Study of the Shape of Car Body Affecting Flow Resistance of Air Flowing Near Car

Considerable fuel in cars is consumed by air resistance. The flow resistance against the air stream was analyzed by flow analysis near the passenger car body. In this study, the models were used were cars available on the real market. Two velocities entered into inlet plane of flow were 80 km/h and 110 km/h using the flow analysis of CFX. As the study method, the velocity of air flow near the car and the pressure on the rear part of car body were investigated at the driving of car. The shapes of the study models were models 1 and 2, and the flow streams were four cases of 1, 2, 3, and 4. In case 1 among the four cases, the maximum pressure (
) on the rear part was highest and the maximum velocity (43.81m/s) of air flow near car body was fastest. The air drag force in the case of high speed (110km/h) driving a passenger car was higher than that of a normal driving speed (80km/h). The drag force at wide section area of the car body becomes higher than the narrow section area. The shape of the car body can be effectively designed to reduce the air resistance using the study results of this analysis.
Degasser for Products Produced Using Research to Improve the Quality

Several methods that have been used to manage a degasing process in recent years, such as an injection method that uses aluminum molten metal powder and chemicals, and the input method that supplies argon and nitrogen, or chlorine gas using a gas blow-tube. On the other hand, these methods have some problems, and it is a difficult process to handle pollution due to the production of considerable toxic gases, such as chlorine and fluoride gas, irregular effects, and lowering work efficiency due to the excessive processing time. The problems that are most fatal are the production of considerable sludge due to a reaction of aluminum molten metal with chemicals, loss of metals, and the decreasing life of refractory materials. To solve these problems, this study developed a technology that is related to continuous casting of molten aluminum metal and monolithic degasing apparatus.
Simulation of Welding Deformation of Hull Block Joint considering Dog-Pieces

In shipyards, a large number of dog-pieces are used to align welding joints and prevent welding deformation in the block assembly stage. The huge working man-hours consumed in the working process of dog-pieces impedes the productivity growth of shipyards. In this study, an analysis method based on the experimental results was proposed to simulate the welding deformation of butt joints with a dog-piece setting. The simulation of welding deformation of a hull block joint was performed using the proposed analysis method. Finally, the proposed analysis method can be used to establish guidelines for the proper use of dog- pieces in the block assembly stage.
Change in Engine Exhaust Characteristics Due to Automotive Waste Heat Recovery

In this study, a thermoelectric module (TEM) and a diesel engine were modeled using 1-D commercial software AMESim, and the performance of the TEM was evaluated when the engine was operated under the NEDC driving cycle. The goal of TEM modeling was to investigate not only the waste heat recovery (WHR) rate and energy converting efficiency, but also the heat transfer rate by taking the materials characteristics into account. In addition, a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) was designed, and it was found that the waste heat recovery with TEM affects the activation of DOC and alters engine exhaust composition. The simulation indicated that the WHR using TEM is beneficial for decreasing the fuel consumption of vehicles, but the reduction in the exhaust temperature affects the activation of DOC, resulting in an approximately 14% increase in CO and HC emissions. Therefore, the effect of waste heat recovery on the automotive emission characteristics must be considered in the development of automotive engine WHR systems.
Study of Robust Design of a Off-road Diesel Engine considering Emission characteristics of NOx and PM

To protect the environment, the regulation of emissions from off-road engines which are relatively neglected, is being reinforced. This paper deals with the robust design of off-road diesel engines considering the emission characteristics. Measurements of the NOx and PM levels based on the DOE were carried out. The injector hole number, injection timing and EGR rate were selected as the control factors. The orthogonal arrays table
was made from 2 or 3 levels for each factor and measurements of emissions were accomplished based on the table. The small-the-better SN ratio according to the Taguchi method was evaluated. The ANOVA (analysis of variance) for the SN ratio was conducted. The injection timing on the NOx emissions and the EGR rate on the PM have the largest effect on the low-load operation condition. The confidence levels of the control factors were more than 90%.
Study of Spin Jig Development for Cleaning of the PCB component

This study examined PCB component cleaning on a PCB component surface, which has defects of precipitation type washing (existing rinse method), sealant and foreign material formed in the adhesive process that could not be removed easily. The spin jig was developed for PCB component cleaning, in which the PCB component settled down, to solve the conventional problem of the removal of foreign material with the centrifugal force by high speed rotation. The results are as follows. With decreasing fraction defect in PCB component washing, the development and substrate damage decreased by more than 80% according to the abstergent in the rotary type using the centrifugal force in the existing precipitation type. When the base plate showed a large difference with the time to include the process after washing the design using the existing method, easy attachment and separation of the PCB component could be possible. The washing time was enhanced 90% compared to the existing time. The reliability of the security and washing collaboration of the design and stability of the cleaning process could be secured so that there was no phenomenon of secession, the PCB component fixed for a cleansing rotation jig could maintain a fixed force by the centrifugal force. The stability and reliability of the washing process and the defective rate could be improved to less than 1%.
Development of a Pneumatic Semi-Automatic Clutch for Commercial Vehicles based on the CAN Communication

A semi-automatic clutch was developed for drivers of vehicles with manual transmission. The clutch is operated by pressing a switch on the gear stick without stepping on a clutch pedal when the driver wants to shift gears. To automatic control a clutch, driving information is provided by sensors installed under the vehicle. On the other hand, sensors are prone to failure under severe driving conditions and a long time is needed to install or repair these sensors in the vehicle. In this paper, a semi-automatic clutch that received driving information by CAN communication from the ECU was developed and a pneumatic actuator was used to operate the clutch. The semi-automatic clutch by a pneumatic cylinder was operated with a supply air pressure of more than 3bar.
Effect of the variation of base thickness on the heat release performance of the heat sink

In this study, to maximize the heat release from the heat generating environment, such as a high-capacity inverter, the heat release performance of the extruded-type heat sinks with the variation of the base thickness were investigated using the experimental and numerical methods. The base thickness was varied from 5 to 14 mm. The heat release was characterized by the amount of heat released through the heat sink, the surface temperature of heat sink base between the heat sources, and temperature of heat sources. The surface temperatures between heat sources and the amounts of heat release were improved more as the base thickness was decreased. In contrast, the temperatures of the heat sources decreased with increasing base thickness. Based on the case study of these heat sinks, it is believed that a heat sink with a 9.5mm-thick base was optimized for the heat release.
Application of the Infusion Method to the Repair of Damage in Wind Turbine Blades

Damaged wind turbine blades are repaired conventionally using a hand lay-up method with epoxy, where the bonding strength is not high. Epoxy has poor curing characteristics at low temperatures. The infusion method with polyester was proposed. Infusion method is believed to distribute resin uniformly. Polyester is used because it hardens better than epoxy at low temperatures. At room temperature, the proposed method increased the bonding strength by 77.7% compared to the conventional method. Using the proposed method at 15 and
, the bonding strength increased compared to the conventional method. This paper proposes a new method for repairing wind turbine blades, even at temperatures where the conventional method cannot be used because epoxy resin does not harden. The bonding strength of the proposed method at low temperatures is higher than that of the conventional method at room temperature.
Numerical analysis for deformation characteristics under the freezing and bursting of Al pipe

Recently, aluminum pipes have been used instead of steel pipes for open and shut machines in vinyl housing because of its corrosion-resistance and light weight. In particular, the light weight is very useful for fitting and removal by human resources. On the other hand, an aluminum pipe is weak in winter because aluminum has a larger thermal expansion coefficient than steel. This study examined the freezing and bursting of aluminum pipes by numerical analysis. The mechanical-thermal deformation characteristics were analyzed under the condition of ice volumetric expansion in aluminum pipes reaching 50%. From numerical analysis, large stresses above the yield stress occurred in aluminum pipe after ice expanded in the net diameter immediately. In addition, the freezing and bursting of aluminum pipes was predicted around an ice volumetric expansion of 6 - 7% because the thickness of the aluminum pipe reached an aluminum elongation ratio of 17%. Therefore, it is recommended that aluminum pipes be sealed perfectly to prevent water flow in the pipe. These results suggest that it is very difficult to prevent freezing and bursting of aluminum pipes by water freezing in the pipe.
A Study on Dynamic Characteristics and Durability of Multi-joint Boom for Demolition Water Vehicle

This paper discusses the dynamics stress of each boom, which occurs as a result of the conflicts on a multi-joint boom at the end effector and structure. In this process, CATIA was applied to create 3D modeling, ADAMS and ANSYS were then performed using mesh analysis by obtaining the stress data to create a MNF(Modal Neutral File) of multi-joint boom. Two types of MNF models were analyzed using ADAMS FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) performing to check the validity of each model. In this process, the models were verified by ADAMS, which performs the dynamic characteristics of conflict. The ADAMS Durability was used to analyze the maximum stress between the multi-joint boom and structure.
Investigation of the BSR Noise characteristics in Seat Cushion-frame with respect to Vibration Durability Test Using Multi-simulator

