A Study on Cost Optimization of Preventive Maintenance for the Second Driving Devices for Korea Train Express
Jung, Jin-Tae ; Kim, Chul-Su ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 1~7
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.1
Although the second driving device of KTX, which consists of the wheel and the axle reduction gears unit, is a mechanically integrated structure, its preventive maintenance (PM) requires two separate intervals due to the different technical requirements. In particular, these subsystems perform attaching and detaching work simultaneously according to the maintenance directive. Therefore, to reduce the unnecessary amount of PM and high logistic availability of the train, it is important to optimize PM with regard to reliability-centered maintenance toward a cost-effective solution. In this study, fault tree analysis and reliability of the subsystems, considering the criticality of the components, were performed using the data derived from field data in maintenance. The cost optimization of the PM was derived from a genetic algorithm considering the target reliability and improvement factor. The cost optimization was derived from a maximum of the fitness function of the individual in generation. The optimal TBO of them using the genetic algorithm was 2.85x106 km, which is reduced to approximately 21% compared to the conventional method.
A scheme of Docker-based Version Control for Open Source Project
Lee, Yong-Jeon ; Rim, Seong-Rak ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 8~14
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.8
When Open Source Projects are processed by multiple developers, the Version Control Systems, which control the different versions of the same file being used, is a very useful tool. On the other hand, because most of conventional VCS(SVN, Git, etc.) mainly control the history of the modifications of the source codes or documents, there is an inconvenience that each developer should modify the development environment whenever the development environment is modified. To overcome this inconvenience, this paper suggests a scheme of VC for OSP. The basic concept of the suggested scheme is that an image, including the development environment and controls, is created as a new version using the Docker, virtualization tool of the container method. To review the functional appropriateness of the suggested scheme, after establishing the Docker on the hosts that use the different OS( Ubuntu12.0.4, CentOS7), this study tested a VC that could control the different versions including the history of modifications of the development environment and evaluated them by a comparison with the conventional VCS. The results show that the suggested scheme is a convenient scheme of VC for the OSP.

Choi, Yong-Sung ; Kim, Byoung-Il ; Moon, In-Jong ; Heo, Jun ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 15~20
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.15
The grouting method, which can be used to effectively improve small areas within a short amount of time, may have different injection effects depending on the ground conditions and the levels of a water table. In particular, for ground with a relatively large permeability, the strength of the ground and the water proof ability can decrease over time due to the leaching process. To solve this problem, a "self-healing smart grouting (SSG) method", which was designed to maintain the initial strength of the ground by minimizing the leaching process, was developed recently. In this study, uniaxial compression tests were carried out on SSG samples to understand the strength of SSG over curing time where two different curing temperatures have been applied for comparison. The uniaxial compression strength of SSG was further compared with the samples prepared using conventional methods (LW and SGR). The test results showed that the uniaxial compression strength of SSG was higher at both high and low curing temperatures compared to that of the samples prepared using conventional methods. The initial strength of SSG was also relatively higher.

Lee, Kyoo-Il ; An, Sung-Joon ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 27~36
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.27
Houses have usually been planned for those who are in good physical condition rather than with disabilities. Therefore, it is difficult to provide a high quality residential environment for people with disabilities. To live in their own houses continuously, it is essential to renovate their houses where they have been living. This study focuses on removing the barrier factors from houses by analyzing the characteristics of disability types and purpose of each space. Therefore, this study divides a house into 5 sectors: an accessible path; an entrance hall; a corridor; a living room; and a bedroom to remove the barrier factors from each sector according to the analysis above. As a result, the sectors that show high frequency and importance of renovation should be considered as a top priority for renovation.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 58~65
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.58
This study was a preparatory experiment aimed the development of membrane scaffolds for tissue engineering. A PCL composite solution contained sodium chloride(NaCl). PCL porous membrane scaffolds were formed on a glass casting plate using a film applicator and immersed in distilled water to remove the NaCl reaching after drying. NaCl was used as a pore former for a 3 dimensional pore net-work. The dry condition parameters were
, room temperature (RT) and
for each different temperatures in the drying experiment. SEM revealed the morphology of the pores in the membrane after drying and evaluated the in vitro cytotoxicity for basic bio-compatibility. The macro and micro pores existed together in the scaffold and showed a 3-dimensional pore net-working morphology at RT. The in vitro cytotoxicity test result was "grade 2" in accordance with the criterion for cytotoxicity by ISO 10993-5. The dry condition affected the formation of a 3 dimensional pore network and micro and macro pores. Therefore, these results are expected provide the basic process for the development of porous membrane scaffolds to control degradation and allow drug delivery.

