A Study on Surface roughness in High speed face milling machining of Al2024

In many manufacturing such as the components of airplane and automobile, aluminum alloys(Al2024) which remarkable in low specific gravity and high strength have been utilized effectively. Face milling machining technology for surface roughness quality of workpiece has been applied in these fields. A face milling machining with chamfered throw away type insert tip can produce a perfect flat surface only in theory. But It is impossible because of many unwanted factors, namely, cutting temperature, plastic deformation, dynamic effect, etc. In this paper, experimental investigations are performed to improve surface roughness after high speed machining of Al2024 using qualified face milling cutter body for high speed machining.
A Study on the Efficiency Analysis for the Automotive Parts Manufacturer Using Data Envelopment Analysis

Due to the recent global recession, the car industry demand levels have plummeted which led to a crisis in the automotive parts industry for the first time in history. Since the fourth quarter of 2008, the automotive parts manufacturers in America have faced a record loss and those in Japan and Europe who also had a strong track record are facing a weak economy. In addition, the domestic automotive parts industry is also affected by the global economic crisis. This research is that the relative efficiency analysis utilizing the DEA has done on the object of 25 small and medium-sized automotive parts manufacturers publicly listed, As the efficiency analysis result 6 of 25 manufacturers are efficient in CCR model and 12 manufactures have shown efficiency in BCC model, the efficiency analysis in consideration of the manufacturer size. The manufacturers with efficiency 1 in 25 manufacturers are DMU 1, 5, 7, 10, 18, 24 and the relatively benchmarking objects in other manufactures are DMU 1, 10, 24, Based on the results of this research, a direction to the domestic automotive parts manufacturers as well as a significant information will be provided in managing the companies in the future by the improvement of management efficiency through the practical efficiency analysis.
Development on mechanism for opening sensitivity quality improvement of oven range door using nonlinear cam and spring

Most of oven range doors are opened from top to down. Feeling of door in case of home appliances including oven ranges affects the quality of product. The major factors to evaluate the feeling quality are opening force, closing force, and bouncing effect happened when the door is opened completely. If opening and closing forces become large, consumers may have complaints. If the bouncing effect becomes large, the impact can cause the body as well as the door to damage. Opening and closing forces, and bouncing effect must be minimized to improve the feeling quality. In this study, the mechanism which improves the existed dual compressive spring and cam structure is suggested by using nonlinear cam and spring. After the nonlinear cam is designed and manufactured for the suggested mechanism, this cam is confirmed to become more superior than the existed one by applying it to the practical oven range.
Performance comparison of cascade refrigerator and two-stage compression refrigerator

In order to obtain a low evaporation temperature ranging from
, a cascade refrigeration system and two-stage compression one-stage expansion refrigeration system is required. However, the research results of performance comparison of these refrigeration system are very scarce. This paper were compared the performance characteristics of R744-R404A cascade refrigeration system and R404A two-stage compression refrigeration system. The COP of R404A two-stage compression refrigeration system is about 36~57% greater than that of R744-R404A cascade refrigeration system in the range of evaporation temperature of
. But R404A two-stage compression refrigeration system is unstable because COP is significantly changed when evaporating temperature and compressor efficiency decreased. In particular, when compressor efficiency decreased, COP is significantly decreased. In this case, not efficient for long-term use. Whereas R744-R404A cascade refrigeration system using natural refrigerants. Therefore, it is environmentally friendly. And this system is high-efficiency refrigeration system. The reason it can be configured by selecting the suitable refrigerant at high-temperature side and low-temperature side. From the above results, select the appropriate low temperature refrigeration system by considering the environmental and performance aspects.
A Study on the Application of PIDO Technique for the Maintenance Policy Optimization Considering the Performance-Based Logistics Support System

In this paper the concept of the performance-based logistics (PBL) support for weapon systems is discussed and an enhancement is studied such that prior to the Operational phase, the development of the PBL can begin from the Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase together with multiple performance indices considered. The genetic algorithm should be considered for the complex system to solve the maintenance policy optimization. In particular, the requirement of repair level analysis model is developed based on reflecting the PBL concept. To decide the maintenance policy prior to Operational phase in accordance with customer requirements, the PIDO(Process Integration and Design Optimization) technique useful in choosing the performance indices and changing the constraints was used. The genetic algorithm of PIDO tool, like PIAnO and ModelCenter, was verified that it could be applied to optimize the maintenance policy.
A Study to Develop a Multiple Container Transportation System

This paper presents results of a study for development and application of container massive transportation system. The system is aimed to improve competing power of Korean container ports. This paper selects Double stack Multi-Trailer System (DMTS) under consideration of pros-con analysis between three systems alternatives as well as operation process of existing Korean container terminal companies. An analysis of turning radius is undertaken for applying the system. Key elementary technologies was derived by patent analysis. DMTS has no problems in utilization to existing Korean container ports. Further, the system is expected to highly potential to improve operational efficiency in the container ports thanks to its high unit transportation capacity.
Estimation of Empirical Fatigue Crack Propagation Model of AZ31 Magnesium Alloys under Different Specimen Thickness Conditions

It is the primary aim of this paper to propose the empirical fatigue crack propagation model fit to describe a crack growth behavior of AZ31 magnesium alloys under the different specimen thickness conditions. The empirical models estimated are Paris-Erdogan model, Walker model, Forman model, and modified-Forman model. The parameters of each model are estimated by maximum likelihood method. The statistical crack growth data needed for an estimation of empirical models are obtained by fatigue crack propagation tests under the three cases of specimen thickness. It is found that the good empirical models fit to describe a crack growth behavior of AZ31 magnesium alloys under the different specimen thickness conditions are Paris-Erdogan model and Walker model. It is also verified that a fatigue crack growth rate exponent of a empirical model may be a material constant at the specimen thickness conditions of 4.75mm and 6.60mm.
Development of LPI Vehicle Fuel Filter Housing

Computer simulation has been performed to optimize cold forging process of automotive LPI fuel filter housing. A mold and the test product have been manufactured considering the strain and load distribution during the cold forging process. Also, fuel flow simulation has been performed to analyze flow characteristics of existing model and new model. Simulation result shows that two models have equivalent pressure drop. Compared with the mass of existing product, raw material reduction of 16 g and 30.5 g has been achieved from the upper and lower housing, respectively. Total mass reduction of the new housing was 46.5 g. Leak test and internal pressure test have been performed to verify the safety standard and test results were satisfactory.
A Study on the Elongation of Polymer Extrusion Film

