Evaluation of Fatigue Strength Share Effect of the Rust Due to Corrosion at Ship Structural Plate

Ship and offshore structures, those are to be used under the seawater conditions are prone to corrosion. In this research, the effect of rust existence on the fatigue strength at structural member of ship and offshore structure was investigated. For this purpose, fatigue tests for the rust removed specimen were conducted. In addition, the comparison of fatigue strength between rust removed specimen and rusted specimen was conducted. With these test results, fatigue strength share effect was investigated. Finally, at this research, it was found that there is fatigue strength share effect on the rust. In comparison of fatigue strength reduction factor, fatigue strength of the rust removed specimen is 18.1% lower than that of the rusted specimen. From the above, it was known that as far as there are not any harmful ingredients in it, rust on the steel plate is beneficial in an aspect of fatigue strength.
A Study on the Characteristics of Fuel Consumption and Emissions of Diesel Vehicles Using Engine Coolant Flow Rate On/Off Control

The use of the electromagnetic clutch water pump for internal combustion engine vehicles saves fuel and leads to a reduction in emissions. The clutch water pump allows the engine cooling system to select the optimum operation condition by using coolant flow rate on/off control. This study investigated the characteristics of fuel consumption and emissions of the diesel engine cooling system using the clutch water pump. The electromagnetic clutch operation reduced by about 49% of engine warm up period at idle condition and controlled the optimum high coolant temperature at driving condition. Therefore, fuel consumption was enhanced by about 5%, and emissions such as HC, CO and
were also reduced to a certain degree even though NOx increased a little bit, compared to those of the conventional water pump under NEDC mode which represents the real driving pattern.
Performance Development of Coolant Core for Range Extender Engine Using CFD Simulation

A Coolant core for Range Extender engine has been developed using CFD technique. Coolant by-pass has been added to the improved model to reduce temperature near and between exhaust valve. Due to the increased coolant flow-rate both around the second cylinder block and between exhaust valves, improved model shows no significant stagnant flow compared with base model. Finally, the improved model shows improved heat transfer coefficients near exhaust valves, and 5% reduced pressure-drop through the coolant core. Reduced pressure-drop may increase the fuel efficiency by reducing the load of a coolant pump.
Usability Study of Different Types of Mobile Phones Using KLM Model

The purpose of this study is to investigate the usability and user interface in different types of mobile phones. KLM(key-stroke-level model) model estimation and observation values were calculated to perform 11 functional factors in 4 ordinary mobile phones and 4 smart phones. In results, it was found that the usability of ordinary phone is superior to smart phone in basic and simple function likes phone call. On the contrary, the usability of smart phone is superior to memorizing and picturing function. Current results can be used to anticipate the future effort to improve user interface design especially in smart phone.
A Study on Numerical Analysis and Performance Improvement of Ventilation Systems in Coating Room

One of the most important objects for the industrial ventilation is to protect worker`s health from the harmful substances. Mainly in industrial ventilation, the harmful substances broken out through manufacturing process are to be quickly emitted outside. Recently the importance of the industrial ventilation increases with the recognition change of industrial ventilation from manufacturing focusing to human focusing. In this paper, the air flow simulation inside the coating room is performed. All the coating room and the ventilation system are modeled by SolidWorks program and air flow distribution and ventilation performance are analyzed by Flow simulation program. And the air flow directions and the air flow velocities inside the coating room are enhanced with the use of local ventilation.
Critical-speed Increase of Optical Disk by Applying Residual Stresses

Through the data transfer race in industry since 1990s, the operational speed of optical disk drive(ODD) becomes commonly over 10,000 rpm. Such high speed operation inevitably causes the vibration, which is also the disturbances in the read-write process of pick-up servo-controller. Generally the vibration disturbance problem can be solved by the vibration isolation using the rubber mount and the increase of robustness of the pick-up servo-controller. Optical disk itself has not been targeted for the vibration reduction, because it is manufactured under the standardized format. In this paper we focused on the increase of critical speed of optical disk, that is, the improvement of dynamic characteristics, with the control of residual stresses which are come from the injection molding process. To do this, first, the residual stresses induced from the injection molding process are calculated using finite element method. The major design parameters of the process conditions are flow rate and melt temperature, which control the residual stresses in optical disk. Second, the critical speed of optical disk is calculated with modal analysis considering residual stress distributions. It was found out that the critical speed can be improved by the control of operational parameters in the injection molding process.

