Analysis for Defect Evaluation of Pipes in Nuclear Power Plant

The integrity evaluation of pipes in nuclear power plant are essential for the safety of reactor vessel, and integrity must be assured when flaws are found. Accurate stress intensity analyses and crack growth rate data of surface-cracked components are needed for reliable prediction of their fatigue life and fracture strengths. Fatigue design and life assessment are the essential technologies to design the structures such as pipe, industrial plant equipment and so on. The effect of crack spacing on stress intensity factor K values was studied using three-dimensional finite element method (FEM). For the case of cylinder under internal pressure, a significant increase in K values observed at the deepest point of the surface crack. Also, this paper describes the fatigue analysis for cracked structures submitted to bending loads.
Development of Map-Based Engine Control Logic for DME Fuel

This paper presents the verified results from the examination of the control algorithm, logic composition, and vehicle condition of the engine that has been adapted for DME fuel. It introduces the development process of the control structure and the logic control based on control map and auto-code generation, and finally verifies the reliability and performance of the overall control. The control structure largely consists of the injection control part that implements driver demand into an engine net torque and the air control system part that satisfies characteristics of exhaust gas and power performance. The control logic is designed with feedforward and feedback control for each of its control functions for an enhanced response. Moreover, the control map of the feedforward controller is created by the use of an engine model created by test data of mass product diesel engine, and it was subsequently calibrated in the test process of the engine and vehicle state. A test mode was completed by attaching the developed controller to the vehicle, and a reduction in gas emission is confirmed by the calibration of EGR, VGT, and injection times.
Optimization Design of the Clinch Stud using the Finite Element Analysis and the Taguchi Method

This study derives the optimal conditions for design parameters of clinch stud with high torque resistance and bonding force by using FE simulation and Taguchi method. Maximum forming load and filled rate of material are considered as objective functions. Height and depth of groove with diameter and depth of lobe are chosen as design parameters. These control factors and the friction considered as noise factor are combined by orthogonal array. Forming load and filled rate are evaluated through the simulation. Simulation results are analyzed by using the ratio of signal to noise through Taguchi method. From these results, their optimal combination conditions are proposed. In the order of the most important parameter which affects filled rate, there are the height of lobe, the height of groove, the radius of lobe and the depth of groove.
Structural Optimal Design of the Frame of a Desktop Servo Pressing Machine

Present research deals with an optimal design of the C-type frame of a desktop pressing machine to minimize its deformation which plays an important role in accuracy of the machine. Deformation pattern of the frame is analyzed by the finite element method. Design parameters are defined for the frame to derive an optimal design. Displacement and weight sensitivities of the parameters are analyzed using the method of the parametric study. On the basis of the response curves for the parameters, optimal designs of the frame are proposed. Effectiveness of the optimal design is verified by analyses in the viewpoint of the deformation and weight of the frame. Deformation of the optimized frame without increase of the weight is 87.5 % of the original frame.
Study on the characteristics of the rib mold processing using a single type of tool

Rib cutting is being used to many electronic components and small plastic products. In this study, comparison experiment on tool of flat type(2F) and single edge type(1F) was conducted. Results were as follows: Surface roughness and tool wear of straight cutting showed good results in tool with a straight structure of the Existing tool. Rib cutting of 7mm depth was shown 50% higher surface roughness of development tool than the existing tool. The cutting time varies depending on the shape of the rib. But it is three times faster compared to existing tool.
Squeal Test Using Lab-Scale Brake Dynamometer for Pad Angle and Negative-slope

In this study, squeal noise test was conducted by using the lab-scaled brake dynamometer. Squeal conditions with respect to the angle of the brake pads (
) and negative slope, were studied. Squeal frequency of the In-plane-like mode was confirmed by hammering test and finite element analysis. This Squeal mode was difficult to control by the pad angle variation. Also the squeal sound was found to be periodic signal which has higher harmonic components. Squeal noise is independent of the negative slope. It implies that squeal noise can reach the stick-slip oscillation.

In this study, a series of CFD analysis was performed in order to predict the leaving water temperature and the slope of in-situ thermal response tests of the vertical-type geothermal heat exchangers. The geothermal heat exchanger and surrounding ground formation were modeled using GAMBIT and simulation was used by utilizing FLUENT which is commercial CFD code. A Study of Robust Design of FCM Gasket Using Taguchi Method

This paper deals with the robust design of the non-asbestos FCM(Fiber-elastomer Coated Metal) gasket. In order to this, the measurement of the shear stress based on the design of experimet using the orthogonal table was carried out and the control factors for shear stress using the larger-the-better SN ratios with the Taguchi method were evaluated. In addition, the analysis of variance for SN ratios was conducted. The temperature, pressure, duration time and humidity were selected as the control factors. The orthogonal table
was made of 3 levels for each factor and the measurement of shear stress was acomplished on the base of the table. Delta statistics of time is the highest value 0.93 and therefore the time affect the largest effect on the shear stress of gasket. A Study on the Welding Amount Estimation System combined with 3D CAD Tool

