Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5039~5044
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5039
In this study, we evaluated corrosion behavior of a common rolling stock axle material, RSA1, in seawater. 3-electrode electrochemical cell experiment was conducted using artificial sea water, fabricated according to ASTM-D1141 set by American Society for Testing and Materials, where the corrosion current density and corrosion rate were determined to be
and 0.217 mm/yr, respectively, by employing potentiodynamic test method and impedance spectroscopy method. Considering the fact that life time of railway car is ~25 years, the expected corrosion layer depth is 5mm. Constant-current corrosion test was conducted to accelerate the corrosion process, to reach corrosion periods of 1,3 and 4 years based on Faraday's law, followed by tension tests where the reduced specimen gauge cross-section was re-measured for stress calculation. While no apparent corrosion-related changes in mechanical properties were observed in the elastic regime, the reduction in ductility of the material was found to be increased as the corrosion period increased. The results of this study are expected to be basic corrosion data for the design of rolling stock axles, which will be operated in the sea water environment.

As modern houses are constructed with high-density and high-insulation, there is benefit to reduce energy consumption, but there are many side effects raised from polluted air. To solve the problem, a ventilation system is used to improve a indoor air quality. In this study, we tested the parallel flow type heat exchanger used in a heat exchanger of an automotive air conditioner. And we experimentally estimate ventilation performance of HRV(heat recovery ventilator) with heat-pipe according to working fluid filling quantity and ventilation. The working fluid was R22, which was filled from 40 to 60 (%vol.) by 10(%vol.). Ventilation based on the front velocity was measured from 0.3 m/s to 1.5 m/s by 0.3 m/s intervals. Refrigerant filling quantity with the highest efficiency was found to depend on the ventilation. From this study the optimal refrigerant filling quantity in accordance with the ventilation of the detachable heat pipes was found experimentally.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5051~5059
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5051
Structural behaviour of the front loader for an agricultural tractor was analyzed for three impact test conditions: drop and catch, corner pull, and corner push. Rigid-body dynamic, transient structural, and static structural analyses were conducted using a commercial finite element software. Analysis of the drop and catch test dealt with the case that the bucket located at the maximum elevation was dropped and catched through three steps. Analysis of the corner pull test dealt with the case that the bucket constrained to the ground by a chain at its corner was raised suddenly. Analysis of the corner push test dealt with the case that the corner of the bucket collided with an obstacle. Results of analyses of the three test conditions showed that maximum stress occurs at the geometrically discontinuous location in the mount and is caused from local stress concentration. Results of the present research can be utilized as a guideline to achieve more reliable and safe structural design of the front loaders.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5060~5066
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5060
The number of shop needed for the fabrication of sphere type LNG tank is proportional to that of the tank radius to be constructed. Due to limitation of facility investment including building sites, it is practically difficult to fabricate various size tanks of perfectly spherical shape in the yards. The efficient method to increase cargo tank capacity is to extend vertically the conventional sphere type LNG tank by inserting a cylindrical shell structure. In this study, equations for static design loads are developed for sphere type LNG tank with central extension. The results of this study will be combined with dynamic design loads to build the simplified analysis method which enable the precise initial estimate instead of time consuming finite element analysis.

To develop weapon system, Concurrent Spare Parts(CSP) is one of the important somethings in terms of Intergrated Logistics System(ILS). CSP is very important to improve the availability of weapon system, and various research about CSP are performed. However, most of the research does not consider the effects between sub-item's failure and weapon system's multiple function. In other words, if sub-item's failure does not seriously influence weapon system's specific function, the point, not necessarily to replace sub-item, is not considered. Therefore, the method to calculate CSP based on above consideration is written by failure-function matrix in this paper. The study follows the procedure below. First, it's to define the operation and maintenance procedure of weapon system. Second, failure-function matrix is developed. Third, simulation model is desinged by input data. Finally, The quantity of CSP is calculated by simulation and evolution strategy, meta-model. This study suggests new research direction to calculate CSP.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5267~5272
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5267
This paper analyzes the relationship between the industry bank loan concentration and its risk using the Korean bank loan data. We focused on the construction and real estate industry which are controversial on the non performing loans. We used the construction or leasing real estate industry bank loan ratio of the corporate bank loan as the bank loan concentration proxies. The bank risk are measured as the equity capital rate or the size of non performing loans. According to the results of this research, the preceding bank loan ration of the construction industry or the leasing real estate industry decreases the non performing loans and increases the equity capital rate. The bank loan concentration to the specific industry may not increase bank risk. The bank loan concentration may decrease the information asymmetry and improve the screening abilities the non performing loans. We suggest that the bank loan concentration on the construction or leasing real estate industry in the Korean economy may not directly connected to the bank risk.

