The effect of heat input and PWHT on the mechanical properties and microstructure of HSB600 steel weldments with GMAW

High performance steel for bridges requires higher performance in tensile and yield strength, toughness, weldability, etc. The purpose of this study is to investigate the weldability of HSB 600 steel. The effects of heat input (1.4~3.2kJ/mm) and postweld heat treatment (PWHT,
, 40hr.) on the TMCP HSB600 steel weldments made by GMAW process were investigated. The tensile strength and hardness of as-welded specimens decreased with increasing heat input. Charpy V-notch impact energy did not show any significant difference by postweld heat treatment. The fine-grained acicular ferrite was mainly formed in the 2.1kJ/mm of heat input while polygonal and side plate ferrites were dominated in the high inputs. Meanwhile, tensile strength and hardness of PWHT weldments decreased due to the coarsening and globularization of ferrite microstructure and reduction of residual stresses with increasing heat inputs. However, there was no significant difference in the impact energy absorption.
Fuel Economy improvement Method and Performance Evaluation Using Altitude Data

The vehicle fuel economy is very important issue in the view of global warming. This paper proposes the three fuel economy improvement algorithms which predict the velocity using altitude data of the positions in front of vehicle and estimates their performances. The proposed 3 algorithms are WMGA(Weighted Mean Gradient Angle), RAADE I, II(Reacceleration After Deacceleration I, II). This research extracts the distance and altitude data from received GPS data and calculates gradient angle and road load for each section. The velocity profile according to proposed algorithms is made for Youngdong highway of 213km. And the test vehicle runs along this highway and fuel economy is measured. RAADE II of proposed algorithms showed better performance by 3.571% in comparison to the conventional CVELCONT3.
Technical Evaluation of Railway Transportation System with the Change of Gauge

Recently the increase in the exchange of goods between Europe and Asia caused by social and economic factors creates good opportunities for railways. At the same time, however, it becomes an enormous challenge for railway transport. There are different rail track gauges (i.e narrow/standard/broad gauge) on the continental transportation between Korea (TKR) and Eurasian (TCR/TSR). The existence of various track gauges is one of obstacles preventing the smooth flow of goods by rail. The transferring process system from one track gauge to another could vary with the types of cargo. Service operation of these systems has a decisive effect on working time and cost of storage and transshipment facilities at border crossings. In relation to the above-mentioned factors, it is important to examine the comparison between different methods of transferring goods in different track gauges. In this study, it was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of continental railway transportation systems through analysis scenarios and to suggest technical factors of them.
Computational Fluid Dynamics of Hydraulic Valve Meter

In this research paper a hydraulic valve meter for the measurement of water pressure in fields was designed by using three dimensional automatic design program CATIA. And, also computational fluid dynamics was applied to the designed hydraulic valve meter in order to obtain flow distributions due to internal pressures. This analytical results will be provided as fundamental data in the development of new concepts of hydraulic valve meter and the hydraulic valve meter in development may reduce valve checking times and improve safety by preventing accidents earlier.

The air brake system used in heavy vehicle is very important from the point of safety due to its weight. In general, air brake system generates relatively long response time and large loss of pressure. It is known that the response time can be decreased by optimal design of brake system, i.e., by increasing the system pressure, minimizing the air line, and material of components. In this study, We developed experimental rigs for the measurement of braking response of heavy duty trucks and compared with the simulated results obtained from the net work fluid flow system analysis code (FLOWMASTER). The effect of several parameters such as, system pressure, diameter of pipe, chamber temperature on the brake response performance have been examined.

Compressor is one of the most widely employed component in fluid machinery system. It takes tremendous efforts to improve compressor efficiency which affects the coefficient of performance of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems directly. Among various types of compressor, scroll-type compressor is commonly prevalent one with its high compression capability despite relatively small size and weight. Numerous experimental studies have been done to develop for the scroll-type compressor; however, computational models to evaluate the compressor performance or efficiency are not much available in the course of compressor designing process. In this study, a computational model was developed on the basis of geometrical theory using 1-D commercial software AMESim. A simulation study was carried out using the model, and the simulation result was validated with analytical data. This research is expected to provide a viable tool for developing and optimizing a scroll-type compressor.
Stability Analysis of UH-60 Helicopter with External Store

This paper presents the stability analysis of UH-60 helicopter with external store such like chaff/flare dispenser. An external store can affect the natural frequency of the aircraft and induce the resonance, which cause the failure of structures. In this paper, therefore, Rayleigh method is used to investigate the resonance with aircraft and external store, and transmission formula is used to determine the vibration load. Structural analysis with local modeling method are performed to present the robust design of aircraft with external store. The ground and flight test are also done to verify the stability of the aircraft.
A Study on the Forming Conditions of a Forging Piston by using the Finite Element Simulation and the Taguchi Method

This paper presents design methodology to determine the design parameters that affect the manufacture of aluminum forging piston using the FE simulation and the Taguchi method. Maximum forging load is used as the objective function, and preform, material temperature and draft angle are selected as the design parameters. Their combinations are implemented by orthogonal array, and forging load is evaluated through the simulation. From the analytic results of design parameters to minimize the load using signal to noise ratio, their optimal combinations are proposed. The proposed design methodology will be able to help in selecting proper preform among preforms and to be used in determining the optimal combination of the parameters in metal forming process.
Visual Inspection System for Irregularly Formed Timing Belt with Low Reflection Ratio