Many studies have examined the reduction of primary noise sources, but quality-related noise, such as BSR, is rarely studied. This study describes the quantitative BSR test method using a multi-axial simulator. The sine sweep test was conducted to detect the system resonance and its relation to BSR noise with high frequency. This method is applied to the seat frame with/without the vibration durability test. The results showed that the
lateral resonance leads to higher BSR frequency noise. In addition, the reduction of the lateral mode system stiffness after the durability test results in a decrease in the BSR noise in sine sweep test mode.
Structure Improvement and New Product Development of Cleaning Machine

This paper evaluated the structural improvements and new product development of cleaning machines. A cleaning machine was redesigned for structural improvements and new product development using a 3-D design program CATIA. In addition, structural analysis was conducted on the modeled cleaning machine using the ANSYS program. The total deformation, stress and strain were obtained by the pressure change. This result was applied to the new product development of cleaning machines.
Evaluation of the Influence of Blast Vibration on Machine Tool Accuracy

The machine tool is used widely to manufacture and trial manufactured goods in many machinery industries. Blast-induced ground vibration may have an environmental impact, such as damage to the adjacent structures and facilities. This study examined the influence of blast vibration on the accuracy of machine tools. The blast vibration and vibration of machine tools was measured to evaluate the influence of blast vibration on machine tools. Based on the evaluation of the vibration limit of machine tools, the vibration criteria for machine tools in this study were SLIGHTLY ROUGH~ROUGH. By repeated blast vibration, machine tools are more likely show reduced accuracy.
Durability Evaluation of Gangway Connections for the High Speed Railway Vehicles

To increase the riding comfort and running stability of articulated type high speed railway vehicles(HSRV), it is important that the gangway connections for the passenger car satisfied fire safety, sound proof and durability under triaxial angular displacement (rolling/yawing/pitching) modes. On the other hand, a domestic test standard on the durability of the rubber components has not been determined. In this study, the fatigue life was predicted using the results of the nonlinear finite element analysis and the fatigue properties. Moreover, a fatigue rig test of the component was constructed to examine the durability.
Experimental Study of the Heat Transfer Rate of the Plate Fin-Tube Condenser for a Household Refrigerator

A plate-fin tube type heat exchanger has a lighter weight, approximately 30%, than the conventional circular-fin type condenser of household refrigerator. Because the low weight means low cost, it can have significant effects on the growth of related businesses if similar performance can be guaranteed. To check the possibility of the use of such a plate fin-tube condenser, experimental evaluations were performed in this study. Four different condensers including a conventional circular fin-tube condenser were used for the test. A well designed refrigerant supply system was used to supply similar conditions with a refrigerator, and the heat transfer rate and pressure drops of air side were measured precisely. As a result, the plate fin-tube type condensers showed a lower heat transfer rate of more than 13% than the conventional circular fin-tube type condenser, but the air side pressure drop was reduced and the heat transfer per unit weight was increased. Therefore, it shows the possibility of the use of a plate fin-tube type condenser after optimizing the air flow path and increasing the air flow to make a similar heat transfer rate.
Estimation of FDS Prediction Performance on the Operation of Water-Mist

The aim of the present study was to estimate the prediction performance of a FDS (Fire Dynamic Simulator) to simulate the fire behaviors and suppression characteristics by operating a water-mist. Rosin-Rammler/log-normal distribution function was used to determine the initial droplet distribution of water-mist and the effects of its model constant were considered. In addition, the simulation models were validated by a comparison of the predicted fire suppression characteristics with water-mist injection pressures to the previous experiments, and the thermal flow behaviors and gaseous concentration variations were analyzed. The results showed that water-mists with the same mean diameter were affected by the characteristics of the droplet size distribution, which have different size and velocity distributions at the downstream location. The fire simulations conducted in this study determine the initial droplet size distribution tuned to the base of the spray characteristics measured by previous experiments. The simulation results showed good agreement with the previous measurements for temperature variations and fire suppression characteristics. In addition, it was confirmed that the FDS simulation with a water-mist operation supplies useful details on estimations of the thermal flow fields and gaseous concentration under water mist operation conditions.
Vibration Analysis on the Inspection Equipment Frame of a Semiconductor Test Handler Picker

As semiconductor chips are on a small scale, large content and high integratation, it is essential to develop the device of pick and place at the system of the semiconductor test handler to ensure its high precision and durability. In this study, inspection equipment frame model of a semiconductor test handler picker was investigated by vibration analysis with the property of the natural frequency and harmonic response. As 3 kinds of analysis case models, the device of pick and place was located at the left side (Case 1), the center (Case 2) and the right side (Case 3) of the upper guideline. The range of natural frequencies until the 6th order on this frame model ranges from 80Hz to 500Hz. As the analysis of the harmonic response when the frame is resonant, Case 2 showed the maximum equivalent stress of 52.802 MPa more than Cases 1 or 3. Case 2 was the most intensive among the three cases. Using the analysis result of this study, the design of the frame model, which can be applied to the safe working environment of the system is believed to be possible.
A way of undertaking a research phase in graphic design

This paper highlights the importance of design research and encourages an understanding of design tools that engage society and people. Twenty groups, a total of sixty students, were asked to participate in this project and they used an IDEO tool kit. A total of three surveys were given. One survey was given to the participants before participating in the project and another after the project. The last survey was given to six experts to evaluate the students' work. Preliminary analysis found that students, prior to participating in the project, replied heavily on Internet research and a literature review, and did not display a structured research process. Primary analysis showed that the groups that spent more time on research and utilised design tools performed better, particularly those utilising 'observation' techniques.
Study of the Ecosystem Model of Magazine on Special Genre Focusing on Collaboration System within Magazine Firm, Community and Creative User

Magazines on specific genres have been operating collaborative, co-working and collective production systems for value maximization using an adaptation strategy on the dynamic, complex and uncertain value network of the magazine industry. The study used a case study method, and data collection was performed by observational research, depth interviews and survey research. The subjects of the study were 'magazine industry', 'magazine firm and community', and 'collaboration system within creative users'. According to the research results, the ecosystem of magazines on a specific genre has been evolving into an innovative value network system, which is combined with the magazine firm, community users and magazine platform. Second, the rapid introduction of smart device environment changes the way of the collaborating system, in which an action and interaction came out within the community, creative users and magazine firms. Third, the production agency shows strong action and interaction, which fits the magazine platform within the ecosystem of a magazine on a specific genre well. This model has a similar fractal structure to the game, publishing, drama, movie, comic, and animation contents industry, converging to an innovative technology-based-creative-industry.
Audience Development for the Gimcheon International Family Theatre Festival

Many festivals are based on overseas municipalities 'city image marketing' planning. This trend is gradually reflected in this country as with the Kimcheon International Family Theatre Festival in the Republic of Korea. Gimcheon promotes itself as the central city of happiness 'city image marketing'. Most of these dimensions are in the middle of planning a festival when the Manjiman Kimcheon International Family Theatre Festival Theatre Festival, and the differentiation of the other audiences that drive successful practices in terms of box office need to be determined. This paper presents the history and status of the Kimcheon International Family Theatre Festival Theatre Festival and others based on the reports point out the distinction of a 100% share of the audience for the fifth consecutive year to analyze the cause. In particular, with local art and local performing arts festivals, audiences through a combination of 'show' Theatre Festival are also indirectly involved in the 'touch and feel' willingness to participate. In the Kimcheon International Family Theatre Festival there are significant challenges for improvements in significance.
Effects of Child-Initiated Cooking Activity on Young Children's Self-Efficacy and Learning Interest

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of child-initiated cooking activity on young children's self-efficacy and learning interest. To achieve this, the child-initiated cooking activity and teacher-initiated cooking activity were performed on an experimental group and comparative group, respectively. A total of sixty-eight subjects in 2 classes of 34 four and five year old children in private child-care centers in Chungnam from September 9 to December 31, 2013 were evaluated. The results were as follows. First, the general self-efficacy of the comparative group increased slightly, but that of the experimental group increased significantly, which showed a statistically significant difference in the general self-efficacy. In addition, the child-initiated cooking activity had an effect on the improvement of the cognitive domain, social-emotional domain and physical domain by each sub-factor. Second, the general learning interest of the comparative group increased slightly, but that of the experimental group increased significantly, in which there was a statistically significant difference in the general learning interest. In addition, the child-initiated cooking activity had an effect on the improvement of attention, interest, confidence, conscientiousness and activity interest by each sub-factor. In the findings stated above, the child-initiated cooking activity was an education activity that had a positive effect on the young children's self-efficacy and learning interest.
Valuation of workout firms considering characteristics of the construction industry : focused on Black·Scholes Models

The Korean construction industry has played a major role among all industries despite its relative small ratio of all. The global economic crisis, however, has adversely affected the construction industry. Therefore, the Korean government implemented a corporate restructuring process to ensure the stability of the financial market. The selection standard on workout enterprises by the government is based on two perspectives: (1) external factors, including macroeconomic indices and (2) internal factors, including financial statements of private enterprises. On the other hand, if considering the characteristics of the construction industry, a certain construction company may not be evaluated only by its financial statements. In other words, a valuation process that utilizes the financial statements only can be concluded to be irrational. Accordingly, this study aims to provide the valuation model, which embraces the characteristics of workout firms, and determines their implications. To accomplish this, each enterprise valuation was measured using DCF and Black Scholes models, and by comparing such results with their market value, each enterprise was determined to be either under or over-valued. The results of this study verified that the valuations of 2 workout companies (out of 4) showed a higher value than the market value.
Effects of Cultural Facilities and City Parks on the Regional Suicide Rates in Korea

