Integrity Evaluation for 3D Cracked Structures(I)

Three Dimensional finite element method (FEM) was used to obtain the stress intensity factor for subsurface cracks and surface cracks existing in inhomogeneous materials. A geometry model, i.e. a solid containing one or several 3D cracks is defined. Several distributions of local node density are chosen, and then automatically superposed on one another over the geometry model. Nodes are generated by the bubble packing, and ten-noded quadratic tetrahedral solid elements are generated by the Delaunay triangulation techniques. To examine accuracy and efficiency of the present system, the stress intensity factor for a semi-elliptical surface crack in a plate subjected to uniform tension is calculated, and compared with Raju-Newman`s solutions. Then the system is applied to analyze interaction effects of two dissimilar semi-elliptical cracks in a plate subjected to uniform tension.
A Study on the Computational Design and Analysis of a Die Bonder for LED Chip Fabrication

In LED chip packaging, die bonding is a very important process which fixes the LED chip on the lead frame to provide enough strength for the next process. Conventional pick-up device of the die bonder is simply operated by up and down motion of a collet and an ejector pin. However, this method may cause undesired problems such as position misalignment and/or severe die damage when the pick-up device reaches the die. In this study, to minimize the position alignment error and die damage, a die bonder is developed by adopting a new pick-up head for precise alignment and high speed feeding. To evaluate structural stability of the designed system, required finite element model of the die bonder is generated, and structural analysis is performed. Vibration analysis of the pick-up head is also performed using developed finite element model at operation frequency range. As a result of the analysis, deformation, stress, and natural frequency of the die bonder are investigated.
Heating and Cooling Energy Demand Analysis of Standard Rural House Models

The annual energy demand of the standard rural house models was analyzed using the DesignBuilder. Indoor temperature set-point, U-value of outer wall, type of window, and degree of ventilation were selected as simulation parameters. In all the simulation cases, heating energy demand was higher than cooling energy demand regardless of the building size. When the lower U-value of the outer wall was applied to account for the thicker insulation layer, heating energy demand was decreased while cooling energy demand was increased. However, it is better to reduce the area of outer wall which is directly exposed to outdoor air because reducing the U-value of the outer wall is not effective in decreasing heating energy demand. Among the four different window types, the double skin window is most favorable because heating energy demand is the lowest. For a fixed infiltration rate, higher ventilation rate resulted in an increased heating energy demand and had minor impact on cooling energy demand. As long as the indoor air quality is acceptable, lower ventilation rate is favorable to reduce the annual energy demand.
A Study on the Fabrication of Fe Based Alloy Powder for Laser Welding

In this study, Fe-base alloy powder was prepared by gas atomizing method. Shape and crystal structure of the powder were investigated by FESEM, X-ray diffraction, and DSC. The powder was produced in a spherical shape, with a size of 45 ~ 90
. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the powder was fully amorphous, showing typical broad amorphous peak. From DSC analysis, Tg and Tx that are generally found in a bulk amorphous alloy were also observed in the alloy powder. Tg and Tx of the powder were
, respectively. These results suggest us that the bulk amorphous alloy (BMG) powder prepared in this study is applicable to laser welding.
Simulation Software for Semiconductor Photolithography Equipment: TrackSim

This paper describes the development of the TrackSim, which is a discrete event simulation tool for photolithography equipment of semiconductor industry. The TrackSim is focused on the accurate simulation model of the photolithography equipment and easy-to-use user interfaces. TrackSim provides 3D simulation environment for evaluating, validating, and scheduling the photolithography process. One of the major characteristics of TrackSim is in that it is developed based on Applied Materials` AutoMod, a discrete event simulation software broadly used in semiconductor industry. Accordingly, the photolithography model of TrackSim can be used to perform simulation connected with other simulation models built with AutoMod.
A Development of Effective Educational Simulator for Electronic Control System of Automobile Chassis

In this paper, an educational simulator of automobile chassis electronic control system was developed. The developed system is composed of three parts, a driving condition control & monitoring system, a chassis electronic system monitoring & analysis system, and a virtual simulator & educational multimedia contents. The driving condition control & monitoring system has a commercial real car simulator, hydraulic equipments for representing driving conditions, and a remote control and monitoring system. In the chassis electronic system monitoring & analysis system, information of various sensors and actuators applied to the system can be monitored by Labview programs. Finally, the suggested virtual simulator and the multimedia with 2D Flash and 3D animations can be used effectively by means of teaching materials.
Optimization of Flask Fixtures for Marine Propellers Castings

This work has been performed to evaluate the strength of fixtures, which were attached to outer surface of propeller flask to prevent transient movement during filling and cooling stages at Ni-Al-Bronze casting of large marine propellers. Experimental work was carried out to evaluate forces exerted on flask fixtures by measuring strain changes of fixtures due to thermal expansion and contraction during casting processes. Numerical analyses were also made to verify the experimental results and finally to evaluate the validity of arrangement of flask fixtures for casting of marine propellers.
Solar Power Generation System Using A Small-Sized Stirling Engine

To evaluate solar energy conversion efficiency of a solar power generation system that consists of a dish-type solar receiver in the combination with a Stirling engine, a solar power generation system using a small-sized Stirling engine was developed in this study, and preliminary experiments were carried out. The total capital fee was around five hundred thousand Won, and the developed system was found to produce an electricity of 0.56 kWh corresponding to 10% in the energy conversion efficiency. The better design of the system is expected to improve the system efficiency, and the experimental data obtained in this study will be used for other various applications associated with solar power generation.
Analysis of Dynamics Characteristics of an Underwater Platform System

In this study, simulation of an underwater platform system which is able to perform the underwater test is implemented to predict its dynamic characteristics. Accordingly, its governing equations are derived to construct the mathematical model. From the proposed model, the time in flooding and the pressure of ballast tank in blowing air to come up are predicted. In addition, simulation of the stability of the system for repulsive force of the tube by compressed air is carried out. Their results will be used to select valves, air tanks as well as design the system including ballast tanks. And they will help users operate it efficiently.
Structural Analysis of Synthetic Heat Transfer Fluid Boiler

