A Study on Emission Characteristics in A LPG Vehicle

This research presented experimental results obtained from the bench test of a 1800cc LPG vehicle, fitted with ECM for fuel supplying controlled system. The comparison study was made with non-ECM-equipped in terms of performances and emission characteristics. CVS-75 emission tests was conducted in order to meet emission regulations.
Engine Performance and Emission Characteristics in A HD Diesel Engine by the Application of GTL Fuel

In this research, engine performance and emission characteristics of a 12,000cc heavy duty diesel engine was investigated by the application of GTL and ULSD fuels. The test was conducted at several engine speeds and loads under a single mode and a ESC mode. GTL fuel proves that it can be applicable to vehicles without engine modification.
A case study on troubles analysis and diagnoses of passenger car's engine based on OBD

In this study, we have performed a systematic case study on troubles and diagnoses of passenger car's engine based on OBD. We have acquired 1,242 data in order to analysis accurate troubles' causes and apposite diagnoses. 128 data of them are got using OBD apparatus, and the rest of them are collected on related website. As results, distribution on trouble cases shows bad idling(32%), poor acceleration(21%), stop in running(19%), faulty start(11%), inferior fuel economy(9%), and insufficient power(8%) in order of magnitude. And in the systematic cases, it is not difficult to detect troubles in a single part. But we know that special apparatus such as multichannel scanner is needed in complicated troubles. Furthermore we think that the survey is continued in various ways for more systematic case study on troubles and diagnoses.
A Study on the Life Span Prediction of Railroad Wheels caused by Rolling Contact Fatigue

The crack that occurs on the wheels of railroad cars can be categorized into a surface crack that starts from the surface or a subsurface crack that starts from the inside and can be detrimental to safe railroad operations. Therefore, estimating the growth life span of this type of crack is very important. In this research, the stress distributions, displacements, and the growth-life spans of both surface cracks and subsurface cracks have been studied. By using the finite element analysis, especially in the life span prediction process, the stress conditions and the stress intensity factors of the crack tip have been discovered. The Paris formula has been used to analyze the growth-life span prediction.
Analysis of Torsional Excitation Force of the Vehicle Driveline

Torque fluctuation of an engine and angular velocity variation of a propeller shaft are the main excitation sources in the vehicle driveline. This paper presents brief mechanism of these excitation sources. Equivalent models of these systems are construced to simulate the excitation source. The computer simulation was carried out by ARLA Simul v 6.7 and ARLA-Simstat v 2.3. Results of the simulations show the characteristics of torsional excitation source of the driveline. Experimental setups for engine system and propeller shaft system are constructed with component of the vehicle. Torque fluctuation of the flywheel and angular velocity of the propeller shaft were measured from this experimental setups. Experimental results are compared with simulation results. The results from experimental analysis agree with those from theoretical results.
Brightness Degradation of Projection TV with Plastic Coupler

In general the cooling of projection TV is realized with aluminum coupler and coolant. A new type of projection TV with plastic coupler is discussed. Compared with an aluminum coupler, the plastic coupler has the advantage of cost, but is not as good as aluminum one in cooling performance. Therefore it is thought that there may be some problems such as brightness degradation induced by insufficient cooling andit is needed to investigate the relation between phosphor brightness and temperature variation. In this paper, a procedure is developed to predict the brightness degradation of CRT in projection TV with plastic coupler. Thermal analysis for CRT in projection TV is performed using FEM (finite element method).
The Evaluation of the Structural Integrity of Bellows Globe Valve for Nuclear Power

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the structural integrity of the Class 1500 Bellows Seal 3 inch globe valve classified as seismic category IIA. The finite element analysis program, ANSYS, Version 10.0, is used to perform both a modal frequency analysis and an equivalent static stress analysis of the subject valve modeling. The modal frequency analysis results show the fundamental natural frequency is greater than 33 Hz. Therefore the equivalent static stress analysis is performed using the seismic acceleration values. The stresses resulted from various loadings and their combinations are evaluated based on the structural acceptance criteria of the ASME Code. The stresses in the glove valve due to the seismic loadings are within the allowable limits. It is concluded that the globe valve structure is maintaining the structural integrity fur the seismic loading conditions.
CAE Analysis on the Radius Curvature of Ununiformed wall-thickness Jar