These days, the great part of design processes in the field of ship or offshore manufacturing are planed and implemented using the customized CAD system for each ship-building companies. It means that all information for design and production could be extracted and reused at the useful other area cost considerable time and efforts. The representative example is the estimation of welding length and material amount which is demanded during the construction of ship or offshore structures. The proper estimation of welding material to be used and the usage of them at the stage of schedule planning is mostly important to achieve the seamless process of production and expect the costing in advance. This study is related to the calculation of welding length and needed material amount at the stage of design complete utilizing the CAD system. The calculated amount are classified according to welding position, stage, block, bevel and welding type. Moreover it is possible to predict the working time for welding operation and could be used efficiently for the cost management using the results of this research.

Damping Characterization of the Double-skin Aluminum Extruded Panels for Rolling Stock Carbody

When car builder designs the large carbody structure of railway vehicles, it is necessary to optimize the damping characteristics through the analysis of structure borne noise such as sound pressure level(SPL). This paper is a study on the structure borne noise analysis by characterizing the damping of double skin aluminum extruded panels for rolling stock carbody. The normalized SPL was calculated based on the simple source theory using measured mechanical mobility parameters from vibration tests(i.e. point, transfer and modal mobility). The reduced SPL was predicted by using finite element method by applying loss factor of damping material into laminated shell elements. It was found out that the damping material coated on the panels like underframe, which part is seriously affected by vibration during train run, took effect to reduce noise level.
Impact of Design Consulting on Competitiveness of SMEs -Based on the `Design Innovation Project in Industrial Complex` of Busan Design Center

Amid the importance of design is being emphasized as a new barometer for boosting enterprise competitiveness, high expectations are being placed on design consulting that evaluate design from a comprehensive perspective. SMEs, however, are not easy to gain access to design services compare to their counterparts - large companies. This will eventually cause them to ignore the importance of design, not to mention lack of financial resources for investing in design. With this regard, the paper analyzed the design status and design consulting performance of SMEs in industrial complex through the 2012 Design Innovation Project in Industrial Complex of Busan Design Center; also analyzed the effect of design consulting on improving competitiveness of SMEs as well as design awareness. As a result, the study found that a majority of companies do not invest in design or postponed investment, despite they are not satisfied with their design performance. However, 65.6 percent of SMEs that realized the importance of design after consulting have carried out design development, which brought about sales increase through their improved corporate images and product images. We believe design consulting played an important role for boosting awareness and competitiveness of SMEs. Eventually, we need to provide an intensified design analysis process that can facilitate SMEs. Design consulting support projects should offer practical design development programs through continuous follow-up, including interaction with state projects and design-specialized companies.
The Effects of Dysfunctional attitude of College Students on Job-Seeking Anxiety

Amid ever-increasing job-seeking burden and anxiety of college student, this study examined how their dysfunctional attitude affected job-seeking anxiety. The subjects of this study were 600 college students in Metropolitan area. The survey period was conducted from May 21, 2012 to June 1. The study had the findings as below. First, the impact of dysfunctional attitude on job-seeking anxiety was found in the form of 27% physical condition, 18% aroused situation and 10% parental expectations, and especially perfectionism had substantial impact on job-seeking anxiety. Second, correlation analysis between dysfunctional attitude and job-seeking anxiety showed that dysfunctional attitude had direct relationship with all of physical condition, aroused situation and parental expectations. Under the circumstances, more in-depth analysis of dysfunctional attitude and proper interventions are required so that students are able to lower their job-seeking anxiety, prepare healthy work life in society. So is required research and development of programs that can work as a driving force for students to minimize their dysfunctional aspects particularly pursuit of perfectionism and seek jobs as wanted.

A Study on the Regional Resources Facilities Tax

Fire service budget must be increased continually to supply sufficient fire service for safety life of people. A way to increases fire service budget is to plan and improve regional resources facilities tax system. The purpose of this articles is to analyzes the relationship between regional resources facilities tax and fire service budget, fire service investment budget, socioeconomic factor, fire service demand. To do this, this study sets up five hypotheses based on the theoretical backgrounds and the past research. The statistical methods used for the verification of hypotheses are multiple regression analysis and t test. The analysis showed that regional resources facilities tax was positive significant variable for fire service investment budget and fire service budget and socioeconomic factor was a positive significant variable for regional resources facilities tax. And the analysis showed that fire and rescue variable of fire demand factor were positive significant for regional resources facilities tax.
A Study on the Technology Evaluation of Development of Tyvek Planting Techniques in Citrus

This study was carried out to evaluate the economic value of Tyvek planting technique in Korean citrus. The Tyvek planting technique was developed by national institute of horticultural and herbal science in Korea rural development administration. This technology could be used to improve efficiency and practicality of cultivation of citrus. The research results show that the technological value of Tyvek planting technique was evaluated 42,163(discount rate 6%)-55,018(discount rate 8%) million won. IRR is greater than discount rate(6-10%). NPV is greater than zero. B/C ratio IRR is greater than 20. The economic validity of Tyvek planting technique is identified by the results of technology evaluation.