In this paper, 3-dimensional designing program CATIA was used to design in order to investigate causes of a fire in a boiler using synthetic heat transfer fluid. And also structural analysis was conducted to the boiler by using 3-dimensional finite element code, ANSYS. Maximum temperature, maximum stress, and maximum strain were obtained at the normal condition and after fire.
Scheduling of Die Casting Processes Considering Power Usage

This paper presents a scheduling scheme for die casting processes considering power usage. The scheduling problem of a shift-based die casting process is represented by a linear programming (LP) model that maximizes the average efficiency of melting furnaces in regard of the usage of molten alloy, where the product quantities of each shift are used as primary variables. In this research, we propose a novel LP model that considers power usage of foundries. The developed LP model can derive product plans in which the expended power of a casting shift does not exceed a prescribed limit, while optimizing the efficiency of alloy usage. The simulation result of a case study demonstrates the superiority and applicability of the proposed scheme. This paper serves as a basic research on the role of foundries as an intelligent costumer in smart grid environment where the limit of power usage should be fulfilled.

Bix Beiderbecke is a cornet player known as the first white jazz musician with white sound. In this study, we will see the similarity between his originality in black jazz field and `Stream of consciousness` in 20th century`s english literature. It is hard to verify how these two arts affect each other, and it is also very interesting to see the resemblance between jazz and the literature in their forms of expression. Especially, a jazz artist should have common understanding with english literature in the way of the expression, we are to pay more attention to the different form of the artistic works and study more about them to express in our way.

This paper finds the selecting evaluation index of technical development supporting business, applied to determine its validity. Measuring the new evaluation index for selection against the existing select evaluation index, it shows which index has accurately estimated the ranking of the companies with good performance. This research is to find out the method appropriate for the forecasting of passennger demand using seasonal ARIMA model and efficient operation in Jeju National Airport. Time series monthly data for the investigation were collected ranging from January 2003 to December 2011. A total of 108 observations were used for data analysis. Research findings showed that the multiplicative seasonal ARIMA(0.1.2)(0.1.1)12 model is appropriate model. The number of passengers in Jeju National Airport will continue to rise, it was expected to surpass 20 million people.

Based on the case study methods, the study analyzes emergence and ensuing typology of global ebook platforms such as Google eBook, Amazon Kindle, iBooks Store. Global ebook platforms show adaptation process responding to rapidly changing digital technological envirment and it`s fitness landscape. The critical elements in its emerging process are the distinct selection criteria, the degree of resource abundance and the search process based on open innovation. Based on these critical elements, the global platforms show speciation process, so called niche creation and are evolving into a variety of the typology based on the initial condition of key resource which makes the platform emerge and grow. Each global ebook platforms is evolving into open platform, hybrid platform, closed platform. Google eBook has openness and extensibility due to a variety of devices based on Android and a direct involvement of actors. Amazon Kindle has developed from a online bookstore and into the hybrid platform which have not only closed quality but also openness with ebook devices and mobile network. iBooks Store has developed into the closed platform through the agency model based on competitive hardwares and closed quality with iphone and ipad.

Empirical Analysis on Agent Costs against Ownership Structure in Accordance with Verification of Suitability of the Model

This study aims to determine how ownership structure (share-holding ratio of insiders, foreigners) affects agent costs (the portion of asset efficiency or non-operating expenses) through empirical analysis. However, as existing studies on correlations between ownership structure and agent costs adopted Pooled OLS Model, this study focused on additionally formulating Fixed Effect Model and Random Effect Model aimed to reflect the time of data formation and corporate effects as study models based on verification results on the suitability of Pooled-OLS Model before comparative analysis for the purpose of improvement of credibility and statistical validity of the results of empirical analysis based on the premise that the Pooled OLS Model is not reliable enough to verify massive panel data. The data has been accumulated over 10 years from 1998 to 2007 after the IMF crisis hit the nation, from a subject 331 companies except for financial institutions. As a result of the empirical analysis, verification of the suitability of model has determined that the Random Effect Model is appropriate in terms of asset efficiency among agent costs items. On the other hand, the Fixed Effect Model is appropriate in terms of non-operating costs. As a result of the empirical analysis according to the appropriate model, no hypothesis adopted in the Pooled OLS Model has been accepted. This suggests that developing an appropriate model is more important than other factors for the purpose of generating statistically significant empirical results by showing that different empirical results are produced according to the type of empirical analysis.
The Effect of Career Self-efficacy on Preparations Toward Retirement for Baby Boomer Generation

Beginning with retirement in 2010 of the leading group of baby boomer generation born in 1955, baby boomers are starting to retire from work in full-scale. Since retirement of baby boomers refers to increase in the senior class with longer life expectancies caused by development of medical technologies, enhancement of living standards, and improvement of surrounding environments, annually decreasing birthrate is further accelerating entry of our society into an aged society. Accordingly to examine baby boomer generation`s preparation for retirement in relation to career self-efficacy, first, difference in retirement preparation according to mean monthly income and current occupation was analyzed. Second, the effect of career self-efficacy on retirement preparation was studied. The survey for this study was conducted for one month between January 17 and February 16, 2012 in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungnam, Gyeongnam, Jeonnam, and Jeju. 500 surveys were distributed to baby boomer generations through direct visit and mail, among which 443 responses were returned. 400 effective responses were selected as subjects of the study. As a result, preparation for retirement according to mean monthly income was verified to be significant in terms of economic and physical factors. Significant results were shown in all factors including economic, physical and social factors for retirement preparation according to current occupation. Career self-efficacy had greatest influence of 58% on retirement preparation with economic factors. It also influenced all factors including self assessment, objective setting, occupational information, and problem solving.
An influence of a Sense of Classroom Community and Social Presence on Learning Satisfaction in a Cyber Learning Setting