This paper is aimed to investigate the deformation caused by ununiform contraction of injection molding with highly big differences of thickness by the continuity of various curvature radius. By CAE analysis, the uniform cooling structure and optimum molding conditions are found for Jars made of SAN and PMMA materials and applied to the design of chill. In order toevaluate the molding pressure, resin temperature, molding temperature, cooling conditions, Moldflow program is applied. As results of experiments, the deformation and inferiority phenomena in Jars are analyzed for each factor and proposed the injection molding conditions to minimize the cooling structure and reduce the cycle time.
Nano-scale Patterning on Diamond substrates using an FIB

We patterned nano-width lines on a super hard bulk diamond substrate by varying the ion beam current and ion beam sources with a dual beam field ion beam (FIB). In addition, we successfully fabricated two-dimensional nano patterns and three-dimensional nano plate modules. We prepared nano lines on a diamond and a silicon substrate at the beam condition of 30 kV, 10 pA

assisted ion sources. We measured each of the line-width, line-depth, etched line profiles, etch rate, and aspect ratio, and then compared them. We confirmed that nano patterning was possible on both a bulk diamond and a silicon substrate. The etch rate of
source can be enhanced about two times than that of Ga source. The width of patterns on a diamond was smaller than that on a silicon substrate at the same ion beam power The sub-100 nm patterns on a diamond were made under the charge neutralization mode to prevent charge accumulation. We successfully made a two-dimensional, 240 nm-width text of the 300-lettered Lord's Prayer on a gem diamond with 30 kV-30 pA FIB. The patterned text image was readable with a scanning electron microscope. Moreover, three dimensional nano-thick plate module fabrication was made successfully with an FIB and a platinum deposition, and electron energy loss spectrum (EELS) analysis was easily performed with the prepared nano plate module.

. A possible reason fur the improved thermal stability of the silicides formed on single crystal silicon substrate is the role of Ir and Co in preventing
transformation. Ir and Co also improved thermal stability of silicides formed on polysilicon substrate, but this enhancement was lessened due to the formation of high resistant phases and also a result of silicon mixing during high temperature diffusion. Ir-inserted nickel silicides showed surface roughness below 3 nm, which is appropriate for nano process. In conclusion, the proposed Ir- and Co- inserted nickel silicides may be superior over the conventional nickel monosilicides due to improved thermal stability.
Anti-Slip Control of Railway Vehicle Using Load Torque Disturbance Observer

In electric motor coaches, the rolling stocks move by the adhesive effort between rail and driving wheel. Generally, the adhesive effort is defined by the function of both the weight of electric motor coach and the adhesive effort between rails and driving wheel. The characteristics of adhesive effort is strongly affected by the conditions between rails and driving wheel. When the adhesive effort decreases suddenly, the electric motor coach has slip phenomena. This paper proposes a re-adhesion control based on disturbance observer and sensor-less vector control. The numerical simulation and experimental results point out that the proposed readhesion control system has the desired driving wheel torque response for the tested bogie system of electric coach. Based on this estimated adhesive effort, the re-adhesion control is performed to obtain the maximum transfer of the tractive effort.
Voltage Control in a Novel Three-Phase Line Interactive UPS System with Parallel-Series Active Power Line Conditioning Capabilities using AC Line Reactor

In this paper a novel 3-phase line interactive UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) system with parallel-series active power-line conditioning capability using AC line reactor and two four-leg PWM VSCs(Voltage Source Converters) is proposed. And the strategy of voltage control in proposed UPS system is explained. The objective of voltage control in parallel(shunt) and series PWM VSC of proposed UPS system is to guarantee satisfactory characteristics in steady state and transient state.

