Document Filtering Algorithm for Efficient Preprocessing of XML Information Retrieval

The paper proposes a preprocessing method for efficient processing of XML queries in information retrieval with a large amount of XML documents. The conventional preprocessing methods filter out XML documents by parsing XML document for keyword of query or by comparing query signatures with signatures of XML document to be generated. But these methods are dependent on a query and are very in efficient for a large amount of XML documents. For this, we generate a universal DTD based on ontology of a domain. The universal DTD is applicable to the XML documents when they contain information of a same domain even when they have different structures and attributes. Then, using the universal DTD, we filter out the XML documents that are not bounded in the domain. We evaluate the performance of this method through experiments.

According to the trend that knowledge information and technology become resource of international competitiveness in industrial development, some countries of world are improving national human resource development system through National Occupational Standards, which is inseparable link system of work-education and training-qualification. National Occupational Standards have been developed fur over all industries by Human Resource Development Korea since 2002. Purpose of this study is to develop a competency based curriculum of computer mechanical design department in junior college or polytechnic college by systematic curriculum and instructional development model based on Korean National Occupational Standards. A guide line how to develop education and training program is presented also.
Development of Three-dimensional Chamber-type Glucose Sensor Using Micromachining Technology

A micromachined biochip with a three dimensional silicon chamber was developed for the construction of biosensors. Anisotropic etching was used fur the formation of the chamber on the p-type silicon wafer(100) and then was glued to the Pyrex glass bottom-substrate with pre-deposited platinum electrode. The electrochemical characterization of its Pt electrode and Ag/AgCl reference electrode was investigated.

In order to educate and train proper work forces who can satisfy the industry demands, Human Resource Development Korea had developed the Korean National Occupational Standards. Following to the competency-based-curriculum and the guide lines which were developed based on this standard, the training program fur a machine design has been developed. It has been applied in several colleges and some typical examples which were carried out by students as term project are presented to show the effectiveness of the developed program.
Practical Design and Implementation Methodology for Disturbance Rejection Controller

This Paper proposes a practical design and implementation methodology for a disturbance rejection controller. In a 2 Degree-Of-Freedom (DOF) structure, disturbance rejection performance can be improved without a high gain in forward-loop controller which might cause unwanted side-effects in conventional controller. But, since design methodology of 2 DOF controller is originally derived from the 2 DOF theory, it is not easy to utilize fer various industrial applications. Disturbance observer is a simple, but very effective 2 DOF controller. In this paper, practical issues are discussed from basic idea of DOB to technical procedure for design and implementation. Additionally, a methods and their examples of experimental modeling are explained. The proposed method is demonstrated by two examples of linear-type motor systems.
Value Creation Process and Business Model of Open Source Software

This paper aims to compare open source software (OSS) with proprietary software (PS), and to propose a new business model for OSS. Generally speaking, PS has made negative impact on software industry in various ways. In contrast, OSS may reduce negative aspects of lock-in effect and transaction cost the ways in which software distribution has been utilized. In this regard, OSS makes it possible to create a new business model, which is software customization. Software customization is not to sell software license directly to end-users, but to create values by means of developing and capitalizing software-related industries where value chain is linked. In other words, the new business model of OSS is focusing on software market where the value created by OSS can be enhanced.
A Study of Cell Latch-up Effect Analysis in SRAM Device

A soft error rate neutrons is a growing problem fur terrestrial integrated circuits with technology scaling. In the acceleration test with high-density neutron beam, a latch-up prohibits accurate estimations of the soft error rate (SER). This paper presents results of analysis for the latch-up characteristics in the circumstance corresponding to the acceleration SER test for SRAM. Simulation results, using a two-dimensional device simulator, show that the deep p-well structure has better latch-up immunity compared to normal twin and triple well structures. Deposition of Polytetrafluoroethylene Thin Films by IR-pulsed Laser Ablation