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a sense of classroom community and social presence on learning satisfaction in a cyber learning setting. The subjects in this study were 172 sixth graders in M elementary school in the city of D, who studied in a cyber setting at home. A survey was conducted to gather data, and multiple regression analysis were carried out to determine the influence of a sense of classroom community and social presence on learning satisfaction. As a result, it is found that a sense of classroom community and social presence had a significant correlation to learning satisfaction. A sense of classroom community turned out to affect learning satisfaction. A sense of classroom community are a major variable that should seriously be taken into account in an elementary cyber learning setting in order to boost the learning satisfaction of learners. In the future, the kinds of instructional design that could foster a sense of classroom community is required when cyber learning environments are prepared.
Legibility Evaluation of Two and Three Syllable Words Used in Pesticides According to Font, Thickness, Gender, and Visual Acuity

Safety and health related information for the proper use and handing of pesticides is usually printed on the surface of the pesticide products in the form of texts. But, the guidelines or standards for the appropriate presentation of the texts for the pesticide products are most vague or not practical. Thus, this study aimed to provide the preliminary guidelines for the text sizes based on the legibility experiments. To achieve the objective legibility evaluation experiments were conducted to test the effects of different near vision (0.6,
), gender, font type(thick gothic-type and fine gothic-type), thickness of font(plain and bold), and number of syllables(2 and 3 syllables) in the same age group of 20s. The results showed that legibility was different according to the visual acuity (p<0.05), and no other main effects showed statistically significant effects. The `maximum illegible size` to read at least one word correctly in all the text conditions was 2 pt when the near vision was
, and 2 pt or 3 pt when the near vision was 0.6. The `minimum legible size` for 100% correct answer was 9 pt for the near vision of 0.6, and 5.3 pt for
, respectively. Mean character size does not read any discomfort in 0.6 was 15.5 pt in both male and female but male was mean 8.5 pt, female was 10 pt in
. Considering these experimental results, it was recommended that the 16 pt or larger characters should be used the important information such as `Pesticides` or toxicity, and the minimum character size was 9 pt for the less important information.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships on participation on health education program toward skin care and the improvement of healthy life habit. The subject of the study was selected by multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling among the skin care education center to learn health education program toward skin care among women in the Seoul and Kyunggi area. The data were collected through a questionnaire adapted from Payne and Hahn`s(1986) `Understanding Your Health-A personal profile; Evaluating Your Health`. The pilot test was executed after the questionnaire was translated into Korean. The statistics employed the study were validity and reliability test,
verification, frequency, ANOVA, multiple classification analysis, ANCOVA and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results that were derived from these processes were as follows: First, before and after on health education program toward skin care, the student`s healthy life habit is partially changed. Second, the relationship the period of education program and the characteristic healthy life habit, long-term skin care education is positively affected sleeping habit, anti-stress treatment, exercise and nutrition. Third, the relationship on the frequency of education program and the characteristic healthy life habit, more frequently participation on skin care education is positively affected on healthy life habit and exercise.
What Factors Affect on the Job Involvement of S/W Development Workers in the Small and Medium IT Enterprises

The purpose of this paper is to find the factors that affect on the job involvement of S/W developer in the small and medium IT companies. We suggested structural model with two mediating variables, role conflicts and attitude of workers. The model considered job competency(job knowledge, technological competences, and communication skill) as independent variables which affect on the mediating variables directly and final dependent variable indirectly. The hypotheses tests showed that the job knowledge affected negatively on the role conflicts as the hypothesis assumed, but technological competences affected positively(reserve direction) on the role conflicts. This finding means that the more he/she has good job skill and technologies, the more does he required to do many things in the organization. The results of path analysis showed that attitude of workers mediated between the role conflicts and job involvement significantly. We concluded that although the workers are suffered from the role conflicts, it could be mitigated by their job knowledge and the favorite attitude toward their job, and finally they could more involve in their job.
A Study on the Performance Standard of Surveying Equipments for Cadastral Re-survey Project

In this study, for cadastral surveying specified in current relevant legislation, regulations of allowable error tolerance and applicable equipments, accuracy in the relevant regulations and applicable regulations were comprehensively studied. Based on them, the objective was to develop performance standard for cadastral surveying equipments satisfying allowable error tolerance of cadastral surveying specified in the special law for cadastral re-survey. The study results are as follows. By comparing current legislation for performance and allowable error tolerance of applicable equipments with provisions of the special law for cadastral re-survey, analyzed were where performance of equipments needs to be improved on cadastral re-survey project. Based on them, as primary control point surveying and detail surveying were separated, performance standard of equipments were presented. Results of this study may be utilized as basic materials for supply and demand program of surveying equipments on establishment of the basic plan for cadastral re-survey project.

This research focused on the cluster analysis for the vitalization of the innovation cluster, Gwanggyo Technovalley. The study was performed based on both theoretical study and quantitative and qualitative study approaches. Particularly, questionnaire survey was performed for the cluster analysis of the innovation cluster. The major determinants for vitalization of the innovation cluster, Gwanggyo Technovalley can be summarized as follows; the strategy formulation for the development of the innovation cluster, the enhancement of the host institution capability and gradual enlargement of the role of the host institution. In terms of the needs of times, this study regarding the cluster analysis for the vitalization of the innovation cluster, Gwanggyo Technovalley is anticipated to be a good reference for the R&D organizations and technology cluster participants in coming years.

The purpose of this study was to examine the variables of success in the national dental hygienist licence examination at D college. The subjects in this study were 120 dental hygiene juniors at D college located in Gangwon Province. The collected data were analyzed by the statistical package SPSS WIN 13.0 and a R2.13.2 program, and
(Chi-square) test, regression analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and logistic regression analysis were utilized. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. There was a tendency that the pass rate was higher among the students who were more satisfied with their major, whose academic standing was higher and who scored higher in trial examinations. 2. There was a positive correlation between academic standing and trial exam scores. 3. When their academic standing and satisfaction level with major were the same, an increase of one point in trial exams led to a 1.141-fold rise in the probability of passing the national exam. In this study, trial exam scores were identified as the variable to exert the largest influence on success in the national dental hygienist qualification exam. Therefore more intensive guidance should be provided for students who make a preparation for the national exam yet score low in trial exams.