The progress of Information Technology enables people can communicate each others using the Internet. As a smartphone proliferates, many free mobile VoIP(Voice over IP) application are developed and accepted by smartphone users. In this study we investigate the factors affecting the acceptance of mobile VoIP applications and the structural relationship among these factors. We review the related works and extract the related factors and build a research model describing the causal relationship among these factors. We conduct an empirical study - a survey and statistical analysis - to verify the research model. EFA(Exploratory Factor Analysis) is applied for variables in the survey and SEM(Structural Equation Model) is used to reveal the structural relationship among the factors. We can find that two factors - usefulness of mobile VoIP and social influence - positively affect usage intention and actual use. These findings imply that it is required to emphasize the benefits of mobile VoIP use and add S/W functionalities enhancing social influence.

The convergence of ICT and cloud computing is treated as a main issue all over the fields including education. This development leads to change from e-learning to u-learning and smart education. Therefore, we need to study in term of the systematic and a long-term viewpoint how smart education environment have an influence on the practical space. And we need a concrete study for smart education space based on property of space. Under these critical mind, this study understands the smart education space in terms of the convergence of computing space and physical space. A Study on the Analysis of Regional Disparity and Competitiveness on Youth Employment

This study aims to analyse the regional disparity of the youth employment and to regional current states and characteristics via evaluation criteria for employment competitiveness. Summaries of the major results in this study are as following. Firstly, it has revealed that the regional disparity of youth employment is deepening. Secondly, after the analysis of employment competitiveness, the strongest regional employment competitiveness was found to be Seoul(0.622), followed by Chungnam(0.592), Ulsan(0.528), Gyeongbuk(0.514), Gyeonggi(0.507) and the region of employment risky is Jeonbuk. Lastly, the most influencing factors on the competitiveness of youth employment are supply factors and demand factors. Therefore, we must create new jobs of good quality, in order to reduce regional disparity and strengthen the competitiveness of youth employment. Also region of employment risky should require continuous monitoring. And the government should determine priorities of employment policies that suitable for regional characteristics. That is to say, the government should contribute to establishing the strategy of choice and focus.
Analysis of the Relationship between Workers` Personal Goals and Perceptions of Calling

This study purposed to examine the relationship between personal goals and perceptions of calling. For the purpose, this study conducted a questionnaire survey of 371 workers(finance, educational service, IT service sector) in Metropolitan area. Data were analyzed by t-test, Pearson`s correlation, correlation analysis. The results were as follows. The individuality of personal goals and presence-transcendent summons and purpose & meaning, prosocial orientation of perceptions of calling were significantly different according to school career and the social responsibility, resource provision of personal goals and all sub-factors concerning perceptions of calling according to religion existence. Also, the individuality of personal goals and all sub-factors concerning perceptions of calling were significantly different according to organization type and according to their job, the presence-transcendent summons and purpose & meaning, prosocial orientation of perceptions of calling were significantly different. According to groups which have high or low integrative social relationship goals, perceptions of calling were significantly different. There was a correlation between the integrative social relationship goals and the perceptions of calling. Therefore, in order to encourage workers` perceptions of calling, the importance of integrative social relationship goals were verified. And it is necessary to have supporting systems to let workers design their life goals through their job in their organization.
Influencing Factors on Successful Aging of Middle and Old Aged Men

Purpose: This study is to verify and analyze the influencing factors of successful aging with social support, self-efficacy, community environment and subjective health status on middle and old aged men. Methods: The survey was performed to the men between the ages of 50 and 79 in Seoul and Kyunggi province, Korea. 144 questionnaires were collected and analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program. Stepwise multiple regression was used to identify significant predictors of successful aging. Results: The most influencing factor for successful aging was social support, the second was self-efficacy, the third and the fourth was community environment and subjective health status. This regression model explained 56.7% of the variance in successful aging. Conclusion: The result shows that these variables should be considered in intervention and program of successful aging for middle and old aged men. It can be an important consideration in enhancing promoting care and welfare for the successful aging.
Korean Translation and Psychometric Properties of Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction Assistive Technology 2.0