Forecasting Hourly Demand of City Gas in Korea
Han, Jung-Hee ; Lee, Geun-Cheol ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 87~95
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.87
This study examined the characteristics of the hourly demand of city gas in Korea and proposed multiple regression models to obtain precise estimates of the hourly demand of city gas. Forecasting the hourly demand of city gas with accuracy is essential in terms of safety and cost. If underestimated, the pipeline pressure needs to be increased sharply to meet the demand, when safety matters. In the opposite case, unnecessary inventory and operation costs are incurred. Data analysis showed that the hourly demand of city gas has a very high autocorrelation and that the 24-hour demand pattern of a day follows the previous 24-hour demand pattern of the same day. That is, there is a weekly cycle pattern. In addition, some conditions that temperature affects the hourly demand level were found. That is, the absolute value of the correlation coefficient between the hourly demand and temperature is about 0.853 on average, while the absolute value of the correlation coefficient on a specific day improves to 0.861 at worst and 0.965 at best. Based on this analysis, this paper proposes a multiple regression model incorporating the hourly demand ahead of 24 hours and the hourly demand ahead of 168 hours, and another multiple regression model with temperature as an additional independent variable. To show the performance of the proposed models, computational experiments were carried out using real data of the domestic city gas demand from 2009 to 2013. The test results showed that the first regression model exhibits a forecasting accuracy of MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) around 4.5% over the past five years from 2009 to 2013, while the second regression model exhibits 5.13% of MAPE for the same period.

Park, Jeong-Min ; Yong, Hye-Ryeon ; Hwang, Hyun-Seok ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 112~122
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.112
In line with the increase in consumer demand for mobile games, game companies face stiff competition. For a more successful marketing strategy, many game companies actively adopt Cross Promotion. The Cross Promotion marketing strategy in the mobile game is regarded as a low cost and high efficiency marketing method because the game companies provide new experiences to game users by utilizing existing game infrastructure and absorbing current users of game companies. Despite the advantages of Cross Promotion, there has been little practical study on the relationship between Cross Promotion and mobile game acceptance. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to determine the influential factors of Cross Promotion on the acceptance of mobile games. After reviewing previous research, a structural model was established, a survey was performed and the model was analyzed. The managerial implications are suggested along with the concluding remarks.

Ku, In-Young ; Moon, Seon-Jeong ; Ka, Kyung-Hwan ; Park, Min-Kyoung ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 123~128
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.123
The study was conducted to confirm the analgesic effects of the Carbenoxolone(CBX)and P2X receptor antagonist(iso-PPADS), which separates the gap junction in the facial neuropathic pain model. The experiment used white male Sprague-Dawley rats (240~280g). The second left molars on the lower jaw was extracted to induce facial neuropathic pain, and small dental implants were implanted to induce damage to the inferior alveolar nerve. When CBX was injected twice daily to the abdominal cavity, a significant analgesic effect at 5ug/kg was observed(p<0.05). In addition, when iso-PPADS was injected twice daily into the abdominal cavity, a significant analgesic reaction was observed at
(p<0.05). When the two drugs were injected together at a low concentration, in which they did not display an effect, they displayed a significant analgesic reaction at CBX 1ug/kg and iso-PPADS 2.5ug/kg(p<0.05). When a gap injunction block using a low concentration of CBX and a low concentration P2X receptor antagonist was injected together, the pain suppressing effect was observed against the orofacial neuropathic pain mechanism. These results make it possible to determine that the gap junction block using CBX and the injection of the P2X receptor antagonist plays an important role in the pain management of the facial region.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 137~146
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.137
An increase in EGR rate can reduce NOx emissions. On the other hand, an excessive EGR rate is a major cause of incomplete combustion. Precise position control of the EGR valve that is optimized for the operating conditions of the engine should be supported to meet the strict emission regulations. Accordingly, this study performed mathematical modeling and control theory for characteristic analysis of an EGR valve motor. Because it is a step for controlling the position of the EGR valve motor using the Microchip development tool, this study analyzed the characteristics of the motor for each opening and closing section according to the input value of the duty ratio of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation).

