered, a stable output 24[V] were obtained, and Dimming Control through the adjustment of brightness and current consumption were obtained to possible result.

This paper proposes a modeling method for hybrid generation system with wind turbine and diesel generator applicable in island area. For modeling objects, squirrel-cage induction generator is considered as wind turbine generator and synchronous generator as diesel generator. Parameters and controllers related to them are established and modeled through analysis of traditional small capacity class. The simulation results for practical size hybrid generation system were suggested.

As a new Korean grid code which includes LVRT requirement to wind farm of which capacity is greater than 20MW is activated in 2012, this paper developed the analytical model of the Korean LVRT for the simulation based feasibility study of the wind farm interconnection into power systems. The developed model of the LVRT is verified by applying it into the performance evaluation of the wind farm interconnected power systems and the effect of Korean LVRT is analyzed through case studies considering typical disturbances of power systems.

In this research, we developed the Information Circulation Model(ICM) by modifying and supplementing Information Process Model(IPM) in DNS. This ICM is used to simulate some combat situations that could not be considered with the existing DNS. We showed that this improved ICM can be applied to simulation and analysis of a variety of interests compared with IPM in DNS. We expect this study could be a basic research for further development of C4ISR effectiveness analysis in our national defense community.

The intra prediction and the motion estimation of inter prediction occupy 70 ~ 80% of whole compression time in H.264/AVC. Compression efficiency has been higher, but complexity has increased and coding time has also increased much more. This paper proposes a block size decision method of the intra prediction and mode decision method which minimize the loss of video quality during the encoding and shorten the time spent. This paper, in addition, proposes an algorithm which determines the method of adaptive block mode for motion estimation of inter prediction. We investigated PSNR and the intra prediction and inter prediction of time-consuming calculations in order to measure video quality degradation and complexity through experiments. Consequently, when you use all three methods, these methods showed that average coding time is shortened as about 500 to 600ms in every frame in the case of all experimented videos, keeping video quality nearly similar, compared with existing methods of H.264.

Recently, smartphone communications using Wi-Fi channel are increasing rapidly to provide diverse internet services. The WPA security protocol was used for data protection between user and wireless AP. However, WPA-PSK protocol was known to be weak to the dictionary attack. In this paper, we proposed a secure WPA-PSK protocol to resist the dictionary attack. Since the proposed method was designed to generate a strong encryption key which is combined the Diffie-Hellman key agreement scheme with secrecy property of PSK(Pre-Shared Key), we can protect the Wi-Fi channel from Man-In-The-Middle attack and Rogue AP impersonation attack.

This paper proposes a method to track the center of pupil and perform the remote control for interface based on the substituted commands according to movements of pupil under smart phone environment. The proposed method, which is a remote control through the movement of eyes, may be helpful for the handicapped people or users who want a more convenient input method. A method based on webcam, which is representative one among the previous methods to track pupil of user, has a few limitations on distance and angle between location of user and webcam. However, this paper uses smart phone that is convenient to carry. The proposed method can perform the remote control through tracking of pupil using wireless network without any restriction on the location of users. Thus, the method is effectively applied for controlling the smart TV that should be controlled on the distance as well as the remote control for PC.

It is very difficult to construct and manager public transit, like subway, in small city. In this paper, we suggest full electric vehicle sharing service framework as a public transit system in small city. The suggested system will reduce environment pollution and increase resource usage efficiency. The simulation result shows that the suggested electric vehicle sharing system can reduce traffic congestion and lower city road stress.

Utilization of the former OSS was mainly focused on the usage of system applications such as operating system and DBMS. However, nowadays many companies are trying to make use of OSS based on the application rather than the system software. However, selection of base OSS is the most important to develop of application for utilizing OSS. The scope of existing OSS evaluation studies is covered the entire OSS quality. Thus existing studies of evaluation of OSS selection is insufficient. Also, the result of assessment is based on qualitative measurement rather than quantitative ones. In this paper, we derives only the indicators for selection among the existing OSS assessment indicators and suggests the assessment indicator that is capable of quantitative assessment in accordance with the characteristics of the project. The proposed assessment indicator is divided into an initial assessment indicator that can be assessed with only the information within the OSS community, and the detailed assessment indicator through metrics to make quantitative measurements possible. In this way, an objective basis can be provided through quantitative scores & indicators when selecting OSS.

