Choi, Yong-Bum ; Lee, Hae-Seung ; Han, Dong-Joon ; Kwon, Jae-Hyouk ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7227~7236
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7227
The survey revealed that, due to the discharge characteristics of seafood wastewater, irregular inflow loads were caused, making it difficult to treat the wastewater safely. It is crucial for the operation of pressure and floating tanks for the treatment of high-concentration organic wastewater such as seafood wastewater. The survey of operation factors for the pressure and floating tanks revealed this: A/S ratio 0.05 (design criteria 0.01), the pressurized air pressure 8bar(design criteria 6bar), the pressure tank pressure 6bar (design criteria 4.5bar), and HRT 60sec(design criteria: 10sec). Also, the recirculation rate was changed to over 40%(design criteria: 30%), and the surface load rate was changed to under
(design criteria: under
); thus, compared to the initial design criteria, the operation factors were changed according to inflow characteristics, thus enhancing the pressure and floating tank performance. The survey of inflow load revealed BOD 140.7%,
120.32%, and SS 106.3%, compared to the inflow design criteria, as well as T-N 135.5% and T-P173.3%, higher than the design criteria. The survey of the treatment facility annual operation cost revealed high portions in sludge treatment cost(27.7%) and chemicals costs(26.0%), and the sludge treatment cost will likely further increase due to the ban on ocean dumping. The unit cost for the treatment of seafood wastewater was found to be KRW 3,858 per ton, more than 27 times higher than the sewage treatment cost(KRW 142.6/ton), presumably because the seafood wastewater contains high-concentration organic substances and nutritive salts.

Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) has been provided not only manual of managing infectious patient but also functional requirement of space in emergency department(ED) by distributing "Guideline for infection control in emergency department(GICED)" in 2009. To understand how much the guideline enforces its functional requirement on ED planning practice, it is compared to Emergency Medical Service Act(EMSA) a basic standard for ED planning. As a result, it is clear that those have different focal point in functional program and don't share infection control issue. By reviewing target hospitals' EDs opened around 2009, all ED have satisfied with the EMSA requirement but guideline. Those are selectively adapted infection control related spaces CDC guideline suggested regardless of open year so that target EDs are not to be influenced by the guideline. This research can support as a reference research when the EMSA are going to be reinforced by infection contol issue.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7414~7423
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7414
Subjective cognitive-linguistic complaints in older adults contribute to the diagnostic and prognostic investigation of MCI or dementia. However, the utility of subjective test for predicting cognitive-linguistic decline is controversial. Few domestic studies have included the correlation between subjective and objective tests systematically. The current study analyzed 26 studies published since 2000, and the effect sizes of their correlation coefficients between two tests were computed. The results of qualitative analysis indicated that the number of subjects ranged from 26 to 657. Subjective tests included the self-report 75.4% and the informant-report 24.6%. In objective tests, memory comprised the largest proportion, followed by global cognition, and language, etc. As a result of meta-analysis, self-report test had the predictive value for dementia, and informant-report test contributed to discriminate among 3 groups. In the elderly group, self-report test was correlated with reasoning, and informant-report test with memory and language. In MCIs, self-report test predicted several abilities including language, and informant-report test signaled the future decline of domains like global cognition. Two types of subjective tests in dementia also represented memory, language, and global cognition accurately. This study provides evidence-based information to support relationships between subjective and objective tests for cognitive-linguistic ability in 3 groups.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7456~7462
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7456
This paper proposes a spectral efficient space-frequency(SF) block coded single carrier-frequency division multiple access(SC-FDMA) transmission system in a relaying multi-path shadow area. The cyclic prefix(CP) is not used in the proposed system in order to prevent a loss of spectral efficiency due to the use of CP. The destruction of channel cyclicity due to the lack of CP is recovered at the receivers of relays and a destination station. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed system without CP is almost same as that of the conventional system with full CP, thus increasing the spectral efficiency.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7549
The aim of this study was to develop gastric retentive bi-layered tablet using floating drug delivery technique. Metformin was selected as a model drug due to its narrow absorption window as well as very highly water solubility. These properties of metformin led to be difficult controlling the drug release. The bi-layered tablet was prepared with bi-layered compression machine to minimize interference between floating part and controlling part. The tablet weight, appearance and hardness were evaluated after compression process. The times of 'time to floating' and 'Floating duration' were tested for floating ability and drug release study was also carried out to understand drug release behavior. Furthermore, the drug release of bi-layered tablet was compared with marketed metformin tablet with sustained release pattern (Glucopharge XR
).The floating ability and drug release behaviors were well controlled by changing amounts of
(floating substance) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC; release control material). Bi-layered tablet had 13s of time to float, over 10h of floating duration and very similar drug release behavior compared with Glucopharge XR
: 89.6). Consequently, the bi-layered tablet with floating ability was successfully prepared and these properties can maximize the efficacy of metformin.

