Development of a Knowledge-Based Travel Information System

Traditional travel information systems provide us with comprehensive information and internet-based travel information systems (IBTIS) with useful information. However, they suffer from limited access to the system, and a lack of flexibility for user requirements. In order to overcome these problems, this research introduces a knowledge-based expert system approach. As a case study, a Knowledge-based Expert System for guiding a New Zealand tour (KEGUNZ) has been developed to suggest highly user-oriented travel plans efficiently in New Zealand. KEGUNZ has been implemented using EXSYS, an expert system shell.
GDP and MEI Influence on the Rates of Fee Change when Implementing SGR System in Korea

In order to implement SGR in Korea, it is necessary to analyse the factors affecting the increase of Korea Medical Insurance Cost. GDP and MEI may substitute the diverse factors affecting the Medical Cost Uprise. In this article, the GDP and MEI influence on the rates of fee schedule is measured when we implement SGR System in Korea. The various cases are made to analyse the rates of fee change. In Korea, if we implement the SGR system successfully. we should make a considerate formula using GDP and MEI because the rate of change in GDP and MEI is much more bigger than that of U.S.
Design and Implementation of a Hybrid-Type Mass Flow Controller

In this paper, an MFC (Mass Flow Controller) which is widely used in many semiconductor manufacturing processes for controlling the mass flow rate of a gas is designed and implemented using the PIC 16F876 of Microchip, Inc. The MFC implemented in this thesis has the form of hybrid-type, i.e., the mixed-type of the analog-type MFC, which has many problems such as low accurary, and digital-type MFC, which use an expensive DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and an ADC (Analog to Digital Convertor) with high precision. The MFC is consists of the sensor unit, the control unit and the actuator unit, and it has used the automatic calibration algorithm and the reference table method for the improvement of the performance.
Design of Framework for Content Distribution in Wireless Environment

The distribution model of multimedia content is proposed, This solves the problems which are occurred by various multimedia content and the complex distribution structure. The online distribution processes in wireless environments contain many different, companent from the of offline and wire networks. The multimedia content can be very easily propagated illegally. Under these environments the seneme to protect the copyrights of multimedia content and rights of distribution entities is needed. In this paper a distribution framework of content in wireless environment based on MPFG-21 framework if proposed. This model can be adapted to DRM(digital rights management) and utilized to protect the rights of distribution entities.
Study on the Analysis of Orthotropic Thin Plates and Orthotropic Thick Plates

In this study, it is presented analysis results of bending problems in the orthotropic thick plates and the orthotropic thin plates. Finite element method in this analysis was used. Both Kirchoffs assumptions and Mindlin assumptions are used as the basic governing equations of bending problems in the orthotropic plates. The analysis results are compared between the orthotropic thick plates and the orthotropic thin plates for the variations of thickness-width ratios.
A Study on Productivity Improvement of Man′s Shoe Products

There are many studies to measure and compare Korean foot length or foot shape. However, to make high-valued shoe product, it is not easy to find the research results about the shoe's products that include the customer requirements, price, and color. The purpose of this study is to investigate the customer's requirements for men's shoe product using the survey method, to analysis customer's needs, and to supply information to make the shoe that they want.
Effect On-line Automatic Signature Verification by Improved DTW

Dynamic Programming Matching (DPM) is a mathematical optimization technique for sequentially structured problems, which has, over the years, played a major role in providing primary algorithms in pattern recognition fields. Most practical applications of this method in signature verification have been based on the practical implementational version proposed by Sakoe and Chiba , and il usually applied as a case of slope constraint p = 0. We found, in this case, a modified version of DPM by applying a heuristic (forward seeking) implementation is more efficient, offering significantly reduced processing complexity as well as slightly improved verification performance.
A Study on LIFS Image Coding via Gram-Schmidt Orthogonalization - Fast Coding Algorithm -

Recently, Fractal Image Coding has been studied as a way of efficient data compressing scheme. In the beginning, Fractal Image Coding has been studied for the data compressing in black ＆ white images and linear images. A. E. Jacquin suggested LIFS which expends to Fractal Image Coding for a gray scale image. Currently, YTKT's LIFS scheme which is using Gram-Schmidt is so efficient that enough to compete with the JPEG which is the national standards. This paper investigates the way of greatly reduced calculation for the orthogonalization algorithm.
Tax Planning For Physician Under Base Expense System

A new base expense .system is implemented to substitute the standard income ratio system which has been used for more than 50 years. A base expense system requires a rigorous documentary evidences of important expenses such as purchase cost, labour cost, or rent. In order to make a successful tax savings, it is necessary to know the critical factors affecting tax payment in a base expense system. In this article, operating mechanisms of the base expense system and tax strategy under this system are introduced. If base expense system is successfully implemented, it will contributes considerably to progress in inducing tax compliance of non book keeping professionals who earn relatively high income in Korea.
Management System of On-line Mode Client-cluster

Research results have demonstrated that conventional client-server databases have scalability problem in the presence of many concurrent clients. The multi-tier architecture that exploits similarities in clients' object access behavior partitions clients into logical clusters according to their object request pattern. As a result, object requests that are served inside the clusters, server load and request response time can be optimized. Management of clustering by utilizing clients' access pattern-based is an important component for the system's goal. Off-line methods optimizes the quality of the global clustering, the necessary cost and clustering schedule needs to be considered and planned carefully in respect of stable system's performance. In this paper, we propose methods that detect changes in access behavior and optimize system configuration in real time. Finally this paper demonstrates the effectiveness of on-line change detection and results of experimental investigation concerning reconfiguration.
Removal of Organic Pollutants from Aqueous Solution by Hollow Fiber Module

This study is to remove several organic pollutants from wastewater by non-dispersive membrane solvent extraction technique. The distribution coefficients of several solvents were determined and the experimental system was operated counter-currently and cocurrently with respect to the aqueous phase and solvent. In these experiments, as the flow rate of aqueous solution inclosed, due to being shortened contact time to solvent, the rate of removal of organic pollutants decreased and as the flow rate of solvent increased, the rate of removal increased. Meanwhile, the rate of removal of organic pollutants for the countercurrent flow system was higher than that for the occurrent flow system.