The characteristics of fluidization in a centrifugal fluidized bed with a 184 mm inner diameter, 50 mm width of the gas distributor was observed by photographs and experimental works using Cu-ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts with a mean diameter of
as bed materials at a rotor at 400rpm and 600rpm. Under these experimental ranges, the experimental results clearly showed the effects of the number of rotation of the rotor on the behavior of bubbles in the centrifugal fluidized bed. As the number of rotations of the rotor increased, the gas velocity at which bubbles begin to be formed also increased but the diameter of the bubbles decreased. In addition, the size of the bubbles in the centrifugal fluidized bed were relatively smaller than those in the conventional bubbling fluidized bed.

Because MS(Multi-Strand) cables consist of many strands, a jacking force is applied to each strand one by one for cable construction. All strands should have an equal tensile force when the last one is wedged. This is the core technology for MS iso-tensioning. In this study, a new MS cable iso-tensioning system was developed for controlling and jacking the high-strength strands, with an ultimate tensile strength of 2,200MPa, for a stay cable of extra-dosed/cable-stayed bridges. The newly developed iso-tensioning system consists of electrical resistance load cells, hydraulic jacking devices, hydraulic pumps, and integrated controllers. Moreover, it is embedded with an algorithm that can control and predict the variations in tensile forces of the Master and Slave strands in real time. Actual experiments were carried out to verify the function and performance of the newly developed system. This system was applied successfully to the stay cable construction of 2nd Tae-in extra-dosed bridge in Gwangyang.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.227
3D body scan data are used widely in various fields to make products and living spaces for superior human body fitness. Based on the 3D measurements of human bodies for teens in Size Korea 2013, this research provides a way of finding the representative body sizes and 3D body scan data. First, a multi-dimensional vector space consisting of many measurement items was projected onto a 2D vector space with circumference and length components via factor analysis. The representative body sizes and 3D scan data close to these values were obtained via the Mahalanobis distance in 2D space. Considering the adolescent growth pattern shown on this 2D space, males were divided into 4 age groups and females were divided into 3 age groups. Using the eigenbodies corresponding to the column vectors of the component score coefficient matrix, the representative body sizes of 13 measurement items (male) and 14 measurement items (female) for each age group were calculated. The representative body sizes and 3D scan data are very useful for modeling representative 3D human figures.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 246~251
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.246
The use of security lighting that emits spill light is considered a cause of light trespass problems in the residential areas. Therefore, a cutoff panel was installed as an alternative way to reduce light trespass. On the other hand, it has another problem in that it is less effective and is not good enough for aesthetics and safety. In this study, a light cutoff panel was designed and manufactured to reduce the light trespass, and the structure of a proper light cutoff panel was studied. Using a goniophotometer, the light distribution file (IES file) was extracted and the characteristics of light distribution were analyzed using the RELUX program. The results showed that the reduction of spilt light in the backward direction was decreased significantly for all types of light cutoff panels except the coated globe. In the case of a black powder coated light cutoff panel, the forward light caused by light reflected from the surface of the light cutoff panel was also reduced, which means that the black powder coated light cutoff panel is effective in the performance of light cutoff in the forward and backward directions. In addition, the coated glove increased the spilt light in the forward and backward directions because it reflects the upward light to go down. A 90 % accuracy between the measurement value of light trespass and the expected value of the light trespass was obtained from a simulation.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 252~258
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.252
Risk identification based on the government quality assurance activity for military goods is being conducted to determine the risks to be reflected in a government quality assurance plan. On the other hand, current risk evaluation method focuses mainly on the functional requirements of the product specifications, which is a lack of reflection and identification of risks considering the process and the method is determined from a personal opinion, for example experience and know-how, which results in a lack of objectivity. Therefore, a standard of judgment according to quantitative data, which includes the present process control data using the FMEA method is required to improve the objectivity and dependability. This paper proposes useful suggestions for a government quality planning method to apply the results of FMEA to hand grenades.