Although demand for scar treatment has been rising as our quality of life is improved, most scar treatment products rely on importation. Enkephalin is one of the neuropeptides secreted from neuronal ends. As both skin and neuron are derived from the exoderm during the development process, skin cells express opioid receptors as neuronal cells do. Opioid receptors are categorized into three types, mu(m)-, delta(d)-, and kappa(k)- opioid receptors, all of which are directly involved in the wound healing process. In this study, enkephalin derivatives are synthesized by Alanin Scan and their efficacy was evaluated and compared. In vitro wound healing effects, stimulatory effects of collagen synthesis, and skin hydration effects were also evaluated and confirmed. Among Enkephalin derivatives, AS13 showed highest wound healing effect.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5351~5363
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5351
In literature, empirical studies investigating how stress affects HRQOL (health related quality of life) through physical activities are insufficient. In this sense, on the basis of KNHANES dataset for 2008 ~ 2013, we conducted an empirical study. Empirical results revealed that in the male group with stress experience, HRQOL was significantly influenced by age, household income, education, occupation, physical activity level. To do so, we adapt the chi-square analysis and the logistic regression analysis. Meanwhile, in the stress non-experience group, the low level activity has lower HRQOL than the high level activity(male: OR=1.15 p<0.001, female: OR=1.18 p<0.001). In the stress experience group, the male has the same pattern of effect compared to the stress non-experience group(OR=1.79 p<0.01). However, in the female, the low level activity has the higher HRQOL than the high level activity(OR=1.18 p<0.05). Therefore, we confirmed that physical activity has a different effect on HRQOL through stress experience.

Conjugating a phytochemical, a strong antioxidant, with a functional peptide not only compensates for its stability, but also improves its solubility and anti-wrinkle effects, thereby contributing to the possibility of becoming an excellent cosmetic ingredient. Thus, in this study we examined the potential cosmetic use of a phytochemical-peptide derivative using gallic acid, a phytochemical with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer effects. To evaluate the antioxidant and wrinkle-improving efficacy of 5 synthesized gallic acids conjugated with LVH, IVH, KTTKS, YGGFM, and YGGFLRKYP respectively, we observed the expression of genes related to wrinkle improvement using DPPH radical scavenging activity and real-time PCR. As a result, all 5 derivatives had excellent free radical scavenging effects. The expression level of genes involved collagen synthesis also increased, and the secreted peptides during collagen production contributed to their antioxidant and wrinkle improving effects. These results mark the potential use of gallic acid peptide derivatives as a cosmetic ingredient for anti-oxidation and wrinkle improvement.

Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is a major modifiable risk factor for cardio- cerebrovascular disease. In clinical practice, however, it is primarily calculated using the Friedewald formula as a cost-effective method. The aim of this study was to compare Friedewald-estimated and directly measured LDL-C values and assess the concordance in guideline LDL-C risk classification between the two methods. The data were derived from the 2009 and 2010 Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey (KNHANES). Analysis was done for 4,319 subjects with lipid panels-total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), directly measured LDL-C using an enzymatic homogeneous assay, and triglycerides (TG). For subjects with TG lower than 400 mg/dL, Friedewald-estimated and directly measured LDL-C were highly correlated (r = 0.958, p < 0.001) and overall concordance was 82.7%. As TG increased, overall concordance decreased. Overall concordance was 85.4% at TG lower than 150 mg/dL; 78.2% at TG of 150-199 mg/dL; and 71.4% at TG of 200-399 mg/dL. The Friedewld equation tended to overestimate LDL-C when TG are of < 150 mg/dL; however, underestimate LDL-C when TG are of
. As a result, Friedewald estimation misclassified 382 subjects (9.1%) in a higher category versus 348 subjects (8.3%) in a lower category. Our findings suggest that overestimation of LDL-C by the Friedewald formula can be a great problem as well as underestimation.