In earthing technologies, the intrusion of the surge wave can be protected when the earthing resistance is as low as several ohms. However, the cost fer realizing such a low resistance is quite high. Therefore it is important to determine appropriate target value of the earthing resistance to install cost-effective grounding system. In this work, we have proposed an optimization method of the earthing resistance according to the various environmental parameters by using a numerical simulator We have also developed new catalyst composed of water-soluble alkaline elements and activated carbon and investigated its electrical characteristics for enhancement of the earthing qualities.
New 3-Phase Phase Locked Loop(PLL) Strategy Haying Frequency Limiter and Anti-windup Suitable to Uninterruptible Power Supply

In this paper an advanced PLL strategy suitable to UPS, compared with conventional PLL strategy using the positive sequence component extracted from source voltages, is suggested. Frequency limiter and anti-windup are added to conventional PI controller in suggested PLL strategy. Basic operational principle of suggested PLL is same as that of conventional PLL, but the difference between two strategies is that the suggested PLL can limit the change of frequency in constant range because of inclusion of frequency limiter. Compute. simulation was carried fer the DVR(dynamic voltage restorer) compensating voltage to examine the difference between conventional PLL strategy and the suggested PLL strategy limiting frequency. And the results clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested PLL strategy for UPS.

Color Code Detection and Recognition Using Image Segmentation Based on k-Means Clustering Algorithm

Severe distortions of colors in the obtained images have made it difficult for color codes to expand their applications. To reduce the effect of color distortions on reading colors, it will be more desirable to statistically process as many pixels in the individual color region as possible, than relying on some regularly sampled pixels. This process may require segmentation, which usually requires edge detection. However, edges in color codes can be disconnected due tovarious distortions such as zipper effect and reflection, to name a few, making segmentation incomplete. Edge linking is also a difficult process. In this paper, a more efficient approach to reducing the effect of color distortions on reading colors, one that excludes precise edge detection for segmentation, was obtained by employing the k-means clustering algorithm. And, in detecting color codes, the properties of both six safe colors and grays were utilized. Experiments were conducted on 144, 4M-pixel, outdoor images. The proposed method resulted in a color-code detection rate of 100% fur the test images, and an average color-reading accuracy of over 99% for the detected codes, while the highest accuracy that could be achieved with an approach employing Canny edge detection was 91.28%.
A Study on the High Frequency Characteristics and Equivalent Circuit Model of Microstrip Lines Having Defected Ground Structures in Multilayer Substrates

In this paper, the transmission characteristics and equivalent circuit model of microstrip transmission line having defected ground structure (DGS) in multilayer substrates are described fur high frequency region. In order to perform the study, the second dielectric layer is attached additionally onto the bottom(ground) plane of the basic DGS microstrip line consisted of the microstrip line and DGS. The dielectric constant and thickness of the second dielectric layer are adjusted to get various transmission characteristics and model parameters, and to analysis the effect of the second dielectric layer ultimately. According to this paper, the effect and equivalent circuits due to the attached dielectric substrate are verified separately, and this is expected to be applied to high frequency circuit design in the future.
Extraction of Myocardial Infarction by Consecutive Image Analysis in B-mode Echocardiogram

We studied on some techniques which are able to discriminate the difference between normal and infarcted myocardium by consecutive image analysis in B-mode echocardiogram. In order to analyze two-dimensional echocardiogram, we presented inter-frame and intra-frame analysis method throughout the complete heart cycle in closed-chest human and proposed new analysis parameters which are named HGE and LT. The analysis technique using the proposed parameters revealed quantitatively dominant features between normal and infarcted regions. The infarcted areas yield regions of higher intensity throughout the entire cardiac cycle, but normal tissue demonstrates greater variability throughout the entire cardiac cycle. Hence, we could verify that these parameters varying over the entire cardiac cycle are good indicators for the state of myocardium.
A Study on the Development of Wireless Data Logger System using ATmega128

In this paper, we implemented an wireless data logger system for checking gas volume data using microcontroller Atmega128. The system used wireless communication between master and slave, and operated by socket communication under TCP/IP protocol between server and client. And monitoring interface program was implemented as a software adoptable for GUI environment using Visual C++. The system is constructed server program and client program in order to display gas volume data at a real time, and is expensive, tiny, and easy in implementation. It allows the system to be useful as a pilot project for microcontroller experiment.
Video Data Retrieval System using Annotation and Feture Information