This paper presents design and performance evaluation of MR damper for the reducing vibration of a flexible pipe conveying fluid. A novel type of MR damper which is suitable for pipe vibration characteristics is proposed and the MR damper is mathematically modeled and its damping force characteristics are evaluated. The vibration control performance of the MR damper associated with The cantilever pipe system is evaluated.
A Study on the Development of an Energy Saving Unit for a Hydraulic Elevator

In a traditional hydraulic elevator, elevator car is descended by down control valve, and the oil hydraulic energy must be lost during the descending stroke. In this paper, hybrid type energy saving unit for a hydraulic elevator is researched to save the hydraulic energy which is lost during the descending stroke. The energy is stored as converted electrical energy, and the saved energy is reused as the auxiliary power for the ascending stroke of elevator car or the main power of other parts. The results show that the output characteristics are stable and good and the research is successful and useful to reuse the saved energy during the descending stroke of elevator car.
Measurement System for Phosphor Dispensing Shape of LED Chip Package Using Machine Vision

In this study, an efficient machine vision based inspection system is developed for the in-line measurement of phosphor resin dispensing shapes on LED chip package. Since the phosphor resin (target material) has semitransparent characteristics, illuminated light beam is reflected from the bottom of the chip as well as from the surface. Since such phenomenon can deteriorate inspection reliability, a white LED and a 635nm laser slit beams are experimentally tested to decide suitable illumination optics. Also, specular and diffuse reflection methods are tested to decide suitable optical triangulation. As a result, it can be known that the combination of a white slit beam source and specular reflection method show the best inspection results. The Catmull-Rom spline interpolation is applied to the obtained data to form smoother surface. From the results, it can be conclude that the developed system can be sucessfully applied to the in-line inspection of LED chip packaging process.
The Study on niche creation mechanism of drama contents based on lead users - Focussing on drama Damo fandom community

Based on the case study methods, the study analyzes that the countless UCC Cloud cloud is the niche creation by the lead users make process. This research show as follows. First, The Drama lovers and fan fiction writers are not only drama consumers but UCC creators/producers. By the process that the UCC and fan fiction is tailored to meet the needs of their users create fan fiction in fandom community, they create an entirely different niche from original drama. Second, the flow(drama consumption/evaluation, viewers needs/adaption, the user`s creation/production) which community`s creative users make sequentially coevolutes with the flow(drama information offer, intentionally supply/diffusion, derivatives production) of media companies. Third, the drama fandom community activities which is non-commercial activities form the drama ecosystem with a new paradigm, as well as form a virtuous cycle inked to the market continuously beyond fun, play, empathy.
A Study on the impact of the Adolescent Resilience on Suicidal Ideation, and the Suicide Prevention -Based on External Protective Factors

This study clearly identify the correlation between adolescents resiliency and suicidal ideation and more effective to strengthen the external protective factors for adolescents suicide prevention alternatives presented. Research subjects were 243 boy and girl first year students in a high school located in Kyunggi Province; Questionnaires were distributed for one week from March 5, 2013. Frequency analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, etc. were executed. All empirical tests were verified with 5% of significance level. From the result of analysis, suicidal ideation has a negative correlation with the adolescent resilience, and especially, when interaction in family dimension and the care, expectation level of school and peer dimension become higher, suicidal ideation was reduced. The implications of this study suggest that the material prepared for suicide prevention policy based on the results of a study on the impact of adolescents resiliency to suicidal ideation.
A Case Study of Discontinuous Innovation Based on Cusp Catastrophe Model : Implications for Predictive Risk Management

Managing uncertainty or discontinuity in an innovation is still a challenge to most companies. For sustainable corporate survival over the long term, one of the problems caused by discontinuous innovation is the innovator`s dilemma. In specific, the dynamics between discontinuous innovation and incumbents inspires the interestof researchers and managers. This paper employs catastrophe theory as a theoretical basis to explain the driving force of new discontinuous change. In other words, we extract the control variables overcoming innovation dilemma by interpreting the dynamics of corporate strategy for discontinuous innovation from the perspective of catastrophe theory. First, we define four types of discontinuity such as technology discontinuity, product discontinuity, business discontinuity, and consumer preference discontinuity. Second, we analyze the dynamics of the competition between companies by interpreting the cases of discontinuous innovation. This analyzing process enables us to identify the control variable which can, in advance, respond to the discontinuous situation.
The Longitudinal Case Study on the Dynamically Evolving Value Network of SK Telecom

This study attempts to identify how the value network of mobile industry has evolved in the value creating process. The longitudinal case study on SK Telecom was conducted by measuring the SK Telecom`s investment structure during from 1999 to 2008. Results show that the convergence services based on the advanced mobile networks changed the revenue structure, and enabled SK Telecom to reposition as a media company. For the value creation, SK Telecom`s value network has flexibly adapted to convergence environment through dynamic asset reconfiguration.
The Effect of Perceived e-Service Quality and Other-Word of Mouth on Customer Satisfaction and Revisit Intention - In a Family Restaurant Website

The current paper aims to analyze the influence of users` self evaluation of e-service quality and others` word-of-mouth(WOM) on customer satisfaction and revisit intention in a family restaurant web site. The research model includes the constructs of service quality, WOM, customer satisfaction, and revisit intention. This study examines the hypothesized model using data from 175 college students around the Seoul metropolitan area who have visited a family restaurant as well as used its web site during the last three months. The findings show that service quality has a significant impact on customer satisfaction and a full-mediation effect between WOM and customer satisfaction. In addition, customer satisfaction has a significant influence on revisit intention. Family restaurants need to have an effort to manage service quality factors and social influences such as online WOM in order to use a web site as a tool of customer relationship management.
The Influence of Subjective Cognition about Determinant Factors in Employment on Job Satisfaction