Visual inspection systems are widely proposed for the well formed surface materials like electronics parts. But the materials with ill reflection ability have many troubles when visual inspection system is introduced. We have developed a robust visual inspection system that can work well in spite of low reflection ratio and with much noise when truth model is not known in the mixed production line. A workpiece identification technique using k-means has been proposed to identify the type. Based on the identified type, a robust-to-noise segmentation method, called active contour, has been applied to segment the features from the image. Finally, Kalman filter has been applied to adapt the error variation. Experiment shows that performance is about to match the accuracy of manual measurement using projectors.
A Study on Development of Porous SiC Ceramic Heat Sink from Solar Wafering Slurry

In recent years, while the importance of thermal management has been emphasized due to smaller electronic products, various materials have been used as heat sink. In this study, porous ceramic heat sink was developed with SiC, successfully separated from the slurry of SiC occurring in solar energy materials industry and the thermal performance of porous SiC heat sink has been compared with those of aluminum heat sink and pure SiC heat sink through experiment. From the experimental results, it was verified that porous recycled SiC heat sink has better thermal performance than aluminum heat sink since its micropores increase the heat transfer area. In addition, the effect of the micropores on thermal performance has been quantified by increasing convective heat transfer coefficient with numerical analysis.
An experimental study on the effect of V-ring position and die chamfer shape on the die roll height in fine blanking tool

It is very important to minimize the die roll height of gear, in order to maximize the shear cutting surface(tooth surface) of fine blanking. In this paper, the fine blanking tool sets were manufactured in order to study the die roll height according to V-ring position and die chamfer shape. They were constituted of the various die inserts and guide plate inserts with different die chamfer shape and different V-ring distance. The fine blanking experiment was conducted with the fine blanking tool sets and the die roll height of the gear samples was measured. It should be noted that die roll height on the fine blanked gear increased with increasing the V-ring distance and die chamfer angle.
A Study on the Structural Analysis and Design of Avionics Equipment

This paper is about the analysis and design of avionics equipment`s housing and PCB(Printed Circuit Board) such as air data computer. Avionics equipment`s structural design as well as electrical properties is very critical and should be proved from design phase by analysis method. First, analyze the static load and vibration requirement for the installed equipment, and then proved it satisfy with its requirement using the computational structural analysis. Commercial tools were used for computation and the rib design of housing was verified and the placement of electrical component was proposed using the PCB`s local displacement information.
Effects of LT cooperative method on Underachiever`s Academic Achievement and Learning Attitudes

The purpose of this study were to identify the effect of Learning Together(LT) on underachiever`s academic achievement and learning attitudes. To solve above study purpose, the subject of this study were 20 second-grade underachiever selected from two classes of middle school. The subject classified into two group. In this study, the experimental group were participated in LT method and comparison group were participated lecture-centered instruction. Experimental period were 8 weeks. After the experimental treatment, underachiever`s academic achievement and learning attitudes carried out post-test. And the results of the data were analyzed by t-test and MANOVA. The results were as follows: A academic achievement and learning attitude of underachiever`s through LT method was significantly higher than those learning through lecture-centered instruction. Especially, a self-confidence, success-expect, attention, affection as subordinate variables of learning attitude was significantly higher than those learning through lecture-centered instruction. In conclusion, LT method effect on underachiever`s academic achievement and learning attitudes. As observed by the above results, a LT method should be an applicable to underachiever`s education program plan as an effective means of enhancing their academic achievement and learning attitudes.
A Suggestion of a Model of Needs Analysis By Using Max-Min

The purpose of this research is to suggest a model or method of needs analysis for designing syllabuses. As the learner-centered approach in teaching and learning methods becomes general, the learners` needs or wants should be reflected on the syllabus design. However, standardized scores in the previous research have disadvantages to be distorted in data interpretations because the difference between the maximum value and minimum value is so big compared to the Likert 5 scales. To solve this disadvantage, the Max-Min method is used in the needs analysis for the syllabus design. So, the differences are presented. Needs analyses need to be selected variously according to situations. Thus, further researches are needed to develop several new methods as well as the Max-Min method or the standardized score method for the whole needs analyses.
Research on University Students` Recognition of Recreation

This study speculates on the Korea`s current recreation activity via surveys on students` recognition of recreation activity. For the research, the number of 200 university students (subjects) in D metropolitan city who had attended a recreation class or program was collected as a population, among which the data of 188 subjects were used for the real analysis. The collected data were analyzed through `Frequency Anaalysis` and `Chi-square Test` using SPSS Ver. 12.0. First, `gender` was not significant in the area of students` recognitional difference according to their personal data (gender, department); on the other hand, a slight difference was found in `department`; but in general, the recreation activity was regarded as a sort of entertainment in which people gather and have fun together, and it was thought to be involved in leisure. Second, the recreational activity in students` minds was presented into school MT, orientation, athletic meeting, camping, etc. The results demonstrate that the concept of recreation in our country became considerably reduced compared to its original meaning, and a recreation leader`s authority came to be also low-valued.