The purpose of this study was to translate QUEST 2.0 in Korean with valid translation process and to measure psychometric characteristics. Translation process was consist of six steps. Internal consistency was analyzed by Cronbach`s
. Test-Retest reliability was analyzed by Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient. Internal consistency of `Assistive device` was .88, `Services` .92. There was no statistically significant difference according to repetitive measure. The spearman correlation coefficient was .64 for "Assistive Device" and .66 for "Services". This result reflects K-QUEST 2.0`s (Korean-Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction Assistive Technology 2.0) safety, consistency, and predictability in aspect of measure. In this study, the K-QUEST 2.0 was translated into Korean and the reliability of K-QUEST 2.0 was tested. Decisively, the K-QUEST 2.0 can be applied to evaluate user satisfaction of assistive technology.
Relationship of BMI to Body Dysmorphic Disorder among College Students in Gangwon Province

Recently, Korean prefer the slim and skinny body. Even though they are normal or underweight, they strive for weight control routinely. Due to the appearance-oriented trend prevalent in our society, severe losing weight for women has become a social problem. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between body dysmorphic disorder and depression. Health-related and health-unrelated college students were classified into three different groups according to BMI. This study was performed of 200 health-related and 200 health-unrelated college students respectively at K college in Gangwon province. A self-administered survey was conducted from September 10 to 21, 2012, and the 319 questionnaires were analyzed. The collected data were analyzed by the SPSS(statistical package for the social science) WIN 18.0. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of individual breast-feeding promotion program on breast-feeding attitude and breast-feeding practice in the non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. The subjects of this study were 64 pregnant women who were more than 32 weeks of pregnancy period (Exp. group; 32, Con. group; 32) at a Maternal and Child health center. The data were analyzed with frequency, percentage,
-test and t-test using a SPSS statistical program. The results are as follows. The experimental group that participated in the individual breast-feeding promotion program was higher scores of breast-feeding attitude and breast-feeding practice rate than the control group. There was significant difference between two groups with time period change. In conclusion, this program could be an effective nursing intervention to improve breast-feeding attitude and breast-feeding practice.

In this paper, hand acupuncture used as a way of life medicine in everyday life, the influence of human organ will be investigated by applying IT techniques. For this, hand acupuncture is based on priority of the most important organ in the human body to target the cardiac associated with cardiac reflex point A16 acupuncture point before and after for 5 min to stimulation of facial images were collected and applied to the Lab color system associated with the cardiac, color value of cheonjung and lips region were measured for comparison and analysis. Finally, by measuring the change in bio-image signals A16 acupuncture point stimulation effects on cardiac function were performed to investigate the effectiveness of acupuncture. Also, statistical significance tests from the experimental results were performed whether the experimental results is valid or not.

The purpose of this research is to access the dietary habits and weight control attitudes in college women, and to correlate them to the subjective fatigue symptoms. The research subjects are 508 women enrolled for studies in undergraduate school from freshmen to senior year in Daejeon city. The survey was conducted with self-administered questionnaire from Apr. 1st to May 1st to May 31st, 2012. In the questionnaire encompasses general characteristics, daily life style factors, dietary habits, attitude toward body type and weight control, and subjective fatigue symptoms. As a results, the affecting factors on the subjective fatigue symptoms were selected various factors such as frequency of the one food, frequency of dining out, having dinner, frequency of instant food intake, frequency of cereal, ice-cream intake, frequency of bean, soybean product intake, frequency of milk, milk product intake, consider excessive intake of sugar, consider excessive intake of salt, self-perception on body type and desire to control weight. Therefore, we can find out that their subjective fatigue symptoms are correlated to the factors in dietary habits, attitude toward body type and weight controls. It is concluded dietary habits and attitude toward body type and weight control themselves cause one`s subjective fatigue symptoms, not because of each variables. So, it need efforts of having regular diets, making balanced body and controling body weights by objective ranges.
Clinical Competence and Self-confidence of New Graduate Nurses with an Integrated Nursing Curriculum of Simulation with Problem-Based Learning

The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of an integrated nursing curriculum based on simulation with problem-based learning (PBL) by comparing the clinical competence and the self-confidence of newly graduated nurses. A non-equivalent control group post-test design was employed to compare the clinical competence and the self-confidence in the clinical performance examination using standardized patients between 39 newly graduated nurses with the traditional nursing curriculum and 35 with the integrated nursing curriculum. Data analysis involved Fisher`s exact test, t-test, Pearson`s correlation coefficient, and ANCOVA with the SPSS 19.0 program. The total clinical competence mean score graded by the standardized patients was not different between the two groups. However, the total clinical competence mean score graded by faculty was significantly higher in the integrated curriculum group than the traditional curriculum group. The mean self-confidence score was significantly higher in the integrated curriculum group than the traditional curriculum group. Active teaching-learning strategies including simulation or PBL in the nursing curriculum could benefit for nursing students by inducing favorable clinical competence and self-confidence. Longitudinal follow-up studies based on observation are needed to explore the patient outcomes in addition to the learner outcomes in clinical settings.
A Study on Nursing Students` Elderly Patient Simulation Experience