DEA is a typical method that allows measurements and evaluations of the efficiency. This study examined the management efficiency of bean farm households to suggest factors that influence the management efficiency. The results showed that a larger cultivation area has more positive effects on the scale efficiency of beans farm households. When summing up farmer's family labor, lease fee, hired labor cost, which are strongly related to the workforce, it reached up to 54.6%. This means that they all occupy more than half of the production cost and they show an increasing trend. Moreover, although the hired labor rate is higher, it has more positive influences on the gross efficiency, technical efficiency and scale efficiency. In addition, the results showed that environmentally-friendly agriculture decreases the efficiency.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 272~281
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.272
The effective exploitation of resources is critical for startup firms with insufficient resources to compete with well-resourced large firms. The direction and consistency of the resource input should be retained to utilize resources effectively, which will lead to a necessity for a fit between the strength in resources and the strategy of a firm. This study suggests hypotheses and verifies them empirically based on the logic that the attribute of resources in which a firm with a core competence decides the type of strategy and the formulated strategy presents the direction of the resource input, which enables the effective utilization of resources and facilitates high performance. According to the statistical results, the R&D capability affects the innovative differentiation strategy, marketing capability affects marketing differentiation strategy, and financial and production capability affects low cost strategy, in which the efficacy of the strategy depends on the attribute of resources. In addition, the R&D capability and marketing capability adversely affect the low cost strategy and the production capability negatively affects the innovative differentiation strategy, which implies that the exclusive choice of a strategy by the strength in resources results in improved performance. These results show that the fit between the resource and strategy is an essential cause of high performance in venture businesses.

Lee, Jae-Woo ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 299~306
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.299
In this paper, a method of shape prediction of an endoscope handling robot that can imitate a surgeon's behavior using a sensor network is suggested. Unit sensors, which are composed of a 3-axis magnetometer and 3-axis accelerometer pair comprise the network through CAN bus communication. Each unit of the sensor is used to detect the angle of the points in the longitudinal direction of the robot, which is made from a flexible tube. The signals received from the sensor network were filtered using a low pass Butterworth filter. Here, a Butterworth filter was designed for noise removal. Finally, the Euler angles were extracted from the signals, in which the noise was filtered by the low path Butterworth filter. Using this Euler angle, the position of each sensor on the sensor network is estimated. The robot body was assumed to consist of links and joints. The position of each sensor can be assumed to be attached to the center of each link. The position of each link was determined using the Euler angle and kinematics equation. The interpolation was carried out between the positions of the sensors to be able to connect each point smoothly and obtain the final posture of the endoscope in operation. The experimental results showed that the shape of the colonoscope can be visualized using the Euler angles evaluated from the sensor network suggested and the shape of serial link estimated from the kinematics chain model.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.307
This study empirically validate the impacts of WOM information characteristics on the WOM effect in accordance with SNS media due to the increased the WOM role under SNS. The key results showed that the more vivid, negative, and objective WOM information was, the more positive impacts on the intention to adopt information. In addition, the intention to adopt information had a positive impact on the re-WOM intention. Second, there was no significant difference between Facebook and Blog groups regarding the impacts of the WOM information characteristics on the WOM effect. This can be inferred from the fact that consumers recognize all SNS media as a single online medium regardless of their characteristics in the process of accepting and spreading information. Based on these results, this research drew the following implications. It conceptualized the information characteristics factors that influence the online information acceptance process and the relationship with WOM effects by focusing on SNS and high-tech products that are rapidly emerging. This study is also significant because it attempted to expand the characteristics of WOM information and WOM effects to Facebook and blogs, which are SNS media, and proposed a future research direction.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 315~324
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.315
The purpose of this study was to present the future directions for strengthening the TLO(Technology licensing office)s' expertise of universities by examining the impact on utilizing the university management experts for patents and technology transfer. To identify the specific effects of dispatching patent management experts, this study was conducted under various conditions, such as the dispatch status, the dispatching duration of patent management experts and the starting year of dispatching them. The data were analyzed by utilizing the data of the KIPSI's supporting program of dispatching the patent management expert to universities and the data of University Information Disclosure site. The data from a total of 110 four-year universities from 2008 to 2013 were used. According to the analysis result, the technology transfer's performance and technology transfer's income of universities of utilizing the patent management experts compared to universities not utilizing them appeared to be high. Technology transfer and technology transfer income appeared to be higher with a longer period of utilizing the patent management expert at university. This suggests that the direction is required to provide the plan for a longer period to maximize the effect of the program "The dispatching a patent management expert". The technology transfer's performance and technology transfer's income did not increase according to the year of dispatched the patent management expert at the university. A comparison of before and after dispatching, the technology transfer performance appeared to be high after dispatch. This suggests that the effects of dispatching the patent management experts at a university can be interpreted as a subsequent effect, rather than an immediate effect. Therefore, it does not simply limit the effectiveness of the dispatch business in the short term, but it needs to activate the technology transfer organization, such as a patent management expert in the long term.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 325~333
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.325
This paper proposes controller design algorithms for a ceramic soldering iron temperature control system, and reports their effectiveness in a control experiment. Because the responses of the ceramic soldering iron temperature to the control input are non-linear and very slow, precise modeling and controller design is difficult. In this study, the temperature characteristics of a ceramic soldering iron are represented by TSK fuzzy models consisting of TSK fuzzy rules. In the fuzzy rules, the premise variable is the control input and the consequences are the transfer functions. The transfer functions in the fuzzy model were obtained from the step input responses. As the responses of the ceramic soldering iron temperature are very slow, it is difficult to obtain the complete step input responses. This paper proposes a genetic algorithm to obtain the transfer functions from an incomplete step input responses, and showed its effectiveness in examples. This paper also reports a fuzzy controller design method from the TSK fuzzy model and examples. The proposed methods were applied to the temperature control experiments of ceramic iron. The TSK fuzzy model consisted of 7 TSK fuzzy rules, and the consequences were PI controllers. The experimental results of the proposed fuzzy PI controller were superior to the linear controller and were as good as in previous studies using a fuzzy PID controller.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 378~385
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.378
The internal circuit of the bus-bar for an electrical switch board is a prime cause of electric shock and short circuit accidents due to the exposure of live parts. Electrical fires can also be caused by animals and foreign substances in the switchboard that connect the components with a difficult structure resulting in overheating due to an increase in contact resistance. Preventing these types of accidents is a prime concern in the manufacturing process, such as cutting and bending. In this study, the cutting bus bar of a switch board contained improved modules as a flame retardant that isolates a separate blocks to prevent such problems. This was implemented as a scalable and flexible means of reducing electrical switchboard hazards to offer a safe switch board bus-bar structure of a new connecter type