The primary purpose of this paper is to identify the cognition of the convergence human resource for firms. For this purpose, Data have been collected from 110 firms in Daejeon city and studied the convergence human resource which recognized by firms on the company competitive power level. The results of this empirical studies are summarized as fellows. We classified in company competitive power as leading chaser, innovators and late chaser. In the talent, leading chasers demanded the total designer, problem solver and insighter, innovators demanded the total designer, problem solver and specialist, and late chasers demanded the traditional humanity. In technology management, all group think important fields. In the demanding forecasting for the market and technologies, leading chasers and innovators demanded the CEO, R&D researcher and a middle manager as the important position. For this education, they demanded the convergence ability of other technologies, the up-to-date abilities of product and technology and the understandings of market needs. In the convergence talent or leader, leader chaser and innovator demanded the specialist who attempted to combine others industries, who know well in technology and management, and the specialist who attempted to combine others technologies. But, late chaser demanded the specialist who attempted to combine others industries.
A Review on the Relationship between Organizational Culture and Performance

The performance of organizational culture effectiveness has been supported by several researchers. Since Peters & Waterman acclaimed that the excellent companies have their unique culture type, the effectiveness of organization culture have been practically supported. Organization culture is closely related to employees` satisfaction and commitment and contributed to the subjective performance and financial performance in terms of individual and organizational level. Organizational culture is a valuable resources and competitive advantage for the successful growth. Thefore, I have proposed some proposition regarding the type and strength of organization culture and the interaction effect of internal consistency which should be studied for more fundamental study of the effectiveness of organizational culture.
The impact of perceived executive function on the middle school students` mathematics achievement scores

Mathematics is among the most important subjects in the middle school curriculum, yet the most hated subjects by students. The present study investigated the role of perceived executive functioning on the middle school student`s mathematics achievement, after controlling for other psychological factors. Results showed that the students levels of executive functioning was predictive of their mathematics achievement test scores, even after motivational and attitude variables were controlled. The impact of the executive functioning was especially noticeable for the low achievers. On the other hand, for those whose scores were high, biological variables were the only significant predictors of their scores. The results of the present study imply that the intervention programs for improving mathematics achievement of middle school students should consider the different effect of cognitive and psychological factors on their achievements.
A study on a contingent approach of job analysis and implications

Along with the rapid change environment, many organizations have come to consider a method of job analysis for better human resource management. Researchers and practitioners recognize that it is necessary to develop a new method of job analysis, however, there are not enough empirical studies. This research aims to clarify what kind of job analysis methods are proper to develop human resources ultimately. Its specific purpose are the following. First, to study representative job analysis methods theoretically. Second, to develop methods by its goal and practical use. Third, to show a empirical study in the real development case. This paper make contribution to develop a integrated job analysis method by contingent approach.
Study on the Effects of Entrepreneurial Expectancy on Entrepreneurial Outcome and Expect Growth intentions -Comparative Study between Korea and China Entrepreneur-

In this paper, the relation model for three important entrepreneurial entities are studied based on the expectation theory for entrepreneurs. The three entrepreneurial entities include entrepreneurial expectancy, entrepreneurial outcome and expect growth intentions. In this study, the entrepreneurial expectancy is defined as the expectation about establishment, while entrepreneurial outcome and expect growth are related to entrepreneur`s dominant idea for enterprises` operation and management. Based on the investigation data via questionnaire for 489 subjects, the relation model hypothesis for the three entrepreneurial entities is tested using structural equation model analysis. According to the analysis result, arguments can be made that entrepreneurial expectancy can have a significant positive effect on realization of successful entrepreneurial activities, and entrepreneurial outcome may have a significant positive effect on realization of expect growth intentions. Therefore, a kind of mutual promotion model can be observed among the three entrepreneurial entities. In addition, the proposed relation model is applied to both Korean and Chinese entrepreneur, and their differences are compared and discussed.
An Analysis of the influence of the Editorial Elements of Portal News Section on the News User`s Choice of Articles

The editorial elements which are used in this paper are made up of news categories, photograph articles, titles of article written bold strokes and contents of article. Of these elements, only the three elements of photographic articles, the titles of article written bold strokes and contents of article had some effects on the choice of articles. For the portal news, only the news categories, the titles of article written bold strokes and the name of newspaper had an effect on the choice of articles. Of the news genres such as politics, business, social affairs, sports, culture/entertainment, world news and IT/science, only the three genres of social affairs, culture/entertainment and world news had some effects on news users` choice. For the difference between man group and woman group in analyzing the choice of articles, there was the difference in four elements of business, sports, culture/entertainment and IT/science.
Determinants of Leverage for Manufacturing Firms Listed in the KOSDAQ Stock Market

This study investigates empirical issues that have received little attention in the previous research in the Korean capital market. It is to find any financial determinants on the capital structure for the firms listed in the KOSDAQ(Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotation). Another test is performed to find any possible discriminating factors by utilizing a robust methodology, which may distinguish between the firms belonging the `prime section` and the `venture section` in terms of their financial aspects. Moreover, the null hypothesis that the changing trend or movement of a firm`s capital structure with respect to its industry mean (or median) may be random, is also tested. For the book-value based debt ratios, size(INSIZE), growth(GROWTH), Market to book value of equity(MVBV), volatility(VOLATILITY), market value of equity (MVE) and section dummy (SECTION) showed their statistically significant effects on the book-value based leverage ratios, respectively, while size(INSIZE), growth(GROWTH), market value of equity(MVE), beta(BETA) and section dummy (SECTION) showed their statistically significant effects on the market-value based leverage ratios. This study also found an interesting result that a firm belonging to each corresponding industry has a tendency for reversion toward its mean and median leverage ratios over the five-year tested period.