In this thesis, we propose a semantics-based video retrieval system which supports semantics-retrieval for various users of massive video data. Proposed system automatically processes the extraction of contents information which video data has and retrieval process using agent which integrate annotation-based retrieval and feature-based retrieval. From experiment, the designed and implemented system shows increase of recall rate and precision rate for video data scene retrieval in performance assessment.
Design and Implementation of Role-Based Access Control Package for Java Applications

Java is platform-independent and supports uniform solutions from mobile area (J2ME) to enterprise area (J2EE), so Java is a good development tool for the environment of heterogeneous machines and distributed applications. Java applications need access control module as a Java package. In this paper, we design and implement it. Therefore Java developers can reduce development time, and system managers easily do access control work. Proposed module is based on Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model and includes a Java package and administration tool.
Acoustic Characteristic Analysis of the accident for Automatic Traffic Accident Detection at Intersection

Actually, a present traffic accident detection system is subsisting limitation of accurate distinction under the crowded condition at intersection because the system depend upon mainly the image information at intersection and digital image processing techniques nearly all. To complement this insufficiency, this article aims to estimate the level of present technology and a realistic possibility by analyzing the acoustic characteristic of crash sound that we have to investigate fur improvement of traffic accident detection rate at intersection. The skid sound of traffic accident was showed the special pattern at 1[KHz])
3[KHz] bandwidth when vehicles are almost never operated in and around intersection. Also, the frequency bandwidth of vehicle crash sound was showed sound pressure difference over 30[dB] higher than when there is no occurrence of traffic accident below 500[Hz].
A Simulator for Evaluating Packet Scheduling Methods of High-speed Portable Internet Systems

HPI(High-speed Portable Internet) system is going to be commercialized before long. Efficient scheduling mechanisms for UGS, rtPS, nrtPS and BE, which are service types of the HPI, are necessary to increase the utilization of wireless channels under the different QoS requirements. In this paper, we develop a simulator which can be used to evaluate the performance of scheduling mechanisms. The advantage of the proposed simulator is that one can simulate diverse situations not changing the simulation model but just setting various parameters.
A Privacy Protection REID System using Random basis ID Allocating

In this paper, we have proposed a privacy protection RFID system using random number based ID allocation. Currently, there are rising issues about privacy violation in RFID system. This issues caused by tracking the ID of tag which present unique identity of tag. The proposed system dynamically allocates random basis ID to tag, then the tag can not be traced. The random ID allocation procedures of this system can be operate in cryptographic mode or normal(non-cryptographic) mode. This system can be applied to privacy protected customer tracking RFID system in mesa-outlet stores which tracing customer's moving path.
Real-time Vehicle Recognition Mechanism using Support Vector Machines

The information of vehicle is very important for maintaining traffic order under the present complex traffic environments. This paper proposes a new vehicle plate recognition mechanism that is essential to know the information of vehicle. The proposed method uses SVM which is excellent object classification compare to other methods. Two-class SVM is used to find the location of vehicle plate and multi-class SVM is used to recognize the characters in the plate. As a real-time processing system using multi-step image processing and recognition process this method recognizes several different vehicle plates. Through the experimental results of real environmental image and recognition using the proposed method, the performance is proven.
Text Region Extraction Using Pattern Histogram of Character-Edge Map in Natural Images

Text region detection from a natural scene is useful in many applications such as vehicle license plate recognition. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a text region extraction method using pattern histogram of character-edge maps. We create 16 kinds of edge maps from the extracted edges and then, we create the 8 kinds of edge maps which compound 16 kinds of edge maps, and have a character feature. We extract a candidate of text regions using the 8 kinds of character-edge maps. The verification about candidate of text region used pattern histogram of character-edge maps and structural features of text region. Experimental results show that the proposed method extracts a text regions composed of complex background, various font sizes and font colors effectively.
A Study on Speech Signal Processing of TSIUVC using Least Mean Square