The purpose of this research was to investigate nursing students` attitude toward body weight control, food behaviors according to their recognition, satisfaction on body image and Body Mass Index(BMI). The subjects were 273 nursing students. A survey was conducted using a self administered questionnaire. The data were an analyzed by a SPSS program. The majority of the surveyed participants were normal range for body mass index(BMI). Most of nursing students preferred a thin body image and were not satisfied with their body image. Most also controlled their body weight for appearance by exercising and the other efforts to change the body weight. From the above results, it is considered that nursing students need to establish proper self-recognition and dietary behaviors for their body images and counseling for desirable body weight control methods.

The purpose of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of health behaviors, health status, and health care utilization by the homeland of the internationally married women immigrants living in Korea. The subjects of this study were 171 married women immigrants who are registered at 7 multicultural centers in Chungbuk province. The study was conducted from September 2010 to November 2010 by surveying them with structured questionnaires translated in 7 different languages. In health behaviors the results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in high intensity exercise, walking, weight control, and the number of times having breakfast per week depending on the subject`s homeland. In health status, there were statistically significant differences in low back pain incidence and obesity rate by the subject`s homeland. In health care utilization, the subjects revealed statistically significant differences in utilizing health screening, in selecting primary medical institutes, and in the reasons for avoiding medical institutes depending on the subject`s homeland. Health promotion policies that take the results of this research into account would provide suitable health care services for internationally married migrant women.
The Comparison of Kinematic Data of the Body Orientation in Sitting Position to Adapt Dynamically Changing Angle of the Base of Support in Stroke Patients and Healthy Adults

This study aimed to investigate the difference of the body orientation ability in sitting position to adapt to dynamically changing angle of the base of support in stroke patients and Healthy adults. The angle between vertical and head and trunk in 12 stroke patients (6 male and 6 female) and 12 healthy adults (6 male and 6 female) were measured by video motion analysis system. The head and trunk angle between stroke patients and healthy adults in sitting position were significantly different when increase the angle of dominant side(p<.05). The head and trunk angle between stroke patients and healthy adults in sitting position were significantly different when increase the angle of non-dominant side(p<.05). The head and trunk angle between stroke patients and healthy adults in sitting position were significantly different when decrease the angle of non-dominant side(p<.05). The head angle between stroke patients and healthy adults in sitting position was significantly different(p<.05), but the trunk angle was not significantly different when decrease the angle of dominant side(p>.05), Stroke patients compared to healthy adults had more deficits in their body orientation ability in sitting position to adapt to dynamically changing angle of the base of support. This finding may help to understand postural control deficits more clearly in stroke patients in sitting position.
Psychosocial Factors and Its Related Factors Among the Elderly People in a City

This study was performed to determine the relationships among self-esteem, state anxiety, interpersonal behavior trait and locus of control, and to reveal its related factors. The interviews were performed, during the period from April 1st, to June 30th, 2011, to 396 elderlies in Daejeon city. As a results, the self-esteem was negatively correlated with state anxiety and interpersonal behavior trait, while it was positively correlated with locus of control. While state anxiety was positively correlated with interpersonal behavior trait, it was negatively correlated with locus of control, and interpersonal behavior trait was positively correlated with locus of control. Multiple stepwise analysis revealed that the factors of influence on self-esteem included IADL, spouse, mastication of food and amnesia. The factors of influence on State anxiety included mastication of food, IADL, spouse, subjective health status, disability of body, subjective sleep evaluation and educational level. The factors of influence on Interpersonal dependent behavior trait included spouse, IADL, monthly income and subjective health status. The factors of influence on locus of control included spouse and visual acuity. Above results suggested that the self-esteem, state anxiety, interpersonal behavior trait and locus of control of subjects were significantly related with the sociodemographic characteristics, health related factors and health status.
Effect of maternal gene expression on porcine oocytes in vitro maturation

Understanding of the maternal transcriptome increased to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanism of normal oocyte maturation, which depends on a precise sequence of changes in maternal genes expression. Previous reports that the translational potential of a maternal mRNA is generally determined by the length of the poly(A) tail, and deadenylation is usually the first sign of mRNA degradation. However, in vitro cultured system has the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. We determined whether the role of molecular basis, four important maternal genes, C-mos, cyclin-B1 (regulatory subunit of MPF), BMP15 and GDF9, were selected for detection of their precise mRNA expression patterns by real-time PCR and for determination of their polyadenylation status by poly(A) tail PCR during oocyte maturation. In the present study. the abnormal expression of maternal mRNAs prior to zygotic genome activation, which results in suppression of the corresponding protein level, may be responsible for, at least in part, a profound defect in further embryonic development. Reasonable expression of maternal gene is crucial for proper oocyte maturation and further embryonic development.

Therefore, to establish optimal condition and composition with magnesium chloride emulsion as coagulant, this study compared its properties by the usage of 60%(w/w) magnesium chloride solution, lastly measured the characteristics of soybean curd coagulation, coagulation time, state of texture, and water separation ratio with using emulsion as coagulant. After all the experiments, when manufacturing magnesium chloride emulsion with using 70% of quantity of 60%(w/w) magnesium chloride solution, it had the best result as coagulant according to the state of texture and the water separation ratio of soybean curd.
A Study of Quality of Life and Depression for the Elderly in Senior Welfare Center

As Korean society is quickly aging and experiencing longer life-spans, there has been increasing interest in the quality of life of the elderly. Depression has been indicated as an significant factor in the later years of one`s life. The purpose of this study is to seek ways to improve the quality of life of the elderly in senior welfare center as it examines the quality of life and the extent of depression in them. One-on-one interviews were conducted with 127 subjects from the senior welfare center from November, 2011 to January, 2012, using Korean versions of WHOQOL-BREF and the Beck Depression Inventory. Among the interviewees were 62 males and 65 females. The study showed that the quality of life measured 85.82(
) points out of 130 and the extent of depression measured 9.45(
) points. The quality of life showed significant differencies according to education, degree of health, type of health insurance, occupation, and financial independence; while the depression varied according to gender, education, degree of health, type of health insurance, occupation, means of daily living, financial independence and leisure activities. Significant correlation was shown statistically between quality of life and depression. It is recommended that local communities develop programs for the promotion of the aged health and active social participation as well as job creation for the elderly, in order to improve the quality of life.
Musculoskeletal Symptoms and Its Related Factors among Male Workers in a Nonferrous Manufacturing Industry