This research focused on the strategy formulation for the development of the innovation cluster in Gyeonggi Province - `Pankyo & Gwanggyo Technovalley`. The study was performed based on both theoretical study and quantitative & qualitative study approaches. Particularly, questionnaire survey was used for the diagnosis of the developmental stages of the innovation clusters. The major determinants for the development of the innovation cluster in Gyeonggi Province can be summarized as follows; the establishment of S&T based host institution, the gradual enlargement of the role of host institution and the enhancement of the network capability of innovation clusters. In terms of the needs of times, this study regarding the strategy for the development of the innovation clusters is anticipated to be a good reference for the R&D organizations and technology cluster participants in coming years.
A Research on the Actual Condition of the Prehospital Emergency Care and Education in 119 Emergency Medical Services

This is the study of actual condition and improvement on emergency medical treatment by 119 emergency medical service personnel. The subjects in this study were 299 emergency medical service personnel. Data were collected from May 1 to August 31 of 2010, and analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program. The major area of study of them were study of emergency medical services 41.5%, study of nursing 10.0%, fire fighting related studies 15.4%, health related studies 1.0%, and others 32.1%. The certificate of them were 1st class emergency medical technician(EMT) 38.1%, 2nd class EMT 33.8%, nurse 9.4%, first aid education 14.0%, and others 4.7%. Frequency of Prehospital emergency care, oxygen supply(274), splint apply(229), spinal immobilization(229), external bleeding control(223), medication(7), intravenous(4). Professionally trained EMT makes possible to secure high quality emergency medical treatment in the prehospital phase. Therefore, it is essential for the quality improvement of prehospital emergency care that well trained EMT ride on the ambulance together and take the responsibility for the treatment and transferring of emergency patients. In order to improve the proficiency of 119 emergency medical services personnel, it is also necessary to provide continuous job training programs for the prehospital emergency medical treatment.
The effect of antipsychotics and antidepressants on the TREK2 channel

Fluoxetine and tianeptine are commonly used as antidepressants (AD), and haloperidol and risperidone are widely used as antipsychotic drugs (APD), and it modulates various ion channels. TREK2 channel subfamily is very similar to physiological properties of TREK1 channel which can play important roles in the pathophysiology of mental disorders such as depression and schizophrenia, therefore, the pharmacological effect of psychiatric and depression drug on TREK2 channel may be similar to those of TREK1. Using the excised inside-out patch-clamp technique, we have examined the effects of APD and AD on cloned TREK2 channel expressed CHO cells. Fluoxetine (selective serotonin release inhibitor, SSRI) inhibited the TREK2 channel in a concentration-dependent manner (
), whereas selective serotonin reuptake enhancer (SSRE) tianeptine increased without reducing the TREK2 channel activity. Haloperidol also inhibited the TREK2 channel in a concentration-dependent manner (
), whereas even higher concentration (
) of risperidone did not completely inhibit on the activity. This study showed that TREK2 channel was preferentially blocked by fluoxetine rather than tianeptine, and inhibited by haloperidol rather than risperidone, suggesting differential effect of TREK2 channels by APD and AD may contribute to some mechanism of adverse side effects.

The Purpose of this study was to report magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) changes of six cases of Lumbar herniated disc which was treated with spinal decompression therapy, oriental medical therapy. `Disc heights` were measured on sagittal view of
-weighted MRI. Size of the herniated disc was measured by MRI and `disc herniations index`. The grading system and algorithm for `disc degeneration` were based on MRI signal intensity, disc structure, distinction between nucleus and anulus, and disc height. Data for disc height, disc herniations index and disc degeneration grade were collected before and after the treatment together with calculation from the MRI. Case studies were showed that decompression therapy for the herniated disc has an positive effect on disc herniations index, disc regeneration, not disc heights. The clinical evidence for the use of decompression in herniated disc remains inconclusive because of limited researches. Further trials, which give attention to these areas, are needed before any firm conclusions may be made.
A study on improvement of misdiagnosis rate in aortic regurgitation disease by physically correcting EF in 2D echo cardiography

This study is aimed at decreasing wrong diagnosis with corrected EF(Ejection Fraction) of 2D echo cardiography by analysing the physical time-resolution difference between Cine MRI and 2D echo cardiography and applying the corrected EF in 2D echocardiography. From February 2010 to December 2011, among the 110 patients who had undergone both 2D echo cardiography and cine MRI only 37 patient were selected suffering aortic valve regurgitation. ED, ES and SV were measured and EF was calculated in each system while normal ranges of Cine MRI and 2D echocardiography were compared to evauate misdiagnosis rate. The correlation of physical time resolution between 2D echocardiography and MRI was evaluated and the differences were corrected with linear regression coefficient which is derived from linear regression analysis. Blandt-Altman plot was used to evaluate the reliability of corrected 2D echo cardiography EF and compare the error among measured values. The values were compared with MRI normal range and misdiagnosis rate was measured again. As a result, misdiagnosis rates of physical time resolution were measured to be 32.4%(12people) before the correction of EF and 18.9%(7people) after the correction. Also, EF confirmed in Blandt-Altman plot were almost the same with MRI EF. In conclusion, when diagnosing aortic regurgitation disease, simply using 2D echocardiography can easily raise the misdiagnosis rates, therefore considering the MRI machine`s physical merits, correcting the time resolution difference is important by calculating time resolution wrong diagnosis would decrease and it is considered to be useful in clinical circumstances.
Comparison of Depression and Life-stress by Values in University Students