Optimization of process parameters in polymer extrusion is an important task to reduce manufacturing cost. To determine the optimum values of the process parameters, it is essential to find their influence on the elongation of polymer breathable thin film. The significance of six important process parameters namely, extruder cylinder temperature, extruder speed, extruder dies temperature, cooling roll temperature, stretching ratio, stretching roll temperature on breathable film elongation of polymer extrusion was determined. Moreover, this paper presents the application of Taguchi method and analysis of variance(ANOVA) for maximization of the breathable film elongation influenced by extrusion parameters. The optimum parameter combination of extrusion process was obtained by using the analysis of signal-to-noise ratio. The conclusion revealed that stretching ratio were the most influential factor on the film elongation. The best results of film elongation were obtained at lower stretching ratio.
Development of a PTC Heater for Supplementary Heating in a Diesel Vehicle

Using positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heater as supplementary heating for diesel engine vehicles with low heat source is a good method to enhance the heating performance during cold start. In this study, the PTC elements were made by using screen printing process for forming ohmic contact layer, and prototype of PTC heater was designed and made for a diesel engine vehicle. In process of designing the PTC heater, the thermal flow analysis of PTC element modules was conducted for verifying the effect of the shapes of contact surface between each of the components (cooling fin, insulator, ceramic element). We also investigated the performance characteristic (heating capacity, energy efficiency, pressure drop) of the PTC heater through the experiments. Therefore, the experimental results indicated that prototype of PTC heater had satisfactory performance. This study will be basis for improving the manufacturing process and increasing the performance of the PTC element and heater.
Advertising Regulations for Juvenile Protection: Problems and Alternatives

The purpose of this study is to analyze the advertising regulations for juvenile protection, find their problems and suggest the alternatives for their improvements. All media products harmful to juveniles including advertising are regulated by the Juvenile Protection Act. The regulations related with advertising for juvenile protection of the Special Act on Safety Control of Children's Dietary Life, the Broadcasting Advertising Review Regulations and the National Health Improvement Act were analyzed. The results were: 1)the weaknesses of the implementation of the regulations with lack a little consistency and a lack of objectivity; 2)the necessity of the newly established articles with the times; and 3) the urgency of the establishment of alcohol advertising regulations. In conclusion, it has been suggested that the integrated advertising regulations or guidelines by the unitary review board should be implemented.
Products of Organic Cotton Brand and Color Analysis for Baby Wear-Comparative Analysis of Domestic and Japanese Brands

Since the infants' skin is very weak and has poor adaptability to environment, they are vulnerable to dermatitis by chemicals. Organic cotton for baby wear with the same functions in inner and outer wears can be considered the most suitable fiber. Therefore, this study was to analyze products and colors of domestic and Japanese baby wear brands which use organic cotton. Of total six organic brands for baby wear, there are three domestic baby wear brands and three Japanese brands, and design colors of total 213 items were examined on the web. The results of comparative analysis showed that there were more Japanese brands than domestic brand in designs by uses. Color analysis showed that natural cotton color was preferred and YR colors are commonly used, but the colors of Japanese brands were widely distributed and those of domestic brands were relatively narrow.
A Study on the Improvement of the Korean Accounting Stipulations of The Long term Care Facilities

The current accounting for the long term care facilities are enforced by either financial accounting stipulations of social welfare legal entity or the guiding principles of long term care insurance law. In addition, some facilities are not eligible to access to the Korea Health and Welfare information system and even don't have any obligation to report financial information. Thus financial position and performance of activities are not well known to the interested parties. This study investigated the way how to improve the current accounting stipulation of the long term care facilities. In conclusion, we should introduce the accounting standards based on the double entry system but on other aspect, also more simplified financial statement based on single entry system for smaller facilities. Also we should introduce three important appropriation accounts for the net income of institution which matches GAAP. For a successful plantation of accounting standards, it is necessary to establish provisions, government subsidy account, depreciations concept.
Analysis on the Spillover Effect of Firm's R＆D Investment

R&D investment has rised in recent years. Korea's R&D budget is 43.8 trillion won which is 3.74% adjusted gross domestic product in 2010. Technological advances and technical inovation will bring productivity growth to Firm and Firm's productivity growth will increase GDP in sequence. Therefore the importance of study on the Firm's R&D industry is getting growing. In this study we attempt to analyse the economic impact of the Firm's R&D industry through several years using an inter-industry analysis. Specifically, this study analyze production-inducing effect, value added inducing effect, and employ-inducing effect based on demand-driven model. The analysed results of year from 1995 to 2009, the Firm's R&D investment increases production-inducing effect, value added inducing effect, and employ-inducing effect with the course of time. This means that influence of the Firm's R&D industry has increased.
The Effects of Satisfaction in Elderly Care Facilities and Daily Stress of the Elderly on Depression and Self-esteem

This research aimed to empirically investigate the effects of satisfaction in Elderly Care Facilities (ECF) and daily stresses of aged people on their depression and self-esteem. Subjects were 271 visitors to 8 ECFs located in Central Korea including Seoul. The data was collected by the survey on them, conducted from March 3 to August 25, 2013. By analyzing the data, we found that the satisfaction with service utilization in ECF can reduce depression, while the satisfaction with medical rehabilitation service may increase depression and that the satisfaction with physical environment can reduce self-esteem. Also, the results showed that the stress related to family relationship has a positive effect on depression and a negative effect on self-esteem. and that the stress concerning residential environment can decrease self-esteem. Depression and self-esteem of the elderly can be predicted by satisfaction in ECFs, but not better than by their daily stresses. Among the predictors of depression and self-esteem, in this study, stress concerning family relationship is the most significant and the strongest.
The Effects of Social․Task Cohesion on Technological Innovation in New Product Development Team: Moderating Role of Climate for Creativity Support to Team

Although team cohesion can be a double-edged sword, empirical studies have focused positive effect of team cohesion. This study claims that team cohesion can be divided social task cohesion, so we can investigate positive effect of social cohesion and negative effect of task cohesion on technological innovation. Cohesion emphasize homogeneity, thus creativity supporting team climate alleviate negative effect of social cohesion and increase positive effect of task cohesion. This study has used materials collected from 205 NPD teams The results show negative effect of social cohesion(
=-.19, p<.01), positive effect of task cohesion(
=.18, p<.05), positive interactive effect between social cohesion and creativity supporting team climate(

A Study on Optimal Design of a Military Automated Logistics Center with Simulation and AHP

Modernization projects are actively underway to replace conventional logistics equipment for the development of the 21st century logistics management system. The modernized logistics system is expected to expand to each troops on future. In this paper, we deal with simulation of automated logistics center to analyse the current system. Especially, the alternative to the same scale is designed based on needs of military distinctiveness. As a result, it can be effectively compared the current system. The result obtained in this design process is comprehensively analyzed by the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The proposed method in this study is allowed to cost-effectively evaluate current and future automated logistics center. And, that is expected to contribute to modernization projects of the military logistics system.
Impact of Flight Attendants' Emotional Intelligence on the Service Quality and Organization