This study was conducted to find out the complaint rate of musculo-skeletal disorder and its related factors from male manufacturing workers at a nonferrous manufacturing industry. As for the research subjects, 302 workers selected from a nonferrous manufacturer located in Daejeon City, and as for the collection of data, a standardized anonymous questionnaire survey were conducted from May 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011. As a results, the complaint rate of musculo-skeletal disorders by each body part, the symptom of shoulders was 42.7%, the highest rate, followed by the waist, 36.8%, the neck and the hand/wrist/finger, 30.5% respectively, the leg and foot, 30.1% and arm/elbow, 20.9%. The complaint rate of musculo-skeletal disorder for the sociodemographic characteristics was significantly high as survey participants` age and BMI were low and in the group having low subjective health condition. The complaint rate of musculo-skeletal disorder for the health-related behavior characteristics was significantly high in the group having been absent from work due for diseases, in the group having received outpatient services, in the group having been hospitalized for treatment, in the group not having a regular exercise and in the group having insufficient sleeping hours. Finally, the complaint rate of musculo-skeletal disorder for the job-related characteristics was significantly high in the group suffering from the physical burden of their work, in the group working while bending at the waist and in the group carrying out repetitive tasks.
The Effects of Mulberry Extract Consumption on the Serum Levels of Oxidant and Inflammatory Factors in Middle-aged Women with Rheumatoid Factors

This study investigated the effect of mulberry fruit extract(MFE) on antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of middle aged women with rheumatoid factor (RF). Thirty two middle-aged subjects were divided into two groups which were normal middle-aged group (NMG) and abnormal middle-aged group whose serum RF level were > 10 u/mL (AMG). All groups had consumed MFE (100 mL/day) for 4 weeks. Anthropometric measurements, serum inflammatory factors, serum oxidative stress markers analyses were performed at baseline and then at 4 weeks following the study. There were no significant differences in anthropometric measurements, including BMI, WHR and body fat composition between two groups. But after 4 weeks MFE consumption, serum levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), ferric-reducing ability of plasma (FRAP), serum TNF-
, IL-2, IL-4 had significantly decreased (p<0.05) in AMG. These findings suggested that the MFE consumption as food may be protective against oxidation and inflammation like RA.
Analysis of the Risk Perception of Nuclear Power Plant and Radiation

Researches on the danger of nuclear power generation, the foundation of the development of national industry and one of the energy sources, as perceived by ordinary citizens, are very important to social acceptance of nuclear power generation. Accordingly, this study intends to understand how ordinary citizens perceive the social risk of nuclear power generation and radiation, and their misconceptions, and to propose ways to improve such perceptions. To achieve these goals, this study analyzed the perceptions of 251 ordinary citizens. The analysis showed that ordinary citizens have vague anxiety and suspicion about the safety of nuclear power generation, and little trust in government-affiliated organizations. The younger they were, the more influential they thought corporations and industries were. The result of this study suggests that the misconceptions of ordinary citizens should be corrected by professors and scientists in university research institutions they trust the most, and their intrinsic perceptions should be changed accordingly.
Biological and Chemical Hazards Factor Analysis for CCP(Critical Control Point) in Fried Process of Fried Noodles

The purpose of this study was to establish the critical limit at CCP (Critical Control Point) of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) system for instant noodle and it was conducted at P company in Ichen(Gyeonggi-do), Korea. According to the CCP, Fried process were experimented to removal and decrease of microbiological and chemical hazards by measuring of each temperature and times. As a result, the standard plate count and pathogenic microorganism were not detected by fried processing (Temperature :
, Time :
sec). The acid value of chemical hazards produced by fried processing was able to manage, showed lower (0.2) than the legal limit (0.6). Air-borne bacterial examination results detected(3 CFU/mL, 3 CFU/mL) in the Frying Room and Steam Room. Therefore, the CCP-BC of fried process would be a great alternative to prevent and remove hazard analysis, such as general and pathogenic microorganism (E. coli O157:H7, B. cereus, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp, Sthaph. aureus etc), chemical hazard analysis. In conclusion, it suggested that HACCP plan was necessary for management standard and systematic approach in establishement of critical limit, solving the problem, method of verification, education and records management by fried processing.
Factors Affecting Job Satisfaction, Organizational Attachment and Job Leaving Attitude of General Hospital Employees by Job Category

The purpose of this research is to provide basic data to find a solution for the problem related with job satisfaction, organizational attachment, and intention to change their occupations by job category. The collection was done by self-administered questionnaire conducted by 360 employees from Nursing Division, Medical-support Department, and General Affair for 20 days since August. 15 in 2008. According to the result, for Nursing Division, intention to change their career is still high due to opportunity of external employment although their job-satisfaction or the attachment to the job is high. For Medical-support Department, intention to change their career is low compared with work-satisfaction or the attachment to the job is high. However, there are still intentions to change due to opportunity of external employment and excessive quantity of duty. General affair has the lowest work-satisfaction and the highest attachment to the job. However, intention of change is the highest than the others because of their negative-mind.
Development of the Multidimensional Scale of Addictive Behavior for Adolescents

Purpose: This study was done to develop the multidimensional scale of addictive behavior for adolescents. Methods: The process involved construction of a conceptual framework, initial items, verification of content validity, selection of secondary items, and extraction of final items. The participants were 636 adolescents in six middle schools and four high schools. Results: Seventy items were selected for the final scale, and categorized 8 factors explaining 56.5% of total variance. The factors were labeled as game addictive behavior, shopping addictive behavior, mobile phone addictive behavior, nicotine addictive behavior, television addictive behavior, gambling addictive behavior, alcohol addictive behavior, and internet addictive behavior. The scores for the scale were significantly correlated with addictive personality and self-control. Cronbach`s alpha coefficient for the 70 items was .94. Scale scores identified adolescents as addictive behavior group, risk group, and average group. Conclusion: The above findings indicate that the multidimensional scale of addictive behavior for adolescents has good validity and reliability when used with adolescents. More importantly, it provides the first step toward developing a addiction prevention program. Additionally the scales provide an education or guideline, and proper physical and mental health management of youth in research and practice for the promotion of education.