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of depression and life-stress by values in Korean university students. Data were collected by structured questionnaires form 212 students by convenient sampling methods from August to November 2011. The type of values were classified into: personal oriented values, 64.6%; social oriented values, 35.4%. There were no significant differences in depression by values. But there were significant differences in frequency of experiences and importance of life-stress by values. Also, there were significant differences for correlation between depression and life-stress by values. These results suggest that for the university student, the nursing strategies should be developed in order to improve ability to reduce life-stress and depression considering such differences by values. Especially, it is necessary to attention in management of stress and depression for students with personal oriented values.
Relationships Between Farmer`s Syndrome and Fatigue Symptoms Among Farmers in Suburban Area

This study was performed to find out the relationship between farmer`s syndrome and self-conscious fatigue symptoms in farmers of suburban area. The questionnaire was prepared to survey the socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behaviors, farming activities, farmer`s syndrome, and self-conscious fatigue symptoms of the farmers, and the survey was carried out from April 1 to June 30, 2011 by interviewing 296 farmers residing suburban area of Daejeon city. As a results, the ratio of farmers who had positive farmer`s syndrome, doubtful syndrome, and no syndrome were 34.1%, 47.6%, and 18.2%, respectively. The farmer`s syndrome was positively correlated with the self-conscious fatigue symptoms, and farmers with self-conscious fatigue symptoms in high risk group were at higher risk of having farmer`s syndrome. The results of hierarchic multiple regression analysis indicated that sex, education, health, and self-conscious fatigue symptom were correlated with the farmer`s syndrome. Among the affective factors variables, independently self-conscious fatigue symptom was the most influential. As a conclusion, the occurrence of farmer`s syndrome was influenced by the socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behaviors, and self-conscious fatigue symptoms of the farmers. Especially, self-conscious fatigue symptom was independently influenced the occurrence of farmer`s syndrome.
Digit ratio(2D:4D) and gender role orientation in health and medical students

The ratio of index finger length to ring finger length(2D:4D) is an index of prenatal testosterone and/or estrogen exposure. The aim of this study is to investigate digit ratio and the type of gender-role orientation, to identify the correlation between 2D:4D and gender-role orientation in health and medical students. Participants were 120 male and 146 female university students majoring in health or medicine. After filling in KSRI(Korean Sex Role Inventory), 2nd and 4th finger lengths were measured on both hands using vernier callipers with photocopy. This study showed 2D:4D in the males was 0.95, and that in the females was 0.96 (p<0.01). 38.3% male students revealed androgyny, on the other hand, 35.6% female students revealed undifferentiated type from KSRI. And also, there was a significant difference in masculinity score between male and female but not in feminity score. There was no significant difference in 2D:4D according gender role orientation. The KSRI masculinity score was negatively related to 2D:4D of left hand in male (p<0.05). The results of this study suggest that a more masculine gender role orientation in males is associated with low 2D:4D revealing higher testosterone and/or lower estrogen level in utero. However, more research in 2D:4D ratio to Korean is needed for support of this result.

This study was designed to measure the difference in health-related quality of life (HRQOL) among social classes and explore the factors that may explain it. Study subjects were 7,992 Korean adults aged 20-69 from the 4th (2007-2009) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys data. We described mean value of EQ-5D index as a HRQOL by class and performed hierarchical multiple regression analysis to find the factors. The result was as follows. In the distribution of EQ-5D index level among social classes, new middle class (class II) had the highest score (0.966 in men and 0.955 in women); upper and middle-upper class (class I) 0.965 in men and 0.936 in women; working class (class IV) 0.958 in men and 0.936 in women; old middle class (class III) 0.955 in men and 0.932 in women; low class (class VI) 0.941 in men and 0.908 in women; and rural self-management class (class V) the lowest score (0.918 in men and 0.866 in women). In men, chronic disease, job stress, education and income level were found to make the difference in the health-related quality of life among social classes; in women, those factors and health behavior explained the difference. In conclusion, the lower social class has lower HRQOL. Except for education and income level, chronic disease may be the major factor to explain the difference in the health-related quality of life among social classes.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of different sitting postures on range of motion, strength and proprioceptive sense of neck. Fifteen healthy university students participated in the study. Depending on upright sitting position and slump sitting position, range of motion and joint position sense were measured by using Dualer IQ. Also, the maximum isometric strength and force sense were measured by using linear force. As a result, we found that the maximum angle of neck extension and the maximum isometric strength at flexion were significantly higher in upright posture than in slump posture. Also, the maximum angle of neck flexion and the maximum isometric strength at extension were higher in slump posture than in upright posture. According to the result, proper proprioception can have an beneficial effect on postural revision of neck and body by providing the information that cognize the position of head through and sustain upright posture.
Associations of Serum Lipid Profiles with Incidence of Ischemic Heart Diseases in Korean Adults: Retrospective Cohort Study