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) thin films were prepared from the pellets of the graphite doped PTFE via pulsed laser ablation with 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. The graphite powder converts the absorbed photon energy into thermal energy which is transmitted to nearby PTFE. The PTFE is decomposed by thermal process. The deposited films were transparent and crystalline. SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and AFM (atomic force microscopy) analyses indicated that the film surface morphology changed to fibrous structure with increasing thickness. The fluorine to carbon ratios of the film were 1.7 and molecular axis was parallel with (100) Si-wafer substrate. These results obtained by XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy), FTIR (fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) and XRD (X-ray diffraction).
Study of e-learning and ICT Education in the Knowledge Society

In this paper we are investigating how ubiquitous revolution in knowledge society changes the education system. By the help of ubiquitous computing and networking techniques we estimates the configuration of e-teaming in the age of knowledge -based society, and we examines Education Model with e-teaming and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) at e-School. We also suggest the feasible design of the e-School and a Blended-learning scheme based on cooperative education as a way of teaching Education.
Permeability Characteristics of Sedimented Clayey Soils

The oedometer test and the constant rate of consolidtion test were performed using the sedimented clayey soil sample. The characteristics of permeability of the clayey soil such as anisotropy, permeability change index, relation with void ratio, and influencing factors, were investigated from the lab. test results. Analyzing the permeability characteristics, the representative permeability coefficient was proposed.
A New Cleaning Concept for Display Manufacturing Process with Electrolyzed Anode Water

Display manufacturing process has adopted RCA cleaning, applying to larger area and coping with environmental issue for last ten years. However, the approaching concept of ozonized, hydrogenised, or electrolyzed water cleaning technologies is within RCA clean paradigm. In this work, only electrolyzed anode water was applied to clean particles and organics as well as metals based on Pourbaix concept, and as a test vehicle, MgO particles were introduced to prove the new concept. The electrolyzed anode water is very oxidative with high oxidation reduction potential (ORP) and low in pH of more than 900 mV and 3.1, respectively. MgO particles were immersed in the anode water and its weight losses due to dissolution were measured with time. Weight losses were in the ranges of 100 to 500 micrograms in 250 ml anode water depending on their ORP and pH. Therefore it was concluded that the cleaning radicals in the anode water was at least in the range of 1 to

. Hence it can be assumed that the anode water applied to display cleaning from now on
ranges of contaminants are being treated. In addition, it was observed that anode water did not develop micro-roughness on hydrophobic surface while it did on the native silicon oxide.
A study on Finite Element Analysis of Tool Deformation in End Milling

This study is predicted tool deformation by cutting forces and chip-tool interface temperature in machining process. Modeling of tool is made using 3D CAD software, finite element method is performed by cutting forces and temperature. Cutting forces and temperature used load conditions are predicted using the cutting force model based on machining theory. Experimental milling tests have been conducted to verify the cutting force model. Finally, this study is predicted cutting force components and temperature using cutting conditions, material property, tool geometry without experiment and tool deformation is predicted by cutting forces and temperature in machining process.
Permeability and Dissolvability of Cathodic Electrolyzed Water for Electrophoretic Gel and Green Tea Components

The permeability of cathodic electrolyzed water toward electrophoretic gel and dissolvability of cathodic electrolyzed water toward green tea components were compared with those of general waters in this investigation. Stained band intensities of the proteins by CBB-R prepared in cathodic electrolyzed water were compared with those in deionized water for various time intervals. Proteins were stained first by CBB-R in cathodic electrolyzed water as compared with those by CBB-R in deionized water. Moreover, cathodic electrolyzed water showed dramatically enhanced solubility toward green tea components at
than general waters. These results suggest much greater permeability and dissolvability of cathodic electrolyzed water than those of general waters.
A Study on the Styrofoaming Method by UHF Heating

The low foamed high strengthen styrofoam samples made by dielectric heating are discussed. We used the oscillator which have the frequency of 13.6 MHz and the power of 7 kW. 3 times expanded beads by steaming method were used in our foam-molding test.