Corticotropin-releasing factor(CRF), one of the stress driven neuropeptides, was widely proposed to influence hair loss and re-growth. For the development of receptor antagonists, the screening system based on intracellular calcium signal process was developed and optimized. The aequorin parental cells were transfected with CRF1 receptor and alpha 16 promiscuous G protein cDNA to establish HEK293a16/hCRF1, a stable cell line for the human CRF1 receptor. In HEK293a16/hCRF1 cells, the range of sauvagine dose response was 12-fold higher(
) than in the transiently expressed cells, hence essential conditions for the antagonist screening experiments such as the robust signals and high solvent tolerance were secured. The standard antagonists for the CRF1 receptor, antalarmin and CP154526, resulted
, respectively. Similar results were presented with frozen HEK293a16/hCRF1 cells. Finally, our HEK293a16/hCRF1 cells with the aequorin based cellular functional assay can be a model system for the development of functional cosmetics and modulators that can have a clinical efficacy on hair re-growth.

Min, Seungwook ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7582~7588
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7582
Noncoherent receivers are favored for block-code-modulated ultrawideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) systems because of their low implementation complexity compared with coherent rake receivers. However, existing noncoherent schemes, such as transmitted reference (TR) systems and averaged differential receivers (ADR), suffer from performance degradation and energy efficiency loss. Codeword matching and signal aggregation (CMSA) is a low complexity noncoherent receiver for UWB-IR. As the frame/symbol duration is shortened to boost data rate, interframe interference (IFI) or intersymbol interference (ISI) occurs and degrades the detection performance of CMSA. In this paper, block coded correlator which consists of the delay components and the reference signal is proposed to improve the performance of the receiver. Simulation results show that the proposed system leads to the better performance compared to the conventional CMSA receiver.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7635
The purpose of this study is modeling nursing competencies and reasoning out the core competencies, the ability for 20% of important actions for nursing jobs which can manage the rest 80% so that the competency-based nursing curriculum can be developed. A literature review of the vast studies regarding competencies was done to understand the concepts of competency-based curriculum, competency, and nursing competencies, identifying the relationships among each nursing competency categorized in accordance with those concepts. An exemplified concept map of core competencies for the competency-based nursing curriculum is suggested based on a thorough review of various competency modeling methodologies. The core competencies consist of base competency (theoretical/practical nursing knowledge and skills), practical competency (clinical judgment, patient education, communication, etc.), and personality competency (leadership, sense of responsibility, cooperation, etc.). The circular relationship among them can remain consistent through self-directed learning and critical thinking. Therefore, a nurse who have those core competencies is a knowledge worker, a self-directed learner, and also an effective, professional communicator. Further studies which solidify the concept of nursing competencies should be done, as well as the feedback procedures which evaluate the program outcomes and then reflect the evaluation results in the curriculum should be followed continuously.

This study examines the dynamic relations between housing price and trading volume in a set of apartment markets in Republic of Korea to explore the informational role of trading volume in predicting the price volatility. Using monthly index data, EGARCH model is utilized to test for volume effect. To estimate the EGARCH-based volatility, two different sets of region are applied for the monthly return. Strong evidence has been found towards housing turnover leading price volatility, this supports previous studies on financial sector(s). These findings also support that trading volume in the housing market contains information on investor sentiment which, in turn, has a valuation effect on the price.

Semantic similarity between words can be applied in many fields including computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, and information retrieval. In this paper, we present weighted method for measuring a semantic similarity between words in a document. This method uses edge distance and depth of WordNet. The method calculates a semantic similarity between words on the basis of document information. Document information uses word term frequencies(TF) and word concept frequencies(CF). Each word weight value is calculated by TF and CF in the document. The method includes the edge distance between words, the depth of subsumer, and the word weight in the document. We compared out scheme with the other method by experiments. As the result, the proposed method outperforms other similarity measures. In the document, the word weight value is calculated by the proposed method. Other methods which based simple shortest distance or depth had difficult to represent the information or merge informations. This paper considered shortest distance, depth and information of words in the document, and also improved the performance.