In order to analyze the influence of subjective cognition about determinant factors in employment on job satisfaction, this study utilized The Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS) 2010 Year and the subjects of this survey were 4,051 people who graduated from university. The results of this study were follows: First, subjective cognition about determinant factors in employment and job satisfaction were showed significant difference by gender, type of school, school location, major fields. Second, school in region, education major, the academic factor, the certification & major field factor, the personality & human connection factor were found to have positive(+) influence on the intrinsic satisfaction. Third, 2~3years college, school in region, social major, education major, technology major, natural major, medical major, academic factor, the certification & major field factor, the personality & human connection factor were found to have positive(+) influence on the extrinsic satisfaction. This study provides detailed analysis on subjective cognition about determinant factors in employment, offering new verification of work job satisfaction.
Effect of Self-Esteem, Ego-Resilience, Social Support on Nursing student`s Adjustment to College

The purpose of this study was to investigate level of Self-Esteem, Ego-Resilience, Social Support and School Adjustment and to explore the factors that contribute to the school adjustment of nursing students. Subjects were 437 nursing students of three different college which are located in Taegu city. The survey was conducted from October 9th to November 27th. 2011. The result indicated that the higher Self-Esteem, the higher Ego-Resilience and the higher Social Support are the better School Adjustment to nursing student. And it was found that the effects of Self-Esteem, Ego-Resilience and Social Support on School Adjustment was 40.4% and Self-Esteem had the greatest influences on their school adjustment in nursing students. According to the results of this study, we need to consider student`s self-esteem in nursing curriculum and prepare to develop programs for advancement of self-esteem to help nursing students` School Adjustment.
A Study of Sports Stars` Guarantee Advertising and Consumers` Intention to Purchase Sporting Goods

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of guarantee advertising by three sports stars (Jisung Park, Doori Cha, and Tahwan Park) working for famous sport brand names such as Nike, Adidas, and Fila on the intention of purchasing. In the study, total 240 people of all ages but those who are under twenty are chosen to conduct a survey. The results of investigation is the followings. First, with the respect of gender and age there are statistically meaningful differences between sports stars` guarantee advertising and consumers` intention of purchasing sporting goods that result from demographical elements. Second, how the guarantee advertising of sports stars have an influence on consumer`s intention of purchasing products results in the three sports stars in a different way. As for Jisung Park, the result represents that his athlete characteristics such as expertise, creditability and similarity have to do with consumers` intention of purchasing goods most. Third, as for Doori Cha, the result identifies that his creditability and similarity plays an important role for the consumers` intention of purchasing. Forth, as for Tahwan Park, similarity has some meaningful influence on the sport consumer`s intention of purchasing. The fact that similarity plays an important role in common for the consumers` intention of purchasing is noteworthy to the researchers relating to the advertisement area.
The Influence of a Brand Image on consumer`s Attitude and Loyalty to the Brand -in special reference to coffee houses-

Coffee houses` key factors to succeed in the market are not only a basic element -the taste of coffees- but also brand image, satisfaction and consumer fidelity that food service industries take into account overall. The goal of this study is to find out the relations among brand image, brand attitude and fidelity. To this end, coffee was selected among other products due to its characteristic that the difference of its quality between brands is not very noticeable. Through an analysis of each coffee house`s brand image in this saturated coffee market, the influence of brand image on consumers` preference was found out. In this process, not only a strategy for each coffee house`s growth and development but also the relations between brand image, brand attitude and brand fidelity would be researched, resulting in a creation of more systematic strategies.
A Study on the Analysis of Regional Disparity and Competitiveness on Employment in Korea

This study aims to recognize the regional disparity of employment and to analyse the regional current states and characteristics using the evaluation criteria for employment competitiveness. Firstly, it has revealed that the regional disparity of employment is deepening and disparity from the quality side and stability side are more serious. Secondly, the strongest regional employment competitiveness was found to be Chungnam, followed by Seoul, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, Daejeon and the region of employment risky is Busan. Lastly, it has analysed that the most influencing factors on employment competitiveness are criteria of stability sector. Therefore, we should make efforts to create jobs of good quality and stable, in order to reduce regional disparity and strengthen the competitiveness of employment. And especially region of employment risky must require continuous monitoring.
An Exploratory Study of business support policy by growth phases for Small and medium sized enterprises -Focused on Cheonan and Asan in ChungNam-