This study was conducted to examine the effects of the elderly patient`s simulation experience on attitudes toward elderly and elderly patients, and empathy of elderly patients among nursing students. Study results showed that elderly patient`s simulation experience did not have significant effects on attitudes toward elderly or elderly patients, whereas it had significant effect on enhancing the empathy on elderly patients. The subjects of experimental group indicated that the factors decreasing the effect of intervention are single event of experience, raising aging anxiety, lack of the reality of simulation clothing, and risk of accident during simulation experience, etc. In order to maximize the positive effects of the elderly patient`s simulation program, it is necessary to find a way to improve those limiting factors identified from this study, and to continue to work on positive effects of elderly simulation applied for their curriculum.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors of self-reported voice problem. Data were from the Korea National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey 2008. Subjects were 3,600 persons (1,501 men, 2,099 women) aged 19 years and older. A prediction model was developed by the use of a exhaustive CHAID (Chi Squared Automatic Interaction Detection) algorism of decision tree model. In the decision tree analysis, pain and discomfort during the last 2 weeks, age, the longest occupation and thyroid disorders was significantly associated with self-reported voice problem. The findings of associated factors suggest potential ways of targeting counseling and prevention efforts to control self-reported voice problem.
Effect of 12-Weeks` Swimming Exercise on Leptin and Plasma Lipids Profile in Cerebral Palsy

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12-weeks` swimming training on BMI, leptin and plasma lipid profiles in limited exercise function and physical activity with cerebral palsy. Swimming training program is scheduled to perform for 12-week and 1h each 4 or more times per week. The results of the this study were as follows; First, Body weight, BMI, total cholesterol, LDL and leptin were slightly decreased trend, although these did not reach statistical significance. HDL was not changed in before vs. after training. Second, in the concentration of plasma triglyceride, after training was significantly higher than before training(p<.05) and free fatty acid level was significantly lower at the after training(p<.001). These results suggest that the 12 weeks` regular swimming program has effect of improving plasma lipid and leptin levels in cerebral palsy. Therefore, we consider that it have effect on prevention of obese-related metabolic diseases in cerebral palsy.

The data mining is a new approach to extract useful information through effective analysis of huge data in numerous fields. This study was analyzed by decision making tree model using Clementine C&RT(Classification & Regression Tree, CART) as data mining technique. The Purpose of this study was to evaluate by comparing the dose change and build up characteristic according to delay time in 30 days of glass dosimeter processed preheat and non preheat when measuring accumulation dose of radiation by using glass dosimeter over the long haul. For obtaining low dose with 0.1 mGy, 1 mGy and 5 mGy, we employed diagnostic generator AccuRay-650R. We compared the build up characteristic over the long haul by exposuring radiation to 30 glass dosimeters sorted into 10 glass dosimeters per tube voltage and current. In Non preheat glass dosimeter, initial measured dose was inferior to exposed dose but as time goes on, was close to exposed dose steadily. In 72 hour after experiment end, non preheat glass dosimeters were not indicated the difference from preheat glass dosimeters and statistical analysis were meaningful (p>0.05). Initial measured dose for low glass dosimeter processed preheat was close to exposed dose and stable. After 15 days dose was gradually increased. Previous study characteristics of glass dosimeter were with respect to characteristic of glass dosimeter in high dose of high energy area. However, in this study, we make a judgment to measure the dose of glass dosimeter without preheat processing when measuring the accumulation dose of low dose in conclusion.
Comparison of chemiluminescence immunoassay (CIA) and immunochromatography assay(ICA) for Detecting HBsAg and Anti-HBs

Diverse immunoassays including a chemiluminescent immunoassay (CIA) are used to detect hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and antibody (anti-HBs). Recently, an increasing number of institutions have been utilizing an immunochromatography assay (ICA), which is easy to use. In this study, We evaluated ICA kits for the rapid detection of HBsAg and anti-HBs by comparing them with a CIA. A total of 120 serum hospital samples, were collected for the whole month, were assayed using ICA kit. The Concordance rate, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the ICA for HBsAg based on CIA results were 97%, 97%, 100%, 100%, and 96.8%, respectively. The diagnostic performances of the ICA for Anti-HBs were 90%, 90%, 93.3%, 93.1%, and 90.3%, respectively. The ICA kit failed to detect HBsAg and anti-HBs in low reactive samples. The ICA kits for the rapid detection of HBsAg might be recommended for interpreted with caution and dual analysis in the clinical laboratory.

