Frequency Controlled Series Resonant Converter System for Power Supply of Communication Station

In this paper new control strategy of series resonant converter system for power supply of communication station is suggested. Frequency controlled series resonant converter system is robust to load variations because it is POSR(Parallel Output Series Resonant: POSR) type. And it provides stable output voltage by changing switching frequency to input voltage variations. Firstly, operation analysis about suggested series resonant converter system was carried. Then simulations using ACSL(Advanced Continuous Simulation Langage) and experiments to actual system were carried to prove characteristics of suggested system.
Performance Analysis of Low Latency Pre-Registration Handoff

In this paper we analyze the performance of the low latency pre-registration handoff method of mobile IP by computer simulation. Packet losses and delays are evaluated in terms of system utilization. Foreign agents that participate in the handoff process can be modeled as queues representing input and output ports. Therefore, we propose an analytical model of pre-registration handoff by using open queueing network model. Simulation results are shown for validating analytical estimates.
The Effects of Dietary Herbal Plant Mixture on Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, Serological Changes and Carcass Characteristics in Finishing Pigs

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary herbal extracts mixture on the growth rate. carcass traits and serological changes in finishing pigs. For the Exp 1, eighty Duroc(Yorkshir(Landrace pigs(81.58
3.20kg average initial body weight) were used in a 45 day experiment. Dietary treatments included 1) NC(negative control; antibiotics-free diet), 2) PC(positive control; NC diet added 0.1% of chlortetracycline), 3) NCM(NC diet added 0.1% of herbal plant mixture) and 4) PCM(PC diet added 0.1% of herbal plant mixture). Through the entire experimental period, ADG of pigs fed NCM and PCM diets was greater(P<0.08) than that of pigs fed NC diet. There was interaction of ADG(P<0.01) in pigs fed NC diet with herbal plant mixture compared to pigs fed PC diet with herbal plant mixture. ADFI and G/F tended to increase in PC and NCM treatments. However, there were not significantly differences among the treatments. Total protein of serum was improved by supplementation of the herbal plant mixture in NC diet(P<0.04). For the Exp 2. one hundred Duroc(Yorkshir(Landrace pigs(77.36
2.01kg average initial body weight) were used in a 28 day experiment. Dietary treatments included 1) NC(negative control; antibiotics-free diet), 2) PC(positive control; NC diet added 0.1% of chlortetracycline), 3) PM0.1(NC diet added 0.1% of herbal plant mixture) and 4) PM0.2(NC diet added 0.2% of herbal plant mixture). Through the entire experimental period, ADG tended to increase in PC treatment. However, there was not significantly difference among the treatments. Carcass weight in NC was higher than other treatments(P<0.06). Backfat thickness was higher in pigs fed PC than other treatments. However, there was not significantly difference among the treatments. A grade appearances of carcass tended to increase in pigs fed PM(P<0.09). In conclusion, the results of the experiments suggest that pigs fed PM could be a beneficial growth performance and serogical immunity for finishing pigs.

Development of A System for Quality Assessment and Complexity Metrics of Java programs

In spite of the size and complexity of software becomes large and complicated, the demand of rapid development, cost reduction, good productivity and good quality software is increasing in these days. Many methods were proposed for efficient software development such as various Case tools. Metrics, Process improvement model (CMM, SPICE, ISO9000) and etc. However, most of them we useful to manage the whole projects rather than an individual programming. In this paper, we introduced a system for quality assessment and complexity metrics for Java programs to assess the individual programmer's quality rather than team's quality. This system shows not only the metrics value for quality assessment but also the source code and the soucture of classes simultaneously.
Design ＆ Development of A Diagnostic Monitoring System for CDMA Cellular Phone

The current diagnostic monitoring(DM) systems of cellular phones have many problems since their original technology is came from Qualcom company. Therefore the domestic phone makers only modify the source program and use them within limited applications. In this paper, we have developed our own DM system which is enable to solve the above problems and can be used as a test tool so that problems of phone communications are found easily and quickly. In addition, we will enhance this system to follow the current wireless technique by improving the protocol and enhancing the functions.
Study on Inhibition of Platelet Aggregation of Bioactive Constituents from Paeonia lactiflora

