A Study on the Determination System of Process Conditions for Moldability by Using Fuzzy Logic

A short shot is a molded part that is incomplete because insufficient material was injected into the mold. Any factors that increase the resistance of polymer melt to flow or prohibit delivery of sufficient material into the cavity can cause a short shot. Inappropriate injection pressure is one of the most common factors which cause a short shot. Conventionally, domain experts in injection molding decide and modify the pressure based on their experience. It is difficult for a non-expert to decide the pressure properly with the considerations such as a part dimension, shape, and other processing variables. In this study, fuzzy algorithm is proposed to standardize the empirical determination of the pressure so that not only the experts but also non-experts can find the appropriate injection pressure easily. To acquire the more accurate results. domain experts should be interviewed and then technical documents which are collected from the experts should be restored in the fuzzy rule base. But in this study, simulations have been done by using C-MOLD to settle the rule base because it takes much time and also it's difficult to meet and interview the experts.
A Study on the Golf Score Management System

The paper describes a golf score management system that aids golfers in improving their abilities of playing golf. The main purpose of this system is to help golfers manage their golf scores in a more systematic way. The system consists of three main modules. a golf course management module, a golf score management module, and a golf course creation module. With this system. golfers can not only record their scores but also perform a scientific analysis. Through the results obtained from the analysis, golfers can identify and fix their weak points so that they can improve their playing abilities.
A Study on Optimal Design of Single Periodic, Multipurpose Batch Plants

The purpose of this paper is to describe the design of a general multipurpose batch process or plant in terms of a series of mathematical programing models, and to develop approach solution methodologies. The proposed model for a single period is based on the formulation (MINLP; Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming) of Papageorgaki and Reklaitis , but was linearized (MILP; Mixed Integer Linear Programming) so as to obtain an exact and practical solution, and to allow treatment of uncertainties to be considered in expanding the plant. As a solution strategy a modified Benders' Decomposition was introduced and was tested on three example problems. The optimizing solver, OSL code provided by the IBM Corporation, was used for solving the problems. The solution method was successful in that it showed remarkable reduction in the computing times as compared with the direct solution method.
Computer Program for Quality Control of Ready Mixed Concrete

To make practical application of mixing test results to concrete mix design, experimental tests of concrete were done and the relationship between cement-water ratio and compressive strength of concrete was obtained. A computer program which can be used for data base of air content, slump and compressive strength test results was developed. The program draws
-R or X-Rs control charts and has data sheets for arrangement of material test results. The computer program also helps calculation of concrete mix proportions for mixing tests and contains dictionary of concrete technical terms.
Effect of NaCl Concentration on the Quality of Kimchi during Fermentation

To estimate the effect of NaCl concentration in brine solution on quality of kimchi, chinese cabbage was brined At 5%, 8%, 10% or 15% NaCl. Titratable acidity, pH, mechanical texture and sensory quality of kimchi were measured during fermentation at 10'C. The salinity of kimchi brined at 15% NaCl was 2.49%, and the rates of pH decrease, titratable acidity acidity increase and mechanical texture decrease during fermentation were lower than those of kimchi brined at 5∼10% NaCl. Furthermore, sensory characteristics such as crispness, salty taste, sourness and overall quality of kimchi brined at 15% NaCl were in good estimation.
Extention of Shelf-life of Kakdugi by Calcium Chloride Addition

in brine solution and 0.05% CaCl
to seasoning was the most effective condition to extend shelf-life of kakdug.g.
Development of the Automatic Page Passing Device

In this study, we deal with the system design and development of the automatic page passing machine. In order to turn pages without injury of a book or a musical note, we used an inhalation motor. Also, when we turn over pages. the successive actions of fixation and inhalation are embodied by motors which are operated by a microprocessor. In traditional products. some limited pages must be fixed into the Turning Bar in advance. On the contrary, proposed equipment is able to turn over the pages of a book without laying the groundwork. Experimental results using produced facilities are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed equipment.

It is necessary to keep Kimchi at 0~5
all around the year to maintain its taste, which is very sensitive to temperature changes. In addition to temperature for maintenance of taste, property of container is also important to control the activity of bacteria involved in Kimchi. As a pottery container is the best one for the bacterial activity, it was used to store Kimchi. Pottery is shielded by cooling pipe directly, and temperature of Kimchi is controlled by the independent temperature controller.
Transmission Noise Seduction Performance of Smart Panels using Piezoelectric Shunt Damping

The possibility of a transmission noise reduction of piezoelectric smart panels using piezoelectric shunt damping is experimentally studied. Piezoelectric smart panel is basically a plate structure on which piezoelectric patch with shunt circuits is mounted and sound absorbing materials are bonded on the surface of the structure. Sound absorbing materials can absorb the sound transmitted at mid frequency region effectively while the use of piezoelectric shunt damping can reduce the transmission at resonance frequencies of the panel structure. To be able to reduce the sound transmission at low panel resonances, piezoelectric damping using the measured electrical impedance model is adopted. Resonant shunt circuit for piezoelectric shunt damping is composed of register and inductor in series, and they are determined by maximizing the dissipated energy throughout the circuit. The transmitted noise reduction performance of smart panels is investigated using an acoustic tunnel. The tunnel is a tube with square crosses section and a loud-speaker is mounted at one side of the tube as a sound source. Panels are mounted in the middle of the tunnel and the transmitted sound pressure across panels is measured. Noise reduction performance of a smart panels possessing absorbing material and/or air gap shows a good result at mid frequency region but little effect in the resonance frequency. By enabling the piezoelectric shunt damping, noise reduction of 10dB, 8dB is achieved at the resonance frequencise as well. Piezoelectric smart panels incorporating passive method and piezoelectric shunt damping are a promising technology for noise reduction in a broadband frequency.
EGR Effects on Exhaust Gas of Heavy-Duty Turbo Charge Engine with Low Pressure Route System

The efforts of EGR on performance and emissions were investigated in this study. The engine used for the tests was a six-cylinder, 11 liter, and turbo-charged, heavy-duty diesel engine with a low pressure route ECR system. The volume of recirculated gas was controlled by a manually operated valve which was installed between the turbine outlet and compressor inlet. The experiments were performed at various engine speeds and loads while the ECR rates were set at 4% and 8%. Exhaust emissions with EGR system were compared with the baseline emissions.
Effective Harmonic Diagnose Tool for Power Quality Problems

In this paper harmonic diagnose tool is described for electric evaluate the power quality at industrial power systems is described both simulation and experimental testing during various operation conditions. PTW (Power Tools for Windows) and harmonic measuring instrument are organized around personal computer and/or instrumentation study environments interconnected via RS-232. Unknown zero sequence impedance data of cable is calculated by the modified T&D and BICC method. IEEE standard is also used to estimate the transformer input data. the proposed system provides a flexible and effective environment to diagnose the power quality at industrial distribution systems by utilizing simulations and actual field data.