Considering the significant waste of industrial energy, effective use of low temperature waste heat is extremely important. In this study, a heat pump cycle with double effect and double stage was realized, which escalates the hot water temperature from
high temperature heat source and
low temperature heat source. The steam generated in the first generator condenses in the first condenser generating steam in the second generator. The steam condenses in the second condenser and is provided to the second evaporator. Part of the water out of the second evaporator is supplied to the first evaporator, which evaporates using low temperature waste heat. The evaporated steam enters the first absorber and the second evaporator. The steam out of the second evaporator is absorbed into the solution at the second absorber. The hot water temperature is raised in the second condenser and in the second absorber. Proper flow rates and UA values, which satisfied temperature lift
and COP 1.6, were deduced through trior and error. The COP increases as the temperature of the high temperature water increases, hot water temperature decreases and flow rate increases, waste water temperature and flow rate increases, solution circulation rate decreases. On the other hand, the temperature rise of the hot water increases as the temperature of the high temperature water increases, hot water temperature increases and flow rate decreases, waste water temperature and flow rate increases, solution circulation rate increases. In addition, the COP and hot water temperature rise increase as UAs of the heat exchangers increase.

The outer tie rod is one of the part of steering system, the optimization process was executed to find the lightweight design. The inner tie rod was considered in the optimum design of an outer tie rod. it could be closer to the test condition than in the case of considering outer tie rod only. The aluminum forging material was considered as a weight reduction proposal. The target of optimization was the shape of the minimum weight to resist at the load of buckling. RSM and Kriging interpolation method were applied as a optimization method to consider the nonlinear shape optimization problem. Then, 16.3%, 16.6% of weight reduction was obtained from the result comparing with that of the initial model. The results of meta model optimization was compared with that of finite element method. The error values of buckling load estimation were 2.6%, 2.04%. and those of weight estimation were 0.17%, 0.13%. Therefore, it seemed that the result of Kriging model could be obtained closer to optimum value than that of RSM model.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7788~7793
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7788
Both export and import sides of grain trade market are analyzed and compared in terms of the static levels and dynamic trends to make new empirical inference on the imperfect competition degree. Export concentration level is high compared to import concentration level. And such states have been sustained since 2001 until 2014. Unlike public concerns, the concentration level of export side seems to be easing by small degree. However, the grain trade market remains imperfect competitive market. Furthermore, overall imperfective competition condition over 2002-2014 has been worsened compared to 2001 level. It is because the reduction level of imports concentration is higher than that of the export concentration. Gini and Atkinson Inequality Index based on Lorenz Curve are newly utilized to analyze market concentration level, instead of the commonly used concentration ratio.

Nursing students experienced anxiety and fear of building relationships with psychiatric patients due to lack of professional knowledge about metal illness and skill to take care of the patients. The simulation education is known as an effective teaching-learning method since being performed in a non-threatening environment similar to clinical setting. The purpose of this nonequivalent quasi-experimental study was to identify the effect of simulation on anxiety and self-confidence about the psychiatric-mental health nursing practice. The third year nursing students at a three year nursing program were participated in this study. For the experimental group (N=28) the simulation education using the standardized patient based on the scenario for patients with schizophrenia was performed, and for the control group (N=18), the debated education applying the case study same as for the experimental group was made in the class. Using SPSS, t-test and ANCOVA were analyzed to compare the anxiety and self-confidence between the experimental and control groups. As a result of the study, the anxiety score on psychiatric-mental health nursing clinical practice of the experimental group significantly decreased, compared to that of the control group, but the self-confidence score for the performance of psychiatric nursing care showed no significant differences between the groups. Accordingly the simulation education can be an effective educational method to reduce anxiety about psychiatric-mental health nursing clinical practice for nursing students.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7820~7830
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7820
Korean households' demand for food consumed away from home is on the steady increase. The ratio of eating-out expenditure of the household income, however, tends to decrease recently irrespective of income groups. This paper, therefore, aims to analyse the food-away-from-home expenditures of salary and wage earners' households by income decile group. The eating-out expenditure is modelled as a function of household income and then estimated using econometric methods such as regression, rolling regression, impulse response, and variance decomposition of forecast error. The regression results indicate that the higher the income decile group is, the lower the income elasticity of eating-out expenditure is, and the high income groups enjoy seasonal eating-out, the low groups do not. The coefficients of dynamic rolling regression are much smaller than those of static one, meaning that households tend to decrease the eating-out expenditure of their income. The impulse response analysis suggests that the eating-out expenditure increase of higher income groups lasts long relative to that of lower income groups. The variance decomposition, also, shows that household income plays much more important role in determining eating-out expenditure at the higher income groups than at the lower income groups.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7831
In order to understand how various support programs affect the development of traditional performing arts, I used descriptive statistics and multivariate statistics analysis on 267 surveys. I estimated relationship between item-whole by calculating mean and standard deviation. This will help us comprehend effects of the variables. Cronbach alpha coefficient, a measure of internal consistency, exceeded 0.7, indicating that reliability is satisfactory. I have established one main hypothesis and four sub-hypothesis to identify the relationship between support programs and the performing arts more clearly. The result supports that the support programs do have effects on the performing arts. However, there are not enough researches done on this subject, and additional researches are needed in order to systemize relevant theories and the development of performing arts industry.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7855~7862
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7855
Cadastral map information is created by registering parcel information such as location, lot number, land category and boundary through the cadastral survey. However, with regard to boundary point coordinate, computerized cadastral information data was registered to either two decimal places (unit in centimeter) or three decimal places (unit in millimeter) so that a confusion in cadastral administration and cadastral survey has been caused. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to look for a method of matching two different coordinate systems through the consideration of registration of cadastral information data and area calculation. In conclusion, the result of the investigation not only shows that areal change and the creation of minute polygons resulted from land alteration could be solved by changing boundary point coordinate from two decimal places to three decimal places, but also suggests that the related laws and regulations to register boundary point coordinate to three decimal places should be institutionally corrected and applied.