This In the railway signaling system, applications of axle counter in addition to track circuit goes on increasing for detecting train position. Consequently, this paper compares sensor methods of axle counter with between geo-magnetism method and proximity sensor method. And it presents differences and results, to improve reliabilities of train detection and axle counting. Also, this article presents an applied result which is based on field experience, with regard to installation, considering attachment condition of sensor part for accurate axle counting. This study acquires expandability that is able to perform not only axle counting function but also various other functions (direction detection of train, speed detection of train, and so on). It was a result of a change of design in order to judge phase difference of sensors, to improve reliability of axle counting. Furthermore, it does not subordinate to characteristics (type, weight of train). And it is confirmed that the omission of axle counting was not occurred in 350km/h. This was the result of Lab test after the construction of transfer equipment of trial axle and Test Bed for axle counting. Both of them are self-productions. Through this, it prepares foundation which is able to apply not only to train detection but also to speed of passing trains, formation number of trains, detector locking condition - when the train passes the section of switch point, and level crossing devices. Furthermore, it would be judged to contribute safety train operation if proximity sensor method applies to the whole railway signaling system from now on.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5541~5549
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5541
This paper introduces a safer and more power efficient heater by using induction heating, to apply to the semiconductor wafer fabrication exhaust gas cleaning system. The exhaust gas cleaning system is currently made with filament heater that generates an endothermic reaction of N2 gas for the removal of moisture. Induction theory, through the bases of theoretical optimization and electronic implementation, is applied in the design of the induction heater specifically for the semiconductor wafer exhaust system. The new induction heating design provides a solution to the issues with the current energy inefficient, unreliable, and unsafe design. A robust and calibrated design of the induction heater is used to optimize the energy consumption. Optimization is based on the calibrated ZVS induction circuit design specified by the resonant frequency of the exhaust pipe. The fail-safe energy limiter embedded in the system uses a voltage regulator through the feedback of the MOSFET control, which allows the system performance to operate within the specification of the N2 Heater unit. A specification and performance comparison from current conventional filament heater is made with the calibrated induction heater design for numerical analysis and the proof of a better design.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5565
Implicit citation sentence recognition is to locate citation sentences which lacks explicit citation markers, from articles' full-text. State-of-the-art approaches exploit word ngrams, clue words, researcher's surnames, mentions of previous methods, and distance relative to nearest explicit citation sentences, etc., reaching over 50% performance. However, most previous works have been conducted on English. As for Korean, a rule-based method using positive/negative clue patterns was reported to attain the performance of 42%, requiring further improvement. This study attempted to learn to recognize implicit citation sentences from Korean literatures' full-text using Korean lexical features. Different lexical feature units such as Eojeol, morpheme, and Eumjeol were evaluated to determine proper lexical features for Korean implicit citation sentence recognition. In addition, lexical features were combined with the position features representing backward/forward proximities to explicit citation sentences, improving the performance up to over 50%.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5579~5585
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5579
In FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) implementation, DIT(Decimation-In-Time) and DIF (Decimation-In-Frequency) methods are mostly used. Among them, various DIF structures such as Radix-2/4/8 algorithm have been developed. Compared to the DIF, the DIT structures have not been investigated even though they have a big advantage producing a sequential output. In this paper, a butterfly structure for DIT Radix-8 algorithm is proposed. The proposed structure has smaller latency time because of Radix-8 algorithm in addition to the advantage of the sequential output. In case of 4096-point FFT implementation, the proposed structure has only 4 stages which shows the smaller latency time compared to the 12 stages of Radix-2 algorithm. The proposed butterfly can be used in FFT block required the sequential output and smaller latency time.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5636~5645
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5636
Physical characteristics of aggregates affect the workability and strength of mortar and concrete, which include their fineness ratio, particle size distribution and water absorption. The workability of construction materials decreases if the incorporated fine aggregates show improper size distribution of their particles. This study shows the particle size effect on the rheological behavior of mortar and provides basic information for evaluating its workability. A mini-slump flow test was adopted to evaluate the workability of mortar. In addition, its plastic viscosity and yield stress were measured using a rheometer for building materials. The sand samples were prepared by sieving river sand and sorting out with their particle sizes. As a result, it was observed that the fines less than 0.7 mm increases the yield stress and plastic viscosity of the mortar samples. If the fines are less than 0.34 mm, the water absorption of the fines dominates change on the workability.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 16, issue 8, 2015, Pages 5654~5663
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2015.16.8.5654
In the unsaturated soil, suction, the negative pore water pressure leads to increases of the yield stress and the plastic shear stiffness of the soil skeleton due to the growth in interparticle stress. Therefore, in this study, the stress-strain relationship based on cyclic elasto-plastic constitutive model extended for unsaturated soil considering the 1st and the 2nd yield functions was induced in order to account for these effects of suction under the dynamic loading condition such as the earthquake. Through the program code considering this relationship and the routine of the cyclic loading with the reversion of loading direction, the numerical simulation of the cyclic triaxial test under the unsaturated condition would be possible. It is expected that the results of this study possibly contribute to the accuracy improvement on the prediction of unsaturated soil behavior under the dynamic loading condition.