This study performed empirical analysis to estimate SMEs needs in terms of business support policy by growth stages(start-up growth expansion). The subject is the SMEs in Cheonan and Asan, ChungNam and the results are as follows. First, In the initial start-up stage, management plays a key role in dealing with money, labor force, markets and technology while running the organization is a key role of the management in the expansion stage. Major policies to help SMEs grow includes money provision needed in the start-up stage, domestic marketing assistance and the provision of human resources in the growth stage, and assistance in foreign marketing and R&D in the expansion stage. Second, To achieve markets businesses aim at entering the existing and niche markets in the initial phase, and creating new markets in the growth phase. Third, Labor force for technology, sales and management planning in the start-up stage, marketing in the growth stage, and labor force for production in the expansion stage are core man- power needed. Fourth, Money for technology development, securing land for factories, organizing man power, securing markets and running the company is needed in the initial and growth stages while fund for facility investment is needed to grow in the expansion stage. Five, Regarding technology, the initial stage needs technology related to new product development, renewing existing products, improving the existing manufacturing process or developing new manufacturing process, while the growth stage needs processing techniques, and the expansion stage needs technology for developing new manufacturing process. Sixth, Making supply contracts with conglomerates, SMEs and public institutions, and sales to foreign markets are ways for SMEs to grow sales. Seventh, What SMEs wish to get includes business incubating support, R&D assistance, information exchanges, practical use of the R&D results, merchandising support, help with the land to build factories and custom-made support for management in the foundation stage while the support they want to get in the growth stage and in the expansion stage is training assistance and trial production respectively.

Effect of Adult`s Taste Recognition Threshold and Salivary Flow Amount on DMFT and OHIP-14 depending on Oral Health Behavior

The purpose of this study was to measure using a six-step solution for taste recognition threshold and using a Wet-Test for salivary flow amount of the adults who reside in Daegu area and are more than their 40`s old to find out the relationship between DMFT index and OHIP-14. The study result revealed that the practice of oral health gave an effect to taste recognition threshold, dietary habit gave an effect to salivary flow amount, and sweet and sour taste of taste recognition threshold and salivary flow amount gave effects to the DMFT index. Therefore, it was found that the person with good practice of oral health and dietary habit had good taste, salivary flow amount and DMFT index. According to this result, it is necessary to increase the practice of oral health, increase the sensitivity to taste recognition threshold, improve dietary habit, increase salivary flow amount and decrease DMFT index in order to improve OHIP-14. Dietary habit education has been performed without the evaluation on the individual`s level of taste recognition threshold. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the education program to measure and notify the taste recognition threshold in the oral health education so that individual can adjust it by himself.
Frequency of daily tooth brushing among Korean adolescents, 2008-2010: The Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey

The purpose of this study was to examine the frequency of daily toothbrushing among Korean adolescents. The Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey data were analysed. subject included 75,238 in 2008, 75,066 in 2009 and 73,238 in 2010, which included a nationally representative sample of middle and high school students. The frequency of daily toothbrushing was analysed according to socioeconomic status (gender, age, residential areas, type of school, parents` education and occupation). All survey data collected was processed using SPSS ver 19.0 for data analyses such as frequency analysis, t-test and Chi-square. The mean frequency of daily toothbrushing for 2008 was 3.92, 2009 was 3.96 and 2010 was 3.99. The appearance of toothbrushing after having lunch at school was indicated to be 34.5% in 2008, 38.0% in 2009 and 40.8% in 2010. This study has shown that need to systematic oral health promotion programmes for adolescent in Korea.

The objective of this study was to develop and evaluate learning smartphone application for improving drug dosage calculation ability of nursing students. This study was to examine the influential factors of smartphone overuse in health college students. The subjects of this study were randomly selected from the departments of Emergency Medical Technology, Physical Therapy and Health Administration at G College in G metropolitan city and 250 subjects were sampled. After explaining the purposes of the research from Oct. 22 to 25, 2012 and obtaining their consent to take part in the research, structured self-administered questionnaire was given and examined. Final 223 data were collected and used for analysis with SPSS 12.0 for Window. To sum up the results of the research, it was confirmed that the motives of using smartphone were highest in entertainment and leisure on withdrawal of overuse sub-factors, ostentation and trend on tolerance, entertainment and leisure on compulsion and obsession, ostentation and trend on life inconvenience and side-effects, and entertainment and leisure throughout its overuse motives. Therefore, development and application of preventive education programs on overuse smartphone use with health college students are urgently required and practical personal counseling and management for overuse smartphone users should be conducted.
Application of Patient Safety Indicators using Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury Survey