In this study, emotional intelligence which is defined as knowing yourself and other people's emotions and the ability to use regulation was judged as an important factor for the service quality implementation of aircraft crew members perform to work in special circumstances. And the purpose of this study is how emotional Intelligence affects job satisfaction and organizational loyalty. So we analyze the emotional intelligence of the K domestic airline crew in this study. This study showed that emotional intelligence affect high quality of service to perform the work well and contribute to job satisfaction. And job satisfaction has a positive impact on organizational loyalty also. Therefore, the ability of airlines to improve service quality as well as performing work also for the emotional intelligence to increase satisfaction and loyalty unplug staffs and it will require ongoing sensitivity training.
The effect of a child's personality and temperament on peer competence

This research was conducted to investigate what effect personal relationship personality and temperament have on peer competence of a child. To carry out the research, this experiment subjected 137 preschoolers with age range of 4 to 5 years old attending in 5 education institution for preschoolers in Seoul. The result showed that personal relationship personality of a child and his temperament hold certain influence on peer competence. To take a detailed look on this matter we divided the independent variable into low factors. The result showed that the peer competence was influenced by the introverted personality and outgoing personality which are the sub factors of personality and was also affected by physiological regulation and adaptability which is the sub factor of the temperament.
A Study of the Multi Ground Based of ISD centered on Standardizing Competency ＆ Dual Major for Developing a Convergence Human Resource

This study aim to arrange ISD from the competency context and from the Dual major base of junior colleges related to Dept. of Administrative Professional. By analysing the curricula of the Korean capital area junior colleges of secretarial service, extracted some ability factor and classified it on the basis of NCS and competency grouping. From this, the basic direction of Standardizing Competency can be determined and it applied to develop ISD. Thus the Multi ground base of ISD can be constructed which served on developing a convergence human resource. It may give an implication and practical methodology for the junior colleges of secretarial service related Dept. to make a framework for developing a multi ground based ISD which can be designed from the multiple competency and from more than two complex major.
The Effect Factors of Survival rate in the Patients with Cardiac Arrest

This study was performed to determine the effect factors in the survival of cardiac arrest patients. This study involved 4,092 cardiac arrest patients of K province, who were transported by 119 during 2010. The data collection involved using 119 rescue daily reports, cardiopulmonary arrest patients emergency treatment detail reports and 119 paramedics survival data. In conclusion, 119 rescue's interventions in the patients with pre-hospital cardiac arrest have significantly increased survival rates. 119 rescue's interventions included early defibrillation, oxygen supply, airway open, and intravenous access affected significantly survival rate. Therefore there is need to increase 119 rescue's interventions performance to improve survival rate of cardiac arrest patients.
Analysis on RTS and the Change of Productivity Efficiency of Public General Hospitals in Vietnam using Parametric and Non-Parametric Approach

This study estimated productivity change and RTS using Parametric and Non-Parametric approach with 5 year annual data from 2006 to 2010 of 20 public general hospitals in Vietnam collected from Ho Chi Min City Health Department of Health Database. The results could be summarized as follows; First, by the Non-Parametric approach. cumulated productivity growth of 5 years was increased by 2.8% due to regress 5.2% of technical efficiency, 0.3% of pure technical efficiency, but scale efficiency was decreased 5.1% Second, by the Non-Parametric approach, cumulated productivity growth was decreased by 12.8% to due to drop of 17.1% of technical change, 9.1% of scale efficiency. In conclusion, the common result of both approaches was that scale inefficiencies occurs in public hospitals in Vietnam, and they affected productivity change of public hospitals in Vietnam. Namely, 70% to 80% of the analyzed Vietnam public hospitals were at the status of DRS(decreased returns to scale), which suggested that they had oversupply beds relative to the number of occupied patients, it was meaningful that this study was the first study in Korea to measure efficiency and productivity change of Vietnamese public general hospitals and so it could be utilized as the basic information needed to enter hospital industry of Vietnam in the future.
A study on the Recognition of Pet Dogs between Companion Animal Majors and Non-Majors

The purpose of this study is to understand the recognition of pet dogs between companion animal majors and non-majors regarding preference, knowledge, competence, role, image, use of pet dogs. A survey was conducted among 164 high school and college, university students from rural areas, medium and large cities, comprised of both companion animal majors and non-majors. The collected data was processed with
-test to see statistical significance between the two groups. The result showed a significance of (p<0.05) in competence as companion and working dogs and in Animal-Assisted Therapy for physically and psychologically challenged patients. Also, there was a great gap between two groups in recognizing pets and companion animals. Therefore, it is required to develop and implement policy programs that expand people's understanding on roles and competence of companion animals so that they can be identified as a real life companion beyond pets.
CRM Efforts, Different Paths to Loyalty: Members and Non-members in the Hotel Industry

Since it is essential to have good relationships with customers for their loyalty, the importance of CRM has been increasing. While CRM attempts to satisfy different segments of customers with different strategies, there are not many studies conducted to examine the effect of CRM efforts on those different customers. This study explored to examine how those different customers respond to the CRM efforts depending on their memberships in the hotel industry. As results of the study, it was found that for all customers without and with membership, the effect of maintaining stage of CRM process was significant. However, for customers without membership, the maintaining stage of CRM process have positive effect on both satisfaction and commitment while for customers with membership, its effect was significant only on commitment.
A Study on the Perception and Need of Early Childhood Education Field on Authentication of Teaching Materials and Implements for Young Children

The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception and need of the early childhood education field on authentication of teaching materials and implements for young children. To achieve this, a survey was carried out on 350 teachers and directors in Daejeon-based kindergartens and child-care centers from September 21 to September 30, 2013. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, 59.4% of them thought that it needed the evaluation authentication of teaching materials and implements for young children. 32.9% of them had a high perception of the early childhood education field. 39.4% of them had high need of the early childhood education field. And 45.1% of them expected a high effect of introducing the evaluation authentication system of teaching materials and implements for young children. Second, most of them had the highest need of the evaluation authentication of teaching materials and implements for young children in terms of education, followed by function and field. And most of them placed the highest emphasis on social development, safety and language in terms of education, function and field, respectively. Consequently, the use of teaching materials and implements, which the social development and safety in terms of education and function are respectively evaluated and authenticated by the diversity of teaching materials and implements for young children, has need of the high evaluation and authentication of teaching materials and implements that can guarantee the quality when young children use a lot of experiment and observation implements such as block play, reading materials, manipulating materials, making implements.
An Analysis related with Suicide Impulse according to Family Intimacy of Aged People in a Metropolis and a Fishing Village

The purpose of this research is to analyze related with suicide impulse according to family intimacy of the aged people in a metropolis and a fishing village. Subject of the research were 100 aged people residing at N Goo, Seoul from March 10 to July 29 in 2013 and 100 aged people residing at S-myon, Wando-gun, JeollaNam-do from May 17 to September 20 in 2013 respectively through questionnaire survey. Analysis on data was executed for t-test, correlation analysis, multiple regression method, etc. using SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Empirical analysis was verified at 5% of significance level. From the result of the analysis, firstly, suicide impulse of aged people in a metropolis was high when family adaptation capability of them was low. Secondly, suicide impulse of aged people in a metropolis showed significant correlation with family adaption capability. Thirdly, suicide impulse of aged people in a metropolis was higher than that of aged people in a fishing village. It is thought that this thesis can suggest a good reference document in establishing a suicide prevention policy for enhancing intimacy of family function.