In a speech coding system using excitation source of voiced and unvoiced, it would be a distortion of speech waveform in case of exist a voiced and an unvoiced consonants in a frame. In this paper, I propose a new method of TSIUVC(Transition Segment Including Unvoiced Consonant) approximate-synthesis by using Least Mean Square. As a result, a method by using Least Mean Square was obtained a high quality approximation-synthesis waveform . The important thing is that the frequency signals in a maximum error signal can be made with low distortion approximation-synthesis waveform. This method has the capability of being applied to a new speech coding of Voiced/Silence/TSIUVC, speech analysis and synthesis.
A study on Speech Coding Method using V/S/TSIUVC Switching

In a speech coding system using excitation source of voiced and unvoiced, it would be a distortion of speech quality in a voiced and an unvoiced consonants in a frame. In this paper, I propose a new multi-pulse coding method make use of V/S/TSIUVC switching and TSIUVC approximation-synthesis method in order to restrict a distortion of speech quality. The TSIUVC is extracted by using the zero crossing rate and individual pitch pulse. And the TSIUVC extraction rate was 91% for female voice and 96.2% for male voice. The important thing is that the frequency information of 0.547kHz below and 2.813kHz above can be made with high quality synthesis waveform within TSIUVC. I evaluated the MPC of V/UV and FBD-MPC of V/S/TSIUVC. As a result, the synthesis speech of FBD-MPC was better in speech quality than the MPC.

In this paper we propose a survivability management model to evaluate the tradeoffs between the cost of defence mechanisms for information systems with weighted service and the resulting expected survivability after a network attack or occurrence of incidents. By varying the level of defence in the simulation, we examine how survivability changes according to the defense level. We derive a cost/survivability and weighted service/survivability curve that managers can use to decide on the appropriate level of defense for the network system of their organizations.
A study of small antennas for MIMO applications

In this paper, small printed antennas for MIMO applications are presented. The proposed antennas are based on PIFA structure which is a popular approach for miniaturization. The obtained antenna operates in IEEE802.11a band (5.15-5.35GHz) and has a planar structure which can be adopted for various potable applications. According to our simulation results, prototype antennas are manufactured and the isolation among the antenna elements are measured for MIMO applications. And we suggest a technique to improve isolation by adding a
/4 slit between two antennas and investigate the results.

The designed handhold care system is implemented by embedded Visual C++4.0 and Pocket PC2003 software development kit (SDK) in an 802.11 wireless network, and we were conducted that the research provide sufficiently the usefulness of the U health system for the collection of care management information. The proposed system is consists of care management module for health diagnosis, personal record module, data transport module, image information management module for clinic. Also, fur emergency status, transmission function of clinic information is implemented by wireless LAN protocol and serial communication.

Fast detection and automatic generation of worm signatures are essential to contain zero-day worms because the speed of self-propagating worms is too fast for humans to respond. In this paper, we propose an automatic signature generation method against worm's attack, and show the effectiveness of the proposed method by implementing it and appling it to the DHT based network and generating the worm signatures for it.

Preliminary Study for Health Monitoring Using Tongue Image Analysis

Tongue is one of the most important parts in patient diagnosis in traditional Korean(Chinese) medicine. This paper presents health monitoring method using tongue images of a person. The method uses not absolute tongue features but relative ones which are differences from reference health condition(RHC), diagnosed in hospital, for a person. A user can give tongue images to a health monitoring system everyday, which extracts regions of interest (ROI's) of the tongue, and compares their features with reference health condition. In the experiments, tongue image analysis for a person by our computerized method encouraged us that the method using tongue images can be contributed for health monitoring.

A Novel Adaptive Histogram Equalization based on Histogram Matching

The contrast control of images with narrow dynamic range is a simple method among enhancement methods for low intensity of image. Histogram equalization is the most common method for this purpose, which stretches the dynamic range of intensity Conventional methods would fail to enhance images with extremely dark and bright regions, because of not considering the shape of histogram. In this paper, we propose a novel adaptive histogram equalization based on histogram matching with multiple Gaussian transformation function. As a result, output images with a couple of peaks of histogram could be improved and the details such as edges in dark regions could be appeared better than conventional method subjectively.