Most firms have great interest in their innovations, but they have no interest in the patterns of innovation. In particular, firms using the benchmarking method have a tendency to use the same method, which is very dangerous for management. Analyzing the innovation pattern is more important than to benchmark the leading company, because of the differences in the situation of all companies, such as an environment, competition, market, etc. This paper used the Grew & Scott's model, in which each firm has a different innovation pattern for valuable management performance. This study focused on service companies in logistics and aimed to contribute to the logistics industry

The special education setting in nursing practicum is required for male nursing students to become professional registered nurses. Therefore, this study identifies how male nursing students find and recognize the meaning of the practicum in a delivery room. Eight male nursing students were selected randomly in junior and senior grade. They had finished delivery room practicum within a month and were interviewed from Jul. 20th, 2012 to Dec. 28th, 2012 until the narrative data were fully saturated. The phenomenological method of Colaizzi was used. Thirty themes, nine theme clusters, and three categories were identified. The three categories were frightened in the 'female privacy first' environment, sexual inequality for male students, and only one observation chance of the delivery process. From this study, male students did their best against the gender role and female-only field. A strategy to improve the image of professional nursing is required to enlighten the social conventions regarding the gender role. In addition, multilateral efforts are expected to eliminate the gender discrimination in the nursing education system to establish the correct role of professional registered nurses.