The purpose of this study is to analyze storytelling factors and mathematics contents of 'Eddy, the clever fox' on TV animation. The scenario and animation were analyzed according as criterion based on relevant materials. The results are as follows: First, Characters are 11 animals, Eddy is a problem solver. An ordinary story happens in the snow-covered woodland village. There is no story plot. And the story consists dialogue, song and narration. Second, mathematics contents in the animation appear in order number sense, geometry, measurement, data analysis and probability, pattern. So 'Eddy, the clever fox' is valuable as edutainment.
Testing for validity of isometric muscle endurance test as an abdominal muscular endurance evaluation methods

The current study was undertaken to verify appropriateness of muscle endurance test at three different angles (
) of isometric contraction position, and to sought valid and reliable testing method that provide an alternative to sit-ups. Total 92 young and healthy subjects (68 males and 24 females) were recruited, and the following results were obtained. 1. A low correlations in males, but a high correlations in females was found when the comparisons were made between aerobic and muscle endurance capability. 2. Measuring tolerance time, by using isometric contraction was showed a significant correlation with the repetition numbers of sit-ups. 3. The highest correlation was found at 40 inclined degrees of plane, and the lowest correlation was drawn from 50 inclined degrees of plane. Based on these results, it was concluded that measuring tolerance time during maintaining an isometric contraction at 40 inclined degrees of plane is a valid and effective tool for measuring abdominal muscle endurance, and it can be used as an alternative way of sit-up, which potentially risky for inducing many back-associated injuries. Further studies need to be undertaken to determine for optimal angles, that can safely be applied for people of various age groups and physical conditions.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the versatility of indecisive clients which is one of the seven key factors to identify indecisiveness by analyzing Holland's 3-letter code with consistency and calculus. By implementing the method of Occupational Card Sort, all six clients showed low consistency in the three codes as well as between the first code and their thesis statements. They also showed mismatching of three codes evaluated with the thesis statements. From observing calculus from the hexagonal model, all six Holland codes showed balanced development and similarity of calculus between the codes in adjacent. The result of the study finds that various interests may cause indecision in one's career decision-making.
An Analysis on Impact of Jeju Field Citrus Industry by FTA between Korea and China

This study was carried out to measure and analyze impact of Jeju field citrus industry by FTA between China and Korea. Previous research has some limitation to find impacts of Jeju citrus industry according to effectuation of Korea-China FTA. In this study, Supply-Demand equilibrium model and 4 scenarios is specified to find more detail impacts of Jeju field citrus industry. According to the results, the decrement of total revenue of Jeju field citrus industry after 15 years from effectuation of Korea-China FTA will be about 440.7 billion Won.

This study investigated the associations between youths' perceived parental control, psychological/behavioral problems, and self-differentiation in a sample of 355 middle and high school students. The sex differences in these variables, and the influences of perceived parental control and self-differentiation on youths' psychological and behavioral problems were analyzed. The mediating effects of self-differentiation between parental control and youths' psychological/behavioral problems, and between psychological and behavioral problems were also investigated. Some sex differences in the variables were found. Youths' psychological and behavioral problems were influenced by self-differentiation and parental psychological control. The mediating effects of self- differentiation were significant either complete or partial way.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of changes occurred during the early child hood multimedia education in order to understand experiences and thoughts of Preservice Early Childhood Teachers who have participated in early child hood multimedia education. As a result of the study, firstly Preservice Early Childhood Teachers experienced changes of insight and awareness on the existing multimedia through multimedia education. Secondly, regarding providing multimedia to early child, Preservice Early Childhood Teachers realized that early child will experience various multimedia in addition to educational sites and it is inevitable. Thirdly, in relation to the classes related to multimedia education, Preservice Early Childhood Teachers were not be able to connect between multimedia and early child education and they felt burden to use them for the purpose of the education. Lastly, as Preservice Early Childhood Teachers experienced that their negative thoughts on multimedia were changed to positive through the education on early child hood multimedia education, they required detailed education on multimedia.

This study is case study. The purpose of this study is to analysis 'the project of market' connected with ESD in early childhood education and to examine children's meaningful experiences during the process. This study was carried out in the kindergarten in K city, Chunng-Nam. 5-year children of 2 classes were participated. The results of this study concluded as follows: 'The project of market' showed the possibilities of ESD through reconstructing the existing curriculum. In every stage of the project, skills of ESD were included and developed. This project reflected the key concepts of social, environmental, economic areas. This project resulted by integrated curriculum, participatory engagement, multiple instructional methods.

The purpose of thesis was to examine an effect of physical activities with peer competence for children. In this study, 44 children in the age of 5 in 2nd Kindergarten located in K city, Chungnam. The subjects were 22 children(11 boys and 10 girls) in A Kindergarten are selected in order to conduct physical activities based on cooperation and 22 children(10 boys and 11 girls) in B Kindergarten as a comparison group to implement individual-oriented physical activities. We applied the program in the total of 20 times at 30 minutes each time, and 2 times in each session for a total of 10 weeks. For peer competence tests, a measure for peer competence is used, which is developed for children. The results are as followed. firstly, the physical activity programs developed in the study on peer competence of five-year old children. secondly, Secondly, the activities improved every sub-factors of the peer competence such as sociability, pro-sociability, proactive. In addition, the study suggests a theoretical basis that can be used as practical measures of physical activity in the children. In addition, the physical activities in peer competence could build good inter-personal relationship through active interaction among the infants and lead positive impact on the development of their sociality.

This paper deals with the novel concept of neo-endogenous rural development which has been applied to explain the contemporary features of the European rural development. The notion of neo-endogenous rural development has been emerged in Europe because the pervious dichotomous concepts of exogenous and endogenous development are no longer useful for explaining the relationship between the local actors and the central or regional administrative organisations. The concept argues that the changing situation of rural regions at the initial stages of endogenous development could only be identified by the concept of neo-endogenous perspectives. Therefore, it tries to apply the concept for the Korean rural development policy which is called Regional Agricultural Cluster scheme. Explaining the development processes and the problems of the farmers group which carried out the project in a local level, this paper argues that the severe conflict between the farmers group and the City Office may be a typical incident of the neo-endogenous development. It expresses the power relations between the local groups and the political managing authority. With the case of the Prundle, it concludes that the neo-endogenous development is the essential stage for all the endogenous development to go through as an transitional one.
Effects of Sociocultural Attitude toward Appearance, Body Image, and Self-Esteem on Appearance Management in Middle and High School Girls