This study conducted to investigate incidence rate and association of serum lipid profiles with incidence of ischemic heart disease. Study subjects consisted of 417,642 adults aged 30 years and over, who underwent physical examination and responded to questionnaire from health examination center of 19 university general hospitals. Hazard ratio of risk factor for ischemic heart disease (IHD) were calculated by Cox`s proportional hazard regression model adjusted for ages, BMI and lifestyle (drinking, smoking and exercising). For TC/HDL ratio, hazard ratio of IHD in male increased from 1.21 times to 1.84 times increase with TC/HDL ratio, and that in female also increased from 1.26 times to 1.86 times. For TG/HDL ratio, hazard ratio of IHD in male increased from 1.17 times to 1.49 times increase with TG/HDL ratio, and that in female also increased from 1.42 times to 1.97 times. For LDL/HDL ratio, hazard ratio of IHD in male increased from 1.26 times to 1.82 times increase with LDL/HDL ratio, and that in female also increased from 1.26 times to 1.68 times. In conclusion serum lipid indexes are the significant risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. The higher the concentration of TC, LDL and TG is, the lower the concentration of HDL is, hazard ratio for IHD increased. Ratio of TC/HDL, TG/HDL and LDL/HDL were also verified to be significant risk factors for IHD.

This study compared the unweighted sample design, frequency weighted sample design and complex sample design to using 2009 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in an effort to identify whether or not there is any difference in potential risk factors. Pearson chi-square test and Rao-scott chi-square test were applied to the analytic methods. As a result of analyses, all the variables were overestimated as significant risk factors in case of the unweighted sample design to which only the frequency weights were applied. In addition, there were differences in the confidence levels and results from the simple random sampling analysis and complex sample design to which no weight was applied. It is necessary to carry out the complex sample design rather than the analysis to which the frequency weights are applied, in order to ensure the findings to represent the whole population when our national statistics data is used.

This study was analyzed the 119 rescuers` image of citizens to provide a fundamental material to improve 119 rescuers` image effectively. This research design was a descriptive study. Data were collected from November 9, 2011 to December 9, 2011, and analyzed by SPSS PASW statistics 18.0 program. value was 0.120. The model fit 12.0%. Occupation (students, housewives and office workers) and those who completed emergency first response education were showed a positive image of 119 rescuers. There is a need to compare and analyze the image of 119 rescuers in accordance with whether or not 119 emergency service is received and the satisfaction with the emergency service under the control of the general characteristics(sex, age, occupation, economic level, etc.) of subjects.

The Effects of a Thyroid Shield Made of a Tissue-Equivalent Material on the Reduction of the Thyroid Exposure Dose in Panoramic Radiography

Exposure-dose reducing effect was measured by using bolus, a tissue-equivalent material as a shield to obtain useful diagnostic images while minimizing the radiation exposure of thyroid which is highly sensitive to radiation during panoramic radiography. The experiment was performed within the period of 1 June 2001 through 30 June 2011 by measuring entrance surface dose and deep dose at the thyroid-corresponding site of a head and neck phantom. As a result, the entrance surface dose in the thyroid for using no shield was 43.84
on the average, and the thyroid shield of bolus 10 mm in thickness reduced the dose by 15.45
(35.24%) to 28.39
on the average. The use of a 20 mm thyroid shield resulted in the dose of 25.38
on the average, a 18.46
(42.10%) drop from 43.84
for using no shield. On the site 20 mm below the surface, a thyroid shield 10 mm in thickness had no dose-reducing effect, while a 20 mm thyroid shield reduced the dose by 0.06 mSv(20%).

This study is about atherosclerosis which occupies the highest rate in many diseases people have and we have studied about atherosclerosis for abdominal aorta. Atherosclerosis is the phenomenon which blood vessel gets narrower, harder and thicker due to the stenosis of colesterol in blood vessel. If it becomes worse, arteries will be hard and blood can`t flow smoothly, and even it can reach to death. In this study, the geometric models of the considered stenotic blood flow are two different types of constriction of cross-sectional area of blood vessel; 20 and 45% of constriction in each elastic wall and rigid wall. We have modeled by using finite element method to observe the changes of velocity and pressure. In case of the diameter of blood vessel decreased 45% in elastic wall model, the values of velocity and pressure were higher than the case of 20% and in case of the diameter of blood vessel decreased 45% in rigid wall model, the values of velocity and pressure were higher than the case of 20%. In cases of elastic wall models of the diameters of blood vessels decreased each of 20% and 45%, recirculation zones appeared. This results show understanding of hemodynamic properties depending on stenosed blood vessels.

X-ray fluorescence spectrum analysis method can be applied in many areas, including concentration analysis of RoHS elements and heavy metals etc. and we can get analysis results in a relatively short time. Because X-ray fluorescence spectrum has noises and several artifacts that lowers the accuracy of the analysis. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the noise of the X-ray fluorescence spectrum to increase the accuracy of analysis. X-ray fluorescence spectrum have the characteristics of shot noise (Poisson noise), so the noise size is relatively large in the small signal portion and the noise the size is relatively small in the large part of the signal. Existing methods of analysis and to remove noises is a method for general purposes algorithm. Since these algorithm does not reflect these noise characteristics, we get distorted analysis result. We can design efficient noise remove algorithm based on the accurate noise analysis method, and we expect high accuracy results of the elemental concentration analysis result.
A Study on the State of Fashion Marketing Using the SNS -Focused on the Facebook-

Rapid evolutions in recent years related to IT (information technology) which has been exceedingly developed make it possible to utilize its application in broad fields as providing a convenient way to gather and to reuse information. As smart phones have been sporadic nowadays which boost increase of SNS in real-time making more dynamic, it is becoming more worthful as a marketing tool in the field of fashion area. In this study, we have explored some case studies in which they are actively using Facebook. We have selected 10 fashion brands to compare their activities in boards containing `notice`, `like this`, `people talking about this` and `event`. We also conduct the correlation analysis between the indicators above, using Spearman`s rank correlation coefficient. As a consequence, we can confirm that `notice` highly correlates with `like this`, but we cannot find any other correlations between the other factors. As a reasult, marketing in Facebook is more efficient communication way between the companies and customers than using other current mass media, it shows that SNS in fashion marketing could be an innovative solution to overcome current limitations caused probably by lack of communications.