Objective: This study aims to determine whether national patient safety indicators (PSIs) can be calculated. Methods: Using PSI criteria from Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) Health Technical Papers 19 based on the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), PSIs were identified in the Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury Survey (KNHDIIS) database for 875,622 inpatient admissions between 2004 and 2008. Logistic regression was used to estimate factors of variations for PSIs. Results: From 2004 to 2008, 3,084 PSI events of 8 PSIs occurred for over 80 thousands discharges. Rates per 1,000 events for decubitus ulcer (PSI3, 4.88), foreign body left during procedure (PSI5, 0.05), postoperative sepsis (PSI13, 1.32), birth trauma-injury to neonate (PSI17, 7.92) and obstetric trauma-vaginal delivery (PSI18, 32.81) are all identified between ranges from maximum to minimum of OECD rates, respectively. However, rates per 1,000 events for selected infections due to medical care (PSI7, 0.22), postoperative pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis (PSI12, 0.90) and accidental puncture or laceration (PSI15, 0.71) are below the minimum of OECD range. 7 PSIs except PSI 18 showed statistically significant relationship with number of secondary diagnoses. When adjusting patient characteristics, there are statistically significant different rates according to bed size or location of hospitals. Conclusion: This is the first empirical study to identify nationally number of adverse events and PSIs using administrative database. While many factors influencing these results such as quality of data, clinical data and so on are remain, the results indicate opportunities for estimate national statistics for patient safety. Furthermore outcome research such as mortality related to adverse events is needed based on results of this study.
The Relationships between the Empowerment, ursing Performance, Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention of Long-term Care Hospital Nurses

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships between the empowerment, nursing performance, job satisfaction and turnover intention of long-term care hospital nurses. The subjects were 258 nurses at a long-term care hospital in B and U city. The data were collected from November 23, 2012 to January 21, 2013. Data were analyzed by SPSS win 20.0 program. The mean score of empowerment was 3.22, nursing performance was 3.78, job satisfaction was 3.25 and turnover intention was 2.87. Empowerment was correlated with nursing performance and job satisfaction positively, but correlated with turnover intention negatively. As a result of multiple regression, empowerment has 50.3% of the explanatory power on job satisfaction, 13.4% on nursing performance, and 21.9% on turnover intention. The significant predictive factors of nursing performance and job satisfaction were information and support in empowerment. In addition, turnover intention was resources in empowerment. These results suggest that empowerment improvement programs should be focused on developments to improve the quality of nursing.

This study attempt to develope and suggest a new, minimize side effects process for calculate a time to peak enhancement of contrast level by using blood flow instead of current mathematical process. We conducted a studies 127 patients who performed the CE MRA by using test-contrast inject way. We used measurements of a contrast inflow time and time to peak enhancement of contrast level of each cerebrovascular branch for similarity of witch cerebrovascular branch calculate a time to peak enhancement of contrast level by using blood flow in image compared with calculation a time to peak enhancement of contrast level by using current mathematical process after contrast enhancement. In this study, confidence interval were used if the variable is continuous variable; there is differences between 4 groups exist but in group 1, there is no difference with time in peak enhancement of contrast level by using mathematical method to inflow time in sinus sigmoideus. it was significant statistically, in addition there was significant low heterogeneity in Bland Altman plot. Thus, apply a new calculate a time to peak enhancement of contrast level by using blood flow method will minimize damage caused by side effect, maintain quality of image, easy and fast access. It should provide a space for the exchange of current calculate a time to peak enhancement of contrast level by using mathematical process.
The relationship between lowest bispectral index value and age in high spinal anesthesia

The aim of this study was to quantify the sedative effects of high spinal anesthesia, according to patient age, by also evaluating respiratory and hemodynamic changes. A prospective study was performed in 60 patients who were electively scheduled for lower limb or lower abdominal surgery. They were allocated into one of 2 groups according to their age: older age (51-80 years) and young age (20-50 years). In all groups, the lowest intraoperative bispectral index (BIS) values significantly lower than preoperative values. Patients in the older age group had significantly lower intraoperative BIS values than younger patients. The sedative effect of high spinal anesthesia is greater in older patients than in young patients, with an increase in respiratory instability. Our study showed a negative correlation between age and lowest BIS value; the lowest BIS value was reduced in older patients.

This study was performed to determine the levels of physical functioning and to reveal its association with socio-demographic characteristics, health status and health related behaviors in the elderly people admitted long-term home care insurance. The interviews were performed, during the period from December 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012, to 618 home care elderlies admitted long-term care insurance dwelling in Daejeon city. As a results, the distribution of impaired ADL and IADL group of all subjects were 45.6% in ADL, and 48.4% in IADL. in consequently, the rate of impaired IADL group was higher than that of impaired ADL group. In logistic regression analysis, the adjusted odds ratio of the impaired ADL and IADL group were significantly increased in the group of male, living with spouse or family, bear for living expenses with son and daughter, health insurance, irregular exercise, seldom with frequency of going out, seldom with activity of hobbies, Subjective health status is good, and disability of body, visual acuity, hearing ability and mastication ability is good, and without urinary incontinence and amnesia. In conclusion, the level of physical functioning in the elderly people admitted long-term home care insurance was decreased in IADL than ADL. And the level of ADL and IADL were related with the various variables of socio-demographic characteristics, health status and health related behaviors.

Elevator power consists of power consumption in stand-by and in service. This paper designed a fuzzy controller saving stand-by power of elevators in a way that calculates the adequate number of elevators by the variable traffic volume of passenger and then powers off elevators being out of service. Also, the fuzzy controller was designed to minimize a increase of the average passenger`s waiting time by the limited number of elevators in service. When the fuzzy controller designed in this paper was applied to the group elevator experimental device, The passenger`s waiting time increased approximately 7.5%~9.5%, While the stand-by power saving is expected to be about 675KWh a day per unit and about 236.6KWh a year per unit.