A Development of Video Tracking System on Real Time Using MBR

Object tracking in a real time image is one of interesting subjects in computer vision and many practical application fields past couple of years. But sometimes existing systems cannot find object by recognize background noise as object. This paper proposes a method of object detection and tracking using adaptive background image in real time. To detect object which does not influenced by illumination and remove noise in background image, this system generates adaptive background image by real time background image updating. This system detects object using the difference between background image and input image from camera. After setting up MBR(minimum bounding rectangle) using the internal point of detected object, the system tracks object through this MBR. In addition, this paper evaluates the test result about performance of proposed method as compared with existing tracking algorithm.

A novel method to extract the region of five sensory organ and Myungdang from a facial image for facial ocular inspection

Many automatic medical devices have been invented and developed mostly for the western medicine, not for the oriental medicine. Facial ocular inspection is one of the four diagnosis methods of oriental medicine, which makes a diagnosis of disease by observing the shape and color of patient's vital organs. In facial ocular inspection, the regions of five sensory organs and Myungdang are specially important. In this paper, we propose a novel method to extract the five sensory organ and Myungdang from a facial image for facial ocular inspection. Finally, we show the usefulness of the proposed method by experiments.
Analysis of Dalcheon River Bed Change using GSTARS Model

In this study, semi-two dimension numerical model(GSTARS 2.1 model) were applied to study on the hydraulic and sedimentologic characteristics of downstream channel section in Dal stream. GSTARS 2.1 model was applied for the four selected sediment transport formulas(Meyer-Peter and Muller, Acker and White's, Engelund and Hanson, Yang formula) from 1984 to 1992 measured data on each section. The simulation results of Meyer-Peter and Muller formula for long-term bed changes are good when compared to the measured data. When quantitatively compared, it appears that the results data is relatively underestimated compared to the 1992 measured data on each section. Using Meyer-Peter and Muller formula, analyse the effects of bed changes by stream tube number.
A Numerical Study on Vertical Load Acting on Corrugated Metal Culvert under Negative Arching Condition

Vertical loads acting on corrugated metal culverts under negative arching condition were investigated through numerical analyses. Four kinds of corrugated metal culverts with span of 3m were considered in numerical analyses. Also, depths of cover were varied from 1m to 6m with increment of 1m. According to numerical analyses, magnitudes of vertical loads acting on culverts under the condition of negative arching were similar as overburden load on culvert. Furthermore, magnitudes of vertical loads acting on culverts supported by pile foundation were similar as those without pile foundation when depths of cover were less than about 2m. For larger depths of cover which are greater than about two times of span of culvert, magnitudes of vertical loads were slightly larger than those without pile foundation and its tendency becomes more clear as flexural rigidity of corrugated metal increases.

The demand of urban land in the Capital Region will be increased by the national economic growth of Korea. However, the available land for residential, commercial, and industrial should be limited in Capital Region, and the system of land supply for the urban land doesn't work effectively in the Capital Region. This research aims to forecast land demand in Capital Region based on the analysis of number of residents as well as housing units, and to suggest desirable land supply directions based on the analysis of land supply regulations and controls. This research concludes that it is demanded
of residential site for the construction of 1.27 million housing units by the year of 2010, and the change of land use from agricultural to residential is very restricted so that it may not supply urban land flexibly and appropriately. Thus, it is necessary to improve not only the system of land use controls but also cooperation among public agencies for the rational operation of land supply system.

UV Blocking Coatings by Combination of Organic-inorganic Hybrid Materials and UV absorbers

The human eye is exposed to UV and visible light. UV light exposure becomes harmful to the eye. Protection for eyes should block all ultraviolet rays. In our study, organic-inorganic hybrid materials have been applied to UV blocking coatings with UV absorbing materials on transparent plastics. The optical properties of UV blocking coatings were investigated in PMMA, CR 39 and PC substrates. In case of all UV absorbers, the transmission of UV light decreases with an increased amount of absorber. Our findings indicate that PMMA significantly reduced the transmission of UV radiation, CR 39 showed moderate decrease, while UV-uncoated PC had some UV blocking properties. Adhesion, hot water resistance and chemical resistance of the UV-coated CR 39 lenses were good. Pencil hardness were 4H. Abrasion resistance were poor.