A study of U-slot Microstrip Antenna

The modern society has become full-fledged entry into the information age since spread of Internet. In the information age, internet was developed from the wired access to the wireless Internet access. When a surge in demand for wireless Internet access, efficiency and performance of 2.4GHz band which leads to saturation of the communication was significantly fall. Accordingly, the communication of the 5GHz band came to be interested. In this paper, we studied the design and fabrication of u-slot microstrip patch antenna to be used in wireless communication systems operating at around 5GHz band. To obtain antenna parameters such as patch size, inter patch space, antenna was simulated by HFSS(High Frequency Structure Simulator). From these parameters, u-slot microstrip patch antenna is fabricated using FR-4 substrate of dielectric constant 4.4. The characteristics of fabricated antenna were analyzed by network analyzer.
Development of the Monitoring System Model Based on USN for Landslide Detection Using Tilting Sensor

This paper proposes a model of the real time monitoring system based on Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) for the detection and prediction of landslides. For this purpose, the real time monitoring system with tilting sensor and USN was set up and the performance was conducted. The performance was accomplished by conducting both field examinations and the experimental evaluation of the monitoring system. The results of this study show that the angle
of sensor position detected by the sensor module coincide with the data measured from USN monitoring system by giving a sampling time 100[msec]. Consequently, the proposed model of the real time monitoring system with tilting sensor based on USN will be widely used as a monitoring system in the exposure to dangerous landslide regions.

This paper introduced a previous study which suggest ways to improve problems of drive control system of Ropeless Elevator when developing prior to commercialization of Ropeless Elevator. In particular, this study also manufactured motor, linear speed sensor and the miniature systems to study the implementation of the Ropeless Elevator drive. This study examined the problem of conventional PI controller through the speed control test and focused on the advanced controller based on disturbance observer for Ropeless Elevator drive. The results of this study confirmed the feasibility of the Ropeless Elevator and showed the satisfactory results of drive control techniques. This study also extracted many more problems that still need to be improved in the future for commercializing such as the sensor, high-performance controller, precision structures, safety devices and so on.
A Study on the Optical Filters Bandwidth with Error Probability in Preamplifier System

In this paper, the bandwidth of the filters used in optical communication systems and systems for the correlation between the error probability has been studied. Preamplifier that occurs in the system error probability as a function of the sensitivity of the receiver on the receiver sensitivity was shown for the various error probability calculation is performed. In addition, the channel data rate on the probability of various errors, changes in the function of the optimal bandwidth for the receiver filter was calculated, as required to operate at optimal range of the filter bandwidth, data rate per channel in a 10Gb/s the range of when is between 0.2 and 3.5nm.
Multi-Channel Active Noise Control System Designs using Fuzzy Logic Stabilized Algorithms

In active noise control filter, IIR filter structure which used for control filter assures the stability property. The stability characteristics of IIR filter structure is mainly determined by pole location of control filter within unit disc, so stable selection of the value of control filter coefficient is very important. In this paper, we proposed novel adaptive stabilized Filtered_U LMS algorithms with IIR filter structure which has better convergence speed and less computational burden than conventional FIR structures, for multi-channel active noise control with vehicle enclosure signal case. For better convergence speed in adaptive algorithms, fuzzy LMS algorithms where convergence coefficient computed by a fuzzy PI type controller was proposed.
Balloon-like Active Contour Model Using Variable Closet Points

Active contour model or snake is widely used for segmentation method in the area of the image processing and computer vision. The main problem in the active contour model is that results are very dependent to the closet points of the numbers and the location in initial step. Especially, in case of balloon-like active contour model, the small region which consist of intial closet points are expanded until the edge is reached. It is a serious problem because the considered region are huge with limited points. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose the method that the number of closet points could be change based on the distance between points.
Blind Adaptation Algorithms Using Coarse Error Estimation and Fine Error Estimation

For blind equalization, it is necessary to open an eye pattern quickly in the early stage of equalization, after that it is important to lower an error level of equalizer output signal. This paper discusses coarse error estimation using signal points specifically determined and fine error estimation using original signal constellation, and proposes two suggestions for how to take advantage of the two error estimation methods. The two error estimates, respectively, are effective to quickly open an eye pattern in the state of eye pattern closed, or to lower the level of an error in the steady-state after the eye pattern opening. Two blind equalization algorithms are proposed and their performances are compared, which select one of the two error estimates depending on the state of convergence of the equalizer, or combine two errors weightedly according to the relative reliabilities of the two error estimates, and calculate the new error.

We evaluate the face detection and recognition of depth image that is obtained by infrared range sensor. and Face recognition was usually focused on accuracy aspect but it is not enough to evaluate the performance in testing for real world application. In this paper, we evaluate the overall performance like accuracy, training, test speed and memory use for the well known face recognition algorithm like PCA, LDA, ICA and SVM. This experiment evaluate the good results of depth and colored depth image compatible with the colored image although the file size of depth and colored depth image is 30%~40% less than the colored image. Whereas, LDA got the good accuracy performance next to the SVM and also shows the good performance in speed and the amount of memory.