This study examined the effects of cultural facilities and city parts on the regional suicide rates in Korea. Data of theaters, exhibition facilities, libraries and city parts was collected in 143 local areas governments. The number of theaters and the size of city parts had a significant effect on decreasing the regional suicide rates in the areas, and the number of exhibition facilities had partial impacts. This result suggests that the dynamic components of a culture and arts environments may work more effectively to relieve depression and stress and decrease the suicide rates. This study suggests that the cultural welfare environments can be found to solve the problem of the high suicide rates in Korea.
Comparative Study of the Discrimination of Uni-variate Analysis and Multi-variate Analysis for Small-Business Firm's Fail Prediction

This study selected 83 manufacturing firms that had been delisted from the KOSDAQ market from 2009 to 2012 and the sample firms for the two-paired sampling method were compared with 83 normal firms running businesses with same items or in same industry. The 75 financial ratios for five years immediately before delisting were used for Mean Difference Analysis with those of normal firms. Fifteen variables assumed to be significant variables for five consecutive years out of the analysis were used to in the Dichotomous Classification Technique, Logistic Regression Analysis and Discriminant Analysis. As a result of those three analyses, the Logistic Regression Analysis model was found to show the greatest discrimination. This study is differentiated from previous studies as it assumed that the firm's failure proceeded slowly over long period of time and it tried to predict the firm's failure earlier using the five years' historical data immediately before failure, whereas previous studies predicted it using three years' data only. This study is also differentiated from the proceeding comparative studies by its statistically complex Multi-Variate Analysis and Dichotomous Classification Analysis, which general stakeholders can easily approach.
Relationship between Government-owned Banks and Firm Size

This study examined the impact of Government-ownership of banks on the firm size using South Korean data. The impact of Government ownership of banks as both the largest lender of government banks and the bank loan dependency of firms on government-ownership bank were measured. Empirical models considering endogenous problems and various effects of firm size were developed. All results in this paper showed that government-ownership of the main banks might have a relationship with the smaller firms. In addition, the bank loan dependency of firms on government-ownership banks might have effects on the firm size. A higher loan dependency of firms on government-owned banks resulted in smaller firms. This study used micro firm level data to analyze, from several perspectives, the relationship between government-owned banks and firm size. The existing studies go as far as inferring the effects of government-owned banks showing theoretical evidence, performing surveys, or using international comparison data. This study is differentiated from existing studies in that it analyzed in a direct manner the effects of the government-owned banks on both the firm size. This study provides insights into the privatization of government-owned banks.
Research on the Effects of Academic Achievements on the Spatial Features of a University Dormitory

This study examined how the spatial features, such as the standards of facilities and floor plan of a university dormitory affect the academic achievements. This thesis reports the implications of the management of local universities through the optimization of dormitory environments and provides guidelines for the development of local universities in the face of a decrease in the number of the students. The following results were drawn from a case study of 'S' University which is situated in North Chungcheong Province. First, the students' academic achievements improved with increasing quality of the overall university dormitory. The results show that the dormitory is not only the living space but also the learning space. Considering that an improvement in the students' academic achievements can affect the employment rate of college graduates, providing students with pleasant amenities is very important. Second, the results showed that the academic achievements vary with the spatial characteristics of the residential space; the academic results deteriorated with increasing number of students who share a room. The results of this analysis suggest that a flexible dwelling space that enables the multiple-use residential space to be remodeled into single or double rooms, is very important when facing a decrease in the number of students and the difficult financial stability of the university.
Study of the Care Labor Experience of Semi-Aged Caregivers

This study analyzed the characteristics and meaning of care labor by examining the experience of semi-aged caregivers. To that end, in-depth interviews were conducted for a qualitative study of 15 semi-aged caregivers working at elderly care facilities located in the Kyunggi-do region. The interview was conducted with a major focus on three categories: perception of care labor by semi-aged caregivers; stress experienced in the course of care labor; and insights earned through care labor. The analysis showed that semi-aged caregivers have a positive experience through care labor. This finding will contribute to understanding the characteristics and meaning of semi-aged care labor from a different perspective.
Study of Adolescents' Academic Personality Types, Learning Behavioral Types and Self-determinative Learning Motivations

This study was conducted to understand the relationships among adolescents' academic personality types (APT), learning behavioral types (LBT) and self-determinative learning motivations (SDLM). Regarding the measuring tools, the U&I APT test developed by Man-kwon KIM and Jong-cheol HAN (2002) and the learning motivation test translated by Kyeong-jin MIN (2006) were used. The study collected data from a total of 237 adolescents. First, gender did not influence the APT and LBT, and in terms of the introjected regulation as in the SDLM, female students were observed to have greater than the male students. Second, the normative type as in the APT was understood to have an identified regulation, an integrated regulation and an internal motivation as in the SDLM higher than those of the behavioral type or ideal type. Third, the normative type would be less rebellious and work harder to achieve a goal compared to the other types. Fourth, when adolescents have this motivation more voluntary and internal, they pursue greater goals for themselves, trying harder to fulfill their goals. The SDLM appeared to be related to most of the LBT.
Relationship Between Job-related Affective States and Job Attitudes: Mediating Effects of Emotional Labor

This study had three purposes. First, the effects of job-related affective states on emotional labor (deep acting and surface acting) of employees engaging in service job were examined. Second, previous studies focused on the negative effects of emotional labor on job attitudes. On the other hand, this study dealt with not only the negative effects of emotional labor but also its positive effects. In particular, this study examined the effects of emotional labor on positive job attitudes, such as job commitment and job involvement, as well as negative job attitudes, such as exhaustion and cynicism. Finally, this study examined the mediation effect of emotional labor on the relationship between the job-related affective state and job attitudes. The data was collected from 150 employees working in 15 service firms in Korea. The results were as follows. First, the positive job-related affective state increased the deep-acting. On the other hand, negative job-related affective state increased surface-acting. Second, the main effect of deep-acting on positive job attitudes (dedication and vigor) was significant. In addition, the main effects of surface-acting on the negative job attitudes (exhaustion and cynicism) was significant. Finally, the mediating effect of deep-acting on the relationship between positive job-related affective state and positive job attitudes was significant. In addition, surface-acting mediated the relationship between negative job-related affective state and negative job attitudes. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are provided in the discussion session.
Effects of learners' perceived roles of a tutor on Problem-Based Learning satisfaction in Problem-Based Learning

The aim of this study was to discover the effects of learners' perceived roles of a tutor on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) satisfaction. To this end, 100 students who took lessons with PBL in the department of nursing science were recruited and asked to fill out a survey. The data was collected and analyzed using the SPSS WIN 20.0 Program. The results show that there is relevance between the role of 'Stimulating integration of knowledge' and 'PBL satisfaction' among the four kinds of roles of a tutor, and the role of 'Stimulating integration of knowledge' influences on PBL satisfaction.
Study of the Factors of a Submarine Crews' Turnover Intention Based on Kano Model and Suggestion of the Policy Measures

This study examined the factors affecting submarine crews' turnover intention. This study reviewed previous research-related turnover in military organizations. The measurement was designed based on the Kano model, which was originally used to survey the customers' satisfaction with a service or a product. The authors conducted a questionnaire survey of 408 submarine crew, from 1, Nov to 30, Nov, 2013. The results showed that the factors that impact the submarine crews' turnover were the sense of insecurity due to the a poor working environment of the submarine, physical risks due to the water pressure, anxiety due to the closed space, and insecure rank-limited promotion system. The paper discusses the implications of the results from the perspective of military social welfare and provides recommendations for setting up the policy for submarine crews' welfare based on the study result.
Study of the effect of career preparation and career maturity on employment among Specialized high school graduates

With regard to gaining employment for specialized high school graduates, what are the significant factors? Along with specialized high school's employment support, facility and subject support, vocational ability support, career guidance, and employment support are implemented at school. At the same time, individuals are learning career preparation behavior and job search behavior. Those factors influence the career maturity. Therefore, a question is, "Do they finally affect employment?" The independent variables were composed of satisfaction on school support, such as facility and subject support, career preparation behavior at home, pre-job search behavior, and career maturity. A structural equation was created and an analysis was conducted. As a result of the analysis, the satisfaction on school support has significant impacts on career maturity and career preparation behavior at home and influences on employment directly or indirectly. The career preparation behavior at home not only has a direct impact on employment, but also increases the pre- job search behavior and career maturity. In particular, it was confirmed that the career preparation behavior at home is the main factor to increase employment via the pre-job search behavior. Considering the effects among the factors in gender, the satisfaction on school support directly increases employment, particularly for women. Therefore, high-quality school support programs should be enhanced, focusing on employment support programs for women. In addition, as satisfaction on school support increases, women are more likely to undergo career preparation behavior at home. This suggests that the career preparation behavior for females, such as conversation about career, is a critical factor to increasing employment unlike males. Therefore, support programs for women that is aimed at parents should be developed.
Effects of Early Childhood Teacher job stress on the turnover intention and job satisfaction