This study was to investigate sociocultural attitude toward appearance, body image, and self-esteem predict the appearance management in middle and high school girls. A descriptive compare design was used with self-report questionnaires, which were completed by 384 subjects. Data was analyzed with t-test and regression. There were statistically significant differences in sociocultural attitude toward appearance (internalization, awareness), body image (appearance evaluation, appearance orientation, body area satisfaction), and appearance management (weight management, cloth management, face management) between the two groups. Regression analysis revealed sociocultural attitude toward appearance (internalization, awareness) and appearance orientation of body image were predictors of appearance management in middle school girls. The significant predictors of appearance management for high school girls were body image (appearance evaluation, appearance orientation, body area satisfaction). The study gives new suggestions that there is necessary different methods to educate and council for appearance management in middle and high school girls.
The Change Analysis about Health Behavior and Examination Result of Periodical Medical Examiner

The subject of investigation was 13,828 people who took periodical medical examiner in some health examination centers two times in 2009 and 2011 so as to analyze changes of borderline group, disease group for 4 diseases(hypertension, diabetes, liver disease, hyperlipemia) and health behavior of some medical examiner. For the contents of investigation, drinking and smoking habit was investigated as a general characteristic of subjects. For the items of health examination, there were SBP, DBP, AST, ALT, GGT, Glucose, Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride. The main results are as follows. In comparison with the starting year of research, drinking and smoking rate of the final year was reduced respectively by 1.6% and 1.4%. And, borderline group by examination items, hypertension was reduced by 2.2% from 62.0% to 59.8% in the final year in comparison with the starting year of investigation, And, fasting blood glucose was 17.1%, hyperlipemia was 6.6%, LFT was 2.0% for the reduction. In disease group, hypertension was reduced by 0.6% from 6.7% to 6.1%. And, fast blood glucose was 1.9%, hyperlipemia was 4.2%, LFT was 1.3% for reduction. Borderline group showed more reduction in comparison with disease group in all of items. The above results showed borderline group showed more reduction of manifestation rate than disease group in all of 4 diseases. Therefore, it's expected that disease group will show reduction in the future. But, it's necessary to study on future's changes through the continuous management and tracing observation.

A Survey of the Nursing Activities Performed by Nursing Staffs in Long-term care Hospitals

This study was to investigate of nursing activities performed by nursing staffs in long-term care hospitals. A survey of was conducted with 131 nurses who were working in 15 geriatric hospitals using a structural questionnaire. Data were collected from March 7 to June 30, 2013 and analyzed with SPSS 17.0, using descriptive statistics and t-test, ANOVA. This survey confirmed that the 88 activities except to 'making nursing diagnosis', 'setting nursing goals', and 'writting patient evaluation checklist' had been practiced in a wide range of nurses with nurse assistants. The degree of performance by nurse assistant was significantly different among nurses group according to the total number of patient and number of nurse(p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to establish the legal and institutional regulation and development of algorithm for delegation, classify the impossible nursing task and work that can be delegated long-term care hospital.
Effects of Activities of Daily Living and Self-Esteem on Life Satisfaction in Home-Dwelling Elderly

This study was performed to identify the effects of activities of daily living and self-esteem on life satisfaction in Home-dwelling elderly, and to find the strategies improving the elderly's life satisfaction. The participants were 153 in home-dwelling elderly from D city. Data were collected from July 20 to August 20, 2013 through a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and hierarchical regression analysis with the SPSS 20.0 program. There was a positive correlations between Activities of daily living, Self-esteem and Life satisfaction. Factors that have an effect on Life satisfaction were Leisure activity(
=-3.927, p<.05), Perceived health(
=-2.793, p<.05), Self-esteem(
=1.003, p<.001). These factors explain 53.5% of the variance in ife satisfaction.
Differences in Male and Female Spinopelvic Alignments in Middle School and High Schools Students of Gyeongnam Areas in Korea : a Three Dimensional Analysis Using Rasterstereography

This study investigated the patterns and correlations of spinopelvic alignments in in middle school and high schools students of Gyeongnam areas in Korea using rasterstereography. Sixty-one subjects were recruited from May to October 2013, the average age of subjects was
years. In the present results, PSIS ratio was statistically different between the sexes(male
%)(p<.01) and lordotic angle was statistically different between the sexes(male
)(p<.001), but other parameters were not statistically different between the sexes. However, we verified that lordotic angle was significant correlation separately with pelvic tilt(r=.348), kyphotic angle(r=.609). Surface rotation was significant correlation separately with kyphotic angle(r=-.278), lordotic angle(r=-.256), trunk inclination(r=.493). These finding could be used as basic data research to confirm normal pattern of spinopelvic alignment and balance in health adolescents, and might help understand adolescents with structure problem in spine and pelvis.
A Study on the Recognition of Men and Women highschool student's sexual abuse

Purpose of the study is to understand Men and Women highschool student's recognition of, attitude toward, and reaction to sexual violence in terms of men and women difference. The study data was collected from July 1st to 30th in 2013 from 563 highschool students in D city. SPSS 19.0 with percentage, real number and
_test is used to analyze the data. The result of the study is, the first, there is a significant difference in respondents' experience in sexual violence or harrassment. Secondly, different perspectives about including looking at the body insidiously, forcing lascivious writing or picture, sexual jokes, vulgar expression about appearance, or intentional body contacts in public transportation vehicles to the concept of sexual violence are found between boys and girls. Lastly, different recognitions, attitudes and reactions were produced according to the place and time of the sexual violence, victim-attacker relationship, the cause of the sexual violence, and attitude toward the victim when rescue.
Canonical correlation between organizational characteristics and barrier to medication error reporting of nurses

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between nurse's perception of organizational characteristics including safety climate and work environment and barrier to medication error reporting. Methods: We surveyed 334 nurses from 7 hospitals. An assessment survey was consisted of modified safety climate scale, practice environment scale and barrier to medication error reporting. The data were collected from September 2012. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, canonical correlation were used. Results: Organizational characteristics were related to barrier to medication error reporting with three significant canonical variables. The first canonical correlation coefficient was .50(Wilks'
=0.61, df=32, p<.001), that of the second was .35(Wilks'
=0.81, df=21, p<.001) and that of the third was .22(Wilks'
=0.93, df=12, p=.018). The first variate indicated higher perception of safety climate variables and work environment variables were related lower barrier to medication error reporting variables except fear for error reporting. The second variate showed higher perception of 'safety climate between healthcare provider' and higher 'nurse participation in hospital affairs' and 'staffing and resource adequacy' were related to lower 'fear' and 'administrative response' in barrier to medication error reporting variables. Conclusion: Strategies for barrier to medication error reporting and improvement of organizational characteristics including safety climate and work environment should be implemented.
An Influencing Health Promoting Behavior of Perceived Health Status and Self-Efficacy according to major of college students

The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing health promoting behavior of perceived health status and self-efficacy according to major of college students to develop health promoting interventions of college students. The subjects of this study were 592 college students in C city in Korea. Health promoting behavior was significantly higher(p=.014) in health related major students than none health related major students. There were significantly difference in "an time to school(p=.007)", "sleeping hours(p=.004)", "drinking(p=0.028)", "exercise(p<.001)", "exercise frequency(p=.012)" between health related major and none health related major. perceived health status(r=0.381, p<.001) and self efficacy(r=0.620, p<.001) were significantly positive relation to health promoting behavior. The other sub factor in self efficacy were confidence(p<.001), effort(p=.008), will(p=.001) and sub factor in perceived health status were present health(p<.001), health anxiety(p=.002), resistibility and sensitivity(p=.002) in none health related major students(
=0.432, F=38.620). We suggested that the results of this study be considered in developing health promoting programs through appropriate education and various activity of young adults.