In the case of CWR (Continuous welded rail) located on the railway bridge, the CWR has additional axial force due to interaction of bridge and track. Therefore, the CWR tracks located on the bridge have to secure the safety of running train and CWR track through mitigating influence for interaction of bridge and track. The railway design guide in Korea (KR C-08080) provides a certain value for property of longitudinal friction behavior of rail fastening system that is major parameter of interaction behavior by applying European codes. However, in order to apply to domestic railway, it is necessary to review property characteristics of the rail fastening system in actual use. In this paper, the experiment for longitudinal friction behavior of rail fastener applied to concrete track on the railway bridge in Korea was carried out, and statistical characteristic for property of the rail fastener was analyzed from the result of the experiment.

The raise of the acceleration can be one of possible methods to increase the scheduled speed of the metropolitan railway system. It is possible to raise the acceleration to the some point by increasing the traction power of the motor. However, there is a limit of the acceleration because the traction power over some level related to the adhesion causes a slip, which prevents from accomplishing the target acceleration. The running resistance is also an important factor to consider. Both the adhesion and the running resistance as well as the traction power vary according to the velocity. Therefore, the standardization of the acceleration needs the analysis of these factors as a function of velocity. In this study, we focus on the advanced urban transit unit(AUTS) for the standardization. We derive a novel equation of the adhesion suitable for the AUTS by investigation of the traction and adhesion equation as well as the experiment data. And finally we propose the standard of the acceleration based on this analysis.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7941~7948
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7941
Rolling noises during train operation are caused by vibration excited from irregularities of surface roughness between wheel and rail. Therefore, a proper measurement and analysis techniques of acoustic roughness between wheel and rail surface are required for transmission, prediction, and analysis of the train rolling noise. However, since current measuring devices and methods use trolley-based manual handling devices, the measurements induce unstable measuring speed and vibrational interface that increases errors and disturbances. In this paper, a new automatic rail surface exploring platform with a speed controller has been developed for improving measurement accuracy and reducing inconsistency of measurements. In addition, we propose a data integration method of the rail surface roughness with multiple homogeneous displacement sensors and verified the accuracy of the integrated data through standard test-bed railway track investigation.

This paper introduced the RAR(Reinforced Abutment for Railroads) to reduce settlement of transitional zone and horizontal displacement of abutment by constructing backfill before abutment. We expect that it has more economical and better performance which was validated by numerical analyses. First, transitional zone settlements and horizontal displacements of existing abutment were evaluated for various heights and ground conditions by using finite element analysis program. Then, numerical analyses of it under the same conditions were performed and its results were compared with existing abutment's ones. From the numerical analysis, we found that the responses(settlement and horizontal displacement) of transitional zone of the RAR is about 20% and 34% of one of existing abutment due to the effect of backfill stabilizing. We expected that the RAR having small foundations could be economic way to construct abutment with the control of responses such as, settlement, horizontal displacement, and earth pressure.