This study examined the effects of teacher job stress and emotional intelligence on the turnover intent and job satisfaction. To this end, an early childhood teacher survey of 220 people using SPSS 9.0 data processing, analysis, and the independent variables were used to predict the dependent variable. Simple regression analysis and regression analysis of a follow-up examination were then performed. In the first study, the early childhood teachers' turnover intention due to job stress and job satisfaction revealed job stress to be a significant factor. The children's lack of leadership and administrative support work overload factors contributed to causes of stress. The turnover intention appeared to affect the mind. Second, early childhood teachers job satisfaction, job stress and turnover intention were affected by attempts to mediate the influence of job stress. Therefore, mediation plays a significant role. These results show that infant teacher duties affect the turnover intention and job satisfaction.
Job Stress, Burnout, Nursing Organizational Culture and Turnover Intention among Nurses

The aim of this study was to identify how job stress, burnout and nursing organizational culture affect the turnover intention of nurses. The participants were 198 nurses from two general hospitals. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression using the SPSS/PC 18.0 program. The turnover intention had a positive correlation with job stress (r=.59, p<.001), burnout (r=.64, p<.001), and a negative correlation with the nursing organizational culture (r= -34, p<.001). The predictors of the turnover intention were job demand, insufficient job control, interpersonal conflict, emotional exhaustion, and depersonalization. The results of the study can be used to develop a program for reducing nurses' turnover intention.
Study of the Introduction of a Nanomaterials Regulatory Policy for Product Safety

Recently, the use of nanotechnology in products is constantly expanding, and the problems on human health hazard has emerged as a major issue. A nanomaterials regulatory policy on the products is urgently required. This study analyzed the introduction of regulatory policies of nanomaterials contained in industrial products. In this study, the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was applied and three regulatory policies were evaluated to analyze the validity of the introduction of a nanomaterials regulatory policy. To select the optimal regulatory policy, the policy evaluation criteria were set as enforcement (effectiveness), economics, acceptability, and protection. For the regulatory policies, self-regulation, product labelling, and enforced registration were introduced and evaluated as the regulatory policies, and product labelling was selected as the optimal regulatory policy.
Related factors of late middle aged women's cancer preventive behaviors in local churches

This study was conducted to identify the factors related to the cancer preventive behaviors of middle aged women. The data was collected from October
2012 to February
2013 from 114 middle aged women in four churches in B city. As a result, there were significant differences in the cancer preventive behaviors according to cancer preventive education, concerns about cancer information and the utilization of cancer information. The cancer preventive behaviors were weakly related to the internal health locus of the control, chance health locus of the control and self-esteem. In addition, there was moderate correlation between the cancer preventive behaviors and the external health locus of the control. Meaningful variables that explain the cancer preventive behaviors were the external health locus of the control, self-esteem, cancer preventive education in that order. The total explanation power was 25.3% and the external health locus of the control has most explanation power. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop nursing intervention and health education for middle aged women to raise the internal health locus of the control and self-esteem, and encourage attending cancer preventive education to improve the preventive behaviors against cancer.
Relationship Between Life Style and Serum Lipid Levels in Adults using Data from Health Examination

The purpose of this study was to obtain the serum lipid levels according to the lifestyles, and examine the influence of lifestyles on the serum lipid levels among adults who examined the health checkup in an university hospital. The subjects for this study were 4,112 adults who underwent medical examinations at the health center of a university hospital in Daejeon city from Jan 2012 to Dec 2013. The lifestyles and serum lipid levels of study subjects were obtained from self-recorded questionnaires and medical examination charts of the hospital. As a result, the mean values of the serum lipid levels (TC, HDL-C. LDL-C and TG) and atherogenic index (AI) of the study subjects showed a significantly difference according to the lifestyle, such as age, alcohol consumption, smoking, regular exercise, overeating and meat consumption in both sexes. The TC, HDL-C. LDL-C, TG and AI showed a positive correlation with age, AUDIT score, but the HPI score showed a negative correlation in both sexes. In the age-adjusted odds ratio, the risk ratio of an abnormality of TC, HDL-C. LDL-C, TG and AI increased significantly because there was an increase in the group of everyday overeating and meat consumption, smoking group, no exercise group, and low HPI group than their respective counterparts in both sexes. The above results suggested that the serum lipid levels of the subjects was closely related to increasing age, and lifestyles, such as alcohol consumption, smoking, regular exercise, overeating, and meat consumption.
Factors Affecting Higher Grade Elementary school students' Internet Game Addiction: Focus on Gender Differences

This study examined the factors predicting internet game addiction in higher grade elementary school students according to gender in two cities. The participants were 300 elementary school students who were in the
grades. Data was collected by structured questionnaires from April 1 to June 15 2013, and analyzed using SPSS WIN 14.0. The scores of internet game addiction for elementary school students were 28.82 and 24.61 for boys and girls, respectively. The adjustment to school life predicted internet game addiction in 14% of boys. The adjustment to school life and satisfaction with school life predicted internet game addiction in 15% of girls. Influence of the Hoping Number of Children, the Policy of Childbirth, and the Causes of Reduced Childbirth to the Perception of Childbirth in Health-Line College Students

Purpose: The influence of the hoping number of children, the policy of childbirth, and the causes of reduced childbirth to the perception of childbirth, which will be the subject of future childbirth, was surveyed by health-line college students. Results: In terms of the attitude to the perception of childbirth, the quality of personal life, childcare, insufficient support of childbirth, and breeding of descendants had the largest influence on childbirth, and in terms of the attitude to the hoping number of children, economic reasons, childcare expenses, and education expenses had the largest influences. Second, when the causes of social demographic properties influencing childbirth was analyzed, sex showed significance to all the factors on the hoping number of children in terms of growing areas, to all the factors excluding childbirth policy in terms of the economic level, and hoping number of children in terms of the parents' jobs. Third, when the correlation was analyzed, a correlation was found in every area excluding the hoping number of children in terms of the causes of childbirth reduction and economy, childbirth policy in terms of the personal causes, personal factor in terms of the causes of childbirth policy, and family factor in terms of the causes of childbirth reduction and economy. Fourth, when the influences of the causes of hoping number of children, childbirth policy, and childbirth reduction to perception of childbirth were analyzed, the case hoping no or one child, the case hoping 2 or more children, childbirth policy, and childbirth reduction had a positive significant influence on the perception of childbirth. Conclusion: The childbirth rate will be improved if the following occur: childbirth policy and laws are established at the level of government, education programs are developed and operated for the formation of the value of perception of childbirth, and a new support policy is established after analyzing the current childbirth support policies. To change the perception of childbirth in college students who are future subjects of childbirth, successive studies will be needed to verify the effect of aforesaid measures.
Mediation and Moderation Effects of Job Embeddedness between Nursing Performance and Turnover Intention of Nurses

This study examined the mediator or moderator role of job embeddedness in the relationship between the nursing performance and turnover intention. Data was collected from 653 nurses in 3 tertiary hospitals, 2 secondary hospitals, and 3 small-medium sized hospitals in Daegu, and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlations, hierarchical multiple regression using the PASW 18.0 program and structural equation model (SEM) using the AMOS 18.0 program. The job embeddedness showed mediating effects between the nursing performance and turnover intention. On the other hand, job embeddedness did not have moderating effects. This study confirmed that job embeddedness had a mediating effect on the relationship between the nursing performance and turnover intention. Enhancing job embeddedness is required to promote nursing performance and reduce turnover intention.
Drinking Motivation, Daily Stress, and Problem Drinking Behavior of Female University Students

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among drinking motivation, daily stress and problem drinking behavior, and to identify the influencing factors of problem drinking behavior in female university students. The participants were 259 female students in university. The data was collected for 1 months from Oct. 28 to Nov. 28, 2013 in a university-located Y city. Questionnaires were used to measure the levels of the drinking motivation, daily stress, and problem drinking behavior. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, stepwise regression, and the IBMSPSS/WIN 19.0 program. The predicting factors for problem drinking behavior were drinking motivation, type of residency and smoking. The variables explained the problem drinking behavior by 35.7%. A survey of the various influencing factors of problem drinking behavior will be required and a drinking reduction program for female university students is needed.
Effects of Professional Oral Care for Long-term Patients in Nursing Facilities on the Streptococcus mutans Population in the Intraoral Region

In this study, professional oral care was provided and 3 times a day twice a week by a dental hygienist for 3 months from July 24 to October 25, 2011, to 43 long-term patients in a single nursing facility located at the city of D, and the number of mutans strepococci colonies within the saliva and the level of salivation were then analyzed after 3 samplings with an interval of 1 month to compare the intraoral conditions among the subjects and examine the effects of professional oral care on the Streptococcus mutans population in the intraoral region of long-term patients in a nursing facility. The level of salivation was elevated from 5.8 ml to 6.4 ml after one month and to 7.5mL after two months. The population of bacteria decreased from
. In terms of the change in the bacterial population in accordance with systemic diseases, the patients with hypertension and diabetes showed a meaningful decrease in the population. As more dental charge and prosthesis are present, the number of bacteria decreased significantly. On account of the close relationship between a professional oral care and the population of Streptococcus mutans at the intraoral region of long-term patients in nursing facilities, various dental health programs should be researched and developed to consider the characteristics of long-term patients in nursing facilities and manage them continuously but effectively.
Efficacy of callus induced from Ullengdo niche plants for skin protection