This study selected 582 senior citizens who used 6 senior welfare centers in 7 districts, Daegu and analyzed questionnaires for them from January 9 through June 5, 2013 in order to look into their subjective oral health, social efficacy and quality of life according to their subjective cognition of oral health and their quality of life related to oral health according to sociodemographic characteristics and drew the following conclusions: Sex was statistically significant in toothache and xerostomia; age, in oral health, dysmasesis, toothache, periodontal complications and xerostomia; the level of education, in oral health, dysmasesis, toothache and periodontal complications; and the number of family members living together, in dysmasesis, toothache, periodontal complications, xerostomia and halitosis. Their responses to the question about their social efficacy according to oral health included: 'My oral health is not good' 3.11 points; and 'My jaw crackles or hurts' 1.99 points. In social efficacy according to their cognition of oral health, their health was 2.05 points while in the quality of life, their health was 3.41 points. In the scores of the quality of life related to oral health, for their health, functional limitation was 2.13 points; physical pain, 2.53; psychological discomfort, 2.17; physical limitation, 2.31; degradation of psychological ability, 2.06; degradation of social ability, 1.81; and social disadvantage, 1.99. In sum, it is judged that senior citizens' quality of life as well as their oral health will be enhanced when active seeking for plans to prevent the progress of oral diseases is sufficiently considered through continuously providing oral health education for the promotion of geriatric oral health and developing preventive programs.

This study applied an original survey of an objective National Health Nutriment Research. It picked the youth up from 14 years old to 19 years old and examined an influence relationship of four heads such as DT, DI, DMFT, DMFI which investigated in heads of dental inspections based on an intake frequency questionnaire by food group. It was proved that Korean dietary culture which eats rice and kimchi as staple food had an great effect on DT, DI, DMFT, DMFI And rice and cereals, fruits and vegetables like a cabbage turned out to be factors that can lower dental caries. The dental caries can be reduced by the more intake frequency of rice. And also, intake of fish like anchovy and meats like pork and beef can reduce development of dental caries too. Especially, the larger intake frequency of carbonated drinks and fast food such as hamburger and pizza can make a growth of dental caries.
A Sliding Mode Control Scheme for Inverted Pendulum System

A problem of sliding mode control is chattering because of controle input signal included unknown disturbance and nonlinear input parameters. This paper presents a sliding mode controller design to inverted pendulum system. In this paper, a sliding mode control algorithm to reduce a chattering is proposed. The reduction of chattering is accomplished by smoothing function for nonlinear control input. In this method, the dynamic equations of the inverted pendulum is decoupled by considering nonlinear parameters and external disturbances. Therefore, this study is applied to obtain switching control inputs for sliding mode controller. The proposed technique is tested to the control of inverted pendulum through computer simulations. The result shown reduced chattering in control input.
A Low-Power Design and Implementation of the Portable Device for Measuring Temperature and Humidity Based On Power Consumption Modeling

The most important design factor for portable devices is power consumption. In this paper, in the early design stage of a mobile device which measures temperature and humidity a power consumption model will be proposed and then the overall power consumption will be estimated based on this model. We will verify previously the correctness of such estimated power consumption before implementation of the real device. That is our proposed design methodology based on power consumption model. An improved design method for efficiently reducing the current consumption in the idle mode is also presented. By implementing a real prototype of the mobile device for measuring temperature and humidity, the correctness of our proposed design methodology based on power consumption modeling will be verified.

The installation of PV system to the power distribution system is being increased as one of solutions for environmental pollution and energy crisis. Because the output efficiency of PV system is getting decreased because of the aging phenomenon and several operation obstacles, the technology development of output prediction and state diagnosis of PV modules are required in order to improve operation performance of PV modules. The conventional methods for output prediction by considering various parameters and standard test condition values of PV modules may have difficult and complex computation procedure and also their prediction values may produce large error. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes an optimal prediction algorithm and state diagnosis algorithm of PV modules by using least square methods of linear regression analysis. In addition, this paper presents a state diagnosis evaluation system of PV modules based on the proposed optimal algorithms of PV modules. From the simulation results of proposed evaluation system, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithms is a practical tool for state diagnosis of PV modules.

Maximum torque per ampere vector controller is widely used to control permanent magnet synchronous motors. For the controller to work properly, it is important to know the exact values of motor parameters such as a stator resistance, inductances, and the flux linkage of the permanent magnet. In this paper, an adaptive control algorithm is proposed to estimate these parameters using MRAS(Model Reference Adaptive System). Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

This paper presents a Electrical characteristics of the Memristor device using the PSPICE for circuit analysis. After making macro model of the Memristor device for circuit analysis, electric characteristics of the model such as time analysis, frequency and DC analysis according to the input voltage were performed by PSPICE simulation. Also, we made simple circuits of memristor series and parallel structure and analyzed the simulated SPICE results. Finally, we made a memristor-capacitor (M-C) circuit. charge and discharge characteristics were analyzed. In case of input pulse signal of 250 Hz, the Memristor-capacitor circuit showed delay time of 0.6ms, rising time of 0.58 ms and falling time of 1.6 ms.

Wind turbine system can obtain the maximum wind energy using torque control under the rated wind speed, and wind turbine power is controlled as the rated power using pitch control over the rated wind speed. In this paper, we present a method for wind turbine pitch controller using neural networks. The purpose of the pitch control is to control generator speed and power in the above rated wind speed. To improve the neural network pitch controller, the difference between a rated and current speed of generator has been used for another input of neural networks as well as wind speed. Error back-propagation algorithm is used for training the neural network pitch controller and simulation and Matlab/Simulink is used for verifying that this system is controlled well.

This paper presents a new design method of optimal control of system which are changed the system parameters. The method used for this purpose are the Lagrange interpolation method and Pole's Moving range method. We selects a system within the scope of the changing the system parameters. Using pole's moving range we calculated the state weighting matrix of optimal control. The optimal controller is designed by Lagrange interpolation method of the state weighting matrix. We are compared with a traditional optimal controller and proposed method by simulation. The simulation showed that the proposed method is better control performance than traditional method of optimal controller.