4-Cyano-3,5-difluorophenol, useful as intermediate in the manufacturing of liquid crystals, was prepared by the regioselective iodination of 3,5-difluorophenol to give 4-iodo-3,5-difluorophenol, which was then converted to 4-cyano-3,5-difluorophenol under a mild reaction condition. /Li, particle-like precipitates appeared on the basal plane surface. After the first cycle, the thickness of the precipitate layer was 30 nm. The precipitates were considered to be decomposition of the lithium salt (
) and solvent molecules (EC and DEC), and to have an important role in suppressing further solvent decomposition on the basal plane.

The successive round of talks oil Korea-USA Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has continued, and it also has the Intellectual property(IPR) unit. Until now, tile one of most disputing concerns in IPR unit through talks is the limitation of compulsory license of claimed invention. The US is urging to establish a safeguard for IPR, as similar measure of the US, to protecting the profit of the US enterprises through these on-going talks, it is more likely expected to take the offensive about infringement of the patent seriously. Based on the current circumstances, the provision strategy study is needed to obtain Korea inventors the first inventor defense under the US patent law system as well as understand the current Korea's patent law and its revision against that in the US. In patent Law, both nations with first to file system and first to invent system permit a prior user of an invention to continue to use the invention notwithstanding its subsequent patenting by another under being subject to certain qualifications and limitations, even though a patent by a later inventor is granted. Normally, the first inventor defense has been used to compensate the drawbacks of the first to file system. The US patent Law, however, adopting the first to invent system admits the first inventor defense. Therefore, pursuing counteract provision under consideration with Korean patent Law system and research environment along with investigating the reason why the US adopted its patent law system, the scope of right, and the new reform of Act. 2005 of the institute, which promotes the first Korean inventor to possess the defense right of the US, provides certain preparations for Korean companies against the expected offensive from the US ones under the US patent Law system.

From the 1990s, Korean Life insurance industry has been experienced an profound impact from various exterior factors. In this study, productivity change in Korean Life insurance industry was measured by the Malmquist productivity change index. Analysis was made based on the balanced panel data from 1990 to 2003 collected from 8 lift insurance firms and 1993 to 1997 from 20 firms. The results show that survived firms' productivity change was higher than other firms.

The main objective of this research is an increased understanding of how a supplier can successfully manage its care business in the mobile telecommunications market. In order to carry out this purpose, Uzbekistanis mobile telecommunication market has been studied as a case study in this research. The study tried to identify the forces and the factors present in CRM, and the role of these in enhancing (endangering) business. The objective was to gain a better understanding of how customer could be successfully managed and treated through CRM system. Processes and measures of customer satisfaction and loyalty provide two main aspects of the study. The importance of the concept of care and the actions that define it were found to be critically important for creating loyal customers. The relation between customer's needs, satisfaction, and loyalty, and how these ultimately relate to a providing firm's profitability, were seen to be linked in complex ways. The complexity can be studied in many ways but herein the customer satisfaction-loyalty of each event was first evaluated separately. Customer satisfaction and loyalty were then related to each other in order to compare the separate and combined characteristics.

Recently, Adopting Accounting Information Systems(AIS) has spread rapidly for efficient and rational making decision in the business organization. There are many types of AIS. These are from simple package to integrated packages which are including HR, Product, Sales and Distribute. In case of big enterprises, ERP systems have been implemented and attention is now being directed as to AIS module. AIS module is not easy to change its form, therefore this module need to be considered enough when it comes to the corporations. However there we few standard fer this module as a successful information systems. This study analyze critical factors of certain companies when the companies were implementing AIS and based on this analysis, this study suggest a framework for successful implementation of AIS Using Case Study. 42 AIS adopted companies are surveyed and their factors' correlations are analyzed by mean analysis and factor analysis in this study. As a result of this study, when a company adopt AIS, criteria or particularities for the adoption are more important than environment of the company. Thus, it is significant to empirically prove previous studies' factors relation and importance relations for successful AIS implementation through empirical method in this study.