Many countries in the world have protected their native plants and utilized them as industrial materials in each country. In this aspect, it is increasingly important to develop cosmetics materials using native plants in Korea. Cosmetic materials have been developed with niche plants, such as Campanula takesimana Nakai, Dianthus superbus, Aster spathulifolius in Ullengdo, in which a specific plant distribution by distinct climate and environment was present. Water and ethanol extractions were performed from the calluses of Campanula takesimana Nakai, Dianthus superbus, Aster spathulifolius. HPLC analysis revealed different compositions and functions of effective elements in each ethanol extract. For example, all types of ethanol extracts showed an ability to heal wounds. In particular, the expression of the inflammation-related gene, COX-2, was decreased in response to the ethanol extracts of Dianthus superbus. These results indicate that the ethanol extracts from niche plants' calluses in Ullengdo are natural and environmentally-friendly compounds, and can be used as medical supplies associated with anti-inflammation and wound healing.

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of self-esteem, life satisfaction and quality of life of older people's in an elderly school program. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with a survey of 269 older people in 3 elderly schools at G city from November 29, 2013 to 18. The data was analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression using the SPSS WIN 20.0 program. As a research finding, an analysis of the quality of life between of the self-esteem (r=-.338, p<.001) and life satisfaction (r=-.507, p<.001) revealed significant correlations. The life satisfaction was the significant factor influencing the quality of life (
=-.512, p< .001) and this variable explained 25.1% of the quality of life. The findings of this study should be integrated into elderly health and care services in the community and older people in elderly school programs to improve the quality of life through the systematic developments of intervention programs for health care.
Attenuant Effects of Hovenia dulcis Extract on Inflammatory Orifacial Pain in Rats

Hovenia dulcis extract (HDE) has positive effects on alcohol degradation, recovery of liver damage and antioxidant activities. This study examined whether HDE exerts an ameliorative effect on inflammatory orifacial pain in an animal algesic model with formalin. The animals (rats) were divided into four groups: group I (control), group II (right facial subcutaneous injection of 5% formalin, inflammatory orifacial pain group), group III (5% formalin + distilled water administration), and group IV injection (5% formalin + 4.5 ml/kg of HDE), respectively. The scores from the scratch and effleurage tests were applied to evaluate the differences between three groups. The expression of p38 MAPK, iNOS and Nrf2 in the brain and medulla oblongata, which are involved in pain regulation, inflammation, antioxidation and nitric oxide production, were analyzed by western blot. The degree of orifacial pain was significantly lower in group IV than in groups I, II and, III. The expression of p38MAPK, iNOS and Nrf2 in the brain and medulla were also lower in group IV than in the other groups. These findings suggested that a Hovenia dulcis extract can attenuate inflammatory orifacial pain by suppressing the expression of p38 MAPK, iNOS and Nrf2.
Comparison of the Perceptions between Investigators and Clinical Research Associates in Role Performances of Clinical Research Coordinators

The aim of this study was to compare the perceptions of the role performance of a clinical research coordinator (CRC) between the investigators and clinical research associates (CRAs). Data was collected using a structured questionnaire from 39 investigators and 68 CRAs in 4 hospitals from March 7 to November 30, 2011 and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test. The investigators and CRAs were aware of the importance of CRC's role and they all gave the highest values for patients care management. On the other hand, the score of the role performance items showed perceptional differences between investigators and CRAs. Therefore, the development of detailed job descriptions and manuals will be needed to reduce the perceptional differences in the role performance of the CRC.

The aim of this study was to develop a standard toothbrush to determine the changes the dental arch form. Toothbrushes were collected from university students Items, such as the toothbrush head size, shape of head, numbers of tuft, neck size, neck angle, and handle size, were measured. the full mouth study models from the participants were In conclusion, the size of the head of the toothbrush for adults needs to be less than the 25mm and less than 11mm in the longitudinal and transverse directions, respectively. The choice of toothbrush is important for controlling oral hygiene and professional education on the selection of the appropriate toothbrush is needed.
Awareness of Stroke Warning Symptoms and Related Factors among Residents in a Province

This study examined the awareness levels of stroke warning symptoms and the related factors among residents in a province and this paper presents the evidence for education and promotion strategies. The study subjects were 585 adults living in a province. The demographic factors and awareness levels of stroke symptoms were surveyed through a telephone interview. In the survey, the most frequently recognized warning symptoms were 'sudden speech disturbance (84.6%)', and 'sudden weakness of one side (73.9%)'. On the other hand, 'sudden dizziness (67.0%)', 'sudden visual impairment (55.4%)' and 'sudden severe headache (51.3%)' were less recognized. In a multiple regression analysis, male, young age, no familial history of stroke, no acquaintance history of stroke, low educational level, no exposure to promotional literature were significantly related to a low awareness level of the stroke warning symptoms. Providing customized programs will be helpful for enhancing the efficiency of promotion and education to the population with a low awareness level of stroke symptoms.
Evaluation of the signal intensity of magnetic resonance angiography in accordance with the dilution rate of the contrast agent

Dilution of the contrast agent by analyzing the change in the signal intensity during MR angiography in accordance with the viscosity and osmotic pressure minimizes the side effects, and improves the image quality. The contrast agent molarity changes by the dilution of the contrast agent in the blood, as it is injected, which leads to a change in signal intensity. Based on this principle, a phantom was prepared and experiments were performed. After the phantom experiment, a clinical experiment was conducted using the results of the phantom experiment. From November 2013 to January 2014, a group of patients were classified into diluted contrast agent (30 persons) and undiluted (30 persons), and the signal intensity of the cerebral vessels was compared. The signal intensity of the phantom according to the molarity of the contrast agent increased sharply from 0.0125 mmol, reached a peak at 20 mmol, and achieved equilibrium from 200 mmol. Based on the study results, the signal intensity of the blood vessels in the brain through were compared in a clinical experiment. All the brain vessels in the imaging range with diluting a high content of the gadolinium contrast agent showed high signal intensity. This result supports the phantom experiment and means that using the 500mmol diluted contrast agent is better than using 1000mmol undiluted contrast agent because it is easier to approach the 20mmol level needed to achieve the highest signal intensity. This study has significance in that it can minimize the high viscosity and osmotic pressure, which can cause side effects and improve the image quality using the method of the dilution rate.
The Effects of a Staged Smoking Prevention Program for Primary School Children

The subjects of this study were 415 children in the first to third grade selected from 4 primary schools. Among them, 212 children belong to the experimental group, and 203 children were in the control group. The program was provided respectively to first, third and fifth grade children for 2, 4 and 6 teaching-hours from 2013.1.1 to 2013.12.19. To measure the effects of the program, the knowledge and attitudes on/toward smoking, self-concept were used as the research tools. Before and after program-implementation, there were significant differences in knowledge of smoking, but no differences in attitudes and self-concept. A smoking prevention program for primary school children should be applied step-by-step in conjunction with the regular education curriculum. In addition, the program should aim for long-term effects rather than short-term effects.
Relationships of Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction and Burnout among Medical Technologists in a University Hospital

The present study examined the relationships of emotional labor, job satisfaction and burnout in medical technologists working at university hospitals. The study subjects were 145 medical technologists and health information technicians working at 4 university hospitals. The investigation was conducted using a standardized self-administered questionnaire from April 10-19, 2013. As a result of hierarchical multiple regression, the socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behavior factors, job-related factors, emotional labor and job satisfaction were selected as significant variables and related variables affecting the level of burnout. The descriptive power of these variables(socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behavior factor) was 21.7%, especially it can be seen that emotional labor and job satisfaction variable input 16.8% and 8.2% increase explanatory power respectively.
Physicochemical Characteristics of the Mash Quality of Cheongju Prepared Using Different Nuruks

This study examined the physicochemical characteristics of mashing prepared using different Nuruks (traditional Nuruk, Nuruk added Aspergillus oryzae, Nuruk added Aspergillus kawachii, and Nuruk added Aspergillus oryzae and Aspergillus kawachii), and to obtain the basic data for Korean Cheongju production. The four different mashes were compared for their brewing characteristics and indicated a normal fermentation pattern. The Nuruk made from A. oryzae or A. kawachii showed higher fermentation ability than the other samples tested. In addition, the analyzed results of fermented mashing showed that the Nuruk made from A. oryzae or A. kawachii had a significantly higher aroma profile, such as higher alcohol and ester than the other samples tested, whereas the Nuruk made from a mixture of A. oryzae and A. kawachii had a much higher organic acid content. In conclusion, the Nuruk prepared using A. oryzae or A. kawachii had a positive effect on the complete fermentation and enhanced aroma compounds for Korean Cheongju production.