Methanol extracts from Paeonia lactiflora showed a strong inhibition against platelet aggregation on platelet activation test. Therefore, the bioactive constituents from Paeonia lactiflora were prepared using chromatography methods and were analyzed by NMR and reference data. Compound 1b was confirmed a same structure with henzoyloxypaeoniflorin, compound 2e was a same structure with paeoniflorin; main product of Paeonia lactiflora. Analytical data of compound 3a were not consistent with any known paeoniflorin soucture, but showed the souctural similarity with it. And also the aggregation inhibition activity of compound 3a showed a strong inhibition(
90%) induced by collagen. Therefore it suggested that the structure of compound 3a may be the similar structure of benzoyloxypaeoflorin with a functional group in place of benzoyl group and/or a different functional group in stead of Rl. We suggested that benzoyl group of benzoyloxypaeoniflorin substitued instead of 5-carbon OH group on glycoside moiety paeoniflorin played role of the metabolite in case of a platelet aggregation inhibition activity. Paeoniflorin showed more strong inhibition by thrombin than collagen. Therefore, it may be destructed a calcium metabolite as a forming
chelate. Compound 3a may be that other functional group instead of OH group of 5-carbon on glycoside moiety of paeoniflorin and/or OH group of benzoyl moiety of paeoniflorin played role of the metabolite in a platelet aggregation inhibition.
Development of I-Chuck for Oxide Etcher

A unipolar-type E-chuck was fabricated for the application of holding silicon wafers in the oxide etcher. For the fabrication of the unipolar ESC, core technologies such as coating of polyimide films and anodizing treatment of aluminum surface were developed. The polyimide films were prepared on thin coated copper substrates to minimize the plasma damage during the etch processing. Thin film heater technology was also developed for new type of E-chuck.
Biological Efficacy Assay of Chlorella hydrolysate

Biological efficacy assays, including antimicrobial, tyrosinase inhibition and anticancer activities of Chlorella hydrolysate, were carried out. In tyrosinase inhibition assay of Chlorella hydrolysate,
(inhibitory concentration) was measured as 12%. Chlorella hydrolysate showed high anti-lung cancer activity of 88.2% at a concentration of 0.15%.
The Development of Extension Card(Socket Jig) for Memory Module Test

In order to improve a damage of connection part of Main Board Memory, we developed a hazard extension card(Socket Jig). The damage occurs during the test of the memory module product of the Desktop-PC. The connection part of main board was broken by 15％ per a day before the development. There existed two major problems; One was that we must obtain more than 15％ of surplus equipment. while the other was that we needed people who were wholly responsible for repair. The development of extension card decreased operation delay. Besides, it improved capacity of surplus equipment and operation efficiency. Therefore, we can save 78,000,000 won per year.
Design of Messaging System′s Architecture and QoS Engineering Model for Global Community Services

Microbiological Stability Test of Biodisel

A Method for Estimating Local Intelligibility for Adaptive Digital Image Decimation

This paper is about the digital image decimation algorithm which generates a value of decimated element by an average of a target pixel value and a value of neighbor intelligible element to adaptively reflect the merits of ZOD method and FOD method on the decimated image. First, a target pixel located at the center of sliding window is selected, then the gradient amplitudes of its right neighbor pixel and its lower neighbor pixel are calculated using first order derivative operator respectively. Secondly, each gradient amplitude is divided by the summation result of two gradient amplitudes to generate each intelligible weight. Next, a value of neighbor intelligible element is obtained by adding a value of the right neighbor pixel times its intelligible weight to a value of the lower neighbor pixel times its intelligible weight. The decimated image can be acquired by applying the process repetitively to all pixels in input image which generates the value of decimated element by calculating the average of the target pixel value and the value of neighbor intelligible element.
The Purification Characteristics of Reactive Soil-Bentonite Landfill Liner