By analyzing the use of outdoor space in apartment complex and finding empirical proof which is concrete and systemic, this study focuses on the relationship between residents` daily lives and physical space. This study tries to find out the types and characteristics of outdoor space which causes the occurrence of residents` use in High-Rise apartment housing Estates, and analyzes the residents` usage pattern of outdoor space in eight different apartment complexes which were builted since 2004. After analyzing the usage pattern of outdoor space, the usage of playground was ranked highest and playing, talking, exercising, resting was in order. Especially it was found that the usage inside semi-public space where passing is abundant increases.

This study tried to analyze traffic assignment volume by application of land use patterns and transport policies in District Unit Design. It is postulated a Toy network and various scenarios which are combined land use patterns and transport policies for analyzing change of assignment volume. As results, this study shows best District Unit Design technique is the policy that develop mid block and introduction of car free zone to inner 2 way streets. Worst design technique is the policy that introduction of joint car parking to mid block. And also worst design technique to residents who are living in inner block is the policy that just develop only one center zone.
Small Scaled Laboratory Test of Eco-Friendly Backfill Materials with Bottom Ash

A small-scale chamber test laboratory for controlled low strength materials with bottom ash and recycled in-situ soil have been carried out. Laboratory test which was simulated during construction stage was conducted. The vertical deflection of 4.43mm to 6.6mm, and the horizontal deflection of 5.49mm to 15.9 mm were measured during backfilling. In case of loading, the vertical deflection of 2.41mm to 8.69mm, and the horizontal deflection of 1.66mm to 2.53mm were measured. Its residual deflections were 1.40mm to 5.93mm for vertical and 1.66mm to 2.53mm for lateral. The vertical and horizontal deflecto of controlled low strength materials were smaller than that of sand backfill. Also, it was same trend for the measured surface settlement.
Finite Difference Method on Consolidation under Time Dependent Loading

Formulation of finite difference method for analyzing consolidation were carried out. It can be seen that the differences in settlement with time obtained by FDM and Terzaghi method are diminished by fine discretization of time increment. Excess pore pressures predicted by the derived finite difference equation were same as those calculated by Olson`s method. Predicted time-settlement behavior from the derived finite difference method were almost same as those calculated by Terzaghi`s method and Olson`s method. Analysis results obtained from the assumed multi-step time dependent loading are thought to be reasonable.
Finite Element Analyses on Local Buckling Strength of Polygonal-Section Shell Towers

Since the subpanels of polygonal-section shell have the corners of an obtuse angle larger than 90 degree unlike general plate or box-section structures, this could have an influence on forming nodal lines against local plate buckling or stress distributions. However, there is not sufficient material in the relevant study results or design recommendations. The very feasible models of the initial imperfections were acquired through the literature studies and then the parametric studies were conducted along with the initial imperfection models by using the finite element method. The parameters like the size of residual stresses, the portion of compressive residual stresses, and steel grades were considered. From the parametric studies, it was found that the maximum residual stress is more influential factor than the distribution pattern of residual stresses. In addition, The design strength equations for the simply supported plates can be applicable to the determination of the local buckling strength of the polygonal cross-section shell structures.
Economic Feasibility of Bucket Foundation for Offshore Wind Farm

As the turbine capacity and the water depth of wind farms are increasing, the construction cost of substructures and foundations for offshore wind turbines is expected to increase. Since the installation of suction bucket foundation is achieved by both self-weight and applied suction, the construction generally does not require heavy equipment for penetration. This study provides an economic analysis on the tripod which have the bucket foundations and compares that the jacket foundation at 50m water depth on sand layer or soft layer. As the strength of the soil and the number of the foundation is increasing, the construction cost of the tripod with the bucket foundations is more economically feasible than the jacket foundation.

This study evaluated whether the installed location of air quality monitoring stations is at an optimal level in an effort to improve the health and environmental quality of the surrounding areas of the Pohang Steel Complex. As a result of analyzing the atmospheric flow field, it was found that the location of air quality monitoring stations was acceptable in case of Daesong-myeon(The 1st Division of Local Wind Sector) and Jukdo-dong(The 3rd Division of Local Wind Sector). However, the air quality monitoring stations installed at Daedo-dong and Jukdo-dong is judged to have made an overlapped measurement because the stations existed at the Division of the same Wind Sector. Accordingly, this study suggests that the further air quality monitoring stations should be additionally installed at Buk-gu areas of Pohang where more than 50% of the population of Pohang is living presently.