Prevalence and Management of Dyslipidemia Among Korean Adults: KNHANES 2010-2012
Jang, Sungok ; Lee, Jongseok ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 11, 2015, Pages 7978~7989
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.11.7978
Dyslipidemia is a major risk factor for cardio-cerebrovascular disease. Although the prevalence among Korean adults is very high, its management is known to be poor. The aim of this study was to access the prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control rates of dyslipidemia according to treatment guideline rather than diagnostic criteria. The risk factors for cardio-cerebrovascular disease were evaluated to apply the appropriate risk-based threshold of the lipid treatment targets according to risk category. Analysis was done using nationally representative data (n = 16,263) collected from adults aged 20 years and older participating the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANS) 2010-2012. The age-standardized prevalence rate of dyslipidemia according to treatment criteria was 34.1%. Of these prevalent cases, however, only 19.2% were aware; 9.5% treated; and 8.7% controlled. The age-standardized control rate among treated persons was 47.5%. Men had a significantly higher prevalence than women (39.7% vs. 28.8%), but a significantly lower rate of awareness, treatment, and control (16.0% vs. 22.3%, 7.7% vs. 11.3%, and 6.1% vs. 11.2%, respectively). As the higher risk category, the prevalence rate was higher but the control rate was lower. The prevalence of patients with diabetes was 82.5% when applying the treatment criteria (LDL-cholesterol level of
and triglyceride level of
). However, only 11.9 % of these were controlled, whose LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides were lower than the treatment goals. Our findings suggest that effective strategies are required to decrease the gap between the prevalence of dyslipidemia and the following treatment. It would be worthwhile to strengthen the follow-up management of patients with dyslipidemia in the National Health Screening Program, especially in the high risk group of cardio-cerebrovascular disease.

Plant factories are plant cultivation systems which produce farm products uniformly under the controlled environmental condition regardless of seasons and places. Thermal flow in the plant factory is an important parameter in cultivating plants. In this research, we study thermal flow characteristics for a hybrid plant factory with multi-layer cultivation shelves using computer simulation techniques. In order to obtain numerical solutions for thermal flow characteristics, a finite volume method was applied. We consider a low-Reynolds-number
turbulence model, incompressible viscous flows, and pressure boundary conditions for numerical simulation. Commercial software Solid Works Flow Simulation is then used to investigate characteristics of thermal flows in the plant factory applying several different inflow air velocities and arrangements of cultivation shelves. From numerical analysis results, we found that temperatures in cultivation shelves were uniformly distributed for Case 3 when the inflow air velocity was 1.6 m/s by using a blower in the plant factory. However in Case 1 lower temperature distributions were observed in test beds, TB2 and TB3, which indicated that additional temperature control efforts would be required. Average shelf temperature increased by
using artificial light source (DYLED47) with 50% blue and 50% red LED ratios. Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society.

One of the efficient procedures for the solution of partial differential equations is the method of differential quadrature. This method has been applied to a large number of cases to circumvent the difficulties of the complex algorithms of programming for the computer, as well as excessive use of storage due to conditions of complex geometry and loading. In-plane vibrations of curved beams with inextensibility and extensibility of the arch axis are analyzed by the differential quadrature method (DQM). Fundamental frequencies are calculated for the member with various end conditions and opening angles. The results are compared with exact experimental and numerical results by other methods for cases in which they are available. The DQM gives good accuracy even when only a limited number of grid points is used, and new results according to diverse variation are also suggested.

The purpose of this research is to understand influence of personal turnover factors and work turnover factors on job satisfaction in career decision-making and to analyze the moderating effects of supervisor support in their relations. Meaningful difference between one group with high supervisor support and other group with low supervisor support is demonstrated in regard with a course; job burnout
job satisfaction, and work overload
job satisfaction. Hence from a perspective of the course of job burnout
job satisfaction and work overload
job satisfaction, it can be argued that a group with low supervisor support yields more influence. Also it is shown that conflicts on balancing between job and family do not have influence on job satisfaction for either group with high supervisor support or with low supervisor support. As the result of the research shows, it bears a quite significant meaning that career development/lack of opportunity out of personal turnover intentions disclose difference between these two groups with different levels of supervisor support. Especially, a group of flight attendants which females are consisted of a majority of employees would require that their supervisors have more emotional interactions with each employee, so as that better opportunity would be given to the employees. To this end, utmost efforts are needed that deep and genuine relations with a supervisor can be built up.