With the widely applications of tactical radio networks, end-to-end secure speech communication in the heterogeneous network has become a very significant security issue. High-grade end-to-end speech security can be achieved using encryption algorithms at user ends. However, the use of encryption techniques results in a problem that encrypted speech data cannot be directly transmitted over heterogeneous tactical networks. That is, the decryption and re-encryption process must be fulfilled at the gateway between two different networks. In this paper, in order to solve this problem and to achieve optimal end-to-end speech security for heterogeneous tactical environments, we propose a novel mechanism for end-to-end secure speech transmission over ultra high frequency (UHF) and public switched telephone network (PSTN) and evaluate against the performance of conventional mechanism. Our proposed mechanism has advantages of no decryption and re-encryption at the gateway, no processing delay at the gateway, and good inter-operability over UHF and PSTN.
Design of A Asymmetric Branch Line Coupler Using Artificial Dielectric Substrate

In this paper, the design of asymmetric branch line couplers using artificial dielectric substrate (ADS) is described. The effective permittivity and permeability increase in ADS because of the lots of the inserted via-holes. So the physical length and width of transmission lines realized on ADS are reduced compared to the standard lines. This enables one to design size-reduced microwave circuits. As an instance in this work, an asymmetric branch line coupler with the ratio of 3:1 is designed at 2GHz. The designed coupler has a small size of 53.4% compared to the normal circuit while the same performances are preserved. A good agreement between the simulated and measured asymmetric power dividing ratio is shown. The measured loss is only less than 0.2dB, which is a very small value.
Planar Square-spiral Antenna using a strip conductor

Planar square-spiral antenna using a strip conductor is proposed and analyzed for RFID system in UHF band operating from 860MHz to 960MHz. By varying the length of common line, detached distance, strip line-space, strip line-width and the number of spiral turn, the optimized antenna are designed and fabricated in compact size without a matching-stub between the input port of the proposed antenna and RFID tag chip. From the optimized results, the frequency bandwidth in VSWR<2 has covered 100MHz in the RFID UHF band. The antenna gain has obtained 3.5dBi at the center frequency of 910MHz and the desired beam pattern has shown directional pattern on elevation and azimuth angle. Therefore, the proposed antenna is suitable for practical RFID applications requiring various tag chips with the specific input impedance.
Decision Feedback Algorithms based on Information Potential of Constant Modulus Errors

In this paper, a blind decision feedback algorithm is proposed based on the ideas that the derivative of information potential for constant modulus errors stays relatively undisturbed even when large output differences are induced by severe channel distortions and this property can prevent the error propagation that is one of the main problems in decision feedback structures. From the simulation results of the steady state MSE, the proposed blind equalizer algorithm with decision feedback has yielded about 3 dB performance enhancement in the channel model without spectrum nulls and above 9 dB in severe channel characteristics with spectrum nulls.

According to the size of mobile applications has been expanded, the coupling of among mobile applications or servers also will be growing. The growth of mobile application`s size means that predicting design for variability should be involved. If mobile application`s change is occurred, application should be reinstalled totally. However this reinstallation can raise side-effects in case of high-coupling applications. Therefore, this paper proposes a technique of designing variability for mobile applications in android platform. Proposed technique is separated into selection technique and plug-in technique.
An Alternating Equalizer with Differential Adjustment Based on Symbol Decisions by Soft/Hard Decision

In this paper, a new alternating equalizer and its differential adjustment algorithm are proposed. The proposed alternating equalizer achieves equalization effectively using an algorithm performing symbol decisions based on soft/hard decision. In addition, it is possible to improve the initial blind convergence speed and steady-state error performance simultaneously by adjusting the equalizer differentially according to the relative reliability of the symbol decisions by soft/hard decision devices. The simulation results on 16/64-QAM constellations under multipath propagation channel and additive noise conditions confirmed to support usefulness of the proposed method.
Quality Evaluation Method of Open Source Software

Today, the use of the open source software is rapidly increasing. But, it is also true that the quality aspect of the open source software is not being considered seriously enough. As we see, the future prospect of the open source software seems to demand the development of a set of quality assessment technology for the open source software due to the current status of quality problems and sustained growth in its usage. Therefore, in this study a set of open source assessment models are analyzed to establish evaluation criteria, with which the open source software are to be evaluated.
A Study on the Characteristics of Architectural Museum Based on Functional Configuration