This paper deals with an optimal angle error reduction method of magnetic hall sensor using hall effect elements with yoke. The magnetic position sensor is required to generate ideal sine and cosine waveforms from its hall effect elements according to rotation angle for precise angle information. However, the output signals are easy to include harmonics due to uneven magnetic field distribution from disturbance in the vicinity of hall effect elements. Thus, The paper studies a way which makes sine and cosine waveforms robust in disturbance and reduces harmonics by installing a yoke around Hall effect elements. The angle detection simulation for the magnetic hall sensor is performed by 3 dimensional finite element method and Taguchi method, one of the design of experiments. For the Taguchi method, three design parameters related to position of hall effect elements and shape of hall effect element yoke are selected.

Wind generation systems are very different in nature from conventional generation systems. Therefore it is necessary to research dynamic characteristics of wind generation systems connected to a power system. The stability analysis of wind turbine generator is an important issue in the operation of the power system. The result of angular stability of the power system that consists of only synchronous generators is different from that of the power system including wind turbine generators. This is due to the fact that generators connected to wind turbines are generally induction generators. The angular stability assessing synchronization of generators is determined by its corresponding critical clearing time(CCT). Wind turbine models for the analysis of power system are varied and difficult to use, but now these are standardized into four types. In this paper, the analysis of the CCT of the power system connected to wind farm considering the location and capacity is performed by using DFIG(Doubly-Fed induction Generator) wind turbine built-in type3 model in PSS/E-32.
A screening of Alzheimer`s disease using basis synthesis by singular value decomposition from Raman spectra of platelet

In this paper, we proposed a method to screening of Alzheimer`s disease (AD) from Raman spectra of platelet with synthesis of basis spectra using singular value decomposition (SVD). Raman spectra of platelet from AD transgenic mice are preprocessed with denoising, removal background and normalization method. The column vectors of each data matrix consist of Raman spectrum of AD and normal (NR). The matrix is factorized using SVD algorithm and then the basis spectra of AD and NR are determined by 12 column vectors of each matrix. The classification process is completed by select the class that minimized the root-mean-square error between the validation spectrum and the linear synthesized spectrum of the basis spectra. According to the experiments involving 278 Raman spectra, the proposed method gave about 97.6% classification rate, which is better performance about 6.1% than multi-layer perceptron (MLP) with extracted features using principle components analysis (PCA). The results show that the basis spectra using SVD is well suited for the diagnosis of AD by Raman spectra from platelet.

We detect the obstacle for the UGV(unmanned ground vehicle) from the compound image which is generated by stereo vision sensor masking the depth image and color image. Stereo vision sensor can gathers the distance information by stereo camera. The obstacle information from the depth compound image can be send to mobile robot and the robot can localize the indoor area. And, we test the performance of the mobile robot in terms of distance between the obstacle and the robot`s position and also test the color, depth and compound image respectively. Moreover, we test the performance in terms of number of frame per second which is processed by operating machine. From the result, compound image shows the improved performance in distance and number of frames.

Widespread personal data utilization has led personal data protection to its importance at core, and serious data spill has increased constantly as a result. Though various types of protection systems for data spill have been suggested, all these met failures in detection of personal data when printed out or preventing fatal data exposure without any protections when data spill happens. I propose API-Hook method which detects and controls personal data within printouts, and prevents data leakage through masking on the printed-out data. Also, it is verified if security is guaranteed on the documents containing personal data when implementing. In order to obtain security, it is essential to put more weights on the balance with availability than confidentiality.
A Study on Improvement of Routing Performance for Wireless Mesh Networks

WMN is considered as a core methodology to provide mobile wireless network service with multi-hop routing feature. It has a merit that can be easily deployed by utilization of protocols for MANET. However, it has differences in supporting multiple networks and channels, network architecture, and so on. Especially, in case of routing protocols, to apply them intactly to WMN can be a cause of low performance because of do not moving mesh routers. AODV seems like suitable for WMN among the various routing protocols for MANET. However, it has a defect in scalability. In this paper, an enhanced AODV routing method for WMN was proposed. The proposed method was designed to be suitable to the architecture of WMN by use of layering and localizing the broadcasting domain.
Stop Object Method within Intersection with Using Adaptive Background Image

This study suggests a method of detecting the still object, which becomes a cause of danger within the crossroad. The Inverse Perspective Transform was performed in order to make the object size consistent by being inputted the real-time image from CCTV that is installed within the crossroad. It established the detection area in the image with the perspective transform and generated the adaptative background image with the use of the moving information on object. The detection of the stop object was detected the candidate region of the stop object by using the background-image differential method. To grasp the appearance of truth on the detected candidate region, a method is proposed that uses the gradient information on image and EHD(Edge Histogram Descriptor). To examine performance of the suggested algorithm, it experimented by storing the images in the commuting time and the daytime through DVR, which is installed on the cross street. As a result of experiment, it could efficiently detect the stop vehicle within the detection region inside the crossroad. The processing speed is shown in 13~18 frame per second according to the area of the detection region, thereby being judged to likely have no problem about the real-time processing.
Performance Improvement of the Smart Antenna Placed in Wi-Fi Access Point