The purpose of this paper is to investigate purification characteristic of soil-bentonite landfill liner and to develop a desirable liner system. In order to clarify the purification characteristics, high pressure column tests using soil-bentonite, reactive soil-bentonite and reactive bentomat were carried out in the presence of water and leachate. The test results indicated that the significant amount of NH
-N, Pb and Cu was removed through the reactive soil-bentonite liner system.
Physical Properties of Permeable Concrete Using Slag as an Aggregate

This paper discusses the physical properties of permeable high quality concrete using blast furnace slag or steel slag as a part of aggregate. In the case of steel slag, aging treatment was adopted to prevent the volume expansion. With high range water reducing agent, the concrete using slag aggregate showed compressive strength up to 24MPa at the age of 28 days and the water permeability of the concrete was over the level of 0.1 m/s in this experiment. Also, there was no expansion problem in the concrete substituted with aged slag as a part of aggregate.
Optimal Voltage Management Based on the Flexible, Reliable, Intelligent and Energy-conservative Distribution System (FRIENDS)

In recent years, better quality in power electric services is being required with the development of information industries and the improvement of living standards. Also, the small scaled dispersed storage and generation (DSG) systems are being interconnected with the distribution systems and customers by the influence of the recent issues such as deregulation and global environmental problems in power system. Under these circumstances, it is very important to maintain the customer voltages within allowable limits for the distribution system which is located at the most sensitive part in the power system. To overcome these problems, this paper shows the basic concepts of FRIENDS which is considered as one of the power delivery system in the near future and also presents an evaluation method on the impacts of customer voltages by operation models of FRIENDS. The FRIENDS can change the system configuration in a flexible manner by using the static switches and offer the different power qualities in power services through the power quality control centers which play the most important role in FRIENDS. Numerical examples are shown in order to indicate the efficiency of the proposed method.
Design and Structural Analysis of Duck Breeding System

This study is object to design and souctural analysis of duck breeding system. Design tool is Auto CAD and souctural analysis of duck breeding system using result from ANSYS Code. The finite element model was developed to compute the stress, strain and displacement for duck breeding system. This structural analysis results, many variables such as boundary condition, constraint condition and load condition are considered.
A Study on the Performance Analysis between Conglomerate and Non-conglomerate M&A

The purpose of this study analyzes the effects of M＆A between conglomerate and non-conglomerate corporational with 57 samples of firms during the period from 1990 to 1997 right before IMF. financial crisis. These models employed to measure effects of M＆A in this paper are both market model and market adjusted return model using test of t-statistics. Results of this article show that negative excess returns are observed for non-conglomerate mergers and positive excess gains are exhibited for conglomerate mergers. This implies that conglomerate mergers are more effective than firm specialization in terms of merger effects.
An Empirical Analysis On The Effects Of M＆A Between The Merging Firms And The Merged Firms

In this study. we empirically compared and investigated the impacts and effects of M&A between the merging firms and the merged firms during the period from 1990 to 1997 which the developed countries' market principles were adopted and more autonomous and competitive M&A market were activated. For this purpose, this paper has set hypothesis and tested by analyzing those AAR, and CARs employing both market model and market adjusted model. The empirical results revealed in this research show that the CAR is more positive for merged firms than merging firms which are contrast with results of previous studies researched in 1980s.
A Study on East Fractal Image Decoder Using a Codebook Image

Since Jacquine introduced the image coding algorithm using fractal theory, many fractal image compression algorithms providing good quality at low bit rate have been proposed by Fisher and Beaumount et al.. But a problem of the previous implementations is that the decoding rests on an iterative procedure whose complexity is image-dependent. This paper proposes an iterative-free fractal image decoding algorithm to reduce the decoding time. In the proposed method, under the encoder previously with the same codebook image as an initial image to be used at the decoder, the fractal coefficients are obtained through calculating the similarity between the codebook image and an input image to be encoded. As the decoding process can be completed with received fractal coefficients and predefined initial image without repeated iterations, the decoding time could be remarkably reduced.