Band-Rejected UWB Antenna Using Unit Cells of FSS

Band-notched ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas using frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) are presented. The proposed antennas utilized the band rejection characteristic of typical FSS unit cells. We loaded the FSS unit cells on the same plane of planar UWB antenna. These antennas are designed to reject the interference from the wireless local area network band, 5.15-5.825 GHz in the UWB band, 3.1-10.6 GHz. The measured peak gains of the proposed antennas are more than 2 dBi at both operation edge and center frequencies, and sufficient to apply for commercial purpose. The antennas are small size and planar shape for the purpose of the small mobile application, and enhanced design freedom by using various existing FSS unit cells.

The polymer insulators have been extensively used as an alternate material of ceramic insulators. However, when they are used in practical conditions, there are many problems of decreasing performance and shortening lifetime due to the exposures of degradation factors applied from the outdoor situations. Accordingly, the analysis of polymer degradations has been getting influential too late as one of important subjects for improvements of safety and reliability. Heat, water treatments are arbitrary simulated for finding out the initiations and processes of surface degradation on the polymer surface. Especially, this study is focused on the chemical changes properties. From the analysis of hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecular structures, final modeling of surface degradation is accomplished. We checked the contact angle depending on heat and moisturized accelerated degradation and ran an XPS analysis to check the mechanism change of the surface of the PCB polymer composite. The surface that had a tendency to attract moisture showed a decrease in the contact angle and generated a large amount of carboxyl(
) radicals. The hydrophobized surface showed an increase in the contact angle and had a stable chemical composition constituted of the breakaway of oxygen radicals and the formation of double bond by carburization.

The control module controlling points has become high-tech. but the introduction of relevant company`s inspection intervals and methods, and the adoption of the way which is used in relay interlock system became the cause of a failure by excessive and incorrect maintenance. The Human error in failure recovery process can cause vital accidents including train derailment, the points monitoring system could prevent this problem by monitoring points` operation condition in real time. After conducting the changed inspection intervals that applied the results of the criticality of each failure type, MTBF, MTTR, availability, maintainer`s opinion, the work became simplified, and, the failure did not occur for 4 consecutive years in contrast to the previous annual average of 11 failures.
Design of Reconfigurable Resonator with Cross Polarized SRR

We implemented double-negative metamaterials using cross-polarized split-ring resonators in a microstripline. The split-ring resonators comprised quad ring structures and were connected with the microstripline in series. Four different structures, with the shorted rings in varying locations, were fabricated to demonstrate reconfigurable band-pass characteristics. The effective permittivities and permeabilities were extracted using the Ziolkowski method. Excellent agreement between the developed circuit model and the measurement was observed up to 10 GHz.

Sumi-e is one of the art work that uses not only ink line but also color painting. This technique is well known as a representative Asian painting style and widely used in movie, advertisement poster and various effect in camera device. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can generate result image with Sumi-e effects of example image based on computer graphics and image processing techniques. For this, we pass two steps. The first is painting expression step. We used texture transfer technique to generate result with texture effect of reference image by analyzing numerically. The second step is ink-painting effect generation step. We express ink-painting effect in outline by considering intensity variation in edge of example image. Our algorithm can express various Sumi-e style based on selected reference image. So it can be utilized to various contents generating research.

The In this paper, we have made numerical experiments to compare 2D image reconstruction algorithm of earth model by electrical resistance tomograpy (ERT). Gauss-Newton, simultaneous iterative reconstruction technieque (SIRT) and truncated least squares (TLS) approaches for Wenner and Schlumberger electrode arrays are presented for the solution of the ERT image reconstruction. Computer simulations show that the Gauss-Newton and TLS approach in ERT are proper for 2D image reconstruction of an earth model.

Conditions that overlay multicast tree must satisfy for the real-time application system of a video-conference, an internet broadcasting is two things. First, the degree of nodes in a tree must be proper value. Second, the diameter of the multicast tree, distance between longest two users should be short. If the path between two users in the tree is long, the delay time in data transmission between two users great. So, it is not suitable to the application system such as video-conferences. In this paper, the cost of the dijkstra algorithm calculate with proposed score-function through checking the extra bandwidth, the delay and the requested bandwidth. It is composed the tree through the dijkstra algorithm.
Design of a Transmission Line using Defected Ground Structure and Artificial Dielectric Substrate

In this work, a new high frequency transmission line structure combined with defected ground structure (DGS) and artificial dielectric substrate (ADS) structure is proposed. DGS patterns give add the additional inductance to transmission lines and results in the increased characteristic impedance for a given line width. To the contrary, ADS presents increased capacitance and reduced line impedance. So both play a role in reducing the length of transmission lines commonly, but in preserving the line impedance complementarily. This means that the length of transmission lines can be reduced furtherly by DGS and ADS without a critical change of line width compared to the cases when one of DGS and ADS is used only. As examples,
transmission lines having DGS and ADS are designed, fabricated, measured, and compared to the simulation results. A good agreement between the simulated and measured line impedances is presented. In addition, the physical lengths of the proposed transmission lines are only 55.4~76.9% of those of the normal microstrip lines for the same electrical lengths.