The study examined the relationship among metal health, metabolic syndrome and nutrient acceptance according to gender. Implemented until 2010-2012, the 5th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, as an original document, was used for the study. The target was problem drinkers with more than 12 points under AUDIT. Regarding mental health, it was classified into stress, depression and suicidal impulse. Metabolic syndrome was defined when three causes of BMI, waist circumference, FBS, HDL and BP were out of the normal range. The nutrient intake was obtained to confirm the energy intake of nine non-nutrients (Nutrient adequacy ratio: NAR) and the proper intake of the average non-nutrient (Mean adequacy ratio: MAR). These variables were analyzed by frequency, cross analysis and multiple regression analysis through SPSS18.0. In the general features, there was a significant difference according to age, occupation and marital status. In mental health, stress, depression and suicidal impulse were examined. Metabolic syndrome was dependant on FBS, HDL and BP. The nutrient acceptance depended on calcium, vitamin A, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin C, and MAR. Logistic regression analysis performed on the variables showed significant differences. Stress, depression, and thoughts of suicide was significantly higher in men aged 19-29 years, and women aged 30-49 years. In the case of the male, those who employed have metabolic syndrome more than those who unemployed. In terms of female, those who were belonged into the middle - low economic level have undergone with metabolic syndrome. In the part of a Mean adequacy ratio(MAR), the male who unmarried, employed, were in the middle low economic levelwere higher. In the case of the female, it was higher for those who were in the middle - low economic level. Overall, an effective way of planning the solution regarding mental health, metabolic syndrome and nutrient intake can be found by considering these features.
Factors relating to Success to Quit Smoking among Citizens Receiving Smoking-Cessation Clinics Services in a Public Health Center

The aim of this study was to find the factors related to smoking-cessation among citizens receiving smoking-cessation clinics' services in a public health center in Daejeon metropolitan city. The study subjects were 2,125 participants registered in "smoking-cessation clinic", public health centers in 2007. Frequency analysis, chi-squared test and multiple logistic regression analysis were used to determine the relationships between the success rate of smoking-cessation and the characteristics. The success rate of smoking-cessation during 6 months was 39.8%. Males had a higher rate than females, and people over 65 years of age had a higher rate than those less than 40 years of age. High blood pressure, drinking of more 2 times per week, regular exercise, CO under 10ppm had significantly relationships with the smoking-cessation rate. The other independent variables had no statistically significance with the smoking-cessation success rate. Logistic regression analysis showed that age, number of nicotine patches used and total consultation times had significantly relationships with the smoking-cessation success rate. The total consultation times showed the highest odds ratio than the other significant factors. This study suggests that regular consultations will be the most effective intervention towards maintaining smoking cessation programs of smoking-cessation clinics in public health centers.
Allium monanthum Flavors, Biological Activity and Characteristics according to collecting in Different Region

This study was conducted from 2010 to May 2012 to determine the volatile flavor compositions, biological activity and components of A. monanthum from different regions in Korea. The flavors of A. monanthum were extracted by SPME methods and it contained forty-two compounds that included mainly hydrocarbons and acids. The cancer cell growth inhibition activities of A. monanthum on the cancer cell (HaCaT, HepG2, HCT116, PC3) line were increased in a dose-dependent manner and the hexane fraction showed the highest antiproliferation effects. A. monanthum also showed the highest antioxidant activity. The results suggest that A. monanthum can be used as bioactive and functional materials.
Effects of an exercise program for fall prevention of the elderly in rural communities

Falls are one of the most serious problem that threatens the health of the elderly. This study was conducted twice a week for six weeks from May to June 2014 to evaluate the effectiveness of fall prevention exercises for rural seniors. This study analyzed the effects by comparing before and after exercise on the TUG, FRT, BBS, ADL, fear of falls, fall efficacy, and depression. The results of this study was as follows: Hypothesis1, "a TUG of post-test will improve more than the pre-test", was supported. Hypothesis3, "BBS of the post-test would improve more than the pre-test" was supported. In addition, the FRT, ADL, fear of fall, fall efficacy, and depression of post-test would improve more than the pre-test. Accordingly this study showed that fall prevention exercises are effective in improving the physical function (TUG, FRT, BBS, and ADL) and emotional function (fear of fall, fall efficacy, and depression) in rural seniors.
Application of a Flashlight system for White LEDs Manufactured using a Reproduction Phosphor

White LEDs are expected to be applied widely as a lighting system. To make white LED chips, one requires a mixture with silicon and a phosphor coating on a LED blue chip. The process of preparing a mixture with silicon using phosphor involves the use of discarded phosphor in the chip process. Reducing the costs of chip production depends on many factors, such as the mixture errors, exposure over time of silicon, and changes in the characteristics of blue chip. This paper reports the characteristics of a white LED chip manufactured through a reproduction process of derelict phosphor. This method was applicable to a real LED flashlight. A derelict phosphor chip showed similar results to a normal white chip for the degradation of cd 3.2[Cd] and 3.6[Cd], color temperature, 57[K] and 58[K], and maximum white wavelength 444.3[nm] and 449.8[nm]. These results are expected to make ea great contribution to cost reduction.

A 'Light switch remote control' was made with an android smartphone and a smart light switch, which can use wireless communication on this paper. A smart light switch uses an embedded board and Bluetooth communication to receive and transmit data, and it receives and sends data again with a smartphone and wireless communication. This study used the flexibility of sensors that could be added later to utilize the embedded board as a gateway. This skill is being serviced now in a new apartment and building. On the other hand, existing households that do not support this skill can use it if they change only the switch. In conclusion, this system ensured user convenience and flexibility of system.

City image improvement is very important, particularly in city tourism development because tourism depends on image. Some cities have made efforts to develop a positive city image with local festivals. The purpose of this study was to assess the tourists' satisfaction of local festivals. First, the city image was focused on three factors; city satisfaction, experience and convenience. Second, the city image was influenced significantly by city satisfaction and direct or indirect experience. These results show that effective strategies are needed for the successful IT implementation in local festivals. The use of mobile applications and GIS-based sensors provide local festival information for tourists who receive information, Finally, a well made city image combines city identity and originality, which will attract many tourists and visitors.
Operating characteristics of Floating Gate Organic Memory

Organic memory devices were made using the plasma polymerization method. The memory device consisted of ppMMA(plasma polymerization MMA) thin films as the tunneling and insulating layer, and a Au thin film as the memory layer, which was deposited by thermal evaporation. The organic memory operation theory was developed according to the charging and discharging characteristics of floating gate type memory, which would be measured by the hysteresis voltage and memory voltage with the gate voltage values. The I-V characteristics of the fabricated memory device showed a hysteresis voltage of 26 [V] at 60 ~ -60 [V] double sweep measuring conditions. The programming voltage was applied to the gate electrode in accordance with the result of this theory. A programming voltage of 60[V] equated to a memory voltage of 13[V], and 80[V] equated to a memory voltage of 18[V]. The memory voltage of approximately 40 [%]increased with increasing programming voltage. The charge memory layer charging or discharging according to the theory of the memory was verified experimentally.
Advanced Scheme for PDR system Using Neural Network

This paper proposes an improved scheme of pedestrian position information system using neural network theory in a GPS-disabled area. Through a learning/obtaining gait pattern and step distance about walk, run, duck walk, crab walk and crawl, the position estimation error could be minimized by rejecting the inertial navigation drift. A portable hardware module was implemented to evaluate the performance of the proposed system. The performance and effectiveness of the suggested algorithm was verified by experiments indoors.

Better quality software can be made by eliminating the software product risk in the early stages. To achieve this task, a risk analysis system that can effectively track and manage risks that have severe effects on software quality is needed. The existing risk analysis systems have some weaknesses as they are applied to organizations. The major problems of those systems are that they require organizations to collect as much risk data at a time without providing a proper explanation and even without the support of a risk management process. This paper resolves those problems by developing a risk analysis system that offers methods of managing risks. In addition, the system provides the guidelines of which risks should be gathered for each step. The system also has functions to generate a range of strategy and analysis information on risks.
System Level Performance Evaluation of TICN Based on Mobile WiMAX

This study analyzed the system level performance of the Mobile WiMAX-based TICN, and the effects of the use of BS-OTM in terms of the throughput of individual users as well as the overall system, assuming that other stationary BSs are distributed randomly. When BS-OTM is used, the CINRs decrease due to the additional interference from the BS-OTM from the perspective of SSs that are served by the same BS as when OTM BS is not used. On the other hand, from the perspective of SSs that had low CINRs, the CINRs increase significantly due to the new service from BS-OTM. Considering both effects, the cell throughput can be increased using BS-OTM. The CINR distribution and throughput of the overall system, changing the carrier frequency, position and velocity of the BS-OTM were also evaluated.
Study of Problem Design for PBL in Creative Engineering Design Subject

The aim of this study was to specify the procedures of problem design for employing problem based learning (PBL) and designing problems for the learning content of the subject. The procedures for designing good problems are composed of the selection of educational contents, determining the learner's characteristics, identifying problems, setting roles and situations, and writing down problems. Using the procedures, four integration problems covering the contents of a creative engineering design subject were designed. The talent needed in a current industrial site can be fostered with PBL, not whole-class learning. A creative engineering design subject based on PBL was planned, which focused on the process of design problems. To make an effect of this PBL, studies applying this instructional design to many lectures should be implemented.
Design of a Metamodel for the Development Process of a Mobile Application

Because of the rapid growth of smart phone market, the number of mobile applications has increased exponentially. As mobile applications are developing at a rapid rate, many of them are being developed without considering a systematic development process or quality factors, such as reusability, extensibility, etc.. As a result, they have many faults internally, they are being underrated in satisfaction or reliability from customers, and finally customers do not update or repeat the purchase. Therefore, a meta-model of development process for mobile applications was designed to improve the continuous usability of mobile applications as well as the satisfaction and reliability from users. Applying development process based on a meta-model to mobile application development is expected to improve development productivity and quality of mobile applications.

