Lately, massive concrete structures are increasingly built. Mass concrete structures are cast in many stages with construction joints. Individually constructed segment exhibit different heat source properpies and time dependent properties. As such construction stages must be incorporated in a heat of hydration analysis model to truly reflect a real construction process. Thermal stress analysis is conducted to find the way of controlling the thermal crack of pier footing mat in this paper. The footing mat model fur the analysis is
area and 3m height. This study show the process of construction stage and analyzes the results for a foundation structure constructed in 2 stage pours.
A Study on the Optimal Distribution toss Management Using toss factor in Power Distribution Systems

Recently, the needs and concerns for the power loss are increasing according to the energy conservation at the level of the national policies and power utilities's business strategies. Especially, the issue of the power loss is the main factor for the determining the electric pricing rates in the circumstances of the deregulation of electrical industry. However, because of the lacking of management for power loss load factors (LLF) it is difficult to make a calculation for the power loss and to make a decision for the electric rates. And loss factor (k-factor) in korea, which is a most important factor for calculation of the distribution power loss, has been used as a fixed value of 0.32 since the fiscal year 1973, There(ore, this study presents the statistical calculation methods of the loss factors classified by load types and seasons by using the practical data of 65 primary feeders which are selected by proper procedures. Based on the above the algorithms and methods, the optimal method of the distribution loss management classified by facilities such as primary feeders, distribution transformers and secondary feeders is presented. The simulation results show the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed methods.
Development of A Metadata Generating & Editing System for MPEG-7

MPEG-7 provides a lot of advantages for retrieving and editing of multimedia data by providing the information of structure and semantics in multimedia data such as digital images and audio. In this paper, a metadata generator and editor system for MPEG-7 is introduced. It suggests the overall technique and framework of generating and editing multimedia data when such content is created. This system also includes not only the functions of generating, editing and saving meta-data of MPEG-7 but also the functions of meta-data editing of moving pictures based on MPEG 1, 2 and browsing of the overall editing process.
A Performance Analysis of the Face Recognition Based on PCA/LDA on Distance Measures

In this paper, we analysis the recognition performance of PCA/LDA by distance measures. We are adapt to ORL face database with the fourteen distance measures. In case of PCA, it has high performance for the manhattan distance and the weighted SSE distance to face recognition, In case of PCA/LDA, it has high performance for the angle-based distance and the modified SSE distance. Also, PCA/LDA is better than PCA for reduction of dimension. Therefore, the PCA/LDA method and the angle-based distance have the most performance and a few dimension for face recognition with ORL face database.
A Study of PAH (polyaromatic hydrocarbon) Biodegradation in Soil by Bacillus subtilis mixed with Wooden Media

PAHs are aromatic hydrocarbon compunds with two or more benzene rings. Because they are mostly toxic to human life, they need to be converted to non-toxic compunds or to be degraded completely. This work aims to degrade PAHs (phenanthrene and pyrene) using Bacillus bacteria covered on cork or sawdust. The results show that media effect on phenanthrene was negligible whereas biodegradation ability of sawdust carrying the bacteria was better than that of biofilm-covered cork when pyrene was tested. PAH removal was also affected by soil moisture content with

Fuzzy Structured Query Language (FSQL) for Relational Database Systems

A fuzzy query language, called FSQL, in the relational databases is introduced in this paper. In general, database systems have query systems which are able to retrieve and manipulate precise data. However, such queries are hard to operate on the real world applications since their queries are often imprecise or incomplete. Recently, considerable attention has been given to research dealing with vagueness of the query in relational database systems. In this paper we have suggested an effective method of accepting vagueness of the query in data processing. The syntax of FSQL is formally defined with EBNF, and an interpreter of FSQL has been implemented as a prototype.

In this paper, phase controlled series resonant converter (PCSRC) system for power supply of communication station is suggested. PCSRC system is robust to load variations because it is POSR (parallel output series resonant) type. And it provides stable output voltage by changing phase of MOSFET switches to input voltage variations. Firstly, operation analysis about suggested series resonant converter system was carried.