Doppler spread is the major cause of the bit error rate(BER) performance deterioration. Compared to the existing PSAM method, the more performance deterioration occurs, the larger Doppler spread appears but performance shows well its less

Diverse application service such as mobile payment, access control or smart poster have been provided by using smart devices with built-in Near Field Communication technology. Especially, a mobile payment system can provide convenience to its users, but it also can poses including data disclosure while transmitting. There are vulnerabilities while generating session keys used to encrypt data in transaction processes as proposed in KS X 6928, the standard for mobile payment system. Therefore, in this thesis, I analyzed weaknesses of session keys used to encrypt transaction data and proposed a more secure mobile payment system based on NFC to enhance security. The proposed system will provide security functionalities such as key freshness, mutual authentication and key confirmation.

The cross-sections of continuous multi-span beams are sometimes suddenly increased or stepped at the interior supports of continuous beams to resist high negative moments. This paper investigates inelastic lateral-torsional buckling of monosymmetric stepped I-beams subjected to pure bending. A three-dimensional finite-element program ABAQUS and a regression program were used to analytically develop new design equation. The flange thickness ratio, flange width ratio and stepped length ratio were considered as parameters of this study. The combined effects of residual stresses and geometric imperfection on inelastic lateral-torsional buckling of beams are considered. The proposed solution can be easily used to calculation for inelastic lateral torsional buckling strengths of monosymmetric beams with doubly stepped cross sections and to develop new design equations for inelastic lateral-torsional buckling resistances of stepped beams.
Study of Structural Design Method of Friction Pendulum System for Fail Safe of a Sky-Bridge

If a sky-bridge is rigidly connected to adjacent buildings, the irregularity of the connected structures is increased resulting in providing a worse seismic behavior. Therefore, a friction pendulum system (FPS) or lead rubber bearing (LRB) is frequently used for the connection system between a sky-bridge and building structures. These connection systems should be carefully designed to prevent a skyfall of a sky-bridge subjected to severe seismic loads. In this paper, the inevitable structural design procedures for a sky-bridge connection system using a friction pendulum system without uplift resistance capacity have been investigated. To this end, Nuri Dream Square building structure is used as a example structure. The structural design process of a friction pendulum system for fail safe of a sky-bridge has been proposed in this paper by evaluating structural responses of the sky-bridge and building structures subjected to earthquake loads.

The new developed train(HEMU-430X) faces running at high speed over 400km/h. But The Korea railway design code gives guidelines below 350km/h speed. Honam HighSpeed Railway was also designed based on the design standard below 350km/h. Existing infra structures have to be reviewed at high speed running and the design guideline for the speed over 350km/h should be prepared as soon as possible. This paper presents (1) the simulation results of composite steel girder bridge(Kaya Bridge of Seoul-Pusan HighSpeed Railway), (2) values measured at this bridge and the comparison with simulation results, and (3) the prediction of Yonjung bridge being constructed in Honam HighSpeed Railway.

Evaluation indices of the panelizing optimization for Architectural freeform surfaces are proposed for quantitative evaluation through the case studies on panelizing optimization and evaluation index for Architectural freeform surfaces. Proposed evaluation items are adherence to original design intent, production ease, and continuity. The evaluation index for adherence to original design intent is surfaces fitness, the evaluation indices for production ease are planarity, planar panel ratio, and the evaluation indices for continuity are tangent continuity, and divergence. Algorithms are also suggested to compute the proposed evaluation indices.

This study focuses the architectural planning solution and guiding principle for English only classroom spatial layout and operation program to establish English educational environment proper to English curriculum contents and methodology by the grade level of elementary school. To accomplish this purpose of the study, this study proceeds as follows. First, the English facility condition such as type of classroom, retainment and floor space were researched and analyzed through the nationwide survey for elementary schools to understand English educational environment. Second, the study analyzes English educational procedures, contents and methodology and most typical educational scenes, facilities and equipments are extracted through the analysis. Finally, the study pursues the spatial layout factors and proposes the architectural planning principle for English only classroom to provide English educational environment per its size and type.

The purpose of this study was to propose the categorized checklist for fire risk assessment on the wooden cultural properties and to carry out field survey. The survey checklist was composed of categories such as management and administration measures(management, training and countermeasure), architectural planning measures(site plan and facility plan), and equipment measures(fire-fighting and crime prevention facility). In this study, the field survey was carried out in the Nae-jang-sa and Wha-um-sa and it was found that there were some problems in the items which were assessed importantly by experts.