Recently, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, such as spreading malicious code, cyber-terrorism, have occurred in government agencies, the press and the financial sector. DDoS attacks are the simplest Internet-based infringement attacks techniques that have fatal consequences. DDoS attacks have caused bandwidth consumption at the network layer. These attacks are difficult to detect defend against because the attack packets are not significantly different from normal traffic. Abnormal traffic is threatening the stability of the network. Therefore, the abnormal traffic by generating indications will need to be detected in advance. This study examined the abnormal traffic detection technique using a forecasting model-based trend model.
Fast Human Detection Algorithm for High-Resolution CCTV Camera

This paper suggests a fast human detection algorithm that can be applied to a high-resolution CCTV camera. Human detection algorithms, which used a HOG detector show high performance in the region of image processing. On the other hand, it is difficult to apply to real-time high resolution imaging because of its slow processing speed in the extracting figures of HOG. To resolve this problems, we suggest how to detect humans into two stages. First, candidates of a human region are found using background subtraction, and humans and non-humans are distinguished using a HOG detector only. This process increases the detection speed by approximately 2.5 times without any degradation in performance.
Solder Region Detection and Height Calculation by the Characteristics and Phase Difference of the 3D Profiles in Moire Images

The cause of defects in the PCB SMT assembly is mostly solder paste deposits. Conventional inspection methods for solder paste deposits suffer from slow speed, low reliability and high cost. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for calculating the height and region of solder paste on PCB using the 3D profiles without measuring the 2D image. The solder paste region is detected by the phase difference in the measurement points and the average phase on the whole surface of PCB. The high reliable height of the solder paste region is computed by the average of the measurement points' phase with repeatability and reliability. The experimental results revealed improvements of 17% in inspection time and 29% repeatability in the height calculation of the solder paste region, resulting in a high speed and less expensive system.
Improvement in the classification performance of Raman spectra using a hierarchical tree structure

This paper proposes a method in which classes are grouped as a hierarchical tree structure for the effective classification of the Raman spectra. As experimental data, the Raman spectra of 28 chemical compounds were obtained, and pre-treated with noise removal and normalization. The spectra that induced a classification error were grouped into the same class and the hierarchical structure class was composed. Each high and low class was classified using a PCA-MAP method. According to the experimental results, the classification of 100% was achieved with 2.7 features on average when the proposed method was applied. Considering that the same classification rates were achieved with 6 features using the conventional method, the proposed method was found to be much better than the conventional one in terms of the total computational complexity and practical application.
Wavelength Selective Switch using LCoS Display

This paper presents the characterization of the wavelength selective switch using a LCOS display instead of a MEMS device, which is a core technology for the next generation ROADM. We constructed a five-port WSS, and examined the basic characteristics of the WSS, such as the response time, beam steering, insertion loss, and channel isolation. The response time of WSS was 11.6 mS and the beam steering characteristics of LCOS was well performed. The measured insertion loss at 40 channels in the c-band were 5.5~12.7 dB and channel isolation was 16~18 dB. Although the characteristics of LCOS-based WSS are inferior to the conventional MEMS-based WSS, it can be improved by additional experiments that secure the technology competitiveness.

The development of public-key-based technique that enables a variety of services(E-government, e-banking, e-payment, etc.) evaluated as having complete safety. On the other hand, vulnerabilities(e.g, heartbleed bug, etc.) are constantly being discovered. In this paper, a public key infrastructure to verify the safety and reliability, the collision rate using OpenSSL key pair was analyzed. the experiment was performed using the following procedure. Openssl was used to create five private certification agencies, and each of the private certificate authority certificates to create 2 million, generating a total of 10 million by the certificate of the key pair conflicts analysis. The results revealed 35,000 in 1 million, 0.35% chance of a public key, a private key conflict occurred. This is sufficient in various fields(E-payment, Security Server, etc.). A future public-key-based technique to remove the threat of a random number generator, large minority issues, in-depth study of selection will be needed.
Development of system NFC-based medication management for elderly patients

With entering into an aged society, more people need to pay attention to their health and disease. In particular, it is significant for senior citizens with chronic disease to have a medication system because it is related directly to their lives. This study suggested the NFC-based medication management system for elderly patents. By developing a NFC-based medication bottle cap and smart phone application program, the suggested method can assist elderly patients to take medicines properly without missing or abusing them through guidance and alarm, and maintain their health.
Study on Decision for Landslide Hazard Areas by Using GIS

Landslides occur in Korea every year because it has numerous mountainous regions and approximately two-thirds of the annual rainfall falls in Summer. Therefore, it is important to predict potential areas of landslides and minimize the damage in advance to protect property and human life. Therefore, in the present study, the potential danger areas were extracted from a digital map, digital forest map, digital forest site environmental map, and digital geologic map to estimate the landslide hazard. In addition, the assessment of landslide danger was analyzed by first and second estimations based on the criteria from the Korea Forest Research Institute using a GIS technique, which was finally judged by a field investigation.
Flexural Behavior of Concrete Beams Reinforced with GFRP Bars

This paper presents the results of flexural test of concrete beams reinforced with GFRP and conventional steel reinforcement for comparison. The beams were tested under a static load to examine the effects of the reinforcement ratio and compressive strength of concrete on cracking, deflection, ultimate capacity, and modes of failure. The test results showed that the ultimate capacity of the GFRP-reinforced beams increased with increasing reinforcement ratio and concrete strength, showing a 41.3~51.6% increase compared to steel reinforced beams. The deflections at maximum loads of the GFRP reinforced beams were 4.1~6.3 times higher that of steel reinforced beams. The measured deflections of GFRP reinforced beams decreased approximately 31% compared to the theoretical predictions because the theoretical flexural stiffness was underestimated at the maximum loads. For the GFRP-reinforced beams, the ACI code 440 design method resulted in conservative flexural strength estimates.
Hydraulic model test for corrugated artificial reef stability

In Korea, the quantitative growth rate of artificial reef construction is supposed to reach the peak point. Therefore, new approach is needed to the point of artificial reefs business. Functional reefs, such as shellfish reefs, recreational reefs, seaweed reefs, and fish reefs, are beneficial alternatives. This study conducted hydraulic testing to assess the stability of corrugated artificial reefs (ARs) that were constructed to promote the growth of shellfish and seaweed. The results of this study showed that some dimensionless design parameters affected the stability of corrugated artificial reefs under a range of wave and water depth conditions in a fixed bed condition. The findings also highlight the importance of hydraulic experiments in solving the problems that have emerged in the design and construction of artificial reefs.
Development of the Spatial Indexing Method for the Effective Visualization of BIM data based on GIS

Recently, with the increasing interest in facility management based on indoor spatial information, various studies have been attempted to manage facility conversion between BIM and GIS. Visualization of the geometry data for a large-scale is one of the major issues to the maintenance system. Therefore, this study designed the spatial indexing algorithm through an IFC schema-based scenario for the effective visualization of BIM data based on GIS. A part of the algorithm was developed implementing the OcTree structure and this research has a test for the developed output with IFC sample data. Ultimately, we propose the spatial indexing method for the effective visualization of BIM data based on GIS.
Analytical Verification of the Standard Inclinations of Slope in the Design Criteria

Slope stability analyses were conducted to investigate the limitations of application of the standard inclination of slope and the effects of the berm width on the slope stability. The standard slope inclination could be applied to the basic slope sections that were considered for the analyses, whereas additional slope stability analysis should be performed for the case of considering ground water. A comparison of the factors of safety between the case of installing a berm and the case of letting the grading have an equivalent section area with the case of installing the berm, the factors of safety in the case of installing a berm were greater than those for the case of allowing grading, and the differences between the factors of safety increase with increasing berm width. For all the sections considered in the analyses, the increments of the safety factor were proportional to the width of the berm and those corresponding to the embankment slope and cut slope with a berm width of 7m were 34.5% and 48%, respectively.
Degree of the Contribution of Disaster and Safety Education as an Index of Climate Change Vulnerability