Jeong, Hwa-Jin ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 528~535
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.528
Two types of oleophilic acrylic prepolymers were prepared by the solution copolymerization of either ethyl acrylate (EA) or lauryl acrylate (LA) with hydroxy ethyl acrylate (HEA). For the formation of oil-absorbent materials, a mixed solution of the prepolymer and hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) as a cross-linker in toluene was applied to polypropylene knit velvet fabric through the conventional pad-dry-cure procedure. The gel fraction of the crosslinked resin, EA-HEA-HDI, increased with increasing feed ratio of HEA to total acrylate or HDI concentration. The oil absorbancy and retention ratio of the prepared materials were compared according to the add-on ratio of resin to fabric, and were assessed with n-decane, toluene, soybean oil, lubricant and bunker C oil as test oils. The optimal oil absorbancy of the materials were observed at around 6% of the add-on ratio for all these oils except for soybean oil. On the other hand, the oil retention ratio increased as the add-on ratio increased. Futhermore, heavier and more viscous oil generally showed higher oil retention ratios. In addition, the oil absorbancy of the materials treated with LA-HEA-HDI resin was higher than that treated with EA-HEA-HDI resin, which showed that the acrylic resins are more absorptive with increasing length of their side alkyl chain.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 536~544
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.536
Recently, with the increase in the number of high rise and huge scaled buildings, ultra-high strength concrete with 80~100 MPa has been used increasingly to withstand excessive loads. Among the components of concrete, the effects of the kinds and properties of fine aggregates on the performance and economic advantages of ultra-high strength concrete need to be evaluated carefully. Therefore, this study examined the effects of the type of fine aggregates and mixing methods on the engineering properties of ultra-high strength concrete by varying the fine aggregates including limestone fine aggregate (LFA), electrical arc slag fine aggregate (EFA), washed sea sand (SFA), and granite fine aggregate (GFA) and their mixtures. Ultra-high strength concrete was fabricated with a 20 % water to binder ratio (W/B) and incorporated with 70 % of Ordinary Portland cement: 20 % of fly ash:10 % silica fume. The test results indicate that for a given superplasticizer dose, the use of LFA resulted in increases in slump flow and L-flow compared to the mixtures using other aggregates due to the improved particle shape and grading of LFA. In addition, the use of LFA and EFA led to enhanced compressive strength and a decrease in autogenous shrinkage due to the improved elastic properties of LFA and the presence of free-CaO in EFA, which resulted in the formation of C-S-H.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.560
Purpose The purpose of this study was not only to explore the factors associated with the survival of OHCA(Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest), but to provide ideas for improving the operation of emergency medical system in Korea. Method 90,734 OHCAs(Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest) with a cardiac etiology, who had been transported by 119 EMS ambulances for seven years from 2006 to 2012 in Korea, were analyzed. The data had a multilevel structure in that patient's survival in the same region is interrelated, so two-level (patient-region) logistic regression analysis was applied to adjust this correlation. Results The adjusted OR in group who were given CPR(Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) by a bystander were 1.40 for survival to discharge. In addition, the adjusted OR in the group with an implementation of AED (automated external defibrillator) before arriving in hospital was 2.98 for survival to discharge. we categorized some continuous variables (number of emergency physician, OHCAs volume fo hospital, area deprivation level) into five quintiles. The adjusted OR in the number of emergency physician compared with Q1(lowest) was 1.29(Q2), 2.89(Q3), 3.39(Q4), 4.07(Q5), respectively. the adjusted OR in OHCAs volume of each hospital compared with Q1(lowest) was 2.06(Q2), 3.06(Q3), 3.46(Q4), 4.36(Q5), respectively. Lastly, the adjusted OR in deprivation level compared with Q1(least deprived area) was 0.72(Q4), 0.64(Q5) so that the adjusted OR of survival to discharge tended to decrease in more deprived districts. Conclusion The survival to discharge was better significantly in group given CPR by a bystander and with the implementation of AED before arriving in hospital. The survival to discharge tended to be significantly better in hospitals with a larger number of emergency physicians and higher volume of OHCAs in less deprived districts.

Digital manufacturing (DM) technology helps engineers design products promptly and reliably at low production cost by simulating a manufacturing process and the material behavior of a product in use, based on three-dimensional digital modeling. The computing infrastructure for digital manufacturing, however, is usually expensive and, at present, the number of professional design engineers who can take advantage of this technology to a product design accurately is insufficient, particularly in small and medium manufacturing companies. Considering this, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) and H University is operating a DM track in the form of Industry-University-Research Institute collaboration to train high-performance-computing-based DM professionals. In this paper, a series of courses to train students to work directly into DM practice in industry after graduation is reported. The operating cases of the DM track for two years since 2013 are presented by focusing on the progress in establishment, lecture and practice contents, evaluation of students, and course quality improvement. Overall, the track management, curriculum management, learning achievement of students have been successful. By expediting more active participation of the students in the track and providing more internship and job offers in the participating companies in addition to collaborative capstone design projects, the track can be expanded by fostering a nationwide training network.