Vehicle Ad hoc Network (VANET) is next-generation network technology to provide various services using V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2I (Vehicle-to-Infrastructure). In VANET, many researchers proposed various studies for the safety of drivers. In particular, using the emergency message to increase the efficiency of traffic safety have been actively studied. In order to efficiently transmit to moving vehicle, to send a quick message to as many nodes is very important via broadcasting belong to communication range of vehicle nodes. However, existing studies have suggested a message for transmission to the communication node through indiscriminate broadcasting and broadcast storm problems, thereby decreasing the overall performance has caused the problem. In addition, theses problems has decreasing performance of overall network in various form of road and high density of vehicle node as urban area. Therefore, this paper proposed Clustering based Routing Algorithm (CBRA) to efficiently transmit emergency message in high density of vehicle as urban area. The CBRA managed moving vehicle via clustering when vehicle transmit emergency messages. In addition, we resolve linkage problem between vehicles according to various form of road. The CBRA resolve link brokage problem according to various form of road as urban using clustering. In addition, we resolve broadcasting storm problem and improving efficacy using selection flooding method. simulation results using ns-2 revealed that the proposed CBRA performs much better than the existing routing protocols.

This research suggests a monitoring method to support QoS of mobile multimedia services effectively based on information gathering. It means a method in which a subscriber`s terminal collects information about its current condition and its surrounding base stations, and a base station, through the data collected by monitoring inner or adjacent base station, shares related data and converges, controlling QoS on its own. In other words, as context information of mobile terminal and base station changes, set-up of related functions and QoS mapping is adapted; each function fits into the change, exchanges the process of reorganization, and interacts; these actions go toward to satisfy service continuity.

Various digital contents generation techniques are widely utilized by upgrading PC and mobile device. In this paper, we propose sketch effect simulation based on real drawing pieces. For this, we analyze Vincent Van Gogh`s drawing pieces; and then construct DB by extracting sketch stroke pattern of each object. From this database, we select stroke pattern at each object, and then, apply it. Our algorithm can generate similar effect look like real drawing piece. It may be utilized various contents such as children`s painting education book.

Landsat 7 ETM+ sensor is getting imageries in the SLC-off state since May 31, 2003 due to mechanical defect of SLC(Scan Line Corrector). Therefore additional correction works are required to use these imageries. In this study, Landsat 7 SLC-off imageries were corrected using Gapfill function and compared with Landsat 5 around the same time. Most of pixels in omitted areas due to SLC-off by producing SLC-off imageries and imageries without visual incompatibility could be achieved as there were not unnatural noises. Also, the corrected imageries were performed land cover classification which was compared with the classification result using reference image. To do this, it could be suggested the possibility of SLC-off imagery. Landsat 7 SLC-off corrected imageries will improve the difficult conditions to detect changes of large areas and be used to detect changes of large areas and classify imageries as well as to recover imagery loss arising regionally such as small scale cloud, etc.

The architectural design process is consisted of the phase of programming and the phase of the design. The contemporary architectural scheme, as a datascape, a rhizome structure and a diagram, is based on the concept of modern physics. And it is applied on the phase of design by synthesizing data. Like this, the design of the architectural field is accomplished in the phase of design. For design of the architectural field, the characteristics of the architectural field is considered as the viewpoint of design in the procedure. First, according to the area which is defined by relations of environments, around architectures and so on, the net system of relations is designed as area. Second, design the linkage between building and space, building and building, space and space, according to the correspondence each other. Third, design the method or form of connecting building and space to one as a building and a space are no longer divided but are understood by one. As a result, for the design of architectural field, it is necessary to define the criteria by the characteristics of architectural field and the architectural field is designed by process.

Recently, antiwashout underwater concrete has been increasingly used for marine foundations of long span bridges. However, to shorten the construction period of antiwashout underwater concrete used in marine foundations, high fluidity antiwashout underwater concrete should be manufactured largely improving fluidity than the previous one. Thus, the objective of this experimental research is to suggest optimum mix proportions of high fluidity antiwashout underwater concrete. For this purpose, concrete specimens containing ground granulated blast furnace slag were manufactured according to the dosage of antiwashout admixture for unit binder contents of 550 and 600kg/
, respectively. And then, their quality performances such as slump flow, setting time, underwater segregation resistance, and ratio of compressive strength were evaluated according to the related specification of Korea Concrete Institute. It was observed from the test results that the minimum dosage of antiwashout admixture was necessary to satisfy the related specification.
A Study on the Undrained Characteristics of Highly plastic soils I: Relations of Properties

The relations of the various undrained geotechnical properties were, in depth, investigated for highly plastic soils using the numerous experimental testing results. The sensitivity is proportional to void ratio and OCR but inversely proportional to effective unit weight. The difference in Su(Un), Su(UU), and Su(FV) tends to increase or decrease with such sensitivity, void ratio, and OCR. The possibility of deducting the empirical equations denoting the correlations of various properties and the indicator for selecting appropriate testing method could be confirmed.

Due to the recent shortage of well-graded river sand resulting from a rapid growth of concrete construction, sea sand, crushed sand, and etc. are increasingly used instead. It is, however, well noted that non-washed sea sand leads to corrosion of the reinforcing steel in concrete, and thus eventually results in damage to concrete. Also, the crushed sand is not being widely used, since it is difficult to maintain the allowable amount of passing 0.08mm sieve and to adjust grading. On the other hand, because the fine sand of Nakdong-River has a poor grading but good quality as a fine aggregate for concrete, it is strongly needed to investigate the fine sand as an alternative fine aggregate. Thus, the purpose of this research is to evaluate the physical properties of the fine sand of Nakdong-River to utilize it actively as a fine aggregate. For this purpose, after the sand samples were collected according to typical location of main stream of Nakdong-River, the physical properties such as density in oven-dry condition, grading, unit volume mass, and etc. of them were estimated. It was observed from the test results that physical properties of the fine sand of Nakdong-River except grading were found to be excellent.
Seasonals Pollutant Outflow Analysis in the Watershed of Soyang Lake by using Multivariate Analysis

This study evaluated the behavior of pollutants based on the seasonal change by selecting the branch river`s factors that influence the outflow of pollutants in Soyang lake basin. The analysis method was the factor analysis that classified the factors of the drainage area influencing the outflow of pollutants, and evaluated selected representative factors. As a result of the study, SS and T-P factors should be classified as similar factors to the storm water runoff, and the improvement of water must be strived through managing source of pollution at the time of no rain. Second, as the result of the influence from the factors, spring and winter seasons usually exert 36% influence and summer and fall exert over 90% significant influence that the improvement of water through managing source of water seems possible. At last, the prediction about delivery pollution load considering the outflow characteristic of pollutants at the drainage area based on seasonal change by regarding selected factors as independent variables is possible.