Climate change is one of the most important factors increasing a system's vulnerability. Therefore, various methods have been applied to evaluate the vulnerability to develop an appropriate adaptation policy to minimize the effects of climate change. On the other hand, it has barely been used to examine the suitability of the selected proxy variables to calculate the vulnerability. In this study, it was shown that the degree of disaster and safety education should be considered as one of the proxy variables in non-structural measures when the vulnerability is calculated using an expert survey. As a result, the degree of the contribution on the climate change vulnerability can be different according to the education target and the characteristics of various systems. The results might be useful for developing a climate change adaptation policy in a specific area.
Study of the Dormitory Architecture of Governmental Secondary Schools in the Japanese Colonial Era

This study reviewed the planning characteristics of dormitories for secondary schools in the Japanese Colonial Era by analyzing the architectural drawings collected by the National Archives of Korea. The dormitory was one of the essential facilities in secondary schools but there have been few studies in this area. The analysis items were the site plan and the planning characteristics of student bedrooms, dining hall, and supervisor's area, which were the main elements of the dormitory. The results of this study were summarized as follows. 1) Generally, the dormitory area was placed in the rear of buildings for teaching with a close connection. 2) The student bedroom wings were laid out in parallel to the south as a rule making the typical site plan pattern for a dormitory, whereas the other parts of dormitory, such as the dining hall and supervisor's area were placed in the site conditions. 3) Generally, the unit plans of bedrooms for Korean schools were the ondol type and were small in size, whereas those for Japanese were the tatami type and large in size with separate study and sleeping areas. 4) The dining hall annex was made up of a dining hall and kitchen-bathroom area in general. For Japanese schools, the school store area was added to these areas. The typical shapes of dining hall plans were narrow and long with an adjacent corridor, so the overall plan of the dining hall annex was like that of a single-corridor type block plan. 5) The supervisor's area was a smaller part of the dormitory but it was considered to be a symbolic part of the whole dormitory in site planning and design.
Evaluation of the Contribution Ratio that the Pollution Loads of the Drainage Areas Affect Soyang-lake

This study examined contribution rate on the Soyangho Lake watershed based on the flow regime, and seasonal change was evaluated by calculating the delivery pollution load of the drainage area of Soyangho Lake watershed. According to the contribution rate of the drainage area by the flow regime change, Inbukcheon Creek watershed's SS and T-P entry have recorded abnormal Six month flow and a contribution rate of 46% and 51% during the Low-water flow period. At the same time, the T-P recorded a 49.5% contribution rate and a contribution rate of 48.5% during the Low-water flow period. In sequence, Inbukcheon creek's SS entry recorded a comparatively higher contribution rate than the other drainage area, which are 39.6% and 44.3% during the entire season and 53.8% for T-P, as a result of observing the contribution rate based on the seasonal changes. The T-N at the Naerincheon Creek watershed for the entire season recorded a contribution rate between 39.6% and 44.3%. Overall, Inbukcheon Creek watershed's SS and T-P entry and Naerincheon creek's T-N had a high contribution rate on contaminant spill.
Examination on unified Silla's cultural exchange and brick pagoda formation course

Korean pagodas were constructed in the shape of a wood pagoda, brick pagoda, stone pagoda, etc. On the other hand, the currently remaining traditional pagodas are those having nonflammable materials, such as brick, stone, etc. Compared to the stone pagoda, there is data regarding brick pagodas, but there is little literature data on how to construct these pagodas. This appears to be because there are relatively few Korean brick pagodas currently remaining, they are locally restricted, the material limit is not overcome, pagoda's historical and regional problems have not been analyzed, and pagoda construction is centered on pagoda construction. Therefore, this study examined the local cultural characteristics on the construction of brick pagodas. As a result, cultural exchange between Korea and China was performed through the silk road and there was a marine route for cultural exchange. Such exchange was shared with the East Asia area as well, which can be found by comparing remains at related areas. Exchange with China can be mentioned as the selective exchange of local powers as well as blind learning. Second, brick pagoda were constructed in Korea because of the good quality soil easily. Uisang's Hwaeomjong was negotiated with the main power not agreeing with Buddhism, which was popularized and the local power. Third, brick pagoda construction was influenced by negotiation related between Balhae and Silla, in which the ethnic influence was locally affected and could be mentioned as being a culturally selective result transferred from China. As a result, brick pagodas can be oriented by forming a unitary state rather than a small country within China's influence range as well as cultural transfer through the silk road.
Study of the Development of Interactive Virtual Model House at Apartment

This study developed Interactive Virtual Model House (IVMH) to provide the cyber model house, homepage of apartment complex, and smart home, which have been indicated as an alternative for improving the residential environments, as a total system. For this cause, the concept of IVMH was established and the apartment and 3-types ways used in the existing system were studied. Based on the organized data, the elements of IVMH by technology and environment were examined, and the model of IVMH was completed. IVMH is a model of an integrated system that supports offering information in apartments using digital technology, supporting conveniences, communication and reflection of opinion. In addition, it will be provided with applicable contents from now on. For those reasons, it is expected to be effective in helping improve habitability.
Evaluation of the Weak Part for Wave Dissipating Blocks under Various Conditions: Tetrapod

Super typhoons develop as a result of meteorological changes. In 2012, Typhoons Bolaven and Denba reached Korea. The maximum instantaneous wind speed of the typhoons reached 60 m/sec. Harbor structures including sofa block sustained damage and loss by the abnormally high waves. In Korea, tetrapod blocks were installed the most for wave dissipating. Nevertheless, a structural evaluation of the tetrapod block has not been performed. This study examined the structural mechanism and weakness part of the tetrapod block under a range of boundary conditions. The block has weakness against a tensile force because it is plain concrete. The joint part of the legs is the most vulnerable to tensile stress. The weakest part can be reduced if the joint part is reinforced as a hunch.
Anti-corrugation activity of micosporine-like amino acid mixtures from Chlamydomonas sp.

To examine the effects of a mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) mixture from microalgae, Chlamydomonas sp, on the anti-wrinkle activities, the expression levels of genes that are associated with skin aging, including type I procollagen, elastin and involucrin, were analyzed. Asterina 330+palythine (A+P) and shinorine+palythine (S+P) mixtures were purified from Chlamydomonas sp using the following steps: 80% methanolic extraction, column purification, and HPLC analysis. As a result of the MTT assay, A+P and S+P did not induce cellular cytotoxicity with up to 0.1 mg/mL of both MAAs. In addition, the treatment of UV-exposed fibroblasts with A+P (0.05 mg/mL) and S+P (0.01 mg/mL) increased the levels of the PCOLCE mRNAs by 2.7 and 3.6 fold compared to the control group, respectively, The levels of elastin gene expression were elevated 5.59 and 3.1 fold in the A+P and S+P treated (0.01 mg/mL) cells, respectively. In particular, at a concentration of 0.01 mg /mL, the A+P and S+P expression levels of Involucrin mRNAs were increased 3.5 and 2.5 fold in the UV-exposed cells compared to the control, respectively. In conclusion, the MAAs derived from Chlamydomonas sp can be utilized as functional cosmetic materials with anti-wrinkle effects on the skin.
A Study on Steel Properties for Floating Photovoltaic System Structure

For the development of a floating photovoltaic system, materials with light weight and high tensile strength must be applied to reduce the burden on buoyancy, and material characteristics with high resistance to corrosion in water environment is required. Accordingly, a new high strength steel material with improved strength, durability, manufacturability, and weldability that are appropriate for floating photovoltaic system structures is needed. This paper reports the results of a mechanical load test and steel corrosion test on general steel (SS400) and high strength steel (POSH 690) for the selection of an appropriate steel material for a floating photovoltaic system. The results of a test on new high strength steel revealed excellent mechanical performance compared to general steel. The new steel material was manufactured for use in an actual site, and the weight was reduced by approximately 30~40% compared to existing general steel.
Development of a digital LCD emblem system and attachment on airbag cover

Car emblems are representative of both the car and driver. Each emblem had its own distinct history and meaning. Today, customers and car designers require high quality car emblems. Today's car emblems are made of plastic, metal, steel, and aluminum. The emblems need to represent the designer's creative idea and symbol of car. On the other hand, the development period of an emblem requires a minimum of 6 months. When the design of an emblem is changed, more time is required. The paradigm shift of a car emblem changes from analog to digital. In this research, a digital LCD emblem system and the method of attaching it to the airbag cover were developed. When the airbag is engaged, digital LCD emblem system is not separated from the airbag.
Expression of the red sea bream iridovirus (RSIV) capsid protein using a yeast surface display method

The red seabream iridovirus (RSIV), which belongs to the iridoviridae, causes infectious fish diseases in many Asian countries, leading to considerable economic losses to the aquaculture industry. Using the yeast surface display (YSD) technique, a new experimental system was recently developed for the detection and identification of a variety of marine viruses. In this study, a coat protein gene of RSIV was synthesized based on the nucleotide sequence database and subcloned into the yeast expression vector, pCTCON2. The expression of viral coat proteins in the yeast strain, EBY100, was detected by flow cytometry and Western blot analysis. Finally, they were isolated from the yeast surface through a treatment with
-mercaptoethanol. The data suggests that the YSD system can be a useful method for acquiring coating proteins of marine viruses.