Thermal Characteristics of an OADM Using FBG for a DWDM

The study about the ruling policy of Government-General of Chosun and its use of films for the political propaganda during the Japanese colonial period(1910-1945)

Japan started to colonize Korea in 1910. It's when It forced and made Chosun sign on the Treaty of Protectorate. The Chosun faithfully practiced Japan's colonial policy over Korea. Futhermore, it stopped many Koreans from an anti-Japanese movement and tried to make Koreans have a positive attitude towards Japan. For this, Japan advertised the policy called Nae-sun-il-che which meant Korea and Japan were a community together from the same root. Ultimately, it targeted on absorbing Korea within their territory. With this goal, Japan kept on practicing the policy to acculturize and brainwash Koreans, totally depending on force and pressure from 1910 to 1919. However, this policy had changed by the overall anti-Japanese movement happening on March 1st 1919. Saito, the third governor-general who was appointed laster on, made an effort to win over He favor of Koreans in a less forceful way of the cultural politics. The change of policy had been specified in diverse actions such as permitting civil mass-media bodies forming the observation groups and opening conferences. In the case of daily newspapers, Japan had permitted only the ones by the Government-General of Chosun such as Maeil-shinbo, Kyunsung-ilbo, and Seoul Press before, but then other civil newspapers In Korean stated to be released. Along His Japan formed both Korean and Japanese observation groups to promote the mutual understanding and showed off Japan's goods in the propaganda films by implementing a film department. It's because Japan totally recognized and understood the impact of films. Therefore, Japan distincitively established a film agency for the production of propaganda movies while it banned the civil film production after 1937 when Japan started the war against China and USA in row. So, only one film agency, ruled by the Government-General of Chosun, produced movies from 1942 to 1945.
Effects of Feeding Lactic Acid Bacteria-Based Direct-Fed Microbial Complex on Growth Performance and Blood Characteristics in Growing Pigs

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of direct-fed microbial(DFM) complex on the growth performance and blood characteristics in growing pigs. A total of 72 growing pigs with an average initial BW of 24.64
2.46 kg were used in 28 days experiment trial. There were six pens per treatment with three pigs per pen. Dietary treatments included 1)NC(basal diet; antibiotics free diet), 2) PC(NC diet with 0.1% antibiotics; chlortetracycline 0.05% +neomycin 0.05%), 3)DFM0.1 UC diet + 0.1% DFM)and 4)DFM0.3 (NC diet + 0.3% DFM). During the entire experimental period, hnG(Average daily gain) was increased NC treatment compared with NDFM0.1 and NDFM0.3 treatments. However, there was not significantly effect by treatments(P>0.05). Also, there was not significantly effect in ADFI(average daily feed intake) among the treatments. Blood characteristics(RBC, WBC and IgG) tended to improved, however, no significant differences were observed(P>0.05). In our experiment, DFM had not effects on growth performance and blood characteristics in growing pigs.
A Construction of the Principal Period-2 Component in the Degree-9 Bifurcation Set with Parametric Boundaries

By extending the Mandelbrot set for the complex polynomial
we define the degree-n bifurcation set. In this paper, we formulate the boundary equation of a period-2 component on the main component in the degree-9 bifurcation set by parameterizing its image. We establish an algorithm constructing a period-2 component in the degree-9 bifurcation set and the typical implementations show the satisfactory result with Mathematica codes grounded on the analysis.

The purpose of the study is to examine teachers', students', and parents' perception on the five-day-work-week school system, and to suggest ways of effective implementation. For the effective operation of the five-day-work-week school system, the curriculum should be reorganized based on current conditions, and based on problems of the actual condition, social infrastructure should be expanded. These will be contributed to taking root the five-day-work-week school system in a transition period