Jung, Sung-Jin ; Park, Se-Hee ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 620~626
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.620
Estimating the nonlinear seismic response of structure in earthquake engineering is important. Nonlinear static analysis is a typical method, and a variety of methods and techniques for estimating the stiffness of structural system at a certain analysis stage have been introduced and used in numerical structural analysis. On the other hand, such methods have many difficulties in practical usage because they use time-consuming iterative methods or simplified algorithms for calculating the structural stiffness at specific points in the time of nonlinear static analysis. For this reason, this study suggests an accurate and effective method for estimating the stiffness of a structure in nonlinear static analysis. For this goal, existing theories of an incremental step-by-step solution was investigated first. Subsequently, an algorithm available for calculating the precise stiffness of a structural system, each element of which has a bilinear material model, was developed based on the investigated methods. Finally, a computer program, sNs, was developed with the algorithm used.

The aim of this study was to examine the impact of the obesity status on serum uric acid in health check-up examinees. The study subjects were 1,118 adults, 20 years and over (636 males, 482 females), the health package check-up at the general hospital in Gwang-Ju from January to December, 2011. This study assessed the serum uric acid, blood urea nitrogen, and creatinine levels, as well as the anthropometric variables (SBP, DBP, and BMI). In a model I, after adjusting for the variables, such as age, SBP, DBP, TC, TG, HDL-C, and FBG, the mean uric acid level (
) increased with increasing obesity status in males (p<0.001) or females (p=0.036). In model II, after adjusting for BUN and creatinine, the mean uric acid (
) in males increased with increasing obesity status (Normal weight [BMI <
; overweight [BMI
; obesity [BMI
) (p<0.001). In the females, however, the mean uric acid (
) did not increase with increasing obesity status (Normal weight,
) (p=0.191). In conclusion, these results suggest that an increase in obesity status is associated with an increase in the serum uric acid levels in males, but not in females.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.642
As 3D solid modeling prevails, a range of applications have become possible and intensive research on the integration of CAD/CAM has been conducted. As a consequence, methods to recognize the machining features from CAD models have been developed. On the other hand, generating a machining sequence using the machining features is still a problem due to a combinatorial problem with a large number of machining features. This paper proposes a new method that utilizes the precedence constraints through which the number of the combinations is reduced drastically. This method can automatically generate machining sequences requiring the lowest amount of machining time. An airplane part was used to test the usefulness of the proposed method.

DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.649
This study was a retrospective examination to identify the association of postoperative delirium of the prognosis on following femur fracture surgery in elderly patients. Data was collected from the medical records of elderly patients (aged 65 years or older), who underwent femur fracture surgery from July 2010 to January 2014, following on 3-years in one university hospital. A total of 68 patients were involved. There were 31 cases (45.6%) with delirium and 37 cases (54.4%) without delirium. The participant's average age was 80.8 (patients with delirium), and 81.8 (delirium without patients) years of age, respectively, and most of them were female. There was no significant difference between the two groups. Taking five or more medications, serum creatinine level, and the total medical costs were significantly different in the delirium group and non-delirium group. In addition, the proportional hazard model of Cox to determine the predictors for the major clinical outcome occurring after surgery revealed delirium, five or more multi-drug use, and an experience of transfusion to be significant predictors. In conclusion, postoperative delirium in the elderly undergoing femur fracture surgery can have a negative clinical outcome in patients and caregivers. Therefore, a preoperative evaluation and management of the risk factors will be necessary.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 678~689
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.678
This study examined the effect of the internal marketing policies of financial institutions on the job satisfaction and customer orientation of employees. Many studies have examined internal marketing policies. On the other hand, these studies focused the employees in the service industries (e.g. travel agencies, airlines and hotel, etc.) With the drastic change in financial institutions in recent years, financial institutions are conscious of the importance of customer service and have increased their efforts to manage and train their employees (e.g. expansion of empowerment, education and training, management support, and compensation system). The authors conducted an empirical analysis based on the assumption that these internal policies are effective in increasing the job satisfaction of employees and further influence the customer orientation. The results showed that 'empowerment, management support and compensation system' of internal marketing policies have meaningful effects on job satisfaction, whereas the education and training does not. In addition, job satisfaction has a meaningful effect on the customer orientation and on a mediating effect between internal marketing policies and customer orientation. These results indicate that the internal marketing policies of financial institutions can help improve job satisfaction and customer orientation.

Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 690~696
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.690
Search engines that rely on morphological matching of user query and web document content do not support individual interests. This research proposes a personalized web search scheme that returns the results that reflect the users' query intent and personal preferences. The performance of the personalized search depends on using an effective user profiling strategy to accurately capture the users' personal interests. In this study, the user profiles are the databases of topic words and customized weights based on the recent user queries and the frequency of topic words in click history. To determine the precise meaning of ambiguous queries and topic words, this strategy uses WordNet to calculate the semantic relatedness to words in the user profile. The experiments were conducted by installing a query expansion and re-ranking modules on the general web search systems. The results showed that this method has 92% precision and 82% recall in the top 10 search results, proving the enhanced performance.

Yang, Hyunsuk ;
Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society, volume 17, issue 2, 2016, Pages 697~702
DOI : 10.5762/KAIS.2016.17.2.697
To control permanent magnet synchronous motors smoothly, it is important to know the exact parameter values of the stator resistance, various inductances, and the flux linkage of the permanent magnet. In practice, these parameters vary due to a variable operating point, temperature change, or a fault. This paper proposes a MRAS (Model Reference Adaptive System) based parameter estimator and adaptive control scheme. Owing to the non-linearity of the system equation with respect to these parameters, although many schemes proposed previously assumed that some parameters are known, all the parameters were assumed to be unknown. The simulation results revealed the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

IDS (Intrusion Detection System) is used to detect network attacks through network data analysis. The system requires a high accuracy and detection rate, and low false alarm rate. In addition, the system uses a range of techniques, such as expert system, data mining, and state transition analysis to analyze the network data. The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of two data mining methods for detecting network attacks. They are Support Vector Machine (SVM) and a neural network called Forward Additive Neural Network (FANN). The well-known KDD Cup 99 training and test data set were used to compare the performance of the two algorithms. The accuracy, detection rate, and false alarm rate were calculated. The FANN showed a slightly higher false alarm rate than the SVM, but showed a much higher accuracy and detection rate than the SVM. Considering that treating a real attack as a normal message is much riskier than treating a normal message as an attack, it is concluded that the FANN is more effective in intrusion detection than the SVM.

A heat exchanger tube array in a heat recovery steam generator is exposed to hot exhaust gas flow that can cause flow induced vibrations, which could damage the heat exchanger tube array. The characteristics of flow induced vibration in the tube array need to be established for the structural safe operation of a heat exchanger. Several studies of the flow induced vibrations of typical heat exchangers have been conducted and the nondimensional PSD (Power Spectral Density) function with the Strouhal number, fD/U, had been derived using an experimental method. The present study examined the results of the previous experimental research on the nondimensional PSD characteristics by CFD analysis and the basis for the application of flow induced vibration to the heat recovery steam generator tube array was determined from the present CFD analysis. The present CFD analysis introduced circular cylinder tube array and calculated using unsteady laminar flow for the tube array. The characteristics of lift and drag fluctuations over the cylinder tube array was investigated. The derived nondimensional lift and drag PSD was compared with the results of the previous experimental research and the characteristics of lift and drag PSD for a circular cylinder tube array was established from the present CFD study.

Owing to the recent increased interest in wireless communication technology and rapid technology development, a range of applied technologies utilizing them are being released. In addition, at school, by adopting an attendance management system using wireless communication technology, attempts to solve problems caused by attendance books are being made. Representative attendance management systems include those using RFID, Bluetooth and clicker. Although these systems have solved the problem of wasting paper and time due to calling and writing attendance, they have other problems of generating additional expenses of purchasing or renting more equipment. To solve all of these problems, this paper suggests prototype system that can manage attendance by using NFC (Near Field Communication), which most smartphones provide. The attendance management system using NFC consists of two applications; one for professors and the other for students. The system solves problems, such as proxy attendance, loss of lesson time and additional cost by automatically managing attendance information using NFC and TCP/IP technologies.