OFDM Wi-Fi AP is susceptible to the co-channel interference. As a countermeasure, the insertion of a smart has been addressed. Despite of the guaranteed efficiency, the complexity of the post-FFT algorithm often keeps itself from being selected as the countermeasure. Instead, simply constructed pre-FFT smart antenna of which the algorithm is based on the received signal covariance matrix is commonly used and the mathematical modeling of it has been deployed. Computer simulations evaluating the improved BER characteristics of the proposed pre-FFT using the covariance matrix of channel estimator output have been carried out. It has been demonstrated that channel matrix output based smart antenna is superior to that using received signal covariance matrix.
Design for Miniaturization of Oscillators using Common DGS

In this paper, a design of size-reduced microwave oscillator using common defected ground structure (common DGS) is described. At first, an oscillator is designed using the normal stub resonator, and the conventional DGS patterns are inserted for the first trial of size-reduction. Finally, the DGS resonator section is folded by half size in order to adopt the common DGS, and this produces the proposed size-reduced oscillator. Common DGS pattern is inserted for a better size-reduction than when conventional DGSs are used. The folded transmission line is connected using the 3-dimensional signal via-holes. For an example of design, a 2.1GHz oscillator is designed and fabricated using a small signal transistor and common DGS, which shows the size-reduction of 11 mm. The measurement shows 6.7dBm of output power and -133dBc/Hz@1MHz of phase noise. The measured performances are so similar to those of the oscillators before size-reduction and prove the proposed size-reduction method of oscillators using common DGS.
Cross Compressed Replication Scheme for Large-Volume Column Storages

The column-oriented database storage is a very advanced model for large-volume data analysis systems because of its superior I/O performance. Traditional data storages exploit row-oriented storage where the attributes of a record are placed contiguously in hard disk for fast write operations. However, for search-mostly datawarehouse systems, column-oriented storage has become a more proper model because of its superior read performance. Recently, solid state drive using MLC flash memory is largely recognized as the preferred storage media for high-speed data analysis systems. In this paper, we introduce fast column-oriented data storage model and then propose a new storage management scheme using a cross compressed replication for the high-speed column-oriented datawarehouse system. Our storage management scheme which is based on two MLC SSD achieves superior performance and reliability by the cross replication of the uncompressed segment and the compressed segment under high workloads of CPU and I/O. Based on the results of the performance evaluation, we conclude that our storage management scheme outperforms the traditional scheme in the respect of update throughput and response time of the column segments.

We show that the Token-based ME algorithm, when using Failure Detector, is more effectively implemented than the classic Token-based ME algorithm for synchronous distributed systems.
A Study on Building up the Portal Service to Support Low-Carbon City Planning in Korea

This study reviews planning support systems (PSS) in the context of the development processes of urban models(focusing on Land-Use Transport Models, LUTM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), both of which are key components of PSS supporting spatial plannings like urban and regional planning. It also explores changing planning environments like increased demands of citizen participation, especially in the environmental sector like global warming, and intensified development of Information technologies based on Internet and mobile networks. As a conclusion this study proposes a prototype of portal service to support low-carbon city planning to mitigate the greenhouse gas as an alternative to supplement or reinforce PSS, reflecting the changing planning environments.

A stress ribbon pedestrian bridge is the structure in which the axial force of prestressed deck, which is developed by introducing prestressed force into the thin deck with the very low value of span to deck-depth ratio which is installed on bearing cables with the specified sag, resists most of external loadings. Since the design of stress ribbon pedestrian bridges should be conducted by assuming the cross-section of deck, the area of bearing cables and post-tensioning cables, and the prestressed force of post-tensioning cables, it requires much more iterative processes than the design of general bridges. In this research, to minimize such iteration processes, regression equations which can reasonably assume the area of bearing cables and post-tensioning cables, and the prestressed force of post-tensioning cables, are suggested for the bridge length of 80m with the sag-span ratios of 1/30, 1/40, and 1/50.
Construction of Expert Service for GPS Relative Positioning Data Processing

It requires a lot of time and effort for general users who do not have enough understanding of GPS to properly processing GPS data. However, the GPS data processing field heavily relies on foreign-produced software and there is almost no development of user-oriented technology. Therefore, in this study, it was attempted to build an expert service that enables non-experts to use high-precision GPS data processing. As a result, an expert service that can maximize user convenience simply by entering the minimum required information for GPS data processing was developed, and the expert service was verified by relative positioning processing of the observation data of satellite control point provided by National Geographic Information Institute and observation data obtained by GPS survey. The expert service significantly reduces the effort and time for processing GPS data, which will contribute to precise positioning and other various studies.
A Study on the Building Code Application of Super-tall Building Design