In this paper, the performance of power generation for the energy harvesting block with a combination of piezoelectric technology and electromagnetic technology among various energy harvesting technologies was investigated. The goal of this study is to evaluate on the applicability of our developed energy harvesting block into the field of urban & housing. First, we carried out a finite element vibration analysis and evaluated the performance of power generation for the multi-layer energy harvester at laboratory scale. Second, we described the features of our developed prototype module that includes amplification technologies to improve power density per module and evaluated the performance of power generation for the energy harvesting block in a variety of ways. Finally, we suggested the direction for the improvement of the energy harvesting block module.

The safety accidents due to the insufficient visibility are frequently occurred at the coastal zone. Therefore, safety facilities that provide visibility are certainly required to prevent accidents. In order to solve this demand, the concept of the light emitting system embedded concrete (LESeCON) are established and then concrete curb is produced for application to the coastal zone. To investigate the mechanical and functional performance of concrete curb developed in this study, the bending strength test and the visibility test are conducted.
A Case Study on the Effect of Price Ceiling Regulation on the New Apartment Price

This paper examines the effect of price ceiling regulation on the new apartment price. The analysis procedure of the study is divided into two parts, which stand for a case study on the effect of price control on the new apartment price and the survey of real estate experts on price ceiling regulation. The empirical results of our case study show that the selling price under price ceiling regulation is generally lower than that in the situation of price deregulation, in terms of the land development expense and construction cost. With regard to the survey results, more than half of respondents have opinions that price ceiling regulation has an impact on the new apartment price and lowers the price. They are equally divided pro and con regarding the problem of keeping or discarding the regulation.

This study ultimately aims at proposing an IT-based efficient method to solve one of the biggest problems currently faced by human beings which is lack of water. As a trial, targeting residential water, a chain of efforts was added such as choosing an appropriate field area and a censor, installing a sensor and the communication systems and servers, and monitoring the real time residential water consumption data. Then, a series of residential water consumption models was developed through the analyses of data gathered. And using the developed models, a series of trend analyses was performed for the residential water consumption. The research results shows that the developed models can be generalized and utilized for the water supply management purpose individually or along with the ones from the other water categories.

In this study, modeling and optimization works were completed for the separation of 99.9 mol% of methyl ethyl ketone from water through a pressure-swing distillation process since the azeotropic composition varies very sensitively with the change of system pressure. PRO/II with PROVISION release 9.1 was used for the computer simulation and Wilson activity coefficient model was chosen as a modeling equation. A pressure-swing distillation process can be classified into a low-high pressure columns configuration and a high-low pressure columns configuration. In this work, each configurations were optimized for the minimization of steam consumptions, respectively and were compared.

Real-time process monitoring and diagnosis of industrial processes is one of important operational tasks for quality and safety reasons. The objective of fault diagnosis or identification is to find process variables responsible for causing a specific fault in the process. This helps process operators to investigate root causes more effectively. This work assesses the applicability of combining a nonlinear statistical technique of kernel Fisher discriminant analysis with a preprocessing method as a tool of on-line fault identification. To compare its performance to existing linear principal component analysis (PCA) identification scheme, a case study on a benchmark process was performed to show that the fault identification scheme produced more reliable diagnosis results than linear method.

Dissolved oxygen is one of the most important factors controlling growth in aquatic organisms. Hypoxia is generally defined as dissolved oxygen less than 2.8 mg

or 91.4 mM). Therefore, hypoxia zone can cause a serious problem in marine ecosystem. In this study, to investigate embryotoxic (fertilization and embryo development rates) effects of hypoxia on sea urchin Strongylocentrotus nudus were exposed to dissolved oxygen levels of 7.6 mg
(normoxia) and 1.8 mg
(hypoxia) for 2 days at
and 33 ‰. Also, Expression levels of stress related gene (HSP70) and antioxidant related gene (glutathione reductase) in the sea urchins exposed to hypoxia were confirmed by Immunoblotting and RT-PCR analysis. In results, we showed that developmental rates were dramatically reduced in hypoxia condition. Molecular analysis demonstrated that higher HSP70 (5.5 fold) and glutathione reductase gene (2.79 fold) were present in the sea urchin exposed to hypoxia. Our results suggested that hypoxia can cause the abnormal development and elicits a stress and antioxidant response on sea urchin.

The dedusting characteristics of pulse air jet type dedusting system which is widely applied in the industries were identified by utilizing the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the dedusting performance in modified shape of dedusting unit was compared in this study. The review on the dedusting air volume, air stream distribution and inflow velocity distribution on each shape of dedusting part showed that the case of installing the nozzle on the blow tube (Case-3) and the case of installing the double intaking tube to the venturi (Case-4 and Case-5) were more excellent than the structure (Case-1) which is widely applied in the field in its amplification effect on the air volume and extension of stream width. The specification of venturi was decided to apply the selected Case-5 for the option of the commercial back filter. It is considered that the dedusting air volume will be maintained in maximum in the case of 50 mm and 90 mm for the diameter of internal and external intaking pipe respectively.

Analysis of Cu and Zn concentrations in shellfish from Korean coasts

The coastal environment is affected by Cu and Zn contamination through diverse routes, including antifouling agents, industrial wastewater, and domestic activities. In this study, Crassostrea gigas and Littorina brevicula were used to examine the distributions of Cu and Zn, which are related to the increase in the use of new antifouling agents that have been used for ships since the TBT ban in 2003. The average Cu and Zn concentrations in the samples were 231.8
, respectively. Both the Cu and Zn concentrations were highest in the shipyard samples, followed by the harbor sample for Cu and the industrial area sample for Zn. The results indicated that the Cu concentration was affected by the antifouling agents, and the Zn concentration was affected by both the antifouling agents and industrial wastewater. The areas that need intensive control to address the Cu and Zn contamination in major Korean coasts were identified.