This study as a descriptive survey attempts to establish the objective foundation for DNR as investigating Emergency Medical Technology students' recognition and ethical attitudes on DNR. The structured questionnaires were given to 257 students who are studying in Jeollanam-Do and Jeollabuk-Do between the period of September 1 and September 30, 2012. The data were analyzed in frequency, percentage,
-test, and crosstabs by using SPSS 18.0 program. The results indicated that ethical attitudes on DNR were statistically significant by individual's general factors such as sex, age, religion, and education. According to the result, it is necessary to have an objective guideline of ethical attitudes and offer professional education continuously about DNR in order to have sufficient information to establish the objective foundation for DNR.
Design of Improved UI of Automatic Parking Management System using License Plate Recognition

Recently, due to advances in both imaging technology and ICT, various types of image processing services became available and the application services of these two technologies are diversifying. Recognition of vehicle license plates is used in places where vehicle information is needed such as in parking management. However, existing systems have economic disadvantages like issuing parking tickets and attaching unnecessary equipment. In order to solve these problems, we designed and implemented automatic parking management system through recognition of vehicle license plates by using emguCV that is based on OpenCV. Additionally, we designed improved UI to handle the entire parking management situation which include information such as details of each parking vehicle, parking time and remaining parking spaces without screen movement. This improved UI is implemented with the use of WPF which is the latest technology in user program development. The emguCV used in this paper showed the most optimized performance in Intel based environment. With it, we obtained the result of within 0.5 seconds of recognition processing time and over 90% of recognition rate. Through improved UI, the manager could both simply and intuitively manage the entire system.
A Field Case Research by Construction Management of Underground Excavation Construction Using Inverse Analysis Method

In this study, we compared and analyzed the displacement of final excavation with measured value through an inverse analysis method used in urban excavation construction. We maximized the effectiveness of the inverse analysis method, and plan to achieve cost-effective and practical construction management in the field with identical conditions. As the first stage, we suggest an example of a field which has the inverse analysis method. We applied the inverse analysis method to three different fields on which construction and measuring were finished. Of these three fields, two fields showed a very satisfactory result. However, in one field, there were significant differences between the analysis and measured value. The result of our analysis indicated that, we should unite the conditions of the inverse analysis method and field construction. We need to thoughtfully reconsider the RANKINE earth pressure application in a triangle type. This is because the uniformity of earth pressure is made by its arching effect, in the condition of the displacement of lower underground occurring widely, which is differentiated with the earth pressure conditions of RANKINE, even if the slurry wall has stiffness. Also, when recalculating the soil parameter, we should emphasize the adhesion of the weathering zone, and give experimental consideration to ground water level.
Assessment of the Deterioration of Large-Diameter Pipe Networks (II) : Application to Metropolitan Multi-Regional Water Supply System (1st Phase)

This study (II) has appled the new assessment model of large-diameter pipe deterioration proposed by the study (I) to the metropolitan multi-regional water supply system (1st phase). In the total 30 pipelines, 24 and 27 pipelines were required for improvement as results from the existing evaluation methods 1995 and 2002, respectively. The assessment results were almost similar in the new developed model and the existing methods. It is founded that the new simple model developed in this study can produce reliable results, consistent with those from the existing methods requiring many factors for a pipe deterioration assessment. It is therefore expected that the new model would be helpful in practical applications of a pipe deterioration assessment since it can save both temporal and economic costs for experiments and analysis, as compared with existing assessment methods.
The Evaluation of Bed Protection as Placing Methods of Mortar

This study was to compare the protection abilities of an SPF through ground or underwater casting. A mat of 1/10 scale was made and then mortar was placed on the ground and submerged conditions. A limit velocity of each mat was estimated with this experiment. As a result of the test, the mat failed because of the decrease of bearing power in the center of the waterway. On the one hand, the edge of the mat, where the velocity is slow, secures stability. The result of the limit velocity analysis suggests that a velocity of ground placement with 6.51m/s and underwater casting with 9.80m/s is the minimum to ensure stability. When SPF mat with a thickness of 0.50m is replaced with a concrete block, it is calculated to need a maximum thickness of 2.21m.

We study free vibration analysis of sigmoid functionally graded materials(S-FGM) nano-scale plates, using a nonlocal elasticity theory of Eringen in this paper. This theory has ability to capture the both small scale effects and sigmoid function in terms of the volume fraction of the constituents for material properties through the plate thickness. Numerical solutions of S-FGM nano-scale plate are presented using this theory to illustrate the effect of nonlocal theory on natural frequency of the S-FGM nano-scale plates. The relations between nonlocal and local theories are discussed by numerical results. Further, effects of (i) power law index (ii) nonlocal parameters, (iii) elastic modulus ratio and (iv) thickness and aspect ratios on nondimensional frequencies are investigated. In order to validate the present solutions, the reference solutions are compared and discussed. The results of S-FGM nano-scale plates using the nonlocal theory may be the benchmark test for the free vibration analysis.

The past IMF foreign exchange crisis and subprime financial crisis had a big influence on variability of macroeconomics, even if the origin of its occurrence might be different. This not only had a significant infrequence on the overall industries, but also produced many insolvent companies by being closely linked with a management environment of an individual construction company leading the construction industry. The purpose of this research is to investigate characteristics of management condition of construction company according to the size of construction company using KMV model developed on the basis of the Black & Scholes option pricing theory. This research has set 28 construction companies listed to KOSPI/KOSDAQ for applying the KMV model and measuring the level of the default risk of construction companies. The data was retrieved from TS2000 established by Korea Listed Companies Association (KLCA), Statistics Korea. The analysis period is between first quarter of 2004 and fourth quarter of 2010. This research examine characteristics of the level and fluctuation process of the management condition of construction company according to the size of construction company.

World is experiencing abnormal weather caused by urbanization and industrialization increasing greenhouse gas and one of these phenomenon domestically happening is flood and drought. The increase of green-house gases is due to urbanization and industrialization acceleration which are causing abnormal climate changes such as the El Nino and a La Nina phenomenon. It is expected that there will be many difficulties in water management, especially considering the topography and seasonal circumstances in Korea. Unlike in the past, a variety of water conservation initiatives have been undertaken like the river-management flow and water capacity expansion projects. To meet the increasing demand for water resources, new environmentally-friendly small and medium-sized dams have been built. Therefore, the development of a new paradigm for water resources management is essential. This study shows that additional security is needed for potential water resources through diversion tunnels and is very important to consider for future water supplies and situations. Using RCP 6.0 and RCP 8.5 in representative concentration pathway climate change scenario, specific hydrologic data of study basin was produced to analyze past observed basin rainfall tendency which showed both scenario 5%~9% range increase in rainfall. Through sensitivity analysis using objective function, population in highest goodness was 1000 and cross rate was 80%. In conclusion, it is expected that the results from this study will help to make long-term and stable water supply plans by using the potential water resource evaluation model which was applied in this study.