The main objective of this study is to develop the application system of building code in super-tall building design. In order to improve the design company`s qualification in the specialized building project such as super-tall, developing the reasonable application of domestic building code system is one of essential factors. This study show the unique environment required in the super-tall design process and compare the regulation system in domestic building code and international building code, mostly US. By analyzing the building codes of Busan Lotte Tower, this study suggest the addition or modification of building code application for the similar super-tall building design projects.
A Study on the Standard Drawings of Seoul Middle School Architecture in 1975

This study aims to analyze the `Standard Drawings for School Facilities` issued by Seoul Education Committee in 1975 because it is the early example for middle school architecture. The results of this study are summarized as follows 1) In general trend of single-corridor type block plan, there are also changes in floor plan like no-corridor type block plan,
classroom unit for the better daylight condition, built-in storage for students. 2) As for elevation design, it is characterized as daylight-oriented, functional exterior for without making full use of design elements. 3) Standardized dimensions are used as a rule in the height of story, ceiling, window sill and etc. Transitional characteristics of the early RC school architecture are found in exposed ceiling, incomplete insulation structure and mixed use of wood framed floor of earlier type. 4) Contrast to main school building, gymnasium shows the intend to express the symbolism of school architecture with diverse elevation design elements and the plasticity of building mass. 5) Separated plan of toilet and night-duty building also show the transitional characteristics. As conclusion, though showing the stereotyped school architecture, on the other hand, `Standard Drawings for School Facilities` (1975) makes it possible to see the way of coping with the demands for school architecture in that time and the transition of school architecture. This is the main value of it as the material for the studies related to the history of educational facilities.
Parametric Study on Determining Upper Length of Nonhomogeneous Pile installed in Clay

Parametric studies on nonhomogeneous pile and homogeneous pile installed in clay were performed through the developed technique to investigate the effects of considered factors on the lateral pile behaviors. Values of the parameters with embedment depths of the two piles having different flexural rigidity show that values of the parameters for more rigid pile were greater than those for smaller one. Parameters for the case of the nonhomogeneous pile were converged to the same ones of the homogeneous pile as nodal point moves away from point of material boundary. In order to determine adequate upper length of the nonhomogeneous pile, changing patterns of the parameters, lateral displacement, member forces and so forth should be compared.

Noise occurred when medical treatment in dental clinic will affect the patients. This study was measured the noise level and frequency in case of medical examination and also has evaluated the degree of indoor noise using the NR-curve, NRN and a distance to conversation between worker and patients using the PSIL. It shows that noise level was 69.3~81.5dB(A) and frequency was very high (more than 4K(Hz)) and analysis by NR-curve showed that it was exceed the noise permit level and distance to conversation was less than 1meter by PSIL. To remedy a fear of noise in patients and provide a conversational satisfaction, it`s considered that choosing the low noise-vib. equipment, using the masking effect and set the room to explain. So It is possible to improve their competitiveness.
Open-Cell Rigid Polyurethane Foam Using Reactive Cell Opening Agents

Cell opening characteristics dependent on the cell openers for the conventional formulation of a closed-cell polyurethane foam (PUF) was studied using 1-butanol and lithium salt of 12-hydroxystearic acid (Li-12HSA) as the reactive cell opening agents. While cell openining content of only 10.5 % was obtained for the sample with 4 phr of 1-butanol as the single reactive cell opener, that of 98.0% could be obtained for the sample with 2 phr of Li-12HSA as the reactive co-cell opener. As the results, it showed that a fully open-cell rigid PUF could be obtained by introducing a novel reactive cell opener, having a functional group able to form a bulky side-chain on the urethane networks, without severe loss of mechanical properties of the closed-cell PUF like cell size, bulk density, and thermal conductivity.
A Study on the Electrochemical Properties of SPEEK/PWA/Silica Composite Membranes

Sol-gel method was utilized to prepare SPEEK/PWA electrolyte composite membranes. TEOS was used as a precursor and phosphotungstic acid(PWA) as a catalyst for the sol-gel reaction. It was observed through FE-SEM analysis that the PWA and silica nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed into the polymer matrix. The water uptake of SPEEK/PWA/silica composite membranes was less affected by TEOS concentration at higher TEOS contents, while the water uptake decreased as TEOS concentration increased at lower TEOS contents. The proton conductivity of the composite membranes showed similar trend as the water uptake of the composite membranes. The methanol permeability of SPEEK/PWA/silica composite membranes decreased as TEOS concentration increased.

In this paper, we proposed the modeling in one zone buildings and the energy efficient temperature control algorithm using particle swarm optimization (PSO). A control horizon switching method with PSO is used for optimal control, and the TOU tariff is included to calculate the energy costs. Simulation results show that the reductions of energy cost and peak power can be obtained using proposed algorithms.

Poly(o-hydroxyamides)(PHAs) copolymers having oligo(oxy ethylene) pendant in the main chain were synthesized by solution polycondensation reaction at low temperature.