The performance of concrete structure decreases with change in time and the external environment. In order to reinforce the structure, the research about new material development and application of newly developed materials are widely conducted. In the case of composite FRP, it received good attention in the academia due to its high intensity-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistency as well as good workability. When applying at the construction field, however, the utilization of FRP did not increase as much due to lack of reliability and design standard. Current study investigated the material characteristics during the temperature change at high temperature and the structural behavior from restraint effect for GFRP reinforcing materials. Two experimental variables were set in this study: GFRP reinforcements due to tensile properties of temperature and restraint compression effects. Three concrete specimen were selected for each set temperatures. For this reason, as a variable to experiment with the effects confined compression concrete members value and tensile properties with temperature reinforcement GFRP, experiment produced three pieces each for each set temperature, the concrete specimen, which is confined in the GFRP was selected each I did. For the temperature change during the experiment, the concrete specimen were mounted in order to expose to experimental high temperature for certain period of time. For compression performance evaluation, reinforcement effect from horizontal constraint of the fiber were measured using an Universal Material Testing Machine (UTM). Finally, this study revealed that the binding characteristics of GFRP materials from temperature change decreased. Also, this study showed that the maximum compression intensity decreased as the temperature increased up to
in the constraints ability of the GFRP reinforcements during the horizontal constraint of concrete.
Estimation of Contribution Ratio and Community Sewerage Treatment Efficiency by using Advanced Sewage Treatment in the Basin of Hongcheon-river

This paper calculated advanced sewage treatment efficiency and reduction pollution loads to estimation contribution ratio of for community sewerage in Hongcheon-gun County. The A2/O and SBR methods showed overall high treatment efficiency of 95% and 94% respectively, and SS was 80%. On the other hand, T-N and T-P showed relatively low processing efficiency of 56% and 60% respectively, but it was observed that SS showed high 96% in the MBR method. Next, by the result of yearly water change analysis on water quality of Hongcheon River which is the discharge river of community sewerage, it was observed that water quality was greatly deteriorated by COD, T-N and T-P. However, installation and operation of community sewerage showed high pollution load reduction in general water quality item by more than 80%, and in T-N and T-P by 58% and 68% respectively. It is expected that community sewerage will greatly contribute in water quality improvement of Hongcheon River.
Analytical Study on Vibrational Properties of Vibro-hammer

In order to analyze a pile constructed by vibro-hammer, vibrational characteristics of vibro-hammer should be investigated first. Analytical studies were conducted in order to investigate vibrational properties of vibro-hammer. It is thought that the concept of acting the spring force to the pile head should be replaced by the concept of considering the lumped mass of the exciter and the pile. For the situation of free vibration, spring force increase with increase of spring constant and the amplitude is little affected by the spring constant. Also for the situation of free vibration, amplitude is inversely proportional to the increase of mass of the exciter and it can be seen that spring force increase with amplitude by the same ratio. It can be seen that directions of the spring force and displacement are opposite to that of rotating mass.
Expressed Sequence Tag Analysis of Toxic Alexandrium tamarense and Identification of Saxitoxin Biosynthetic Genes

Expressed sequence tag (EST) library was constructed from A. tamarense. Base sequences of EST clones were analyzed and saxitoxin biosynthesis-related genes were cloned. Sequences of 827 clones were analyzed and 564 EST were functionally clustered using Blast searches against GenBank. Main genes in the EST had functions on cellular organization, cell metabolism, energy, cell cycle and DNA processing, cellular transport and transport, cell rescue, defense, death and aging, and transcription. Moreover, expression of S-adenosylmethionine synthetase and H2A histone family genes were increased in the toxic A. tamarense. These results show that two genes could be a good biomarkers for the detection of saxitoxin biosynthesis in the A. tamarense.
Changes of Phenolics, Antioxidant Activities and Fatty Acid Contents of Rhizophora mangle Exposed to Heavy Metals

Changes of phenolics, antioxidant activities and fatty acid contents were determined in the mangrove plant exposed to Cu, Ni and Cd. Propagules of Rhizophora mangle were cultured for 12 weeks under the Cu (0.01 and 1 ppm), Ni (0.1 and 10 oom) and Cd (0.1 and 10 ppm) stresses. In comparison with control, morphological changes of mangrove root were not observed in 12 weeks. Significant changes of phenolics were not detected and antioxidant activities were dramatically increased in the metal-treated mangroves. Fatty acid, C14:1, C15:1 and C18:3n-6, contents were changed in the all of tested propagules. These results shows that DPPH radical scavenging assay and determination of fatty acid contents could be useful biomarkers for diagnosing responses of mangrove plant under heavy metal stress.