In architecture, Sensibility is the most basic thing in the environmental cognition. Emotion is the phychological or cognitive phenomenon of sensory changes. A cross-causal relationship is formed between the two, and they have a consensus in contact with humans and environment. Sensibility ever to serve as bundle and cognize as mutual superposition. Humans unconsciously perceive through the synesthesia that integrated all the senses. In this study, it has been identified as a result of the study, the architectural design through the sense must be design to the multisensory experience of the emotional design. Depending on the times change, it can know that the gradual changes based on the anthropocentric sense and sensibility. Emotional design in architecture shall ensure that a variety of experience through the multisensory. In this emotional design, multisensory design (or various sensory function) -visual & tactory or visual & auditory etc.- is required beyond the limitation of conventional visual concenturated. Therefore, In order to achieve the demands of the modern social objectives of sympathy or empathy for the human-centered design sensibility, the visual perception as well as a variety of sensory must be recognized that a combination of cognitive and functional. And the application of multisensory design is required to aim the synesthesia cognition.

Recently, construction industry has won an increasing number of orders for overseas construction projects, thereby achieving an external growth, but its competiveness is concentrated on the construction execution field. In particular, the plant field occupies most of the entire orders, which are concentrated regionally in the Middle East and Asia. In addition, low-cost orders are frequently caused by excessive competition. But its high value-added construction engineering(Below, CE) field's overseas market share and technological capacity are very low. Also, technological competiveness, in terms of order amount and other factors, is deepening in polarization between large CE companies and small and medium-sized CE firms. It is noted that the existing CE information systems mostly simply accumulate data such as design and specification standards and provide the information thereon to users, and thus have yet to provide the information essential for the CE and support such efforts. This study sought to prepare a system designed for sharing outstanding design documents information necessary for the CE industry, by category of construction so as to support the technological enhancement of the CE field. Toward that end, this study presented measures for constructing the system and services designed to exchange and share the outstanding design documents information and know-how by construction category necessary between ordering agencies and CE companies.

This study has analyzed the backwater effect by the bridge pier on the basis of the result on hydraulic characteristics with pier shapes in study(I), using a two-dimensional model(RMA-2) and an one-dimensional model(HEC-RAS). The pier shapes are classified into total six types such as square, rhombus, octagon, oval, round, and no-piers. The result of the backwater effect analysis showed that the backwater length is about 150 and 50m from HEC-RAS and RMA-2, respectively for all pier types. Although it is difficult to directly compare between results from the two models, the oval shape pier has shown similar results to the no-pier situation before the bridge construction in hydraulic characteristics. This analysis can help to select pier types in the new bridge construction for the future.

Paint must be resistant to the wear and tear of the atmosphere and should maintain its color and finish for a long time. The solvents of paints were organic solvent and water, common artificial source of VOCs(Volatile organic Solvent) include organic solvent. Using of organic solvent paint was decreased in the interior parts of automotive, exterior parts were still used organic solvent paint. Adhesive strength of water-paint was poor to compare with organic solvent paint and peeled off from the base materials, it was big quality problem. In this study, adhesive characteristics of water-paint and silane mixture was investigated. To improve adhesive strength of water-paint, it was necessary to mixing of adhesive material. Adhesive strength was measured using UTM(Universal Test Instrument) by ASTM D1002 and Peeling off condition was by ASTM D3359. Optimal mixing condition of water-paint and silane adhesive were
, 500rpm, 20min., concentration of silane adhesive was 5 wt%.

This study attempts to verify the applicability of ceramic membrane as a separator by comparing the power generation characteristics in single-chamber MFCs using ceramic membranes to those in the MFCs using nafion membrane. The generated power in MFCs by using acetate as a substrate was more stable than that by using formate, propionate and butyrate, respectively. It was shown that the generated power by using formate substrate in MFCs was unstable and a little higher than that by using acetate, and the power generated by using propionate and butyrate were lower than that by using acetate. In order to find out the Pt catalyst effect, it was compared the power generated in MFCs using Pt-coated carbon cloth as electrode to that power using normal carbon cloth. The power generated in MFCs using Pt-coated carbon cloth as electrode was 1.2 times higher than that using normal carbon cloth. The Pt-coated carbon cloth was about 5 times more expensive than normal carbon cloth. It is suggested that both power generation efficiency and cost together should be considered in selecting electrodes of MFCs. It was found that the ceramic membrane was superior to nafion membrane by comparing to the power generation characteristics obtained. It was shown that average voltage values were
by using synthetic wastewater, in MFCs of ceramic membrane as a separator. While average voltage values were
by using synthetic wastewater, in MFCs of nafion membrane as a separator. The organic removal efficiency, 41.7% by using ceramic membrane was a little bit higher than 40.8% by using nafion membrane. This research implies ceramic membrane can be a valid alternative to nafion membrane as a separator when considering the power generation and the efficiency of organics removal.