In order to reduce flood damages, there should demand an appropriate design such as enlarging a bank, dredging a river bottom, building a hydraulic structure and so on. The installation locations about the Watergate are listed of the seven provisions in the river design standard, but it is not detailed. In order to compute proper place considering landuse and basin characteristics of inlands, internal inundation modeling that should be performed is regarded with quantitative evaluation. Anyway, that is very complex and taking a long time because that has to consider hydraulic and hydrologic characteristics. In the current study, therefore, the simple and convenient method for internal inundation modeling was proposed to overview the Watergate location.

Needs for a new technologies of infrastructure systems arose, following the development of next generation EMU(Electric Multiple Unit) train with maximum speed over 400km/h. For high-speed operation tests of the new EMU, a high-speed railway infrastructure test-bed was constructed in a 28km long section of the Honam High-speed Railway. Diverse sensors and monitoring system was installed for continuous monitoring of the railway. Due to such effort, further demands and needs of the integrated monitoring system was derived in a more comprehensive and long-term perspective.
An Analytical Study on the Embedded Depth of Concrete Poles in Inclined ground

Overturning of concrete poles are occurred annually due to natural disaster such as a typhoon. The present code for the resisting moment and the safety on overturning of concrete poles in inclined ground is inadequate. In this study, the concept of the code for those in flat ground is applied to calculate the resisting moment in inclined ground using general analysis program L-Pile Plus13.8. According to the analytical results, the resisting moment in inclined ground is rapidly decrease as increasing the slope angle although the embedded depth are added by the additional embedded depth on the code. It is revealed that the capacity in inclined ground is equivalent to that in flat ground if additional embedded depth is increased from 1.5 to 3 times.
Improvement of Interoperability of IFC for Geometry and Location of Structural Members

The purpose of this study is to improve the interoperability of IFC for the basic data such as the size of member section, length, thickness, reference location, and eccentricity of the structural members. For this, the method to represent the basic data of structural member is proposed. In the proposed method, the most important criteria is the way that engineers recognize and treat the basic data of structural members. Then, in this study, an IFC file is generated based on the proposed method for a simple RC building composed of members and it is examined that the correct basic data can be derived from the IFC file in the way that engineers do in practice. From the results of the examination, the proposed method is expected to improve the interoperability of IFC for the basic data.

In Contemporary residential area, especially apartment commplex, crime affect the quality of life and sustainability of cities. So our interest is an all-time high in the role that planning processes and the design of the physical environment can play in reducing the opportunity for crime. The purpose of this study try to find the possibility of application of CPTED in Urban Apartment Complex. Recently, as increase of residencial density, diverse and new types of crime are increasing in urban apartment complex. It is the current of times which demand our serious consideration. This research focused on crime reduction through the physical environmental control methods. And the concepts and contents of CPTED are studied and the case studies of developed countries are surveyed. For groping in the practical application, researched into the case study of apartment blocks in medium sized city, Cheongju. Also Local crime prevention initiatives require partnership working, both between professionals and with local communities. The result of this study has implicated, increasing importance on daily safety issue in urban life and examining the possibility of applying crime prevention and reduction program and systems.
A Study on Chloride Attack Resistibility of Quaternary Concrete

The purpose of this study is to estimate Chloride Attack Resistibility and mechanical properties of quaternary concrete adding fly ash, blast-furnace slag, and silica fume. Compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, chloride migration coefficient, charge passed from Rapid chloride penetration test(RCPT), and immersion testing in 3% NaCl are tested. Chloride migration coefficient and charge passed of quaternary concrete measured
and 650 coulomb at 17 weeks, which are in a permitted limit. Also in immersion test, depth of chloride penetration and maximum chloride ion of quaternary concrete measured 3.7 mm and
respectively. From the results, quaternary concrete adding fly ash, blast-furnace slag, and silica fume denotes improvement of mechanical properties and chloride attack resistibility.

Since IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) 4 is based on the representation of 3D elements for an architecture project, and does not define standardized shapes for civil projects such as roads, bridges, and tunnels etc, it has limitations in securing interoperability for exchanging a shape information model for the civil projects. Besides, since road facilities have a linear reference, which is modeled along the center alignment, it is difficult the designers to create a standardized 3D road model. The aim of this study is to configure structure elements and their attribute for a road in the perspective of 3D design for developing a shape information model for the road. To solve these issues, this study analyzes the design documents, which consist of a road design handbook, guide, specifications and standards, and then extract shape elements and their attributes of road structures. Such shape elements are defined as an entity item and we review a hierarchical structure of a road shape defined by a virtual road model. The detailed elements and their attributes can be utilized as a 3D shape information model for constructing BIM (Building Information Modeling) environment for Infrastructures. Besides, it is expected that the suggested items will be utilized as a base data for extending to IFC for a road subdividing the detailed shapes, types and attributes for road projects.

New control methods are proposed for indoor air quality by removing fine airborne dust-particles. As suspended fine dust-particles contain inorganic dust as well as fine organic bacteria, studies for simultaneous control of these contaminants are required. The results indicate that E. coli was removed over 80 % after about 2 hours of reaction with UVA and all three types of photocatalysts, whereas only with UVA, around 50 % E. coli removal was obtained. . However, in case of B. subtilis, which has thick cell wall in its spore state, disinfection was not effective under the low UVA irradiation condition, even with the catalysts. Further studies need to figure out the optimal UVA irradiation ranges as well as photocatalysts doses to control airborne dust, to provide healthy clean air environment.

Poly(ethylene-co-isosorbide terephthalate) (PEIT) is interest in polymer which has isosorbide monomer that is renewable resources such as corn. However, there is important drawback which is low mechnical properties as increasing isosorbide contents. In this study, polycarbonate used to make up for drawback of mechanical properties of PEIT. In addition, PEIT used to improve the tensile elongation of polycarbonate because PEIT has good sheet proccessability. The effect of polycarbonate on morphology, thermal and mechanical properties were investigated using FE-SEM, DMA, TGA, UTM, and notched izod impact strength tester. As a result of this study, PEIT/PC blends were in compatible system and polycarbonate can act as an improvement of thermal stability and mechanical properties in the blends.
A study on the synthesis and characterization of nano-sized metal oxide for conservation treatment of paper records

Recording materials are the valuable historical and cultural parts themselves as well as the methods for exchanging informations. Therefore, the appropriate conservation treatments should be conducted to the recording materials respectively. In case of the paper records, some particular conservation treatments such as a deacidification and a sterilization are necessary to prevent both bio and chemical deteriorations. In this research, the nano-scaled ZnO and MgO with 10~30nm size were prepared for the effective and stable conservation treatment of the paper records. Deacidification and sterilization effect of nano compounds were excellent and since nano compounds had almost 100% purity(free from Pb, Cd, As), the additional damages caused by the heavy and toxic metals should not be occur to the books and papers.