Architecture is widely regarded as one of important fields representing their own culture. In most cities of our nation, there has been the tendencies of negligence in keeping its record properly to be used. So, the purpose of this study is to collect the basic informations and analyse them to develop the appropriate programs for us. This study aims to offer fundamental characteristics of functional configurations in architectural museums through comparative analysis between korean and foreign museums. In so doing, it deals with the relationship between identity of museum policy and its spatial program such as archiving center, exhibition center and communication-research center. For the prove of such relationship this study attempt to compare multiple cases such as MAXXI, Nai etc. Finally this study propose that, in considering the establishment of a new architectural museum, the space program should be considered as a continuous changing process in order to make the museum as a cultural multi-complex.
FEM Analysis of Controlled Low Strength Materials for Underground Facility with Bottom Ash

In this research, finite element method was carried out to evaluate the defomation of pipe and surface displacement for backfill of underground ficility. Various conditions for analysis were employer, including two different pipes(PE and concrete pipe), two different excavation depth(60cm and 150cm) and width(1.5D and 2D), a regular sand backfill, and four different flowable backfills. The vertical deformation of 60 cm diameter for PE was measured three times more than that of 30 cm diameter. The measured deformations for regular backfill and four flowable backfills were 0.320mm, and 0.135mm to 0.155mm, respectively. It ratio was around 40%. In case of 30cm diameter of concrete pipe, the measured vertical defomation was around 0.004mm for all the backfill materials. In case of installation depth, the effect of flowable backfill for flexible pipe is better than for rigid pipe. There is little effect on the deformation of concrete pipe with regular sand backfill and flowable backfill.
Evacuation Behaviors under the Corridor and Stair Width Variations in Evacuation Experiments

The aims of this study are to verify the effecting factors in evacuation behavior under the corridor and stair width variation in evacuation experiments at university education facilities. To achieve these purposes, the present conditions of university education facilities were analyzed, and the evacuation experiment settings were established under different width of corridor and stairs. After the experiments, we asked the effecting variables to the evacuation behaviors under the variation of corridor, stair width and density of evacuee. The results of this study are as follows ; First, we found 3 main factors which affecting the evacuation behaviors ; environmental factors on building conditions, psychological factors on evacuee`s characteristics and personal factors on evacuee`s physical conditions. Second, the environmental factors such as the location of stairs for evacuation, recognition of wayfinding in fire condition are mainly affects the evacuation behaviors, but evacuee behaviors have little relations with fire extinguishing facilities and personality.
Comparison of the Lateral Earth Pressure on the Retaining Wall with the Relieving Platform by Model test and Numerical Analysis

The retaining wall with the relieving platform can be constructed as an alternative to the concrete retaining wall in which the economic and stability are decreased as height increases. The relieving platform has the advantage of decreasing the total lateral earth pressure on the retaining wall and increasing the overall stability of the structure. In this study, model tests were performed to determine the distribution of the earth pressure on the retaining wall with and without the relieving platform which located at a depth of 0.4H from the ground surface. And model tests results were compared with analyzed results by 2-D finite element method and values driven from theoretical equation. As the result of this study, comparing model test results with those of numerical analysis and theoretical equation show that the reduction of the lateral earth pressure on wall was indicated clearly on the retaining wall with a relieving platform.
Monitoring about Crustal Deformation by Earthquake in the East of Japan

Monitoring of crustal movement by earthquake is an important line of study in geophysics and geodesy. In this Study, before and after the earthquake data about nine IGS permanent stations were processed by Precise Positioning System to analysis the influence area about Japanese earthquake in March 11 at 2:46pm. As the result of crustal deformation monitoring, the quantitative earthquake displacement and change of crustal movement was presented. Crustal movement monitoring using continuous GPS data processing is necessary for crustal research and predicting earthquake because crustal movement assumed a new aspect before and after the earthquake in Japan.
A Parametric Study for Bending Behavior of Perfobond FRP-Concrete Composite Beam

In recent years, the use of hybrid fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)-concrete members with a dual purpose of both formwork and reinforcement, has been considered in some structures and has been applied in a small number of bridge decks. Numerical simulations of the beam failure tests were performed using nonlinear finite element program and a parametric study was performed with variables of perfobond shape. The ultimate strength was increased with perfobond shape because of dowel action. It was showed a good performance in case of approximately perforate diameter 25~35mm in this case.
Simplified Application of Load Transfer Method

Finite number of pile elements are considered in load transfer method. And section force and movement of each pile element are computed by considering compatibilities between pile displacement and the load transfer along a pile and between displacement and resistance at the tip of the pile. For the conventional load transfer method, large amount of computations due to iterations are needed. Formulation of finite difference equation from the differential equation which depicts pile behavior under axial loading was accomplished in order to simplify the computation for obtaining pile section forces and displacements. By comparing the results between the simplified computation method and the reported data, there was no difference between the two results.

It was considered that the reaction mechanism of the multi-functional fluoropolymer with HMDI might not be changed by the catalyst, however, the reaction rate became extremely faster upto to 100 times, showing the change of activation energy 81.8 kJ/mol for non-catalytic system to 61.7 kJ/mol for 1 phr catalytic system.
Optimal Operation Control for Energy Saving in Water Reuse Pumping System

This paper presents an optimal operation control method for energy saving in the water reuse pumping system. A predictive horizon switching strategy is proposed to implement an optimal operation control and a linear programming (LP) algorithm is used to solve optimal problems in each time step. Energy costs are calculated for electricity on both TOU in the light, heavy, and maximum load time period and peak charges. The optimal operation in water reuse pumping systems is determined to reduce the TOU and peak costs. The simulation results show a power energy saving for water reuse pumping systems and power stability improvement.
